Reviews of Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester

While pet sitting my bosses cat I had to bring him to the ER. The staff I met was simply amazing. The whole building is extremely clean and there is absolutely NO "pet smell" anywhere. I ended up spending over 5 hours here due to the volume and a few more urgent walk ins. They have complimentary coffee/tea & water available.
At the end of the visit the vet himself came out and went over everything. If your in need of emergency services for an animal I highly recommend this place.

I went with a friend of mine to this location about a year ago when she had to put her cat Cleveland to rest. It was an above-average experience, leaving an impression on me. Monday, I had to put my lovely Lily to rest. She was my companion, such a sweet girl. I called the Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester without a second thought when my Lily started to "turn" I am still in shock and heartbroken at how quickly Lily has passed on. The all-around experience here is something I am so thankful for. I highly recommend this location if you are in need of an Emergency vet. The staff is compassionate and understanding, the atmosphere is relaxing and calm. Thank You for making this transition a little easier. I hope this review helps someone who needs to make a tough decision. <3

We had such a great experience here. Although the end result was us laying our sweet Della to rest, the staff was amazing from start to finish. They gave the best care, let us make our choices and then supported them and made our Della comfortable so we could give some last kisses and get some tail wags. Even the room we used to say our goodbyes felt comfortable and we got to bring our other dog to see her too. We need more of these people in this world ❤️ Pets make us better too.

I was here recently for an emergency for my 13 year old dog. We were there a very long time before he could be seen by the doc. This place is busy and they take the critical stuff first. All of the people I interacted with were pros and very helpful. I never felt pressured to do anything as they provided a couple of options. Once we were seen by the doc things moved quick. Ultimately I got to take my dog home which is a huge win at his age. These folks do a good job and the price was totally fair for services rendered. I'll definitely go back to them, even if I hope I don't have to. Solid folks, just have patience.

My dog Pixie had to come here yesterday because she ate something she wasn't supposed to and ended up sick. All of the staff, including the vets, vet techs, and front desk staff were amazing. We got regular updates and were given different options to work with. There's definitely a bit of a wait, but it makes sense because this is one of the only 24-hr emergency vet hospitals in the area, and it makes sense to treat the most serious cases first.
Everyone was so kind and patient with me, and very attentive to Pixie. She's back home now and feeling much better, thanks to the great care she received!

I took my little man Oliver in today because he was in some sort of pain. The ladies that were there today from beginning to end were wonderful. I was pretty upset due to not knowing what was wrong with him and the entire staff was so compassionate and made us feel so comfortable. They told me in the beginning that the wait was significant due to the weekend but the care my little dog received was worth it..and we waited a few hours! I would absolutely recommend because they truly care and it shows.

Brought my pup there for an emergency on a Saturday. I felt they were professional , knowledgeable and caring. The Vet even told me she didn’t think an X-ray was needed based on my pups condition. Which I’m sure saved me money. They did give me 3 medications which I thought was a fair price. And I didn’t think the actual price of the visit was to much. Just glad we have a place to go in an emergency.

I was referred here after our appointment with our regular vet. I wouldn’t have written a review but I got my cat’s pawprints in a sympathy card today with a heartfelt message and i felt like I felt gratitude all over again. I never thought of getting his prints.
We said goodbye to our valiant, protective and playful cat. I wanted to make it less awkward by not crying in front of staff but surrendered to tears. I had all the time I needed to grieve and that space gave room for my heart to be able to thank my boy before he left us. Dr Driscoll said the words I needed to hear. Emergencies are unexpected but the experience turned peaceful and meaningful.

This place and the staff is absolutely wonderful. We took our bulldog peach in late last night and they were all so sweet and very helpful and kind to my baby Peach. It is never fun to have to go to a place like this but it makes things much easier when the staff truly cares and loves your pets. I live about an hour away but if i ever need to seek emergency care for my pets i will definitely be chosing them.

We sadly had to put our crabby but sweet Jack Russell down. It happened rather suddenly (although he was 18). We wanted a mobile vet unit at first. There were not any available on such short notice. I had read some of the reviews on here so was not super impressed with Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester. Being a little desperate I gave them a call. (I actually called them three times) Everyone I talked to was so sweet and reassuring. We ended up taking Jack there. Couldn't have had a more loving experience saying goodbye to Jack. Everyone we had any contact with could not have been more sweet. I highly recommend them. I'm sure we will use them in the future.

I am overall very pleased with my experience at VECM. I brought my cat Luna in for an intestinal blockage which she ended up needing surgery for. When I arrived, I was at first irritated with how long they took to see us (4 hours.) But after spending more time in the hospital I learned that it was a good thing they took a while to see her because she was not deemed to be an immediate emergency. All of the staff was nothing but kind to us and they clearly did an excellent job on her surgery as it has only been 24 hours and she is already feeling so much better. Dr. Philip Hyde performed her surgery and when he called to let me know how it went he was so comforting and reassuring and made me feel so much better. We also found the nurse Molly to be exceptionally kind. This place is expensive, but when you look at the breakdown of the different expenses on the invoice, it is all very reasonable. Although I hope we never have to come back, we will definitely return here for any future veterinary emergency.

We brought our dog in about a month ago. Major emergency as she had passed away at the time. We were extremely perplexed due to the urgent matter, however the doctor and most of the staff were very sweet, sympathetic, and friendly. We know they did everything they could to try to save her. Paying for the loss of our dog was a little tricky and we just needed some time to figure it out.. but we were told we could not leave until we paid the full amount. Understandable.. but it was just a sensitive situation and hearing about getting an estimate and not being able to leave until you've paid from the front desk staff, it was just a bit trying. And how it was presented made it very uncomfortable.
We do appreciate what the staff did for our dog. The place was very clean and the situation was mostly handled well. Thank you.

I can’t even put into words how grateful we are for this emergency center! It was the best experience with a veterinarian we’ve ever had with our cat & the staff is all super sweet & you can tell they care about the animals as much as we do. The front desk answers the phone so quick & is very helpful & again so nice when we arrived. We had so many wonderful nurses, i wish i could remember the name of the first one we had who was amazing but Matt & Jennifer were both amazing & we LOVE Dr. Hird. She was amazing going over everything with us & we had her two night in a row (thursday night we left after giving cat fluids & nausea meds but after not working we brought him back friday) & we were so happy we did because she is so caring, knows her stuff, explains well & lets us know prices & multiple options before doing anything & overall is the most amazing Vet our cat Milo has ever seen. Ultimately our Milo did have to spend the night & they gave us a number to text or call while he stayed there. It was so helpful to get reassurance he was okay while there & even get a picture of him. They are super busy so sometimes the texts didn’t come very fast & the doctor from when Dr. Hird left took a long time to call us when we were getting his discharged & wanting to know how Milo was but was still super nice once he called. The animal hospital near us was a 17 hour wait but we got in there very quick so well worth the 40 minute drive. Building is super clean as well. The price was a lot for us since milo needed a lot of medical interventions but the prices are very reasonable & not nearly as much as other places. They also discuss all prices with you & do not push or judge any decision on you which was amazing. If i could rate it more than 5 stars i would. BEYOND amazing animal hospital!

The staff is absolutely amazing! They are such caring people. We unfortunately had to put our sweet boy down but I knew we were in the right place from the moment I called for information. This was the first of 20calls I made that day where they made me feel like they cared and were not just telling me to come in so they could make money. The moment I walked in I was greeted with a smile, the pet scale was in the floor so my guy had no problem standing on it, it wasn’t a scary step up like our normal vet. The techs triaged us within 10min of walking in and filling out paperwork. They were sweet and treated my old man like he was part of their family. When we got the news that it was internal bleeding the vet was so patient with all my questions and concerns. He answered them all compassionately and with no hesitation. After ultimately deciding that we had to put him down the staff did everything they could to make our families last hour or so together memorable. They gave us a private room to spend time with him, feed him special treats and just love on him. While we did the actual euthanasia the techs were wonderful enough to keep my three year old in the waiting room watching tv and making pictures so that we could put all of our attention into the last few minutes with our boy. It was the absolute hardest day of my life, but I have full faith that the staff made us fully aware of all of our options and supported us with the utmost respect and compassionate way. Thank you to the staff who made this horrible day feel better in a way that we were comfortable enough to just sit on the floor sobbing with our boy until we were ready to go. They explained all of our afterlife options and made me feel ok about leaving my boy with them.

This is my go-to when my cats get ill. My cat Spirit had a urinary blockage that I didn't know he had and needed emergency care. The whole staff from start to finish was a pleasure dealing with. They were all very upfront from the start and sympathetic with what we were going through and you can tell they're all animal lovers. I was able to call anytime and get a complete update from the nurses.
The wait was a little while but it is understandable especially with the shortage of vets nationwide. The waiting room is very spacious and comfortable.
I would trust any of my animals here.
Chris Miller
This is our only go-to emergency vet in town and that's a travesty. These folks are absolutely wonderful to work with. Period. The entire staff does a great job under immense pressure due to being the only game in town. Both of my cats received top-shelf care and I will always go there.

Warning, this is a long one:
We have only the utmost respect and highest regard for VECM. Our Casper and his congenital failing kidneys received top notch care from every staff member in the building. We were EXTREMELYYY impressed by the knowledge, expertise and all the consideration taken to Casper, being a Bengal, as very few vets fully understand the specific health needs of a Bengal nor recognize they aren’t just a regular house cat.
For all of those who are belly-aching about VECM’s cost and the wait times… you need to be understanding as a pet owner that pet care IS expensive. Period. Yes, the long wait times ARE inconvenient—but are quite justified in that they need to triage care appropriately, they hold themselves to high standards and there’s also a LOT that goes on behind the scenes that you couldn’t appreciate by being out in the waiting room.
Also, if you expect that during your pet’s stay they should receive proper and compassionate care like they deserve…. VECM most definitely delivers— and that too takes time!! I’m sure anyone out there (including myself) would prefer to wait a little bit longer versus having their own baby in dire straits and needing emergency services.
We never felt rushed by the staff, and especially not by the doctors who spent a generous, but necessary, amount of time answering every question thoroughly, explaining all we needed to know, and providing us with education that they ensured was understood—all while being loving and attentive to our Casper.
Their recommended procedures were fully explained of their rationale as well as the risks and benefits of, without judgment or ever making us feel like we were just being persuaded into spending money. I would much rather receive the care they provided (exceeding my VERY high expectations) than to feel like Casper was on a conveyor belt of care just to get him treated quickly and out of the building.
Cheap care isn’t quality and quality care isn’t cheap.
I also must say, especially being an acute care nurse myself… please do not abuse veterinary ERs for complaints of conjunctivitis or kennel cough or other NON-URGENT needs that your babies could have had treated by their regular vet. Yes, you will wait an extensive amount of time and pay for expensive care as you would at any ER… and this would be none other than your own fault, because YOU made that decision as soon as YOU checked your pet in.
People bring their vets here from far and wide and from out of state and when you come in for these non emergencies, you just add to the wait times.
Needless to say we are overjoyed and so grateful for everything VECM did for Casper AND for us. They are honest and trustworthy, and they make themselves accessible for inquiries and updates on all their admitted pets, which is huge and very reassuring.
If you can appreciate what I’ve explained in this review, you will find yourself nothing short of being satisfied… (and if you have the time to peruse through reviews before deciding where to be seen, trust me, it’s probably not an emergency.) VECM is Casper approved and we don’t hope to, but will definitely return if needed in the future.
Thank you VECM for all that you do!!

