Our family loves Lyndon Animal Clinic! Not only do they take excellent care of our pets, but they also manage to stay on schedule and keep appointment times, which is SO helpful to our busy family. We’ve rotated through multiple doctors and all of them are so kind and take time to listen to all of your concerns. Having the online portal to book appointments also makes it easy to book an appointment when it’s on your mind rather than waiting until they’re open to call. I also find that their pricing is very reasonable compared to others in the area.

I feel that they handled my concerns with care. They took great care of my dog and made sure he was comfortable before and after his surgery. Each person I’ve met with has been thorough and took time to explain his care plans. The facility is always clean and staff is very friendly. I highly recommend!

I can't thank the team there enough. My yorkie started passing only blood in her stool and was feeling horrible. I was so nervous and grief stricken since my male yorkie passed away at 12 years old a year ago. My daughter called and we were told to bring her right in. What other clinics would have drug out to a very costly bill, this amazing staff and wonderful doctor quickly discovered the root of Livi's condition and treated it with the best medication. So thank you to Lyndon Animal Clinic, their staff, their amazing doctor and the other patients who were present to cheer me up and lend me a paw to hold.

Lyndon is the best clinic around. Dr. Thompson was my vet for 2 years and was always so good with chocolate lab. My dog was sensitive to new medicine so he would let us try medicine in 5 day increments to test them. Most vets supply and charge a full month. He was patient with my questions, very knowledgeable, and always mindful to not run up my bill with useless test. I have recommended him to several friends who now love Lyndon as well! I will always recommend!

I have been going to this vet for over a year now with my pet beagle, Leo. Luckily, he hasn't had any big issues but the vets, vet techs, and receptionists are all so so nice. Sometimes it can be chaotic with all the different animals in there that are probably not used to being in a "scary" vet clinic, but I think everybody handles the animals very very well. My dog has never had a bad experience. If anything unpleasant happens they always make sure to give him so much love and treats. Of course, he loves those treats! They work hard to make sure that he associates the vet as a good place to be and so far, he absolutely loves the vet. Everybody working in the vet industry has to deal with so many hardships. Let it be the sick animals they can't seem to help, seeing pets not be able to get help due to lack of funds, or hateful owners. It is so hard on them, and I just want to say that I respect everything you do for me and all other animals out there. You work so hard every day. Thank you so much for everything you have done.

Took my 1 year old pit for his first chiropractic visit with Dr. Gawley. He has been having leg issues that I couldn’t figure out for almost a month now. I have a cat that was really sick! The vet I had just started taking him to didn't have available appts for him and did not offer to work him in , even after I told them I thought he was dying. I asked my son who he used and he told me Lyndon Animal Clinic . So I called them and told them the same thing. They worked us in quickly! I thought my cat had one issue and I was wrong. We didn't do blood work the first time and that was on me , kinda expensive , but can you put a price on your pets life?? They worked me in a second time , did the blood work and figured out what was wrong. I now have medicines for him and he is recovering. The Dr we saw was very kind and understanding, Dr Matt Thompson . He even told me to call and update him in a couple days and he actually returned my call and listened to my concerns. I can't even get my own Dr to do that! I appreciate that I was able to be worked in when nobody else would take us, this probably saved my cats life ! Yes , I called 3 other places and no one offered to work us in . Thank you Lyndon Animal Clinic, I appreciate your service and so does my cat😺!

Love LAC and have been going here for years. The Vets are amazing and truly care for my critters. Dr Townsend, their newest vet, has been an amazing addition. They talk me through all my questions and concerns. My only issue is they seem to be overbooking. They are triaging in the waiting room because they don’t have enough rooms and it is insanely crowded stressing out many pets. The wait times are getting longer in that crowded room as well. Not sure how they address this, but they have been great to me and my animals over the years so I’m sure it’s just some post pandemic hiccups.

