Dr. Knott did an amazing job when my dog was diagnosed with a new condition. She explained everything in a very kind, easily-understood manner. Each of the vet techs also did great, thorough work and made us feel comfortable and welcome. I'm very glad we bring our dogs here!

This is the vet to go in Omaha metro area if you need scanning or your pet has something on the more urgent/serious side. We were able to get an appointment on short notice for our dog who was not peeing at the time and they did blood work and x ray as well as a physical examination. Vet and reception staff were nice. It cost us 200 dollars less than vetco did on a different time. Definitely would recommend.

My 3yr old Golden Retriever ate part of a toy causing a significant obstruction. Dr. Burr and her team did an amazing job both pre and post surgery. He’s had a long week but they have been with us every step of the way! This team truly cares about me and my pup!

Everyone here is amazing! You can tell they truly care about animals! Every time we need to make an appointment, they get our babies in quickly and we never have to wait long while we're there. They're efficient and good at what they do! I would highly recommend!

We've taken all of our cats and dogs to the American Animal Hospital for many, many years. I can't recommend it highly enough. We've worked closely with many of he doctors including Dr. Courtney Knott who is an amazing doctor. She loves her patients--both human and animal. Her dedication knows no bounds as she's even called in the evening and on the weekends to keep us updated or to answer questions. I recently met with Dr. Natalie Allen. She is very caring and kind. When recently faced with a difficult and emotional decision for one of my "twin" Goldens, Dr. Allen went through all of the information and options with me very carefully making sure I asked all my questions. She went above and beyond to help me determine the best option, which means surgery. Nothing in life is guaranteed, but I know that she and Dr. Knott will do their utmost to take care of my boy. I have great confidence that all will be well. The entire staff is like that. They are all very friendly and positive and they are all very busy with many clients each day, but they nevertheless give everyone individual attention. Dr. Knott and team have gone above and beyond to help Beau through his surgery and recovery. We hope for the very best of outcome and know that it's likely due to the care he's getting from the pet- and people-friendly and very kind individuals at American Animal Hospital. We wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank you so much for all you do. In good times and sad, they are there for you. I'll never forget the tender hand from the doctor on my back as I sat silently sobbing as my very best friend years ago was put to sleep relieving him of his pain. We have used AAH for the past 17 years and always recommend you guys to all our family and friends. We will never go to another vet as we have had so many positive experiences there. Owning a Rottweiler can be challenging sometimes as people judge them; we have never once experienced any issues or judgements from any of the staff and in fact have found the opposite. It is nice to feel so welcome every time we go! Thank you for everything you do!

When I came in, I was greeted immediately and I was informed that I could be seen right away. It didn't take probably less than 5 minutes before I was escorted back to the area with Oreo. There was very little wait time between the time coming into the room and the person came in to do an initial diagnosis on Oreo, and then the vet was in momentarily. After that. She was most pleasant, very helpful, and quickly diagnosed and prescribed medicine for him. I thought the charges were quite reasonable and how oftentimes animal "hospitals" charge more, I felt the fees for right in line with normal veterinarian services. I would highly recommend using this facility.

I sincerely love American Animal Hospital. The staff is very friendly and the facilities are very nice. I always enjoy interacting with everyone that works there. Dr. Jesske typically takes care of my cats, and he is fantastic with them. They have had routine check ups and shots done, and one was spayed here and the other had a tooth extraction. They received and continue to receive excellent care. My cats are like my kids and I want the best for them, and any time I have questions both the doctors and staff are always there to help. It brings me great comfort to know that the care of my cats are in such great hands. They also treat me very kindly. Thanks for all you do, from the staff to the doctors, all of y'all are great.

Got in right away to see vet about our Beagle having an ear infection. Met the new vet, Dr. Courtney Knott, (as our regular vet was not in that day). Instead of lifting our dog nervously onto the table, Dr. Knott sat down on the floor, gently talking to the dog face to face, immediately putting our dog at ease. Can't say enough good things about American Animal Hospital!

Dr. Knott is fantastic. The staff are all courteous, responsive, and very helpful. We feel blessed that we found someone like Dr. Knott to provide veterinary care to our two yorkies. Dr. Natalie Allen was so compassionate when caring for my dog, who has become old and fragile. She gave me all the information as to what was going on with her, why she’s feeling the way she does, and what I needed to do in my care for her in moving forward. I adopted a dog and she is dog aggressive! These guys allowed her to go right away to the room so other ones are safe! She doesn't like men so they had a woman come in. Offered her peanut butter to make the shots go better and faster! They were all nice and incredible service!

