We used this vet a few weeks ago on a Saturday during an emergency with my youngest cat. They were so kind in fitting us in even on a busy schedule! Today we unfortunately had to euthanize the same cat and again they were very accommodating on a busy Friday night schedule. They were sympathetic and very easy to work with during this hard time and very comforting. Their prices are a lot less expensive than our usual vet and we will use them from now on for our other cats needs. I really want to thank you in caring for Albus for the short time he was in your hands. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your staff is amazing as well.

I’ve been looking for a vet closer to me than my last vet. I had a sick pup and needed to get her in on a Saturday. After hearing her symptoms they made room for her to come in. I was met with such wonderful smiles at the desk first off. The vet tech was so personable and sweet to my pup. The vet was open and honest with me. Didn’t try to do a bunch of expensive test, just said let’s try this and we can go from there if she doesn’t get better. Very reasonable prices and great staff! This will now be my new vet for my three fur babies. Thank you all at the clinic for what you do!

Took my cat Pumpkin in. The employees were very kind. The veterinarian Dr Peterson was extremely good with my cat who is normally afraid of anyone she doesn't know. He answered all my questions & explained everything to me regarding the issue I came in for. The charge for the visit was reasonable. They sent me a card a few days later thanking me for coming in. The entire place was pristine. I highly recommend Westgate Animal Hospital & will continue to use them .

From the first moment of my interaction with Westgate Animal Clinic until today I am 100% impressed. They go above and beyond to accommodate our pets who often need last minute visits because of a special health issue. Additionally, this past winter when I was making shelters for the feral cats outside during below zero weather, they helped scrounge up some Styrofoam containers to aid in my shelter building. The office is very clean, and always very professional. They seem to understand the unique needs of my pets, and are always very gracious and accommodating to their finicky nature. My family and myself have been going to this vet clinic since they opened in 2016. They've cared and equally loved the pets that have walked in with us, and helped us cope on the days when they eventually didn't. I trust their opinions on my pets health and their costs are extremely fair to a point that I can bring my pets as regularly as a person would bring themselves to a clinic if they were sick or for just a check-up. They try their best to fit in emergency/urgent care visits, and even then, that's still affordable. Most of their prices are on their site. Everyone on their team is so kind and willing to help our silly little guys. From Chi who loves his visits and to Bob who fights every step of the way; they give them all a chance and help us be better pet parents and responsible owners as our pets transition into their different stages of life. Front desk staff are just as amazing and fun as the vet techs and vets, they make calling easy and call us back with any information or game plan for pet health when the answer isn't immediate or requires more looking into. Thank you everyone at Westgate. Here's to hoping your business continues to be successful so I can continue to rely on everyone there.

This is an easy 5 star review. The staff, techs, and vets are amazing! I've liked every single person I've meet there. Reasonable prices and never pressure to do more expensive treatments/ tests unless absolutely necessary. I know I would find a way to spend whatever I need to on my dogs, but they have never put me in that position any of the numerous times I've been there. Thank you Westgate!

My dog Buff is very weary of Veterinarians, from the very first time I took him into Westgate animal hospital it was an awesome experience. Dr. Petersen truly cares about the animals and their owners. His whole staff take the time to listen to your questions/concerns and show nothing but the utmost professionalism. Such a safe caring environment which makes Buff feel relaxed which in turn makes me feel good about bringing him into the clinic. Not only does Dr. Petersen care about the animals that come into his clinic but also the owners. He didn't make me feel rushed, all of my questions were addressed by the doctor and his staff were nothing but professional and respectful. I'm not talking about just the way I was treated but also Buff, who if you could see his reaction was very happy with his treatment. Dr. Petersens pricing is more than affordable which truly helps owners that cannot afford the high prices of getting their furry family members care. The Dr. and his staff even take the time to explain pricing of treatments and medicines beforehand so that owners understand what the cost is going to be so there is no "sticker price" shock. My dog is my world and I would not recommend any place that I did not feel was an amazing experience for the owners and their furry family members. I highly recommend Westgate Animal Clinic to all who want quality care with quality pricing and an amazing staff all around.

