I loved them its just I rescued my Jody and called them to clip his nails and check rash. Ask over phone what do I need when I come. Lady says nothing just dog... that's what I did. This is my first experience so had no idea on cost. They took him in back then brought him back and says I owe 140.00. Wait what? I don't carry money and we should have discussed initial fees and what my cost may be. They took care of my new baby and I'm thankful. I couldn't afford total cost... sorry for that. Had I had a break down in prices I could have got what I could afford at time. Sorry for any inconvenience ...thankful for you

My first visit, and seeing the love and welcome that the staff showered on all the pets that came thru the door was very nice. My dog was treated for an ear infection and wasn't stressed after her exam. I will return if needed.

Wonderful place with amazing staff. I showed up a little bit before they opened and they let me wait inside because I didn't have a vehicle. They called to update me after my baby got out of surgery, and they even offered an earlier pick up. The vet tech were also extremely nice and informative.

My cat did amazing with her recovery after getting neutered and the workers at this clinic were very kind and helpful. I let them know my cat was breast feeding and they did everything that they could to help me and have me advice on what to do if my cat wouldn’t want to give her children anymore milk. An extraordinary experience! I brought my puppy Tito in for his shots. Tito was rescued from the side of the interstate at less than 6weeks old . He is a mixed breed he looks a lot like a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I live in Metairie and the SPCA is closed in Metairie. I called around and visited several clinics in Metairie. Once they looked at my dog they said their insurance would not allow them to treat him or board him as he looked like a pittbull. I was thrilled Low Cost Animal Clinic accepted us with open arms! Their staff is super friendly and they LOVE their job. It shows in the way they speak each other amd their clients. I was concerned Tito would be aggressive since he has not been around unfamiliar people or other dogs. I was PLEASANTLY surprised at how Tito responded with pure joy when he met the vet, Dr. Broomhall, and staff. He received his one year exam and vaccinations. I explained to the vet how it is difficult for me to find hotels which will except my dog especially during Hurricanes. Jefferson parish has VERY LIMITED RESOURCES. I was elated to hear how New Orleans set up busses to provide water stations, air condition, and shelter for dogs during Hurricane Ida. Thank you for welcoming us with open arms. Tito and I love you. It was also FANTASTIC to learn other pet owners speak to their puppy like children teaching them kindness and thst there is enough love in the world for ALL OF US!

The clinic was clean and didn't smell bad. The entire staff is quick, friendly and welcoming. I did not wait long to be seen and once seen I was out within minutes. My dog, Harley was very happy to get a chew toy and lots of treats during her first visit. She loved the compliments and attention. They treated her with such care and love, she didn't even flinch when they gave her vaccines and did a stool sample. I will definately be going back for her future appointments.

5 year+ customer. Staff is friendly & knowledgeable. Never tries to upsell unnecessary products or procedures. Staff always works with a sense of urgency but never comes off rude. Heads up, it’s not the fastest service, but it’s definitely affordable service. That may be why the wait times can get lengthy. Phone calls are hit or miss. Either they’re busy & you get put on hold for awhile or they don’t answer at all. But their voicemail inbox is always full so you can’t leave a message. But overall, a great clinic. They treat my dogs kindly & I don’t get weird vibes from any of the staff.

i love this place!!! service is always great everyone is very kind. the vet takes their time to explain everything to me and they take great care of my cat!! they receive medication donations and that has helped me a few times in not having to pay for medications. And for half the base price of other vet visits (only $30 base pay!! it was at least $60 at my last vet), this place is worth every penny.