I brought my dog in after I noticed some unusual swelling from being neutered. The wait was long, but the staff was so kind and helpful and they took such good care of him. The price was reasonable and my dog is doing so much better! Thank you so much for taking such good care of my fur baby!

Leonidas, my 7 y/o German shepherd has an ear infection and unfortunately his primary vet is booked out until November. There was no way I was going to wait so I called several other vets. Come to find out they were all booked out that far out. I was told to try VECM, and I’m so glad that I did! They recommended I come in super early morning because it gets busy (understandably so) and we were taken care of within an hour or so! The staff was awesome, and Dr. Steve was fantastic! You could tell how much he loves animals. He was very knowledgeable and very kind! Leonidas was given the proper attention and medication and will be fine in no time.

Unfortunately we had to make the tough decision to put our dog of 15 years down. This clinic was more than understanding. They had a wonderful comfort room with dim lighting and ocean sounds. We were given as much time as needed and they prepared us on what to expect. It was honestly the most beautiful send off. For something so hard, they gave us so much comfort. They also made us feel everything they did was for animals needs vs money driven. I can’t say enough good things about this center and highly recommend.

This emergency vet is the best vet I have ever been to! I could not be more pleased with the care my girl Mia has received. We came in late night when she suddenly was having bad symptoms and they were truly so caring and helpful. The nurses are very attentive and genuine. All staff was extremely knowledgeable and actually let you voice your concerns and answer any questions you have without judgement. With their help we finally got a treatment for a very scary and unknown situation. I cannot thank them enough for taking care of my girl! Highly recommend!!

Thank you for helping my family say goodbye at the most hardest time of our lives. You gave us a beautiful room and all the time we needed. Thank you for being so compassionate in our time in need.

I can’t thank the vets here enough for what they did for my boy Zeus. While I am absolutely devastated at the diagnosis, I’m so thankful that they figured out what it was and gave me more time with him. After a mis-diagnosis of pneumonia at another vet and being told to “wait it out,” I listened to my gut and brought Zeus to VECM. Right away, they looked at his x-rays and believed it to be pulmonary edema, not pneumonia. They ran a test that confirmed the worst - heart failure. Without their swift action, Zeus probably would have died a slow, miserable death, suffocating in his own fluids. He stayed overnight in an oxygen tank with IV diuretics to drain his lungs. During this time, the vet techs were in constant contact with me via text message, giving me updates, promptly replying to all my annoying questions, and sending me pictures. When I went in to pick him up, the nurse sat with me answering all of my questions until I felt comfortable bringing him home. He will need to see a cardiologist and be on lifelong drugs, but at least I get some more time with my boy. I will cherish every moment. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Very caring team! I brought my cat Boots, who I have had since I was a teenager, in to the office a week or so ago. He was barely breathing. They took him in to triage immediately upon getting there. He unfortunately was passing, and my only request was that it be made as quick and painless as possible for him. Dr. Kevin did just that and was very calm, patient, and understanding with me (I was an absolute wreck) during the process. I was given as long as I needed to say goodbye to Boots in one of their private rooms as well. Also, I was sent a personally signed card by Dr. Kevin and Jordan expressing their condolences during this very difficult time.
The cremation office that they work with (Final Gift) is also fantastic, I wrote them a review as well.

The staff greeted us immediately upon arrival.
Everyone was super friendly, passionate, and respectful.
The care my daughter's dog received was top notch. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to any pet parent who would want the utmost love, care, and respect for their family member in their final moments. Big hugs to all the staff that helped us through this very difficult and heartwrenching decision.

This Emergency Vet clinic is well staffed, told us to come right down, and took us right in to an exam room when our dog herniated a disc and was unable to control her rear legs. The vet techs were all quick and efficient, and Dr. Erin Crowley provided great care and advice, explaining initial conservative treatment and possible need for surgical intervention. They did not charge us a price upfront before they evaluated the dog like other emergency clinics do, and the bill was itemized and very fair. I was happy to pay it. They faxed a visit summary to our regular vet so when I called in the am, they were fully up to date.
If we ever have another emergency, we will be heading back to Manchester. Thank you Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester for the work you do!

My baby girl, Zoe, 1.5 year old yellow lab got diagnosed with pneumonia on a Tuesday afternoon at my vet. We did X-rays and were put on antibiotics immediately. Friday we still didn’t see improvement. We hospitalized her at my vet for the day. She got a little better for the night, but Saturday morning while my vet was closed, she took a turn for the worse. Her breathing was elevated to the point of major concern for her well being. We called VECM right away, and they suggested we bring her in immediately. With in 5 minutes they saw Zoe. The doctor recommended her staying 2 nights, minimum. Shortly after we received a call from them stating she had one of the more severe cases they’ve seen and recommended more time. As heartbreaking as this was, this clinic was amazing. The communication and attention they gave to my dog was unreal. They treated her like their own. I can’t say enough great things about this clinic. Happy to report Zoe is now home after 5 days and is becoming her old self again. Long way to go, but without their help I don’t know where we would be. 10 out of 10 service we received. Thank you so much to the entire team that took care of Zoe 24 hours a day for 5 days.

I've been here twice for two different pets, and both times, they were thoughtful, efficient, and extra considerate with the care they provided. I've been to other 24 hour vet offices and this one by and far stands out as a good choice for my pets. They made every effort to make my pets comfortable during their visits and provided clear instructions for home care when needed. I highly recommend this office and will use them again any time the situation calls for it.

My only experience was very good. Just a phone consult but the person was very, very nice and listened. We induced vomiting as suggested and alas my dog didn’t swallow what I thought she may have which would have been uncharacteristic for her to do even as an older puppy. Phew! Thank you.
Jeffrey Spiewak
This was our saddest visit, as we had to see the breath from our beloved Mazzylou. They tried CPR to revive her however the cancer had taken it's toll on her and we had to let her go to doggy heaven. It has taken me this long to be able to voice my sorrowful heartbreak and I have to admit that depression has been beating me. I have her ashes and a beautiful urn, though I've yet to have the courage to open them.
Thank you VEC of Manchester for trying.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey j Spiewak.
This video I'm leaving shows Mazzylou carrying something home for me..
She was a pitbull, about 14 y.o when she passed and in this video she's 13, born December 2009.

On 12/26, our dog Willow decided to eat a stick which ended up lodged sideway across the upper part of her jaw. We brought her in around 2:15pm and were greeted by a nice group of ladies at the front. One brought Willow into a room to see if she could get it out, but Willow was being a bit difficult. She gave me instructions to sign up to register her in the system and wait for one of the doctors to be available. They were busy, but we only had to wait about an hour and we were once again greeted by a nice doctor who was able to get the stick out with ease. All in all, extremely friendly and caring staff. Kudos to all who helped us.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the whole staff at Vet Emergency Care. We lost our Pepper after 17 years. It broke my son and I into a million pieces, BUT every staff member from the minute we walked through the door, was so loving, knowledgeable, and caring. The costs were so reasonable, the treatment was beyond words. I can't thank them all enough for making this very sad time in our lives a little easier. We even received a heartfelt sympathy card with personal written notes from each staff member. So THANK YOU FOR CARING LIKE YOU DO.
Mallorie Bissonnette
I cannot say enough good things about them. The staff is wonderful, you can see as soon as you walk through the door that they really care. All of my dogs techs were amazing, they answered all my questions. My dog ended up needing to be admitted they inpatient line was so helpful around the clock care, they would call at 230am just to update me because they knew i woke up early. Someone was there alll the time. It helped a terrible situation. Also my dog got bettee way faster then they thought and they sent him home!
Nick Holmes
Kind, compassionate and fair. We had to take our senior dog in today because she was having some pretty significant neurological symptoms. The staff was great and took good care of us!
Olga Berish
Unfortunately we couldn’t make in time to bring our dog Roger. But everyone were so compassionate and understanding. Thank you guys, for a nice card. We are really appreciate your time and privacy you provided at the hospital for a last time we had our dog.

After calling 8 different vets in Southern NH and 1 other emergency vet and was turned away, Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester answered my phone call on the first ring. They offered an appointment through their outpatient ER within the hour. I brought my dog in and the staff was very friendly and nice. He had to have a small procedure that required sedation and we were in and out of their hospital in under an hour. They answered all of my questions throughly, treated my dog very nice and they even clipped his nails as a courtesy. Highly, highly recommend!!!

We came in over a long holiday weekend after our pup got porcupined in the dark. She had a dangerous cardiac rhythm coming out of anesthesia, had to be monitored overnight, and even had a cardiac evaluation over the holiday. Dr Driscoll, all of the techs, nurses, and staff were so professional and courteous, I was truly impressed. Even though I know they were really busy, they took care in answering all of our questions and making sure we were well informed every step of the way

My kitty was recently seen with a critical case (life threatening, prolonged seizure). He was taken in immediately and given medication to control the seizure. Everyone was so kind and prompt. We ended up being transferred out to another ER with a neurologist, but they at least got him to a stable state. I've seen many negative reviews related to wait times, which makes me so sad because they really have to care for the most life threatening situations first. Even with a critical case I ended up waiting a long time at the second ER because he was stable. Just like everywhere else, I'm sure there are staffing shortages, but Manchester VEC did a wonderful, caring job despite (what I'm sure are) very stressful situations. Thank you!

