I had an emergency situation with my daughter's guinea pigs and they were able to get me in right away, within the same week. Friendly staff and not a long wait time. Only complaint is that they were pretty pricey for my budget. Also, one nurse gave me a medication needed for one guineas however it was open and used. I completely understand things happen, but I feel the medicine should have been free instead of discounted since the medicine was used. Other than that, it was a solid exotic animal hospital.

Not only do they see your typical dogs and cats, but they also see exotics! I came here for one of my guinea pig's check up appointments. Appointments were available sooner and consultation fees didn't cost an arm and a leg compared to other exotic vets, which I appreciated. Everyone I spoke to, from front desk to the vet techs and the doctor, is super friendly. Dr. Navia has been my go-to vet for all my piggies. She is sweet, truly cares about her patients and their owners, and takes the time to explain everything and answer my questions. I'll be bringing my piggies to GSAH for future care and check ups.

Dr. Hussein and staff quite simply are the most caring, loving and brilliant people in veterinarian industry and hold a very special place in my heart. The exam there is $89 which is a little pricy. Also I was still charged for physical examination of my dog even I said that I only needed two vaccinations. Besides that everyone is friendly and helpful.

Was a long time client of GSAH, but when costs began to climb and we had many animals, we tried other places. But finally returned to Glendale Small Animal Hospital because the service and attention there was superior to the other hospitals we tried. The vets are caring and so are the other staff. The Glendale Small animal hospital was the best. After going through a loss of a bungie dr. Quan walk me through the steps of the care for my other bungee, she gave me advice and had me feeling comfortable with leaving my beautiful birdie with her for a exam they were quick and affordable. I absolutely love Glendale Small Animal Hospital! I have been going here for awhile and have been taking all my different pets here, from my hamster, turtle, snake, chinchilla, to my dogs! And they take such good care of them. The employees are always so gentle and just so sweet with all my pets. I can see that they really care for their customers pets. We started going to GSAH after receiving a high recommendation from a trusted friend. We have not been disappointed. While our mature cat Nero had not needed extensive care, it has been nice to know that we could receive the routine health care for Nero, plus occassional room & boarding for Nero while we took time away from home without worry about his care. Over the years GSAH has been the place to go! Very recently we had an emergency with Nero, the first health urgency in the 18+ years that we've had him. The problem involved swelling on the left side of his face. On a geriatric cat you have to be extra careful about the procedures used to diagnose conditions that may have multiple causes. Our GSAH doctor and his assistants not only took care of Nero through this ordeal, but the team also made sure that we, Nero's family, were kept informed and comfortable through the whole process. The photo on the right was "Before" and the next "After- wearing his cone" The cone keeps him from scratching his surgical wound/drain.

Love this place! I brought my budgie there on Saturday morning. When I walked in, I saw many dogs barking around. It was okay for me but I was concerning my budgie if she felt unsafe staying there so I told them I'd stay outside and come back on my appointment time (it was just like 15mins from the time). They were kind enough, told me they understood the situation and could give me a separated room so my budgie can feel safe. Staffs were super kind, and the vet was super chill and sweet. She answered every single question that I asked. I'm super happy to find this hospital. +They have parking

I do not know who needs to hear this, but if you are looking for an Exotic vet, please do not hesitate to call here. Dr. Quan is absolutely amazing. I have brought my rabbit here when he was having issues and Dr. Quan took the time to explain everything to me. I have been to 2 other vets - The last vet I went to (only because I was able to get a sooner appointment.....NEVER AGAIN) was pushing surgery on me before even getting the X-Ray tech to examine the X-Ray taken from my rabbit. I then needed a urine test for him so ended up taking him to DR. Quan after all....not only for the urine test but also for a second opinion. To make a long story short, what the previous vet was reporting was not fully accurate, and although my rabbits issue will need ongoing X-Ray follow up with Dr. Quan, the $6,000 ultrasound and surgery, combined, which could potentially kill my rabbit (what the previous Vet was insisting on), is not needed as of now and God willing, will not be necessary at all. I am so beyond happy I found this place and an exotic vet I know I could trust. Thank you Dr. Quan and team!

