We unexpectedly lost our 13 month old pup due to a rare form of cancer that came on quickly and aggressively. Everyone we dealt with at the clinic was so kind and supportive. They showed genuine empathy to us and our boy and made our process of crossing him over the rainbow bridge so much easier. We truly feel this staff has been a blessing. Thank you so much for your humility and showing so much care to our boy during such a tragic time in our lives. We will be forever grateful. Highly recommend to anyone that wants to make sure their fur baby is taken care of! Thank you again! ❤️

Have worked in Vet. Med for almost 15 years and after stepping back from small animal medicine and realizing our Golden child had torn his cruciate we were apprehensive about going forward with his repair without directly being involved with his surgery and recovery. When we decided to move forward with his TPLO we were so incredibly happy with how our consult with Dr. Martin and Shelby (RVT) went that we decided to place our trust in MedVet. Through this ongoing pandemic Veterinary medicine has had to constantly shift and adapt all while trying to maintain the gold standard of care and honestly what we experienced with MedVet was just that- the gold standard. Through drop off, pre and post-op and discharge I knew our boy was in fantastic hands. Thank you to every member of MedVet who had a part in Hami’s successful TPLO including Dr. Martin, Shelby, Molly, and every other CSR/RVT/Assistant that helped. I brought my sweet girl, Foxy, here about a month ago. She had hit her head on the dishwasher and was experiencing some scary neurological symptoms. When I brought her in they saw that she was in bad shape and several staff came to the front to take her from me. I unfortunately had to make the worst decision of my life that night, but I can honestly say that this hospital could not have been better. Everyone took her condition seriously and treated her with such kindness. The vet (Dr Goad) was just so kind to both myself and my pup. She explained her thoughts professionally and made me aware of my options. She took the time to comfort me in the midst of my endless tears and she assured me that making the decision to relieve foxy of her suffering wasn’t wrong. Everyone there was just so kind and compassionate. I never felt judged for bawling my eyes out in the waiting room and everyone there was just so genuine. I know for a fact that the doctor had to euthanize several other pets just in the few hours I was there with my pup and I was astonished how she was able to keep her “cool” and continue to provide compassionate care for all of the animals under her care despite the sad situations she found herself in. The staff let me stay with my girl as long as I needed to and even offered to do paw prints and fur clippings after my girl passed. I received the paw prints and fur along with a very sweet sympathy card in the mail a few days later. Several staff members had taken the time to write such kind words about foxy (despite only ever seeing her that night) and it just brought me to tears. The folks here are angels and I am forever grateful that they were able to provide my girl with such a peaceful and dignified passing despite how sad I was to have to make that decision. While it is a situation no one ever wants to go through, the staff here made the experience the best they possibly could considering the circumstances. Thank you, Dr Goad and staff for your compassion and kindness on the worst night of my life.

We came home from vacation to our sweet Liam in respiratory distress. Once we arrived, they quickly swept him away for triage. Unfortunately the diagnosis ended up being terminal, but we could not have been more pleased about the care he received. The staff was kind and compassionate during a horrific time. We felt like each person we interacted with truly cared about Liam’s care and wellbeing and were dedicated to providing the best possible care for him. And they were very empathetic and lovely to us as well. The communication with us was excellent as the situation progressed, we got frequent, timely updates. Also, we were given upfront, transparent information, options, and financials as his situation progressed. I will never forget Dr. Hall’s sweet spirit, compassion, and genuine desire to help me make make the best decisions for Liam. I would recommend them to anyone in need of these types of services. They were a godsend to our family. We appreciate their efforts more than words can describe. Many thanks to the entire team!

I can't say going to an emergency vet is ever a great experience, but MedVet does make the process easy for you. I have brought 3 cats here on separate occasions. Each time the vet came out to the waiting room and thoroughly explained everything to me. The price for the surgeries mine have required was always cheaper here than at the other emergency vets in the area. Last time I had to take 2 cats in within a week of each other. When I brought the second one in, I mentioned that the first one was actually still here. The techs didn't know by my name, but instantly knew who my cat was. I found it comforting that they know the animals well enough to recognize them by their names. The cats came home a few days apart and the tech asked how the first cat was doing when the second one being picked up. The compassion shown was appreciated.

Is there a 10 star option? This place and all of the people who work here are AMAZING! We brought our cat here for an infected incision site and everyone was so thorough and understanding. They took the time to explain everything to us, really assess her, consult the necessary teams and updated us twice a day. Our cat is not fond of the vet or other people in general, and Dr. Goad was so patient and kind to her. She even got her to purr and eat when no one else could! I have already told everyone I know about this place, and while I hope to never need them again, they will be the first place I go in the case of an emergency!

