I’ve been going to Johnson’s Animal Clinic for over 35 years. They go over and beyond with their service. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. In my opinion, it doesn’t get any better than Dr. Bode. He is very compassionate and helpful with all aspects of my pets care. Little Max is our new Shihpoo baby and loves Dr. Bode!

We got a new pup Cocoa and when we received him the breeder didn't tell us that he had a prolapsed rectum we got him on Wednesday today before Thanksgiving and we had to take him into the vet that Friday Dr Reynolds pushed it back in and then it came out again on Monday and we couldn't get it back in so I called them Tuesday and let her know that it came back out again and she scheduled him for surgery Wednesday Dr Reynolds was concerned about him being so small being put to sleep but he did really good he said he was a trooper she's a wonderful veterinarian and all the staff at Johnson's animal clinic are really good polite and they said they love cocoa I recommend anyone that wants a good veterinarian go to Johnson's animal clinic on Breckenridge Lane

Russ is a happy and healthy customer. The entire staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Russ can be a bit feisty but the staff handles him very well. They always take care of him. The prices are very fair and the service is the best in the city. If you’re not going to the vet here then shame on you.

Everyone at Johnson Animal Clinic is wonderful! Our cats are always afraid when they go to the vet, but they are very sweet and gentle and patient with them. Which makes me feel a whole lot better! They take such good care of our fur babies!

Front desk is always friendly and the vets are kind and considerate. They've dealt with my car not starting and still worked with me to get me and my cat in the same day even though I was about an hour late. I felt TERRIBLE but they were kind and understanding, and not once made me feel bad or like I wasted their time. They've also dealt with my fear reactive dog: the vets spend the time to let her come to them and interact with her to make her visit less stressful. The last time we visited, she was HAPPY to be there and excited to say hi to the vets. Even now that we've moved a little farther away, they still get my business and recommendation to anyone looking for a compassionate and friendly vet clinic!

Dr Body and the staff all are friendly and caring of our pets and all of our extended family pets for the past 25 years. The work hard to fit everyone in at their appointed time but do let you know if delays are occurring because of emergency. Great place to take your pet

Unfortunately we started going to Johnson Animal Clinic when we had to put our dog, Lola, down. They were so sweet, and although it was awful, they made us feel as comfortable as possible. Since then, we've been going with our dog, Dixie, who is now 3. I now live in Nashville with Dixie, but we always schedule our vet visits when we're in town, because I don't want a new vet! They are awesome- always so friendly, and go out of their way to help (Dixie needs a medication to help with urinary incontinence - and they had extra that they gave us last time!- every little bit helps). We always recommend Johnson to anyone with pets!

I first called Johnson Animal Clinic as a new resident of Louisville. I will say they have been great taking care of my 4 legged son Kane. Always accommodating, as I have a wild one who doesn’t do well with other animals. They have eased each and everyone of my concerns as my dog gets older and eases my dog mom anxiety. Not to mention they are pretty reasonable with prices and never charges a arm and a leg for annual shots. Huge thank you to the staff at Johnson Animal Clinic

My Bella is usually very anxious when going to the vet but everyone was so kind and caring❤. They went out of their way to make her feel special, to help her stay calm, and they allowed her to give all they kisses she wanted to give without shying away. Everyone at Johnson is so polite and helpful. I have seen Dr Hite for years and she is amazing. She truly cares about your furbabies and explains everything to you. She doesn’t just do stuff to charge you money; she only does if it is absolutely needed. She lets you as the furparent make the decision best for you and only offers advice about it. They are awesome with communication as well. If your baby has a procedure they call and check a couple times as to how they are doing or if you have any questions.

Best place to take your animal hands down. The staff was great to work with and Dr. Bode is by far the best vet in Louisville and the surrounding area. I was super skeptical to take my dog in to get a tumor removed, but at Johnson Animal Clinic they took care of every bit of worry I had. My experience here was beyond wonderful and I will be referring them to everyone I know with an animal. I live about 45 minutes away but I went ahead and drove out to make sure I was at the best vet my puppy could get. Thank you so much for your expert support.

