1st visit was awesome!! Dr Murray (I think is name, I am terrible with names) came out to car to meet us, explained every shot, laid out a plan for next 6 months. Everyone I met was so kind & I felt safe putting my pup in their care. Edit: after leaving this review I acquired another dog, 2 yr old Bully, had him checked out, shots, fixed and a year later am still very happy with this animal hospital. The entire staff from front desk to techs to the Dr's treat my 2 pets with the utmost care!! & checking around they are not that expensive (saw some complaints about prices) . But I would rather pay a little more & get the EXCELLENT care they give!!

Springhurst Animal Hospital cares. They are also up to date on the latest treatment for your pet. My Ally has allergies and now she gets a shot that lasts for months. No more daily injections or pills, such a difference. Every person you come in contact with is pleasant. I've tried a few vets in Louisville. Spring Hurst Animal Hospital is far and beyond the best.

The staff are amazing. We recently switched vets due to the way our previous vet handled our rescue dog. You can tell the staff here truly care about their job and the animals no matter personality your pet has. We recently adopted a dog that was abused and her anxiety is extremely high magnitude. They spent an hour talking with me, giving me resources, coming up with a plan to help our sweet girl become more trusting, and to help her learn that each space or experience doesn't have to be negative. I honestly believe with their care we can help our girl become more sociable. We have already switched all of our pets over to Springhurst Animal Hospital.

I have taken my cats here for years. One of my cats, Echo, is “special needs.” I’ve had a few emergencies with him & they have worked him in on the same day. Echo has a severe case of Stomatitis. After trial & error with several meds & treatments, we thought we were going to have to put him down but Dr. Keehner saved his life by trying him on “Apoquel” that typically is not used to treat Stomatitis but it cleared his throat & gums right up. I am forever grateful. The vets, vet tech & receptionists are kind, courteous, professional & they genuinely care for your pets. My mom recently started taking her cats here as well. I wholeheartedly trust them with my cats’ care. I know Echo is so grateful & feeling so much better. I wish he could talk to tell his story. Thank you Springhurst for everything.

She has been incredibly helpful with managing several situations for our pets - she's patient and explains things well and always provides options to allow us to find the solution that's going to work best for our family. Review 2015: We love Dr. Keehner & Dr. Stello at SAH. We have taken our puppies here since 2008. We have a very stressful, sudden emergency with our bulldog. Dr. Keehner went above & beyond for us. Even met us at Blue Pearl Vet after hours to make sure our Maggie was taken care of before her surgery. Would highly recommend. 2022: There have been many changes over the years & most recently not for the best. Since becoming a part of a corporate practice model, most things have changed. Sadly this is the model most practices are moving to. Everyone is still kind & sweet to our dogs; but feel it’s all about the money. We called with an emergency recently early on a Saturday morning & we’re told they are unavailable to see her. Our options were to go to emergency hospital or wait until Monday to be seen. Very disappointed in how SAH has changed.

I’ve been taking my pup to Springhurst Animal Hospital for the past 9 years. Each time we go, all staff members make us feel so special and loved! Dr Keehner is the best! My pup needed medicine on a Friday evening and she came through to help us out. When picking up the medicine, Ashley came out to check on my pup and thoroughly explained how to administer the medicine; she even gave me her cell phone number in case I had questions over the weekend. They are AMAZING and so compassionate. Hands down the best vet I have ever been to. My cat had been sick for a day and a half so I called and they were able to fit me in right away. I brought her in and she ended up having to have emergency surgery. It was definitely stressful and many tears were shed, but they reassured me and took amazing care of my fur baby. I was updated on her status before and after surgery and every few hours she was in recovery. Dr Keehner and all the vet techs are so amazing and sweet, and I’m so glad I trusted them to take such good care of my baby. I will definitely be coming back for any of my fur baby’s needs as well as her sister’s! Thank you SO much!!!!!

Staff we're very nice. I think my visit for 2 dog's was very expensive$337.00 plus the $50.00 down payment. My dog's both were supposed to get the second round of the flu vacc, they took a stool sample, and took a blood sample for heartworms, I believe they charge for the office visit. I definitely would have refused those 2 thing's if I would have known the price. The flu vacc was $41.50 per dog. The rest was the other. The flu vacc that I came for, they forgot to give it to one of my dog's. I have to go back 4-2-22, ( I understand thing's happen, not mad). I'm going to stick with them, but refuse anything I didn't specifically come for.