Took our 3 month old recently adopted kitten here later in the night when she suddenly became lethargic, was throwing up, was very weak and also lost weight. She seemed to have faded very quickly and we were extremely worried. They took her into a room immediately and they came out to explain to us what they were doing based on our information on her condition. They had her in the room for a couple hours, and they asked for permission and explained the cost of some procedures they could do. They were very kind to us and our frail little kitten Mabel. Turns out she had parasites and was extremely dehydrated from the throwing up. They got her feeling better and sent us back home with some medicine and clear instructions once she was more revived from the fluids they gave her. She spent the long drive home meowing and acting like a kitten again! We're so grateful they were able to help us. They were one of the only places within an hour from our house to get Mabel seen after 5pm! We also observed how they were also very compassionate with the pet owners there that had pets in very serious condition. They seem to have people that work here that really love animals and are very caring. Thank you guys!

Love this place and these caring professionals! Would recommend their services with confidence. Our almost 12yo dog had complications from a minor surgery that worsened over the wknd. We weren’t sure what to do. When he started bleeding and trying to hide from us, we knew we had to bring him in. It was 11:30pm on a Sunday and we made the 20min+ drive over to the west side of Carmel. So worth it! They were professional AND compassionate, and you need both when you’re emotional and you have to leave your ailing pet in their care. Every single person I talked with on the phone (convenient curbside service) and carside was so kind, took the time to answer questions and treated our favorite guy with love and care. Pricing was fair and worth it. We paid a deposit (the low end of the quote) and they even refunded us money based on services provided. Did not expect that. And let’s face it—these people have a tough job when pet parents are emotional, the expenses are unexpected and it’s all out of pocket. After an overnight on IV meds, our guy is back home with us and we are so grateful. Thank you to everyone who took such good care of Dell❤️

Last night we noticed our dog’s eyes were becoming red and her face around her nose, mouth, and eyes were swelling at a rapid rate. We’d never been to MedVet but picked it as the closest emergency vet location. We called ahead of time and warned them our dog is not kind to strangers, so she would bark, growl, and be hesitant to let them treat her. Our dog definitely did give them a hard time, but every employee was so kind to us and handled our dog extremely well. They identified the problem, thoroughly explained what they did and how we can care for her after, and we were in and out in no time. I definitely recommend 💜

Worth the drive and the cost. I took my Newfoundland, George, there years ago for cancer treatment. They were excellent then. They were also excellent today when he needed to be seen emergently. It was surprisingly busy but the staff took all the time in the world for each family, answering questions, and giving all the options for their pet's care.

Wonderful experience with integrative medicine! Dr Shaw, Tracy, and Sarah are a great team who take a “kitchen sink” approach to helping my pup feel better. In a single appointment, he may go on the underwater treadmill, get a short massage, laser therapy, aquapuncture, learn exercises to do at home…I’ve noticed a big difference in his comfort and endurance after about 4 sessions. Very nice, competent vet professionals who show great patience and care for their canine clients!!

I appreciate the care my dog received here as it was medically adequate but didn’t feel the quality of service was up to the standard of the prices. I understand higher pricing for emergency services but I find it unfortunate that it took over four hours for her to be addressed and we were still charged for an emergency consultation (when I called beforehand and was told there was plenty availability that day). It ended up costing almost the same amount for four stitches as it did for a tumor removal she had done previously elsewhere. They also seemed more concerned with trying to sell me on lab work and tumor removals than fixing the small wound I brought her in for when I had documentation with me of cytologies and bloodwork she had done in the past month with her primary veterinarian (who didn’t have any availability that day). They offer a good service in case of emergency but if it’s not absolutely necessary you might want to look elsewhere.

They just saved my Diva Minx' s life by doing airway surgery on her as she is a French Bulldog. They were very considerate of her separation anxiety causing her to have respiratory distress and let us stay with her and did her surgery first thing in the morning so she had no time to fret. They were absolutely wonderful to us and kept checking up on her progress after surgery. I highly recommend MedVet for anyone that loves their pets.

We want to thank Dr. Hicks, Dr. Goad, Dr. Agarwal and their teams for taking care of our sweet Gimli in his final days. This was an extremely upsetting time in our life and completely unexpected. Dr. Agarwal and her cardiology tech, Angel, helped Gimli pass peacefully and treated us with the upmost kindness and empathy. He is greatly missed.