Johnson animal clinic is the best place to bring your pet for medical care. They have a new office, which is beautiful, and very experienced veterinarians who take the time to address all of your concerns. Lastly, their prices are not that expensive for all of the services that you get and they do a great job with reminders. They even have a link on the website to buy preventatives and other medication online and can do a reoccurring autoship option. Everything is seamless with them which as a medical doctor I couldn't appreciate more. I can basically go on autopilot and they will make sure my dog is getting everything he needs and more. I never get home and say oh shoot I forgot to get tick prevention medicine or I forgot to ask about his teeth for example.

I brought my kitty comet there today after my dad recommended it to me. Comet has had multiple trips to several different vets with urinary issues and this place understands the stress and amount of money i’ve had to go through recently with him. Which made my visit there wonderful. The staff is friendly, explains everything they’re doing, and made sure to answer my questions and my concerns to their full extent. Not to also mention the prices are extremely reasonable. Comet will now hopefully be a happy little boy!

I've been taking my dog, Arthur, to Johnson Animal Clinic since he was 8 weeks old. He is now 7 years old. I've had other dogs when I was younger but I've never had a dog like Arthur. He is very nervous and afraid of just about everything and anyone. Everyone here has been just great with him. He's really scared around men, until he's had a chance to get to know them, so whenever I make an appointment they always make it with one of the female veterinarians. He's still nervous but not as bad. Even though we've moved and are not as close to their office I would never think about changing vets. I really trust them taking care of his medical needs and his nervous issues. 🐾🐾

I’ve been taking my dog to Johnson for about six months and we could not be happier with the care provided. My dog has a lot of health issues and is there frequently and the staff are always very friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are a lot better than our previous vet. Johnson even squeezed us in last minute for an emergency even when they were about to close. Dr. Murphy has been amazing with my dog and all of her health issues. We have also seen Dr. Hite who was great as well. It is very easy to get appointments here compared to my previous vet office.

We moved to Johnson after a hard go of it with another vet. Our cat was fearful of male doctors and the doctor in general so we weren't sure how he would warm up to the people at Johnson. The people who work at JAC are very good with animals, in fact, they're great with animals. They take the time to soothe them, touch them, and listen to pet parents who have needs and concerns regarding their pet. They wait until a pet is comfortable before working on them. Unlike past clinics, I don't feel like they're pushy when it comes to selling brand name things and having treatments cost an arm and a leg. Our cats love Johnson Animal Clinic!

This place is a breath of fresh air after my recent experiences with other local vets. I've had 2 appointments with them so far. My most recent appointment was at 9:30 this morning for some booster vaccines for my kitten. I arrived about 10 minutes early and went on inside. I was in a room by 9:25 and finished with my appointment and back in my car by 9:50. They were quick, kind, and professional. They took the time to make sure that my kitten had done alright with his vaccines from a couple weeks ago and even gave him a nice treat after his shot today. They weren't overbooked, stressed, or rude like many other vets in the city. I highly recommend this vet and will be bringing all of my many animals here in the future!

Unfortunately on this trip to the Animal Hospital we had to have one of our pugs put down. She was 11 years old and definitely part of our family. I will say that the doctor showed so much empathy during our time of loss and made us feel as good as we possibly could during this rough time. I think that's what sets Johnson Animal Clinic Above the Rest when the doctors and staff treat you like part of the family and they actually feel the loss as well as you you know you're at the right place.

I brought my cat into the clinic for a wellness exam and to get her caught up on her shots - something I should have done last year, and just never got to because of the pandemic. I faced no shaming by staff, which I've received in the past when I was late getting her shots up to day. All the techs and the vet were so welcoming and friendly, and made the visit as close to stress free for both my fur baby and myself as possible. I will definitely be bringing my senior cat in for his next wellness exam and getting him updated on his shots too.