Scheduling appointments is simple and employee's work to fit us in as soon as possible with attention to my own schedule. The drop off process is safe, well explained, and easy. I went today for an annual exam and vaccinations for my dog, and I couldn’t imagine a more positive vet experience.The staff was incredibly friendly (to both me and my dog) and the vet’s exam was extremely thorough. The staff came out to the lobby periodically to update me about what was happening during her visit rather than leaving me sitting there wondering what was going on and when we would be leaving. The visit was quick and efficient, and the price was astoundingly inexpensive. I didn’t get the feeling that they were trying to up sell me or do anything that wasn’t necessary to get extra money out of me. My dog was in a great mood after the exam which tells me they treated her well. I will definitely be making all my appointments here, and I encourage you to do the same. Staff was friendly and appointment was very fast. Facility was very clean and there's a parking lot. As it was my first time here since covid I wasn't aware that customers had to call to check-in when they arrive. Also there is a number on each parking lot which was impossible to see!! There is also a board sign at the front of the door stating this but it's also hard to miss. I think they should send check-in instructions as a text alert or on the app on the day on the appointment so new customers don't get confused.

I've heard fantastic things about this clinic for awhile now, so when it was time to bring my ~10 year old canine companion in for her annual exam, I decided to try them out. I'm so glad I did! Not only is the pricing VERY affordable, but the staff is absolutely amazing! Everyone was super kind, patient, passionate, and professional. Their enthusiasm and compassion truly shows. My dog gets pretty anxious at the vet, but this trip was quick and painless (for both of us). The facility is impressively clean and the waiting room was big enough so that patients have a comfortable amount of personal space. If you can spare a few dollars, you can even add a donation to your total visit cost and help out the facility. I highly recommend Low Cost Animal Medical Center to anyone--whether you need the affordable pricing or not. And to all the pet care professionals there: keep up the FANTASTIC work!

I started bringing my new puppy here to get her shots. I really really like the place aside from being cheaper than mostly any other place I've been to. The people here, to me, are very nice and professional. If I had a complaint, the only thing I might mention is the phone issue. Don't think in the three times I've come I've ever just gotten a direct answer when I call to check in. Usually, get put on hold immediately. Today tho, I decided not to wait on hold and just walk inside and to my surprise no one was on the phone. So, it did make me feel like "why was I on hold". Don't get me wrong a small phone issue isn't enough to make me never come back nor get me upset...it just made me giggle. Anyways, I've already recommended the place to my mom...as they also have people who speak spanish. I'll be bringing both my girls here from now on.

I came to LCAMC because of one vet, Dr. Marisa Muniak. She is very knowledgeable and responsive to the needs of my dog and cats. She was a vet tech at my previous vet, and I am glad I "followed" her once she obtained her vet degree. I highly recommend her. The practice is busy, which is both good (it means they serve a big need) and bad (it can get stressful for my dog to be in the waiting room when it gets crowded, and I hope we can continue to wait outside until we are called).

OKAY. I never write reviews. So here's the good and bad. THE GOOD: Dr Marissa is amazing. She has dogs of her own and she is patient and knowledgeable. I brought my lab in when she hurt her leg and Dr Marissa took her time to examine her and explain it me (unlike some places *ahem, Banfield*) she was informative about my dogs condition and we talked for 30 minutes, she didn't rush me like some places *ahem, Banfield* . She wasn't interested in up selling for money, she would reccomend great products i could get at any store or amazon. Shes the reason I'll be coming here from now on, I hope she never transfers somewhere else. THE BAD: reception could be....improved..the older receptionists were good, but the younger girl seemed like she didn't know what she was doing and kept asking what my dog is here for (over and OVER again) which meant she wasn't listening in the first place. The other receptionist had to correct her several times. If you can deal with reception, it's worth it.

This place loves your pet as much as you do. My neighborhood cat Kostya was attacked by a large dog and had his shoulder shattered. Everyone here was so helpful and gracious. The care that Dr. Ulmer took with Konstantin was above and beyond. She knows what she’s doing and performs thorough examinations while keeping the pet owner in the loop, making sure they understand through the whole process. Everyone on staff was friendly and welcoming and happy that our little cat hasn’t used up all his lives yet.