We've used MedVet on multiple occasions now, for outpatient ultrasound, emergency care and for euthanasia. Our first experience, they never actually scheduled the ultrasound that we scheduled, so when I showed up for our appointment they said we couldn't be seen and we had to wait another couple of weeks. This was obviously quite frustrating, but all of our appointments beyond that have been "positive" experiences. Positive is in quotes here because saying goodbye to a beloved family member is never positive, but they were able to get my husband in quickly and peacefully put down our old man. We just received a card in the mail with our guy's paw prints and multiple, handwritten notes/signatures from staff. It's really hard being in the animal healthcare industry right now and these staffers are truly doing their best and taking the best care of our pets as they can. I've had to take out other dog to another local ER, and it was definitely a "less than" experience. MedVet is a bit more expensive and a bit further than our local ER but we'll be making the drive for MedVet from now on.

We're SO thankful for Dr. Shaw, Dr. Klosterman, and Sarah. Our regular vet suggested we seek a specialist for our senior cat with some weird reoccurring urinary symptoms and opted to go with MedVet because they have such a wide range of specialists. Dr. Kosterman (internal medicine) saw us first and thought our cat would be a good patient for Dr. Shaw (integrative wellness) and Sarah (Dr. Shaw's vet tech). All 3 of them have been working together to treat our senior citizen and the changes we've seen have been remarkable. We see Dr. Shaw and Sarah on a regular basis for acupuncture, laser therapy, and lots of treats and catnip. The cat has gone from needing someone to hold him on the table to hopping up there on his own and not needing anyone to hold him there. It's obvious Dr. Shaw is working her magic and our cat knows it. I love Dr. Shaw's sense of humor, expertise, and how she combines the best of Eastern and Western medicine. Sarah is always so sweet and upbeat. I trust this team 100% and am so happy we found them!

Dr. Essig saved my cat’s life. He lost 10 inches of his small intestine. We went to Medvet on several occasions and received good care. It’s very expensive- thousands of dollars. My cat’s life is worth every penny. Wait can be long because they prioritize emergencies. They don’t have a surgical team there on weekends. Yesterday I spent 4-5 there waiting. While waiting, I observed multiple people bringing their pets. Those people were fully informed about cost of testing and treatment vs euthanasia. Many people didn’t like the price. Guess what? It’s not a charity organization. People who work in healthcare spend Thousands of dollars on licenses, continuing education, and Many years of college and they deserve to get paid. So I honestly don’t understand comments complaining about cost. Thank you for being here!

One of the best veterinarian services we have EVER been to. KNOW that they care about you and your pet. Our cat was attacked by one of our dogs and his jaw was badly broken. They calmed us down, took him in right away and gave him the supreme level care we wanted him to get. It wasn't cheap...but it was worth it to us.

Super impressed with the staff at Medvet! I took my reactive german shepherd for an infected incision and it’s always a bit harder as a reactive dog owner because of the judgement. Sometimes she isn’t seen at all due to her behavior but Dr. Goad did amazing! 100/5 because I’ve never had anyone work with her the way Dr. Goad did. She opened the door for her and it’s like a switch flipped. She was wagging her tail and listening to her commands. Dr even texted me after to remind me of some things. Her patience & effort is beyond appreciated & if she could be our primary vet she would be! Thank you for doing what you do

I brought my dog in for an eye injury. I had been trying unsuccessfully to get an ophthalmology consult. I had gone to VCA ER 3 times within the past week. All I got was eye drops and pain meds which did not work. Their ophthalmologist was on vacation. I begged them to get me a referral to an ophthalmologist as my shih tzu was in alot of pain. They refused. Med Vet not only waived the exam fee at this location but sent me to another med vet location with an ophthalmologist and got me a referral. My dog had surgery that afternoon. I cannot say enough positive things about this company.

This is my 2nd dog that has needed extra care to get better at MedVet. The Vets and staff are absolutely amazing! They keep you updated and allow visits which is so important. The reason for 1 less star is due to misleading final bill information. I was given a total at 10pm the night before her coming home that was $1,100.00 less then actual bill. The reason given was that I didn't get her until after work. I work 6am - 2:30pm, That was an expensive workday. Wish I known I was quoted for 9 hrs less😔 SO GET SPECIFIC TIME AND ALL OTHER QUOTED BILL INFORMATION

Had to travel 51mins to get there, but was well worth it, my furr kid rotated his dew clown completely during play, so 374.09 later he's good to go. Still couple hrs later, he is still groggy and does not want to move. The entire staff was very excellent and I was impressed overall, little pricey, but he's my furr kid. Highly recommend Med Vets completely for any emergencies.

There were very quick and efficient. I came in around 3 am. My dog had a very bad allergic reaction to something. I am a truck driver and there was room along the road to park my rig while my dog was getting medical attention. Also, for what they did and as late as it was the price for this er visit was no where near as high as i thought it was gonna be. I would recommend this place for the people that live in the area. The pictures are as she was when I brought her in. The last picture is how she normally looks.