Springhurst Animal Hospital, What can I say is the best. I actually left my previous vet for over 15 yrs bc they were not able to fix a issue with my dog and they did in the first visit. The staff is friendly, caring and actually know my dog by name. I never have a problem getting an appointment. They are a class A establishment. If you have a new puppy or an older pet I highly recommend them to anyone. I will continue to take my pet there without question. I want to thank the staff and doctors for such great care. My dog is my child and I would not trust anyone else but Springhurst Animal Hospital

My newly adopted cat needed a dental extraction and I didn't feel my previous vet was the best fit. Springhurst took us in as new patients with a severe situation and made us feel very at home even though they had just met us. All the vets at Springhurst Animal Hospital are terrific! We have gone to them for many years and they have always taken great care of our dogs. I really appreciated their patience and kindness when we had to put down our older dog. They have also been very helpful in dealing with health issues in one of our other dogs. Springhurst Animal Hospital is the best my pet has ever experienced! Their staff is great and their care is A+. Besides that, I use them for boarding. They are attentive, caring and highly skilled! We have been clients at SAH for 17 years. I cannot recommend this clinic, its docs and staff more highly. The front of the clinic staff is friendly and organized, and Mary (the practice manager) is always available to address questions and concerns. The kennel staff has always taken great care when we boarded, and the grooming staff does well. The docs are knowledgeable, and willing to offer advice, even in hard situations. We recently had to make the difficult decision to euthanize our elderly dog, and the staff was informative, kind and compassionate through the process. A new dog recently joined our family, and we hope we have a long relationship with this practice with the new dog as well. We recently moved to a different part of town, and have numerous pet care options close by, but we'll drive to Springhurst because we know our fur baby will get top notch care there! It's been fun watching the practice grow over the years.

I got my dog last June. Springhurst Animal Hospital has done a great job during Covid with scheduling and handling pets while keeping their employees safe. I have yet to meet any of the vets, but I feel that my dog is in good hands. They call you during the visit and let you know what is happening with your pet. The staff is friendly and they get you answers to all your questions.

Cannot say enough good things about this animal hospital and its staff. Everyone there is so kind, welcoming, and helpful. A cyst on my dog's back popped one night and they were able to get him in for surgery the very next day to get him taken care of. They take time to answer all your questions and plan treatment specific to your pet; they truly care about your pet's health and well-being. So happy that we've found our family's choice for veterinary care!

Im really bad about remembering to leave reviews for places but there was no way I could forget this time. I got my first puppy two days ago and he’s 7 weeks. This morning I called to schedule an appointment because he did not seem well. They were able to fit me in the same day. Everything from the phone call to the appointment was amazing. The front desk, assistant and vet were so professional and absolutely loving to my pup. Dr Stello explained everything so well and any additional questions I had she immediately answered it thoroughly. It’s very comforting to know he was taken care of by very knowledgeable people. I couldn’t be more thankful for the service experienced today. I left knowing my puppy was taken care of and that he will be just fine! They’re very reasonably priced, you truly get what you pay for. I’ve been taking our dogs to Springhurst Animal Hospital for over 10 years, and have never had a negative experience. Besides having amazing vets, the support staff is caring, patient and loving with the pets. Dr. Keehner recognized an improbable case of leptospirosis in our sweet Daisy and literally saved her life with days and nights of consistently attentive care amid several close calls. Dr. Hankins and his team at Springhurst are the absolute best. They are super responsive, take time to answer all our questions and truly care about the animals they treat. We recently had to put our 13 year old beagle down, and, although nothing could have made it an easy process, Dr. Hankins was super supportive and comforting during it all. For the past 12+ years we have been taking our dogs to Springhurst Animal Hospital. The staff treats our pets like their own & the doctors are fantastic. I can not think of one thing they could improve on. We have had some really sick babies & they took wonderful care of them & held our hands through some difficult moments. Dr. Hankins is a great doctor & one of the kindest people I know. I can't say enough about him. We have used the kennel & groomer as well - both being top notch. All the techs are so loving to our dogs! It makes leaving them a little easier knowing they are well cared for. The front desk personnel couldn't be more professional & helpful. They always have a smile & are willing to help you with what you need. Making appointments to answering questions about medicine. And they have a fantastic dog trainer on site who is very helpful for new puppies or issues your dog may have. He truly is a "dog whisperer"! 5 Stars aren't enough.

We did not have to wait long to get an appointment and when we arrived, checking in (with corona virus standards in place) was very efficient. Literally the best vet experience we’ve ever had in our entire lives. We will only go here from now on. Our dog Freya was in a ton of pain from a urinary infection and needed an emergency surgery. The techs and doctors here throughly explained her diagnosis before and after the surgery. I’m normally really picky about details but I was blown away by the level of knowledge and professionalism given to us from Springhurst. They kept Freya for monitoring an additional day and even sent us videos of her stepping outside for some fresh air to ease our minds after the surgery! Dr. Lee Hankins is a very compassionate, knowledgeable Vet. He has excellent communication skills and he's been our go-to for the better part of a decade. The Springhurst staff and family of Vets are very personable and helpful. They have smiles on their faces, explain the services rendered and always repeat medication applications, if necessary. Conveniently located on HWY 22 near Gene Snyder, you would be doing your pet a disservice if you are looking for superior veterinary care and don't opt to go there.

