I am a first time dog owner i was pretty nervous being at a vet for the first time. The staff was so welcoming and super nice to my dog and I. The prices were reasonable and i didn’t feel overcharged at all. The vet was so sweet and she had awesome communication skills, very nice welcome lobby and they also had free water and coffee yummy! I will definitely be coming back for my fur babies needs.

I moved away and I still bring my dog to see her favorite vet. They treat my dog so well, there is no need to look anywhere else. The prices are reasonable and the care is supreme. The location is close to my parent’s so it is a win win.

I love taking my fur babies to NCAH. They are always so sweet to my babies. Our first visit my small dog poo'd all over one of the ladies because he was so nervous. She was like, "it's not big deal, don't worry about it." They are so understanding and you have to be with animals. Like babies sometimes they just don't understand what's happening or why. I am so thankful for their care and patience with my babies.

Best vet clinic in Houston! Been here with 4 different pets of mine and they’ve always been the best and they even do financing if you don’t have all the funds! This last time I went I did have to wait 4 hours to get seen which is a first in the many many times I’ve been here but hey they did give me a discount for the wait! Love this place definitely recommend and it’s always so clean and nice. The two vets are so nice and caring. They don’t BS you you let them know your pets problems and they prescribe exactly what they need. Everything they have ever prescribed me for my pets always cured them. Best vet experience compared to the other 2 clinics I’ve been to

I was having trouble getting my Bloodhound to eat and he was very lethargic. Upon going to an emergency room Vet, it was found that he had swallowed a rock and had a complete blockage of the small intestine. Once finding that out I was given a quote for $6-8k. This was a shot to the heart. There was no way I could’ve afforded this. I can’t tell you the range of emotions I was feeling after hearing that news. Was this going to be it? He is a day from being a year old and without a doubt my best friend. I was distraught and was desperately trying to find a way to save him. One of the techs at the ER referred us to North Channel. We ended up going and having the rock taken out and he is now home and doing much better. After going through such a range of emotions and being exhausted with worry, the team at North Channel made me feel comfortable. I cannot thank them enough for the service they provided. They saved my dogs life. I am forever grateful to them. They also did it for a fifth of the cost.

I would've given them a 5 point star but I was a walk in. It wasn't busy at all the the lady in the front completely forgot about me. I had ti get up and ask if there were any papers I need to fill in while I wait. She was apologetic and it was okay. It's just a Lil mistake. Dr. Bordeaux and Jennifer (the Office Manager) are compassionate and loving about animals, and it shows in their work ethics. I am not the biggest fan of the front staff. They treat you more like “a number”. But my cat, Oreo loves Dr. Bordeaux and she has been treating him (and his deceased brother Sebastian) since we moved into the neighborhood.

I’d been to north channel before, but years ago when they were still at their old location. I hadn’t had any pets since then, but a few days ago a stray dog more or less adopted me. I went ahead and made him a vet appointment, they answered all of my questions and they took good care of him. I had a great experience, but more importantly, he had a great experience. This is an excellent clinic. My elder cat was not doing well. I had an appointment, but they were able to see me earlier. We were not able to save my old girl, but they make the whole process as stress free as it can be in this situation. They provide a private room, private check out and are with you every step of the way. I will always be grateful for Dr. Stephanie Bordeau and her kind understanding manner.

I took my senior cat in because she was very sick. The doc knew exactly what to order and had her stay the night for 2 nights. They ended up finding an abscess as well and cleaned her wound. They recommended a medication to buy and she is doing way better now. I feel like they saved my kitty's life.

I've been going to this vet since July of 2021 and they have always impressed me with their knowledge and services (from vaccinations to surgeries to routine visits). Growing up in a vet clinic as a kid (mom was a vet tech for years) I've always been extremely picky about who I use as a vet for my cats and dogs. Without a doubt, North Channel Animal Hospital has always given me the sense of ease and professionalism I expect. Their prices aren't too shabby either. In March I had to put my dog of 11 years down and the kindness and compassion the whole staff showed is beyond anything else I've ever experienced. The fact that they have a private room with chairs and a soft bed, with a private exit, and a private payment area (so you don't have to do the sobbing walk of shame to the front register) was well appreciated, and I know my girl was in good hands as they gave her one last chocolate and her forever sleep. I can't express enough that even months later I am just moved by how personal and professional that service was. Highly recommend this clinic and all their doctors/staff.