This place is amazing. Just this morning I put down my 22 year old kitty. Not only were we taken care of immediately upon arrival, the care and concern was tremendous. Dr Hyde couldn't have picked a better profession for his personality. I have had to have several pets euthanized in my lifetime and have never felt more comfort or compassion than with this visit. From the front desk, to the vet tech, to the Dr... everyone was great. Highly recommend!
Kayla Jayne
They took my pug puppy right in and resolved her main complaint immediately. Pricing wasn't ridiculous. They were kind and patient with me and my questions. I hope to never have to see them again, but it's good to know that I have access to 24 hour skilled professionals if we should ever have another emergency. Thank you for helping my baby.
Amanda Baker
I brought my baby Nala in twice because I was so scared that something had been wrong after being spayed. This staff i couldn’t thank enough they treated my pet with so much love and affection! I really wish it wasn’t an emergency vet because I’d love to take my two babies there regularly ahaha! So caring absolutely who I want handling my pets if they are struggling! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING US AND OUR PETS FEEL SO COMFORTABLE AND BEING SO QUICK TO CARE FOR THEM!
Nala thanks you!
Melissa Minuti
I can’t find words to truly express the gratitude I have for the VECM staff! Dr. Pascoe and his team were nothing short of amazing during my recent visit with my English bulldog after he suddenly collapsed. I was met at the door on my way in and without hesitation the medical team got to work on my boy while the team at the front desk did their best to calm my nerves while they checked me in. Even though situations like that feel like an eternity, I was quickly updated about his condition and ongoing diagnostics. Not long after, Dr. Pascoe reviewed the results with me, taking the time to explain (in laymen’s terms) what each result meant, the diagnosis, and course of treatment. I felt my nerves calming as he spoke and i literally had to stop the doctor at one point just to let him know how grateful I was to have such an amazing doctor taking care of my baby. Before heading home for the afternoon, I was able to spend some time with my little guy; the team was happy to update me each time I checked in and again allowed me to visit with him before I went to bed for the night. The turnaround in just one day was nothing short of miraculous!! I truly have never had so much confidence and trust in a medical team as I did with VECM! I knew without a doubt that my baby boy was in amazing hands, being cared for as if he were their own. He made some wonderful friends with his team of doctors and nurses, who even called to check on him after he came home. As I said earlier, there are no words that come close to expressing how thankful I am to each and every person on the VECM team. My Meaty bear is home and back to his healthy happy snuggly & lazy (haha) self because of you all & i am eternally grateful!!!

Can't say enough about how great they were. We had to unfortunately guide our 18 year old cat, George, over the Rainbow Bridge recently. They were so sympathetic and helpful during this tough time for our handsome old man.
Joleana Darland
Brought our 10 year old boxer in twice in the matter of 4 days. He was experiencing multiple seizures. The vet told us what to expect over the next day and was very helpful. Unfortunately a few days later we were back and he had to be placed under 24 hour watch while they started him on anti seizure meds. This was 2 months ago and our boys has been seizure free since our last visit! Thank you to the wonderful staff and doctors for your care for our boy and us as well.
Melanie Milliard
I have had to bring my papillon Jake to VECM twice, the first time for a seizure when he was seven years old. It was a terrifying experience for my mom and I, our baby being in distress and us not having any idea what to do or what was happening to him. We were seen promptly by both technician and doctor. The doctor, Dr. Kevin Pascoe, was calm as he assessed our pet, even sitting on the floor with me and my dog to explain what was happening and what we can do next. He was so kind, compassionate, and so very reassuring to my mom and I.
The second time was about one year ago when he was thirteen years old when his hip popped out of its socket. My mom and I were seen by Dr Chara Batchelder, who was very calm and collected as she explained what needed to be done to help get Jake well again to two very distraught owners.
The doctors and staff there do phenomenal work 24/7, encountering people on some truly horrible days. They don't get enough credit for what they do. I would recommend them any and every time for every and any kind of emergency or otherwise. So thankful for them!

We brought our Sadie in early in the morning as instructed and was told that we would be seen as soon as they were available. Waited only an 1 1/2 hours and when it was our turn we were greeted at the door by the nicest girl who could see Sadie was struggling. They were all so attentive, guided us through the entire process and made sure we understood absolutely everything!! Though we were not able to bring her home they made our experience so less stressful. They were kind, empathetic and didn’t rush this painful decision and our final moments were in a beautiful calming space.
In reading reviews with negative experiences I did not see any of it. Sorry but people just need to learn to be patient. I’m sure they are doing their best to take care of everyone that comes through their door.
Sandra Haynes
Our worst nightmare happened a few days ago to our beloved 2-yr old pup Piper. Dr. Phil and the staff at VECM did everything they could and their compassion and care was remarkable during this difficult ordeal. I wish we could thank each of them personally. While it was not the outcome we wanted, we are still very thankful for the fact that she was in the best place possible. Thank you for all you do day in and out to help the animals (and their humans) in their most difficult moments of life.
Melissa Price
My boy Oliver (English Springer Spaniel) was having an allergic reaction, the person on the phone was calm and gave me wonderful instructions. We got to the office and Oliver was taken right in ( no waiting at all). The medical assistant was very nice and told me everything that was happening with Oliver. Met with the Vet and she was very knowledgeable and made me feel at ease. We were sent home with specific instructions, the medical assistant was super patient with me. Overall great experience for a terrifying event.

I am not one to leave reviews but the start to finish experience here was fantastic. The staff from the front desk, vet, vet tech and check out were all incredibly kind and welcoming. Thankfully we were only there for an allergic reaction so treatment was simple and minimal but I also felt like our bill at the end was very reasonable and less than I was expecting for an emergency vet which was a welcomed surprise. I would absolutely bring my dog back here next time. Exceptional care.

I have been to VECM with two different cats over the years. Our first cat was brought in several years ago and even though she couldn't be saved they made her very comfortable and helped with the passing of our beloved Pixie. Recently, I had to bring in my cat Sanibel for an unknown issue. She had already been to another vet and ER in Massachusetts. VECM staff from Liz to Dr. Phillip Hyde and all the others who assisted were absolutely wonderful. They were so caring, thorough, and top notch customer service. The staff makes you feel like they are caring for their own pet. I will never go anywhere else. Please keep up the great care and customer service!

This place is fantastic. My daughter was going to college and was coming home for winter break. Before my daughter came home, I had to take our dog, Lucy, here for seizures, and she was diagnosed and given her medicine to stop the attacks. The daughter had the time of her life with Lucy, and We got a couple of months being with "Lucy" before we had to take her back to here and put her down.
The staff is terrific, and they care about the family, including our pet Lucy.

My dog was feeling unwell and her vet was closed so they recommended taking her here. We originally took her to an emergency vet closer to home, but were told they wouldn't be able to see her that night after a 6 hour wait. I called VECM the following morning and they were extremely pleasant and helpful. When we arrived they took our dog within 15 minutes. The entire staff was friendly and considerate. They kept me updated on what was going on while they had her out back and told me what the cost of each test would be before running the tests on her. Her discharge instructions were also explained to me in detail. I would recommend VECM to anyone with a pet who needs urgent care, they were amazing!

We were on vacation 2 weeks ago and got a call from boarding facility that my dog was a little lethargic. An hour later we were in the middle of the ocean and told to come get him immediately. Thank god for my dog walker bringing him there and all the staff at this wonderful place who saved our dog Scruffys life. They were so caring, kept us informed the whole time he was there for 3 nights. If they hadn’t taken such good care of him he would not have made it. Due to the severity of his pneumonia and multiple dogs admitted there at the same time they released him as soon as they thought he was safe to go home. He is still recovering but definitely so much better. Thank you for saving our boy, we are so forever greatfull.

They took good care of our sick puppy. Some of the staff seemed super burnt out. The nurse Meaghan was super amazing! The biggest downside was the excruciating long wait. We were here from 11am-730pm. Even when we made it into the office room we still waited over an hour to be seen. However, they are very upfront with the wait times as they are understaffed and they see the most critical pets first. Be prepared to spend the entire day.

I want to thank Dr. Hyde and the nurse who helped control the serious hemorrhage that occurred on October 6, 2022 to our 13 years old mixed breed Laci. A very difficult situation that was well addressed. No further bleeding 🤞 …

We brought our cat here, who unfortunately had very unexpectedly passed away and the staff couldn't have been more kind. You could tell they genuinely care about animals.

After being turned down in Nashua for 890$ we DID not have we took our kitty to this place and not only was the waiting room big and clean, The staff was VERY understanding and kind. The nurses were kind and treated our kitty with the best care. The doctor was very friendly and sounded like he loved his job and has so much love and respect for animals. I felt like I was getting the best care for my cat. They work with your budget and do NOT turn you away.
I came home knowing my cat was in good hands and will have a speedy recovery due to the kindness this place gave us today. 10/10 Will come back here as top priority if needed in the future.
Thank you staff, nurses and doctors!

I came home to a limping cat, and quickly called the Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester. The woman on the phone walked me through some quick criteria, and while I was welcomed to come in, was advised it could probably wait until the next morning (especially with very long wait times at that particular moment). When we woke up the next morning the leg seemed to have gotten worse, so we headed in. We were seen relatively quickly, and truly I have never met a more compassionate and thorough veterinarian. Dr. Kevin is an excellent vet, clearly cares deeply about his patients, and took me through a step-by-step explanation of my cat's (also Kevin!) injury. The tech who walked me through discharge instructions was very clear, and overall the visit cost much less than I was anticipating for emergency services. I cannot recommend this facility enough!
Melinda Ziegenhagen
Received excellent compassionate care for our Bodhi boy. Everyone was very patient, kind and knowledgeable. We were seen in a timely manner (even though it was a very busy day at the ER). Highly recommend VECM NH. Thank you VECM NH.

We were immediately greeted when we arrived by a friendly, caring, capable person. And then triaged right away. We were kept abreast of the process of treating our cat. Yes, we were there for a few hours, but in a clean, caring, organized, respectful environment. And most importantly, he was in good hands! Dr. Hyde discussed his care with us, was a good listener, and easy to talk to and understand. I wish the "People ER" functioned at this level! Thank you all!
Aurore Eaton
The vets and technicians took excellent care of our cat who was suffering from seizures and other health problems. We were able to bring her home and enjoy several more weeks with her before she became too ill. When it was time to make the big decision, the vet who examined our cat was very kind and understanding, and provided us with the information we needed. The procedure to say goodbye to our kitty was handled so beautifully with kindness and care for our kitty and for us. We are grateful to everyone involved, including the administrative staff.

I truly do not have enough words to cover how eternally grateful I am for this place. We have a diabetic cat, he keeps us on our toes. In the middle of a sky rocketing insulin high, when our own vet couldn’t make time for us. Dr. Crowley treated our boy for everything he was showing her. Her care plan was direct, and she was confident. When we got to the ER our boy was in renal failure with his kidney levels. 2 days later with a care plan made just for him and we have seen an amazing turn around. We will laugh, cry, and be eternally thankful for quick acting, intelligent, and empathic Dr. Erin Crowley. If you love what your do your career isn’t work, Dr. Crowley’s got it figured out. A million times thank you! -Willies big sister❤️
I would also like to add, with a care plan made just for us. This vet is very reasonably priced. The overall cost is higher than a normal vet, but please look at your invoice break down. EVERYTHING, is reasonable.

We came in with our cane corso because we were concerned with what was happening with his surgery incision. Although we had to wait a little while, as expected from any type of ER visit, we left with a huge weight off our shoulders. They talked us through everything, thoroughly checked the incision several times, and sent us home with some meds. The assurance that our boy was going to be ok was such a relief. The staff being so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable really helped us stay calm during moments of uncertainty. I can’t thank the staff enough. We really appreciate you!