I took my dog Buddy to the Urgent care for a ear issue as my vet was closed I am VERY IMPRESSED with the Dr the receptionist and all the Tech's they all were very understanding with my dog being aggressive they was patient with me and him the Dr was very Concerned about Buddy's well bein!!! American Animal Hospital is by far the best office I have taken my animals to. The level of care and professionalism shows how dedicated they are. They pretty much love and treat your pet like they are their own. One of the hardest things I have had to do is say goodbye to my best friend, my cat, a few years ago and they were amazing and very kind throughout the process. Because of this I knew when my boyfriend and I just adopted our dog we I knew we had to bring him here for all his care! Thank you American Animal Hospital for being so awesome!

So thankful and happy for amazing quality and care Zoey received. She had her teeth cleaned and it was the best they have ever looked! My dog has been going here for years for all of his grooming, checkups and medical needs. The staff are absolutely wonderful, they remember your name and your pet's name, and they take excellent care of the animals and their people that come through the door. The doctors are very knowledgeable and friendly. They saved my dog's life after he ate a few sticks of sugar free gum as a puppy. He's now 11 years old and going strong thanks to the American Animal Hospital. Thank you so much!

My experiences with American Animal Hospital have been nothing short of incredible. I first came to them while looking for new vet in Omaha for a check up on a dog I adopted from Lincoln. They had great reviews so I decided to try them out and quickly found out for myself why. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable during my first visit for check ups and I didn't have to wait long at all to be booked or to be seen when I got inside. But where they really blew me away was today when I had an emergency issue resulting from a run in with NHS and a fabricated and exaggerated report of health issues for my cat that had been filed with animal control. They were able to squeeze me in for an appt the very next day for an exam at no cost to me and set all my concerns to rest and notify animal control that these health issues were not present and that my pet is in good health. I can't recommend this place highly enough, you couldn't pay me to switch vets!

This is the best vet clinic I've ever been to. The staff are very compassionate and professional, and the doctors are so skilled and knowledgeable. They took amazing care of my cat, who had kidney disease, all the way through her end-of-life care. They were very understanding of our grief and made the process as easy as possible. On top of all that, their prices are very fair. 10/10, would recommend to anyone with a beloved cat.

I can't praise all the staff at American Animal Hospital enough. Everyone there is so kind and friendly, I feel like I am back in my small town. I have many animals, who have all been seen there for either check-ups, emergencies, and other various conditions (hip problems, severe allergies, bladder stones, etc...). I have seen every doctor at this facility, and I haven't been disappointed by any of them. I have 2 pitbulls, who most individuals are afraid of (even though they are nice). Before moving to Omaha, I was accustomed to veterinary staff putting muzzles on them before they would treat them. NOT ONCE has the veterinary staff at American Animal Hospital asked to put a muzzle on them. As a pit owner, I can't tell you how good that makes me feel. I have a cat that has to have special food (science diet C/D) because of her bladder stones, this food is not cheap, but I have done my research on the best place to purchase this food, and the lowest price is at American Animal Hospital (by at least 4 dollars). They do their best to help you save money (coupons, loyalty food program, etc..) I have never felt that they have charged me too much, for any service or appointment there. I truly can't praise this place enough, I have been coming here for 5 years and I have never been disappointed. I trust American Animal Hospital to provide to best care for my babies. Big thanks to everyone who works there!

American Animal Hospital is the best vet facility I've ever been to. I will never go anywhere else. My corgi has had an official clean bill of health for two months now and I owe it all to the amazing staff and Dr. Kroeger. They prioritized my little girl's well being and now she is happy and healthy again. They love her like I do and I can't thank them enough. This place is wonderful.

I was extremely impressed with how slow the vet took it when getting to know my dog. He was actually trying to establish trust with him instead of trying to get through the appointment as quickly as possible. I've never had a vet do that and it was nice to see them go that extra mile. Everybody was willing to listen and were very understanding. This vet office is a little out of the way from where we live but my fiance and I are willing to make the drive for the quality of service.