First time with my BellaWella... and she was treated with the best care... best information given from them... I however didn't know that I needed to send a deposit to keep my first appt... and when it came to the day of appt I had to be a walk in as I arrived 20 minutes before appt time (which would have been at 9:20 arrived at 9) and had to wait almost an hour... seen other clients go in before me that came after me... but maybe their services were needed much more or emergency so I can understand that as well... definitely going back to get her 2nd exam and shots... this will be our home vet dr for Bella Update... Bella 2nd visit went well and didn't have to wait long was in and out and vet made sure to address any concerns and they like always treat Bella and all the pet ba ues that come in with such great love and care

The staff here is very friendly and very patient when it comes to your fur baby! I was able to be seen as a walk in appointment after I woke up Friday morning to my dog vomiting and being very lethargic. North Channel Animal Hospital saw me right away and I did not wait long to be seen. Dr. Bordeau was very professional and treated my pup right away. She knew exactly what he needed and within minutes my dog was getting the appropriate treatment he needed to start being himself again. The girls in the front were so empathic about my situation and allowed me to see my dog in the back where he was getting treated. I am happy to say that my dog is back to his normal self and feeling 100% better thanks to Dr. Bordeau and her staff. Thank you ladies for making this dog mom feel very comforted throughout the process!! Einstein also sends his thanks for being so sweet to him!

I came to North Channel Animal Hospital because my dog's normal vet wasn't willing to work him into the schedule to update his vaccines. The staff was super friendly and very helpful, and my pets vaccines were updated in a very timely manner. I was so impressed with their service that I actually scheduled my dogs check up with them for a month later and decided to leave the veterinarian that he had been going to for the past 6 years. This review is long overdue. My senior pug was diagnosed with Kidney Disease in January and for close to 7 months I took her in weekly for fluids by the vet techs (she was still wild in her old age). Everyone was amazing and so kind each week as both I and my pup were anxious. Unfortunately, we lost our girl last month and the staff hugged and cried with us when we lost her and went to pickup her ashes. I have been taking me puppy here for past 4 months for routine needs and happy with service. Well this morning I am upset. When I first started bringing my baby here I collected pricing. I was told office visits/exams were $25. I’ve always been charged $25. Today was our first sick visit (ear pain) so I thought it would be $25 exam and no need for diagnostic test. At check out they informed me that exam fee for sick visit is $75. Well y’all need to say exam fee is based on reason for visit if someone calls to ask about pricing. The doctor checks her ears and say it’s normal nothing is wrong. Ok great. Then she says she’s gonna take a sample and look quickly under microscope. That quick look cost $45 extra dollars. I would have appreciated her to ask me if I wanted to confirm with a swab being that it was an extra charge. I work in healthcare so I get it. But if I look at something and its clearly normal, I won’t order additional testing without confirming with client. They are nice and friendly but $115 for a 5 minute ear exam is excessive.

They all were very pleasant and helpful. We didn't wait at all for our visit, they were on time. It appears to me that the Doctor and the techs that helped us all seemed to love what they were doing and all 3 that I met had excellent bedside manner to their patients. We were in and out quickly and that was very important to me since I took off from work to take my dog. I think the pricing is reasonable and worth the money especially since they were all so sweet to my dog and to me. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a good vet that knows that their patients needs are top priority and not the dollar bill they'll get when we leave. I will also definitely be taking all my furry family members to see them.

This place is incredible. When one of my bottle baby kittens suddenly became ill on a very busy Saturday they worked her in and gave her the best care possible. Unfortunately she didn’t make it but they did all they could do. They didn’t try up up-sell me on expensive procedures that would have provided little hope for recovery. The Dr was very straight forward about her condition and chances of survival with elevated care. The information allowed me to make a difficult decision easier. We had her put down to end her suffering. The staff could not have been nicer. They were so kind and caring. The Dr charged a fraction of the normal costs and took considerable time explaining everything and answering my questions. I love this place.

After reading all the bad reviews I decided to give this place a chance. I was a little bit skeptical but they proved me wrong. It was my baby mini schnauzer’s first time here. We came in as a walk-in at 7:35 am waited about 35min. Didn’t feel long, very friendly atmosphere. Front staff treated us really nice and were really patient with us. Dr. Leon was amazing with our puppy. She answered all of our concerns with patience and care. She gave us a lot of good recommendations for our new puppy. We received a complimentary $25 off new client discount, simperica trio, and first dewormer. We also got a new client bag. Overall an amazing experience. We picked the best veterinarian close to our home! Take your fur baby here! 💗

Went in as a walk in for my sick kitty. Although I was waiting for 2 hours, I could understand the wait since I was a walk in. Dr Ray (?) - new to the practice - was gentle & attentive. The new location is so much better than the old location. For office visit & bloodwork I paid $160, which is reasonable to me because I want only the best care for my cats (kids).

