I came here the day after Christmas during a snow storm with my dog. The staff was friendly, patient & thorough with my pet. They took excellent care of my pomchi and asked if I was okay with each procedure/price before doing it. My dog was feeling better within hours of being seen here. I highly recommend going here!

This is the best vet I have even been to. They worked so hard to get my pup back to good health. I was well informed of his diagnosis and even was informed of something we didn't even know was a possible issue. I have been coming here for a few years now and have had excellent service everything. For those that seem to be upset at long wait times for the walk in days. Try to understand that they do their best and take care to give as much time and attention as possible to concerned pet owners. The same ones I see harping about a long wait I bet you would be the same one to want them to spend extra time on your animal. Try to just be understanding yall. They are great vets and techs. I trust them with my dogs life... they saved him once and I know they could again.

Amazing staff! The bad reviews are misleading! The providers were excellent and attentive! They even helped set me up for auto ship of my dogs meds from start to finish. I waited for a walk-in and it was worth it! Great prices for comprehensive animal health! Make an appointment if you don’t want to wait. Be kind to these overworked people!

Have brought both of my fur babies here, one time being an emergency, and have had a good experience with this clinic every time! They have you wait in your car and call you when it's your turn, which I personally like more than waiting inside. Good prices and friendly people!

The most important thing to me when it comes to the vet, is transparency. I added a puppy to the family, and needed puppy vaccines, heartworm treatment, neuter, the whole nine yards. Nothing is more frustrating than contacting a vet, and not getting a clear answer as to what to expect, then when you show up, are charged way more than you expected and expensive (usually useless) “plans” are pushed on you. Yes the “affordable” part drew me in, but honestly, I’d come here regardless just based on the clear and easy to obtain treatment options. BEST PART: everyone here is so nice and informative! They’re fast, organized, and my little guy is always excited to come- even after being poked and prodded lol. 10/10 can’t recommend enough!

I was really happy with my visit here with my dog Brownie. A bit of a wait on weekends for the walk-in visits, but that was expected. Very reasonable prices, and professional care. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and set my mind at ease. Brownie is already doing better after the visit, and I am grateful.

Dont listen to the bad reviews folks. They got my baby in and out with a great price and great care. Even taught me a trick to give my baby her medicine after doing it for me!!! They were thorough and walked me through everything i needed and didnt rush when i had questions. The wait was long but thats what you do for your babies, and probably why it takes a bit longer. They actually care and take the time to make sure everyone is covered. Id wait 6 hours if i had to for a non emergency. If you need IMMEDIATE care, then go to the ER Vet.. they do not have time to do their jobs and listen to a bunch of impatient karens. Get there early before they open if you want to be seen ASAP, otherwise zip it. Overall, friendly staff with thorough procedures. Affordable prices. And they are doing the lords work by staying open during the weekends!!! Yall are amazing❤️

I have nothing but good things to say about my experiences with Affordable Vet Care. The entire staff is so caring and patient. They always take the time to respond thoughtfully to all of my questions and truly have the best interest of my pets in mind. They were phenomenal with my senior dog who had seizures and I had lots of questions for, and they have been just as great for my senior pup with back issues and my two cats. One of my biggest concerns when moving to the area was finding a vet that could meet my expectations that had been set by my old vet, Affordable Vet Care has gone above and beyond and I am very lucky I found them.

Have been taking my pets to Affordable vet care for several years. Great people and good service. Took my mini schnauzer in today to have the nails clipped. The cost was $20. Not very affordable compared to it being $10 not to long ago. Understand when some of their products increase in price. Do not understand a 100% increase in price for this service in a short period of time.

Cannot say enough great things about this place!! They treat my pets like family, and ALWAYS help me when needed! Nine times out of ten they can fit me in, and when the one time they couldn’t, they gave me three different quick, effective, and affordable alternative vets to visit! I rarely write reviews, but I have to show some love for the staff at AVC! They were super friendly and the services were efficient & a great value. My cat made a mess in her carrier and they cleaned it up for me during her exam. I'm grateful that they're open on weekends, and they took great care of us during our visit!

