We have had Valley Animal Hospital taking care of our dog from the beginning. The staff is nice and very helpful and shows a lot of love toward our dog. The doctors are the best with being thorough with the care of your pet. My dog is not afraid of going to the vet for a check up.

Absolutely amazing!!! The vet and tech were both so loving, friendly, and knowledgeable. Dr. Thompson was so genuine and sweet. She gave us recommendations without trying to “sell” us on anything. If I could give Valley Animal Hospital 100 stars, I would! I recently started taking my 1.5-year-old dog, Diesel, to Dr. Henderson and his team and I couldn’t be happier. My dog needs Bilateral MPL surgery but isn’t a candidate yet until his Heart Worm is cleared. Dr. Henderson was the first vet (after many) to sit with me and explain what is going on with him. I was taking my dog to therapy twice a week for a month, and he went from not being able to walk without sitting to reset his knees to being able to walk without pain for the first time. Kelly was AMAZING!!! She came up with a therapy plan not only for him to do there, but for me to follow at home. My dog LOVES her. She is so sweet and so helpful. Tim was incredible as well. He got into the pool with him, and they had a blast! Besides everyone being so knowledgeable, everyone is SO KIND. Also, so responsive. I have had a lot of bad experiences with vets, and I can honestly say that this is not one. I’m so happy and thankful for all the care that he received, and I can’t wait to continue his recovery journey with them. From the wonderful ladies behind the desk, to the physical therapists, to Dr. Henderson, everyone made such a great impression. Diesel can’t WAIT to come back and play! Thank you, Valley Animal Hospital, for all your hard work and dedication to helping Animals. You are all doing amazing!!

Great doctors and auxiliaries. They are very thorough and explain everything. Might I add they saved my dog Stella when she was a puppy and swallowed a sock which blocked her intestines. I am eternally grateful to Dr Henderson. I highly recommend them.

I took my 15 year old Cockapoo here because my previous vet was trying to push to an expensive surgery in a old blind dog. Here at Valley Animal Hospital the vet took a look at my dogs ear and she cleaned it right then and there. Followed by putting a medical paste to avoid infection from occurring. Every since I have been bringing my dog here. I recommended to my mother for her dog and my close friend for his dog as well. The staff is friendly and they don’t lie about anything when it comes to medication, pricing and fees.

Our dog, Lulu, has been going to Valley Animal Hospital for 3 weeks (osteoarthritis, possible Wobblers). Lulu has been getting laser therapy; pt exercises, the water treadmill, and has received one session of acupuncture. We already see Lulu getting stronger! I took my baby boy Charlie there for the first time the other day and I have to admit I was very nervous because of the corona virus, everything is curbside. So they had to take him in for the first time without me. He suffers with build up in his ears and I thought he had ear mites. So I tried to keep them clean at home but he ended up clawing the back of his left ear so bad from the extreme itching of the build up. Charlie is a big boy 13.6 lbs and can be feisty in general, especially when it comes to cleaning his ears, which I had warned the vet of. Yet, they took precaution, and although I’m sure it was a hassle with him lol they were able to cleanse his ears out and give me ear drop medication for 10 days. $69 for the normal check up and $42 for the cytology test for the build up, and $46 for the ear drops medication all together was $160.40. Not bad at all, because I expected to pay a lot more. Everyone, including Dr. Mastroieni were very nice & comforting. The communication of Charlie’s exam was done verbally over the phone. Although, for future reference as far as everything being curbside until further notice, I believe that it would be even more comforting to set up a virtual view of the exam through the owner’s phone. Whether it be through the popular app ZOOM, WEBEX, SKYPE, etc. especially for new patients. So although we can’t be in there physically, we can be there virtually and take part in the step by step exam to view all aspects for a sense of reassurance, building of trust with a new vet, and overall comfortability of the process. Thank you all so much for the positive energy, and taking care of my feisty baby Charlie! (: If you’re looking for a new vet, I would definitely Recommend this wonderful place. I believe I’ve found our long term vet for sure, thanks again ! :)

We've been taking our two cats to Valley since we adopted them 7 years ago as kittens. The staff are friendly and helpful, and seem to genuinely love my cats as much as I do! I especially appreciate that they take the time to talk to my kids as much as me about the cats' health, and answer all their questions.

My pup suffered 2 slipped discs in March 2021 and my vet recommended Valley Animal Hospital for her rehab. We went to Valley for about 6 months and my dog made close to a full recovery. Everyone who works there is so kind, reliable, and hardworking. They always worked with my busy schedule, took care of my dog like she was their own, and did all they could to get her back to her old self. Tim, Kelly, and Dr. Henderson saved my dog's life and I couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend this hospital for anyone looking for a rehab facility.

