I can not say enough good things about Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital. I have never met a more committed, compassionate, empathetic, patient and amazing doctors and vet staff! I work in a hospital and I can’t even begin to tell you how much love I see this team give each of the animals that come through their doors. It’s like they know each one and their personalities. I’m always amazed and impressed. I myself am a mother of two and my boys are now are full grown adults so what do you do you get a puppy and it’s like having being a first time parent all over again! I call them for everything because I get so nervous with my new baby and they are patient and understanding with my questions and worry that I always feel at ease and never like I am being an inconvenience or being rushed. The service is the best as I really can’t get how well they know the personality of each animal that comes through their door! Your office is truly full of amazing people and I am thankful that I choose your team to care for my little girl ❤️ She also loves you love you guys too and knows when we are going as she actually gets excited to see everyone! Thank you so much for loving her just as much as I do!!!!

My wife Diane is the one who brings Sherlock for his appointments. Her feelings about, how he is cared for, at this office is nothing short of being most excellent. The Doctors & Staff are always professional, courteous. friendly and very informative. She feels that our Boy is always in very capable hands. Sherlock is never not himself after his visits, which is for us, a deal breaker. We both feel very grateful for being afforded this Animal Hospital in our area.

We are very happy with the treatment our cat received at Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital. The staff were kind, communicative, and professional. Our cat had dental surgery and he returned home a happier and healthier animal. They are not the cheapest vet in the area, but if you can afford their services it is worth it because your animal will be better off for it.

Took my 6 month old cat here for the first time and I can honestly say you guys are amazing! This vet is a drive in which means that owners aren’t allowed to go in, however I feel that it speeds up the appointments and allows the owners to relax while their pet is being taken care of. This place is very reasonable with their pricing and provided us with a free carrier which we’re so grateful for! The vet is very knowledgeable and truly cares about his patients. Definitely give it a chance if you’re around the area looking for a vet!

I just love the Arlington Dog and Cat hospital! Dr Leary is amazing! We have a two years old Great Dane named Trooper and Dr Leary treats Trooper with so much love and care that Trooper loves his visits to the VET! Trooper is also Dr Leary’s pet ( that’s how he makes us feel). Trooper is growing strong and healthy under Dr Leary’s care, but not only that, the staff is the best. The girls are professional, kind and sweet! The best service and doctors our pets ever had!!

Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital provided a wonderful experience with my ill cat. Upon setting up the appointment, their staff took the time to listen to my cat's symptoms, make some recommendations and even gave me information regarding emergency services. When I brought my cat there for the appointment, the staff took the time to listen to the symptoms again and give a detailed explanation of the services she would receive. THEN the Veterinarian called me on the phone to again ease my mind about procedures and treatment. I've NEVER felt so assured that my cat was receiving the treatment possible! I took my dog Rio here for an ultrasound and possible dental procedure that my local veterinarian is unable to administer. I generally trust the expertise of the doctors here, but there were two issues that dampened my enthusiasm. The first is a matter of personal preference; the second reflected worrying communication matter. 1) The office still does not allow owners inside due to covid. Rio has difficulty with separation anxiety, so I avoid subjecting him to this unnecessary trauma. At this point, offering patients N95 masks could be an acceptable compromise. 2) The doctor failed to disclose that Rio was given a tranquilizing sedative for a procedure. Upon bringing Rio home, I noticed that he was catatonic. I called to office to inquire about why my dog was in a daze. The doctor revealed only then that he had tried a sedative, but it appeared to have a delayed effect. The doctor had assumed it was simply ineffective and did not tell me--even after I suggested a sedative for a follow-up visit. I should note there was no medical risk. It was just scary to see my dog in such a state and not know why. My initial inclination was to leave 3 stars, but the doctor was otherwise helpful and professional. He followed up with phone calls and answered my questions to the best of his ability.

From making his appointment, and leading up to the day of, We experienced nothing but Great Customer service, Amazing staff who are very compassionate and professional. I'm grateful to have a vet that still follows covid protocols. I enjoy the fact that there is a "curbside" service as I am immunocompromised so it allows me to still give my pet the care she needs, while keeping myself and the staff on site safe. I am always called promptly by my vet, Dr. Hoey after the examination. She gives a detailed rundown and offers solutions to any issues that arise. She also takes the time to do a callback at the end of her day to answer any questions I may have. The vet technicians/staff are always kind and helpful as well. There was a time I had to bring my cat weekly for her bandage changes and they've been nothing but caring and attentive. I am also grateful I can get my cats' medicine directly through them. I've been going to this vet hospital for years and will continue to do so for even longer.