Took my hamster today with no appointment. My hamster was seen by the doctor. Sadly he didn't make it, he pass away but doctor was so friendly also the staff. Great place. This was my first time going. It was a little pricey for what i went but it was worth it for my daughter's hamster.

I'm so glad I went out of my way to come here! I brought my pet rat in that was clearly having issues, and they were so great. They are very transparent about costs and set a reasonable rate for a consultation. The vet called to talk to me and spent over 30 minutes going into great detail and answering all of my questions. I was so touched by the compassionate service. I will for sure use this place again if needed.

GSAH is incredible. We’ve had some bad experiences with other vets and were so glad d to find GSAH. The doctors are amazing (we’ve had both Dr. Chiang and Dr. Ahmad). They’re honest, knowledgeable and incredibly kind. We have an older rescue dog with many issues and trauma responses, including aggression, and the compassion and confidence with which they treat her there is such a boon. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

I would only recommend coming here for initial shots and maybe nurturing for the low price. I experienced when I took my cat here for another concern their communication was so poor I had to get a new vet. I never even talked to the vet directly. Only a tech and my questions were not answered. When they diagnosed him with several things instead of calling me and making sure I understood treatment I didn’t hear back for a day. They are too busy to pick up calls and they just aren’t really professional in my experience when it comes answering questions and concerns. Go to affordable animal hospital instead. Their communication is 10x better

Excellent experience as always. From making an appointment to the actual exam and overall visit, everything was great. I have tried a few clinics in the last but have stuck by this one for good reasons. Staff are always very nice and professional. From scheduling an appointment to taking care of my dog's needs, I have always been happy with their services. Also, the facility is very clean and well-kept. The veterinarians are always honest with fees and what my dog needs to have done vs. can live without. This is very respectable, as I don't feel like they are taking advantage and running an I genuine business. I feel as though it is a clinic that cares for its patients and does not only see dollar signs.

I have been going to GSAH with my four year old corgi for about two years. They've always taken care of him during his health scares and routine checkups! I just started taking my new kitten there as well and have received the usual reliable and high quality care. They really care about their clients here, especially Dr. Chiang! She is super responsive and has helped my dog through a nasty parasite and paw injuries.

I tried this animal hospital for the first time for our ginnie pig (which for those of you don't know is considered an exotic pet). The vet who handles the exotic pets here is very knowledgeable and caring. She spent a long time with us so we understood what we needed to do and that our little one was on the road to recovery. I will definitely go back again. The cost compared to Pasadena Exotic Animal Hospital is better. For a 1st time visit I was charged what Pasadena wanted to charge me for a follow-up.

We were able to get an appointment for our rabbit with mastitis within four days. Protocol was easy to follow, we filled in paperwork, our pet went in, and we went for dinner. Diagnosed, treated, and medicated; we went home with clear instructions and a follow-up appointment. Vet techs were all friendly, helpful, and caring. Our rabbit was annoyed afterward but not fearful, which is, I suppose, the best outcome! We will bring her back for further treatment and also grooming (she is a French Angora).

We’ve been taking our two small dogs here for a couple of years now. The doctors and staff are always really professional. They don’t ever recommend anything invasive until it’s absolutely necessary for the health of my dogs. The front desk has been a little difficult to reach during the pandemic. Nothing too bad. It sounds like a lot of people keep trying to call at the same time because I kept getting a busy tone. But they do respond very quickly via email! Tip: They offer a special discount for dental cleanings in February!

I have been using the Glendale Small Animal hospital for years, and I am extremely happy with their services. Dr. Hussein is a fantastic doctor, knowledgeable, skilled ,compassionate, courteous, and very prompt at answering questions and giving tests results. The staff is also great, in particular Adele, who is helping me every time with such a graciousness and expertise that it is a pleasure just interacting with her, and also the groomer, Craig, is very good and does a great job. Lois, the manager, is very helpful, and Zac, in the reception area, is also great. They have state of the art facilities and medications, and I would not go anywhere else even if they paid me. to do so. I wholeheartedly recommend this hospital to all the pet lovers in LA.

