This is the only vet that I have been to that doesn't constantly try upselling. The employees who work the front desk are absolutely amazing. Having a sick or hurt animal is stressful. All of the employees at Merrimack Veterinary Hospital always know how to handle pet parents with patience and love. They always greet my dog Amara by giving her some love, which is a pleasure to witness. They do a great job communicating by phone and by email, which is helpful. The doctors and vet technicians are always extremely kind and thorough. My dog Amara is blind. The doctors never rush Amara. They always let her get comfortable before starting their exam. They always make sure to address all of my issues and always invite me to reach out for any reason. It is amazing to have a whole team that I trust with my baby.

The ONLY vet I will take my dog Hope too. Even with curbside services, I felt comfortable and at ease after her first appointment. Every technician we have met and every person on the phone I have spoken with have been extremely helpful and make me feel like my pet is in good hands. She gets seen by Dr. Quenemoen who is always in contact with me regarding her test results and to discuss next steps with her treatments. Hope and I appreciate all you guys do at Merrimack Vet! All the people I met with were friendly, and Molly my dog seemed to be comfortable with them. Very knowledgeable. One thing I would like to mention, offer patient written prescription over filling at the office, sometimes a customer can save money filling elsewhere. I chose this vet practice when I moved to NH over a year ago. As with all practices they have had their struggles with the Covid crisis but they truly care about their patients. My 14yo dog has had a recent health scare. Dr. Dening was front and center, providing professional care. The staff was really supportive of my pet - and me. There will be ongoing monitoring for a time. I know my pet is in good hands.

My dog was having what I thought was minor excitement breathing, some over heating due to the hot weather - we had an appointment booked for the next day yet pushed to see her the same day I was calling. I sat outside (due to COVID) and waited for all testing to be done. They came out with every update, knowledgeable and very well spoken on the subject - it was nice to feel like someone was on our side and helping us understand the situation and not just pushing tests on her. They sent all the testing out and said they would call back on Saturday and they did as soon as they received answers - which only took a day. We ended up finding out that she has an enlarged heart. Not only are they offering so many solutions, I mentioned trying out alternative therapies and they put me in contact with a specialist for some advice and sent over all of my girls test results. There is no other place I would feel comfortable bringing her. She has high anxiety and she was not in any panic but happy when she came back out. They all love her as much as she loves them and I couldn't ask for a better group. The whole staff is friendly and cheerful when calling, you don't feel rushed, and you also don't feel like the questions you have are an inconvenience to them. I highly recommend bringing your fur baby here, you will not be disappointed!

They offered many options for some of the things there going to need to be done in the future and were very attentive to my questions into my options financially. Dr. Denning is an excellent physician; he is highly recommended. When my dog needed a dental procedure, I called every vet in the state and was referred to him MULTIPLE times. They are always very kind to my pet. The practice is covered in hair- I imagine it would be- and I bet they are too busy giving loving care to everyone’s pets to have someone cleaning full time, but they should. Other than that minor detail, I have always been happy at Merrimack Veterinary Hospital

The 2 ladies that are the groomers are OUTSTANDING! My pup is getting old and cranky. After many places saying he's just to crabby , they got him groomed and took the time to allow him to be comfortable. Needless to say they will be his new groomer going fwd. Merrimack Veterinary Hospital has cared for our dogs' and our cat's medical needs for years and I've always been pleased. Most recently, they boarded my anxious rescue pup for a week while we traveled to our son's wedding. Our dog participated in daycare, received daily kongs, was groomed, and I received a report card of her experience - it was obvious that she was well cared for. Peace of mind was well worth the money vs other (cheaper) boarding/daycare places that had said my dog was too anxious and not the right fit.

Brought mine and my children's foster kitty Lucifer(Nathan)(foster moms child name)to his wellness check up since( foster parents have to take good care of foster animal) and then be checked out to make sure animal can be adopted by us. And he came out with 100% which means me and my two kids got our Christmas gift biggest major one from my mother. Place is amazing and very fair friendly and much more. Good place to bring your animals for just about anything and everything.

Merrimack Veterinary Hospital is a wonderful place. My dogs love it there. Gatsby goes there for doggie day care as well as being treated there. He loves it. I have not had a problem with him going there at all. Katana is shy but yanks me into the door when she goes to be examined. All the technicians and vets know both dogs and are so good to them. They tell me exactly what I need to do to help my dog when there is a problem and when I need advice they are always so helpful. I do not hesitate to take my pets here.

Couldn't be happier with the care my kitten received. I couldn't really rate them before, as my first and only visit prior was during the pandemic, and there was little interaction with vets and techs. But, they were fantastic with our kitten, Scout and I'm sure they were with Stache as well.

We had a very sick dog with liver disease that required a lot of testing and a couple days in the hospital. He eventually passed away, but he got the best care by Dr. Dening, a real professional who genuinely loves animals of all kinds.