The staff at Johnson Animal Clinic is wonderful. I bring all three of my pets here. Appointment requests sent via the form on their website are always answered within 24 business hours and the new building is really nice. Be mindful though that their office is in a busy location in Hikes Pt. If your pet is scared and doesn't willingly walk into the vet building, consider carrying your pet or parking on the back side of the building by the fence. My dog got scared and got out of her harness in the parking lot. She ran into oncoming traffic. I thank God she didn't get hit. When she ran away one of the staff members ran with me for several blocks to help look for her. That's how caring they are! She is fine and back home now, I just want to give a heads up because it was very scary. We have a front leading harness now and she will be carried into the building from now on!

This is the 1st time I've been to their new location & it is so spacious! There are separate areas, almost like little alcoves, so it helped my scared kitty. He didn't have to see that many other animals, so that helped his stress level. They also take payment in the exam room, so you can leave right after your visit. That was very nice, not to have to bring the cat carrier to the front when people are trying to check in. That was another helpful thing for my scared cat. The staff is Always so Great & kind. We met a new Dr & technician & they did so well with our sweet Omar♡ Thank You for such a Great experience!

I have fostered many dogs and have been through a number of spay and neuters in my time. Probably pretty close to 50. I have never seen an incision done as neat , small, or as perfect as the one performed by Dr. Hite. I was expecting a much larger incision since it was done on an 80 pound dog but this incision was less than an 1 and a half and very very neat. I am very impressed and highly recommend.

We had our first visit with Dr. Bode today. In order to social distance, they saw our dog in the office but then Dr. Bode came out to our car to talk to us. He was very nice, personable, and thorough. He let us know what all of our treatment options were and was very knowledgeable. Our dogs have been patients for years, but they have recently wowed us by going above and beyond! Our oldest has been having several "old dog" issues and the office keeps managing to squeeze us in. As our good boy is nearing closer to his rainbow bridge, we have been very keyed in on any symptoms that might be end of life indications. Every time when we call up the office they plan a walk up and get us in when they can. All the doctors are so caring, knowledgeable, and clearly love their patients! But please note: the walk up visit must be approached with patience! Sometimes they can get us in at once, sometimes it takes some time between set appointments.

I recently took my cat in for his first ever vet visit. He’s never been a huge fan of strangers but he was an absolute angel at his visit. The staff did a great job keeping him calm. This will definitely be his regular vet.

Johnson Animal Clinic provided our dog Rosie with excellent and compassionate care. Dr. Hite prescribed Apoquel for Rosie’s allergies. As a result, Rosie no longer had to use steroids that had been prescribed by other veterinarians for years. Dr. Bode performed Rosie’s euthanasia. We had it done at home. Dr Bode reassured us that Rosie would not feel any more pain than the injection of a needle. Dr Bode went out of his way taking his time to explain the steps of the process and what to expect. He also gave us as much private time with Rosie as we needed. Dr Bode even gave us a significant credit from Rosie’s left-over medication. We made several calls to the clinic prior to this difficult time and everyone we spoke with took the time to fully explain the euthanasia process and demonstrated kindness, and empathy. We cannot emphasis enough how comforting that was. We also received a sympathy card from the staff and veterinarians with handwritten notes and signatures – very nice.

I had been visiting another veterinarian for over 30 years. We all approach retirement age and my vet made a referral to a reputable provider. I visited and was told I needed to call for an appointment. One was offered later the same day. I chose 8:00am the next morning; however, my time was not wasted. The friendly and courteous clerk asked about my dog's history. It was helpful that I provided a copy of her shot record. Upon arrival the next day, check-in was easy. I hardly settled in my seat before the veterinarian called for me. He introduced himself and actively listened to my concerns. After a thorough examination, we discussed his observations. A sample of blood was drawn and sent to a lab. Later that day, the vet called me with the results. We made plans for additional lab work, at no cost, and the administration of new medication. Needless to say, I was treated with professionalism and respect. Since I own 3 dogs and 3 cats, I am certain I will return.