Our senior cat Olivia became sick Sunday night. She had been treated here and was home ,hopefully getting better. When we brought her in Sunday night, everyone was amazing. They explained what was wrong, the treatment plan and gave us options.
Sadly by today (Tues) she was not responding as they had hoped she would and we made that very hard decision to let her go over the rainbow bridge and run free. The people here were fantastic. There are no words to express how wonderful the Dr.was. They were extremely busy but the Dr. took his time with us and was gentle with Olivia. I will be forever grateful and appreciative for their kindness.
Debbie Roy
I wanted to thank the staff for being so gentle and sweet to my baby girl Bella who was seen early this morning. Her health was declining and we had to make the toughest decision we would have to make today. They explained the whole process of End of Life Care and we never felt rushed for our decision. And thank you for being patient with me when I was not able to speak!
You all were wonderful to us

Efficient, compassionate, transparent. It was too late to help my fur baby but the doctor very empathetically laid out the options and gave me the time and space to make the painful decision.

My almost 15 y/o cat was diagnosed with kidney disease a few months ago. On Wednesday he was showing worsening symtoms and needed to be seen immediately. I brought him to Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester where we were seen by Dr. Christina Winn. Unfortunately my cat didn't make it, but the care and concern provided by Dr. Winn and staff was incredible. Yes, there is a wait. It is like going to a human ER. I would not hesitate to go there again should the opportunity arise. They are good people.
Danette Labrecque
This was my second visit to the Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester, and I could not have had a better experience either time. I brought in one of my Boston terriers last night after she got in to a fight with her larger brother that left her with some bites that required suturing. Of course I was already stressed out seeing my little girl in distress, on top of feeling like an awful parent for allowing it to happen.... but Dr Tiffany Major completely set me at ease. In fact the entire staff was incredibly empathetic and seemed genuinely concerned for not only my Sophie but also the other 4 or 5 dogs that came through while we were there. Considering the extent of her injuries and the fact that she needed to be sedated to be sutured, I was very impressed to only be there for a few hours. I was also surprised at how reasonable the bill seemed considering all that she required. I can't recommend or thank the wonderful staff at the Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester enough!

We recently had to let our very senior husky go and while I wish I could have met their staff under better conditions, everyone we interacted with was wonderful. From the woman who answered the phone and helped me through questions in between sobbing to the staff that directed us into a welcoming and comfortable room to say goodbye to our boy peacefully and the staff who helped in the final moments, the entire experience was more than I ever could have asked for.

We recently lost our 11 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Gatsby. When he was failing we brought him to Manchester Veterinary Emergency Center. We went early in yet morning (1am) and had to wait an incredibly long time (until about 4) before being seen because he was deemed to be stable enough to wait and there were several emergencies before us. The young woman working that night was a bit brash initially (all business in a situation that’s highly emotional for owners) but eventually warmed up. It was clear she was serious about her job and for that I am grateful.
After they took him back he stayed overnight. I will say, when I saw the doctor he was so wonderful, warm, and kind. He made me feel as though Gatsby was in great hands. He informed me his colleague taking over during the following day of Gatsby’s stay would be in touch and spoke very highly of him. When the vet the next day called and gave us the news about Gatsby (which was a diagnosis that it was time to say goodbye) he was incredibly kind, intelligent, caring, and empathetic. He spent a great deal of time on the phone with my husband and I and just couldn’t have been more wonderful. He helped us come to a decision to bring Gatsby home temporarily (medicated and comfortable) before we were able to have a service come out that week at our home to let him go in the comfort of his own home. It’s such a heartbreaking process but the doctors and staff at Manchester Veterinary Emergency Hospital were wonderful and we would highly recommend them. 💛

I had to put down my elderly dog of 14 years. They were extremely passionate and sympathetic to the event. They even sent a card days later. They see a large number of people walking in for different reasons. I appreciate how professional, respectful and responsive they were. Highly recommended!
Elise Lewis
We were seen twice yesterday for our 9month old pup who was not feeling well. The facility is nice, the waits were a bit long but during that time I saw two dogs come in with respiratory / unresponsive episodes (treat them first we can wait! 😊) The waiting area is comfortable and the staff from reception to the vet were super friendly and kind to me and our pup.
Huge huge shout out to Dr Driscoll, Meaghan and Amber who took the time to listen to our pup’s saga and my concerns. We ended up being transferred to CAVES after some concerning radiographs. Dr Driscoll has the best bedside manner and is super thorough! Thank you for listening to this overly concerned dog owner and being so kind.
Keri Brewin
The staff here is absolutely incredible. I have never come across such friendly, kind, empathetic, and supportive people. I HIGHLY recommend bringing your pet here if you ever need to. They stay in touch with you, they have a number you can text even in the middle of the night to check on your pet. They sent us pictures! If you ever find yourself in need of an emergency vet visit, go here!

I can not say enough about the doctor's and staff at VECM. They saved our dog's life!!!! We brought our boy, Remo there one morning with what we thought to be a cough and heavy breathing due to an infection but it turns out he was in respiratory distress as a result of heart failure. They brought him in right away and began diagnosing the situation and contacted us soon after with their plan for treatment and the cost. Although it was expensive, we said to do what it takes to get our boy healthy and back home. The next morning we called to see how things were and we were so happy to hear that Remo did great overnight and was even eating! I was so happy I started crying. They said that they would start him on oral medication to see how he responds and to call later that day. By noon Remo was on his way home!!!! They even refunded almost $100 because the original quote they gave us ended up being more than what the actual cost turned out to be. When we brought him there we were told that he was "very sick" and by the next day he was well enough to come home!!! I am so grateful for the staff at VECM. They were all so gracious and professional and compassionate. They have also been extremely helpful with answering any questions we have after Remo has come home. Calls are answered quickly and call backs are prompt. They are absolute angels! Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!!! We are happy to report that Remo is doing great!

We brought our dog in with no warning and they took her in on a gurney immediately although very busy there. They tried to help her. We where brought into a private room and she passed with us shortly after. They made the process calming for my elderly parents and set up cremation etc for my Parents to keep her. I would highly recommend them!
Maria Hannemann
I can’t say enough about the experience my daughter and I had last night. Everyone was professional, compassionate and on top of their game. Sadly, my grand dog had an issue that couldn’t be resolved but Dr Erin was amazing and her team as well.
Karina Allayne
I was disappointed in their lack of communication and with the amount of time it took for them to do everything. I was here for more than four hours for a simple exam and an x-ray. I have been to other emergency vets where they have been wonderful giving you a complete print out of every single thing that they are going to do and the cost of each said item BEFORE doing anything, And in a timely manner. This hospital never did that and there are a couple things that they did that I would’ve said no to had I known that they were going to do it. Very disappointed and I will not be going here again
brenda jones
Wish they had more than one doctor on staff / or maybe have appts for those of us waiting at night in our cars all night to be seen that r not emergencies ...seems management is messed up in those areas ...and for the price they charge to walk in the door $160....other than that the staff are wonderful and facility is beautiful...

The Staff at VEC is a caring and supportive group. I recently had to put down one of my cats, Milton and the entire staff was very supportive and empathic with our situation. For people that help sick animals all day, you can tell they care about everyone they treat as if it was their own. I wouldn't go to any other ER. Thank you VEC and your entire staff. ❤️
Michelle MacDonald
I've received excellent care here over the past 2 years. I've now had all 3 of my dogs seen. 3 for 3 would get a 5 star rating! They were able to quickly assess my girl yesterday afternoon. I was in and out in under 30 minutes. The technician Amber was very nice and took the time to explain everything to me. Nice job everyone!

As someone who couldn’t spend more than $500 on a sudden pet emergency, this place was very very kind. They worked with us and only took on what they thought would be absolutely essential to helping our baby out. (Specific bloodwork, examination and treatment). This took our bill down SIGNIFICANTLY. While the wait time was very long (it’s an emergency room. It’s what happens. They were treating many pets.) , the staff were so kind spoken, very helpful and informative and very open to working with our concerns in terms of our pet’s health. They had a coffee station, a clean BIG waiting room we could stay in that was very comfortable and away from other pets who were coming in. Our doctor was very patient and you could tell that he and the staff loved what they do. We will hopefully not be back but if we need to we know we can rely on them to keep our babies safe.
Gina Pilla
I have gone to them when they were in a previous location. Always had the best care for all of my pets.
1st time here was when we had to put down my dog late at night (she was in her old age and was not holding down food or water). 2nd time was because of a porcupine incident(mom's dog decided to have some fun with a porcupine and had quilt all around his muzzle and bleeding profusely)
3rd time to help my dog pass(same dog for the porcupine incident in his old age)
4th time was because my cat had a seizure and had to let her go. She was so young but had health problems.
5th time was my mom's dog who slipped and fell on ice same dog on the 6th time who injured her leg again playing with my dog(she is still with us and in her senior years)
7th time with my dog who got into a whole sheet of cake during the day, I monitored him and at night and had to take him in. He is perfectly fine since then, still with us and is 4years old.
Always had been an emergency clinic and always super helpful and always been respectful. Each time I have gone their with my pets they have been wonderful. Sometimes the wait can be long, other times it was an in and out (cases listed above is kind of obvious). I will ALWAYS have trust in them helping me care for my animals. I am so thankful that they were open late at night for my cat (4th time) and for my dog (7th time).
The reason how I remember these times I was there is because it is always so scary taking your pets to a vet in a crisis, but for how my pets where cared for and how passionate they are in helping animals, they handled it professionally and quickly. Each time, they have been wonderful, and always handled with care.
Carly Mosnicka
Today was my second experience with VECM and they were terrific. They were able to see my dog immediately. I was at ease the whole time because of how thorough the VECM team was. They went over pricing and talked me through the exams they would be performing, they gave me accurate time frames regarding the exam and treatment (how long I was actually going to be sitting in the lobby). There was complementary coffee in the lobby and a TV with (great) movies playing. They also wrote a personal note on my discharge paperwork that was so kind. Thank you VECM team for helping my Harley, you are fabulous!!
Carrie Puchta
My dog had a minor accident this morning which wasn’t life threatening, but needed attention. From start to finish, every one of the staff members I interacted with were kind and helpful and efficient, in particular Jennifer in triage and Stephanie in reception. We waited a while, but there were plenty of other much more emergent cases that rightfully were given priority. If I am ever unlucky enough to have the pet who is rushed straight back, I’m glad that this hospital will be there for us.
Marilyn Sinsabaugh
Had to take my cat here last night. He was yelping and in a lot of pain. It was like a whole building full of Betty White's! Everyone was so sweet and kind. The vet and technicians were very informative. My Sammy is doing great and I am so thankful for such a good experience even during a stressful time.