The prices were very good. I called several vet clinics because our usual vet was getting very pricey. Even though we had to wait pretty long to get an appointment, when we arrived there was nobody in the lobby and got a room right away. The vet wasn't that personable and didn't talk much so I felt uncomfortable. She did not explain anything so I had to ask a bunch of questions. The vet on my 2nd visit was the opposite. She was knowledgeable and friendly. I will request her on future visits.

We’ve been coming here for years and love it. They get you in super fast and into a room. They always give you options and don’t pressure you in to doing something. We recently had to come in and put our sweet kitty to sleep. They were so kind. From the first phone call to walking in. They knew and took us right back to a room with a blanket. We only had one chance to visit this vet after our previous vet retired and before we had to take our dog in to be put to sleep. In spite of only being there once, it was obvious that the staff was knowledgeable and caring. They even were kind enough to send a sympathy card after hearing about our dog.

We brought our English Bulldog here as she was passing blood clots and we were panicking. The lady on the phone said they would probably want to run some tests and gave us an estimate of the sick check fee and the fees for the other tests. When we arrived, the vet was super kind and said we did not need to run any of the tests as our fur at was just in heat. They were very honest and we were so happy they didn’t run tests just for money even though we were expecting that! The vet said our dog looked perfect and we were doing everything right. The sick visit as well as vaccinations we got updated while there were extremely reasonable and affordable. We will definitely bring our fur babies here from here on out!

This vet clinic is phenomenal. Our poor cat was so sick with kidney failure. She was diagnosed and cared for quickly without breaking the bank. We had to travel out of town during her treatment and Westgate was always there to communicate with my husband and me when we had questions about her care. The staff effectively trained us for how to care for her and answered literally every question we have. We take all of our pets here and just adore them. They genuinely care about your pets.

This is by far the best Vet office I have been to! We had a very sick pup (9.5 years old) and they got us in same day. Follow up was supposed to be a phone call a few days later and he wasn't doing any better so I showed up in office and they saw us immediately. So understanding of our love for our pets, knowledgeable, giving us all options and affordable as well. The staff is amazing and we will be going here from now on.

I love Dr Petersen and everyone that works here. They’re all patient and so nice. I moved to Omaha from Austin, TX, and was worried about finding a good vet. I got so lucky!! I haven’t had anything major happen but Dr Petersen is able to check my dog’s eye pressure. She has glaucoma and a retinal detachment. He’s been fantastic with managing her pressures low. 2022, One year later…. I moved a few hours from Omaha and drive back here for annual and eye checkups. Dr Petersen is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and thorough. I’ve been to the clinic for a few years now and have always been very happy with the level of care I receive. Highly recommend!!!!

I'm forever thankful for Westgate. They've been there for my dog when she was a little puppy. They did her operation when she swallowed a squeaker. They've helped me with her skin problems. They even did her dental cleaning. The vet has even been able to help me over the phone and even order prescriptions knowing that I am an over-the-road driver and can't always come into the clinic. I love Westgate. I've been to several vets in the Bellevue/Millard area and the care there was substantially sub-par compared to Westgate. Not to mention, extremely expensive. I always suggest Westgate to anyone who asks about vet care because I've had nothing but positive experiences and their prices are fair. My dogs recently got their teeth cleaned and with one being an older large dog and the other a French Bulldog, I was very nervous for them to undergo anesthesia. But I trust the crew there working at Westgate and Dr. Peterson very much and that helped curve a lot of my anxiety. If you're looking for a vet, look no further. Highly recommend.