I have been a client with Affordable Veterinary Care for a little more than two years. I have always had FIVE star service each time I go. One of my dogs has severe anxiety and Miss Shannon has been so patient and so kind that we went from a needing a muzzle to now getting a tail wag when we come in for our regular nail trim. The entire staff is super friendly, very professional and knowledgeable about pet care. I am extremely picky when it comes to care for my pets and I am so grateful to have found AFV and especially thankful that Miss Shannon has gone above and beyond what I would have ever expected with routine pet care. Saturday visit as my dog was showing signs of an ear infection & our normal vet is closed on the weekend. It was well worth the walk in wait. Everyone there was so very nice & caring. The cost was extremely lower than I expected or have paid at weekend emergency clinics for this type of visit. So thankful to have a wonderful local clinic when we needed it.

They have always been SO wonderful with my dog Kurt. He has horrible allergies that turn into ear and paw infections all the time, and this is the vet I always went to for the best care for my animals (after trying Banfield and many other vets that didn't take me seriously or didn't help). Recently I moved to Birmingham, but I still make the 3 hour drive to them or call them if I have any problems and they're always happy to give me advice on medications and treatments, even though I'm not in office. I actually called crying this morning because my local vet has just been tugging me around with ineffective treatments, and Affordable Veterinary care went above and beyond to help me find help for him. I called my local vet after and they hadn't even heard of the treatments, I'm so glad I can still call and get help from you guys.

My first time here today. Getting a check up on my youngest cat before he gets fixed. I waited maybe 30+ minutes to be seen because if an emergency the doctor had to do first; completely understandable. The guy at the front desk was amazing, asking about my cat when I got there and he took my cat to be checked out while the doc was busy. He was really nice and seemed to generally care about the animals. He alone will have me coming back, thanks so much!

Dr. Ritchie has taken care of my sweet yorkies for years. Friday 8/14, he and the wonderfully caring and compassionate staff at AVC helped me say goodbye to Lacey. She was an old girl, 16 1/2 years old. She loved the beach. I am so grateful to the team for all of the care through the years and for your kindness on this heartbreaking day for our family. I just wanted to leave a review for the team here, they are so kind and amazing. My gerbil had to be euthanized and they were very caring about the whole situation. Some people may not see that even the death of your pet gerbil can hurt the way the loss of a cat or dog does. They sent the sweetest letter from the staff that made me so happy to see.

Out kitty was incredibly sick and our normal vet canceled our appointment at the last minute. This was the only vet nearby that allowed us to perform a walk-in, and was even kind enough to see us immediately due to how sick our cat was. Happy to say our cat also seems to be starting to feel better!

They were amazing as always with my furbaby cat. Turns out she has a flea allergy, poor baby, but they hd us in, her diagnosed, treated, Nd us on our way very quickly. But not pushing us out the door quick. The vet and the tech were very kind, listened to us and our questions, and even let us share some pics of our other fur babies. I will continue to take all of my animals here. They are FABULOUS and SUPER affordable!

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Gibson and Christina!! All the other staff as well, but shout out to these two!! I had my German Shepherd in there and even though it was close to closing they took care of her! She got bit and the patience and kindness they provided was better than anywhere else!!! I’m already a client but will NEVER look elsewhere with these two being there!!! This was our first time here. Unfortunately not under the best circumstances. Our dog had a large mass of some kind come up a few months ago an we had taken here to another vet who didn't do much of anything for our dog other than charge us to poke an prod on her. Our dogs condition worsened over night an we brought her in. The staff was amazing! Extremely caring, passionate, helpful, and informative. I wish I had gotten the names of the staff but under the circumstances I probably wouldn't have remembered them. We unfortunately had to put our dog to sleep, but the staff here made it a little bit more bearable for us. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone in need!

I honestly can not say enough good things about this vet. Most places will charge an arm and a leg for simple procedures. Their prices are incredibly reasonable and they provide quality care. They were able to get my dog in same day for a torn toe nail and take care of it in a short period of time. I will recommend this vet to any one who asks where they should take their fur babies.

We have been through every experience with Affordable, From initial visit with a puppy, neutered/spayed and death of a lifetime companion. The staff there is wonderful. They make sure you understand everything and tell you all of your options. They don’t push anything on you they let you make your decisions. And when it comes time to say goodbye to your friend they are the most compassionate Group of people you can meet.