Moving from Florida to California, & then the pandemic, it took us a while to find a vet accepting pet-patients. Lucky for me this place happens to be nearby my home. While I was surprised by the post-pandemic experience of handing over my Chihuahua over to the staff outside their entrance on the sidewalk, about an hour later I received the phone call outlining the details of her wellness exam. While I was happy to hear she’s a healthy pup, he did notice some tumors under her armpit that we didn’t really notice. Bittersweet, knowing is half the battle. The doctor being aware that it’s expensive, you can tell he was asking discovery questions to figure out where we stand approaching this financially; I told him to advise us as if money were not an issue. We are more concerned with how she might react to anesthesia, but we do plan to proceed with whatever next steps. It’s just what we needed to make sure we’re doing what we can for our fur-family.

I've never been so impressed with a vet. Our Budgie (small parrot) had a seizure and we were able to get him in with Dr. Quan, their exotics and avian vet. Not only were they the best option for us, they were also the most affordable! That is rarely a combination. After his evaluation she told us what our options would be and was obviously very knowledgeable and friendly. She's great! This place is in high demand for a very good reason, so if it takes you a few days to get an appointment, or if the receptionist asks you to hold for a bit, it is very much worth your time. Highly, highly recommend!

From routine needs, to broken bones, bouts of cancer, and the inevitable process of saying goodbye to an aged pet, they have provided us with exceptional service. Dr. Hussain (senior) has been our primary veterinarian, and we are excited to know his legacy will continue with the addition of his son to their staff. Doctors Quan and Chiang are amazing, as is the entire staff. I have used their boarding services many times, have never had any issues, and Craig is a gentle and attentive groomer. My cat went in very ill and we were given same day appointment. The care he got and is continuing to get is absolutely wonderful. The vet called me multiple times to give me updates and ask about tests. I was so reassured every time he called. When we went to pick up our cat , he spent at least 20 more minutes showing us the x- rays and blood work. I’m so impressed with the care we got. Highly recommend!! And we are hopeful our cat will heal soon.

i'm so glad this place is located close to me!! i had taken my sick budgie (lethargic, sleeping in day, fluffed up, green and watery poop) to a vet located in a different city. they simply looked at her (literally just looked at her face and butt) and told me she was fine. she was clearly not fine! and her poop was green and watery but they kept insisting her poop was fine. the total bill was $130. my budgie was still sick so i went to glendale small animal hospital this time. the difference was like night and day. everyone was so kind. the doctor took one look at her and told me yup she's sick. and she was concerned about her poop as well. she thoroughly examined my budgie, including doing a fecal test (thankfully came back negative) and prescribed her two medications. she also left me voice messages asking how my bird is doing and gave me additional information about the medication and how to give it to the bird. the total bill was 220- including an injection, two types of medication, fecal test, and a general check up for my other budgie (i bought him in just in case the illness was contagious or something, thankfully he's fine). not bad at all!!! and my budgie is doing a lot better already!! thank you so much and i'm so glad i came here!

Amazing little animal clinic I've been too! Staff were responsive and took care of all my pet's needs and were so respectful. Staff handled the COVID response in a great way, taking in clients and not letting people in the clinic and coming to our cars. The Doctor who saw my pet check him for everything and was able to fix the problem. A+++ Will be there again if needed.

It was my first time at this clinic, I was extremely pleased and can not recommend this clinic enough. First, making an appointment was easy and effortless. They were able to give me an appointment the next day. Second, did not wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. Unlike other clinics, there were not 10 patients there waiting. Thirdly, Dr.Hussain was amazing! I can’t say enough great things about this vet. He was kind, extremely knowledgeable , patient and honest. He took his time to explain things to me, was gentle with my kitten, and did not try to overestimate like other clinics do. Every service here is extremely reasonably priced if not under priced. After spending thousands of dollars at previous clinics with my former pets, I’m glad to finally call this place my go to vet clinic from now and until forever. Thank you !

Everything seemed to go through so smoothly at this animal hospital even with Covid going on. The veterinarian was thorough with his explanation of the diagnosis of my little dog and took his time making sure I understood everything. The vet techs/assistants were also very kind and quick on getting my dog to be checked in/out. When everything was all said and done the price was a lot less than I expected too! I had taken my dog to another location before with the same exact diagnosis and medication. However, at the other location it was $60 more.

Lovely experience taking my brother's guinea pig here during this pandemic. Average wait time when calling is about 7 minutes, so just be patient. Nothing negative to report. The bill was a fair price. This will definitely be his new go-to vet. Thank you all, Bruce will hopefully continue to grow old with us.