Arlington dog and cat Hospital feels like home to me! Let’s face it we all love our pets ❤️ I was always afraid owning a Rottweiler because she is the sweetest dog, but only likes women. She is very protective of me and I was always afraid especially during Covid if I had to bring her and I couldn’t go in🤦🏻‍♀️ I have to tell you that there has not been one person that my dog no matter how sick or injured she was , she would just go in wagging her tail and walked through the door without me! I’ve had cats and my dog Bella iwho is now 10 years old. . Early on in her life she had to undergo a meniscus tear in one leg, then the ACL went in the same leg, then while healing the other leg tore the ACL, pancreatitis, arthritis, and now she’s dealing with bone cancer in her front leg. Dr. Hoey and her staff could not be more sympathetic while staying professional at all times! I would highly recommend anybody and everybody to seek them out for your pet. And if the service cannot be done there they have all the right places and recommendations that will also take care of your needs. I am so grateful to have been able to bring my pets there. Whether it’s a regular check , or a serious operation and immediate care that my dog needed they always made me feel that they will do everything possible to help💕

First visit at this vet today and everything went great, the vet called and told me what she was doing and confirmed the cost before doing so. She was friendly and made me feel at ease about what was happening. The only issue was making patients wait outside due to “covid”. In an earlier response they said patients will be allowed in beginning of November and it’s now the end of November. I understand covid is still a risk but if a staff member has covid they shouldn’t be at work and patients can either show their vaccine or wear a mask. I don’t drive so sat outside for 50 mins in 30” weather and although I was offered a blanket and hot cocoa i was still frozen :(

I have brought my 3 dogs to the practice as well as my daughter's St. Bernard. Dr. Lery and Dr. Hoey are exceptional with all breeds of dogs. I have had a positive experience consistently with every visit. The staff is supportive and understand; even when I am talking at length. They give you time to explain any concerns or ask questions. The price of services are reasonable and fair in comparison to some other vets who are more pricy.

This has been my bet for both my dog and cat for the past two years. I have had nothing but good experiences here. The staff is super kind, friendly, and my animals feel at easy with all of the techs and doctors. I boarded my cat Emmie here, and the staff was so cute telling me how much they enjoyed her friendly company. My puppy has been coming here since I got him, and also recently got neutered here. Despite the craziness that COVID wrought on the situation, the staff came up with the best situation to keep us and our animals safe with socially-distance drop off and pick up. His procedure went well and he was on his feet and back to normal in the same day. Overall, this is a great place to go if you’re looking for a service that is kind, friendly, reasonably priced, and trustworthy. Highly recommend this place!

When I moved to Newark, NJ from south Florida for my job five years ago, one of the first and most important things on my list was to find a good vet for my dog, Ricky. As good as the one we had in Ft. Lauderdale. Initially, I chose one that I found on line that had good reviews. It didn't take long to realize that I was not happy. One of the security personnel in my apartment building suggested Arlington Cat & Dog Hospital as it's who she uses for her dog. I have been going there now just over four years and have been very happy. Everyone there is very nice and very professional and the doctors take the time to listen to me. I highly recommend them!

My 2 elderly cats have made me visit the vet frequently and they do an amazing job here. I had to say goodbye to both of my cats recently and they were very sincere and amazing throughout the process. They definitely extended the life of one of my cats at least 2 years when I thought I was going to lose him. I would 100% recommend them to anyone who has a pet. My 17 yr old cat, Knuckles needed a refill for his thyroid medication...our previous vet, closed for 2 weeks without notice...I called Arlington Dog &Cat Hospital upon recommendation of my neighbor. From the moment I made an appointment for Knuckles, I knew I had made the right decision! The receptionist was so pleasant and reassuring! For our appointment, the entire process of curbside drop off was so efficient and professional! Dr. Leary examined Knuckles...we spoke on the phone regarding bloodwork and the next day regarding the results...Dr Leary changed Knuckles’s dosage and asked for a follow up in 3 weeks.... I am eternally grateful for Dr Leary and the entire staff at Arlington Dog & Cat Hospital!