I couldn’t compliment this veterinary office enough. We wanted a place closer to our home as our cats get very nervous in the car like most do. We started taking our kitties here in 2017 but we have only needed shots (We’ve had to make a trip to another for ER Services). Unfortunately, one of our cats started showing signs of illness so I made an appointment for the next day. Dr. Hite is absolutely awesome! She was very caring with my baby and listened to me ramble off my timeline and all my questions as my OCD self kicked in. She knew exactly what was wrong. My kitty has weather related allergies. I got a prescription from Dr. Hite and my kitty has been taking it for 3 days (on our 4th). On the third day her symptoms have about 98% cleared up. This of course makes us very happy as I’m one to freak out if anything is abnormal and our cats are our world. Dr. Hite may very well be one of the nicest veterinarian/lady I’ve ever met! So caring and nice. I’ll be requesting her for each appointment from now on. All in all, this is a great caring place to take your pets. We’ve seen the other doctors there and they were very caring and nice as well, I wouldn’t hesitate to have our babies seen by them if Dr. Hite was unavailable. One other thing to add and sorry for such a long review but when I came in with my nervous kitty there were several large dogs barking in the waiting area. For some pups the vet’s waiting area is like socializing opportunity lol they do what they do and I don’t hold it against them or blame them lol but I asked if there was a place we could wait away from the pups since my cat was so nervous. The office staff was very nice and let us sit in the pet food room and brought a chair for me to sit in. That was so awesome of them to do that. These people really do care! Highly recommend them!

We saw Dr. Body who is good but I’m a little upset that he put flea medication on my cat without asking me. The folks at Johnson Animal Clinic are stellar. They make time for you if you’re in a pickle without compromising their existing appointments/keeping everything on schedule. In my time going to JAC (about once a month at least since I’ve gotten my puppy), they’ve run behind only once on a Monday evening by 30-40 minutes and that’s still better than any other doctor I’ve been to and the staff is always kind and patient with my pup. I plan on coming to Johnson Animal Clinic for as long as I can.

I give Johnson Animal Clinic 10 Stars! We lost our best friend Robben (Best Papillon ever) in March 2016 to cancer. The Clinic team, Dr. Murphy, Dr. Hite and Dr. Bode were fantastic throughout the entire ordeal. They all showed a tremendous compassion and helped us keep Robben comfortable during his last moments. It touch my heart when the Clinic made a donation in Robben’s memory to the Arbor Foundation. My family and I greatly appreciate the amazing gift! Animals place heavy paw prints on your heart! We will never forget Robben, he was an amazing dog!

Johnson Animal Clinic is amazing. Their vets are knowledgeable, thorough, very friendly, and I think Johnson is more cost efficient than other vets. They have worked me into their schedule numerous times when my dog had had an unexpected semi-emergency; they care about their patients and will do whatever they can to help. My dog is just over 2 and Johnson is the only vet she's ever been to and she loves them too (especially Dr. Julie and Dr. Bode).

I absolutely love this vet! I'm a first time pet owner I got my puppy on December 10th we setup a puppy appointment with them for December 15th However over the first weekend with my puppy he fell sick. I called them Monday December 13th because Sunday he became lethargic. They got him right in Monday morning our puppy had parvo. Dr Bodie and the rest of the staff walked us through how to care for him at home along with bringing him up for fluids daily for the first 4 days. It was a very rough 72 hours but without their guidance our 8 week old puppy wouldn't have survived! Dr Bodie even called us from his personal cellphone number after ours to check on our pup and make sure we had his number if we needed anything through the night. Our puppy is now 20 weeks old and healthy and thriving. This will forever be our vet! Our total bill for antibiotics, anti nausea, parvo testing, daily fluids and supplies to help him was less than $400 from what I've read and heard that's incredibly cheap to treat a dog with parvo.
