I love this animal hospital. My puppies have been patients for a couple years now. I have a 15 year old dachshund & my biggest worry is getting overcharged @ the vet due to his health issues. The Dr. was polite & punctual on my options for the best & most effective as well as cost affordable treatment for my boy. He has a follow up next week in fact. I know my puppies are in good hands here. Highly recommend if you want the best care for your furry family member.

Not sure why it cost so much to spay or neuter a cat, but their prices of the other services are great! They have great customer service as well and helped me a lot with their constant communication when my older cat passed away in March. They actually care about the animals and the owners.

I definitely recommend West Russell Animal Hospital. Everyone on staff is very friendly and they were able to get my guy in on a Sunday for an emergency visit when few other places in town were open. Their prices are very fair and they didn’t try to push a any unnecessary tests or treatments. Dr. Dawkins was very knowledgeable and took great care of my Buster!

I had a small starving and severely matted stray dog show up at my house. After 4 days he was still sleeping outside my front window, I decided to get him checked out by a vet. 5 other facilities did not have any availability for a week and West Russell Animal hospital was able to get me in the same day. They shaved him and took really good care of him and all of his 7.2 pounds. I think we will keep the little guy now.

Dr Benson and the team there saved my dog's life. My family and I are extremely grateful and even though it was expensive I know that nobody else would have done the procedure any cheaper. Regardless the treatment he received was priceless and I should mention we were turned away from our previous vet where we had taken him for his entire 8 years.

I have a very aggressive French Bulldog and it is very hard to go to the Vets, so I’ve only gone in absolute emergencies. The team at West Russell are absolutely amazing! They have saved my dogs life, twice! They are very upfront, and I appreciate that.

I really like the vets here (they are friendly, compassionate, and know what they're doing) and using Pet Desk for appointments is very convenient, but the real-life customer service could use some improvement. The wait times are extraordinarily long. I recently came to pick my dog up after her spay and waited for 2 hours in the waiting room. They have also forgotten to call us with test results on multiple occasions. I'd give the place 5 stars if they could get a handle on these types of issues.

The staff at the front desk is hard working even when the waiting area seems overwhelmed. Dr. Bensen is great and really cares about us and our pets. Nani's surgery for Cherry eye was successful and her overnight stay was a relief for us. West Russell animal hospital called the following day checking in to see how Nani was getting along. Good folks, even as I witnessed them dealing with difficult owners. We're very happy with our move to this facility.

Saturday was my first visit as a walk in, no one else would take me. It was urgent, my 14 year old cat has not eaten or drink water for close to 2 days. For my first visit I was impressed, very nice facility and the staff was very nice. They had to keep my pet overnight. West Russell Animal Hospital will be my pet's new doctors.

My pup was seen in a timely manner for an eye infection while we were traveling. Dr. Kyra Campbell was great with him. They processed my claim through Trupanion. The visit went smoothly and I would recommend this place to anyone!

I took my daughter’s 10 mos old brown lab, Loki, due to vomiting, diarrhea, fever, lethargy, and cough. We saw Dr Stinson. She was very kind and personable. She diagnosed him quickly and had a plan of action. Loki was put on fluids and antibiotics. He stayed at the vet for a couple of nights. My daughter and I went to visit him during his stay. It was great and comforting to know that someone was there 24/7 to give us updates on Loki. Loki continues to get well. Dr Stinson saved his life. We are forever grateful.

I took my two year old French Bulldog in as a walk in patient this past Sunday. I called Saturday to schedule the appointment for Sunday, however on Sundays they only do walk ins. The front office staff member was so kind and helpful, and not once treated me as if she didn't have time to help get my account set up. I showed up at 8:00 as they only take walk ins on Sundays, and I was put in a room within minutes of my arrival. The technician came in, asked a number of questions and took detailed notes. She took Sophia back with her, who was examined by Dr. Stinson. Dr. Stinson came in the room and explained what she thought was the issue and the best way to treat Sophia. Aside from the fact that Dr. Stinson took such good care of Sophia and made sure we had a plan in place in case her eye didn't heal, she spent quite a bit of extra time discussing in detail my other French Bulldog puppy who has liver issues. Dr. Stinson showed how knowledgeable she is in this area, and was understanding and compassionate about my concerns. My experience from the first phone call with the front office staff, to the end of my appointment could not have been a better experience for me. Without out a doubt, I would recommend West Russell Animal Hospital.

