They got my dog in for a same day appt. The veterinarian did a thorough exam and provided us with lots of treatment options. She was super gentle and kind with my old pup. She also responded to a follow up question via email and gave great detail in her response to ensure I understood her answer. Great care and staff!! Ever vet we’ve seen has been wonderful! Woodlake genuinely cares about people and their pets. I needed to get my dog in for a last-minute vaccination before a big trip, and in order to fit me into their full schedule, the vet came in early one day. The staff I interacted with at the front were also incredibly kind. Thank you, Woodlake staff! We'll definitely be back.

Best Vet and great experience thus far. Our kitty Hiro was treated so well with his initial exam and surgery here. Staff is amazing from the front desk to the clinical team! they are transparent about prices and I feel they genuinely do have your pets best interest in mind. None of our cats have ever been in to Woodlake. So why am I leaving this review? Because on Friday (today is Monday), as one of our kitties was growing visibly ill, our regular vet was booked out too far -- and none of the other dozen or so vets I called in desperation was going to be able to see her for at least a week. Woodlake said they could squeeze her in this Tuesday -- tomorrow. Sadly, she died last night. She must have chosen a time when all four of her humans were together; both of our adult sons were here. It was all very sudden, and came just six months after another of our beloved kitties died. I called Woodlake and left a voice mail saying why we wouldn't make it. Not only did they send me a really kind text this morning with their condolences; they ALSO left me a sweet voice mail, and later in the morning, called me again. What wonderful, caring people. I am so thankful to know that this clinic is here and staffed by such sweethearts.

AFTER I adopted TWO pups at the same time from the same litter (pandemic decision, I would not repeat), I found Woodlake Vet Clinic. We are SO GLAD we did! They never judged (at least out loud 😀), they are always available, kind and responsive. Dr. Wendland, Martha, Jack and everyone in the front office have been great, especially as we prepared and recovered from being spayed this week. Life can be hard for a couple of coneheads but with Woodlake Vet’s support for two pups and their new dog mom, we are doing well.

I have been going to Woodlake Veterinary Hospital since we moved to Minnesota in 2017. My dog is my baby and I’ve always been happy with the care he’s received here. Most recently we went to Dr. Leverentz and had such a wonderful experience! She got down on the floor and let my timid dog get used to her, she took the time to really go over all options and answer my questions. I’d always recommend Woodlake to fellow pet owners!

I have truly never felt more confident about taking my cats to a veterinarian. I switched to Woodlake after using Banfield (and after a negative Banfield experience). I did extensive research on all of the clinics in the area and concluded that Woodlake seemed like the best option. The difference has been astronomical. Vet visits used to be an incredibly stressful event for both my cats and myself. Until Woodlake I was so nervous that they may not get the best, or most gentle/loving, care they deserve. Although they still don’t necessarily ENJOY going to the vet (Who can blame them? People are scary!), I think the fact that I’m less stressed has helped them feel better about the experience. Plus, the Woodlake staff makes us feel like extremely valued family members.

We've been bringing out two pups to Woodlake for about 3 years now. Originally I was searching for an option for neutering my first dog. They offered a paw plan (monthly payment plan) which included the neutering and his annual shots, etc. We've since been able to get pet insurance for our first dog, but still have our second on their paw plan, which works out well. We've had a two billing errors but they've always fixed them right away, and they also were kind enough to reverse a fee when we had pre-existing circumstances. They're a great vet clinic to check out if you're in the South Minneapolis/Richfield area.

There is a reason this place has the reviews it does. This was my first visit to a vet and my cat had to have a pretty extensive mouth surgery. The entire experience from start to finish was amazing. Woodlake performed surgery on our pup and they did a great job. Checkin, surgery, post surgery recovery and pick-up were all great! Again we had surgery on a dueclaw and all went well. Would like to have had a little more preop consult with the vet tech or vet. Had a well visit with our dog recently. Tech and Vet were very thorough and attentive to his needs. They spent plenty of time to be sure they had all the current info on him. They also answered all of our questions. We feel very comfortable having our pup cared for by the staff and vets at Woodlake.

The doctor was fantastic! The tech was wonderful. The front desk is so friendly. It was nice to walk into the clinic and actually see other people with their pets and everyone was chatting!!! Even though the news wasn't good for our dog, the vet was just so caring and she gave us all the information we needed to make an informed decision on how to move forward.

I have had nothing but good experiences with both my cat and my dog. They are so kind with both of them and very patient. I also love how they are able to do their examinations in a minimally invasive way (ie just on the ground with them while they are in whatever position they find comfortable). Their Paw Plan is also really helpful if you pet needs routine visits for teeth cleaning etc or a major surgery; we used the Paw Plan one year for our rescue cat that needed 2 surgeries and all the check ups for health conditions and it saved us money that year.

