I brought in my dog Phoebe to VEG after she hadn’t been eating for a few days and she ended up needing emergency surgery to get her uterus removed. The staff at VEG were very kind and understanding and I was so grateful that they were able to do her surgery right away. I am so thankful for their generosity and for them helping me the way they did. I will recommend them to everyone. Phoebe is recovering and is now eating again and feeling much better. Thank you guys for saving my dog’s life and for being so kind I appreciate you all very much!!!

We were visiting from NC. Our labradoodle got a double eye infection. From the minute we walked in it was first class treatment!!!! Everyone was very welcoming… All smiles and caring!!! While in the waiting room you have drinks and treats available. The Vet who took care of our pup was absolutely Amazing!!!! We wish we could pack this office and team up and bring them back down to NC with us!!! A++++++++++++++++++++

I wanted to come here and write a review because this wonderful team made me feel at ease from the moment I walked in. My dog Tyson is an elderly dog, and he isn’t the easiest dog to deal with. But the team really knew how to keep him calm. And Dr.Beth Chapman was absolutely incredible! Answered all my questions, explained everything so thoroughly and just made me feel comfortable. I just want to say thank you again to the whole team!

I was visiting my folks from out of town with my dog when he sliced open his paw pad pretty good on some broken glass. A quick Google search later, and I found this VEG location. The staff is extremely friendly, understanding, and patient. They take the time to explain everything to you and answer all questions. The staff also allows you to be with your best friend in the back (space permitting) while they are getting treated, which was a huge comfort during a super stressful time. Thank you Dr. Mancino and team for taking care of my dog. I highly recommend this VEG location for any pet emergency needs.

I’m a vet assistant that has been to many facilities over the years trying to find the perfect vet, my cleft palate puppy with severe pneumonia had to be transferred to a 24 vet and we chose VEG. I have never in my life been more happy with a service. We cannot stress enough how much we appreciate everyone’s work and how they run the place. They are so kind and have an open door policy for you to visit your pup. I’ll never forget their kindness. Yoda is doing so well!!!!!!!!!!!!! He has an appointment with a cleft palate specialist next month. Thank you so much again.

I have been to this center twice now, and I can say that their care to my pet and myself has been absolutely stellar. The first time I went, it was definitely an emergency. I am a stoic and composed individual, but I was obviously worried. They noticed immediately and did everything in their power to make sure Lydia (my cat) was taken care of. My second visit last night, the remembered my cat's issues, and immediately prescribed the medicine that will help her out. They've treated me with nothing but kindness, and I can't overstate enough how much of an amazing practice they are. I'd like to give a specific shout out to Megan Rose. She has been patient, kind, and extremely helpful as I figure out strategies to combat Lydia's reoccurring FLUTD issues. She's been a star, and if I am ever in need of emergency vet care, I will recommend this specific facility because of her. Here's hoping Lydia pulls through this recent health scare. We brought our puppy miles here after he was vomiting excessively. Even though it was a Sunday, he got very good care and ended up having exploratory abdominal surgery. All of the staff was very kind and let my husband stay next to the cage all night, even bringing him coffee. Miles is OK despite a rough recovery and I’m happy that we found somewhere we can go in an emergency.

My 2 crazy puppies ate a battery. I brought them in on a Sunday, and the staff was so sweet with them. They were taken care of quickly and efficiently. We were given a room right away, which made it so much easier to keep them from jumping on everyone. The staff here is amazing!

VEG saved our 8 year old yorkie’s life last week. She had acute pancreatitis which is a life threatening condition that requires prompt diagnosis and treatment, and we thankfully had a happy ending. Lola is fully recovered with a new low fat diet. We are grateful she was taken immediately. She’s 4 pounds and she was vomiting blood for several hours. Dr Davis and MeganRose were excellent, and during Lola’s 2 night weekend admission, communication with rotating docs was excellent, and all were bright and helpful. My wife was out of town, and VEG made things as good as possible for us, and my family and I are grateful for your availability, expertise and help that cold night 2/19/22. I am so glad we found this place. My normally active 6 year old dog suddenly stopped wanting to walk and then soon after stopped wanting to eat. I couldn’t get him into my usual vet or a vet near our home, but VEG was able to see him immediately. They were very friendly and were very good with my dog. Excellent communication and rapid evaluation. We soon found out after looking at the blood work and clinical signs that my dog was lepto positive even though he is fully vaccinated and really doesn’t go anywhere and isn’t around other dogs (so it wasn’t their first thought). After diagnosis, treatment was quick and he responded very well. It was a 24 hour stay—but so glad he was there. Yes, it is pricey, but the care is excellent and the staff are also great. They kept me up to date throughout his stay. . I have now signed up for pet insurance—my bad for not having done so sooner. But the care here was excellent, my dog is really doing well and they sent all info quickly to my regular vet. Can’t thank them enough!

We took our puppy Ziggy here and we absolutely loved this vet. They took amazing care of us and my boy is doing so much better. Dr. Kunisch was exceptional as well as the nurses Eileen and Krystal! Best part was that they were so great with Ziggy he wasn’t scared or freaking out. I would definitely recommend visiting these wonderful people when it comes to an emergency with your baby.

I was a hysterical mess when my dog Fetty wasn't responsive. As soon as I arrived he was taken in immediately and worked on. The staff offered me water and calmed Mr down so they can better access my dog. He is doing great now and I owe it to the prompt and fast attention of the doctor's. This place is the best!!

We haven't needed an emergency vet since we moved to Central Jersey. So when disaster struck with our Prada the French bulldog, I'm happy we found VEG. The doctors were not just professional and friendly, they were also kind. We were seen right away when I explained the severity to the receptionist on the phone. They explained everything they were doing while we were there and let us stay with her for hours until we left around 11 PM. I woke up to pictures and update texts sent overnight by several nurses and doctors who clearly cared, and even brought a bed in for her. Prada is on the mend and it's all thanks to VEG, Dr. Tippy, Dr. Davis, Nurse Kitty, and the entire staff. I could not be happier and will gladly recommend VEG as an emergency vet to my friends, family and customers.

THANK YOU VEG!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Today 1/29/21 at 12-2 am Dr Harries and his team saved my baby’s life ! My pup Ducky is a 14 week old pitbull American bulldog male who was having a complication with his private area. His team , Krystal, Amanda, Isyabel, and Sinead were absolutely amazing, I couldn’t ask for a better group of girls. They were very kind and compassionate to my pup and I. The whole time they were making sure my ducky felt as comfortable as he can in the situation. You can tell when someone genuinely wants to help the animal In crisis and not just care about getting paid, they were incredible. I’m still at a loss for words I am sooo happy that my baby is home healthy with me because of VEG. As soon as I walked in the door they took me straight to the back to start working on him. They wasted NO time trying to make my little buddy feel better and I was able to be with him the entire time which made me feel better as well. Dr Harries was quite a gentleman, very thoughtful and kind. Treats your pet as if they were his own. I definitely wouldn’t take my pet anywhere else if i had an emergency. I would forever go to veterinary emergency group. Thank you guys so much for saving my baby! ❤️

I cannot say enough good things about this hospital. The staff were all so warm and professional when I brought my cat Luna in. They were extremely busy but made sure one of the doctors saw her ASAP because she was having issues breathing. They even let me hold her while being examined to keep her (relatively) calm. The doctor explained all of my options after examining Luna and patiently took the time to answer all of my questions. All of the staff were so personable and helped me feel much more at ease. Honestly, I’d go back to them for regular veterinary care if they ever opened up a non-emergency practice. I’d highly recommend trusting VEG with your furry best friend.