The practice is always spotless clean, staff friendly and efficient, The animal technician was very attentive to all responses about Romeo’s current habits/issues (he has to be pre-dosed to a bad vaccination reaction a number of years ago) and asked if I had any objections to him drawing blood for his heart worm test while he was back there (I found very efficient) and Dr Knott is the best!!! In addition to her being a very knowledgeable and comforting vet for my dogs but she always inquires as to how I’m doing as well, knowing that the home environment has a great impact on pets too!!! I am so happy that I changed practices years ago!!!

I moved to Omaha from California and after 30 minutes my dog cut his foot. I was referred to American Animal Hospital by my Sister In Law. I received an appointment the next day. The service from the staff was outstanding. They were friendly and very knowledgeable. The doctor was friendly and explained everything well. I was amazed at the cost as vet care in California is nowhere near the quality of care my dog received would have cost almost twice as much. That facility was clean and well kept. I found my new vet care team!!

Dr. Courtney Knott was amazing with my dog today! I have a 4 year old yellow lab who woke up this morning limping. I was unable to see anything that could be causing it and called the vet we'd been taking our dog to and they weren't able to see him for 2 days. This wasn't acceptable for me as we could tell our dog was in pain. We contacted American Animal Hospital and they were kind, calm and compassionate. They scheduled our dog right away and worked him in between the scheduled appointments. Due to COVID, we were anxious to let him go inside without us but the staff was great with him. She called us while we waited in our car and discussed his exam and treatment plan. She answered all of our questions and we feel so thankful! If you are looking for a new vet for your animal, Dr. Knott is amazing and I highly recommend them!

My famly and I have no words to thanks this hospital, my little puppy who is 12 weeks old, was hit by a car, and had a head trauma, she was bleeding all over her nose and mouth, I had lost all the hope on her to be alive, but thanks God I brought her to this hospital! She is a chihuahua mix only 4 pounds, I’m really on shock because the vet “I don’t remember his name” safe her life! That was on Tuesday, March 9th, and 4 days later she is perfect, running around, and being a happy and lovely puppy! Trust them, they are the best❤️

This was the first time visit for my family and I at the American vet hospital. We had the difficult decision to make of putting our dog to sleep. He was a giant Alaskan malamute named Loki, 14 years old and very ill. From the moment we arrived to the hospital the staff was super friendly and I thought that they went above and beyond to make it as easy and comfortable for my family. I was really nervous to stay out in my car during the visit because my dog gets really scared and timid at the vet even when I'm holding him. But when the Dr. called me during our visit, he said he was sitting on the floor with him because he seemed to do better there and thought he was just getting a "deep tissue" massage. I've decided I'm coming back to this office to make it my main vet clinic, I'm SO happy he was looked after that well - like a pet, not like a patient!

I brought Ceres and Luna in at 6wks old for their first visit. Dr. Nick was great. He went out of his way to make them feel safe and secure, even getting down on the floor to be "less threatening". He took the time to answer my questions and explain what to expect in the coming weeks. Four kitten visits later, he still takes time with each of them, asks how they are at home, and gets back down on the floor with them after giving them their shots. And it's not just the doctor! Great people all around. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Anyone looking for more than just an "in and out" experience should stop in. Your fur babies will love you for it!

I am extremely impressed with the staff at American Animal Hospital. They were able to squeeze us in the same day when our cat’s disposition changed and he became extremely lethargic refusing to eat or drink. The vet printed off our cat’s blood work in order to go over all the results and discussed treatment options. I have never been more impressed with the willingness to go above and beyond the job! I would highly recommend this animal hospital for anyone who wants a vet and staff that truly cares about the animals and of course our concerns when an animal is sick!!!!

We have been bringing our cats to American Animal Hospital for over 20 years. The doctors and staff are so caring and friendly. They were wonderful with our elderly cats and helped us make them more comfortable. They both lived to ripe old ages. Our new kittens love them. It is great that they are open 7 days a week. They did a great job helping us put down or 12 yo Jack Russell Terrier "KC" they let us take all the time we needed to mourn the Los of our beloved pet. They are now helping us take care of it newest family member. Doctor Jeske is great, very personable and quick with what needs done. He have us a few options on spaying our Sheppard based on new research and wasn't dogmatic about either approach and really left it up to us on when to do it.

One of the best Vets that I have ever encountered. I live in a small town about 30 - 40 miles south of their location and there are dozens of vets between me and AAH but I still travel the 45 mins (occasionally through some pretty rough traffic) to take my dog and parrot to them. Their staff has always been super nice and understanding of all my pet family needs. I used to work in a small town vets office and their prices are not that much higher than what I remember charging a decade ago and the quality of care provided more than makes up the difference. I recommend this vet to anyone just as it was recommended to me.