Switched here recently and was satisfied with the prices and impressed by the care. Never felt rushed or hurried. I was also impressed that Dr. Petersen took the time to check my German Shepherds hips, we were only in for an ear concern. For me that solidified my choice, for him to see my dog and know that the breed is prone to hip problems and check them the first time meeting him really impressed me. This place is awesome! Quick and easy check-in and check-out and thorough communication the day of my cat’s dental procedure where she underwent anesthesia. Guinney had his second vet appointment toward the beginning of July. He gets very anxious around unfamiliar places and with strangers, so he usually lashed out in the past. He was due for his shots so I was nervous on how he would react. The workers at Westgate Animal Clinic were all so amazing and compassionate! Guinney was very calm the whole time, he even has a small procedure done that day and when the vet brought him back to me, he was half asleep in her arms, which was so surprising to see. I had put a muzzle on him that day just in case, but even when it fell off (I put it on too loose) he was very calm. Will definitely keep going back to this place for all future vet visits!

I have been going to Dr. Petersen since his clinic opened. I absolutely love all of his staff and him as a veterinarian. He listens to all of your concerns and answers all of your questions you might have. I had an elderly German Shepherd who required a lot of patience because she was fear aggressive and Dr. Petersen and vet tech Alex would take their time with her and would wait till she was ready for her visit. I am so happy to have found him. I highly recommend his clinic and now I have a lot of friends and family that go to his clinic because I am always telling any of my friends that have pets to go to here. Prices are so reasonable and staff is great. Couldn't ask for much more! Keep up the great work guys!

I'm very impressed with The customer service and how quickly I was able to get in on short notice. My regular vet was out of town I called Friday evenining and was able to get in within 30 minutes. Doctor Peterson was very personable with us and our pet. I would rightly recommend Westgate animal clinic. The cost for the office is it in the medication prescribed was also reasonable.

How do I even begin. Our experience with Westgate animal clinic was compassionate & the vet as well as the staff went above and beyond to make us feel as comfortable as possible during the sudden euthanasia of or beloved 13 year old chihuahua Bo. Offering us water, tissues & soft bedding for him to lay on. Not just the cold table we expected just a year prior with our sweet 12 year old cat Layla at another local vet. Giving us ample time with him before & after. There was no rush. As a family that helped us tremendously! His death was so sudden & they were able to get us in within 2 hours of calling. We’re grateful his ending could be as peaceful as possible. We got a sympathy card in the mail just a day or so afterwards from the staff. Que the tears. When receiving our dogs ashes, they gave us another card, snipped some of his hair (placed nicely in a little bag, not just stuffed inside), a heart with a quote as well as seeds to plant & his urn with his name engraved is beautiful. Actually seeing his hair made us cry. Such an unexpected & heartfelt gesture. This isn’t our home vet, but we’ll definitely be coming back for our other pets. The office and patient room were clean. I’ll add that in because this is important for us. You’re walking into a clean environment with no smell of urine lingering. Thank you Westgate staff. I recently switched to this clinic and I'm in love with them! Their prices are much more reasonable than the clinic I was taking my dogs to previously. The tech was very thorough and incredibly friendly. I didn't have much interaction with the receptionist or the vet, but I also was okay with that because of how great the tech was. I took my dogs in to have their teeth cleaned and to update their vaccinations. I absolutely LOVE that they have online profiles for myself and my pets. I'm so glad I made the switch the Westgate Animal Clinic and highly recommend them to everyone!

I went in with my 3 pups, a Chihuahua, a lab, and a pitty (Blue). Blue gets defensive and aggressive when he's at the vet even though he never does that at home. Dr. Peterson and his team were extremely professional and handled the situation with aplomb. Blue was very upset and overall a terrible patient, but the staff were unphased and worked with him to finish the appointment! I will certainly be returning.

Hands down the best vet I've encountered. Honest, easy pricing and very friendly staff. Call well ahead to book your apt as they're becoming very busy! Rightfully so though, keep on doin great stuff guys! Edit: again, coming with accolades! I'm sadly moving cross country and driving my cats over 3 days. I inquired about sedating my 2 cats with some kind of medication, and they were quite prompt to give proper info, alternatives, and and what kinda process to expect. Convenient location, staff very friendly, able to get 3 cats in for a check up same day, reasonably priced. Our pets were at ease. Dr. took his time in answering all questions. We were not rushed. Under 300.00 for 3 animals check ups, shots, flea and heartworm applications, ear cleaning, toothpaste shampoo and ear solution. Amazing experience! We had no wait time, got into a room immediately. Office very clean and organized. Very nice ladies at the front desk. We will be back!