Very personable, great under pressure, very knowledgeable and was all about helping the animals and caring for their needs. I have a dog who is extremely anxious and I had an extremely hard time trying to find a place that would groom my dog as well as receive his yearly vaccines but Merrimack Veterinary Hospital staff have worked with me and my dog is now THRIVING and in a place where he is well cared for and staff who worked with me to find a positive solution for my dog! Their grooming salon also has taken my other dog and have taken very good care of him!! I can't say enough good things about this organization!

I brought my pug in for his allergy shot, nails trimmed and ears cleaned. Three month's ago his last shot was $67.00. Yesterday his shot was pennies shy of $90.00. So whats changed and why the jump in price when it take the same amount of time to give a shot and its the same exact citopoint injection he has had for 5 years. I understand the economy going in the toilet, but that's rediculas. I'm going to look for another vet, if this continues.

The Dr was behind and I do understand that some cases need more time and emergencies come in. So I’m not going to complain about that. But I do wish there was a way they could say your appt is at 4:30 but the Dr is an hour behind you can come 30 minutes later or something. Wishful thinking maybe. The prices I think are a little higher then other vets. Even the vets that come to your home. I really like the Dr. He is awesome! He heard out all my concerns and explained everything. He did not rush even though he was behind so I do appreciate that. The stuff is kind and helpful.

This is the second time I took our dog to Merrimack Veterinary hospital for sedating grooming. The doctor and the groomer did a wonderful job taking care of our four year old anxious / stressed Akita. Staff is pleasant to work with and are highly courteous from the time you book the appointment until the time you leave the building after the appointment. Groomer did an amazing job trimming the nails, cleaning the ears, trimming ear hair, and brushing the undercoat really well. I am very happy with the staff, groomer and the doctor.

I have been going to the Merrimack Veterinary Hospital for several years for service on another pet and recently visited with our new puppy, Tanker. The staff and doctor were great. They answered all of our questions with professional and research-based data and we had a lot of questions because Tanker is a new breed for us. We are extremely satisfied with the service, the ease of making appts., appt. reminders and recommendation of products for all our puppy needs. If you live in the area, this is a great place to take your pet. Evening and Saturday appts. too!

I cannot recommend this vet enough, I have been going here for about a year now. I have a 1 year old bloodhound, and the staff is so loving towards him, they always answers any questions that I may have, I have not been able to go inside due to covid, but the facility looks beautiful. I brought Copper to daycare for the first time , and they absolutely loved him, he came home went right to his bed in his crate and fell right asleep. In any situation something were to happen to him at daycare, I know that he is right there at his vet, and will be well cared for. I will be bringing him back for daycare.

Sasquatch Creativity In The Forests

Brought our cat Brownie in for dental work. We drop him off the night before, as it's easier then the day of, due to him not getting his breakfast and hides under the bed -- his safe spot -- for him. We get updates on his progress and excellent after care verbal instruction as to what to watch out for and how to assist in keeping his teeth in great shape. We have been going to Merrimack Vetinary for 15 years and with 3 different cats. As long as we continue to have pets. We will go there and make use of the PAW plan.

I’ve been bringing my animals to Merrimack Veterinary Hospital for about three years now and I am always so impressed! My fiancé and I have four cats, so needless to say we have a handful of appointments throughout the year. Everyone, from the doctors to the vet techs to the front office staff, is always so friendly and takes great care of our kitties. Just yesterday we had to bring one of our cats in after noticing some signs of respiratory distress. Long story short, he was diagnosed with feline asthma. It was a stressful day for our cat and for us, but Dr. Driscoll was absolutely wonderful and made sure we were informed and had all of our questions answered. It is apparent how busy the staff is and how hard they work (especially with so many people adopting pets during the pandemic!) but I have never felt rushed or like my pets’ care has been compromised in any way. Thank you to the Merrimack Veterinary Hospital staff for all you do! I’m sure so many clients can relate when I say our cats are such an important part of our family, and it means the world to us to have them cared for by such a knowledgeable and caring team!

Was a satisfied customer long ago. Got an appt quickly for a new pet. They were extremely thorough and answered all our questions. The only problem was that it was so much information. Wish they could have provided a little more follow-up/reminder notes, or I had recorded the conversations with the Vet and Vet Tech. Even during covet, and all of the social protocols to keep everyone safe, it was evident that my dog was absolutely terrified and couldn't be examined while I was outside in my car. The vet called and they made an exception so that I could go in and be with her and the exam went so quickly and smoothly for her and me. We’ve been going here for seven years since we moved from South Carolina. They have taken great care of our dog but lately with all this garbage about masks and making us sit in the parking lot and wait for somebody to come out with all the dogs in the daycare barking and dogs in other cars barking and my dog sitting in the car panting and getting very nervous. They need to wake up the Covid mask thing is done let’s go….people are vaccinated the idea of having to call and wait it’s ridiculous

Sherrie has groomed my two Whoodles (wheaten/poodle mix) a few times now. Even when handed off to her in the rattiest of conditions, she manages to give them back looking pretty good! When I keep up with the grooming, she has them looking like they are ready for Westminster! Also, Murphy can be kind of an @&& and she manages to charm him. She’s a magician as far as I’m concerned!