I keep meaning to write a review for this place, and having had to call tonight has reminded me to do so.
In late April my family's 16 year old chihuahua was nearing her time to go to the rainbow bridge. She was fully blind, but still had an appetite and enjoyed being taken for walks (in a doggy stroller), so we were just taking it one day at a time.
Lily (pup's name) had developed COPD in the last few years of her life, and this particular condition was worsening the older she got. One night at around 2:30AM I heard her struggling to breath. It was absolutely THE most heartbreaking sound I've ever heard. My mom and I called this emergency vet, knowing that the time had come to make this difficult decision. Every single person we spoke with and encountered here was so incredibly compassionate, patient, and capable. When we arrived they had us call and I brought Lily up so they could get her started on an IV.
They let my mom and I sit in this little screened in porch area while we waited for Lily to be brought in to us. The vet tech brought Lily in and she was all bundled up in warm, comfy blankets. The vet explained everything to us and Lily was able to pass peacefully. They told us we could call whenever was convenient the next day to come pick her up (our regular vet did the cremation). They did a lovely paw print and sent a very thoughtful condolence card.
I cannot even express how grateful I am to the staff.
Tonight, I noticed my senior cat seems to have some sort of toothache. I called here to see if I should bring him in or wait until my vet opens at 8AM (it's currently 2AM). The woman I spoke with was incredibly patient and understanding and answered all my questions.
This has to be SUCH a difficult business to be in, and I cannot thank the staff enough for being there for my pets when I've needed them.
Toria Ainsworth
The staff here have been absolutely amazing in caring for my kitty. He had a two night stay that ended up with him needing surgery. The staff was informative and caring throughout the whole process, answering my questions thoroughly and sending me pictures and updates on my boy. He's finally home as of last night and they gave me detailed care instructions and have thoroughly addressed any questions I've had since bringing him home. I cannot thank them enough.
Dawn Hughes
I absolutely LOVE the staff here. That are so friendly and caring. I had to put my lab down back in March. Such a sad event to deal with, but they made it so much easier to handle. They were so kind and caring about a dog they had just met. Now we're here for another furry friend due to some respiratory issues she's having and her normal vet isn't open at the moment. They definitely know what they're doing here and are very trustworthy. I would highly recommend this place for any of your furry friends needs.
Greg Sifferlen
Remarkable staff and doctors. At a very difficult time when our puppy was at end of days, they were incredibly compassionate and caring to us and our pup. They made us very comfortable in a warm room with couches and rugs that made us feel like home. Not an experience anyone wants to have...but they made it tolerable.

My dog Bronx had a swollen rear paw, raw and a little bloody in the pad area, and couldn’t put wait on it. He was crying a lot, and I was concerned.
I went to the Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester with my concerns. First and foremost, they were absolutely fantastic. They were very accommodating, polite, fast, and helpful. It wasn’t too busy, but I don’t even think I waited 5 minutes to be seen. The vet tech was wonderful and professional. She took her time and transcribed my concerns to the tee. The veterinarian was just as wonderful and professional, and she was very fast at providing me with a solution plan to help aid my lovable lump Bronx. The ladies at the front desk were so helpful, sweet, and courteous. They ensured everyone was comfortable and snacks were provided to this that were waiting.
I recommend if your precious pet needs some immediate assistance, the Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester is truly a fantastic place to bring them, as it will provide you with peace of mind that your furry family member is being treated so courteously and professionally.
Thank you to the Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester for taking care of my good boy.
Carina Kelly
The staff was nothing but caring and compassionate with us and our dog, Brewster. From making sure he was pain free and comfortable, through the process of his having to say good bye to him. I would highly recommend them.

I had to bring my Wheaten Willow in for a foreign body surgery last night (New Years Eve) I called a few hours before my arrival and when I did arrive, Willow was able to been seen right away, x-rays taken, and surgery scheduled. I received a call as I was told I would when her surgery was completed. She is home with me again resting comfortably. I am so grateful to everyone at VECM. Thank you for taking great care of my heart!

A few months ago, our 5 year old Lab attempted to eat his weight in kibble, which we did not discover until a few hours later when we saw that he looked like he was 9 months pregnant. Knowing that he was at high risk for bloat, we called VECMNH & they told us to bring him right in. As soon as we rolled into the parking lot, a tech came out to get him. Another person talked me through the admission process while we waited in the parking lot. He ended up needing to stay there for about 24 hours. At all times, we were kept informed of his status and we felt so relieved that he was in the hands of these compassionate professionals. We were grateful beyond words that he had a good outcome and that they were there for us in our time of need. Covid made their work so much more challenging but they have made the absolute best of it. We are so lucky to have them.
Jennifer Lane
Knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. The tech on the phone was great and got feedback from the vet while I was on the line. They gave me easy to follow instructions to try at home, with guidelines and a set timeline to know if an on-site visit would be needed. They saved both my dog and I from an even more stressful night. These folks are the best in the area to turn to when things don't go as planned.

My pup Callie went into labor and unfortunately had to have an emergency c-section. We brought her to VECM and they took such good care of her! They were so patient and called me every hour to give me updates! I definitely recommend them. Thank you Dr. Crowley and her team for delivering 4 healthy puppies!
Kirsten Knaebel
I cannot say enough about the professional manner that they cared for both my dog and myself. They made me feel so comfortable and safe about having to make the decision to allow my companion of 14 years to cross the rainbow bridge. Thank you
Laura Kazlauskas
My fiance and I were on a camping trip, and our dog got a fish hook to the eyelid. Being from out of state, we were recommended here since the non-emergency vets in the area wouldn't accept new clients. They kindly offered to take our dog, and they brought her in right away when we arrived. The procedure was done extremely quickly and at a very reasonable price. Our pup is good as new and you can't even tell she had an injury on her face!

We went to this facility because it was recommended as an emergency vet by our regular vet. Due to COVID they triage you on the phone from your car then come get your pet. Our 9 week old kitten was failing to thrive. Not eating not drinking no litter box action. Dr Hyde and his team were amazing! They took great care of her and gave us a few suggestions for her continued care. Dr Hyde came out and gave us a full report on her vitals and current health. They were thorough and compassionate. Our little one is doing well and I credit their expertise. I would highly recommend them if you are in the unfortunate situation of caring for a sick pet.

My very large dog got some very aggressive tumors on his spleen. It was horrific and completely in expected. It happened so fast. We had to put him down. Horrible. The staff was so understanding, patient and gave me some needed hugs. I had him cremated. I didn’t really want to pick up his remains. Too sad. Finally picked him up, several months later. The staff was wonderful, and gave me much needed hugs again. Still so sad, but his remains are in a beautiful box, with his name & date on the bottom. Made me feel better that they treated his remains so well.
Thanks again to everyone who helped me& my son deal with an unexpected horrible day.
We will always be great full

I have a super anxious dog, especially if I am away from her. But she was so sick and needed to be seen. From Jennifer (triage tech) to Dr. Robinson, to Shayne, my best friend had the best care I could have asked for! They kept me up to date on everything that was happening, were extremely thorough and very understanding of my concerns! She is now feeling so much better! Would recommend 100%!
Sam
The staff here is great and you can tell that not only are they extremely knowledgeable but they are very compassionate as well. I have brought my puppy to VECM twice in the past 6 months when our regular vet was not open and both times we received excellent care. Yes, the wait is long, but that is because they see critical cases first. I highly recommend them and so does my dogs primary vet. My Dixie Girl loved them too!
Paul Rondeau
We recently had to say goodbye to our beloved boxer Forrest and the entire staff at the clinic showed so much care and compassion during the process. Although it's never easy to say goodbye to a special pet, the staff helped make the experience one of caring, compassion and dignity. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you.
Bill
I brought my old dog Murphy to this Emergency Vet Center to have him put to sleep. He was 18 years old and struggling with several age related maladies. I was taken aback by the compassion and sensitivity that I was greeted with. I was brought to a quiet room where the vet joined me and my pup. Dr Hyde was very kind and understanding. He helped Murphy out of his suffering gently and quietly. Thank you Dr Hyde. You made a very difficult experience a lot easier
Phyllis Buccheri
I gave it a 4 stars only cause the wait time was so long but I also understand why it was so long. Anyways my cat sharpie is good he getting meds and he don't have nothing blocked so that's very good. I'm so happy It was worth the wait to here the good news. He has a UTI but it is treatable with meds. Yay

Last night we took our 10 week old Doberman puppy here because she was having extreme trouble urinating. Within just a little bit she was inside with the staff and being taken care of. The staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional. It’s hard not being able to go inside with them, especially since she’s such a baby, but we have no doubts at all that she was in amazing hands. In fact, as we were pulling away she was watching the building out the window! As a first time puppy owner, it’s nerve wracking when anything abnormal happens with your pup, but we were extremely comfortable and confident that she would be okay under their care.

immediate vacation-day admission for our 15-yr old cat; immediate diagnosis and treatment; cat succumbed the next morning quite abruptly; no symptoms were missed by staff
We were sent a complete log of our cat's treatment history via our local vet and it was clear that staff was attentive and tried appropriate measures when cat went into distress.
Staff was patient and gracious in communications with us.
Overall, a heartbreaking outcome but some comfort from clear evidence that our cat was treated very well by staff.
Judy Pancoast
We brought our 16 year old Jack Russell Terrier to them late on a Saturday night and she was literally at death’s door from congestive heart failure. It was complicated by the COVID 19 protocols, so we couldn’t even go in with her. But a kind and sweet nurse came out and got her, a wonderful doctor named Josh called and told us our options, and we decided to try life-saving measures. The entire time she was there I called every few hours and the nurses were unfailingly caring, professional and patient and it was clear that they really cared about our pet. They made the whole experience so much easier. After about 43 hours of care our dog came out of there with a new lease on life. I can’t thank them enough. They were wonderful through the entire ordeal

We brought our Mia here for a second opinion after seeing her primary Vet.
The staff was amazing, explained everything and welcomed us warmly.
We helped Mia cross the 🌈 bridge at their center. The staff cried and showed us compassion, sympathy and love.
We had a traumatic loss and the staff made us feel cared about.
Thank you to the entire staff for your support during a difficult time.

Late to post but they saved my dogs life back in early December- he came in neurological and his blood levels had dropped extremely low. They were able to do a blood transfusion and kept me updated during all of his testing and screenings. Unfortunately we weren't able to get a diagnosis for what happened, even with followup care at my regular vet but they managed to stabilize him in critical condition and he's doing so much better now!

We have always used this business when our primary vet is not open. We have always had nothing but great experiences and they have always treated our dogs as like they were members of their own family.
Our latest trip in was 3/26/20 at 2:15am. Our healthy six year old Boston Terrier had a seizure and scared the heck out of us. They were so responsive and caring. Even during these crazy times they were so welcoming and spent all the time we needed going over our dogs health.
I will always recommend this facility to anyone who loves their pets. They will show them the love they deserve.

I took my senior cat, knowing I was going to have to let him go. I have never been there before, but I am so glad that's where we ended up. The entire staff was so kind and respectful from the initial phone call until the very end. We were in a private, non-clinical room, (more like a living room) which calmed my little guy as well as me.