We went in an Emergency situation nearly in the middle of the night. I called and the staff was waiting for me and promptly took my cat. They were able to diagnose and treat my cat promptly. My cat was admitted to ICU. They took prepayment which I felt was an extremely high amount. At that moment, I would have left a negative review honestly. However, with the situation I decided to leave my cat there for treatment. I am so happy I did. The staff of vet techs/nurses were so kind. The calls from the vet were very much appreciated! I really felt like they were caring for my cat as if he was there own. I can’t say enough about the care he received. They literally saved my cats life and he is home now and doing great! They also credited a large amount of my bill because they only charged for what they used and needed. It was worth every dollar. As I finally saw an itemized bill, the prices were in line with other vets. The staff was amazing and the facility is super impressive. If they were closer, I would definitely consider switching. Thanks so much to MedVet for providing exceptional care! For 2 days, I knew my cat was loved and well taken care of and happy.

I went there for an ultrasound on my 8 year old husky. Our vet found a mass on her liver and ordered an ultrasound before surgery. Dr. Hicks conducted the ultrasound and she found no mass on her liver. So she conducted an ultrasound of all of her organs looking for the mass. But there was none. She also noticed a low platelet count and BUN on the bloodwork done by my usual vet that they didn’t point out or assess. Dr. Hicks sat with me and my fiance outside for 40 minutes discussing everything. She recommended a new vet, we discussed a new diet, explained different things we can do to help my pup, she prescribed us medicine to help my pup. She gave us so much vital information and helped us understand what to do next. The staff was extremely kind and understanding. They made sure to explain everything that was happening and keeping us updated. I will 100% go to them anytime I have an emergency.

It takes one heck of a person to be able to see and adequately help pets day in and day out all day long that are in pain and suffering and the owners and their suffering and still be able to maintain such a caring and helpful demeanor!!! Y’all are literally rock stars!!!! A lot of people aren’t built psychologically to see what I seen today, but people need to realize that y’all are heroes, it’s not easy to be checking out someone whom has lost their beloved pet, as someone who’s pet is going to be fine is being impatient, meanwhile your actively caring for maybe 10 other dogs with dire emergencies, and at the same time having to tell someone on the phone that you aren’t able to accept payment plans(understandably with rising costs)! Halstead Home Inspections Tech Talk

Last Sunday March 13th our mini labradoodle got out and got hit by a car. My wife took him to MedVet and I met her there. He had a punctured lung and some internal bleeding. The staff and the Dr.s was amazing and took such good care of our pup. Thankful to have these professionals available 24 hours. Thank you for caring for our Rusty. Not enough stars in the world for these folks.

Dr. Lemons did an amazing job on a full mouth extraction from a senior cat we adopted from the Humane Society. Our cat recovered exceptionally well and acted like nothing ever happened just two days after the surgery. While it was more expensive than going to my vet, I know our cat had an easier time recovering because of all that they do at MedVet.

They conducted an exam when I brought my sick cat in last month. They are following drop off protocol for COVID, so I wasn't in the exam room. The doctor called and told me that my cat was very sick and explained the options. She helped me talk through my options. When we decided we needed to put my cat down, the vet tech was so compassionate with me and walked me inside. The process was incredibly kind to my cat in his last moments. I was given time to sit with him before the doctor came back in and they talked me through the whole thing. It was one of the saddest days I've experienced, but the staff helped make it less painful. I have thought about their positive demeanor, compassionate words, and patient process many times as I have mourned my cat.

The vets at Medvet are very caring and professional. If you have a pet emergency after hours or on a weekend they are the place to take them. You will pay a premium for the services after hours, but they can offer tailored services to meet your needs and adjust to your budget if necessary.

No one ever wants to visit the ER with their dog, but MedVet has made it bearable! I took my dog in at 3 AM for excessive vomiting. The doctor and I talked and made a decision based on previous knowledge and cost. When my dog and I got up the next morning she vomited again and had to go back to MedVet for immediate care. Because I was back within 24 hours I only had to pay the first ER fee. Additionally, because my dog was having a true emergency (extremely high red cell levels and poor kidney function due to dehydration and hemorrhagic gastroenteritis) she was seen quickly. The vet called me with each update, and explicitly went over cost of her recommended care. I was never pressured and asked at every step if I was ok with the cost. My dog ultimately was hospitalized for 48 hours and I received twice daily updates with the option to call and check in as I wanted to. When we made the decision to hospitalize my dogs the vet gave me a quote and a nurse called me to go over a complete care plan. At each update I was given a total for where I stood within my original quote for care cost. I was even specifically asked if I wanted to complete a diagnostic ultrasound or wait and see if my dog responded to treatment. I made the decision to complete the ultrasound, but did not feel pressured to do so by the vet. When it came time for discharge the nurse went over all medications in detail with me. MedVet also did not try to sell me any extras—they sent me home with potty pads for my car/couch and with a cone. They also recommended medications that I could get cheaply over the counter at the pharmacy. I highly recommend utilizing MedVet if necessary. I know that pet ERs can have long wait times, but please know the staff is prioritizing animals based on need.