Enough great things cannot be said about this place. My only regret is not finding out about them sooner. I brought my pup in for a second opinion after a brutal dog attack on her leg. Dr. Bordeau automatically made me feel at ease and even though the outcome was still an amputation, I know all that could've been done was done. My experience was truly a memorable one so this will definitely be my June's vet from here on out. Thank you so much to all the staff from the bottom of my heart. ❤

As a dog parent, you’re always going to be nervous about finding a new doctor for your babies. We moved from one side of Houston to the other side and I was able to find North Channel Animal Hospital! We scheduled an appointment for my youngest who is 10 months old. From the time we got there to the time we left it was the best experience a fur parent can have! I probably ask way too many questions, but that didn’t matter. I was still given great service and they made sure to answer any questions I had. I was able to get through the appointment with total relief and not be nervous about leaving my baby there. I went ahead and also enrolled my two older ones to the hospital as well so they can start going there! Thank you for making this nervous day run smoother!

I've been using this vet 12-13 years and I love to staff we are very friendly and very knowledgeable. They treated my babies with love they knew about their health when I come in we seem like we're part of the family not just somebody coming in with the dog. When it was time for both of my older dogs to go we took then here while the two experiences were completely different they were both handled very discreetly with an extreme amount of care an understanding. With my oldest they provided a nice quiet room with an easy chair in a rug on the floor low lighting in the calm soothing atmosphere and you may administer the medicine they left let the room and allowed us to spend as much time as we need with my beloved Sebastian. Letting him go was one of the hardest things I have had to do but they made the experience wonderful. Kind compassionate and considerate those are all words to describe the staff. The vet very knowledgeable about my animals. The prices are a little but the service is outstanding and not strip down.

My visit to this facility was actually great. My only complaint was I paid for my dog baby to have his nails clipped and his front paw nails were cut to much, every time I touched them he tried to bite my hand, which means he was hurting and the back paw nails were not cut at all. Wasted $15

My parent's used North Channel Animal Hospital back when it was located further down Wallisville road near the Dairy Queen for all of their animals needs at the time. As such when my cat Ares needed his sutures removed from an ER visit I called and was able to secure an appointment within the time frame needed. The staff was very courteous and conscentious toward how Ares was feeling, and I found the doctor, Dr. de Leon, to be forthright in what she recommended to happen with Ares. We didn't have to wait long after checking in, we were on time for our appointment and brought in before the actual time. The technicians and Doctor took excellent care of Ares taking their samples for tests and removing the dead skin from the sutures as well as the sutures themselves. I plan to keep going there so that Ares will stay fit and healthy.

I brought my German Shepherd here because she was really sick. I called around to multiple veterinarians and was told because of COVID, I wouldn’t be able to go in the room with here and when I called NCAP, they said I can be in the room with her, which is a major plus for me because I refuse to wait in my car and leave her inside by herself. The other thing was the staff was nice, professional, and it was very clean in the building. The prices are very reasonable. As a matter of fact, they let you know the prices BEFORE they do ANY sort of testing, X-ray, etc to your beloved pet. I would highly recommend them. Will definitely be back to bring my other 2 dogs. Oh! and they accept care credit 🙂

I really like the vets there. I have confidence in their expertise, and they are very kind. It's usually very easy to get an appointment so as to limit time in the waiting room, but they also do walk-ins. I'm so glad to have found them. I'm updating my review and adding a star. They've moved to a new location that has much more parking, the waiting room is much bigger, and the entire office is much nicer. I appreciate how accommodating they have been in response to Covid. You get to choose if you want to go in or do curbside. This is a really great vet office.

This is my first time owning a pet ever my dog is six weeks old they seen her that the same day I got her the veterinarian was so informative on what I needed to do and telling me about the shots. Three days later my baby was having problems her poor little Belly was full of worms and she was very nauseous and had a upset stomach and they seen her right away and by the end of the day she was back to normal and I just cannot be happier and thankful for them for being so professional and seeing my baby without a hesitation. Prices are a little more expensive and they're not rescue friendly/will not offer discounts to 501c3 rescue organizations but they do offer walkins after 1pm till close on a first come first serve basis. Which is convenient being 5 minutes down the road.

This place seems so rushed recently. I understand being busy but the doctor literally zoomed through the appointment. We were there waiting from 3 20 to 4pm to get into a room.. then a whole other hour for the provider who maybe spent 5 minutes with the dogs. Not the mention one of the dogs had severe pain due to the vaccines and getting pain meds the next day was such a hassle. The only reason I still have a paw plan is because my dog is a priority to me and I want to make sure if needed he is covered but my dogs are getting older and I would appreciate a more thorough exam.

