We have taken our zoo to several animal clinics but this is our favorite because the people who work here are all genuinely nice and caring. We are extremely comfortable taking our animals here for exams and leaving them here for surgeries. Their prices are reasonable and this place has good energy. Even though we have moved away from the area we still make the drive to come here when possible. Also it’s always been easy to get appointments in short notice here which is helpful with my schedule.

Dr. Sydney and her team are amazing! My dog is scared of everything, especially of going to the vet. Dr. Sydney is so patient and gentle with her despite my dog being a bit complicated, it always make me feel at ease and trust her even more. The whole team is incredible. And in terms of cost - I feel like they're always very reasonable. The bill is always much less than I expect. I would tell everyone to go to Animal Hospital of Old Metairie!

Okay first let me say, yes they are expensive. However I’m not from Louisiana and although I love my dogs more than the average person may I don’t have a good history with vets… I have never felt more comfortable and understood in a vets office than when I did with Dr Sydney Wodrich. She was amazingly kind and lovable. I have a 13 year old bully breed and he’s kinda a butthead when being dealt with at the vet but these people did amazing and gave me treatment options for his failing hips that were better and more economical than I’ve ever received before. Everyone was very kind and my dogs were never near other dogs which greatly relieved a lot of stress on us all. I thought they did a wonderful job. I couldn’t find the dogs records but it wasn’t an issue and although I spent just shy of 600 dollars for 2 dogs full shots and heart worm medication for a year plus the thorough exam, nerve pills oh and I added a last minute nail trim for my chihuahua mix which they also did a great job there because although she is a sweet heart one time a vet refused to do her back paws because “she freaked out” they did a great job no nicks or too short nails and they are almost all equal length. I feel very reassured about my babies health and with the exceptional care I received and I’m glad that I went here above anyone else. I can easily say they’ll be where I’m going for the foreseeable future and that gives me a peace money can’t buy.

Everyone that works in this office is incredible - the staff, techs, and veterinarians are all kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. We left our old vets office because of how horribly disorganized and impersonal it was - Animal Hospital of Old Metairie is the complete opposite. Very good experience here. Excellent veteranians and technicians and front office staff. Answered all my questions and explained procedure in a way I could understand. Vet performed ultrasound with same skill as I get my heart ultrasounds in a major hospital. Very impressed. Would highly recommend them.

I LOVE this vet’s office and everyone in it. Since my cat Binx had been diagnosed with kidney failure since last November, I pretty much talk to everyone there weekly to order subQ fluids for him. At this point, it feels more like talking with family as opposed to your normal “vet.” EVERYONE there cares for the animals that go there, and treat them as their own.

The team at Animal Hospitality of Old Metairie is absolutely top notch. They care deeply about the health and well being of our cat Albert. Earlier this year Albert was experiencing weight loss, seizures, low appetite and activity ... he was looking real bad. Working alongside the emergency folks at MedVet, Animal Hospital of Old Metairie was able to diagnose Albert's *very* unusual and rare condition and put him on a course of treatment that took Albert from his death bed to his usual trouble making self. Although all the staff is great, Dr Amelie deserves a huge shout out for staying on the case with this rare disease. If ya love your animals, the team here will take care of them for you.

One of the best animal hospitals ive been to. I have an older cat who needed a spay immediately. After calling everywhere in jefferson parish i was looking at a 3-2 week wait! one call and they had me in the very next day! after her vet visit she received the best care anyone could ask for. The staff are amazing, wonderful, caring people who i wouldnt hesitate to bring any of my furry family members over to next time. thank you so much.