This was the second time we have used this center for our dog Panzer. Unfortunately after a strenuous attempt at getting him better, he did not make it this time. I know they did everything they could for him. Even during their rush hours we were always accommodated and got all their attention when needed. They made sure he was comfortable and we weren't rushed when we had to make the unfortunate decision.
We will continue to use this emergency vet if we ever need to and I HIGHLY recommend you take your animals there in times of need. The staff, vets and techs are all incredible and were so thankful for all they did for our best friend. Phenomenal

This weekend marked the second time in 4 years we brought our retriever in with an intestinal obstruction. First time, they managed to get it to pass on its own non-invasively. This weekend was a more severe case. After trying to get it to pass on its own to no avail, the only option was surgery. They got backed up with a couple of critical cases , so ours was pushed off a few hours. On their own, the doc opted for one more X-ray prior to starting and called me to let me know that the obstruction moved. Surgery was put off, they continued hydration through the night, got her eating and we were on our way home where she passed the obstruction. These people are pros - and very caring. Front desk, nursing staff, techs and docs. Communication was exemplary when checking on her by phone and they allowed me to come down to walk her and spend time with her in a quiet room, no questions asked. Most of the negative reviews are based on emotion - it’s understandable as our beloved pets are huge parts of our lives - but this is an emergency center. They have to triage and if there’s a more critical case, you’re going to get bumped. Still far better than the local ER for bipeds. They also provided detailed estimate ranges before proceeding with anything and costs were very fair. If your furry family member is in real trouble and your regular vet is closed, this is the place you want to be at.

We had the unfortunate situation of an emergency visit here with our very sick 13 yr old Yellow Lab 5 days before Christmas close to midnight. I thought it was time but the doctors were amazing in exploring all options before it was time and patched her up to make it through the holidays with kids!
Unfortunately we had another emergency visit this past Friday, and it was time. The doctors were very passionate and cincere regarding our loss and even sent us a sympathy card which was very professional!
I will have them forever on speed dial if we ever need them again (hopefully not for a while) with our new 6 month old Yellow Lab puppy!
Pookie TheBear
The staff and doctors were absolutely wonderful when I had to bring in my cat to be put down. I was given a private room with a couch to spend time with him before the procedure. Everyone was extremely kind and compassionate and afterwards I was sent a beautiful sympathy card..

We cannot thank all of the staff at Veterinary Emergency Center Manchester enough. Our poor Koko has a bad infection in her uterus (because she was not fixed). They got her right in and did the surgery she needed. They were very helpful with all my calls to check in on her. I am very thankful for them and everything they did for our baby.
I would absolutely recommend them to my family and friends!

Needing an emergency vet is never in anyone’s daily plans for our fur babies. I found myself having to make the end of life decision for my 13 year old Boxer for me this was so devastating I can’t even express my distress. This ER had a room just for end of life so this devastating moment could be as unrushed and respectful as possible. The compassion from all staff made one of the hardest moments into a supportive decision of love for my baby girl. No judgment just support. The staff and environment helped me say good bye. Thank you.
Amanda Hale
We have had to bring our two pups to this provider on 3 separate occasions. Each time they have been compassionate, informative and timely. It isn’t the closest emergency center to our home but for the extra 5 minute drive we feel the most confident bringing them here! As a quick PSA- keep your dogs on a leash during spring evenings otherwise you’ll be visiting here annually for porcupine quill removal :)

Unfortunately, we had to put our lab of almost 14 years down. It was a horrible morning but this Emergency vet did an amazing job. They were fast, compassionate and gave us all the education we needed to make the right decisions for ourselves and our beloved pet.
Jason Kimmerer
We had an emergency visit this morning for our dog Charlie. Cindy and Dr. Anderson did an amazing job and made Charlie feel very comfortable while she was sick. The curbside service due to COVID was very convenient and they did an awesome job communicating throughout her visit. This was Charlie's second time there and both times they have done a great job during a stressful moment. We will definitely be back.

I called the Emergency Center on Christmas after the dog ate hydrangea leaves and we then realized they were toxic after the dog started vomiting. The clinic was quick in asking me the weight of the dog, I told them I was not sure how much she ate, and they quickly consulted the vet to advise me what to do. They saved me money as well because they decided based on current symptoms the dog did not need to be seen, but made sure I knew what signs to look for that would need me to bring her in or call back. Amazing service to get all the helpful information and expertise on how to care for my dog in a stressful time and what to watch out for without even having to go into the office. Thank you so much to the entire staff!! I would highly recommend you call them if you find yourself in a sticky situation with your pet!

My daughter had to bring her very sick cat in today. I accompanied her. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism shown from the front desk to the vet techs to the vet! All were extremely compassionate, and took their time to explain every procedure, what was necessary, and this was very important to us, as my daughter is a student, and financially this was a very big decision.
We left knowing her cat was in excellent care. We are very grateful to our vet, Dr. Kristin Zimmerman for referring us to this hospital!

I've had very positive experiences here with two of my cats who have had emergencies in 2020. Dr. Batchelder and the staff are very kind. The wait times are quite long, but they are following COVID protocols. While I don't particularly enjoy having to use emergency veterinary services, I am very satisfied with the service my pets have received here, and will use this hospital again for any emergencies in the future. Thank you for all you do!
Edited 03/08/21 - My cat was experiencing discomfort that needed urgent attention outside of our normal vet hours, so I brought her here. As always, she was treated promptly by the lovely staff. Thank you for taking care of Nessie! Our family appreciates everything this vet office has done for us over the years.

They saved my cat's life last year. Not much else to say! I'm very grateful I was able to find a place open around 10pm on a Sunday. I'd spent around $800 at my normal vet after various appointments and treatments to try to diagnose my male cat's urinary problem. They kept saying he didn't have crystals but he would strain to go like he was blocked and his urine was bloody. Took him in on a Friday when he was extremely distressed and crawling around leaving a bloody trail everywhere and they checked him over and said no blockage, bladder is empty, he's just uncomfortable. Sent me home again with pain meds. Sunday rolls around and he's completely unresponsive and trembling. We were seen immediately by Manchester Emergency. They didn't sugarcoat anything and had me sign a resuscitate agreement because his temp was at 92 and his bladder was rock hard. Thankfully they were able to flush everything out and keep him stable overnight. They documented EVERYTHING. It was nice to be able to read an hour by hour log of everything that happened. There was also a log entry simply stating "A sweet boy!" It's clear they know what they're doing and they care about the animals.

Absolutely amazing staff very kind and caring I called ahead to let them know I was rushing there with my cat that was in complete distress and couldn’t breath they took her right away and got my baby feeling better as soon as possible come to find my fur baby has asthma they kept her to make sure she was doing better and sent us home with meds and directions I was amazed with how caring the nurse and vet was I definitely recommend them !! They saved my fur babies life

I brought my beloved cat here twice over the last 2 years for chronic kidney disease crashes, with the second crash being especially serious. Both times they were able to get her kidneys working again so we could continue treatment at home, and it didn’t break the bank. It was especially comforting to be able to call a dedicated phone number anytime for updates from the nursing staff.
A couple of weeks ago she wasn’t feeling well once again and I made the mistake of bringing her to a Boston-area referral hospital because we had established a relationship with a specialist there. We were lured into a surgery that not only went over the $10K budget two days before her planned discharge date, but cost her her life.
It’s hard not to wonder where we would be today if I had brought her to VECM instead. She didn’t have a lot of time left regardless, but I know they would have focused on what was best for her and we would not have been left in the dark. Bigger and more expensive is not always better. Thank you, VECM, for your part in giving my special girl a couple of great extra years.

Dr. Major saved my dog. I went in last Friday night after a whole day agonizing at the idea that my 9 year old dog had a neurological condition as suggested by 2 different vets, and that I may had to euthanize him. He was knuckling (tripping on his left front leg). He couldn't get off the floor anymore. He was getting worse every day. I am so glad I decided to go to the emergency center where he finally got an XRay. We ruled out herniated disc and metastasis. Dr. Major was the first vet to detect a lump in his axial region. She put him on prednisone. IV shot that same night then oral tablets afterwards. If it was a tumor, nothing would have changed. Within 24 hours, he was a completely different dog. It was an inflammation all along. An inflammation that got so bad it pressed on his nerve and he couldn't use that leg anymore. Within 24h he was walking. This is day 3 and he hasn't tripped once. He is happy. Wags his tail. I am so grateful Dr. Major was working that night and did the best she could for my dog. The staff was also incredibly caring. Thank you again.
Kimberly Mofford
Got my cat in for an urgent, non-life threatening issue. They fixed her up good as new. Provided oral antibiotics as well as informed me of follow up needed at primary vet. We did have a wait based on priority with 2 patients ahead. The services provided to us relieved my anxieties and we are very happy that they were there for us. Thank you!!

Literally impossible to find a more caring & loving team. I've unfortunately needed their services for emergencies twice now and I can't begin to explain how kind they are. I pass about 25 vets and animal hospitals in my way to them each time. During these emergency situations my nerves are already shot. No other animal hospitals that I've been to are this loving.

Tonight I had to bring in my roommates kitten. I got home from work and something was seriously wrong with her. It ended up being that she had bit a charging cord and got electrocuted. All of the staff was very friend fast and helpful. When I brought her in she was unresponsive and barely breathing. And took her in immediately. Although she didn’t make it they did everything possible. They did successfully get her heart started after she went in to cardiac arrest minuets after arriving. In the end she was put down because of her not having any brain function. While it was a hard experience they made it a million times easier. Such a great place and amazing staff.

Two weeks ago our Lab swallowed a piece of his knuckle bone and began vomiting blood. We took him to our primary care vet who did an X-ray which confirmed the bone was lodged in his stomach. She referred us to an emergency vet center in Concord (who will remain unnamed at this time due to an ongoing investigation) who let him sit in the waiting room vomiting blood and in the exam room vomiting blood. My husband and I began to goggle emergency vets and thought we were going to have to take him to Tuffs. Luckily we found your vet center along the way. We did have to wait but the receptionist kept us updated and kept an eye on us. The emergency vet was outstanding. Knowledgeable and compassionate and kept us updated every step of the way. He explained the risks and benefits of all the procedures and was true to his word. Our dog received great care the two nights he spent in the hospital there and came home with clear discharge instructions and a post op medication plan that kept him very comfortable. With an emergency vet center on every corner, it is important to know where to go.