I was very happy with my visit to Woodlake with our dog! She had an ear infection and we were trying to get into a vet quickly, since our previous clinic had just closed. Woodlake was able to get us in the following day for a walk-in, and they cleaned her ears thoroughly and send us away with antibiotics. It was a quick and easy experience- I appreciate the team fitting us in quickly, getting to the root of the problem, and having the care and patience to work with my anxious dog. Every doc my dog Douglas has ever seen has been the most kind person I have ever let touch my dog. They are knowledgeable, experienced and treat my dog like he is their long lost family member. I don’t know how I will be able to get everything I love about this place into one review. I’ve brought my dog and cat here for years. I have a difficult dog and they always put my mind at ease. My cat is also unkind to vets sometimes but dang if they aren’t completely patient and professional with her while she hisses at them. As a travel nurse it came that time to get the dogs vaccines and we are over 1000 miles away from our home vet. So I made an appointment here at Woodlake and it was best decision I could have made. All the staff was extremely nice and treated all 3 dogs as if they had been going there for years. If I lived in Minneapolis area they would definitely be our home vet!

The Woodlake Vet Hospital in Richfield has a good reputation; has been a trusted clinic in my wife’s family since she was growing up. My experience here was very good. The vet took time to answer our many questions and gave us helpful information about their plans, vaccinations, and just general puppy health. They were a wiz when it came to doing a checkup on our 8-week old pup. He basically didn’t even know the vet gave him two shots because she was so good with him.

I have never been unhappy with this clinic in the 12 years we have brought our pets here. I am always able to get in quickly, whether for wellness or acute care. The vet techs and the vets are all great. There hasn’t been a whole lot of staff turnover, which says something for any clinic—whether for animals or for people. My pets get great care, the staff are great at educating me as a pet owner, and the care plan is collaborative. As a nurse practitioner who takes care of people, I know these are the factors that make for great care.

I moved here during Covid so have only experienced that part of this vet hospital. I have never seen or spoken to the vet in person, though they have left voicemails. My only interactions are with staff that shuttle my animals in/out. Prices seem par for the course and fair. I have found the appointment times and overall speed slow and ended up switching vets. All 3 of my visits I have had an appointment, check-in, and then sit in my car 20-30 minutes until my animal is taken inside. Then my animal is taken in back (all for either checkups/shots/no complex care) and wait. My shortest visit time was about 1 hour and 15 minutes, my longest took just over 2 hours. Really, it's not the biggest deal. If you are someone who is busy (like working from home) a previously 15 minute appointment I could squeeze during an hour lull between meetings isn't possible and it's hard to fit into the day. I live ~3 blocks away and at least 2 hours between meetings to fit a booster visit in, 3 hours to be safe.

The wait time from scheduled appointment to “admission” was about 10 minutes - not too long - and the shots, exam, trimming nails was completed in about 10 more minutes. Wonderful first experience! I found this clinic on Google while searching for a new pet doctor for my new kitty cats and I am so glad I decided to bring them here for their first visit and shots! Let's start by saying how happy I am because first and foremost I feel like they genuinely cared about my kittens well being. This is very important to me especially during these trying times with social distancing and "drop off" appointments! I need to know I'm leaving my pets in caring hands even if for just a few minutes. Although my kittens went for a routine check up and shots both the doctor and nurse took a good amount of time to talk about the visit with me, provide recommendations on diet and anything else I had questions about. I love that I did not feel rushed in anyway! They were both very thorough and I did not leave wishing I had the opportunity to ask more questions like I have many other places. I also want to talk about value. Everyone knows healthcare is not cheap - for humans or pets! I indicated good value because I did not feel as though they tried to recommend or push services that were not really needed. I appreciate an honest recommendation for what is truly needed and that is what I got from them. They also sent me home with food samples and a couple treats! Overall, this was one of the best experiences I've had with the many vets I've dealt with over the years for all of my different pets. If you're looking for a new veterinarian I would highly recommend Woodlake!

I brought my newly adopted rescue cat in for checkup knowing that he has health issues. Dr. Leverentz and the tech that treated Mac were amazing. They addressed all concerns and went through treatment options including recommendation for food to help minimize the allergens he produces as well as explaining the antibiotics he was prescribed. We recently went to this vet at the recommendation of our regular vet who is temporarily closed. Our dog needed annual exam and Rabies but is terrified of vets and very anxious around strangers so you can imagine how a new vet situation would go! I also had to bring my infant with me. All the vet techs and vet we saw were wonderful! Completely understanding and compassionate, and after following Covid guidelines were flexible enough to let me come in too (or no one was getting near my dog unfortunately). They even provided a squeaky toy to try and help my son (who is teething and didn't make a great first impression I'm sure!) stop crying. It didn't entirely work but I appreciate the attempt all the same. They provided treats and pets to help my dog calm enough to get exam and vaccine done. Great experience and would go back - 10/10!! Bonus we got a new squeaky toy out of it which my dog loves (she hates squeaky toys though so she's properly "fixed" it and now brings the toy with her everywhere 😆)

Recently moved to Richfield and steered to WVH for my feline needs. Staff are upbeat and friendly. The attending tech and doctor were the best. No nonsense about pushing maintenance packages. They only recommended what was prudent for what my criminals needed. They are very warm and friendly. They discussed the costs up front, and actually came in a little under what they estimated. This is a business in it for the long run, and are my feline felons go to for all there medical needs.