This place is great! It's clear that the pets who come here for treatment are each treated with the utmost special care. The vet tech, vet and I all sat on the floor to be on my pup's level and make him feel more comfortable. The vet spent as much time as I needed in explaining the various possibilities in treatments. And, as the name says, affordable as well. Highly, highly recommended.

I love this place. My baby got really sick and it was very hard on me and on her. They made us feel loved and cared about through the whole process. Cheyenne felt very comfortable there. Unfortunately she didn't make it, but they were so caring and understanding. I would recommend this vet to anyone who is looking for love for you and your pet. I visited this new clinic to have my senior cats looked at for a recent vomiting/weight loss issue they both were experiencing. I had to be extremely cautious about my budget so I wanted to minimize my costs as much as possible. Marisa was the veterinarian that saw me and understood my concerns for my animals but with with a very tight budget. She took her time looking over each cat and was very nice and personable with me and great handling the cats. I appreciate her not rushing to one diagnosis or test to get me in and out like most vets...She had a few ideas on possible causes but narrowed it down to one blood test instead of a full panel which would have inevitably been too expensive for me. The test was very reasonable in price and ruled out our main concern, which was hyperthyroidism. She suggested the issue was diet related, and gave specific, affordable changes in food type, portion, and frequency of distribution...I am happy to report that my cats are all better now! At typical vets for such a visit for both cats I would've been paying upwards of $200-300. My total bill was $115!! The clinic is very nice and clean, all their staff are friendly and courteous and there is plenty of parking. I am so thankful that such a clinic exists and provides superior animal care! I recommend them to anyone! 👍🏼👍🏼

This place is awesome, and everyone working there is excellent at their jobs. Our cat was being an absolute monster, but the staff handled it really well. Despite the cat's abhorrent behavior, we got a super fast diagnosis & treatment. The doctor was friendly and compassionate and a real problem-solver, honestly. The two staff members (nurses?) that had to deal with our gremlin cat were amazing under pressure, and the whole team ultimately managed to give the jerk two injections without major incident. I cannot commend this team nor apologize for my cat's behavior enough! I will absolutely be getting him a sedative before ever bringing him there again, but I will definitely be a returning customer (just hopefully with a less angry cat).

These guys are awesome! The vet tech and vet were very nice and thorough. I only have a couple issues. The prices were not communicated to me until the end of the visit, and the front office worker who discharged us was very rude, talked over me, didn't explain anything, and I almost left without the rabies tag because she just ignored me after she gave me my first two papers so I thought I could leave.

Awesome, during this covid virus pandemic, they do a curbside service to minimize exposure which was seamless. Their prices are very reasonable and they ALLOW me to order my pet's scripts online ( not all do). I was also able to get a cheaper heartworm and flea medication after talking to the vet about my concerns. Great job

Everyone in the office was so super sweet and supportive. Everything was explained in detail and I was allowed to have as much time as I and our other furkids needed to say goodbye. This is the 3rd pet I've lost and it's always so hard. Having such a compassionate team of docs and techs helps. Unfortunately, I'll have to do this all over again with one of my dogs soon.

I brought my baby to low cost medical center after she was not getting better from my normal vet. They were extremely professional and supportive to her needs as well as mine. Unfortunately my baby was suffering from congestive heart failure which was not diagnosed by regular vet. and was to late in condition to be treated...they could of prolonged her for a very short time, though I felt that it would be best to let her go. The doctors were understanding and gave me the time to say goodbye and be with her. My baby Blue was cremated and now rests on my dresser in peace. Very affordable compared to other offices. They’re a nonprofit and get donations to keep costs low for pet owners who need it. I’ve been to veterinary clinics that do more expensive and complicated tests and medicines just to run up the price rather than a straightforward test and inexpensive treatment, and you won’t find anything like that at Low Cost Animal Medical Center.