We took our sweet dog here after he had suffered from a stroke. They took him in immediately and were very knowledgeable and honest about his condition. Unfortunately, we had to make the awful decision to euthanize him. The team was very respectful of our situation and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. A week later, we received a hand written card from the team with a notecard of our dog’s paw print. The team at Medvet knows how difficult it is to lose a family member and we are grateful for them! In addition, my husband and I thought the cost was very reasonable for all the care our dog received in his last few hours.

I accompanied my significant other to his appointment with Dr. Essig today. Even though i consider his furry child my own too, i have to admit this was one of the best experiences i have ever had in a veterinary clinic and it wasn't even during a visit for my own dog. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable but she was kind and caring and took her time explaining everything. She genuinely cares about her furry patients and it shows. As a professional in Medicine, I have always appreciated other professional workers who are straight forward with their recommendations, who take the time to provide knowledge on all treatment outcomes, and whose practice and morals aren't influenced by whether they get business or not. Dr. Essig was truly amazing and i would recommend her to everyone. So much so that if my furry child ever needed surgery, i would travel a thousand miles to come see her.

Great emergency vet in an area that doesn't have many 24 hour hospitals. My dog had an allergic reaction to who knows what, and while every other hospital in the city had a 3+ hour wait, they got her seen immediately and we were back home within a couple hours. As a veterinary professional myself, I would definitely recommend this MedVet for any pet emergency. Very kind & efficient staff! I want to add for anyone unaware - Veterinary ERs work the same as human: not necessarily in first come first serve, but based on severity. If you had a long wait, it's because they had more life-threatening cases before yours.

I have had to bring each one of my 3 cats here, unfortunately, and every time they have received the best care I could've ever asked for. I was able to call in at anytime for updates when Simba and Cora had to be hospitalized and they were always happy to let me know how my fur kiddos were doing. They even sent me a picture of Cora when she was in the ICU, getting lots of love from her technicians. I recommend MedVet to all of my friends with pets and especially since they are open 24/7, which can be hard to come by for emergency animal care. Their prices are reasonable and the employees are caring and compassionate.

My senior dog had a complete tear in her cruciate ligaments AND meniscus in both back legs. The friendly, knowledgeable staff took their time explaining everything from the consultation, to pre-op, to post-op care, etc. for my dog's surgery. Dr. Martin & staff gave frequent updates and all were patient and reassuring. I felt very comfortable that my dog was in good hands. I was able to bring my dog home today, and I know if I have any questions or concerns that they will be addressed quickly and with care.

This is a great facility/business. My 12yr old cat was diagnosed with cancer. Noah's animal recommended them, since they have specialist on staff for the cancer diagnosis. My little guy never made it for a cancer consultation. We had to make the very hard choice to put him down, due to some unfortunate complications. The staff was so very kind. They are great at what they do. They offered so many kind words. They allowed us to be with Max as he was leaving this earth. I ugly cried and not once did they make me feel anything other than supported and cared for. They sent us a card in the mail, hand signed by all that worked that evening. This was my 1st time taking my dog to MedVet and it was a great experience. The staff was very friendly, thorough, and timely. My dog had a terrible cough that MedVet quickly diagnosed as bronchitis - they said he should start feeling better within 48 hours of taking the medicine they prescribed and they were right. My kitten became ill and the team was able to diagnose him with a rare but fatal virus. Despite my heartache at hearing the news, everyone there took excellent care of my kitten, paid him attention, and made him comfortable. The doctors are wonderful. Their ability to use diagnostic tests and their knowledge amazed me. They made the diagnosis and instituted a care plan for my animal to make him feel good enough to come home. They communicated the news to me in a compassionate way, and were very good at explaining what everything meant. The receptionist named Abby is one of the nicest people you could meet in a situation like this. She provided me with help coping with my loss by going out of her way to google support groups and other options for me as I grieved. Overall, the care is excellent whether your pet's ailment resolves and comes home with you, or if sadly your pet's illness has a very poor prognosis. They keep the animals free of any pain and suffering. I was confident having my kitten in their care. They keep you informed, and they genuinly care about animals and their owners. I am so grateful that this MedVet is located so close to where I live.