When I tell you this is the best emergency vet I truly mean it. All staff is so friendly, reassuring, and helpful. I called and a young man answered the phone and stood calm as I was in clear panic. He gave clear step by step directions took my information and as soon as my cat and I came into the facility they took him in right away for examination. Dr Alexander De la Rosa was extremely professional and compassionate with my kitty and so was her staff. They allowed me to be by my kitty’s side and walked me through each step. They then sent me over a full treatment plan as well as a discharge paper emailed right to me with a detailed report to pass along to our primary vet. The office was updated and very clean. If you and your pet God forbid have a medical emergency don't second guess yourself and bring them here. Truly a fantastic office. Thank you again to the VEG staff ❤️🙏🏼

Excellent place! I had to put down my dog recently and they made it easy for me. I called and they had a gurney ready for me, and helped me through the terrible emotions. They were compassionate and I was relieved they had urns for the ashes. They think of everything.

When my cat Bookabutt blocked, I was so overwhelmed and stressed and unaware of the severity of the situation I almost couldn't believe it... until I spoke to Dr. De la Rosa who reassured me that this was a serious situation and that Bookabutt needed to be admitted right away. I felt very discouraged about the whole situation. Having made phone calls to dozens of veterinarians, shelters and rescue centers and coming up empty. I felt hopeless in providing my cat with the necessary care that he needed to overcome his health problem. I didn't know how to move forward. But Dr. De la Rosa and her team restored my hope by giving Bookabutt an opportunity to live and not die. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, a better emergency veterinarian office, or a better veterinarian. Brought my Bosco in for an emergency visit and the staff moved quickly better than any other clinic I been to in the past. The doctors worked fast and cared for him as if he was their own. My small dog was having allergic reaction to food I switched; not only was he scratching excessively but he was becoming lethargic. Our regular vet was totally booked today. I read the reviews on VEG and decided to come here. As soon as I walked in the door I felt the energy of calmness (which is important to me and my dog). Very professional staff and doctor; the place is clean. They are pricey but what vet isn’t. They took labs and over a treatment plan. I left satisfied. I would recommend them them just in customer service alone. Thank you!

I can't say enough good things about this veterinary group and the staff there. They are incredibly responsive on the phones and are excellent at rapidly triaging your situation when you arrive. You see a vet right away. And if your situation needs immediate care you get it. Pet parents should understand that just like human ERs emergencies happen and sometimes a more critical situation will take precedent and you may have to wait. But even in those situations, I received frequent attention, was able to stay with my pet, and received effective care. Estimates for services are presented clearly and with detailed costs. Most recently, our dog had to stay overnight and they encouraged me to check in as often as I wanted to. They were always so friendly and helpful when I called and kept me well informed of how our pup was doing. Thank you so much - you all are terrific!

Words can't express how much we appreciate VEG. We brought our cat here in the middle of the night around 10:30pm because she started to act funny and was laying in her litter box which wasn't like her. VEG was quick to get her blood, did xrays and check what may be going on. The Dr. that was in and the staff were amazing. They connected the dots that something wasn't right as she had a really high fever and she would need an ultrasound. The Dr. did the absolute most for us to help our cat by calling in an ultrasound Dr. so he could check her out first thing in the morning. We left her overnight in their care so they could continue to monitor. In the morning before we came to get her, the ultrasound Dr. came in checked her and realized she may have a blockage, possible pancreatitis. They recommended we take her to a 24/7 hospital like Garden State Vet Specialist in Tinton Falls which we were familiar with as as we had just had our other cat hospitalized there for a week the week prior. When we arrived to GS Vet Specialist, they at first thought we were over reacting but soon realized all of VEG's findings were right and she was having a serious emergency which required hospitalization and possible surgery. They said we acted fast and did the right thing. We were so glad that VEG helped in the care of our cat while they had her. We think because of them it saved our cat. We are forever thankful and so is our cat Bibi.

I’ve never actually visited this location, but their telephone number is at the top of our vet-supplied emergency contact list (for good reason!). We’ve thankfully never needed to visit in person, but we have called them 3 times. Each time, we receive patient, thoughtful, supportive and reassuring advice. We called this morning—Christmas Day, no less!—with an intermediary care question as our vet is closed. They answered on the second ring and immediately provided helpful and important medical information. Thank you so much to Veterinary Emergency Group!

I rarely write reviews. But I must when it comes to this veterinarian practice. My experience was over 1 year ago and I cannot forget it. When I brought my newly rescued dog there, who, at the time suffered from severe separation anxiety, they could see I was exhausted. He was overcoming some health issues.They offered to have me leave my dog there step out and get some coffee. When I returned..although I left my dog in one of their crates, I came back to see him calmly in the arms of the vet as she was charting. She was calming him down. Such a simple gesture cannot go unnoticed. My baby boy ended up just fine. What an amazing practice they have! Although I hope to not see them again in the near future 😉 lol. But I know they are there whenever I need them.

I wanted to make a point of writing a review because Dr Davis and the two vet techs were so wonderful when I was worried my cat might have a urinary blockage at 4am. They were compassionate, upbeat, and I could tell they really cared about my pet. I loved that I got to stay with him the entire time as well. I’d definitely recommend them for any pet emergency!

I can honestly I am so happy with the service we received here. Highly recommend this hospital. We arrived here and was immediately taken care of. Our puppy had a allergic reaction to some vaccines. Our poor puppy's face was so swollen and we were so nervous for him as this is our first puppy and for us at such a young age. It was terrifying for us to watch our loved fur baby the way he was so uncomfortable. From the front desk, back team and Dr Mancino were beyond great. The dedication, compassion, heart they put into their work is something you do not see much now a days. Had to bring my 16 year old cat to VEG because he was having labored breathing on a holiday, when nobody was available. My regular vet was closed and I was to being referred to hospitals that were over an hour away. Thank goodness for this place! Our dog was limping and not using one of his back legs and I cannot fully express how absolutely amazing VEG was. Our dog is easily scared and nervous, but the team was so gentle and compassionate with him! They even flipped him over for an X-ray and he didn’t flinch because they were so gentle. My cat, Ellie, had an eye irritation for several days and we couldn't get in to her regular vet. VEG of Union was able to see us fairly quickly. Both techs (sorry didn't get their names) and Dr. Jennifer K were so great with Ellie, who was not super happy to be at the vet's office. Everyone there put us at ease and explained Ellie's meds well. It's the day after and her eye is already looking much better!

I have to leave a review because I won’t be able to sleep tonight I came to them at almost 9 am today august 11 to seek medical help for my 10 week old French bulldog name Ari that was having difficult breathing and vomiting my sweet poor baby was almost lifeless the dr dellinger and her team have the extra mile and beyond to treat Ari and make her feel better she ended up having aspiration pneumonia and getting worst I did everything to try and help her and the team as well very gentle and always very attentive all of them i didn’t want to see my puppy suffer and decide to let her go and they were there with me in that difficult moment guiding me try the whole process I’m beyond destroy but I want to thanks all of the with the bottom of my hearth for what they did I really appreciate guys

Hospitality at it's best. Going to an ER,whether it's for a 2 legged person or 4 my family and I had an amazing experience today. We woke to Tigger screaming and had to rush him in. Owning many pets, I am so happy we found a great emergency hospital. I totally trust the staff at VEG to treat our animals. They are knowledgeable, compassionate and kind. We were so lucky in finding VEG for a late Fri night emergency with our 10 mo old pup, Maddie. Maddie had gotten into a small bottle of eyedrops while we were away. We called the ASPCA who recommended we take her to emergency care right away as eyedrops are poisonous and can be fatal to dogs. From the moment we walked in, the staff and Dr. at VEG were amazing. They were so attentive to taking care of Maddie. She needed fluids and some meds and the Dr and staff was on top of checking her heart rate and blood pressure every hour. They also made myself and my boyfriend comfortable as we ended up staying for most of the night. Luckily within almost 24 hrs, Maddie was slowly starting to feel back to normal. Her heart rate and blood pressure were back to normal and she was a happy pup again. I could not thank VEG enough as this was our first major scare with our pup and we were so worried. While pricey, the care was top notch and well worth it. We also have pet insurance which covered a good chunk - so again worth every penny. Thank you VEG team!