We've taken all of our pets to Lyndon for years now and we recently adopted a small mixed breed and he has some anxiety issues. Dr. Townsend was able to call us, without having to bring him in. We explained what he was experiencing and doing, and we had our dog begin a medication that helps him curb being super anxious and destructive. By far the best vet I have been to. Very friendly and genuine staff. Ive seen every doctor here and they are all great. They are always very respectful about being upfront with prices on everything, declining anything and everything has been reasonably priced. When my dog was just a few months old they got her seen literally 10 minutes after I called about her having been attacked by another dog. Had the owner checking her out right when I got there. On non-emergency visits I have never waited more than 5 minutes to be taken to a room. When debating timing in having my dog spayed they were happy to give information about health benefits of early age spay vs waiting until around 2 years without pressure to choose either option. When it was necessary for my very old and sick dog to be put to sleep they got us in a room immediately and had me walk out through a side door so I didn’t have to walk through the waiting room with her. Being a regular/established client they let me call to pay later which was very helpful for me given the emotional situation. Today they got my dog in just three hours later due to breathing concerns. I wasn’t able to get off work so my boyfriend took her and they were happy to talk with me over speakerphone as if I were in the room with them. I can’t recommend them enough.

Dr. Gawley was great working with us and a potential cancer situation with our dog. She was easy to talk to, open for questions and helped us get through it. After surgery, Fifi is doing great!! Update… 12/29 so disappointed. Our dog had an emergency on Wednesday 12/21. Tried calling Lyndon on 12/22 and 12/23. No answer, voicemail full, no message indicating if they were closed or not. All of the emergency vets had 5 hour waits. I understand being closed for the holidays, but would have expected a message indicating that when you call.

Lyndon Clinic and their team are caring and compassionate. My dog was acting strange when I was here in town visiting a friend and they were able to get me in day of. Dr. Thompson and his team took their time in diagnosing and treating my dog. My first visit but definitely won’t be my last! I brought 2 of my dogs in one for a medical problem and one because her nails were so long she couldn’t walk right but they never made me feel bad or embarrassed. Don’t get me wrong I DID feel bad and I WAS embarrassed but not because they made me feel that way. They were kind and understanding and not at all pushy about getting me to consent to things I couldn’t afford. Love Dr. Oliver. Sometimes when I go to the other vets, perhaps it’s their experience level, they tend to want to run tests. Dr. Oliver has a plethora of experience, I appreciate that he does not go straight for a lot of testing. Plus he’s had a gazillion animals of his own and so far has experience most all symptoms in his animals I’ve seen in my pets. Highly recommend Lyndon animal clinic.

I could tell they cared for my dog like he was one of their own pets. He needed a few surgery procedures and they were very transparent with what they were doing, even going as far as calling me halfway through the procedures to make sure I knew and approved of what they saw they would have to do once they got in and looked around. They also did follow up calls after his visits to make sure he was doing okay. I had to take him back in a day after his surgery because he was sick from the anesthesia. It was a different doctor there that day than the one who did his surgery but everyone seemed to be knowledgeable and on the same page about his case and his care. I know this is what everyone says, but I don't trust my dog with just any vet's office because I had a bad experience with one in the past. Lyndon Animal Clinic is fantastic and I recommend them to anyone!

This place is amazing. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Our dog hates going to the vet and being touched by strangers but they worked with me to find a plan that works best for him and us when we visit. They continue to work with me on new ideas each time. We’ve been turned away by other vets because he’s such a handful but they have been incredibly understanding and willing to work with us to give him the care he needs. 11/10 couldn’t recommend this place more highly. Lyndon Animal hospital was referred to us to treat our dogs knee injury. The staff was pleasant and efficient, getting us in relatively quickly. Dr. Matt Thompson spent a lot of time with us (even though we were the last appt of the day) providing the details of the surgical options and the pros and cons of each. He was straightforward but patient with our numerous questions. Ultimately we opted for the lateral suture surgery which was successful. Our pup is currently recovering and we continue to be very impressed with the entire staff at Lyndon.

My precious cat had an emergency situation and I was turned away in person at Shively and Metropolitan. I called countless vets and continued to be turned away. Why is it so hard to find emergency care for sick animals? It’s frightening. “Short staffed” but why? It’s very bizarre. I’m SO HAPPY I decided to call Lyndon Animal Clinic. They were booked, but offered to have me drop him off and receive treatment between other patients. From personal experience - I can say too many veterinarians are more focused on draining your pockets, instead of the care of your pet. That is absolutely not the case here. The care was thorough, it was sincere, and the charges were fair. My baby is better!!!! Thank you so much!