I left a really great vet because they were so $$$! Read reviews about these Doctors and the reviews were all dead on! Great compassionate care and Dr. Petersen acted like we were the only patient to see. He spent a lot of time with me, answered my questions and some I hadn't thought of. Literally almost half of what I was paying for an office visit!! Like others have mentioned, my dog was nervous as heck when we got there. I dropped her off for a biopsy. When I picked her up her heart rate was normal and she was totally calm. Can't wait to introduce my other 2 furballs to them. Nice office/waiting room also. Very clean.

It was a very bad day. Keeper my cat had been very sick for a long time. He was slowly dying. I had him for 14 years. It was July 3, time 7am. He wouldn't eat anything. Got him fresh ice water and started calling Vetanarian clinics. I was referred to Westgate Animal Clinic. They squeezed me at 9am when they opened, I called them very early and the staff was there to help me. I was almost in tears. The staff was very understanding and knew what I was going thru. The Doctor explained everything that was about to happen. My buddy was put to sleep. There was no discomfort for him and I was allowed to be with him thru it all. The Doctor and the staff were excellent and very kind. I was also sent a sympathy card signed by everyone at the clinic. I was grateful and touched by their compassion.

The staff are very polite and incredibly understanding. Doctor Fred was very knowledgeable and sensitive. We brought our cat in for excessive bleeding of the mouth, thinking he needed oral surgery, only to find out he had FIV and would not live long. Fred helped make the process of putting him to sleep much easier than it could have been, and we could tell the unenviable task of informing us of the diagnosis was one he took to heart. The prices, also, were much more reasonable than other clinics. While I'm sure you'd rather not visit a vet, if you've gotta choose one, pick this one. Thank you, Westgate.

My 4 year old eskie saw Dr. Ryne. He can be very anxious but all of the staff members were very patient and loving toward him. The prices were fair and reasonable and the appointment was quick, but the doctor made sure to give us plemty of time to ask questions and to explain everything to us. We have seen Doctor Peterson for a few years. When a new doctor came to the practice, I was Leary since we had been with doc Peterson. Well- Doctor Rhine is AMAZING! She has helped us control and manage our pitbulls skin allergies and overall food allergy issues. She listens, she thinks, she comes up with solutions and is patient as I make her repeat herself 3 times while giving me instructions for meds, after surgery care, etc. hah! :) The practice as a whole is very fairly priced and has always done a good job of making us feel supported as pet parents. They are timely coming into the exam room, which I appreciate- everyone is busy, and they truly respect that.

Dr. Peterson is very knowledgeable and his staff is always super friendly whenever I go in. I have 5 dogs on various vaccination schedules so I make at least a few trips a year. They are also very accommodating when I have an emergency during business hours which is great because I would much rather see my regular vet than someone who doesn't know my dogs at an ER clinic. I highly recommend this clinic for veterinary services.

My dog had a severe allergic reaction and my regular vet couldn't see my dog because she is a "problem child"; (as in she hates the vet and it takes my boyfriend and me to go in with her to hold her down for shots and such, it's an old age thing sad!) but non the less w/covid that wasn't an option w/ our reg vet even though it was an emergency!!! Luckily they referred us to Westgate and the got us in right away despite her behavior issues & made her all better. We will most definitely be switching vets and are so greatful!! The Westgate family is awesome! We and our pets love it there, Dr Fred and everyone there are so nice. The care is top notch, we have a couple of skittish rescue dogs who have never liked going to the Doctor but they are so much more relaxed at Westgate. Our 110 pound shepherd/Great Dane mix is very energetic and doesn't like going on exam tables. When he hurt his front leg recently Dr Fred and the vet tech got down on the floor to exam him. After some enthusiastic puppy kisses he let them check him out calmly and quietly and was soon bounding about like normal. We wouldn't take our pets anyway else.