I was clipping my Puppy Summer’s nails and clipped a little to much nail and it cause her nail to bleed heavily. I came to VEG immediately and they stopped the bleeding asap. I was so grateful. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the group of professionals who helped our sweet bunny Frappe. Frappe had an emergency and needed to be seen quickly. We rushed him down here and he was taken back to be seen in less than 5 minutes. Everyone listened to our concerns about what was happening to him and gave him a very thorough evaluation. They monitored him, treated him, and checked on him, and us, often. We were even able to stay right with him the whole time. Not only did they provide excellent care to our sweet boy, but we witnessed the amazing care and compassion they provided to ever other animal that was not feeling the best. We cannot thank you all enough. It means so much what you all did for us and Frappe. He truely is our family member and we cannot imagine not having him with us, and thanks to all of you, we were able to bring our fur baby back home, feeling much better! Frappe sends many thanks as well!!

Our 14 year old rescue was diagnosed with a tumor in his chest mid summer. Within 2 months it doubled in size causing much distress.After being turned away by our usual vet practice we turned to Veg in union nj. They were the right people to turn too. Within 10 minutes isaac was being attended too. Staff showed compassion, for our pet as well as for me. 4 major cases Within an hour and the staff continued to do its work. In time of need a pet owner wants and needs professionals who hear them and guide them every step of the way. Dr.La Rosa did that for us. Our outcome was not as hoped but I know I have a place to turn should an emergency arise again

We had taken our pet (bichon) to VEG, Rover was not able stand on back legs, he was immediately been taken care by the doctor and they have given tablets and a spray. Rover was able was back to normal within a week. Everything went smooth they understood the problem very fast, thanks for the quick response and I would suggest this place.

This place was a saving grace for my kitty who was going through anaphylactic shock!!! The workers were compassionate, patient, and thorough. I could not recommend another urgent care for anxious pet parents like myself. Overall awesome job from all the workers here!!!

This place is an absolute gem. I called about my dog that was in pain and they told us that indeed it was an emergency but have us the reason why before we arrived. Usually places do not care wether or not it’s actually an emergency and want your money. My dog was not supposed to be see right away due to another surgery but before going into the surgery the doctor took her initial observations and called us. After surgery she checked again and was still unable to determine what was wrong with our pup. She called us and stated she could send him home with medication and allow us to visit our own vet for further care or she offered to do XRays and possibly figure out something she could not physically observe. She was not pushy or condescending. I did not feel pressure from the vet as I have before. With the feeling that it wasn’t a money grab I went ahead and signed for X-rays and was able to find out my dog had 3 unobservable conditions. We can now follow up with our own vet and figure out treatment and for that I’m thankful!

The staff members at the vet emergency group in Union were some of the most kind, compassionate, and helpful people who have ever cared for our pup. Our puppy swallowed two chew toys, so we took him to VEG where we were met with kind, calm, and helpful staff members who not only took great care of our puppy, but also eased our anxieties. I never wish a pet emergency on anyone, but if you have one, go here!

Had to bring my pup in today for an emergency. What a fabulous ER Veterinary office!! They were so gentle with my dog, very thorough & actually listened to me. The Dr gave me 3 different ways we can go to handle the dogs issue, which no ER vet ever does. End story, my pup has pancreatitis. He's home tonight as he wasn't severe enough to be hospitalized. He came home & seems to be a little bit better tonight just from what they did this afternoon. So happy we went here today & not any other emergent care place.

Amazing people. My dog was attacked and bit pretty bad by another dog on the weekend and not being from the area I took her to the nearest emergency hospital. They were simply amazing, the doctor was an absolute life saver and patched my dog up and kept us feeling comfortable. I’ve never had a good experience at an emergency animal hospital until this one. I normally don’t post reviews, but it just wouldn’t be right if I didn’t. We came in on a weekend after our 14 year old cat has been lethargic for a few days, and we were greeted with the nicest staff. We did have to wait a while (completely understandable, there was a critical patient who came in right after us). However, we were given updates throughout our wait time, refreshments and snacks were available, the staff were so accommodating. They spoke such sweet words of encouragement to my cat, and treated him like he was their own. It really made my heart swell. Our sweet boy ended up falling asleep in the waiting room with how calm he was! The doctor made sure to explain every single step in the process, including our invoice to make sure we were informed of everything going on and had zero surprises. We were informed of our options and the staff even sent over all results to our primary veterinarian for ongoing care. We were able to go in the back to accompany our pet, which meant so much to us that we were able to be with him every step of the way. Our pets are our family, which is exactly the way they were treated. We recently moved up north, and we were so nervous about finding the right place to send our Simba if something goes wrong. I am so relieved to say that we can rest easy knowing these guys are there for us. So thank you, from the bottom of our heart, for making such a scary experience one full of comfort and assurance.

I had to bring my dog to the ER about a little over 3, almost 4 weeks ago as he hadn't been acting himself. I had just knew something hadn't been right but you don't go to the vet thinking the worst. You think your pet will be checked out and the vet will give a miracle medicine that will make your pet feel better instantly. I appreciate the service that this ER gave me. The vet Dr. was upfront and honest with me with the possible outcome I would have to face but also very empathetic to the situation. It was a difficult heart wrenching decision to make but they handled everything with care and were comforting. I got my pup's ashes back on valentine's day and it's been still hard to get use to him physically not being with me. I just went out for a walk with my other dog and got the mail and saw this touching card from the ER. Thank you for this sweet touch. It really shows me the love and care you guys provide to all of us who are healing through a difficult time. You guys as vet doctors and vet techs always go above and beyond and I thank you again for all that you do💙

We called to bring in our pet and immediately was transferred to a doctor. He explained the process and we went right away. The wait was short, the staff was pleasant, the clinic was clean and the doctor knowledgeable. They took care of her properly and the pricing was decent. I came to VEG after a vet messed up my dog during a standard ACL surgery. Everyone was so kind, compassionate, and caring about my dog. They recommended we take our dog to another vet center that had neurologists because the Dr suspected our dog had nerve damage. I appreciated her and honesty and how caring she was. VEG took amazing care of our dog, Maple, during our recent emergency! We were so impressed by the friendliness, professionalism and thoughtfulness of the entire staff. Maple is especially nervous at the vet, and everyone took extra care to make sure she was comfortable even when it required extra patience. We always felt she was in excellent hands and the staff did an amazing job keeping us up to date with her progress and remained calm during a stressful situation. Even when the staff switched over, the flow of information was seamless and it was really easy to communicate with the new team. We would recommend VEG to anyone requiring urgent vet care!

I went in for my dogs severe ear infection and other associated issues on Wednesday night May 4th; it was a bit of a wait and I had to leave before I could get attended because of work the next day. That wasn’t a great first impression. However, the following day when I went in around 3pm and Dr. Beth Chapman and Megan Rose helped me out, it was a much better experience. The wait was still a bit long but under the circumstances at the time it was understandable. They were both really great with Brownie (my dog) and very thorough. They kept me informed the whole time and answered any and all questions. Overall, it was a good visit and we got Brownie going home with a solid plan for his infection.