The doctors and staff here are absolutely amazing. We stopped going to another veterinarian for certain reasons and ever since have been coming here. I called today 45 min before they closed to see my dog for an UTI and they told me to hop in the car and come on in. The service was wonderful and everybody was kind beyond belief. Brought my animals in for their boosters. I explained that my girlfriends dog tested positive for heart worms and that I wasn’t understanding all that entailed and the vet tech went over the testing process and meds to protect, and to treat. She helped me to understand so my fur baby will now be better protected in the future. I’m glad I switched vets. They are very thorough and kind to my pets. I don’t feel rushed, or pushed to buy something unnecessary. I have three cats and one dog. We will definitely be back!

At short notice, my fiance and I had to bring our cat to the vet to update her shot records. I was extremely nervous as I have never taken a cat to the vet before and she hates her kennel and being around new people. They took her back in her kennel by herself which made me even more nervous. However, the staff was amazing. Very caring towards the animals and reassuring to her as I told him about being scared. The visit was quick! Five minutes went by between when they took her back and brought her back out. Cheap and quick! Amazing for their walk-in weekend hours!

My dogs were going to a different vet in a fancy office with prices that were steep, but I thought I was getting quality care. Needless to say, I was sadly mistaken and a simple spay and $100 added surgery expense left me $3,000 in vet bills. I took my dog to Affordable and they advised right away what was wrong and referred me to the specialist that fixed my dog's botched surgery. Since then all four of our dogs have been moved to AVC and we couldn't be happier. The staff loves our dogs, the owner stops to say hi whenever we visit and the vets have all been great. Thanks AVC for taking great care of our pups.

We recently had to have our sweet Mocha put down due to a catastrophic injury. Kelsey and Dr. Gibson were so wonderful to us and to Mocha. They allowed us to take as much time as we needed with her, they explained every step of the process, and truly seemed to care about us and our dog. I couldn't wait to post this review. I had my first experience with AVC today and it was amazing. EVERYBODY was kind and caring. The place was packed 15 mins after they opened but i only had to wait an hour and it was worth the wait. My dog was difficult to handle because he was scared and in pain but they never complained or gave up on him. I have a new vet! Don't hesitate to go there with your furry friends. You'll be glad that you did.

This place is awesome! Had a self declared “emergency” with our puppy and needed an X-ray. Scheduled an x-ray with them and asked to let us know if they could get us in earlier. 2 hrs later they were able to get us in and get the treatment our pup needed! Everyone is so friendly, affordable prices and just a pleasant experience every time we go there. Our pup’s tails are always wagging going into the building. I would never consider taking my animals anywhere else. To anyone in the Middle TN area, I would recommend this vet. Affordable Veterinary Care is actually as it sounds...affordable, but they also take the best care of animals. These veterinarians and techs are not in it for the money, they do it for the love and care of our furry family members. It shows. AVC was recommended to us from shelter volunteers, who take their own animals to this clinic, when we adopted our fur baby. This clinic has gone above and beyond for us each time we went. When we got the unfortunate news that our kitty was sick, they were extremely compassionate and patient with us through diagnosis to euthanasia. The doctors and techs even sent out a note to us after to give their individual sympathies to us. Thank you to Dr. Gibson, Dr. Smith, and your entire staff for taking care of our kitty.

I called this place in hopes of them allowing me to bring my cat in immediately and they did. The receptionist was very kind and helpful. My cat was treated and released within 30 minutes. And to top it off, it was 200$ cheaper then what I thought it was gonna be. I highly recommend this place.

Christina and Renee just to name a couple of the Tech's and Dr.'s are ALL very knowledgeable, kind, loving, and genuine when it comes to the patients and owners. From major surgery to just a nail trimming or vaccination I've had all 4 of my (fur babies) dogs there and they not only remember me and each of my very different pets, but they quickly resolve any emergency or procedure in a kind, quick, and efficient manner. We took our dog in a week ago, she was not walking on one of her legs and we grew concerned. Any time we would try to feel around her leg she would get a little grumpy. We had expected with her being very sore and the vet being a stranger it may be worse so we warned them before they even touched her, she has a very loving nature other than that. We had fully expected that they'd put a muzzle on her but to our surprise and relief they didn't, they just had someone come in and hold her and she was so good to her, talking to her and keeping her calm. They decided they needed an x-ray and tried to do it without sedation but she wouldn't allow it. They told us it'd be a couple hours and it'd be best if we left and got lunch then came back. It was hard to leave our fur baby but we really felt she was in good hands and they were so good to her. We got a call as soon as she woke up and went back in to talk to the vet, she explained everything clearly, answered every question we had, talked to us about all the alternatives with other things we found and talked to her about while we were there. We will definitely be taking her back and taking our other dog there. To top off the amazing staff the price was very affordable, we know what we'd have paid if we went to another vet. We highly recommend this vet office to anyone.