They are very friendly and their professionalism is off the charts. I didn't know this, but they have boarding and also professional grooming, all at one location. Lisa Keehner is one of the many doctors there, who are all fabulous people! They are all at the top of their game, which is to cure your furry family members. So, in closing, please if you love your pets, take them to Springhurst Animal Hospital to get the top notch care your fur babies deserve. I hope this helps to let people know how important it is to have computers, so when service is off the charts you have somewhere to look to see if the service you are looking for comes highly recommended. Some people have indicated they think Springhurst is a bit pricey. It might be but I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Love Springhurst Animal Hospital.all of the staff is so caring and love all animals. We love Dr Keehner . She has been amazing to work with. She helped us save our daughters dog when she contracted leptospirosis. It’s been 4 years and the pup is still going strong. She was with us when we had to put our beloved GSD to sleep and is with us now keeping our new GSD healthy as she has PEI and needs enzymes with her food so she can digest it. They have wonderful boarding facilities and the staff takes great care of the animals.

I have 2 German Shepherds and one has Wobblers Syndrome and had a bad relapse last year and Dr. Keehner and all the staff were so awesome and caring!! They really helped him (and me) get through it. After a round of steroids and acupuncture and now he's back to his normal happy healthy self!! I recently moved here and after his surgery I was concerned about finding a good vet, well I found a really great vet and won't trust the care of any of my German Shepherds to anyone else!! I took my ferret to Dr Keehner (sp?) at Springhurst for a consultation and ultrasound. The doctor and staff were very professional and knowledgeable about my ferret, not every vet is. She examined him and did the ultrasound. We discussed her findings and her recommendations. She listened to my concerns and answered my questions. I would recommend her to anyone who has a ferret. If I lived in Louisville I would take my babies to her.

His recent surgery recovery period was a challenge for him & me....but we are back to normal now. No problem with surgery itself, my little guy posed a delayed healing issue. I first went to Springhurst Animal Hospital on a Christmas Eve 5 or 6 years ago with a dog screaming in pain but with no obvious illness. I chose them because they were close to my house. Dr. Stello and her team were quick, kind and thorough. After I told Dr. Stello I was a NICU nurse, she spoke to me as a medical professional, which I always appreciate, and when I told her that I did not want to spend $4000 to go to a neurosurgeon but I didn't want my dog in pain, there was absolutely no judgement. We discussed ALL the alternative options and she was very patient with my many questions and my tears. I am happy to report that with some medications and some patience, my little guy did very well! I am a rescuer and always have a rotating cast of dog characters in my home, many of whom come to me as seniors or with special needs. They offer a multiple dog discount that helps a lot with a herd like mine and even offer alternative medicine such as acupuncture and cold laser. EVERYONE at Springhurst Animal Hospital is gentle and kind with my pups and my family, from the ladies at the desk to the techs to all of the doctors! Even though I started with Springhurst Animal Hospital due to proximity, I return because it is so obvious they truly care for my pups. I will continue to see Dr. Stello, Dr. Keehner, Dr. Hankins and their team to care for my fur babies, as well as recommend them to anyone and everyone that I can!

Friendly, clean but expensive. They offer military discount. I've had great visits but I've also had some so-so visits as well. They do not give any type of refund, not for medicine or even unused medical equipment so, once you leave with something, it's yours permanently even if you find your pet is allergic, or unable to use it. I do not have any experience with the grooming as of yet, however I have boarded my dogs there, and again, it's pretty costly for what they give you. If you want extra attention for your pet you will pay for it, and there is no one there overnight.

There is some amazing story about our dog Dasha who was so lucky to meet because of our daughter the great Doctor Lisa Keehner and her wonderful Team from the Springhurst Animal Hospital. This Hospital has the unique acupuncture theraphy which helped our dog to stand on her paws again and walk. Dasha couldn't do that more than one month because of the problem with her spine. The prescribed medication didn't work for her as well and just after six sessions of acupuncture which was made by Doctor Keehner our Dasha started to walk much better. So, we are so thankful to have our beloved dog again and we appreciate the Springhurst Animal Hospital's service a lot. Thank you, thank you, and thank you again. You did the Best!

I love Dr Keener but I have to say after using this vet for many years (We started in I think 2009-2010). They have always done well by my animals and Although pricey it was worth it for the quality of care. That being said while we have always loved the place, since they went corporates prices have gone up crazy amounts and basic convinces have gone down. For example if your pet needs a human medication they refuse to call it into a pharmacy. I need to drive all the way to them (20-30 min drive for me) drive to a compounding pharmacy drop off the script (20-30 min more driving) Then drive home (30-40 min) then drive back the next day to pick up the meds. IF they called it in I could make 1 trip to the pharmacy and pick the meds up. They tend to fill ongoing scripts for crazy short periods of time causing you again to drive in all the time to pick them up when they could do a 90 day supply easily (This is about dogs/pets on lifetime meds). Basically they charge you exorbitant amounts of money for services and then make things as inconventant as possible for you. I want to recommend this place based on the staff but the corporates greed is bothersome. We have 2 senior animals and once they are gone I am not sure I will continue at this vets but that remains to be seen