The staff here are friendly, professional and most importantly, informative. I have had to take my cat here twice for emergency visits. Both times the staff were excellent not only in the care they gave but keeping me informed of my options, costs, and helping me to make the best decision for my cat. My cat ended up staying three days and each day the doctors called with morning and evening updates as well as answered any questions I had. I was also able to stop by for visits, which they facilitated. The initial dollar estimate they gave me was extremely accurate - so no surprises when it came to the final bill! My sweet sheltie Luna had an acute toxic reaction to something she got into. She started wobbling, violently twitching and then just collapsed with little to no movement. We'll never know what caused it but our local vet just closed and the 2 vet hospitals I was referred to were either not accepting emergencies or said we could show up but wait times would be in the hours at best. I called MedVet and you could just tell they were different in a good way. They asked questions to my dog's condition instead of just saying don't bother coming. Unfortunately MedVet was the last vet I brought my girl to. I brought my girl here after taking her to 4 different appointments with 2 different vets who couldnt figure out what was wrong with her. Within 20 minutes MedVet was able to diagnose her with an advanced case of pneumonia. Unfortunately she did not make it through the night. I just got home from, now, from picking up her remains. MedVet and the place they work with for cremations went above and beyond. Not only did all the staff working that night send a card, but they included paw prints. The chest with her remains is beautiful with her name engraved on a plate on the front. They also put her paw print in plaster. (I wanted to get a necklace or something made, but had never had paw prints made for her so this was extremely touching). From start to finish they were extremely professional and caring. Some reviewers complain about the price, which can be a bit steep, but what price are you willing to put on the life of your pet? I wish I had come here sooner. (Never can tell how traffic is) Cant say it was fun waiting for the appointment, but 5 minutes after appointment time they came to the car got my baby. My dog Cleo was here today because she was having an allergic reaction to something from yesterday. We have no idea what could have caused it. Her face and tongue were swollen and they triaged her immediately. She received a steroid injection and an antihistamine. About an hour later, the doctor called to give us an update. She was responding to the medication and the swelling was going down. I was so relieved. She was discharged for a total of $121 for the emergency exam. We were given instructions to monitor and continue treatment at home if necessary. Thank you to the kind and helpful staff who took care of my furr baby!!

My dog Snickers was hit on a Sunday morning at 4am only place open i could find was this place. They saved my dog but only after payed 3500.00 dollars to them. After the stress of coughing up 3500.00 dollars at 5 in the morning my dog got treatment. I had a thousand cash on me and they still wouldn't do nothing till 3500.00 was payed to them. We had to put our 12 year old pit down and the process was horribly sad but the staff was so great. They worked with us so Sammy was never alone and sent us a card in the mail later. They were very efficient, too, despite being busy on a holiday. May consider stocking crates or burial boxes for (especially large) dogs in the event someone doesn't want cremation. Dr. Martin did the surgery and all the ER DR, Techs and surgical staff were amazing. Answered any and all my questions. Even let me take my nugget home for the night since couldn't schedule surgery til the next day. It was expensive but not anymore that what the regular Vet estimated. Treatment was also what the regular Vet thought needed to be done. Luckily, it was a standard procedure for a fracture and my cat did really well. Hopefully, never have to come back but thank you for the excellent service.

I highly recommend this emergency vet clinic, our dog had a deep laceration on her pad and toe that was bleeding a good bit this evening. We called ahead and the receptionist was extremely courteous and professional and checked to make sure we would be seen right away before encouraging us to come in. Once we arrived to MedVet we were immediately taken back to a room and the Vet Tech began to check our pup's vitals. Dr. Froderman did the examination and took her back to clean, close, and bandage the cut. Every single staff member that we interacted with was extremely pleasant and talked encouragingly to our dog so that she wasn't scared while also explaining to us clearly the plan for treatment. The entire experience took less than one hour and included emailed directions and report as follow-up.

My cat ate something he shouldn't have. My Vet was closed and I brought him to MedVet. After surgery and a few days of inpatient care, he came home for 2 weeks of recuperation. The techs, surgeon and internal medicine team were very clear and informative. Most of all they were competent. My boy is alive and happy and I can't thank them enough for that! I received updates as promised and can't think of much to complain about. This place isn't cheap, but who would expect that an EMERGENCY room would be?

We took my dog here to be put to sleep, it being a 24 hour facility is huge. It allowed us to keep him home for as long as we wanted before we felt like we were ready. They also let us sit in one of their rooms for well over an hour so that we could say our goodbyes. They were so accommodating and understanding and even sent a card in the mail giving their condolences for the loss of our pet / member of the family. They are also one of the cheaper options in Indianapolis for euthanasia. Highly recommend.