My dog cut himself on a barbed-wire fence on an out-of-state hunting trip, and Woodlake was the only vet who could see him quickly. (The country "cow vets" would not return my call, my regular vet was booked out 1.5 weeks, and I spent four hours waiting in a metro emergency vet parking lot but was never able to see a vet there.) In contrast, Woodlake bent over backwards to get me in, and again the next day when stitch repairs were needed. The staff was all so good-natured and the clinic atmosphere was so welcoming.

Very informative and helpful! Our dog, Henny, was in to get updated vaccines. He's an overly excited, big, and friendly German Shepherd mix who jumps for kisses, pulls, and gets vocal when people are not acknowledging him. Everyone was very kind, patient, and accommodating — giving him treats and distracting him cheese while examining. Our doctor was Dr. Megan Leverentz, and there were some vaccines that were suggested. We appreciated that it wasn't "sold" or pushed upon us to get them. Instead, the doctor explained them and why people get them based on lifestyle and environment. This allowed us to make the decision that it didn't make sense for us to get these additional shots for Henny.

Although I am not able to go into the clinic with my dog, Kiwi, due to COVID restrictions, the staff and vets there have been wonderful with communication. I recently had an appointment to talk with a vet about the anxiety my dog is dealing with. My dog was starting to hurt herself in the kennel with her separation anxiety, and I knew we needed to take some extra steps. In the past, people have told me to go with shock collars, pronged collars, among other fear related techniques. This did not feel right (nor did it work) but in turn I was scared to talk to another person that may give me the same advice. This was not the case here. Dr. Funfsinn was kind, understanding, and was able to find common ground with her own personal experience, and allow me to feel good about the decision I was making. She didn’t make my dog come up to the table, and instead when down to the ground in order to make her feel comfortable. The tech (sorry I don’t have your name!) that helped me beforehand was extremely helpful and understanding as well. Other people in the reviews have mentioned cost, but I will pay anything for my dog to feel good about her time at the vet to take care of her health, and I will pay the fair price for the expertise of these vets. Side note: I have been to 3 of the 4 vets at this clinic and have felt equally taken care of by all of them. I highly recommend if you take your pet’s health seriously!

Great service. Visited for the first time to get my new kitten vaccinated and they were able to accommodate an appointment for me when other vets were booked. Due to covid, they're doing drive up service where a vet tech comes to your car, you fill out paperwork, and they take your pet inside while you remain in the car. At the end of the visit, the vet calls you to provide an overview of the visit and answer any questions. The vet and tech were both friendly and helpful, and I appreciate not having to go inside a building with a bunch of other people. Great experience, I'll be returning.

My dog needed urgent care, they took her in immediately. The Vet called me and allowed me to pick treatment options. I did not feel pressured to do treatments I could not afford PLUS -- they didn't attempt to sell me a year long treatment package or try to convince me to buy dog food from their clinic. Great Covid safety practices in place. The Vet-Assistant came toy car and retrieved my dog and returned my dog toy car at the end of my appointment. Staff was kind and informative. When I called they MADE time for my dog to have surgery the same day even though they were busy, and they were extremely knowledgeable and kind. We brought Toby in the day after thanksgiving for what seemed like a pretty serious injury. Our dog was barely laying down he was in so much pain over Thanksgiving. I thought the worst (spinal damage, torn knee or ligament or something). We were treated with care, respect, and urgency. I am so impressed with their loving approach to care. They are very compassionate and listened to our concerns and explanations very carefully. The way we were asked questions was done in a very sensitive and loving way as well. The care for our dog was the same. Our rescue dog is not socialized as well as we would like, and he gets angry with strangers, especially ones that need to touch and feel him. In the same loving way, our Toby was treated with compassion and care. They genuinely understood his feelings and were very respectful and kind how they dealt with him. Our dog has received care from Dr. Leverentz a couple times, and Dr. Wendland as well. Their whole entire staff has been great, I wish I could remember names and name them all. So, it turned out okay, it was muscle strain/whiplash, that appeared (to us) to be something so much more critical. I am so very grateful for the care our dog, and we receive from Woodlake Veterinary Hospital. CHOOSE THEM WITH CONFIDENCE!

The vets here are amazing! I've been taking all four of my pets here for 15 years. The pets have gotten the best care here and have been healthier for each visit. Teeth cleaning and annual care is affordable with their Paw Plan for cats or dogs which makes small monthly charges so I avoid anylarge bills for health care maintenance. All the Vets recognize us and know our pets, it's wonderful.

Everything is nice, but expensive. Wellness visit and prescription med for ringworm $92 bucks. The other prescription was an additional $52 bucks when I know for a fact there are non-brand name alternatives for a fraction of that amount.

Great experience; staff was attentive and tuned in to my cat and got the tasks done creatively. This was our second visit and my cat (a pure bred R. Blue) seemed more relaxed and cooperative. Traci the Tech knew about Blues (a cat whisperer I think🙂😻) and that seemed to make things go well. Very pleased and confident about using this clinic!
