Dr. Kowitz is a great vet and our cat feels very comfortable with him. I like the fact that the clinic has a cat area and a dog area and they are on separate sides of the building . We don’t have to sit in the waiting room to wait while other dogs or people come in. We go right to the exam room and you can’t hear any dogs which helps to keep our cat calm. Our cat loves Dr. Kowitz.

I have taken my beloved guinea pig Lou to see Dr. Kowitz twice now. The women at the front desk are an absolute pleasure-so sweet and helpful! The first time, I was a nervous wreck! He was so good about explaining things in a way a layman like me could understand, and fixed her up like the professional he is. I have had Lou for 5 years and had never taken her to the vet. I am a lowly chef and don't have a lot of money, so I educated myself on how to properly care for a guinea pig. But when she got sick, I was so scared of losing her, that I didn't hesitate. When we met Dr. Kowitz, his kind and gentle demeanor put my mind at ease. One thing I respect about the doc, is that he has never said anything to me about the fact that she is older, or made me feel that she is any less deserved of her life than a regular pet, like a dog or cat. I love and adore my little girl, and he is determined to make her well whenever we visit him. We love Dr. Kowitz!

I’ve had surgeries, teeth cleaning, regular exams, and euthanasia experiences there. While it’s never fun losing a pet, they are very caring and understanding. We have two pups that we just had spayed. All went well, staff was good, pups are fine. My only comment on the whole ordeal is that instead of a proper sheet describing follow up care for them, we have “certificates of courage” like a little trophy of their surviving surgery. I would have much preferred written instructions and information on how to contact the staff in case of emergency. That’s all.

Very easy to make an appointment, either online or by call. Easy check in and very safe procedures to handle the variety of animals they see. She loves it because the staff and Vets are the best and know her by name when she walks through the door. they are always super friendly and treat our fur baby like it’s their own. I have a rat who needs his teeth trimmed regularly, and the folks at Lakeside have done a great job both times I have went. He is a particularly rambunctious rat, and they were able to trim his teeth without anesthesia which is not easy! They also treated one of my boys for an abscess and it healed beautifully, and they checked on a respiratory issue he was also having. A bit pricey, and they don't really specialize in small animals, but I have trouble getting in at Small Animal Hospital (their sister clinic) on short notice. Definitely will continue to go here for all my rattie's needs.

Our pup was experiencing severe bloody diarrhea after eating something he shouldn’t have while on a walk. The Vet was very supportive and reassuring that the medication would solve the problem along with a bland diet for a few days. We had our first visit with Dr. Judy at Lakeside for our old guy, Jack, a 12+ year old black lab mix. She was courteous and professional and asked us lots of questions. Jack is not a fan of going to the vet, but Dr. Judy worked her magic to get him to settle down so she could do a thorough exam and when she gave him his vaccinations, he didn't flinch or make a peep. She didn't try to push any extra services on us (our prior vet did this constantly). Also, we've had sticker shock at other vet clinics, but were pleasantly surprised to find our bill was under $200 (included full exam and three vaccinations). Highly recommend!

We had an appointment set for nearly a month at Noahs Ark, and got a call canceling because the vet said we weren't her client, even though we had been going to the clinic for years. We scrambled to find a vet that could see our dogs and was very happy with the ease in making an appointment, responsiveness via email in receiving our vet records, and overall experience at the appointment. We now feel like we have a clinic that cares about customer experience while providing expertise on the animal care. We plan to stay here long term.

Lakeside Animal Hospital is the best vet I have ever dealt with. My last dog had epilepsy which required multiple daily medications, regular testing, and lots of evaluations and discussions when his doses needed to be adjusted. Everyone I dealt with at Lakeside was kind, professional, and genuinely concerned with the well-being of my dog. I particularly need to mention Dr. Rice and Dr. Martinez who are not only fantastic doctors, but both of them are simply wonderful people. This is NOT one of those places where they rush you in and out to collect a check. More than once after my appointment, I got a call hours later or even a day or two later from the vet who couldn’t stop thinking about a strange symptom or unusual concern and took it upon themselves to do further research in their spare time, even calling the veterinary college in Madison. The dog I had before that had been badly abused in the past and was fear aggressive with men, but Dr. Rice knew just how to handle him so he would remain calm. I never had any doubt that my dogs were receiving the best care possible. However, that doesn’t mean that they just recommend you do every single test or treatment possible... The vets will explain to you the pros and cons as well as the cost, and let you decide without laying a big guilt trip on you to try to make more money like some vets do. I have recommended Lakeside to many friends who all were extremely pleased with the quality of the team there as well as the excellent care. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

I received an email notification that my dog was due for her annual check up and in that email was a link to schedule an appointment. I presumed it would take a least a week to get in, but to my surprise I got in that same day. Once I arrived I called to notify them we were here and they said to come on in. Upon entering I was greeted and told to go to door #1 which was open, clean and waiting for us! All staff that I interacted with was so professional, yet down to earth. I was not rushed not was I over charged for any of the service I received. Lakeside Animal Hospital provided comforting and flexible care to my dog, Walter, during the COVID-19 lockdown. Walter came for a curbside checkup, and he is often uneasy being greeted in cars. But the Lakeside staff was incredibly professional and calming. They had set up their parking lot and clinic to be safe for dogs and visitors and they took extra care to assist with the dogs. They are doing a wonderful job adapting to new restrictions and keeping dogs and patients safe, seemingly with ease.

This week my poor older dog was attacked by another (unleashed) dog when we were on a walk, Lakeside got him in right away and took excellent care of him. Our dog had an encounter with another dog and injured her eye. Lakeside got her in quickly and did not make us wait in the waiting room very long which was very nice since she was distressed. I was put completely at ease. This wasn't her regular vet, but she was treated with wonderful care.

Since I was a small child I have known Lakeside Animal Hospital to be a place I could depend on to provide each of my pets with compassionate and quality care while being fair with their charges to me. I have never once in over 50 years known of an instance with anyone in my family in which they were dissatisfied with any of the doctor’s and never have I felt that something was being done that may not be necessary. In fact, I can recall more than one instance when I was told something wasn’t needed, stating my money could be spent in other areas of my pets life that would be much more beneficial than a procedure or shot that the doctors and staff know to be unnecessary. I feel it is extremely refreshing to know that there still are individuals not pushing everything they possibly can sell others in a world where overall it seems that every which way we turn someone is attempting to sell us something, with some instances even being so blatantly dishonest as to suggest the purchase must be made in the next ten minutes to obtain a specific deal being offered. My present dog I love as my dearest friend and I would do absolutely anything if I knew it would amount to his life being happier and extended somehow when he begins to get older. It comforts me knowing that the people of Lakeside Animal Hospital will do everything in their power to provide both of the latter without trying to sell me a bill of goods that would amount to nothing truly helpful or offer me a bill of goods, absent of old world integrity.

When our guinea pig got a tumor, they were able to see him quickly, and give us great information to maintain his quality of life as long as possible. Once his quality of life worsened, they showed so much compassion at the time of euthanasia. From our conversation on the phone, to how they treated us in the office. They gave us time, reassured us of how well we had treated him. When we were ready to say good-bye, they treated him with so much care like he was their own. The most amazing thing was the handwritten note of condolence to us that they sent with personal messages.