Just over a week ago, I lost my cat Leo to a urinary obstruction. I've experienced many losses over my life including that of my mom, but this one hit especially hard because he was my baby and I felt responsible. My cat passed away recently (terminal cancer) but he was a patient here for many years due to his diabetes. I can say without a doubt that Dr. Owens and his staff took good care of my cat. I know as pet parents go my wife and I were probably annoying at times with all the emails and calls, but the staff and the doctor were patient and helped us every time. When we needed to get in for an emergency visit we got in quickly and the doctors were excellent. Kudos should also be given to Dr. Joe who was the emergency doctor when we last visited the facility. He was exceptional in the care he gave my cat and even though he had to deliver bad news he did it with the upmost respect and tact possible. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for emergency pet care.

Saw Dr.Ryan and Miranda (tech) today after coming home to a sick dog, and after our regular vet could not see him on short notice. They were both kind and took time to explain things without being condescending or rushed. The wait time was also super reasonable and we received service quickly. Cost was also very reasonable, compared to our regular vet, and they also told us which meds we could get cheaper over the counter at the drug store, so it didn’t feel like anyone was trying to take advantage of the emergency situation. They were also helpful in telling us what to expect from the oncology consultation that we will be attending. We liked Dr. Ryan so much that we plan to continue our regular vet care there!

I brought my cat in one evening after she fell over and started stumbling. We ran some tests and didn't find anything that would give us a definitive diagnosis, so we decided to go home and follow up with the regular vet. I was impressed by the time they took to talk to me about what we should do next to better understand what might be going on. The only thing I did not like about our experience was that the vet who was taking care of us finished her shift midway through treating us, but everyone we dealt with was nice. I also really appreciated that the tech who took her vitals wrote down everything that I said when she was asking me what I observed and then sent a copy of this with her test results to me and to my regular vet. They also sent me home with a copy of her x-rays that I was able to pass off to the regular vet, and followed up with us to check on her and ask what they could have done better a few days later.

Also, the cost for services here is far less for more treatment than any of the other places we tried calling. This was just a divine appointment!

My greedy little dog snuck away with A dose of heart medicine meant for my larger, sicker dog. Due to COVID-19 I’ve had to restrict outside contact severely as I have an immunocompromised person in my home. I called to see what might be done and the kind staff were able to talk me through options. Fortunately, despite the size difference in dogs the dosage was in range of what would be given to either dog. We monitored her closely and leash walked her and it was extremely annoying that she seemed delighted at the extra attention! I’m grateful to the staff that I got the advice I needed remotely. I called back the next day to give an update (they were happy to hear that she’s fine!) and offer payment, which they declined. I added them to my contact list and will call them first for emergency needs since they are open 24 hours, and I recommend that you do the same.

So I want to preface this with Emergency Hospitals are an important thing and I respect the work they do however. Us bringing our pet there was just a nightmare for us and for the dog. Our dog had injured their paw and so we took them to medvet. Called when we got there and waited for 1 hour with no response. They then came out asked what number to call and walked back in without taking our dog. After asking us that they proceeded to call the wrong number and never get a hold of us. We left after a hour and a half of waiting with no contact on how long it would take. When we told them we were leaving they said thank you for being patient and we would have been waiting another few hours due to them having critical cases and our dog not being a priority. Now them saying our dog was not a priority was fine. There were dogs in much worse condition that needed to be tended to first. My only thing was just our dog has severe anxiety and so we were sitting in a car with a dog that wouldn't stop shaking or hyperventilating and to save themfrom that we had to give up on getting their paw fixed. I just wish there would have been better communication over the course of us waiting and I wouldnt give three stars but we were in the blind with an anxiety ridden dog having a full blown panic attack.

I can not begin to say enough about Circle City. My old veteran has been kept mobile and strong due to the physical therapy (laser and underwater treadmill) sessions. She loves the sessions (with peanut butter incentives) and despite her old-age-induced arthritis she is alive and far more mobile than many others of her breed and of her age. Two years ago she had a series of digestive upsets and her home vets sent us to CC for an ultrasound. She was quickly diagnosed with an adrenal cancer. She survived the surgery and now at 12 years she continues to flourish and is still cancer free. We have also taken several of the rest of the crew in for Emergency care (corn cob eating, soap eating, sudden unexplained pain, etc.). Expenses are explained in detail and choices given as to what direction to take. We have terrific home vets, but after hours, when things go crazy wrong we head to CC. Recently Dot unexpectedly began to hemorrhage after a spay and she was seen immediately and treatment initiated quickly. Two days later we had our Dot back home, recovering nicely. It is now several months past treatment and she is back to her normal self. I realize that there are some odd reviews on Google. No, there is not a Dr. Heinz at this practice. And that bit about chains and dropping dogs? Eh... no, this is just some weird imagination at work. I've had several dogs in their critical care and all have come home safe and sound. The doctors and technicians have taken the time to listen to me, take detailed histories, and explain tests and imaging. They are professionals with the pets' care their utmost concern.