I brought my baby Henry in with horrible vomiting. After going to an emergency clinic who showed no compassion for my worry and said my dog was too difficult to handle and wanted to charge me an arm and a leg. My mom referred me to north channel. They were already super busy but still told me to come by and Dr. Ray was so incredibly kind and informative. She eased my anxiety by taking time to answer all my questions. Although we didn’t have concrete answers she had a plan and was able to get Henry to do most of what she needed. The cost was also very reasonable. North Channel has earned a new client for life. I have been using North Channel for over 14 years. Dr Bordeaux is totally awesome and she listens to what you have to say about what is going on with your pet. She explains things well and is very caring. I referred my friend to North Channel and to my surprise she was not treated well. She said she would never go back. She went on Sat with her cat to get taken care of. Not knowing she needed an appointment she was told they do not take walking and for walking it was 3 hours ago. She said the girl at the front desk was down right rude. Not asking anything she told here she could take her Monday afternoon. This blew me away I have never been treated this way. Something must have changed it does not sound right. The problem is the front Desk person was so rude my friend to the cat to SNAP. She said they were very nice. From what she said it was like the front desk just snapped at her. I work with the public and I know that is not the way to treat a new client. She lives close to you but ended up in Pasadena.

My half mixed pit bull puppy ate a piece of cloth and I went nuts thinking he might die! The male vet doctor with a slight African accent saw him and noticed him panting -- he commanded one of his assistants to bring him a metal bowl of water! My puppy quaffed it with great joy! The vet waited and waited patiently just for the bowl. Then, he saw how aggressive my dog was with his assistants but he still petted him with passionate love and told him to behave. Next, My dog pooped and urinated in the room and two extremely beautiful Hispanic women reassured me it was OK and wiped it within instants. My dog was in a state of shame after he pooped (dogs are so intelligent!) but he nonetheless remained restive and waited for the doctor to give me the final diagnostic. The receptionist (young Hispanic lady with great charisma, ebullient character) brought me a muzzle strap all the way to where my car was parked to prevent my dog from going berserk once I walked him in for the appointment! This vet doctor is the #1 vet here! He deserves more than just an extremely high salary for what he does but also recognition for his hard work and his profound love for animals. This animal hospital treats ALL dogs with an insane degree of respect and are extremely humane to how they behave during the visit. Although it was an INCREDIBLY busy Saturday, the vets and assistants took a thorough amount of time to make sure the dog was inspected all the way. The waiting time for the walk in was almost 2 hours but every second was worth it! Thank you North Channel Animal Hospital! I hope this place continues to remain one of the top Animal Hospitals in the city of Houston and Texas!

Very professional. Everyone from the ladies at the front desk to the Doctor's in the back all were very sweet. We recently had to take our cat to the Clinic she was very sick. They had to keep her overnight. They called us early the next morning. Our sweet baby had not made it through the night. They had done everything that they could do. She had developed complications. They called us later in the day and ask us what we wishes to do with our sweet baby's body. They gave us the option to have her cremated. So they made all the arrangements for The Cremation. This office also offered us a Pet Credit card to help with the bill. We continue to take our dog to see the vets for check ups. I will recommend North Channel Animal Hospital to take your pet to.

We love North Channel Animal Hospital! Dr. Stephanie Bordeau has been our vet for about 14 years, and she is a very caring vet. She knows our dogs very well and gives them special attention and the best care. If they have been in the clinic for medical care, she always calls to check on them. I think that's really special! The staff there is also great and they readily attend to the needs of our pets. I can't imagine taking our dogs anywhere else!

I have been taking my pets to North Channel Animal Hospital for as long as I can remember and have always had a great experience with the doctors and staff until yesterday. My husband took one of our dogs for medical care. We had done some research of our dog's symptoms and talked with other pet owners. The dog is in perfect health except for these seizures or 'episodes' he has so we wanted to find out what is causing them since they are becoming more frequent. Dr. Hickman talked down to my husband and corrected him when he was trying to explain our dog's symptoms and proceeded to tell him that we have too many pets when she asked how many others did we have. They ran a regular blood work scan and it came back normal. From the dog's symptoms and what we have read and sought advice on before taking him in, she should have been concerned enough to dig a little deeper. The $125 we spent was a total waste of money. I will continue to take my pets there, but only to see Dr. Bordeaux.

There are two parts to this. The first... the visit itself, to address a sick cat, was wonderful. The nurses, the vet, all very nice, caring to my kitty, and competent. The second part, the two antibiotic prescriptions I received... the nurse simply said, let me go get your medications, and I then paid at the front desk... this seemed reasonable, for the convenience. The two medications added up to about $75, while the visit itself was about $50. Later, I became curious (as one of them was, when looking at the information inside, a generic human medication) and found out that not only do they retail at online pharmacies that sell pet meds for about $15-$20 each, but that the one that is a human medication is available at Walmart, for humans, for $4 (this is the EXACT same medication, with the same NDC code, same manufacturer (Bausch and Lomb) and same packaging. This means, to me, that the vets themselves could have bought the medications, at RETAIL price, at Kroger down the road (they sell pet meds, it turns out), and still made as much profit on them as the cost of the actual visit... well over a 100% markup. This is ridiculous, and the only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars... I know that many people have trouble affording vet visits, and this kind of price gouging is crazy. Offer people the option of filling the prescription elsewhere, or charge reasonable prices.