They took amazing care of my dog after she got a broken jaw. The vet techs were kind and professional and the doctors answered all of my questions. The doctor kept me informed on everything they were doing and made me feel confident Bella was getting the best care. They truly showed Bella love and she is recovering nicely. Currently you must schedule your appointment ahead of time on their website or by phone, and when you arrive you call from the parking lot and the staff comes out to consult with you and take your pet. Owners must remain outside the facility at this time.

I'm generally happy with West Russell. The app makes it easier to schedule appointments. This last appointment disappointmented me a bit. I walked in with Blake to check-in for my appointment which I arrived 15 minutes early. The blonde girl at the front desk immediately said that they were very busy and if I could wait. So I sat down and waited. People were coming in and leaving, no employee acknowledged me so 45 minutes later I go up and ask. It appears as if they forgotten about us then put us in a room. The very first visit they had done the same. We had sat in our car for over an hour after I had checked-in through a phone call. I can't explain how frustrating this is. I brought Blake in twice this month spending approximately $300.00 We're going to move to South Henderson and I had already planned on staying with West Russell but this last experience is changing my mind.

I would highly recommend West Russell AH. It was my first time taking my cat to them and everyone was professional, informative and nice. My visit was just for vaccinations so they took Gracie and said they would give her the shots and bring her back out. They did this timely and explained exactly what was done and where the shots were given if any issues. Everything was fine, my cat acted like she never even went to the vet. A couple days later I received a questionnaire to rate them and it also asked if I had any suggestions to make my experience better. I gave them the highest rating and said they were great. I mentioned that my not being able to go back with my cat made me anxious but I assumed this was because of it being a post covid world. Not a complaint but since they asked what would have made my experience better I mentioned it. I always try when I get a survey to be honest with what I feel and have never heard back when I make a comment. Today I got a call from the manager saying she saw that I gave them 10 stars but she also liked to read all the comments and wanted to talk to me about what I said. She explained how they normally handle things, why and said I could definitely stay with Gracie if that is what I wanted. She said she would put a note on my account and when I make an appointment to just mention I would like to stay with her. I am very, very appreciative of her actually reading what folks say and then taking the time to call me. In this day and age this does not happen often if at all. I find this very impressive along with everything else I experienced and that is why I highly recommend them.

I can't say enough about this veterinary office, the staff is always so caring and willing to listen. I took my pup there several years ago when his health was failing. Although, I was told it was time to let me him, I didn't feel pushed to make the decision, so I didn't chose to let him go. Later, when he did pass, the staff assisted me with the arrangements needed. They were so caring and understanding, I felt they truly related to what we were going though. Now, in a recent visit with another one of my furry babies, I had the same experience. My pup was sick with an infection: she's very anxious about new people and places, so the vet came to see her in the room, she was so nice, caring, treated her so gently not to upset her. I would definitely recommend this office.

We have been taking our fur babies to West Russell Animal Hospital for at least 5 plus years. We always receive excellent care from all the vets and staff. They were wonderful when our little chihuahua Daisy passed away at 19. They now care for our little Ginger who recently had an extended stay because of pancreatitis. She made friends with all the staff and received a lot of care and extra attention. I highly recommend West Russell Animal Hospital for all your pets care and boarding needs.

I basically have a petting zoo at home. I have followed Dr. Benson for the past 10 years to take care of my kids (3 Great Danes). She is the absolute best! Compassionate and 100% thorough . We have cats too and the wife will only take them to her. GREAT hospital and Staff. All Doctors here are top notch! I drive a good distance from Henderson, and I never regret it.

Our little guy, Pinky, woke up with a bad limp and was in obvious pain. We called West Russell Animal Hospital and they set up to take him in immediately. Within 25 minutes of my call, he was in the Doctor's care. Fortunately, nothing serious was wrong, and Pinky is doing just fine. We wouldn't trust our 3 cats to anyone else. They've always been responsive, fair-priced and compassionate.