I was skeptical about the quality of care my animals would receive at this clinic. However, with the number of animals I have, I needed to investigate low cost options. My initial contact was on the phone. The receptionist was pleasant and was able to give my dog anappointment within a week. The clinic is easy to find and has plenty of parking. I was greeted immediately upon entering. By the time I filled out the information sheet the vet tech was ready to get him weighed and then ushered us into an examination room with another vet tech. The vet techs asked some questions and took a blood sample to test for heartworm. I had to wait more than 15 minutes before the vet came in but she was worth waiting for. Dr. Marissa M? was really great. She got on the floor with my big boy and gave him a thorough exam. She personally adminstered the vaccines and made sure all of my questions were answered before they took him back for a nail trim. The also completed needle biopsies on a couple of growths he had. The Vet and the techs did all of this while loving on my dog and making sure he was as comfortable as possible. The pricing was comparable to the LASPCA but much cheaper than most animal clinics. Overall, I was very happy with all of the staff and the level of care my animals received. My only complaint is that they do not handle emergencies and conduct limited surgical procedures. Having senior dogs I know I will eventually need a clinic with more extensive services but for the time being I will be bringing all of my pets here.

The staff - especially Bianca the vet tech - were superb, the best veterinary service I've experienced in NOLA. Bianca handled a very sad moment with great care and professionalism. We took Abby (7 year old Beagle/Pit Bull mix) here this week, almost in a panic. Abby had contracted HGE, a serious condition with bleeding in GI tract, vomiting, bloody stool (LOTS) and potentially life threatening. It as scary stuff and frankly, we didn't think she was going to make it. Here, the focus was on Abby and immediate treatment. Staff was SUPER helpful, friendly, and treated her as well as we do. These aren't "clerks" but folks who obviously and genuinely love their patients. Dr. Kenwood was SPECTACULAR. From examination, diagnosis, and onto immediate treatment, I feel these folks saved Abby's life. Visit them for your pet, you'll be very pleased. And make a donation if you can. The "low cost" is due to their non profit status, ANY funds over and above treatment, or as a straight donation would be helpful to keep this jewel in New Orleans open and operating to serve pets and their owners. Could not recommend these folks highly enough. They are now Abby's veterinarian for the remainder of her life. Thank you Low Cost !!!!!!

At first I was told there were no available appointments until the next week, but after explaining the dog's condition, the receptionist told me to come in as a walk-in and showed concern and compassion for the animal's well-being. Our situation wasn't easy and the owner of the dog wasnt present, but the reception staff and doctor were super calm and helpful and not too judgemental. They respected the owners budget and really worked to provide cheap but thorough treatment. The bloodwork was only $80 for a cbc and 10 chem panel which is the cheapest price I've ever seen. After an exam, blood work, urinalysis, dewormer, fecal?, and dispensation of heartgard, the total bill was around $215. I've seen many an animal hospital and have even worked at a few of them, and this one really impressed me.

1st visit with my 12 year old pitbull, Skye. We needed her yearly shots and also needed her skin checked. She has had skin issues her whole life. She is a costly, high maintenance dog with allergies. A year ago she got a proheart shot ( to prevent heartworms) and I swear this made her skin issues 10xs worse! I got tired of the vet doping her on antibiotics, steorids, antifungals, and charging me hundreds of dollars. I changed foods, did oral medicines, applied grapseed and coconut oil, ordered costly skin shampoos, cooked food for her....everything! This vet suggested that she might be allergic to beef and chicken.....game changer. I am so cautious about what to give her, but never thought dogs could be allergic to chicken or beef. So stupid!! We are trying Purina Pro Plan Sensitive skin and stomach and whole earth farms, both salmon flavors and praying for a big change! I also went back to giving her her heartguard preventative by mouth and am not giving her the shot anymore!! They also gave me a website if I wanted to continue cooking her food. They took time out to offer cost effective solutions and listened to me while explaining things in layman terms. The only only thing I disliked was the wait and the unclean room. Very low cost in comparison to the other vets we've been too. Out vet tech was Fleascia and our vet was Dr. Marisa, both of whom deserve a raise....they really are not in it for the money.