Really can not say enough great things about this amazing facility. Extremely Clean and can tell that every single staff member LOVES dogs. Dr. Henderson gave us a 4 week plan of PT and Acupuncture for our 10 1/2 yr old German Shepherd, he could not stand on his own. Now he wants to go for walks again!!! Tim and Kelly are incredible therapists. Giovanna takes care of the boarding with unbelievable care, compassion and knowledge of my dogs needs to be comfortable while away from home!! My dog, Callie, has been going to Valley Hospital for rehab post disc-surgery for 5 weeks now. The rehab technicians, Tim and Kelly, have an incredible rapport with her. Now that we are allowed to accompany our pets, I have been able to observe the wonderful interaction between Callie and the techs. She looks forward to her biweekly visits and I have noticed a significant increase in her hind leg stability and strength. Kelly and Tim allowed me to video some of the sessions so I would share with the surgeon and emergency vet. Dr. Henderson was also super and quickly able to size up Callie's deficits so that the techs could work with her. I highly recommend this facility. The staff are knowledgeable and have a great human-animal bond with their clients.

I absolutely love Valley! My family dog, Petunia started coming here as a geriatric fur baby to get aqua therapy. I attended many of the appointments with her and my mother as the staff was incredible. They truly treat the fur babies as their own. I then got my own puppy recently and immediately knew I would want Valley to provide his vet care. George, my fur baby, loves coming to the vet and is always all wiggle butts and kisses to every single staff member there because he loves them so much. Our doctor is Dr. Mastroieni and she is fabulous. She provides amazing care, is always fully present during the appointments, super personal and always makes you feel comfortable no matter how silly my questions might be :). Valley is the best!

My wife and I have taken both our dogs here for different services. For our 14 year old Layla, she was given physiotherapy, running half submerged in water and that really helped her. Reagan, her therapist was so kind to her and the results are wonderful. She gets up the stairs faster than I do and can still jump onto our couch whenever she wants to. Our 2 year old Nellie was treated so lovingly by Dr. Thompson for her regular check ups.

I first started going to this hospital 5 years ago when I lived in Clifton and have since moved about an hour away- I have had two Weimaraners the first had a great many health issues throughout his life. I have gone to many vet hospitals throughout NYC and NJ. This facility absolutely top notch. Every vet that we have seen throughout the years is knowledgable and look for answers and not standardized prescriptions, they answer questions completely and the facility is sparkling clean and state of the art. Kiera at the front desk is also accommodating and lovely.

We were recommended to Valley from a friend and they have been excellent with our 6 month puppy. There are closer Vet's, but we drive a little farther for quality service. We love Valley Animal Hospital! Dr. Thompson is an angel -- so patient, caring, and compassionate. Both she and Dr. Mastroieni have taken excellent care of all 3 of our cats. I wanted to find a local vet near my home in Clifton. So I did what most folks do; I searched on Google. Valley Animal Hospital popped up with excellent reviews. I decided to make an appt for my small Poochon dog and I'm happy I did. The young staff working the front desk and assisting the doctors are so pleasant. They sincerely care about animals. Valley Animal Hospital has very competent, caring professionals. I am very happy with the care my dog receives. When necessary, they make referrals to specials. I am very satisfied with the expertise of these specialists. In addition, VAH has a spacious waiting room and the facility is very clean. The front desk staff are friendly and efficient. I have never had a problem with insurance claims.

This vet is fantastic--and such a welcome change from the past. I have 3 pets: 1 dog and 2 cats, including one that is diabetic. Especially for the cat, I had bounced around various vets for years, always unhappy. Most were single proprietor operations, meaning if the vet was out for any reason (and they often were), your pet was out of luck if sick. One had a receptionist who was Cruella DeVil. One the vet herself was oddly unpleasant. All had terrible parking. Then I found Valley Animal Hospital. It was such a breath of fresh air, with multiple doctors and regular hours, and so easy to deal with, while providing clearly superb care, I wondered why I'd suffered with the others for so long. I can't say enough good things about my experience. My diabetic cat, for the first time, has her diabetes well managed--and without the practice looking to charge me every second. Rates are reasonable. The doctors are personable, knowledgeable and compassionate. They even offer boarding if you need it in a pinch (which is great for a cat with medical needs). The receptionists are kind and efficient. And yes, there's ample parking--right out the front door. Highly, highly recommend.