We discovered Lyndon Animal Clinic (and Dr. Oliver) in the middle of COVID when our beloved chihuahua, Sammy, started chewing relentlessly on some hot spots. We were also having trouble getting him to let us trim his back nails. Knowing he would have to be taken from the car and carried into the Clinic by a technician was daunting for us because we adopted Sammy six years ago and we have never left him with anyone. We didn't want him to be afraid BUT we also wanted him to get help. We could not be more pleased with our decision to go to Lyndon. Everyone there is caring and professional and we adored Dr. Oliver. I was really hoping Sammy wouldn't come out wearing "the cone of shame" and he didn't. Dr. Oliver brought him out to the car and stood and talked to us quite a while about what to do for Sammy and things to look for, etc. Recently we took Sammy back for another nail trim and another check up for coughing and AGAIN, we were incredibly impressed and relieved. They took great care of him. I find their fees to be very reasonable and of great value. We have found our home with Lyndon Animal Clinic for certain and we highly recommend them.

Over the years, I’ve been to a few vets in Louisville. None of them overly impressed me or made me feel like I found the right vet until a couple of years ago when I went to Lyndon Animal Clinic. I was trying to get a second (I think it was actually 3rd) opinion for my cat who was having problems with his teeth. I met with Dr Thompson and was VERY impressed with how he handled Foxy and how knowledgeable he was regarding what could be wrong with my baby. The other vets I went to prior really had no clue of what could be happening. He ran some tests and he ended up solving the mystery. Dr Thompson was great at answering all of my questions and taking such good care of him. I feel like we discuss my kitties care and health together. He never tries to pressure me to do unnecessary tests or procedures and gives me options (when available) to keep costs down. He has me call him to check in and give him updates so we can figure out next steps. He has even called me on his day off to discuss my kitty’s issues. My mom couldn’t believe when she was visiting and Dr Thompson called me to discuss things. In fact her exact words was “I really wish he was a people doctor”. I love the fact that he doesn’t believe in stressing the animals out by bringing them in unless it is necessary to see them and is willing to talk about things via phone. It really means a lot that he goes out of his way to care about the animals he treats and go the extra mile. The staff is always extremely nice and friendly too. I’ve not had a bad experience in the few years I’ve been going there. I moved about 30-45 mins away but I will always continue to make the drive to take my babies to Dr Thompson. I am thankful to finally find a vet that I trust and feel confident that the animal’s care is the most important thing. I highly recommend Lyndon Animal Clinic and Dr Thompson....all day....everyday!

Arrived on time. There was only one other patient in the waiting area, a sweet, shy, young dog. She and Pumpkin were interested in each other but the curiosity never got beyond a nervous curiosity. My point is that it was pretty chill in the waiting area. We were shown to an exam room by a tech after about 10 minutes which is a lot shorter than our previous vet clinic. The tech weighed her and took the information about the reasons for our visit. Besides Pumpkin’s medical issues, it was our first visit after moving here. She left and about 5 minutes later the vet came in. She performed a thorough, standard exam while we talked. Both she and the tech were gentle with Pumpkin. Consequently, Pumpkin was relaxed and cooperative. After the exam, the vet and I sat and discussed her findings and my questions. She gave me her opinion and options for treatments. She made sure that I understood the treatments and possible risks. Pumpkin has been on a steroid for IBD for about 19 months and she recently ingested a few bites of shrink wrap, a plastic used in moving. They hadn’t received the records from the other vets we’d been to, so she will contact me if there was anything after she has a chance to review them. I’ll go back and take my other two cats. Everyone was pleasant and professional. There were no excessive waits. I liked they way they treated Pumpkin and the thoroughness of the exams and the consultation. I feel as though I can trust that this is the normal for this clinic and I can’t think of anything else that I would have wanted in our first visit.