The staff was so kind, caring, and very professional. Renee and another young lady were so compassionate, as we had to say goodbye to our beloved fur baby. They explained the whole process and gave us as much time as we wanted to say goodbye. They even sent us a beautiful sympathy card with hand written condolences from all the staff. Vicky Avakian on my husband’s account-Wonderful experience! This was my first time going to this Vet. I called a few weeks prior to scheduling to inquire about getting heartworm testing, prev, physicals and a vaccine for my two Doxie girls. The person that I first spoke with was nice, professional, informative and helpful. I had concerns/questions about their Covid protocol because I have breathing issues and I’m afraid. I called again a few weeks later and got another very helpful person to help me schedule my appt. So nice! I was still worried about going in and she made suggestions about what time of day would be best and was just so nice and reassuring. I went early for a first appt and they all wear masks here. This Clinic is clean and well staffed. They were super with my girls! The doctor was kind, personable and gave my girls physicals and made a suggestion of a dental. Not in a pushy way at all. My Lucy is older and I know it’s necessary. She’s a nice doctor that clearly has a love for animals and is nice to people too. Her support staff is exceptional as well. I will definitely be back and feel comfy to recommend them and will schedule that dental for Lucy. Thanks so much Affordable Veterinary Care for making what was a stressful tip to the Vet a very pleasant experience in spite of my nerves over Coronavirus! My girls Lucy and Greta are thankful to for your kindness.

This morning I found myself in a terrible predicament. My cat had been sick after being missing for over 2 weeks and we had been in and out of the vet this week. Over the weekend she deteriorated quickly and the vet I had gone to had no emergency services. My cat was suffering and a friend told me to look up affordable vet in Mount Juliet and this place came up. Truly a blessing Dr Pennington and the staff took amazing care of us and treated us with more dignity and respect that the other vet who was paid several hundreds of dollars more. I am truly grateful to y’all. Dr Pennington and Miss Nikki who were with me when my fur baby was laid to rest were thoughtful and kind and provided me with information on a disease I was never aware of (bobcat fever) and it was surely what my poor baby had. The other vet never mentioned this at all. It was a tough time and I was in and out without being rushed and treated with a kindness I will never forget. This is proof that exams and medications can be available at a lower and more reasonable price point without sacrificing quality vet care. Love this vet! After using Lebanon Animal Hospital for 2 years, I finally started to look at other vets for a second opinion after my pup was having a reocurring issue. Not only did Lebanon Animal Hospital charge me $400 for the visit, they had no resolution and then sold us soft canned foods because they thought that would help. His issue happened again and this time we took him to Affordable Vet and on the FIRST visit, they diagnosed him and performed surgery on him. AND, it was amazingly affordable for the entire procedure. They are super friendly and kind and have fantastic customer service. I love them and I'll never go to anyone else ever again. The way they treat my pups means a lot to me and they've won me over big time.

Fantastic service and prices! They saved two of my dog's lives. Such a caring and friendly staff and so helpful and professional, they called me at home later to check on the progress. Price is more affordable than other vets I have been to and they explained in full detail what was needed, why and the cost. Sadie escapes my fence after it rains to go to the creek, she had gotten a parasite and was deathly sick, she got the right meds, IV and she immediately was healed and gained weight like a miracle. My other dog, Sweetie, started getting crusty nose and also on eyelids and Dr. Hunt knew exactly what it was. She put Sweetie on meds and she is getting better. Our pets are like our kids, I will be taking all my pets here! Avoid the rest if you want the best! Thanks so much for everything!

Summary: Excellent expertise, pet owner-provider dynamics, and devotion to pet care. Weekend hours available (HUGE!). Very affordable prices. Highest recommendation. My cat grew very ill very quickly a couple of weeks ago--equally terrifying, over a weekend. Desperate, I searched online for a veterinary clinic open on a Sunday that wasn't an ER (due to cost barriers) and discovered this one. Affordable Veterinary Care truly is marked by excellence. Notable compliments: 1. All veterinary staff truly "know their stuff"--I felt at ease with my cat being in their care. 2. I was included in all decision making. 3. Nothing was sugar coated. Diagnosis, prognosis, and cost were all spoken with complete honesty AND kindness. It takes courage to speak the truth in a stressful situation--where it is needed most. 4. All veterinary staff were on board with my cat's care and stayed after hours to see his care all the way through. My cat ended up having to have an emergency procedure performed. Not only did this clinic rescue my cat from a potentially fatal condition, the veterinarian used sound clinical judgment to explore less invasive options (if appropriate and possible) for his comfort. I walked away from this event incredibly relieved. My cat was safe. So was my pocketbook. No medical care is ever free, nor should it be. Yet, we all know when a service is worth it or not. Affordable Veterinary Care, without doubt, provides excellent care at a manageable price: an indisputable value.