We have always loved the professional care and attentiveness that we find at Valley Animal Hospital. In these times when Covid-19 requires a different approach to office visits, the staff has really come through with a safe and effective way to continue treating the pets, by having each owner met outside (with masks) and by taking the animal and then returning it without any indoor or other staff contact. Phone contact is maintained throughout and the whole experience couldn't be easier. We love Dr. Henderson and appreciate how thoroughly he examines our dog.

back in on October 29th my 3 year old Pit/lab mix of no where had a ruptured disc in her back and was paralyzed in her hind legs, i got her in that day for emergency surgery at Garden State Veterinary service, Dr Naomi Bernier did an amazing job operating on her, after my dog came home and recovered from surgery i started her at the Valley Animal Hospital for rehabilitation, i cant say enough good things about this place especially Tim and Regan who were her therapist, my dog received underwater treadmill work, massage, laser therapy, acupuncture, and exercise programs. i saw improvements in her every treatment, she went into this place in a ginger lead not being able to use her hind legs and after completing her full course of therapy on her last day she left the place practically running to the car, the head Dr was very thorough and spoke to me about recommendations and progress, because of the excellent professional care here my dog is living her best life and doing great. sincerly thank you to the entire staff at Valley Animal Hospital, you are truly special people doing what you do,

A practice that honestly cares! Staff is warm and understanding! Doctors who treat your pet as if it was there’s and have earned my trust over and over again!!! I’d never go anywhere else. My most recent visit was heartbreaking, but because of Valley Animal Hospital I found out about a wonderful place called Abbey Glen and had piece of mind when I dropped off my 8pd Shitzu for cremation, Princess was one of a kind and the staff had felt my pain as if it was theirs! I have been entrusting my feline friends with Dr. Henderson for over a decade (or two, shhh) now. He is compassionate and caring. Dr. Thompson has also seen one of my girls and she helped her greatly. The staff is wonderful and they all go above and beyond as well. For ages now I've been dreading the day I hear Dr. Henderson will retire, seriously. ^^^ It's been at least a year since I wrote this review and I still believe they are the best veterinary team in the area.

We have a rescue with some fear aggression issues, and going to the vet with her is generally a nightmare. We’ve been going to Valley Animal Hospital for a little over a year, and it has been a breath of fresh air. The staff here has nothing but patience for her. She recently had a procedure to have a cyst removed. Handing over the leash was so hard (and we had to do so without giving her her normal sedative), but Dr. Henderson and team handled both anesthesia sessions as though she wasn’t too much of a problem. I’m really happy we found them. As our other rescue ages, he’s been having some pancreas issues. Every time he has a flair up, we’re always able to get a same day appointment (normally first thing in the morning or early afternoon). It’s relieving to know we can get him care as soon as it’s needed.

Took my dog in for a checkup two weeks ago and I couldn’t be more satisfied with their response. I got there and called them to let them know we had arrived, receptionist said assistant will be out shortly. Waited in the parking lot not very long, very friendly and kind. Told her what was going on with my dog and said she will be taken care of and the dr will call me to let me know what was going to be done, very thorough. We were done in approximately 45 min. My dog was not having it when we arrived but she then came out with the assistant very calm. Highly recommend them.

I have been meaning to write this.. I would like to thank the wonderful staff at Valley Animal Hospital for taking care of our beagle, Lucky. I highly recommend them if you live in Clifton, NJ and the surrounding nearby towns as well. On March 7, Lucky began pacing back & forth with her head down, tail between her legs, trembling & drooling. We knew right then & there that something was wrong. Lucky is a very active hyper dog with quite a personality. We took her to her primary vet & he suggested to get an MRI to determine if the issue was a herniated disk. Lucky had one prior incident with her back leg years ago & so we didn't think it was a big deal as she had gotten a shot of cortisol & was fine the next day. This time after multiple trips to the vet for multiple & different pain reducing shots, Lucky was still unable to walk much & could no longer go up & down stairs. The MRI confirmed a cervical herniated disk & lower multiple discs herniated as well. We were advised that Lucky would most likely need surgery immediately. Because Lucky was an older dog and the cost of surgery with no guarantee that another disc may herniate as she aged, we opted for conservative treatment. After one more hospital visit & too many sleepless nights to even count for my husband and I, Lucky began to do well on her adjusted meds - rimadyl, a muscle relaxer and gabapentin, each given three times a day for 3 months. Valley Animal Hospital specializes in rehabilitation including laser therapy and acupuncture and they worked with Lucky to help her recover. Therapists Tim and Reagan treated Lucky very gently as she was a very severe case. Even when we had lost hope that Lucky would not recover, Dr. Henderson, Tim, & Reagan & the entire staff went above and beyond to help Lucky. After driving back & forth to physical therapy treatments (acupuncture & laser), Lucky finally had a breakthrough so we decided to continue therapy after her re-evaluation for further treatment. Today, Lucky is off her meds completely & if she has a flare up, she has a few extra capsules in the medicine cabinet and Valley is only a phone call away. Although Lucky can no longer do stairs, the couch, or bed & has to be careful when running as to not reinjure herself, she still has a loving personality. We have built a ramp for her to go out and we get to do more, but shorter distance walks with her. Lucky's journey has been a long and tough road, but the staff at Valley Animal Hospital never gave up and neither did we. They are angels for caring for our little fur baby. We can't say thank you enough. If I could rate higher than 5 Stars, I would- Highly recommend! Thank you again!!!