A wonderful facility! The staff and doctor seemed to be busy however, we were seen quickly and they took the time to listen and care for my dog as if it were their own. My dog tends to be nervous in any veterinarian facility, the staff and Doctor picked up on this right away and took the time to ease her nerves. Dr. Kunisch was outstanding! Any time you are at the ER it’s traditionally a terrible time. Because of the volume of patients, it was a while before I could be seen. During that time, each new pet brought in was welcomed warmly and with sincere compassion. Their owners were listened to and respected. I was checked in with frequently, and never felt ignored or lost in the shuffle. Mocha was treated like an old friend, and given excellent and warm care. I did not at any time feel upsold or swindled. I wish they weren’t just an emergency vet. Wonderful all around! May you never need emergency vet care, but if you do, go here! everyone was great with my dog, Nate. They were friendly and even let my son and I go inside the building. Even we got to be with Nate while he got bloodwork. The doctor came out to the waiting room to meet Nate and didnt stick us in a room with the door shut. Wonderful and caring place. This week was the first emergency I had with my 8 year old pup. Anxiously trying to find emergency vets I came across VEG. I am so happy that I did. As soon as I came through the door it was obvious the staff was caring, compassionate, and competent. My dog was treated as it was one of their own. I as well was taken care of which was above and beyond. All diagnostics were thorough and treatment was excellent. All of the staff were great at communication and explaining what was going on. The vet tech spent a lot of time with us overnight to make sure we were comfortable. All the way until we were discharged they prepared my car and made sure he was good to go. Definitely would recommend to family/friends and would bring my pup back if ever needed in the future. Thank you.

I took my cat to VEG last night for an emergency, she was weak, drooling and twitching. The doctors and team quickly taking care of my fur baby cat Sparkle. She is feeling much better now after the care and praying that she will completely heal from whatever causing her illness, and hopefully no abdominal issues in the future. Been here already twice for extremely critical cases with my dog. I’m very happy with services provided - staff is great, doctors are knowledgeable, glad I can count on them any time an accident happens, wouldn’t go to any other vet ER service in the area. BUT, man, does it cost thousands of dollars... each time I left $3500 there... obviously I don’t blame them for it, that’s just how much emergency care costs. Just be prepared - get your pets insurance, open carecredit, sell your kidney (joking! Or am I?), do whatever it takes, because your furbabies are counting on you to take care of them!

Best place to take your pets to. So 2yrs ago my brown tabby all of a sudden got deathly sick and I didn't know where to take her because it was late at night and on the weekend. Thankfully I found this hospital and the staff that was on call and the staff that came in to start the new shift went above and beyond for us. Any chance I get, I brag about how amazing this place is. Sadly that day our tabby had to be put down, but again they were just absolutely amazing. They then sent us a nice sympathy card with everyone's name. When I fist did this review, it was not long after she passed so I couldn't really say much, but I wanted to change my review and just say how much I love this place and highly recommend.

Honestly, I came in here in the middle of the night and was helped immediately. There was no wait time and I was seen almost on instant. I got to sit with my cat, which a lot of places don’t let you do. It’s scary and I cried a few times because of the situation. But Dr. Dollinger was so sweet and so helpful and I didn’t feel judged crying like a baby lol. She explained the whole ordeal to me patiently and helped as much as she could. The place is pretty pricey, honestly, but the staff really show they care about the animals they’re working with. They handled my anxious cat with care and patience. That’s the kind of people I would want taking care of my pets.

I was very impressed with the staff and knowledge. My wife’s dog had diarrhea that was bloody. I was certain that he ate something sharp that caused this. They felt it was diet and nerves. After 24 hours this dog was heading back to normal. He was given probiotics and different medicine and it is working. They were caring, knowledgeable, and understanding. I have seen bad veterinarians but this place was awesome!!!! I would greatly recommend them to everyone.

I normally don’t write reviews but I had to share how truly amazing this group of people are. We were just there yesterday with our baby. We knew that things did not look good but were hoping for a miracle. Dr.Mancino and the other nurses were so comforting and explained everything to us. Though it was an extremely hard decision, we had to let our baby go. Throughout the process everyone was very nice and even offered us something to eat and drink. Brought my elderly dog in because she was coughing and I was worried about her heart. It was the middle of the night and the staff was up and ready to jump into action and take care of her. I’ve never heard of them and I always drove on route 22. But our vet recommended them for their 24 hour service. And wow, I loved it! The staff were super friendly and comprehensive towards my 3 cats. One cat had to stay overnight and the doctor even offered us to stay overnight with him if we wanted to!

BEYOND EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!!! Very professional, kind, compassionate, and helpful staff!!!! They did everything they could to make us feel comfortable leaving our fur Pomeranian baby in their hands and kept in contact with us every step of the way as they cared for Milo. We can really tell they all love what they do and have the best interests in our pets. Dr Harris and staff that worked Saturday night, were all extremely helpful and kind through the process of caring of our fur baby Milo. During these unprecedented times it’s extremely difficult leaving your pet in hands of strangers and having to trust that they will do their best to make them better BUT since the moment we step into the facility they made us feel at ease and comfortable leaving Milo in their hands. We truly appreciate their patience with us the owners for walking us through the entire process and explaining everything in detail. We need more people like them caring for our fur members through the world! I hope not to have to come back for something vital but if we have another emergency, we will not think twice and go directly to union veterinary emergency group. Even when I went back to pick up milos collar, everyone was so friendly and attentive. Amazing staff overall!!

On 5/11/22 I took my dog Rocky to Clark Animal Hospital he was latarjec. They failed in their treatment. On 5/12/22 I rushed Rocky to union vet and unfortunately his ailments were too far gone. Incredible facility. They took us right away, and let us use the back entrance because it was raining. They were so gentle, kind, and patient with our nervous dog. Facility was extremely clean. The doctor was excellent, along with the staff. Dog needed blood drawn, and the vet technician took her time to carefully make sure she found the vein in our dog’s thick fur. I’ve never seen my dog so comfortable with unfamiliar people. They took time to explain everything in detail, and answered all of our questions. Best emergency vet experience.

Review The level of professionalism and care my chocolate lab Peyton received was so comforting for myself as his owner. The caution the doctors took to avoid surgery if possible is something I highly value and turned out to be the right call. I greatly appreciate the amount of available tests that can be done at the facility to provide the most complete outlook for my dog. Most importantly, my dog looks like his happy self again. Both Dr. Saunders and Dr. Stark were a pleasure to work with. They both provided all the information I requested and took the time to explain their thought process to me, which gave me great peace of mind. From the moment I called the VEG Union location, I loved that the receptionist didn’t only seem concerned and caring once she answered the phone, but that she also put me on with the doctor right away for me to express what was going on with my dog. Dr. Harries along with the rest of the team were amazing with my Emily! Very attentive, diligent, professional, caring and consoling with Emily. I really appreciated how detailed they were with my hubby and I during her entire visit, letting us stay by her side while taking great care of her, giving us a play by play of what was going on, what they suggested and recommend. Great service and people. Took my Yorkie there on a late night because of stomach problems. They did a check up and prescribed some meds to get her back in shape. The wait was pretty long, but I can't fault them for that because there were unfortunately a lot of patients there. But they were kind, offered me a room where my dog and I could rest on a couch, offered me a beverage and they were all really caring individuals. I would definitely recommend you take your pet there if they need emergency attention.