So helpful! You saved the day. Our dog was scratching 24/7. Allergies, plus flea bites. They gave her a shot for allergies and some anti-bacterial, and anti- itching pills. No one else could see her on a Saturday morning, and it couldn’t wait till Monday. I want to thank all the staff, and Dr. Amalie for being there for us, and fitting is in. ❤️❤️🙏🙏

Dr. Sydney and her vet tech (sorry forgot your name) were amazing! My dog CiCi is normally a nervous wreck going to the vet office. Usually whines the whole time, there was hardly any of that here! CiCi took to Dr. Sydney and her tech instantly and cooperated the entire time. The car ride home was quiet as can be 🤐 Cost wise, like any vet they are pricey but worth it to have a calm doggy. Definitely a great experience and will be back!

I have very high needs animals (seizures and immune disorders in 2 of my animals) - Dr. Amelie has handled their care very skillfully and she herself is incredibly intelligent, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Benbow's front desk staff (shoutout Mary & Shyanna) are such warm people and real animal lovers. The location itself is convenient, clean, large, and has the right features to make this animal hospital truly all you need to care for your pet. First rate professionals, the care they gave to Pungo was top notch. I took him in for a grooming visit, dropped him about 8AM, and they worked his annual physical items in during the day with Dr. Amelie. Picked him up about 1pm. He came home with the best grooming he's had in several years. AND all his annual vet stuff was done as well. When I entered Benbow Veterinary, I was greeted with a positive and welcoming energy. The front desk ladies were so helpful and my vet tech was awesome with my dog. Dr. Benbow sat down with my dog made him feel comfortable and not stressed. He relaxed the entire time during his acupuncture treatment. Today was the first acupuncture treatment for my dog. Arriving there I felt anxious and worried about his medical condition and was unsure how he would handle the experience. But Dr. Benbow and her entire staff truly were exceptional. The front desk staff was so kind, informative, and they all acknowledged and greeted us. Dr. Benbow and her assistant together made the acupuncture experience easy and painless for my dog. He did so well, in fact, that half way through the procedure he had his tongue sticking out, and he seemed so happy as if he was feeling better already. Dr. Benbow explained the process thoroughly as she went through each step, as well as emailed me additional information. Another thing I appreciated is the phone calls and emails that were sent out as reminders prior to our appointment, and also the staff being friendly over the phone anytime I called. It's not often that an establishment has everyone greeting you, helping you, and caring for you all at once, but today I truly felt that from Dr. Benbow and her staff. Most importantly, I felt they took excellent care for my dog, and truly do care about his health and well-being. I felt safe and confident in trusting him with them. I would highly recommend Dr. Benbow for acupuncture needs, and we will be returning!

We love Dr. Benbow and her whole staff! We’ve been taking our newly senior dog there for acupuncture treatment and it’s made a world of difference for him! Even my husband has seen a difference and he was skeptical initially — our dog went from slowly getting up from lying down and dragging his back leg on walks to running like a young pup and rolling over again after just 1-2 sessions. We are now on a maintenance schedule for acupuncture and swear by it. Dr Benbow is amazing and super knowledgeable and friendly, we never ever feel rushed with her and I generally have lots of questions about lots of things. She’s been very supportive and helpful with non-acupuncture issues and closely corresponds with our dogs general vet and specialist. The office staff is also great, always excited to see our Steve and vice versa. The practice is quick and super clean, and we really feel like valued clients in good hands with them. My Rat Terrier, Jolie, developed "trick knee" and was unable to walk on her hind leg. My vet at the time would only offer surgery. I had been reading about Dr. Benbow for several years and wanted to change but knew she was in demand. Luckily, a friend of mine worked for Dr. Benbow and she asked if I could bring Jolie and Dr. Benbow said yes, of course. I was immediately impressed with the entire operation. You know, your front office staff set the tone with the patients. My former vet had a very rude person working their reception area which never made anyone feel welcome. Anyway, Dr. Benbow completed one acupuncture treatment on Jolie and she NEVER LIMPED AGAIN. We completed three treatments to be certain and to date, she's never had any further issues with her leg and that was two years ago. Last summer, I moved back to my hometown about an hour outside New Orleans and I took my baby to another vet who hurt her just giving her allergy shot. Jolie never knows she's even getting a shot from Dr. Benbow or her staff. And what a blessing that Dr. Benbow now offers extended hours. We have happily returned to Benbow VS and there we will remain. You're always greeted with a smile and pleasant welcome and they are genuinely glad to see you. I wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend Dr. Cynthia Benbow and her team. They've been such a blessing to me and Jolie and I know they will for you as well.