Like any crazy pet owner, I get super nervous about who I take my dogs to for care. I have had my fair share of not so great experiences with vets - but I went to West Russell Animal hospital a few years back and started going again when I moved back to Vegas. I have personally witnessed the girls at the front desk handle each call and customer with care while being understaffed and overwhelmed. After an emergency vet visit I had to come in for follow up blood work and the Dr didn’t follow up with me that afternoon with the results like I was expecting. I was a little frustrated when I called back the next day since the results were important and time sensitive - but another Dr took the time to explain the results to me and my initial Dr called me back the next day and apologized for the miscommunication in when the results would be ready. She took the time to go into detail with me about everything again and when I took my dog back one more time for another draw just to make sure we were all clear - she met me in the waiting room to offer reassurance and answer any questions. We are all human, but I think the humans at West Russell Animal Hospital are a pretty great bunch.

We've only been one time so far but the people are really nice. The vet was really knowledgeable and told us a lot of things we didn't know for our pet. They have two sets of doors that lead to two separate lobbies. One side is for dogs and ones that is for cats to help reduce friction between the two animal sides. Both are labeled on the outside for ease of identifying the correct side. I would definitely recommend this animal hospital.

We needed our pup to be seen at the last minute over a holiday weekend. We tried our regular vet, an emergency vet, a nearby vet, and finally we found West Russell Animal Hospital. The office was very clean, and almost whimsical. The entire staff was kind and compassionate and very accommodating. It was a drop off system, with an afternoon pick up which left us pressed for time to catch a flight, so a friend had to pick up our fur baby. Our only concern was that we never heard from the doctor that day (or even the next two days) on the findings or prognosis. We were given a Rx, but no explanation. However, once we got the call, Dr. Benson took the time to answer all our questions and clearly address any issues. After speaking with her, we were very happy with the experience.

I have been bringing my boys to this location for over 5 years, I have followed Dr. Benson from Southern Highlands and have nothing but positive things to say about her! My last visit was with Dr. Leslie Stinson since Dr. Benson was doing walk in's only & I will never see or recommend that anyone has her as their doctor. She is dense and does not listen. She wanted to do expensive & unnecessary X-Rays and bloodwork for a simple ear infection that he gets every once in a while. She was not listening to me only trying to upsell as much as she could. Then when I asked her how much the treatment would be before she did it she said it would be $40 for them to do everything and was downplaying the price saying it was only $20 extra. I go to pay the bill and my visit was over $200. If she was more transparent I would have went a different route and gave my son the medication myself and save a few dollars. I do not appreciate the bait and switch she seemed like a car salesman! Just very shady and I will never see her as a doctor again I learned my lesson and will wait for Dr. Benson who has a heart and does not try to shove unnecessary treatments down your throat. Very disappointed and it is unfortunate I experienced this since I like this practice and recommend it to all of my people with pets but I would avoid Dr. Stinson at all costs unless your prepared to pay an arm and a leg for things your fur baby does not need.

My dog was bit by something and was having a bad reaction I called around to a few vet offices that would only refer me to their emergency side which of course costs more. West Russell was the 4th vet office I called and they said they could take her in same day without making it an "emergency" visit. Drop off was quick and easy and staff was very professional and polite. I expected her to be there for at least 5hrs since they were squeezing her in during their already booked schedule. She was seen treated and ready for pick up within 3hrs! The vet even came out and talked to me directly when I went to pick her up which I also did not expect. My dog is very nervous around new people and was dropped off with a muzzle to be safe since she gets a little aggressive. When the staff brought her out she was not muzzled and seemed very comfortable with the staff which was very impressive to me since I was not their to calm her when meeting them. If my dog trusts them so do I! Thank you to everyone that helped treat my dog I appreciate everything!!!