It is so difficult to find a good vet in general - such a hit or miss especially when choosing an emergency vet. I chose to bring my cat to this location for two reasons: 1. The reviews were reassuring and 2. I was previously impressed when calling this location and receiving advice over the phone without having to bring my cat in (I was reassured that my cat's case was not urgent and I could save the trip those previous two times). That level of compassion & honesty above money instilled lots of trust in me that this place would be the best to take care of my pets in an emergency and it did not steer me wrong when that time came. In reviewing my recent visit, I was impressed with the professionalism & compassion of the staff. I knew my cat was in good hands with even the vet assistants. As for the vets, again I was impressed with the level of professionalism, compassion, knowledge, and candor within financial matters. Discussing the high finances that come with vet appointments can be overwhelming for anyone. It's especially overwhelming for me because of the financial burden recent severe medical issues have placed on me. I've been to vets that wouldn't know that about me...yet would make me uncomfortable because I need to break down the costs meticulously in what I can afford before making a decision. Union Veterinary Emergency Group did not make me feel a shred of shame and approached the topic delicately. The best part?? The staff not only allowed, but encouraged me to call as many times as I'd like to check in or visit my pet since she had to stay overnight. I lost my childhood dog when he went into cardiac arrest at an overnight emergency clinic, and that experience that he died alone still haunts me to this day. Knowing and being encouraged to come by freely took so much anxiety out of me with leaving my cat there. Thank you Dr. Harries & Dr. Kunisch. The entire staff took a very nerve wracking situation, and handled the entire process from A to Z in a way that made both myself and my cat feel as comfortable as possible. Will not go anywhere else since having this positive experience.

My puppy ate a mushroom on a Friday night. I called the hospital and spoke to a dr who gave me the number of poison control. But also sent me a link to checkin in case I had to bring my puppy in. I brought my puppy in and immediately was taken to the back when Allison called poison control. Dr. Yogari was amazing with my puppy as well as all the staff working . I had to leave her there over night and the staff helped calm me down and make me feel better. Allison text me as soon as the blood work came in so I could sleep. My puppy ripped out her IV but the staff was so patient with her and they all loved her. When I went to pick her up they all were saying how much they loved her. I went back 24 hours later for more bloodwork and had a great experience again. My puppy was in great hands. I would go back EVG and recommend to everyone. Thank you for taking such good care of my crazy little lady and her nervous wreck of a mom.

My puppy seemed normal tonight until I went to pick him. He let out a terrible squeal, and that’s when I noticed the huge lump on his leg. He was limping and clearly in pain. I worried I wouldn’t be able to get help late at night, but I called the Veterinary Emergency Group and they were able to tell me the likely cause right away. They reassured me and had me bring him in for a checkup and treatment. Unlike other medical centers, they let you stay with your pet throughout the entire process. My puppy is a little timid, and even more so tonight because of the pain. I was relieved when two wonderful veterinary assistants gained his trust and took care of him. He was not an easy patient, but they were very gentle and kind. Turns out my pup had an allergic reaction and was much better after a shot and some pain medication. Though not life threatening, I had been completely in the dark without their help, and the veterinarian did a great job explaining what was going on and what to look out for in the future. I’m relieved to know I have people I can trust to help make sure my little guy is safe. He may not be able to show his appreciation, but I definitely can. Thank you all for what you do!

This place is great. The doctor (Dr. Mancino) and the vet techs ( MeganRose, Tyler, Ashlynn, and Maria) went above and beyond to help my Puppy. They are so accommodating and just genuinely care about you and your animal. Not only did they treat my puppy with care but everyone else’s pets In there as well. This was my first time needing emergency care for my pup and I was extremely nervous and anxious. Lindsey, Dr. Harries, nurses and techs were all so informative and caring. The facility was clean and well organized. If I ever need emergency care for my pup again, I will be returning.

I have never been here before. I have always been to another emergency vet. I clipped my pups nails... and one cracked while I was cutting it. It was bleeding everywhere. I had never done that before and I panicked. I called the original emergency vet and they said that they closed at 11. It was 10:45. I told them I would be there before 11, but they suggested I go somewhere else. Well, I did.... and guess what... I will not be returning to the other place. They lost my business. Here, I was greeted by 2 very helpful people that treated his nail right in the interior walkway. I wasn’t sure if it was a big deal or not, but I panicked because of the blood. They were both very kind, helpful, and I immediately felt comfortable. I have 3 pups and if any of them ever need emergency care, I know where I will be bringing them. I believe one of the staff’s names were Taylor, if I remember the name on the shirt correctly. I didn’t catch the name of the other person.... but I was very grateful.

Chances are you never want to end up at a vet emergency clinic. But your grateful they exist 100% of the time. My dogs eyelid had gotten completely lacerated and was in need of immediate attention. In 2 hours we were back home, stitched up and resting. Taking care of my dog is my number one priority. But if your anything like me, what stands out is love towards your dog, empathy, and understanding. I hope my dogs won’t need future visits here but my heart and mind are at ease knowing they are in good hands. VEG has fully gained our trust. This is truly a passion of the staff, something you can sense without even personally stepping a foot inside. Thank you Dr Ben and staff, we could never repay you.

Great staff! I called in before my visit about my pet’s well-being and they made me feel very safe about what will happen to my pet once I bring them to the facility. As we arrived, they took my pet (because there were a limited amount of people who could enter due to COVID-19). Once others left, they let us come inside and join our pet. Spend much of last night at VEG, we’re tired, but our cat was sooo well taken care of and loved. From the moment we called, Maria made us feel like we were in good hands. Once we arrived, Maria and Thea took us right back and examined our kitty to determine the severity of his case. It was a busy night with some higher priority cases, but we didn’t mind the wait as it reassured us that if our cat was in critical condition they would have been all hands on deck right away. Thankful for the whole staff at VEG, what a great operation and group of people. Blessings to the doc, the techs, and everyone there last night.

First emergency with my one year old pup, Bert. So glad this was the place. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. The wait was not long at all and you get to stay with your pup which is very helpful since Bert is fearful of new things and places. Wish I could go to them for all his vet services!! No one wants to go to emergency vet, but it’s comforting to know these guys are there when it’s needed.

I brought in my 15 month old dog, Aspen, because her face swelled up out of nowhere. She had been throwing up for two days and now she was having an allergic reaction to something. They took her in right away and were very kind to me and Aspen. They gave her injectable antihistamine to help the swelling. There was no way of knowing if the vomiting and the swelling were related. I chose to wait a day to see if the swelling and vomiting went away. The swelling went down but not entirely and the vomiting continued. She couldn’t keep Benadryl down to help the swelling. So I brought her back in and they did all the necessary testing to rule other things out. They gave her fluids, anti-vomit, and more injectable Benadryl to help her get getter. This morning aspen is feeling, acting and looking more like herself. A big thank you to everyone at VEG for the care they gave to Aspen.

The veterinarians and assistants were wonderful! We brought our dog in for emergency care following a scuffle with another dog. Needless to say, we were very upset and scared. They immediately took our dog to examine and gave us an honest assessment of his condition. They were kind and gentle and kept reassuring us that our pooch would be okay. They took amazing care of our dog -- and us! And we all are now comfortably recuperating at home. I hope that we will never again need emergency veterinary services, but if we do, we know exactly where we will go!

Today on May 18th 2020 the physician's at this facility are wonderful and caring. My cat Anna started acting weird and drooling ,so I brought her in and without delay they seen her and took care of her with no problem. They made me and my wife feel very comfortable and explained everything to us the whole step of the way. During our visit two fellow pet owners brought their member in and it passed, (my prayers are with them) and the physicians where very sympathetic to the couple, made them comfortable in their time of grief. My dog is a 10 year old pitbull that can be grumpy around strangers but they knew exactly how to deal with him and he was very comfortable with them. My pet Zoe was diagnosed with Meningitis about a month ago, at Red bank hospital which is 45 min away from me. She was given chemo shots to be administered at home which we were having a very difficult time with. She had total of 4 dosages to take over the course of 2 days. This is now the second set of shots that Vet Emergency Group has helped us with and once again we were told to come right in ! Even though this time around I spoke with doctor directly and she explained that we could come in but as any emergency room, we could potentially be waiting few hours since they had other really sick patients. We went in expecting to wait a while but we were in there total of 4 min and the shots were done no problem. Again we were not charged for this and everyone treated us with such amazing care. I’m forever thankful for your help. Not to mention prior to these shots , they had never seen Zoe before and there was no hesitation or turn away. Thank you so so much !