I brought my 17-yr-old cat to Benbow Vet Services for acupuncture treatments in hopes of improving her arthritis. None of the supplements I had been giving her seemed to be working, and my regular vet had nothing to offer her in the way of medicines. After one treatment she was walking better and not falling off things anymore. She's had several treatments since and continues to do well. I recently moved to New Orleans from Atlanta and was worried about being able to find a great Vet like the one we had back home. Benbow VS has not disappointed! The staff are friendly,knowledgeable and really attentive to my dogs needs. The offices are comfortable, spacious and clean. Best of all, they offer both traditional AND alternative med treatment options. There’s actually a vet place a lot closer to my home but I chose here because of the reviews and the pain management options (acupuncture)- a decision I have not regretted :)

Dr. Benbow is an amazing veterinarian and acupuncturist! I have been taking my pets to her for years now (since her clinic was on W. Metairie!) and have always had positive experiences. She is kind, caring, and knowledgeable! Her staff is great and I know they will handle my pets with care. Her acupuncture capabilities are amazing and I have seen how much they have helped my cat Pheonix with his elderly kitty issues as well as pancreatic insufficiency. I would recommend her to anyone who wants the best care for their pet. She also knows when to send out to a specialist and does not try to treat beyond the capabilities of her clinic, unlike some veterinarians. Great vet!

I have been going to Dr. Benbow for the past 7 years and not once have I ever been displeased with her service. Her staff is just as awesome. They are all so welcoming and super friendly. They cared for my little dog as if she was their own. Continuous love! This is not just a job for anyone there. I recently moved from around the corner to 14 miles away and although there are plenty vets close by, the drive is more than worth it to me. On my most recent visit, I met the new Dr. on staff, Dr. Newman, and just like Dr. Benbow, she is phenomenal! If you haven't tried BVS, I suggest you do. You and your fur babies will leave absolutely satisfied!

Dr. Benbow and her staff seemed to genuinely care about my dog's health and well-being. Don't judge a book by its cover. We pulled up in the back by accident and I was a little leary but when you walk in, it's super nice and very clean. We came in for an x-ray for our girl who is about to give birth. Dr. Coates made me feel so comfortable and answered all of my first time puppy questions without making me feel like a dummy, lol. All of the other staff were also very friendly. I highly recommend this place!

I love Dr Benbow and her staff. I started seeing Dr Benbow after winning a free acupuncture session at a Silent Auction, where I saw my 12 year old basset lab become more agile and less barky. I was so impressed by Benbow Vet Services, that I moved all three of my dogs to their care. In addition to the great medical and holisitc care Benbow provides, their offices are inviting and comfortable for humans and dogs alike. Every room I have been in has a floor mat where Dr Benbow inspects the pups, a couch or comfortable chair for the humans, and an exam table if needed. My 10 year old beagle was having problems walking because of arthritis and spondylosis. Our vet (an uptown vet), was just giving her pain medication, and wasn't helping her. He said she needed more, and more pain medication. I found Dr. Benbow online while searching for a pet acupuncturist. When we arrived, my dog was stiff like a robot. She left feeling better, and walking better after the acupuncture session. Not only did Dr. Benbow help my dog with several acupuncture follow ups, but she also changed her diet, and gave me a lot of tips to improve my dog's overall health. Dr. Benbow not only saved my dog, who now looks and acts like a puppy, but was always available for questions, and her gracious team has always been there for us (we have 3 dogs). She doesn't work on Thursdays because she takes these days to study and keep up with the latest medical knowledge. Dr. Benbow, Victoria, Brooke, Jessica, and all the women that work at this office are fabulous! I can't say less. I am very sad we are moving to another city and not being able to take them all with us! Thank you for caring for our pets!