I have been taking my dog here since she was a puppy. Dr Jennifer Phillips has always treated her with great care & seems like she cares & remembers the dogs she treats. Sometimes we have to wait quite a bit when we have an appointment but that would be my only complaint. They send reminders when shots are due which is nice.

I seriously LOVE AAH so much and can 100% back up the other reviews stating that it's clear how much they truly care about you and especially your pet. I have taken my dog to a previous vet in Omaha and was appalled at how poorly they treated him - like it was just a business and his comfort didn't matter. I feel like the doctors at AAH have gone the extra mile for my dog, and the receptionists are always friendly and have made us a priority in the past when he got into chocolate and was so sick he had to be rushed in. My dog means the whole world to me and to say I trust him when he is with the doctors at AAH is saying a lot! THANK YOU American Animal Hospital for taking care of my baby!

I took my dog Karma here they got me in that morning no wait when we got there. Dr. Nicholas Hellbusch was the vet he is excellent he got down on the floor with her to make her comfortable. I was super impressed with the entire staff. Also very reasonable I was expecting higher prices slightly higher than my regular vet but very slightly . I would go there again in a heartbeat highly recommend.

We brought our dog in for a quick nail clipping because he hates to get his nails clipped, and folks at typical groomers (and ourselves) aren't comfortable clipping his nails (defensive snarls). We called to set up an appointment and they got us right in. They were kind, quick and gave him a good amount of treats. We think this service is really priced well for the quality and timeliness. I have only been once.. the people seem nice and the vet seemed attentive enough. However, there prices I think are outrageous. For a simple appt all i needed to do was establish care (since we just moved here) so I could set up an appointment to have my little guy neutered was over $50 and he didnt need anything done or checked. Then the neutering itself at least $250. Now mind you my dog is 8lbs and my previous vet it was no more than $150.

I had to choose a new vet at AAH for my new puppy. I have always had great experiences with all the vets I have seen there. But my last visit was with Dr. Knott, and it was extraordinary! She gave me about 3 tips specific to my puppy's breed. That helped me decide that she is my new vet. I will bring my new pup to Sam for grooming--this will be my first experience with Sam, but from what I hear she will do an amazing job.

My cat had a seizure late Saturday night and I was able to be seen on Sunday afternoon- and while the wait time was quite long- and even though it was after closing time by the time the vet was able to see my cat - he spent a great deal of time explaining things to me and gave me quite a few options for follow-up care. Never once did I feel rushed out of the appointment even though he had been so busy and it was after closing time (please note I was there well before closing for an Urgent Care appointment and they tried to fit me in the best that they could but this is one very busy office!) I am so thankful that my cat was able to be seen and got what I feel is some of the best care available! Thank you to the American Animal Hospital team and your dedication to our pets!

To be honest I would give them five stars because they are good and we have used them for twelve years. That said my biggest complaint is that for twelve years of loyalty if you need just a quick rabies shot they want to charge an extra sixty dollars for an emergency fee which is stupid. Squeezing me in between two other patients is actually extra money for that day but apparently that isn't enough for them and that seems greedy.

I took my 14 year old dog in for dental cleaning. The absolute scariest thing for me. But they did an amazing job. Sage is recovering amazingly from surgery less than a week ago, her teeth are seriously sparkling, and this is the first vet office that she's been comfortable in. I have used this vet for over 20 years and have my favorite now Dr Knott, but I have been comfortable using any of the other vets, if need be. I have always gotten excellent care and always feel that staff and vets genuinely care for my pets life. One of the vets here discovered my dog that I Took in for a small limp actually had osteosarcoma cancer in his lower leg and referred me to an excellent surgeon who did biopsy to confirm and then he had to have leg removed at shoulder. She gave him 6-8 mths to live and am happy to say now it has been 1 1/2 yrs now and he is old but energetic and can go on short walks, and run if he wants, Thanks to Dr E for that. Still great vet for my animals and will always go here.

