I'm visiting from out of town and needed an appointment for my dog on a Sunday morning. The vet here agreed to take a look at her between appointments even though they were fully booked. Everyone was very friendly at the hospital, and the vet called once he'd had a chance to look at her to go over any questions I might have. Super appreciative that they made room to see me, and I'd have no problem recommending!

First timer...I REALLY don't like the inability of the owner to go back for the exam. While I understand COVID protocols (assuming that was the reason), at some point I hope this changes as it could be a determining factor as to whether I would return. Having a phone conversation afterwards with the vet is not the same as face to face interaction during the exam. That said, the vet was happy and helpful answering questions during the post-exam phone call.

I have been taking my cats (Ellie and Lizzie) to Laurel Pet Hospital for vet services and boarding since I got them 13 years ago and they have taken exceptional care of them. When one of them passed away 2 years ago I received condolence cards from the receptionists, nurse, doctors and boarding volunteers which brought me to tears. I have a new rescue named Willow and she's also made an impression on everyone there. I couldn't recommend Laurel Pet Hospital highly enough for the level of care and professionalism I always experience when visting.

A great experience with my senior cat Bobo. They fit us in even though the schedule was packed, and we had bloodwork results and a treatment plan the very next day. Dr. Ebling was also responsive via email when I had questions. I appreciated the Covid protocols in place to keep us all safe and healthy. Dr Ebling is always amazing and makes sure we're not doing anything unnecessary (which is a problem i had at my kid's old vet). I just got both kids a nail trim (which is so much safer in my opinion than going to a pet store) and they were brought in and out so fast! This place it great!

Dr Todd was amazing, he was highly recommended to us by several people and we travelled over one hour to see him and it was well worth it. He really knows how to handle dogs, how to relate to them and their owners (me). He was extremely thorough and did not do all types of unnecessary tests as do other vets. We've been to vets in West LA, Pacific Palisades, Beverly Hlls, Marina del Rey over the years and he is far above all of them. He is our vet for life!!! I also thought his fees were too low. He is more valuable than that, especially when compared to what we have paid other vets. Now for the important stuff: Our beloved Maya was markedly improved in one day, it was amazing and she has a new wonderful life as a result of Dr Todd. I wish he would take care of me!!!

We've been going to Laurel for years. Every vet I have seen is caring and accommodating without up-selling you on unnecessary procedures. Dr. JD Calsyn is the best taking care of my dog's IBD. always available to calm my nerves when he has a flare-up.

Love Dr Todd Calsyn at Laurel Pet Hospital. His dad was a vet also--really cares and doesn't recommend unnecessary tests, treatments, etc. the staff has responded promptly to my requests for vaccine records, inquiries, etc.

The vet is very responsive via email within 24-48 hours. Front desk staff is less than ideal. I am always asked to pay after a visit, on one occasion I returned for a new visit and was asked to pay again for a previous appointment they stated I had not paid for. It’s very impersonal, get in and get out. The vet techs don’t throughly explain what was done, if you ask them they may have to go back and ask the vet. Parking is free if you find some in the back of the building. The visits are now as of 8/1/22 $98 fyi plus whatever meds or vaccine cost.

This has been one of the worst weeks of my life, but the folks at this hospital made it that much more bearable. Their care for my cat in her last few days is something I’ll remember forever. Nearly everyone I interacted with was empathetic and compassionate. They spoke to me with patience and answered all of my questions. They did everything to ensure mine and my cat’s comfort, and while I hate the fact that I had to say goodbye, I am glad that I did so under their care. I only wish I had known about them earlier so they could have been my cat’s full time vets from the start.

It was a good health check up visit providing the safety precautions undertaken during this pandemic. It’s always uncomfortable to not be able to accompany our pet into a doctors appointment (pandemic distancing precautions) but you did a good job with the communication and quickness throughout the visit. Using the Pet Desk app made scheduling the appointment and receiving a reminder effortless. Dr. Ebling patiently answered all my questions and concerns via phone while I waited in my car in the parking lot. We’ve been coming here with our dog for the 5 years, since we got him as a puppy. This pandemic visit has been the quickest one yet. Thank you!

The hospital found a time within 25 hours to see my dog. I waited maybe ten minutes upon arrival. They were kind and professional. The veterinarian introduced himself via phone and then in person behind the reception desk. He called the next day--Saturday--to report on the bloodwork, took plenty of time to answer questions and made me feel valued and assured. I recommend Laurel Pet Hospital highly.

UPDATE: Things are definitely better, but I still have some concerns regarding the beloved techs that take such good care of my dog.. PREVIOUS REVIEW: I have been going to the vet hospital for years and years. This last visit was definitely better than what I've experienced in the past. Normally wait times are horrible, reception and techs are understaffed. I do love the doctors, but have always felt support staff were not well taken care of. I'm hopefully that has changed. I'll be keeping my eyes open and if wait times increase again, or I notice support staff being over worked, I will change my review to reflect that.

Dr. Todd is AMAZING. The staff up front is great. Wait time has not been too bad at all. I do not recommend the other vets. Dr. Todd is great! However did not have good experience with the other vets. We will keep coming back for the staff and Dr. Todd - I cannot recommend this approach to Laurel Pet Hospital enough, wonderful.

They've always been there when I need them for my cat, whether I needed to get in quickly or just bring him in for a checkup. I've never had to wait long in their waiting room. Needs to be more efficient and organized. Also, sometimes it's hard to get a hold of someone over the phone and when the phone call gets answered, they automatically put you on hold without a greeting. The process of boarding your pet is always time consuming. It's never quick.