This was my first time at Glendale Small Animal Hospital, which had been recommended to me by a neighbor. I have a guinea pig and Glendale SAH is one of the few clinics that still treats "exotics." Front desk receptionists were extremely nice, the facility was well organized and clean, and Dr. Quan was very knowledgeable and helpful. I came away feeling relieved and confident in the plan to treat my pet. I'm very happy with my visit and am thinking of transferring my other pets to Glendale SAH as well.

When I started having difficulty getting an appointment with my longtime vet during the pandemic, they suggested Glendale Small Animal Hospital. I’ve now become a loyal customer. Both Dr. Chang and Dr. Ahmad provided compassionate care for my 17 yr old good boy... even though I knew, and they knew he was nearing the end of his time here, they understood I wanted to give him more time, if that was possible to do without suffering. My guy is gone now, but I’m still grateful for the extra months he had with me, thanks to GSAH. Dr. Ahmad has also listened attentively and recommended a new test to diagnose IBD for one of my other dogs who has had terrible gut issues for 4 years. Two nights before a test that was just a little over $100, I spent a very large sum of money at another emergency vet care facility with no real solution. Dr.Ahmad is thorough, goes above and beyond and leaves no stone unturned when it comes to standard of care, With Dr. Ahmad’s guidance and expertise, my girl is doing so much better. It’s almost a miracle! And last but not least, I want to give a shout out to the vet techs and others at GSAH. You are the gateway to care and you are most appreciated too!

It seems to me that most vet services in LA County are in it to put their kids through private school. How else explain the extra X-ray? the expensive meds? the $1,500 bill for removing a kitty's baby tooth? Not here. These folks are attentive, responsive, totally pro -- and fair. No mind-exploding bills. No crazy extras. Just care, loving, attentive care -- or so I read it from my initial visit. I'm going to stick with these folks, and suggest you give 'em a try. We take our dogs to the Glendale Small Animal Hospital to be groomed by Craig. He is very specific in his grroming of each animal, for their comfort and with their best interests in mind. He is excellent and tells you in advaance exactly what he plans to do for their best grooming experience. Our one dogs does not like anyone other than us. Craig has successfully gone to great lenghts to make friends with our fearful dog. We are extreemly pleased with his efforts and highly recommended him !!!

Dr. Kwon and Dr. Hussein have taken superb care of my cats for the 12 years I've been going there. I always have confidence in this facility and my experiences have led me to trust them implicitly. Well, I haven’t actually visited the clinic yet. I live in West Hollywood and am under quarantine, so my son took my cat, Jelly, into the clinic for me. However, I have been communicating by text with Carmen, who is on the staff at the clinic, as well as Dr. Ahmad by phone. They have both been of great assistance in keeping me informed of the results of Jelly’s lab work as well as explaining to me the nature of her problem. I appreciate the care that was given to Jelly while she was there, and I’m confident she was in good hands.

I have seen 3 vets at GSAH, but mostly the fantastic Dr. Quan, an understated, thoughtful, dedicated practitioner who loves animals and will go the extra mile to see them through any trials and tribulations. The staff also loves their patients. Though I have not tried it yet. they connect also with animal acupuncturists who others in the waiting room have sworn by. We have been clients of GSAH over 20 years with our dearest cats. Highest recommendation!

We have been going to this vet for years. Every member of the staff that I have dealt with has been friendly, helpful and caring. The veterinary team is as well. I highly recommend Dr. Quan. She is kind, patient and takes her time to listen to your concerns about your pets. She answers your questions thoughtfully and asks questions to make sure she understands what is going on. What I like most is that she gives you options and doesn't push the over-the-top expensive treatment if it is not necessary. Their prices are reasonable as well. I recommend this veterinary clinic to anyone who asks me.