NE/IA IG rescue

This clinic has been fantastic with the rescue dogs that we bring to them for care. Most of them have horrible teeth and need dental cleanings and extractions and some have other health issues that need addressed. The pricing for all the medical care they provide, including surgeries, is VERY reasonable. They are very rescue friendly and compassionate as well. The quality of care is fantastic and Dr. Peterson and the vet techs and receptionist are always willing to answer questions and not make you feel rushed. You don't have to wait for days for an appt and when you come for your appt, you don't have a wait usually at all. I love that it is a small clinic. It is our go-to clinic for rescue. Many of us involved in our rescue group also use this clinic for our personal pets too. I am always referring friends to this clinic and they have been very happy with the level of care they have received. Thank you Westgate!

My 4 year old cat lost a lot of weight fast right before a trip I was supposed to take. I called Westgate an hour before they closed and they told me they would see him immediately that night. During COVID, they were one of the only vet clinics in town that you could accompany your pet during examination. Also, they use the Purevax brand vaccination, for rabies, which is safer for cats. Their prices are reasonable and the staff and vets are phenomenal.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS VET FAMILY!!! Dr. Petersen and staff are AMAZING!! Very caring, compassionate, extremely reasonable and treats your fur babies like their own!! You can call them at any time of day and they can get usually accommodate your needs..Dr Petersen takes his time examining and answering questions, I never feel rushed!! In January I had come home from work at noon, didn't do my normal routine that day grabbed my dogs a 1 yo lab n 8 mo old irish setter to have a spa day. Unfortunately my setter started vomiting so they couldn't cut his nails so we left n came home..Once we got home I went into the livingroom and found a chewed up tube of cream that had lidocaine and other toxic ingredients in it on the floor, my setter is still vomiting. I called Westgate and got a hold of Amanda and explained to her what happen. She talked with Dr Petersen while I was on phone, he looked up the cream and informed me to get down there ASAP!! I grabbed him n we rushed down to Westgate, when I got in parking lot he collapsed in back seat and I had to carry him into the clinic, once in the doors there were people waiting to check out n rooms were full and I went in yelling for Amanda who came out of a room along with Dr Petersen and completely stopped what they were doing with other clients and rushed my baby back to the surgery room and had him shaved n IV put in within minutes.. His other clients waited patiently while the staff attended to my baby. Dr Petersen explained to me in great detail what the cream had in it and the lasting effects if he makes it. His techs Amanda n Alixe would rotate staying in back room with us, constantly checking his vitals n putting him under heat blankets, pushing medications as my baby started seizing. Dr. Petersen would come n check on us every 3-5 minutes and assess him, we were never alone..This tremendous family stayed long after hours for us working extremely hard to get our baby under control but unfortunately the grandmal seizure never stopped n our baby passed at 8pm :-( Dr Petersen, Amanda and Alixe we're all there with us, so COMPASSIONATE n CARING never rushed me out the door as It's 8pm n they put in a long day but that didn't matter to any of them, they let me take as long as I needed to say goodbye..They all stayed with me to make sure I was ok..When I was ready Dr Petersen n the girls gave me huge hug n didn't let go tell I did. The girls took care of all cremation planning and made sure I got clippings of his hair n paw prints.. The next day they called to check on me n our lab Molly. Received a card signed by entire staff the following week. Westgate clinic is PHENOMENAL and are now family, would never go anywhere else!! We started with Dr. Peterson years ago and were so excited when he opened his new clinic. As the mom to eight fur babies (4 dogs/4 cats) it is so important to have vetinary care you can trust. As all of our pets our rescues they have some quirks. Our very neurotic anxious Shepard/boxer mix does not trust easily but through the patience and kindness of Dr. P and his staff, visiting the vet is not the traumatic event it used to be. We cannot say enough good things about Westagate Animal Clinic and Dr. Peterson and his wonderful staff, Lyn, Shawn, Alixe, and Sarah. Also important with 8 fur kids is the cost. Westagate Clinic has the best prices we have found. I have recommended them to all of our family and friends.