What can I say. Every time I call I have a great experience. I had called about one of our cats that had a nail growing into her paw pad. The got us in right away. Everyone there is great to deal with. The drs are very knowledgeable and show that they care for your pet and not their pockets.

Overall good friendly service. However, a number of times conversations and medical concerns discussed in appointments with my pet were not documented several times. They did apologize and provide great service. Though, it makes you lose faith in the Doctors, Facility, and hospital you trust to treat/care for your pet.

They staff are friendly and caring with the our dogs. They seem to do a pretty good job treating and diagnosing our dogs in person appointment seem to go pretty well. We have one fairly chill go with the follow dog and one that is more nervous.. As they have learned the personalities of each dog treating them has become easier.... for example everything goes much better if we walk our more nervous dog around outside wait until they are actually ready to start the appoint to bring him into the exam room and they now take him in the back for blood work and so forth. While as long as our other dogs gets treats & loves she will hang out all day! I will say the biggest draw back in the turn over in vets & staff... seem to be every 2-5 years a vets, techs or office staff changes. But to be fair this is a group run Hospital not a small self owned vet practice. The costs reflect this.. in that it is not cheap. But they do have more high tech and up to date equipment than our prior smaller vet clinic in CA. There xrays are better quality and they are able to do more advanced testing & treatments in house. Last time we went it was $65 each for a vet appointment, nurse/shot appointments are less. I think a full set of shots/check up for two dogs it typical around $500. And of course if they need additional blood work, treatment it adds from there. They do try to work with you on providing good treatment and balancing it with costs. (They have also repeated at no cost to us once when the lab had questionable results.) Any time we have called with questions, had follow up questions or needed to review test results before deciding on the next step/appointment the staff & vets have been great. I've spent nearly a hour before talking with a vet over the phone going over the details of test & illness. I like that they do offer boarding and the day care. While we often take out current dogs to a different boarding location it is nice to have as a back up. It was also very nice to have boarding at the vet when we had a Senior dog with chronic medical conditions. Over all I would recommend them to a friend.

We have been bringing our cats and dog to see mostly Dr Dening for years, and have very much liked him. He has a nice way with the animals and straightforward with me as their owner. Unfortunately, after giving it months of much thought to switch vets because of how the desk staff handled the death of one of my cats. My elderly cat, who took a turn for the worse one morning, needed an urgent appointment. This was a visit that was going to likely result in her euthanasia as she was suffering. I made this clear over the course of three phone calls in 1 hour. I was told there were no appointments, and could we come next week? After several attempts to communicate that I had a dying cat I was given an appointment for the next morning. My husband then came home from work, swaddled our cat up and just walked in with her right then. This may not have been looked upon as nice on our part to just walk in without an appointment but we felt we had no other option. Ultimately we couldn't be turned away at that time given my husband was in their office with the cat - and the vet did see them and agreed she was dying. She was euthanized. We haven't been back as this experience really was off putting. Dr. Denning- if you read this I do want you to know that we very much appreciated the care we received by you for our animals but I am hoping that no other client has been put off like this when they call with an urgent matter. We had been coming to the practice for about 15 years up to that point with all our animals and have never been put off with our other 2 previous dying animals like this so it was quite a surprise to say "We have a dying cat and need to come in today" and told next week was the next appointment.

What a great place the staff is so friendly. Current procedures require you to call and check in. Nurse calls you back to get info and comes outside to get pet. Doctor calls and and reviews pets condition, treatment, pending issues and the cost. Very professional

Last minute, I found myself needing boarding facilities for my critters for the weekend. Lots of places will take cats, but finding a place for my chinchilla to stay, was difficult to say the least. I must have called 20 different places, without any luck until I stumbled upon MVH. Every minute of my experience with these folks has been positive. Vet side of operations is run well. However the grooming service has ended up huge disappointment. After having been there for grooming twice I felt I found a groomer. However, 3rd visit proofed disaster. My baby looks was chopped up hair and had been cut so close to her skin it wore a sore spot around her eye. So so disappointed!!!!

We drive 45 minutes for our dogs to see Dr. Dening. Even though there are Veterinary Hospitals within walking distance of our house, we feel Dr. Dening's knowledge and exemplary level of commitment to our pets is worth the drive. He takes as much time as necessary to thoroughly take care of our boys and also to explain everything to us. Dr. Dening has gone above and beyond on numerous occasions for us and for our beloved pets. The front desk staff as well as the technicians are always happy, friendly, and sweet to our animals. It is a happy experience and I leave feeling I have done the best for my dogs by bringing them to Merrimack Veterinary Hospital.

Would love to give five stars, because you can get good care and the staff is definitely caring , but MVH consistently runs very late (more than half-hour) with visits in the last two years. Also I don't appreciate the excessive markup for medications needed after certain types of care that you can get either online or at a local pharmacy for 5x less, which is annoying to find out after it's given to you at the end of the day and your pet needs it that night - I have no problem with them wanting to make slight profit, but that kind of markup is pretty much obscene. Some tendency to push for services that are unnecessary which reminds me too much of being at a dentist office.