Yesterday I had a great experience, my dog is my daughter, they responded immediately, in less than 45 minutes my dog was stable, was checked her belly, they put fluids and I took her home feeling better. They don’t charge you before telling you how much is going to be and you decide if you can pay or not and they do the best for your dog and your finances. In the unfortunate circumstance where a pet needs to be brought to an emergency veterinarian, this is the place to go. As many pet owners can relate, I have a very hard time trusting anyone with my babies. I wound up having to bring my German Shepherd here at the recommendation of my regular veterinarian when she fell quite ill this week. The entire staff blew my mind with how patient, caring and full of knowledge each of them are. My girl had to stay for over 24 hours. After spending a few hours there when I had to drop her off, I felt completely at ease with the care she would be receiving from such an amazing team. I would 100% come to VEG again if need be (fingers crossed I don’t) and I would recommend to anyone in need of an emergency veterinarian.

My primary vet had no appointments on Sunday afternoon with a continuing eye problem. Dr. Jennifer Kunisch and the staff were outstanding, the doctor got on the phone with me prior to my arrival, did a phone interview so that she can get a better idea of my doggie (Tiny) condition...her manner and expertise as a Doctor shows with the care and dedication to ensure proper treatment of our family member. I would and will recommend anyone looking for quality care of their loved family pets. I had a suddenly sick dog and my usual vet, and two referrals, were full on a Saturday. Thankfully, the Veterinary Emergency Group was not only ready to help, their bedside manner was informative, reassuring, caring, friendly and even fun. I almost didn't want to leave. To that amazing crew late last night to early in the morning when I walked in their with my fiancé and my cat, Jeter, who was having issues breathing. Even though I had to put him to sleep because just his overall physical state wasn’t good the past few days, how my fiancé and I were treated during that time was amazing. To us coming in and being assisted and then trying to give my cat the oxygen he needed, to the very end where he almost passed away and came back to say goodbye to us. We want to thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts how amazing you guys were to my cat and how you were with us in this terrible time and happening during the holidays. Our pup Timmy injured himself a few nights ago and we brought him in. The staff on call and Dr. Santiago were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They showed genuine concern and took care of Timmy as if he were there own pet. They had us in and out of there as quickly as possible. We brought Timmy back 4 days later for a follow up and to have his bandages removed. There was again no wait, and the staff and Dr. Dan were again incredibly helpful. After trying my luck at Banfield pet hospital in Pet Smart and getting no results after a 830$ bill i brought her to VEG, where she was kept over night and received the proper treatment that she needed. We are so grateful to the staff for taking care of our pup! She had a first time seizure at 10PM on a Sunday and VEG was open and took our call. They were efficient and reassuring. Dr. Kunisch was very good at explaining what was going on with my cat and answered all of my (sometimes absurd) questions. The staff I interacted with were all very friendly and made me feel comfortable with my cat being in their care. They even took a bit off my bill because I had to wait an extra long time as some critical patients came in that they had to see first which was an unnecessary but appreciated nonetheless. I'm glad that out of all the places I called, this is where I decided to take my cat.

I live 1.5 hrs away from VEG of Union, NJ but came here after being turned away from several emergency vet clinics in my area, being told me dog wasn’t in “critical condition”. Thank goodness VEG took my pup in immediately to be seen for his symptoms bc he was suffering from Pancreatitis! We had no idea that was the issue & if we waited any longer it would have only gotten worse. Dr. Edmister & staff were caring, attentive, warm & thorough. My wife and I picked up our new Puppy KARA on a Saturday. Everything was fine until late that night she started to cough to the point where it sounded like she was trying to throw something up. Looked it up online and it seemed that it might be Kennel cough. Our vet is closed on Sunday and it seems like a lot of other vets in the area are closed on Sunday as well. Did some research and found this place which is 5 minutes from my job so i was familiar with the area. So we packed up the family and headed out. Made it there about 9PM pm and there was no once else there. Someone met us at the door and showed us to the back. Everyone swarmed around ready to help. We showed them a video of her cough and they did a quick exam and very thoroughly explained our options. They did not push for needless services but let us know they were available if we wanted them. They gave her a little something to help with the cough and antibiotics to take with us. Everyone was very attentive and sweet to my little puppy. Yes it was a little expensive but you have to keep that in perspective. It is basically an ER for one of your little family members. We have a primary vet but this place is now our destination for every and all emergencies from now on.

My cat was diagnosed by our vet with a blocked bladder. The procedure and tests couldn't be done onsite, so they recommended I take him to the Vet Emergency Group on Route 22. The care and attention that was provided by Dr. Butler and her coworkers was completely above anything I have experienced. They were kind, informative, and able to provide immediate care for my little fella. After a long night on my end, I was happy to find my little guy up and back to his old self in the morning. They do great work here, and you can really tell they care a lot about their clients. I took our 10 week old kitten, who I had accidentally stepped on, to check for any internal injuries. The staff were so nice and after thoroughly checking our kitten over and taking x-rays, thankfully we could take him back home. i brought in my toy Maltese to the hospital Friday night because she had an extremely bad seizure.When i called in such a panic, the doctor on staff, calmed me down and explained to me exactly what to do in my crisis. I cant stress enough the compassion, caring, and excellent care my dog received. I was able to spend as much time as I wanted along with other family members and call anytime of the night.The doctor even reached out to me during the night to inform me of my dogs condition and what procedures would be taking place. The care my dog received from the doctors and staff was phenomenal, they made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend this hospital.

What a great experience. My Frenchie's paw was bothering him and he was limping a bit. i called Veg was able to speak to the vet and told I can bring him over anytime. When I arrived everyone was super friendly and tended to Pierre immediately. They made us feel right at home. I highly recommend VEG. We took our dog here at 2 am on a Saturday morning after he had a seizure for the first time. The staff was very friendly and took great care of our boy! They ran tests and took some X-rays and Dr. Yerovi called us to go over everything beforehand and afterwards with results. Although it was a scary experience, he turned out to be okay and I have confidence that Dr. Yerovi and his team would have done everything necessary to care for him had the situation been worse! Stephanie, the technician, and Dr Harries were supportive and comforting through the whole process. Ending a pet's life is always awful, but, when my mom put down my childhood cat, the vet she went to made the experience worse. This was not the case here. I strongly recommend this emergency center.

Had to take my kitten (8 weeks old) in for an emergency visit, and was admittedly nervous as the outlook did not seem good. Immediately, Lindsey and Krystal not only sprung into action, but proceeded to rain adoration and love onto my kitten. When he started to show positive signs, the enthusiasm and excitement in the room was palpable, not only from myself, but from Dr. Mello and her entire team. We had a big scare thinking our dog ingested something poisonous in our yard when he abruptly started gagging and clawing at his face/throat while playing in the yard. We called this number and the person was so nice and helpful. They suggested checking his mouth thoroughly b/c his face scratching could be a sign a stick was stuck in the roof of his mouth. Sure enough that was exactly what happened! What a relief! We could not be more grateful.

My little Woody (Morkie) became acutely ill late last Tuesday night, and from my first encounter with staff at the Union office, I knew he would be given the best care. Dr Baz and two vet techs were attentive to him immediately. All three clearly were highly competent and wonderfully compassionate. The fact that I could stay with my dog and see how well he was treated was a great comfort. All tests were done gently and efficiently. Dr Baz clearly and patiently explained results and necessary treatment. Woody was soon set up in a clean, comfortable bed, and his status was monitored throughout the night. When he transferred to his primary vet in the morning, his vet already had received VEG records and phone contact from Dr Baz. Woody steadily is recovering. I cannot thank the staff at VEG (Union) for their quick and caring response. I know they saved my little pup’s life.