I wasn’t there but wish I was as it was the first time seeing this that for what we did think was a small two maybe big emergency for UTI for our for baby Riley. From the moment I called The service was impeccable. The woman on the phone helped me so much, the vet was great from what I hear my husband was there the day they saw her and even got on the floor with her loved on her which meant so much and showed the passion and compassion this team has. Well oiled team. Busy and efficient! Thank you! Another big thing is the vet was going to call us the following day and she did even after hours to report Riley was OK. Dr Dawkins is THE BEST. She took her time and made sure to answer any questions I had. Even if I repeated my questions. She not once seemed in a hurry or tried to rush me. She even sat on the floor with Rocky to give him a little bit of love and to show me how to tell if his stomach is bloated. She definitely seems one with the animals. Very kind and very clear. Took my Olde English Bulldog in for a neuter. Dr. Kuku explained the entire procedure detail by detail. She explained all the cost in detail so there were no hidden charges or anything unnecessary. I just moved to Nevada recently and I have been on a lookout for a good animal hospital for my two babies. So far I have been to two that I was very displeased with. Now that I have found West Russel Animal Hospital, I don’t need to look every again. I have never had customer service that great at a hospital before. They are so kind and caring and very efficient. I feel like I can trust my doggies with them and not have to worry. They are a little bit pricier then the previous two hospitals I’ve been two , but in my opinion, their service is worth it. They are the best animal hospital hands down.

This is gonna be a little long but I think it's worth the read. My dog Luna came to me ten years ago emaciated, covered in ticks, and scared. We bonded instantly and had wonderful adventures together. She's been with me through every up and down, every milestone, and a move to Las Vegas from out of state. Right after she turned 9, Luna went blind and developed diabetes. We started bringing her to see Drs. Benson, Kaku, Dawkins, and Campbell shortly after and I've never had such a positive experience at a vet's office. They loved Luna and treated her with such loving care. A few days ago, Luna's health took a turn for the worse and we had her hospitalized here. Drs. Kaku and Benson took excellent care of her but unfortunately it was just Luna's time. Dr. Benson and her wonderful techs (I apologize I can't remember their names, I was pretty distraught at the time) gave us a comfortable place to be with her for the end, gave us as much time to say goodbye as we needed, compassionately explained what to expect, and carried out Luna's end of life care so gently and with so much empathy. Luna's passing was peaceful and painless and honestly such a horrible situation could not have been handled any better by the staff here. Both techs hugged me on the way out and told me that Luna will always be with me and I cannot properly express how much that means to me. My partner and I want to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts. This has been such a hard time for us and the way you handled it made all the difference.

My dog was extremely sick due to diarrhea wouldn't stop. I called several Animal Hospitals, and they would not see him because he would be a new patient. West Russell Animal Hospital staff heard my situation and suggested I bring him in as a walk-in. They created my profile so when I did go in, it would expediate the process. I did go in and they were just the best ever! I waited perhaps 15 minutes and then they came to get by Ozzie and took excellent care of him. He was so sick he was kept overnight. By the next day, I brought Ozzie home and he is doing well. Thank you, West Russell Animal staff, and Veterinarian Dr. Kaku for all you did for my Ozzie. I will definitely recommend you!

We really enjoy this vet. In fact we have coming here for over 7 years. Everything has been great till recently they changed their policies around walk-ins and appointments. Your no longer allowed to walk in for vaccines and if you walk in for any reason your pet must stay the whole day and you are charged a $90 fee. On top of this, they are booking so far out that its really difficult to get appointments. They also don't accept walk-ins at all on Sundays and changed the hours that day to something like 8am-12pm. With their normal closing hours being early and the limitations now... we are going to be switching vets to a team that's more convenient for us. The hours just make it so hard to make anything possible. I don't know if all these changes are because of staffing shortages... but hopefully they fix it for the future so we can come back.

Update: My little Chi died, I am devastated. I took my Chi to West Russell Animal Hospital last Saturday and she was released with water pills. I want answers. 1st time at this Animal Hospital and I am impressed from the receptionist, to the assistants and doctor. They treated my little chihuahua that was experiencing heart failure with so much care and love. I highly recommend this Hospital. Thank you!