When I called to get information on what my beloved dog was having issues with, Ellen answered my phone call and was extremely caring right from the beginning...I could hear her empathy for what I was going through. She was informative, intuitive and was a great beginning guide to an unknown territory for me as a pet owner. I'm thankful for her answering my call. When we arrived at the hospital we were greeted warmly and soon met with Crystal, one of the techs. She also was very empathetic and helped me cope with a difficult decision for my girl who's been a part of our family for a very long time! All my questions were answered. Nothing was left unknown to me in the end. I truly feel my girl was in the best possible hands. I was reassured all the way through the procedure. Dr. Hyde was very kind and supports and trusts his team fully.
Though this was a tough night, I feel at ease because of the care in which my girl and I were given. I would absolutely recommend these folks to anyone needing care.
Thank you guys so much for everything. I don't know how we could have done this differently. Best wishes to you all in your futures. 💚

I found Dr. Hyde and Shane to be very caring and professional during my dog, “Daisy’s” visit. She had been vomiting for 18 hours and was becoming dehydrated. I am appreciative of the time taken to be sure Daisy was feeling better.
Dr. Hyde listened to my concerns and offered comprehensive options. Thanks for the TLC

The day I visited Manchester Vet hospital was by far one of the saddest days of my life. My Beautiful cat suddenly became paralyzed when a blood clot let go. It felt (still does) like a very bad dream.
That day, the doctor, along with the rest of the staff were remarkable. I was beyond upset, but the staff was so attentive towards me!
When I went back to get my precious girls ashes - as soon as I walked through the door I fell apart all over again, I could hardly speak. I have no idea who was at the desk at that time but she was so sweet and kind.
At the time I didn’t even thank them - I was in shock. As time goes by and I reflect on that day I think things would have gone far worse for me if it wasn’t for the staff.
Sincerely - I thank you all very much!

The vet techs were very helpful and kind when my cat needed emergency surgery. However, I was appalled to find out that they charge an extra $500 for providing CPR if something were to happen to my cat during surgery. Many people in this country live paycheck to paycheck and should be able to afford having pets (even if they get sick). It’s unfortunate that money plays such a big part in veterinary care, especially since most don’t even offer payment plans.

On Sept 28, 2018, my 17 year old cat Jasper, (who had a history of kidney issues and had been at his own vet many times for it during the past year), was taken to VEC at night because for the past couple of days he had stopped eating and drinking. I had an appointment for him at his regular vet the next day, but I couldn't wait any longer. We did wait a long time, about 4 hours, but several emergency cases were taken in that night so it's understandable. They immediately triaged him and took him in to check for a blockage when we got there, but once it was determined he didn't have a blockage, we waited to see the doctor who that night was Dr. Michael Anderson and he was wonderful. I had brought in Jasper's previous blood work and urine test records. He took more tests that night and sat down with me, in the wee hours of the morning, and like Jasper was the only patient he had all day, compared the results of his tests that night compared to his previous tests. Jasper was in complete kidney failure. I was devastated because Jasper was my baby, my only pet. I still get choked up when I think of him. I asked Dr. Anderson what he would do if it were his cat. He said I had to seriously consider euthanasia and that Jasper was in pain. He offered to give him subcutaneous fluids but it was still probably only a matter of days and why put the cat through that? He was so compassionate with me. I felt he really cared about Jasper. I told him I wanted to wait till the next morning (which was only a few hours later), when he was seeing his own vet, because I wanted her to concur with the recommendation. He said that was understandable and he faxed over the records to her. That next morning, I knew what was going to happen, and Jasper peacefully passed, at his regular vet's office in my arms. I would recommend this place to any pet in an emergency situation. I would even consider Dr. Anderson for my regular vet if I get another cat and if he took regular patients! He was absolutely wonderful - professional and compassionate.

Wonderful understanding staff. I have a very nervous and scared pup who needed to be examined and have X-rays done. I brought both pups with me because my other pup is so happy and friendly it helps my nervous nelly. They never questioned why both were there and immediately recognized they could use her to help him relax without me having to say a word. They were patient enough with him they got an X-ray while he was laying on his back. When he came out of X-ray his tail wasn't tucked and he wasn't pulling too hard on the leash until he saw us. They gave multiple treatment options and listened to my opinions with a very open mind.

I am very greatful to all the staff and vet who treated my dog Isis today. It was a sad day when we had to say goodbye to her. They made everything comfortable for her and us and went out of there way to make sure we had memories and keepsakes. Thank you so much for all that you did. Heather and family.

Our small dog was admitted recently for vomiting, dehydration and lethargy. We called before heading their way and they put us on a list, upon arrival they checked us right in and after a very short wait escorted us to a room. They took his vitals and he had to be admitted - it’s always scary to leave your family member overnight but the doctor and all the staff were so wonderful and reassuring. You could call anytime for an update and they genuinely wanted to talk to you and explain what was going on. Our pup wound up spending two nights here and on pickup the doctor sat with us and explained everything that happened and what the discharge steps were. We just had to call back with a couple questions and they are so helpful. I love the when you call the first person who answers the phone is able to answer your questions and provide guidance. We highly recommend this animal hospital!

Last night my cat Dinah experienced saddle thrombus. My husband and I rushed her to VECM thinking she must have broken leg. We were sorely mistaken. The doctor told us what happened and explained our choices. We had to make the heart breaking decision to let her go. We knew it was the most humane thing to do. We had never been to VECM before but from the receptionists to the vet techs to the doctor herself, everyone was so kind and accommodating. My husband and I were terrified and devastated. I haven’t cried that hard in a very long time. I want to say thank you so much to the entire staff. I wish I could remember everyone’s names but it’s all a bit of a blur of sadness and tears. You all took care of us very well. And helped our sweet girl cross the Rainbow Bridge in comfort and peace. Thank you for taking away her pain. And for so gently and expertly walking through that moment with us.
Best,
Sarah and Paul Higgins

I have been to your facility several times over the years with a variety of pets. You guys do a really great job. Last night I came in with my dying elderly cat. You all were so kind and compassionate and helped her pass peacefully. I can not thank you enough, for taking such good care of her (and us).

Two days ago my 7 month old Doberman Joppa ingested a toy he shouldn’t have causing vomiting and clear uncomfortable pains. Joppa is my first dog that me and my girlfriend just got, we were terrified & didn’t really know what to do. After the recommendation from our local vet to bring him here we did just so.
Joppa had to stay the night and undergo surgery but seems to be on the mend pretty quick. The whole staff we interacted with made us feel very safe and comfortable despite what we thought was the worst. As a dog lover and first time owner it really was an indescribable feeling of comfort. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Joppa will come by when he’s better and bring thank you’s.
Thank you again,

Went there today with my dog Casey with Dr. Major. The staff was extra friendly and worked with my dogs special needs since she was abused before we got her. The facility was clean and very nice inside and out. Highly recommend for emergency vet needs and will return if I ever need an emergency vet again.

The staff at VECM were all very friendly and amazing! They all took very good care of our little loved Lila! The staff answered every time I called no matter what time it was and they never made me feel like I was bothering them! They kept me very informed with Lilas status and everything they were doing! Lila was admitted early Saturday morning and they allowed me to visit her late that same night to say good night to my princess they allowed me to even spend a little time with her!
Thank you to all who played a very special important role/part in keeping her safe, providing 24 hour well needed care!
Love the Wilmot family!

I called 5 different emergency vets and this place was the only place that felt comfortable taking care of my rat in need. They did not make fun or make light of the situation and treated my little baby like any other kind of animal. A lot of people would say "it's just a rat" but not this place. I cried so hard and no one worried about it. The doctor and staff sat with me, explained things, hugged me, and let me sit for as long as I wanted with her while I made my hard choice. They didn't rush me, they offered me coffee, they treated my little one promptly and with care. She would have suffered without them...

Our Pit Bull swallowed a golf ball and we were concerned about how to get it removed before serious problems occurred. Dr Levesque and Meg who advised us on all the options were outstanding , and then finding a solution with bringing in a specialist, Dr Faith Buckley who was successful in removing the golf ball without having to do surgery. Very professional ++++++

Last week, we unfortunately had to say goodbye to our 13-year-old kitty, Fonz. The entire staff was so kind and expeditiously helpful given the odd circumstances with COVID. We waited in the car while Fonz was triaged and diagnosed. Dr. Hyde was beyond compassionate with every word he said and explained to us in detail exactly what was going on. While we never thought we’d be driving to the vet that day and then driving home without Fonz, we were able to spend Fonz’s last moments together outside at the picnic table thanks to Dr. Hyde’s and the staff’s understanding of how important that was for us. Thank you to all the staff and Dr. Hyde. We know our Fonzie was in the best hands possible at the end and are so grateful he was able to be in ours during his last moments.
Rachel Norton
Really prompt service and extraordinarily kind staff. They were very reassuring and explained everything twice over for us. Wish they weren't just an emergency clinic, as everyone we interacted with on the whole team were super resourceful and comforting, especially in a stressful situation. Couldn't recommend more highly.

Our 7 year old husky started having a severe drop in energy levels and was doing what we later learned was reverse sneezing (to us it sounded like choking). It was late at night and we were worried he may do something at night that we wouldn’t catch. We went to this hospital because it was the closest but we feel so lucky we found it. Everyone from the front desk to the vet was calm, welcoming and caring. They didn’t make us feel like we overreacted and answered ALL of our questions (repeatedly at times). We really wish we could have our regular vet appointments there because this staff is top notch. Also their waiting room is fantastic. We realized we hadn’t eaten all day and they had snacks and drinks ready to go. Thank you everyone for helping our husky return to “normal” husky energy!!!!

This place is amazing. Not only did there take care of my kitty, but they were prompt in there attention and decently priced. Only downside is the wait, but they see the most dire case first and foremost and will atleast they let you call ahead and they will put you on the list and then call you when it gets closer to the time when they are able to see your beloved fur kids. Couldn't be happier with them. Thanks again for saving my kitty!

We have a Bernese Mountain Dog. She was using to tongue to apparently try to get something out of her mouth on a
Saturday of last week.. While having
difficult time swallowing. The lady on the phone put our paranoid emotions in check. Asked us questions. Told us what to do. Our dog just had an upset stomach. It's been a long week, but wanted to reach out and say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.
They are certainly Very Highly Qualified. Thank you again for EVERYTHING...Kevin Gurley

I went there when my cat had a seizure. They were very sympathetic, helpful and respectful. They gave me the time I needed with my cat and were visibly upset when they had to deliver the option of putting her down. They allowed me the time I needed to be with her and hold her and I will forever be grateful for how they handled a moment in time that will be forever seared into my heart. Thank you to all the staff.
Sonja Blayde
The staff at VEC are AMAZING! A year ago they saved our fur baby's life and it is so comforting knowing that anytime I call with a question about his medications and other health questions they are always polite, knowledgeable and prompt with returning calls and they never ask if he has been seen by them before, they genuinely just want to help. I would 100% recommend them to anyone who needs urgent care for their furry family members! Thank you everyone at VEC!

My young siamese cat who had a chronic kidney condition needed to be put to sleep. It was a terribly sad time and a very difficult decision. The staff were very gracious to me and my vet, Dr. Robinson, was tremendous. Dr. Robinson gave me enough information to make an informed decision and she explained all of the different aspects including diagnosis and prognosis. I can't say enough good things about them.
Rob Albert
My cat ate a sewing needle and it passed all the way through its system to his rear end then embedded itself in his rectum. The staff on duty was awesome. They were able to remove the needle and treat the abscess and he is now resting and doing great. Thank you everyone!