Was terrified to take my 100lbs Johnson American Bulldog to a vet and drop him with strangers. See Hulk is dog aggressive and doesn't care for men and some woman. The vet tech was awesome. His vet dr. Amanda Jondle was magnificent. He went in with a muzzle and double leashed he came out without a muzzle and calm. I was so happy. The vet tech sat with him I wish I knew her name cuz bless her heart for being so kind to my boy. Thank you for helping us and seeing this big scary dog how I see him as a loving big baby. June 5th I had to put my dog Bailey down. Dr. Kroger the best vet ever was the vet who took care of my beloved Bailey since she was 8 weeks old. Bailey was 18 years old when she died. Dr. Kroger took care of her the past 18 years and when I saw him yesterday my tears just flowed. I so appreciated him being there to help me put my so loved dog to rest. It was so painful but he was so kind and compassionate. Dr. Kroger has been an excellent vet the past 18 years and when we went into the animal hospital I totally trusted him with the care of my dog. I have been going to American Animal Hospital for the past 15 years and I will never go to another vet. Dr. Jesske is the best, but all of their vets and support staff are great. They truly care about your animals. They offer a wide variety of services, so many of my friends have been referred to them by smaller vets for special treatments that their vet didn't offer, however I've always felt that their fees are very reasonable unlike some large vet clinics. The staff at American Animal is very understanding about family budgets and they don't nickel and dime you for unnecessary tests, medicines, or treatments. The receptionists, techs, and vets remember me and my dogs and ask questions when we come in which shows they care. American Animal is a win-win for any family! Large enough that they have great hours and a wide variety of services, yet they have never outgrown that extra care and attention that you get from a smaller vet clinic.

We called right away in the morning to see if they could see our Zoey, who was having pain in her back and hips. The office was very accommodating in getting Zoey in right away. I am shocked by some of the negative reviews. We've been taking our pets to AAH for some time. We are delighted at every visit. We've had pets for over 40 years and have gone to dozens of other vets. In frustration with those other vets, friends recommended AAH. We've been going there ever since. They are the most caring, thoughtful, competent vets we've ever used. We've seen Dr. Jesske, Dr. Knott and Dr. Hull. They love our pets almost as much as we do. Earlier this year, our 14 year old dog had a tumor. AAH worked with us on treatments, helped our dog with fluids, but in the end there wasn't much that could be done. One morning our dog was in so much pain that we loaded him in the car. At 70 lbs, that was a chore and it made our dog hurt even more. Dr. Jesske came out to our car, helped to calm our dog (and us), and put our dog to sleep in the car as we had already arranged to have him cremated. Dr Jesske cared about us as much as he did our dog. All three vets have seen our newest German Shepherd puppy. That poor little guy ate some rawhide when he was just 10 weeks old and it made him VERY sick. All three vets were involved in caring for him on an emergency basis. The vet techs are also soooo caring. Marissa always gives our little shepherd puppy extra attention. Its so fun to watch Dr. Knott and Dr Hull get down on the floor at puppy level to care for them. As far as costs, you get what you pay for, They always give us options on tests and treatments. We are never taken advantage of, even when our emotions were highest during the death of our old dog and the severe illness of our puppy. I could give so many more examples...

In 2017 I lost my service furbaby. In October of this year I lost his sister. Both of them are together again through the AAH. This year losing my little girl about caused me to lose myself in the process. At the same time I blamed ONE Dr. at AAH I had trusted and been going to for many, many years for the loss of my little girl. If it had not been for the God given genuine kindness of Dr. Jay, and his caring heart, and his knowledge of what i had truly been through with her brother the previous year, and the tragic incident now with his sister dying so suddenly, I don't know how i would be doing. My point to all of this? It takes a VERY special person to become a Dr. of Veterinary medicine to begin with... it takes an EXTRA SPECIAL person to become that, AND have the kind, caring, loving compassion for someone like me, who felt very lost, and alone, angry at one of the vets, and mad at the world for my tragedy! Not every veterinarianary clinic holds such a caring staff ( and they are! ) and such a wonderful Dr. as Dr. Jay! So thank you again for all that you do. There are not enough positive things to say about the staff and Dr. Jesske, the level of care, compassion and empathy are above and beyond. When our Sophie ducked out of her collar in the parking lot at AAH, the response was immediate - staff out looking for her, a post on the website, comfort box placed outside for shelter and food. During the 4 1/2 day ordeal the staff continued to search for her and check on us. The posting on AAH website lead to information leading us to her location. We tracked her for hours. Dr. J called me to see if we had seen her, when I said I was looking right at her, staff troops, including Dr J came to our rescue and help us capture her. We could not have done it without them. AAH has provided exceptional care to our previous pets. We would not take our animals anywhere else.