I moved from Boulder City to Las Vegas a little over a year ago. I was apprehensive about selecting a new vet since I had used the same vet for over 20 years! I actually visited West Russell Animal Hospital, talked to some of the staff and also to one of the veterinarians. My 2 dogs and I were sold after the first visit. My dogs love people, but they have never been exposed to other peoples' pets. The staff at WRAH are very understanding and we can usually arrange our appointments for early in the morning or to be the last appointment in the afternoon. That saves all of us a lot of apprehension and anxiety. They are a great group of people - Doctors and Staff really care about pets and their people. I'm so glad I found them. Oh, by the way, their facility is squeaky clean and their fees are fair and reasonable.

I want to note I've only taken my new puppy for one visit so far, so take this review how you will. With that said, the staff at West Russell were courteous and informative with my dog's wellness checkup. I appreciate how the vet explained each part of the exam, answered my questions, as well as giving helpful info to aid me going forward with my pup's care.

We had been taking our senior kitty here for several years. As of late, she fell ill and unfortunately, we had to put her down. Dr. Benson was excellent with her. Everyone at the clinic was very professional and good to work with overall. If and when we ever get another fur baby, we will be back. We love this vet office! I have large dogs... (210 pound English mastiff) I moved out here from Colorado and was so afraid to find a vet that understood large animals and they were fantastic. My partners have senior dogs & they went to west Russell for a second opinion and now this is their vet for life as well. They give great solutions and are not pushy on their services. We also recently had a tour for their office and their kennels are very large and warm for the pets. Had a walk-in drop off service which took a little while when dropping off but it was walk-in service so no foul there. The rates were very fair and the quality of care seemed to be more than acceptable. The only down side is I did curbside pickup and waited in my car 1/2 hour after my initial call to let them know I was there. It took a second call to get some action but, other than that, it was a good experience.

West Russell Animal Hospital has a team that truly cares about your pet! Having large dogs has always been tricky to find a veterinarian that understands the large breeds. They go above & beyond for your animals. We have tried other veterinarians in the local area but once we found them we found them to be just another part of our family. My parents have even changed over because of the trust we have with them. They have never pressured us into expensive treatments or tests. They make suggestions and always willing to help with the best interest in the pet. They are always willing to hear what I have read in groups or dr google to explain why or why not the advice I found somewhere else is worth trying and in the end they leave the ultimate decision up to the pet owner without judgment. They also take time to explain what treatments are out there and discuss what options to take and even will collaborate with the other vets on staff to ensure the best treatment is given to your pet. We have had everything from minor stitches to an emergency situation with our senior vet. They work so closely with the emergency vet that they were able to transport our pet for us. They even follow up with the emergency vet and do follow up calls to confirm we have enough medication. When I say they go above and beyond they truly do this for each pet. All of their staff in the front are very helpful as well. It’s always relaxing to go into the office knowing our pets are in the best care. We recently had to let one our pack members cross to the rainbow bridge and the staff was truly accommodating to make sure we had enough time to spend with our pet before and after. I love this vet clinic so much! Everyone has been so kind and warm and professional and caring right from the get go. I'm so sad Dr. Goldburn is leaving. I've taken my cat to him multiple time in the last couple months. She old and frail and can be a difficult patient at times. But Dr G works so well with her! Treats her like she was his own cat. I have been impressed from Day 1 with how well he does with her and she with him. Dr. Benson is very concerned and compassionate about her profession. She had gone the extra mile to try to save my little Tino. Unfortunately the other Animal Hospital had (in my opinion) not been as concerned or diligent in the care of my little guy. The other Animal Hospital (again, in my opinion), waited to long to perform surgery, over 24 hours, knowing he had bladder stones (I gave the Dr. the stones) and was not urinating, he was not catharized after surgery when he continued to not be able to urinate. The morning after surgery, the Dr. told me there was nothing more they could do for my Tino and I should just let them give him as needle and let him go to sleep. I brought him to Dr. Benson for a second opinion, my friend suggested that I try Dr. Benson since she had saved her Great Dane. Dr. Gouldburn, the other Dr. that was working with Dr. Benson, got him urinate within 3-4 hours after I got him there, when he tried to put a catheter in he also found out that Tino still had a blockage which he cleared. Dr. Benson tried her best to save him, she contacted other specialists to get their opinion on what more she could do to help Tino. Dr. Gouldburn, was working with Dr. Benson the entire time and both were in constant contact with me. Even on her day off Dr. Benson checked in on Tino to see how he was doing. They worked on him for a week, unfortunately, Tino was too far gone and his other organs were starting to fail, the humane thing to do at the time was to let him go to sleep, he fought hard, he was only 2 1/2 years old and wasn't ready to go. Dr. Benson is amazing, I have so much respect for her and Dr. Gouldburn. Dr. Benson and Dr. Gouldburn are now working with me to help my Milo lose weight so they can take care of his bad knees. I have so much trust and respect for Dr. Benson and the entire staff there. If you are looking for a kind, caring and compassionate Veterinary Hospital for your Fur Baby I would recommend West Russell Animal Hospital in a heartbeat, The entire staff has been amazing, from the Dr.'s to the technicians, to the front office, they are always ready to help and show concern for my fur baby.