Just recently went to take my friends Dog, for an emergency check, they were quick to act without hesitation and took the dog inside. I never seen any animal hospital do that. Sadly the dog didn't make it (r.i.p Shiva) but everyone in this place was so sweet, humble, caring and just plain brilliant!! We are getting a puppy this month and this is a place I'd recommend taking them too. They care about your pet unlike any other place I have seen 🙏🏻 and took care of anything and keep you updated. We recently added a new dog in early April to our family, a Chihuahua/Terrier mix named Chico, we got from the American Human Society in Newark. We began a fresh food diet immediately, and there were immediate results. He was a stray, and no one knows for how long, he suffered a broken hind leg at some point that didn't heal correctly, as he tends to favor it, he also has alot of missing teeth. Despite this, he is a happy, loved dog. The doctors and nurses at Arlington treated him with love and respect. I've used them for over 10 years, and they are a caring, genuine vet hospital. If you need a vet, Arlington is the correct choice. Chico

We took our Akita puppy Khia here for her first vet visit, and the staff was extremely friendly, and professional. I was nervous at first to bring her in knowing I wasn't allowed to go in with her, however the staff put me at ease with their pleasant disposition and smiling ( under a mask) faces. I can’t say enough about how amazing dr Leary and his staff are. He was the only vet who helped our little 13 year old Sadie and saved her life. We are beyond grateful to Dr Leary and the compassionate staff who made sure we were treated with such kindness during a difficult and scary time. He takes so much time to explain step by step the treatment plan and continued to call and follow up when Sadie was home. Today we took Sadie for her follow up appointment She was wagging her tail knowing how loving everyone is to her there. Thank you does not seem enough to say. Sadie is thriving. The staff was super helpful and accommodating! Their COVID-19 protocols were efficient and productive. My dog has slight deportation anxiety, and he was totally fine! They were even kind enough to supply me with paper towels in case he threw up on the way home. The vet was very knowledgeable and helpful!

I had used ADCH since 2006 with my Boxer and then my Frenchie. Dr. Hoey is incredible. Her level of care, humanity and professionalism is top notch. What I appreciated most about the services provided by Dr. Hoey is that she will provide her recommendations and consult based not only on standard, however specific stats for each individual patient. I never felt she pushed medications or unnecessary treatments. She always provided her professional consult with patient's quality of life as a priority which is sometimes difficult to accept with our faithful companions. I cannot express enough my appreciation for her diligence as a veterinary professional. I truly believe as a result of her level of care/kindness I was most fortunate to have both my dogs beyond their standard life expectancy for their breeds. The technicians on staff are also very loving. I have always felt comfortable with leaving my dogs in their care as my pups always returned happily trotting back to the examination room. My dogs have never been away from me with the exception of staying with staff at ADCH and I will always recommend ADCH to any pet owner looking for a veterinarian.

Since I got my puppy at nine weeks old he has been seen by the vets at Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital. I have never felt anything but satisfied with the care or treatment we have received. Staff are all super sweet and the vets are great sources of information for me. When Covid 19 began shutting down everything I was scared and worried but my next visit there was handled just as professionally with outside pickup and phone contact with Dr. as she was seeing my pet. They all seem to value my fur buddy as much as I do and I appreciate the care and affection he is shown. Thanks so much to all at Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital.

They were very careful going over my dog making sure that she was OK outside all around up and down and inside with a stool sample. The doctor was actually very concerned because she was so shy. But she’s really not like that when she got home she was so happy and excited to be home. She was barking and jumping all over us. She barks on command she loves us and she just doesn’t know strangers. She’s not aggressive towards them so she just gets very timid around new people. She got her vaccines and he prescribed her medicine they gave her some peanut butter and she was on her way. It didn’t take too long as we were in and out in no time. The staff was very well mannered, respectful and nice. Arlington dog and cat hospital have a customer for life and will be recommending others. Take care and stay safe.

I had been to 3 vets with the same issue with pricey consultations/medications with no results. I saw Dr. Roo (I believe that’s how her name is spelled) and the problem was finally fixed. I was very stressed about my dogs condition and made her aware of that, and she offered to let me call the next morning as an emergency appointment so I wouldn’t have to wait another month for an appointment (their one con). I finally had peace of mind leaving the clinic, which I hadn’t felt after a vet visit in years. Highly recommend!

My cousin's family moved to Australia but had to leave their dog Milo behind temporarily due to animal import regulations. These regulations mandated that Milo receive a series of tests and preventative medicines spaced over a period of almost six months. The people at Arlington Dog & Cat were familiar with these processes and worked with me to get Milo over all the hurdles. I was impressed with their knowledge, professionalism and care. For example, Milo tested positive on a test for an illness for which a negative result was required to enter Australia. The vet recommended proper treatment, Milo ultimately tested negative for the condition, and for this reason will soon reunite with his family.