Our dog Noah was just seen for pneumonia. We first took him to an emergency vet facility closer to where we live and they sent him home when he needed to be monitored. We checked with our vet and they reassured us that he needed to be seen by emergency care. When we arrived noah was vomiting and extremely fatigued. He wouldn’t eat or drink and was just very sick. From the front desk to the doctor himself, everyone was so kind. Noah had to be taken as an in patient and we were given a number that we could call to check in to see how he was doing. Our boy is back home and on his way to recovery! He’s still not himself but everyday he will get stronger. At one point we were scared of loosing him but the staff at this emergency clinic helped him pull through and we can’t thank you enough!

I couldn't get my puppy into our vet soon enough so I brought her to VECM and have to say I am so impressed with the professionalism and excellent care they gave. The vet spent time to carefully go over what may have caused the digestive problem. If you're concerned about a delay to see your own vet, I highly recommend a visit to VECM. I'm very happy with my experience there.

We took our dog there in the middle of the night. He had a disc rupture. The folks there were respectful and supportive. I was impressed with the Vet. who examined our bichon. He spoke to us at length about what to expect and treatments.
Ryan
If your looking to wait a long time to be seen, this is the place for you. We were seen on Xmas Eve and Xmas, so I expected long waits. But they jumped people in front of us the 1 night and took 3 hours the second night to just do x-rays. A total of 7 hours over 2 days to get 2 sets of x-rays. Not impressed. But staff seemed nice and friendly, didn't have issues others mentioned. X-ray costs seemed comparable to our normal vet.
Edit: the Dr on site on Xmas night was very good, better than the previous night. Very personable which may have contributed to longer wait times. I gave additional star due to him.

My Sadie cat was so sick over the weekend. She was throwing up and had diarrhea. I was very nervous. They asked me questions and looked her over and answered all my questions. They ended up keeping her for the day to give her meds and testing. I called them 3 times to make sure she was doing ok. They were so nice each time. And when it comes to money.... They are very nice. They go over different treatment options and what they think would be best to have done and prices. I can't say enough great things about them. I drive 20min from nashua because they are so great!
Heather Gilman
Excellent customer service and care for your animal. My dog has separation anxiety as well as crate anxiety and they made him feel as welcome and comfortable as they could. They are wonderful about you calling to check on your pet while they are there and offer the best care that they can while your animal is there. I would highly recommend!! Thank you greatly for helping my buddy Dewey!
Kat Lawson
They are remarkably kind and let us make the proper decision for our fur baby. After Evan was seen, we were told horrible news we would have to let her go and the staff were amazing with her and us. In the future, we will be sure to back for emergency needs. Thank you for being so kind to our angel!
Nikole Keaton
My family is beyond pleased with the love and care our 2 Aussies (Betsy & Flash) have received at VECM. Each staff member we have worked with has always been compassionate and talked to us about the issues at hand with respect but also in language we could understand. We have been going to VECM since 2014 when they helped us with our sick golden retriever and made sending her to heaven as easy as it could be despite the terrible circumstances. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who wants quality emergency care for their pet.

Cannot say enough good things about this facility. The Dr's and staff are not only incredibly knowledgeable and skilled...... They are also incredibly compassionate and caring. Feel very fortunate to know that they are always available if needed in an emergency. Highly recommended them to anyone who has a need for emergency care for a pet. Also, prices are very reasonable for the quality of care provided. Lisa Petrucelli

Brought my cat in because he was drooling and panting around 7pm it was so busy I waited in my car till 1:30am until we brought my cat home they said they just think he’s nauseous because of new medicine we didn’t get seen by the doctor. The next couple hours when I woke up he seemed worse and I rushed him back, it seems it was just his time and he lost his battle with cancer. The staff was so caring and let me take all the time i needed I got to play with him in the parking lot one last time and hold him when he went for as long as I wanted with the kind words of the doctor as I cried like a baby over my sick 11 year old baby. It must be so hard having to tell owners all day if this happens....I give it to you. I’m heartbroken but glad he’s no longer suffering ❤️ Thank you again to the morning staff on sept 4th, you treated my baby like your own and that means the world to me. I guess it depends on what shift you get my second experience here was way better. R.i.p C.C. 🐱🐾

We needed emergency care for our dog, and due to covid restrictions we couldn't physically enter the building. The staff was so helpful and took utmost care for our dog and kept us informed with every procedure they performed. We are grateful for their services.

They saved my Akita's life and were open and friendly the entire time, and very patient with my constant calling. Even in the pandemic the doctors and nurses here saved my baby and now she's home safe and sound. Please do not hesitate to contact them in an emergency!

In the last two months, we have had to utilize VEC for end of life services for two of our very loved (and very old) cats. The team was amazingly kind, courteous, and considerate throughout both visits. I am very grateful to them for allowing our girls to pass in peace.

Went in for an emergency call at night for my cat Lillith, knowing she was old and fearing the worst. The wait was extensive even though it seemed like there weren't many patients, even though I felt my need was urgent, there were other pets who needed care and who could be helped, the triage was correct as her time had come. Dr. Crowley was knowledgeable and professional and the nurses were compassionate. The staffing is short, as it is everywhere these days, but they did the best they could.

We recently took my cat there when he was struggling to breathe, and the staff were great. They got him stabilized right away and ran some tests to figure it all out. When the x rays returned with some confusing results, the dr we worked with referred them right away to radiology and started preemptive steroids to help him breathe better. After radiology determined he needed the care of an internist, they called around and referred us to a larger hospital as their internist was on vacation. They arranged our transfer and called them as we left to make sure someone was waiting for us on the other end. They were excellent with the human care as well, giving me a number to call when ever I had questions and calling me regularly with updates. I was very upset and worried and the care they showed me as well as my cat was so appreciated. I have been to other hospitals in the area that have not been as accommodating, and I would recommend this hospital to anyone looking for compassionate care for their animals.

I brought my dog in on Saturday night in a panic because he broke off his canine tooth. They were very clear about how they could help him and gave us antibiotics and painkillers to get through the weekend until we could see our regular vet. They were so helpful!

You never go to the emergency vet for a good reason. Ours was for the worst. The staff was kind, caring and honest about the status of our very loved dog. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart for their kindness and empathy.

We are so very thankful and can't recomend this hospital enough. Their staff is amazing, compationate, responsive and with high professional ethics! we brought our dog with a serious intestinal blockage on Thanksgiving night. Dr. Christina Winn was very thorough explaining the case and providing solutions. We had visited the Rockinham Emergency Vet hospital in Windham for the initial evaluation and the difference in patient aproach and cost was monumental.

My cat had a partial block and they helped me so much. Even the follow up calls they were so helpful when I was uncertain about his condition. They always gave me the best advice and just didn’t say came back to pay more. Felt like they were really concerned about my pet! I’d go back but hopefully I never need to!!

I went to this hospital on a recommendation from my vet because they were closed on a late Sunday night. I have to say that I was very impressed and it takes alot to impress me when it comes to my dogs. The woman that took all my information was very friendly and helpful. The tech who first looked at my dog was very professional and careful when she looked at Jimmy. The vet came in right afterwards and instantly put me at ease. She actually was a friend of my vet's. This vet actually heard a very quiet heart murmur that my vet had not detected yet!) She made Jimmy very comfortable, gave me meds for a few days and then told me to have some things done at my vet's that could wait a day so I could save some money!
When I went to my vet's the next day they told me that all the medical information had already been sent from the ER hospital, they had talked to the vet and were ready to do the procedures needed. My vet actually had to listen for the heart murmur which she said was so faint that in a room where people were talking, it normally would not be heard. Luckily the murmur was new and for now nothing has to be done but if it wasn't for this ER vet, the murmur would go undetected for a while.
I would recommend this hospital to anyone!

My dog Apple had a bot fly. Called my vet who told me I need it taken care of right away but they couldn’t see us and basically told me good luck. I knew the emergency vet was going to be busy and overwhelmed. Was told when we walked in the wait is unknown and maybe waiting well into the night. Which I already assumed. We were seen a lot quicker than expected, they took great care of my little dog and removed that demon bot fly. As over whelmed and busy as they are here everyone was smiling and stayed professional! Everyone doing the best they can with a smile on their face.

Competent, kind, and compassionate help for your pet. I found the staff to be very friendly, helpful, and they know their stuff. If there was the likeliness of any wait, I was told what to expect. Excellent communication.

I believe they save to of my kittens lives ...they were not eating tried everything for 3 days every kind of food you can imagine even plain rice and chicken they refused they were both vomiting and had diarrhea were not playing at all only sleeping and sitting not moving ..I suspected they ate a pieces of an indoor tree I have and communicated everything I'd observed ..from the beginning they communicated everything with me the wait time and if I felt they were severe enough they would bring in and triage and go based on most critical needs first I chose to stay home until they called for my turn so I could keep them with me when it was my time they called I came down they were extremely busy parking lot was packed and the key thing was they were honest about waits ..they brought my boys in and gave them fluids under their skin meds to stop vomiting and the diarrhea and special food and instructions if they continues to not eat or vomit as per doctors instructions I began force feeding with syringe yesterday when they still refused food with in 30 min they were up walking around and even briefly played for 5 min first time in 4 days I continued the feeding for the day and by night they both began to take small bites of food on their own and I'm seeing a change in behavior towards the positive ...they communicated prices with me and did what they could to save me money since both kittens clearly were sick from same thing they ran blood work on the one who was showing the most symptoms ...the nurses and doctors are honest caring and clearly state everything the whole way through and once it was my turn they quickly handled their symptoms ..going to an animal ER you know it will probably not be cheap just as if you went the er yourself however they did what they could to save me money and provide thr best care they needed I am now seeing huge improvements in them and will continue to follow the doctors advice they gave me tools ..to call and look up since it seems they ingested a toxic tree leaf in my home so that I could look up all my plants to figure out which ones are not safe and either need to be disposed of or put in a looked indoor green house cage for my fur babies safety ...they were great ...I believe my young kittens may have died from not eating and dehydration had I not brought them in ...thank you for saving them and giving me the tools to learn what in my home is not safe for them to prevent anything like this from ever happening again

Service from the staff was very good, the vet we met with seemed to know heir stuff but their chair side manner left a bit to be desired. Pricing wasn't crazy and was very impressed that they were able to get our sick cat in as quickly as they were. Overall good place to go.
Abigail Camarota Mscisz
The vets and vet techs here gave around the clock A+ care to my 12 year old dog that would have not survived had I brought him elsewhere for emergency surgery. I am SO THANKFUL for this hospital and would recommend it to anyone. Please drive right past AVC and go here for expert care.

Make sure they give you an Itemized bill at the time you depart with your animal.
If they quote you a price before service, make sure they honor it because, they did not for me.
Linda Barrow
We have been here a few times for small events, and every time has been a good experience. The wait was not long, and the staff were caring. Our vet recommends this facility.

... Still waiting to be seen after an hour and 15 minutes. It's because it's early in the morning and only have 1 Vet on during night hours. Although they've been accommodating