Updating two years later: Dr. Calsyn and everyone here are amazing. Incredible customer service and compassion. I am so thankful for Dr. Calsyn and the team at LPH! My dogs got into a fight and I needed urgent care for my dog. LPH was able to see me right away. I was expecting it to cost a ton due to it being an ER visit and LA. I was shocked when the cost was cheaper than my vet in Atlanta! Wonderful service too! I am so grateful to have found a good and affordable vet here in LA.

I generally don't write reviews, but I am grateful to this vet for being so kind and thorough with my sick puppy! Dr B. took an extra precautionary test, without even telling me, to rule out a virus i never thought my puppy had (a very serious disease). She is clearly a thorough doctor and that is what makes a good doctor. She researched the best emergency care facility for my puppy and called them in advance. i paid a deposit thinking i was going to bring my puppy back the next day, which they were happy to accommodate, and when i didnt come back they didnt even call me to nag me about it. when i called back to pay a few days later, they said they were worried about my puppy and not about me not paying at the moment. I highly recommend them and i will definitely come back to them.

Took my kitty to get neutered and they were very nice and very professional. My kitty got neutered and they also took care of a few other issues and now my kitty is all good. Great vet with very friendly staff. Sometimes the wait can be a little long — generally about 30-45 minutes following the appointment time that you actually see the vet. But regardless of that, I really trust them with my two dogs more than any other vet :)

I feel that the dog-tors are really honest about what needs to be taken care of now versus later, and they understand budget concerns in that sense. Life-saving care! After 4 months of testing and no diagnosis at another major facility, our dog was dying. We saw internal medicine specialist Dr. JD Calsyn who quickly diagnosed an extremely rare condition confirmed by an unusual test from the Michigan State Lab. Within days of taking the prescribed medications, our wonderful goldendoodle was better. Progress has continued and he's back to himself with excellent energy and a ravenous appetite.

Honestly, the emergency visit for Munch was quite pleasant, efficient and quick....considering it was a visit because she was attacked by her much larger brother. I am very pleased I was not pressured into getting any costly "tests" and the best news was that her eyeball was secure and not in danger (her eye lid was bit and is healing nicely now). I took my dog here for 14 years until he passed away this year at 17. All of the staff was incredibly attentive, patient, and they're in it for the right reasons. In fact, his specific vet, Dr. Ebling will alway try to avoid and unnecessary procedures that other hospitals will recommend. He's been a doctor so long, he usually knows what is going on and would rather not put an animal under extra duress with blood work or x-rays unless absolutely needed. Now I take our recent adopted cat, Goldie, to Dr. Ebling who treats her so well and takes such good care of her! At Laurel Pet with any doctor, I totally trust them and know we're in good hands.

It started when I called them in a panick at 8am in the morning as my dog had a really high fever and was shivering all night, they were able to squeeze me in right away and ended up having to keep her there for 2 days. The staff was nothing but kind and understanding as I stood there crying my eyes out having to leave my dog there, they did a great job following up on every step of the process making sure I knew how my dog was doing. Dr. Mar is fabulous, and the staff are very caring and responsive. My dog has had quite a few scares. She was bitten by a rattle snake last year, and after making the mistake of going to Cahuenga Pet Hospital first (they didn't believe me it was a snake bite... she could have died from their lack of judgement), I rushed to Laurel Pet Hospital because they carry antivenin. They took such good care of her, and worked with my budget. They never do more than necessary, and compared to other pet hospitals I've been to, I think their prices are reasonable. Go here if you want your pet to be well taken care of!!!

I have nothing but kind things to say about Dr. Drayton, Dr. Ebling, and the staff at laurel pet hospital. Dr. Drayton is a sweetheart who is incredibly knowledgeable and open minded. He sits and listens to you without rushing the appointment. He is thorough with his examination and orders and makes sure you understand what's going on. I have so much love for him and his gentle soul. Dr. Ebling is warm, laidback, and always has a bright smile. A few years ago my sweet old cat was diagnosed with kidney disease. In the years after her diagnosis we spent a lot of time in and out of Laurel Pet Hospital and unfortunately last month we lost that battle. I always found it easy to make appointments, and even when I had to make emergency walk in visits the wait was never horrible. When/if your animal gets hospitalized they allow visits whenever they are open and were always patient with me when I called several times a day for updates. The prices are fair, and the quotes are true if not slightly over what I actually ended up getting charged (always good to pay less then expected!!). The parking situation isnt the best but you can usually find metered parking along laurel/SMB. Dr. Drayton was so gentle when we eased my little girls passing. The whole experience, while being incredibly heartbreaking, was eased by everyone's gentleness and understanding. The whole staff signed a sympathy card. It's hard to find kindness like that in LA.

I've been bringing my dog to LPH for 8+ years and I've always had a great experience. He has seen various doctors and vet techs and honestly, they've all been wonderful. Sometimes when I read the poor reviews I have to wonder about the attitude of the pet owner; some folks carry anger and poor manners around like they're proud of being rude, and there's that saying "what you put out in the world comes back to you in spades." I recommend LPH to people with new dogs and cats if they don't have a vet they're using. Even the people at the front desk who are fielding 20 calls a minute and have to deal with random people walking in and staring at them until they get some attention are sweet and polite- I don't know how they do it!

They must have hired and/or re-trained their people because they're now very friendly and much quicker at check-in/check-out than they used to be. The vets we've seen, Dr. Mar, Dr. Todd, Dr. Fishman and Dr. Hu, have all been really wonderful - compassionate, friendly and knowledgeable. I recently moved to Brentwood but still schlep across town to Laurel Pet as I'm so happy with their service. I highly recommend them.

Laurel Pet isn't the least expensive in West Hollywood but the doctors are worth spending a but more for your pet care. Their facility is always clean and the rest of the ever rotating staff are, for the most part, accommodating and professional. Parking can be a challenge, however if you don't mind a short walk, it's easiest if you park on one of the adjoining streets off Santa Monica Blvd.