I was looking for a Vet for my dog that wasn't super expensive or far from my house. My neighbor/ friend recommended this place to us and I gotta say we loved it. We took our dog to get his shots and nail clipping. Due to the corona virus it's appointment only and I got it the next day. Once you're there you call in to let them know you have arrived. They come out to get you and walk you in straight to your room. Everyone was very nice and answered all my questions. Once done they took my payment while I stayed in the room. Brought me my receipt and walked me out. Best price!! Great service!!

10/29/2020, Saw Dr. Benson. The staff was very friendly and professional. The lobby and exam room were clean and smelled very clean as well. I was late for my appointment but was still seen right away. Dr. Benson took her time examining my dog and also took her time answering any and all questions and/or concerns I had regarding my dog. My pup had a bad cough which is difficult to treat, possibly COPD. I was given a new combination of meds that I hope will help my pup. Overall the experience was great and I will return here in the future.

I first took my dog Mocha here for an emergency after she got into some food that she's allergic to. They were very caring and prioritized emergencies efficiently, and are very careful about their business practise surrounding COVID-19. Despite being carside, they still let you talk to the doctors that worked on your pup and they offer lots of pricing options so you aren't paying for the most expensive services if they aren't warranted. They suggested I come back 6 months later for a blood work panel for her and the testing was quick and easy. They are very attentive so if you have any questions for the doctors you can email them and usually expect a response back within the day! This is great if you don't know if your pet warrants a visit which can be costly. They are also a veterinary clinic and a hospital, so you can see them during regular hours for no upcharge that hospitals usually require, but if your pet ever does encounter an emergency you can take them in to the same place and they'll have their records already on file and ready without delay, but you aren't compromising with substandard care because they are willing to ship out blood work to better/more-equipped facilities on your behalf. I'll be taking my two dogs here as long as we are living in LV!!

I had my Dutch Shepherd neutered Friday and was extremely nervous but I honestly cannot imagine a better experience. Everyone I spoke with was knowledgeable, courteous, patient and friendly. They answered almost all of my questions before I even asked them. My dog is people tolerant to a certain degree but, by no means, stranger friendly. I was worried about the parking lot hand-off for this reason. However, Dr. Katu came out personally and squatted in front of him while I switched him from his collar and leash into a slip collar they provided. When I handed her the leash, he went with her with no hesitation. By the time I left the parking lot, my nervousness had been completely alleviated. Post surgical experience was just as smooth and exceptional. I will recommend West Russell Animal Hospital to every pet owner I know!

My dogs and I just moved to the Southwest side of town and are still figuring out where everything is, and then on top of it, we’re still in the middle of a pandemic. West Russell Animal Hospital allowed me to be with my dogs for their first vet visit and to get all their shots updated. I didn’t have to wait very long outside for them to come and walk us inside as is protocol at the moment, and even while inside, we didn’t wait very long to see the vet. The girls seemed pretty calm there also considering they’ve never liked going to the vet office. We’ll keep going for our annual shots and anything else that may come up for their needs.