The Doctor and team at the clinic was awesome! They helped us treat our cat (Paris) who was spayed at another clinic this morning. Paris was in severe pain and was not friendly at all. The team took full control of Paris and was able to calm her down and prescribe pain meds. What a life saver! My family and I were very stressed and worried about our Paris. I brought my dog for sutures after I “played” groomer and cut matted fur a little too close to his skin. His regular vet recommended VEG in Union for emergency care. It was as if Dr. Butler and her staff were waiting for Muffin. They were very professional and welcoming and kind and understanding. The facility was clean and bright. She provided options for his care and a payment plan as well as clear instructions for his recovery. He did well and 9 days later we returned to have his sutures removed. He recognized the staff and saw Dr. Bazewicz as well as Dt. Butler. I would definitely recommend the facility to anyone who needs emergency care for their pet.

My Pomeranian developed a limp in her hind leg, and the Veterinary Emergency Group was able to see her immediately. They were able to break down potential problems and offer recommendations based on their evaluation. They were very professional and extremely helpful. I had previously brought my other Pomeranian here, and while in the waiting area, he suffered a seizure. The staff here jumped to action, and helped with providing care, ensuring that Teddy Bear received the care that he needed. In both cases, they have help with finding the appropriate care to assist with both my dogs needs. They have also collaborated with my Primary Veterinarian. My baby Charlie has congusted heart failure for 2 days he had problems breathing. We walk into veterinary emergency group Union NJ. They took us right in started to evaluate him. Dr.J. Kunisch work on Charlie comfort my boyfriend an I on what the good the bad an the ugly. Put Charlie on oxygen got him stable. I though I was going to make the hardest decision they work with him so I could bring my Charlie home. No he's not 100% healthy but with medicine for life we can have him a little longer. The day my cat Rosalita needed emergency care, my usual animal hospital had a 6 to 8 hour wait. I called two other clinics, which were similarly overwhelmed. A kind receptionist at one of them told me about VEG in Union. The person I spoke to on the phone there was calming and told me there was about a two-hour wait to be seen (which proved accurate). Information was taken on the drive there to speed up the check in process. It was a very hot day and Rosalita was taken in quickly to get out of the heat. I was kept updated by phone or text. Dr. Mello explained the tests well and we left with medication to help Rosie until she could see her own vet. Dr. Mello's suspicion of Inflammatory Bowel Disease was correct. I could not go in with Rosie due to COVID protocols, but I observed clients with extremely critical patients being allowed in with their pets. VEG Union will now be my first choice for emergency care.

I have no words to describe how amazing everyone is at Veterinary Emergency Group. From the very first contact to the office at 9:00 pm on a Friday night. I felt like they truly care about me and my emergency. My pet Chloe was ill and i was very scared. The team at the office made sure i had the right adress and direction of where to park to get the immediate help we needed. They follow protocol for Covid 19 which it was again another plus. Next, they showed sincere love and care for my Chloe. This made me feel really comfortable and at easy to know my baby was in good hands. Finally, they guided me with an application to cover the cost of the treatment, that took only a couple of minutes to come through. In addition, i witnessed how caring, respectful and amazing they were with a good number of emergencies that arrived at the clinic tonight. I was greeted by Maria, Krystal, and Dr. Jennifer Kuniséh - all of which were amazing. They listened attentively all while working on my kitty. Brought my four year old cat here last night with a broken leg. She was seen promptly by Dr. Brooke. As far as the facility goes it is very clean, very new, very nice, definitely looks like a top notch emergency animal hospital. The emergency veterinarian on staff that night was great and the two women working with her were also very nice. Nice waiting lounge with coffee and snacks, tv, sofa to sit on. Nothing bad to say I would definitely recommend. The ONLY thing I will say, and I guess this is to be expected when dealing with emergency services at midnight on a Tuesday, they’re very expensive. The veterinarian did however work with me and help me out on providing services and then some to meet my request on trying not to spend so much money.

My cat was in a life or death situation. She swallowed a huge rubber object that wouldn’t pass through her intestines. She was in a lot of pain. I came in late on a Friday night they assessed her right away. Did x rays and confirmed foreign body. Dr. Butler performed a full laparotomy on her to remove it. She did such a nice job with clean and dry sutures. My cat stayed there 3 day. The bill was really high but it was a matter of my cat living or dying. The whole medical staff was very good as well.

My fiance and I adopted a puppy, and on the night we got him we found a large tick on his chest. Since he was on a transport for over a day, we weren't sure how long he had it on, and wanted to be as careful as possible to make sure there were no issues. We called Veterinary Emergency Group and they couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming to our new dog and to us, especially since this wasn't an emergency. As new dog owners, we were very lucky to find them in the moment, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to other dog owners in a true emergency situation.

Dr. Butler and her team were literal lifesavers!! Out 13 year old dog Princess was sick for over a month and was shaking and panting when we brought her in. She was calm, cheerful and compassionate. She quickly diagnosed the problem and took great care to share with us every step she would take prior to surgery. The surgery went well and in less than a week Princess was back to her exuberant self ! VEG is a warm and professional practice. I can’t thank them enough or recommend them more highly !!

Veterinary Emergency Group is truly a life saver. It’s a miracle that a place like this exists. I called every exotic pet vet in NJ for my pet mouse, and none of them had anyone on staff who could treat mice. Not to mention vets usually close early and are not available on weekends. VEG’s hours are great when other vets are not available, and their staff was very friendly to me and to my pet. They were able to treat her gently but effectively, even though she is sooo small! The team showed so much care for such a small creature. Also, when I called for follow up and to ask for advice on medicines, they were very straight forward and honest with me. I did not get the feeling that they just wanted to sell me meds or get me to pay more. The doctor offered his time and expertise over the phone, and even offered that I could send photos to the office so that he could better understand the situation. Great place, great people. If you have a small or unusual animal I highly recommend this place. I also recommend it for every type of pet! I will take my pets here in the future. Thank you Veterinary Emergency Group!

I brought Lucky (M, Cocker Spaniel) here as soon as we noticed that half of his face was very swollen. Even though it was way before sunrise on a Sunday, the staff immediately gave their full attention, kindness, and care to him. Our recently adopted dog was shrieking in pain yesterday. I brought him to V.E.G. in Union, there being nothing closer to Jersey City open on Sunday. The care was exceptional. Everyone was kind, concerned, thoughtful, and professional. The waiting room was comfortable and provided much-needed coffee. The wait was not too long (especially for a walk-in). Doctor Bazewicz quickly located the pain in my dog's neck (which had never occurred to me), prescribed a thoughtful approach to treatment, and did not urge any expensive interventions at this point. Without question I would come back here in an emergency.