I cannot recommend Lyndon Animal Clinic enough, and Dr. Oliver in particular. While I can sum it up by saying that their care is outstandingly compassionate to both pets and their worried parents and their treatment top-notch, I'd like to share my story to show you what a tremendous difference I have seen with this vet vs. others I've been to. My dog's story: I first took my dog to Lyndon several months ago. She had developed a suspicious lump on her leg, so I called and scheduled a visit with our nearest vet at their first availability, which was several weeks out. In that time, the lump stayed the same until one day it expanded several times in size over the course of 2 hours. I rushed my dog to Shively Animal Clinic for "emergency care" and still had to wait 7.5 hours, only for them to look at her for quite literally 5 minutes and tell me it was too inflamed for them to excise, treat, or aspirate (the test for mast cell cancer, which is a big concern for lumps like this on a dog her age). They wanted to send me home with just a 14 day supply of Prednisone and told me to call them in two weeks to see if the swelling was even down enough for them to "revisit the situation". I pushed and pushed until they finally agreed to draw blood for a CBC, but still refused any other treatment. I was furious. It felt like the vet had no sense of urgency or respect for my time or concerns. I called around to other vets, who agreed my dog most definitely needed to be seen sooner than 2 weeks from then, but had no immediate availability due to COVID-19. Finally, I spoke to a friend whose father had been a vet: she referred me to Lyndon. Thank God she did! They were amazing from the get-go. I was told when I called that Lyndon was booked for the next 2 weeks but the receptionist still asked me to explain my situation. As soon as I did, she placed me on a brief hold and came back to tell me that the doctor who heard about my dog's situation would come in early so that she could be squeezed in the very next morning, as time is of the essence if it were an MCT. We were so grateful! The clinic is handling appointments very safely and carefully during this pandemic. I was able to wait in my car and had a virtually contactless experience. One thing that I LOVED was that the vet himself, Dr. Oliver (who also owns the clinic), came out to speak with me at length instead of sending an aide. He explained that I was right to request an immediate fine-needle aspirate (FNA) and confirmed my suspicion that her swelling should not have prevented the first vet from taking this action when I took her in. His confidence and evident experience really put me at ease. Thank the lucky stars, my dog's FNA came back normal, but Dr. Oliver agreed with me that the lump was inflamed even if benign and was causing my dog significant irritation, so he volunteered to come in the next day ON HIS DAY OFF to surgically remove it. Ultimately the surgery went smoothly, the biopsy came back clean (it was an infected benign follicular tumor), and my dog is OK, thanks to Dr. Oliver. Had we left the lump, it may have continued to grow to a size where they would no longer be able to get clean margins for surgical excision, and the infection could have spread. My dog's recovery process was not smooth, unfortunately. She has severe anxiety and could not leave the incision site alone. She tore off every cone and muzzle we tried and managed to rip out both her stitches AND her staples. Dr. Oliver was able to get her in the very next day to repair the incision at nominal cost. When she finally got them removed, there was no cost at all. Overall, though the surgery was NOT cheap, it was a darn site cheaper than most vets and a lot less than it would have been if we had waited and let the issue become more complicated. I have been thoroughly impressed by this vet's compassionate treatment of all his patients, and I will be a lifetime customer going forward.

We have been taking our animals to Lyndon Animal Clinic ever since Dr. Oliver came there. Before that, we went to Dr. Oliver when he was associated with Stonefield Animal Clinic. We have been impressed with the humane way Dr. Oliver and the rest of the staff treat both their four legged and two legged charges. We know our cats will get excellent treatment and we will be told what the problems are in a factual, but gentle way. Kudos to everyone on staff.

Amazing staff, not a ton of pets though. Which can be nice too - less stressful for the animals and less overwhelming for visitors and employees. Very clean. It bothered me a bit they didn't check ID's to verify ages/identifications before allowing guests to handle the animals but I am also used to VERY strict adoption processes and clinics from another state.

First time cat parents learning the ropes. Had first visit with Maxi and Stevie. Cassidy and Dr Townsend calmed our cats and us and ensured our pals had all needed to protect them.