I have been coming to GSAH since 1991, for both my own companions (dogs, cats and rabbits), neighborhood feral cats, as well as the dogs I foster. When you walk through the door it has a friendly, family vibe, it always smells good and our dogs aren't afraid to go in. In fact, they look forward to greeting their friends on staff so the experience for all of us is much more relaxed and enjoyable. In terms of medical attention, the wonderful doctors on staff have been there for us every step of the way whether it was managing chronic conditions such as sinusitis, arthritis and renal disease; terminal cancers; a sprained wrist; or treating a feral cat with special care. They have given us valuable advice, suggesting supplements and other non-drug therapies such as K-laser and acupuncture (with the incomparable Arlene Gillo also at GSAH). I can't say enough good things about this hospital and everyone who works there but I think the fact that I am still a very satisfied client after 28 years speaks volumes about the quality of care, compassion and love with which my furry family are treated. As a final note, in case you are considering becoming a client, over the years I've referred many friends, colleagues and adopters, and each of them have also been very satisfied.

I currently live an hour and half away but took my pup here to get vaccinated because I've had really good experiences here. Near my home, all the vets require me to schedule a wellness check up and then get the vaccine(s). Glendale Small animal hospital may be more pricy than some places like the Pasadena Humane society (PHS), but there is practically no wait (every time we go to PHS we have to wait at least half an hour to get our pets vaccinated). But here, they have you sign in, wait a minute or two for the tech to take your pup and administer the vaccines and then they're done.

I have been taking my cats to Dr. Hussein at GSAH for about 8 years now and would recommend him as a skilled veterinarian without reservation. His approach to veterinary medicine is somewhat conservative, which I appreciate. He is cautious and thoughtful, never recommending expensive or invasive tests or treatment unless absolutely necessary. He has an uncannily natural way with animals that I’ve never encountered in a veterinarian before. My cats are strangely calm in his presence, even if they’re getting a thermometer put up their butt! And the few times they have started to squirm or panic, Dr. Hussein handled it with calm expertise. I also have to rave about the GSAH staff (especially Adele!). They are so friendly, accommodating and, like Dr. Hussein, really care about animals. Even though they see many animals every day, they still always manage to make me feel that my cats are special and unique. In general, I love going there since the office is such a comfortable, friendly place to bring my animals. When my cat, Bello, of 13 years, was in his final months and days of life, after being treated by Dr. Hussein in many of his “golden years”, Dr. Hussein and the GSAH staff went above and beyond what I’d ever expect in their showing of support and sympathy. This meant so much to me, since I knew they truly understood how much I cared about Bello and what a great loss it was to me. Finally, I should mention that I’ve never had to wait long to see a vet there or to make an appointment and the prices at GSAH are super reasonable. Often, I’ve gotten freebie samples of products as well—cat food or flea treatment, for example. I highly recommend Dr. Hussein and GSAH in general.

I spent 15 years at the horrible Gateway Animal Hospital until they killed my cat Wolfie. Literally pulled the fur off his neck dragging him out of the carrier. I tried Wayfarers, a small operation run by a single well meaning vet. I didn't feel they were up to speed, but Nemo was accustomed to them so I continued until he passed from old age. But now I regret every year I didn't go to Glendale Small Animal Hospital. They are the perfect combination of cutting edge technology, common sense medical practice, and loving caring attention to each animal on an individual basis. I even adopted a kitten from them,Yankl, and he's the smartest cat I ever had. Even my cat-resistant husband has been seduced and converted by him. Knowing I have a vet that is there for me, for routine care, boarding, and the infrequent special problem has really relieved me of a lot of stress. All the doctors are impressive and communicative, and I'm so glad I finally found a vet I can count on.

I have experience dealing with bladder stones and guinea pigs, so I really felt good knowing that Dr. Quan was knowledgeable about guinea pigs and their sensitive urinary systems. like that they didn't run a series of expensive tests first. It's hard to find good exotic animal vets, so I'm very happy to find a vet who knows about guinea pigs. The staff and Dr. Quan were all extremely friendly. The only feedback I'd give is it would be nice if they followed up in a few days to see how your animal is doing, but they did say to call if there's any issues. Overall, I highly recommend this practice!

Because of extensive medical issues both of my cats have been seen by all three vets on numerous occasions with Dr. Hong (formerly Jung) as their primary caregiver. She has always shown herself to be both knowledgeable and compassionate in their care. I recently had to put one of my cats to sleep in order to end her suffering. It was terribly hard, but the staff treated both myself and my Dorrie with such respect. They gave us time together and surrounded her with love.