I had a 10/10 experience here. Brought my suddenly ill cat in, got looked at fast at 8pm on a Thursday night. Dr. Mello was sweet, calming, thoughtful, and smart with an obvious ton of experience. They handed me an itemized list of every possible test/procedure they could do with explanations and options. Diagnostics come back FAST: Bloodwork (within an hour?) and x-rays/imaging (in a day). Really impressed, I didn't know what to expect from an emergency vet, but I am very happy with their operation :)

On February 13 2021, my family suffered the loss of our beloved pup Jack. He was almost 14 and a half, and we knew it was coming, but it didn’t make the loss any easier. Given the time at night, our normal vet was closed. I called another late night vet who was very rude to our situation. But that is another review being left to a vet not worth anyone else’s time. I found the VEG location on google. I called. The person I spoke to on the phone, who I don’t remember her name but at the time my emotions were still processing, was the sweetest and empathetic person. She must have said “so sorry for your loss” or “I am so sorry you and your family have to go through this” a dozen times. She was able to text me the information to set up bringing Jack in, the information on the options of what to be done, and through out asked me repeatedly if I was ok. I was not, am still not, but it was very thoughtful of her to keep asking. When we arrived, the four staff members that I saw all made their time to give their sympathies while my wife and father in law said our goodbyes. I did not expect that at all. It was heartfelt, and much appreciated. Fast forward to Monday night 2/22. I received a phone call voice message from VEG to let me know Jack was there for us to pick up. It was more than just a quick message. It was almost a minute long. At least 3 times the message said “so sorry for you loss” and the person who left the message was shaken almost as if she was going to cry letting me know my pup was there. That kind of empathy cannot be faked. When we arrived I called to let them know (COVID protocol and all. Jack was brought out to us, and the woman who brought him came with no coat and gave us sympathies in the freezing weather, asking if we were ok and if there was anything they could do. I give 5 stars on this review because google won’t allow more. While my family is not going to immediately rush to replace out Jack, I recommend anyone in need of a vet assistance to come to VEG if they are in need of an emergency. The building is clean. The faces are covered right now with masks, but the eyes tell you they care, and they really do.

We went here when my fur baby, accidentally cut her eyelid. Needless to say I was a mess as I saw red bright blood! It was after hours and I called our vet who recommended VEG,. I called and the person who answered was so empathetic, the vet on call actually got on the phone with me to access the situation. Of course we had to take her in, the checking was sEamless, it was all completed via my cell phone. Once a got there we were quickly taken in to be sWen. Every single person Dr. Harries, Tech. I went to them for a check up of a 3wk old kitten that we found abandoned. The facility is clean, all staff are all friendly and caring, which is a major plus for a positive visit. They helped put me at ease but also were realistic about the possibilities of outcomes with young bottle fed kittens. They are a little expensive than the price of a regular well visit but, it is an emergency type hospital so that's expected. They also let you know the base price upfront for the visit, before you're on your way to visit so you are not surprised and can make an informed decision about going forward. That's not including any meds or any other services. I definitely would highly reccomend them and would visit again for any future emergencies.

Brought my dog here when his regular vet called to say he was severely anemic and needed to see an emergency vet right away. Everyone was so kind and knowledgeable. They let us visit whenever we wanted and took great care of our little guy. Now to top it all off, I just called them to forward the lab results to my new vet, they did it right away AND asked me if I wanted to be copied on the email. Do you know how many times I have to call my own doctors office to get my own test results faxed?! I find that with a lot of places if you get a good doctor, the front office is terrible or vice versa. This place is doing it right! DR. BUTLER IS THE BEST VET! I am happy to report that not only is the facility very clean with state of the art equipment but the staff were also so warm and friendly and made my dog Gracie (1yo Golden Retriever) feel so safe even though we rushed to the emergency room at midnight and my dog hates cars. But this is a much better review and story than that. While my dog was suffering from a UTI and an upset stomach another dog had been run over by a car and was on its way in around 1:30am. DR Butler rushed to prep the emergency room for the incoming patient and knew exactly what to do so that the family could be there the whole time and feel prioritized given the emergency. This is not something everyone does for humans let alone animals but Dr Butler saved the day! Happy to report that the dog that got run over is in recovery and prognosis is very good. Also happy to report that Gracie is doing fine and that Dr. Butler even personally followed up with me to check in on Gracie every day since the emergency on 11/22/18.

What an amazing team at VEG! Dr. Butler and her team make my dog Zahra feel right at home. While they had multiple emergencies at the same time they tended to all of us with loving care. Zahra stayed the night and I couldn’t have been more confident in the team. What a truly THOROUGHLY AMAZING experience!!!! From the phone call to to introduce my dear Domino to the visit was a totally professional and compassionate experience!!! Upon arrival we were taken into a room and the team was ready to administer care to my dog. Domino was involved in an incident making him unable to walk and he had not been able to urinate without the use of a catheter. Dr. Mello reassured me that he was ok. After her examination she informed me of my options. She got down on the floor with Domino so he didnt have to strain to get to her. She answered every question i had and did so patiently im still in awe of her "can do" abilities. The staff, so amazing and warm was so helpful in ensuring Domino was able to move around and offered so much help in this time of need i can't thank each and everyone enough. This crew works together seamlessly. I would definitely come back to this facility and recommend them to my friend's and family. Bringing you pet to the hospital is never a good experience, but the Staff at V.E.G in union made my horrifying experience into a calming one. They were so compassionate, supporting, and understanding. I can not thank them enough for everything they did and how comfortable they made me and my little Eevee. VEG is a valuable service to Union residence. I was panicking when my pity Manko became ill. I had called my regular vet earlier and told them of her symptoms and I couldn’t get an appointment until two days later. Friday my dog would have been in such pain, not good enough. Being able to bring Manko right away at 1:30 am in the morning was such a blessing, and so close to my home. The last time I had an emergency in the middle of the night had to go to Ramsey, NJ. Dr Brooke and her staff were very professional and kept me informed of everything going on with Manko, cost, and left it up to me on what procedure to do. Love the care Manko received from the VEG staff in Union, NJ. The facility was clean, even though Manko left her mark there (LOL). If you are ever in an emergency situation with your pet VEG U ion is the place to go.

In a pet emergency run don't walk to Veterinary Emergency Group in Union, New Jersey. We brought our 14-year old cat who was obtunded (a step above comatose) from an insulin overdose, and they went into instant triage and stabilized him and monitored him overnight. It was brilliant and happily, turn out for the best. We watched as Krystal, Lindsey, Megan and Dr. Baz tested, hydrated and administered medication in a whirlwind of measured and professional care. And they did it all with the utmost of calm and clarity. We are grateful to be able to turn to this facility when we needed it.

Our doggie Chanel was very sick about 2 weeks ago she had a seizure Saturday night around 10 pm we didn’t know where to go so we googled and found VEG. I called and was directed to the one in Union where I was able to speak to the doctor even before coming in! Dr. Yerovi was excellent he took his time on the phone with me and when we arrived he was already aware of our situation. Dr Yerovi and his staff were excellent that night. They were amazing with Chanel. We were also able to stay by Chanel’s side all night long. The following day Dr Butler was also great. Unfortunately we had to transfer Chanel for continued care Sunday evening. Dr. Yerovi even carried Chanel out to the car for us. Dr. Butler was also excellent and very thorough in her explanation on Chanel’s grave prognosis. It is amazing to know there is such an extraordinary group of people available to help your pets at crucial times like this. We are very grateful for the excellent care they provided. I had to bring my cat in right before they closed and I was a nervous wreck and crying and didn’t know what to do. My cat (not well to begin with) always jumps on the window sill to get to my other cats food, to eat whatever’s left and while doing that, there was a fly stick (what the exterminator uses to catch bugs) on the window sill and she happened to get it stuck to her whole right side under the front leg. I tried to cut her hair but she went after my hand and wasn’t having it. This place actually calmed me down and as soon as I walked in they took her and had that stick off within minutes. They even gave her a bath and she hates water, but she was calm. I can’t thank them enough for the great job they all did. Thank you so much for helping my GAMMA out and taking good care of her!! Great place I would recommend it highly!

Amazing staff, equipment, and facility to give your pet the chance for recovery. Had a scare with my cat and they had her up and running 24 hours later. Fantastic in every way.

Our little boy cut his paw open and the staff was amazing one of the nurses I got her name was Isabella and she was excellent with him gave him the best care and was great explaining everything and another nurse didn't catch her name do remember she had tattoos and pink and black hair she was excellent as well she treated our pup like he was her own and just kept making sure him and I were okay even gave me a couch to rest on while they stitched him up the doctor was amazing I highly recommend going there if you have an emergency with your animals they go above and beyond to make sure your animals needs are met thank you V.E.D