Changed veterinary services following my dog's mammary gland removal. Dr. Benbow's clinic agreed to step in for suture removal and all follow-up care. The office staff could not be more kind and accommodating. Sam was very patient, professional and welcoming at the front desk. Gabby was our tech, and she treated me and my dog with loving kindness...insisted on greeting my dog at floor level prior to beginning any information gathering! Dr. Boudreaux was gentle and attentive to the dog's needs and to mine, as well!!! She was very thorough, answered all questions completely and helped me to understand at a lay-person level! The clinic is warm and inviting. There are clean terrycloth towels over cushions on exam tables, for the animals' comfort. My dog was immediately relaxed and comfortable, and I was very grateful for this most welcome change in providers. Dr. Benbow is amazing. Both of our dogs love her and her staff who know them by name and love and cuddle with them at each visit. Macy is 13 and has always been sweet but lately didn't seem herself. Wonderful service from all staff and vet at Benbow. Everyone has been and continues to be very understanding and caring for my fur babies. I have been an emotional mess since my dogs cancer diagnosis in April but the staff and vets have offered nothing but compassion through this trying time.On our first appointment, Dr. Benbow reassured and walked me through what would happen during her tumor removal surgery. Made sure to emphasize that someone would be with my girl through whole procedure and she would constantly be monitored before, during, and after. That was a big relief for me to know she would be in great hands and truly cared for. Surgery day came along and Dr.Newman was wonderful and empathic to my concerns. She called before surgery and as soon as my sweet girl was successfully out of surgery. She informed me she was able to remove all of the tumor . She answered my endless questions with patience. About a month ago another lump appeared at incision site so scheduled an appt and was seen by Dr. Ducoing. Again my pup and I were shown nothing but understanding and compassion. Lump turned out to be her body healing and adjusting to the sutures. And no cancer cells found in it. Can’t thank vets and staff enough! With great care from Benbow vets, my pup is doing great and her outlook is very optimistic.

I started seeing Dr. Benbow a few years ago when my rabbit was referred to her for acupuncture for arthritis in her back. Sarah went from having trouble getting in her litter box, even with medication, to being off meds and able to jump up on my bed again. Her arthritis has progressed but the acupuncture from Dr. Benbow has slowed it greatly and kept her from needing medication, and me from having to fight her to take it. I take my cats to Dr. Benbow and still do after moving back to Baton Rouge. I have an elderly cat with multiple health issues who was a rescue kitten and has always been nervous at the vet. The first time I brought him in, he happily let Dr. Benbow carry him around. He's never been this calm at the vet, and her kindness and thoughtfulness have calmed me during visits. I walked in the lobby and there was a girl sweeping the floor. She was very polite and asked how I was doing and if I was Guillermo's mom. I said yes and she brought me to a room straight away. I filled out the paper work in the room while I was waiting for the doctor. When the doctor came in she sat on the floor with Guillermo and even let him sit in her lap while she pet him. She was knowledgeable and very caring of Guillermo. I'm happy I was given "homework" to do with Guillermo to help in his recovery. I was told about different supplements that may help him more but didn't feel like I was being pushed to buy products. When I was leaving I looked at the special project gift shop and was very happy to see that there. Over all, the office was clean, the people were polite and knowledgeable and Guillermo is already showing a difference in how he walks and stands. After Bella was given ear medicine by another veterinary office that lead to ototoxicity and hearing loss, I called Benbow one evening. If you are looking for a vet, then look no farther. Everyone here is so caring and compassionate when it comes to your fur babies. You are treated with the utmost love and respect. They take the time to call and check up a day or 2 after your visits also. I can call on Dr. Amalie at anytime and she is always there to help. She has been my babies vet for about 11 yrs and I would follow her to the moon if I have to.