Since I know it is important for a lot of people, the first thing I will say is that their prices are very reasonable. 2 years ago we found out a family cat had cancer. After quite a bit of diagnostics at another vet we determined that it would be an extreme cost for a 5% chance of a good outcome. We went to this vet for a second opinion and, while the outcome was the same, we immediately liked the place and their friendly staff. We also had priced cremation with addons at several locations and this one was the most affordable by a good amount. Their office visits and diagnostics are also lower cost than our previous location. Since finding them a couple years ago, this is the only place we have gone for our other animals. They are currently helping us with an issue where our cats are frequently throwing up, and we always feel like we are getting special care. I always have a lot of questions and they always seem more than happy to answer them thoroughly and even provide printouts of studies. Even though I've moved further away, they are really easy to get to being right off the freeway. They are friendly, affordable, and take great care of our little friends, so we have no great reason to try one closer to us.

West Russell Animal Hospital is AMAZING. I cannot say enough great things about them. I went there with my dog Sofia, after having a horrible experience at a prior vet. They were awesome from the very beginning. They got my dog in right away, and the staff was extremely friendly. They answered all our concerns and got us referred to the necessary surgeon. I highly recommend this place. I actually just called this morning to get my dog scheduled for a urgent visit and they were able to get me in for tomorrow (to accommodate my schedule). I have taken my car Tiger to Dr Schroeder in the past year when he got into a fight with the neighbor stray cat, she literally saved his neck from having to need a skin graft. I swear that cat plots to get out any chance he can and just this past we did so and got in another fight but this time wounds were superficial and he is doing well thanks to Dr Benson and the great staff there . Monday I was calling around to every vet in town trying to get the earliest appointment for my dog to be seen. Every where I called I explained the issue and was told they dont have any appointments for at least a week and take her to animal emergency hospital. Last hope and I called West Russell Animal Hospital. The person that answered the phone was so caring and you could tell she was concerned for my dog. She fit me in a couple hours later. Arriving to the appointment was easy as explained to me in the phone call. Because of COVID you park in a numbered parking spot and call to get checked in. Wasn't but a couple of minutes before the vet tech was at the car to bring us directly into a room. The vet tech, nurse and office staff were all so friendly. The vet came in and was very knowledgeable and addressed the problem with my dog. Medicine was given there and the bill was very reasonable. I was very concerned when I learned that Dr. Roach had left West Russell Animal Hospital. We had already had some issues at another vets office and we were finalkf getting comfortable with WRAH. We went into our initial appointnemt with Dr. benson with some trepidation. We had no need to worry. We were cery happy with our visit. Dr. Benson And her staff each took the time to listen to what was going on with each of my pets and took specific time to review each of them individually. I did not feel rushed and I felt like they truly cared about our pets and us and wanted to understand what was happening in their lives and make suggestions on how to improve their quality of life. We went for a walk in injury that happened the night before, the wait was minimal, the Vet we saw (Dr Gouldburn) was thorough with his assessment and explaining his concerns and the likelihood of his concerns, we received a price estimate prior to treatment from the vet himself to explain treatment plan. After the preliminary results came in he explained discharge and follow up AND called us after hours to give us the final x-ray report, just to check on his status, and to offer answers to questions. Prior to this visit, we had another vet, after this visit: WRAH is our new dr!! 🐶 Thanks Dr G!!

My 11 year old papillon Lola, sprained her rear leg when she jumped on my lap. I took her to West Russell Animal Hospital and she received excellent care. Thanks to the doctors and some meds, she is doing so much better within a week. Now it has been 3 weeks and she is walking on the leg, but sometimes will hold it up, but she is back to her old self, eating dog food and acting normal once again! I would give Dr. Roach 100 stars if I could. I first brought my dogs to him when he worked at a different animal hospital and when he started this animal hospital we followed him and still bring our dogs to him even though it is a long way to drive for us. He is an amazing vet and really cares about the animals he treats. We have a huge German Shepard that is VERY aggressive, no other vet in town would take the time to actually check him out or even get close to him. But Dr. Roach does. He is an amazing doctor and I am sad to move out of town because I know we will never find another vet like him. If you want your pets to be treated by a vet that actually cares then take them to see Dr. Roach, you will be happy you did.