I switched vets after Rutherford Animal Hospital tried to scam me with unnecessary procedures and multiple issues regarding cost estimates (they used my fear and concern of my dog potentially having cancer to try and get more money out of me). The staff here was so kind and helpful in getting Danica's records transferred / answering all of my questions and they were understanding of the terrible experience I had at the other vet. Dr. Leary took the time to explain everything to me from start to finish, didn't rush me, and gave me an honest opinion about treatment recommendation. I took my puppy to the vet for the first time after adopting her. For a first impression, this vet practice nailed it! My puppy was happy the entire time and so well cared for. She really cared about her and was able to answer all of my questions. She gave me some samples which was very nice. My Maltese Bean was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital was recommended as a place I should take her for her follow up visit. I was able to set up and appt. online, that was promptly followed up by a phone call from them. The day of her appt., we arrived about a half hour early, I called to let them know we were outside and they said we will be out to get her shortly. Which they did come out right away and took her inside, after a short while I got a call from the Vet an he went into detail about what he found and asked me how I was doing with her insulin shots ( never had to do this before) and suggested a few helpful tips, also they wrote me a prescription for more syringes for her. My cat needed emergency surgery and the emergency vet I had originally taken him too wanted $7,500 for the surgery upfront and I couldn’t pay it. This vet is great. I've taken my puppy here twice now for her shots and initial check up and they are always very friendly and helpful. The wait time is short and the vet takes the time to answer any questions I have. This is a wonderful place to bring your pet. They have parking, which is very convenient. Once you walk in, you are greeted by the staff & put on the list immediately. Your wait is no more than 15 min which is awesome. & finally when you get to see the doctor, she is great, friendly, definitely an animal lover, although I've tooken my dog to other vets & they seemed to be bothered because my dog is really hyper. And you never realize the quality of urgency and aid towards your family dog that your missing out on until you meet staff like the ones here. My name is Maria - this review is long overdue - I have to give Arlington Dog & Cat Hospital 5 stars bcz in all honesty I was really uneasy, hesitant & afraid to take my dog here bcz pet owners have to wait outside while their pets are seen by the vets bcz of COVID. I didn't like at ALL the idea of not being able to be with my beloved dog & seeing exactly what's going on while he's being examined & treated. I'm so used to being right there with him but couldn't do that now bcz of COVID. But Dr. Hoey was so nice to me AND my dog, she's very informative, she called me right away to let me know what's going on with my dog & she answered ALL of my questions - so did the staff - and they are VERY FRIENDLY & reassuring (very important for hesitant & extremely protective pet owners like myself). My dog was really ill but Dr. Hoey treated his illness with the proper meds & my baby is 100% well now - OH - I forgot, my dog was IN & OUT - like, I didn't have to wait outside for a long time AT ALL. OMG I was so happy LOL. So now, whenever my dog needs to see the vet I go right to Arlington Dog & Cat Hospital without a 2nd thought. Very good animal hospital I highly recommend.

I've been bringing my dog since we rescued him at 9 weeks and he's just over a year old now. He's my first non fish pet so I've had a lot of questions and the doctors have been really helpful and try to provide the services your pet needs without throwing in services they won't. We've discussed vaccines that are right for my dog and our lifestyle, a good age to neuter (even though it meant I canceled my appointment within the week to reschedule months later/and they call you throughout the procedure so you're not guessing if your dog is okay for the day and a half you're not there with them), what to expect and medicines to give at different life stages, and even really good over the phone advice. I can't compare them to any other vet office, but my dog LOVES going to see everyone there and they're always happy to answer all my questions (even really basic ones).

I love this hospital!! I brought my kittens Rizzo and Lady here for a check up. Dr. Esrig was so cool. She answered all of my questions and even allowed me to send the kitties medical records to her personal email because I had forgotten to bring them in. Weeks later I brought Rizzo back because he could no longer walk properly on his hind legs. Dr. Leary was very patient and professional with me. I was crying my eyes out! He suggested we get him tested. It turned out Riz had an infection. He was treated with antibiotics and slowly but surely he is getting better and I could not be happier. I am sooo grateful. The hospital staff is also great! They are always very kind, answer all of my questions, very empathetic and accommodating. The medical care costs are also very reasonable and the doctors let you know upfront if something will be more on the expensive side. I highly, highly recommend this hospital!!

I'm really happy I took my cat here. Of course, it was during quarantine, but they made the experience pleasant and they are well organized. The staff is super friendly, and the vet was very sweet. They made me feel like my kitty was safe and well cared for, even though I wasn't with her. I needed to find a vet knowledgeable in all cat breeds, as my girl is a coated bambino. My last vet did not take this into consideration and put her life on the line for a simple xray. (Bambinos are a cross between a munchkin and a sphinx, but Cinderella has fur hence coated bambino--also, sphinx cats do not tolerate anesthesia very well and can die if proper precautions are not taken.) Here, the vet gave me wonderful advice on how to care for Cinderella. I will definitely be returning for any future issues and highly recommend them!