This review is for taking my female labrador puppy to them for chronic incontinence and suspected ectopic ureters. Dr Schrage and the staff were very capable and professional. In particular, the nurse who took the patient history (puppy history) did amazing job capturing her. However, despite spending a bit over $1k, they really weren't able to tell me what was wrong with her, nor was the ultrasound able to diagnosis or rule out ectopic ureter. The next step recommended was cystoscopy Ultimately, they recommended me take her to Purdue which was equipped to do the corrective procedure as well. If you have a puppy with suspected ectopic ureters, I would recommend taking them directly to Purdue.

I had to take my old dog to the emergency vet, and he ended up having to stay and was transfered the internal medicine the next day. He was in kidney failure and had other serious issues that we didn't know about that would have been terminal if he had survived. He was too sick, though, and we ended up having to euthenize him (he was 15.) Throughout this experience, everybody from the receptionist, techs, to the vets (Dr. May in emergency and Dr. Owens in internal medicine) were wonderful. They clearly communicated the charges, and called regularly with updates. The doctors called personally to discuss test results, progress, and options. They were very compassionate and went out of their way to facilitate visits and to make the end as easy on us and the dog as possible. They sent a nice card with personal notes of condolences and a memorial pawprint from the dog. I highly recommend them. Yes, it was expensive, but that is to be expected for the services they provide.

Wonderful Vet!!! If we lived in the Indy area they would be our vet. Very professional and caring. I had total confidence in them as soon as we walked through the door. We were visiting Indy and our dog's back flared up. Dr Audo did a very thorough exam and discussed our options. My daughter and I found an injured cat in the road at midnight. We took him there. They ended up having to put him to sleep but said they would spread his ashes in a rose garden. Our dog was attacked by another dog and had multiple lacerations to her right front leg. It was 8pm on Sunday night so we took her to MedVet for emergency evaluation. It was very busy and we did have to wait for quite a while before seeing Dr. Macumber, but we were triaged by a vet tech almost immediately. Dr. Macumber took great care of our baby - she did appropriate work-up including x-rays and a thorough exploration under sedation of the injuries. She drained the area appropriately and treated with antibiotics. She had to postpone the surgery, but started antibiotics and pain medication right away so that our girl would be comfortable and safe while she was waiting for her procedure. Overall, coming from 2 (human) surgeons, my husband and I were very impressed with her management of the situation and we have complete confidence in her and MedVet. Hopefully we will not have to return, but it is comforting to know that they are available and open 24/7 to provide excellent care for the pets of Indianapolis.

I was referred to periodontal specialist Dr. Lemmons for my cat. My entire experience was amazing. The front desk receptionists were kind and answered my questions. This being the 3rd vet I had taken my dog to for an eye issue, it was finally found that she had blastomycosis. Unfortunately this being the third vet my dog's eyes were in pretty bad shape and she is currently blind. I am however trying to stay hopeful that she may be able to see again. Their Ophthalmologist Dr. Mathes was very quick to have a clue as to what was going on, she consulted with their Diagnostic Veterinarian Dr. Owens, and they quickly came up with what was going on. Not just the Vets but the Techs Brook and Adara were absolutely wonderful. This was an expensive trip to the Vet however, I never once felt as though I was being taken advantage of, and knew she was being cared for by people who genuinely cared for her well being. I hope to never have another need to go here other then follow up visits but if I do need an Emergency Vet or specialist I will go straight here without hesitation.

I would recommend this vet hospital 100%. Next visit with our other dog: We brought our 23lb Schnoodle here at 11:30pm on Saturday Jan. 12th for lacerations from a coyote attack. They got him all fixed up in a timely manner. They even let us leave him until 7am the next morning without charge for an overnight stay. Gave us great follow up and care instructions. I've had very good experiences here. We brought our dog Rinny in last year for a scan. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with an aggressive and terminal cancer. Our doctor, Dr. Essig, prescribed medication to give us some time to love on him, give him extra treats, and decide when we were ready to say goodbye. I really appreciate her care and understanding. Last week, I brought my cat in for some urinary issues and worked with Dr. Koether. She was also amazing. She sat down with me and thoroughly explained what she felt was going on with Toobs and what she recommended. I really trusted her guidance. I've always thought the staff and assistants were detailed, professional, and helpful as well. One area of caution to those going here...It is expensive. I was really shocked at the cost of our last appointment. I'm definitely glad I went both times and very happy with the care, but it is pricey.