We had got a puppy about 3 weeks ago and were told he had shots and dewormed. He started whining and going to bathroom this afternoon and we could tell he was in pain. On a sunday they were the closest emergency vet to Lebanon. Our dog had distemper and it's not curable. These ladies were so nice in this situation and just understanding. I have a concern about what they call a physical for my pet.The fact that the doctor came in and looked at my pets gums and then did a flip of each ear not even looking inside of it with an ear scope. Then they rub their hands down the sides of the dog to check whatever they were doing, but never listened to my pet's heart rate or took my pets temperature.I feel as though if you're going to charge for a physical whether be a dog or a person you should get a complete physical. I was very disappointed in the fact that that was what they called her exam for $39.

We had an emergency situation with our dog Daisy this past Friday (6/19/20). She had a seizure and after our regular vet could not see her due to being in surgery we called the other local vet (Banfield Hermitage and MJ) where that vet was also in surgery and could not see her. I was told to go to the ER vet on Sidco drive. Rush hour traffic...it was going to take me 45 mins to get there. In a panic, I pulled into Affordable Vet Care and ran hysterically inside asking someone to look at my dog. I just needed a vet to put their hands on her and get her stable (and get myself stable) before I could safely drive her to an emergency vet. AVC WAS AMAZING. AMAZING. A young man (I didn't get his name) calmly came out immediately and carried Daisy into the office, another tech took information from me while the vet, Dr Gibson, took care of Daisy. Within mins they came back out and told me she was rapidly recovering but that I did exactly the right thing by getting her into a vets hands ASAP. They stabilized her, went over all the potential issues that could have caused this and thoroughly explained how to help her in the future, the meds she was given and how to get in touch with them if we needed to follow up. This is our second interaction with this vet, and both experiences have been truly outstanding. We are seriously considering switching to them due to our fantastic experiences. And we are eternally grateful for their loving care of Daisy in one of the most frightening dog emergency experiences we have ever had.💜🐾

Recently and very unexpectedly I lost my aussie Zoey and we needed to find somewhere who could help us get paw prints and do a cremation (and on a Sunday no less). They truly went above and beyond and despite never even meeting our family, they were sincere and sweet on one of our worst days. When i went in yesterday i was not happy with the way the vet spoke with myself and my daughter and got snappy with my 12 year old daughter for trying to comfort our kitten. Today i went back for xrays and Dr Tumas (not sure of spelling) was very sweet, i just really liked her all around. The entire staff of receptionist and nurses were so sweet and made me feel like they totally cared. My cat has a broken pelvis and the dr made me feel so relieved when walking out the door where as the other lady had the nerve to complain about my cat whom i bathe monthly having fleas after i made it very clear she ran away and wad outside for 24 hrs. Like that is the least of my worries when you are supposed to be examining possible broken body parts

My friend rescued a kitten, RÜFÜS, off the street. He was in poor health, she took him to a community vet in Goodlettsville and they treated him for an upper respiratory infection before I brought him home. That cleared up, we got him neutered and up to date on shots at The JOY Clinic (they were wonderful, too), and the infection came back about a week later. I'm new to the area and we didn't have an established relationship with a veterinarian yet, so I did a quick search and called with questions about the eye gunk my new baby cat was experiencing again. They told me to drop in and they'd take care of him. We showed up about 20 minutes later, they took him straight back, got him weighed, examined, and diagnosed, prescription filled, and we were out the door in 15 minutes. Total cost with medication was less than $70, I was prepared to spend twice that. They spent more time cuddling and loving on my kitten and telling me how cute and soft he was than they did treating him, and even though they were busy, everyone was patient, kind, and friendly. Absolutely incredible, I am so glad to know this clinic is nearby, we will absolutely utilize their services in the future.