Took my cat Thor here last week and today for a 2nd visit. The staff and Dr were very friendly and very helpful. This is a very honest place as I paid in advance and was reimbursed some money when picking him up as they didnt need to treat him to the extent that we thought prior. I've been going to ADCH for over 20 years. Dr. Leary took care of my Gus, Sybil and Esa and was with me when each of them crossed to the Rainbow Bridge. His care and compassion made very difficult times a little easier to bear. We were even able to have a little chuckle when Sybil hissed at him when she went to join Gus! She was a tough little girl! The staff is always so helpful, professional and friendly. Now Dr. Leary is taking care of my Duncan who has recently been diagnosed with diabetes. Duncan isn't very good about going to the vet (a HUGE understatement!) but everyone has been so patient with him -- and me! I tend to be a helicopter cat-mom! I was really overwhelmed at first but everyone has been so helpful. Dr. Leary's calm approach to everything and Natalie's help in teaching me how to give him his first injection meant the world to me. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my furbabies! ADCH is absolutely the BEST!

Recently, we adopted two kittens from the Bergen County Shelter. Unfortunately, one of the kittens soon became very sick so we took him to the Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital. We did not receive good news and had to put the kitten down but the whole experience was made so much easier because of the doctors and employees at the Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital. The vet was very kind and answered all of my questions. She did not beat around the bush or promise false hope. And then after we had put the kitten down, we were sent a condolence letter and it was evident that the vet remembered speaking to me because she mentioned the other two cats in my home. I plan on using this hospital for all problems going forward and recommend them to everyone.

Dr. Leary has been amazing for my dog, Lupin. He was able to put together a very effective medication plan to help my Lupin with his heart issues, and Lupin has been doing great since starting this medication in February. Lupin can also be a very difficult dog, but he never has any issues going to this vet’s office! Everybody is friendly and helpful, and I absolutely recommend taking your pet here for effective and kind vet care.

Brought in a stray almost dead female cat that found us on a hot summer day. The Doctor had very good bed side manner and was gentle with our little bag of bones. I was promised a call about test results that day and the doctor called at 630pm on a Saturday night, which was greatly appreciated since we didn't know what health issues she had or if she was dying. The Dr. didn't push extra tests or costs, just what was needed. We bought specialty cat diet food from the office and they have reasonable prices. No price gouging. Girls at the front desk are very nice, pleasant, and compassionate. We will be bringing our two dogs there as well because we enjoyed the experience so much.

My cat Little Bear had a severe blockage due to crystal formation, kidney stones and blood clots in his urethra which was enabling him to go to the bathroom on his own. After taking him to the emergency hospital, I was advised to follow up with his primary veterinarian at Arlington Dog and Cat. Dr. Leary and his staff were quick to diagnose him and explain the proper procedures in which we should move forward with prior to any surgery that may have been needed. As a pet parent it is hard to make some decisions at times and especially when you know your pet is in critical condition. With the education and knowledge from their staff it was easy to trust bear in their hands. He underwent 3 procedures which finally led to a major surgery called perineal urethrostomy within 2 weeks. I am happy to say that Little Bear is finally home and on his road to recovery. I cannot thank the staff enough at Arlington Dog and Cat for their kind compassion and support. I would highly recommend them to all. Thank you from Little Bear and me!

This place is just utterly amazing, Dr Hoey and the staff at Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital are true animals lovers and passionate about what they do. I found myself in a very unfortunate situation in that I was moving from the US to the UK and taking my pet dog with me, I used my local vet (4Paws in Englishtown) to provide me with guidance on the process of traveling with my dog to the UK, and I was poorly advised and misled. It meant I was traveling in less than 3 days without all the required paperwork, and worse still without a Rabies vaccination. The only fortunate part to my story was that we found Dr Hoey, who was very understanding and considerate of our situation. She knew the travel process inside out, and provided us with ongoing support and advice. Unfortunately we had to leave our dog in the care of friends in the US, and we had to travel to the UK minus a family member, but thanks to our friends and Dr Hoey we managed to get our dog reunited with the family only a few weeks later. Throughout the entire stressful saga, Dr Hoey showed extreme compassion and you just know what she does is so dear to her heart. You honestly couldn't find a more caring vet! I wished Dr Hoey could continue to be our vet, but now living in the UK it's a bit far to travel (and I never want to go through the paperwork again!! lol) I would reccommend Dr Hoey and Arlington Dog and Cat Hospital to everyone!! My pet was having an medical nightmare. Kind of feverish at 103 temp. They were able to see her right away after a great friend/neighbor called to schedule an appointment while driving to the location. They didn’t not refuse care or brush us off.