I have been taking my dogs to Valley for 6 years now. I used to use another vet, but switched to Valley on the recommendation of a family member. I have nothing but good things to say about them! The vets are knowledgeable, patient, and thorough; the facilities are clean; the support staff is always friendly. Dr. Jamie Thompson is awesome I love her she is so patience and caring with my dogs. I brought my dog Milo a month because he was having severity constipation. The team has saved our dog- literally- on more than one occasion and our girl LOVES going there. We originally found Valley for their pet PT as our large 12 yr old dog hurt her knee and we did not want to put her through surgery at her age and quickly after decided to change over to Valley for our primary care Vet. Regan is the Physical Therapist and gave our dog the ability to walk again! She is very open and honest about her opinions for your dog's progress and works with you to ensure they get the proper care at home when not in therapy. Dr Henderson and Dr Thompson are incredible people who go above and beyond to be sure that your are well informed of your animal's needs. Every person that works there- from the receptionists to the drs to the PT- truly cares about the clients and care of the pets. I cannot say enough good things about the entire Valley team.

I took my 14 yr old Yorkie to Valley recently. He has been a patient there for some time but it was our first experience with Dr. Thompson. She is very knowledgeable and caring and didn't order unnecessary tests. The facility is always clean, the techs are very pleasant. I have never had to wait for an appointment. They always run on time and have convenient hours in the evenings and on Saturdays. Today I had to call to get records sent to another vet (as I am out of the area) and Denise was super accommodating and very pleasant. The records were sent immediately. There is never any waiting and their office staff couldn't be any nicer. I've moved out of the area recently but they are worth the commute.

I can not say enough about the wonderful experience we recently had with our dog Chloe. She had a cervical disc injury that left her front legs essentially paralyzed. She was unable to walk, stand, eat or go to the bathroom independently. She was progressively getting worse. VAH was recommended to us because of a family member's experience with their dog. I knew from Dr. Henderson's initial examination that Chloe was in good hands. He gave a very thorough evaluation and suggested physical therapy with laser and acupuncture for a month. After about 6 weeks, Chloe was independent and happy again! The staff there is very caring. Regan is an amazing physical therapist and gives so much of her time and love to your dog. We are so grateful for what they did to get Chloe back to life.

Previously I used to take my dog Rocky to a different place and he didn't want to go into the building. My daughter took her two dogs to Valley Animal Hospital and told me to bring Rocky there. I have no issues with them. There prices might be slightly higher but it is well worth it. My dog had surgery on his leg and it was successful. Post therapy was also good. The staff is friendly and I definitely would recommend this place to all.

I am so happy I found this place. My Maya was suffering from chronic UTI and my previous vet was unable to cure it. Dr Thompson is a heaven sent - she determined the strain of the bacteria and prescribed the right medication. My Maya no longer gets UTIs. Brought my 10 y/o German Shepherd to Valley Animal Hospital for a consult with Dr. Henderson and he came up with a treatment plan for my dog's arthritis and weight management. Elvis couldn't walk more than a couple of steps at a time. After two months of therapy, Elvis is walking great and has lost 15 pounds. He has had laser therapy, acupuncture and hydrotherapy, walking on the treadmill in the water. We will continue with maintenance treatment. We like this vet facility very much, and Dr. Henderson appears caring and compassionate and a very skilled surgeon (three teeth extractions; two tumor removals). The support staff is excellent and people seem happy at work and caring of the animals. The shelter facility is clean and pleasant, with barriers between ample-sized cages to help reduce the amount of visual distraction and arousal. (Athough our dog -- who is quite a feisty little fellow full of spit and vinegar - was hoarse upon his return; I guess you can't keep dogs from barking at each other if that's their intent.). We prefer this facility to others in our area that we've tried over the years.

I really love bringing my animals here. I know each person that works with them will take good care of them. I'm never worried about having to drop them off and pick them up later because I know they're in good hands.

It’s nice to have the prices listed on the website to know what to expect. Regardless, $69 for a senior pet checkup, and $186.17 for urine + BW. My cat didn’t seem to have huge anxiety leaving the office, so I’m happy about that.

I went a couple days a go because my 9 year old Chihuahua got sick...I am not going to lie I have to wait for a while (but they told me they were short on staff) wich is fine but they should put attention to that detail(waiting time) after that Dr Thompson listen all my story about what’s going on,then she explain me what she would do and immediately we foundout what’s going on with my dog... Saddly the Vet don’t count with the option to do surgeries but Dr Thompson suggest me other places to go...She was kind and overall the place counts with good services wich for me is very important thing (besides excellence) in a Veterinary...A day after Dr Thompson call to check up how it went and saddly I told her the news that my baby furry 🐶 die..although I appreciate her concern and called..Definitely will be back to this place!!!
