Took a bird that was in critical condition here. The staff was professional and kind. Dr. Pratt was knowledgeable and caring. The bird didn’t make it, unfortunately, but the way they immediately acted when they did the initial check up and how quickly they got him into an incubator with heat and oxygen is the reason for my rate. I would choose to use them again if I needed to! Thank you Feather & Fur for the level of attention and care you provided that poor bird.

It’s such a huge sigh of relief to be able to find, depend on, get answers to and treatment for an exotic pet that needs medical attention. We’ve been here before with another Tiger Salamander but today, our other beloved Tiger Salamander was taken care of and treated by Dr.Ayling. Couldn’t have asked for anyone better. Because of Covid it was a telephone conversation but the caring voice on the phone was real and I felt like I was seeing the person face to face. We got the answers we needed and the solution to getting HER (a bonus surprise - “HE” ended up being a SHE!! ) better. Everything was explained to us so clearly with such warmth that anxiety levels plummeted immediately. The phone conversation wasn’t rushed either. Dr. Ayling took his time covering everything including that bonus surprise. Oops! LOL. 😂 MAHALO Dr. Ayling and Staff for Caring so so much. Continue to do your Best!! - Kurihara Ohana Update: 03/05/2023 Since then, our beloved boys passed away. Mahalo for caring for our precious exotics.

I was referred by my regular vet, King Street Pet Hospital, after trying to contact numerous wildlife rescuers and the Hawaiian Humane Society after discovering that 2 wild ducklings living around my townhouse somehow turned up with injured legs. I couldn't just ignore the ducklings who would be susceptible to attacks from other animals and was at my wits end not knowing what to do. It was a tremendous relief when Feather and Fur said I could drop them off and they would do what was best for the ducklings. They are truly animal advocates and I am forever grateful. UPDATE: the 2 ducklings have been reunited with their mom and remaining siblings.

Best avian vets on the island. all their staff are hard workers. the people who are 1 staring this place either don't understand pet care ain't cheap or don't understand the risks involved in surgery. I've been here many times and have never had an issue. I even took my bird in for a very risky surgery and KNEW she may not make it out alive. it's not easy being a 24hour vet clinic.

I found Feather and Fur through a frantic google search, in an attempt to find a 24 hour veterinary hospital with the expertise to treat exotic pets after Olive- my rabbit, began experiencing terrifying symptoms of a serious neurological problem at 3am. We called ahead, and when my girlfriend and I arrived at the clinic with Olive we were immediately helped by the wonderful staff who helped us through a very scary situation. Dr.Black was absolutely wonderful, as well as the vet tech who helped us on that morning- she did a great job explaining each of the costs in our estimate and made us feel assured that we were doing the right thing. When the time came for us to leave, we felt comfortable leaving our pet in the care of the clinic staff. Over the two days that Olive stayed at the hospital, she was treated incredibly well, and every receptionist, veterinary technician, and doctor that we interacted with showed much professionalism and compassion. We loved that we were able to visit with Olive and that the doctors frequently kept us updated on her condition. The prices seemed reasonable, especially due to the exceptional services we received. I was honestly surprised when the receptionist showed us the final bill upon discharge, as it was much lower than expected. Olive came home doing exponentially better, and she continues to recover each day. I contribute her recovery to the amazing people at Feather and Fur veterinary hospital, and I highly recommend them to anyone on Oahu who has a pet! We will be returning with Olive whenever she has a care need in the future. If anyone is looking for a veterinary clinic, Feather and Fur is an amazing choice!

One of the only places on island that will see my chinchillas, especially for emergencies. Had to take one a few months back late night and they took her in for the night. She’s been thriving ever since. Took my boy in today and I’m very confident he’s in great hands. Friendly staff and doctors. Thank you so much for seeing my babies on such short notice. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I took my pup here for the first time, for urgent services, not quite an emergency. They said I could be waiting all day for him, as he was going to get fit in between schedules patients. He was done in less an hour- with medications ready to go! That’s quicker than a scheduled vet visit at VCA! Seriously the friendliest staff! They were way nicer, timelier, and willing to help than his previous vet (VCA Pearl City), with comparable prices. I’m very glad I chose this vet for my herd of 3 large pups! I feel if something bad were to happen to any them, they’d be in the absolute best care!

Our Guinea Pig Rocket was very sick one night and we were panicking. We called Feather and Fur and the receptionist was so kind and understood our urgency. Rocket ended up staying for 2 nights in oxygen therapy and the doctors (Dr. Pressler and Dr. Hancock) were beyond amazing to him. I called once every few hours to check on him and the doctors were always more than willing to explain and listen. These two ladies were so knowledgeable, respectful and patient. I am so grateful he was in their care. He is now home and doing well and I will recommend this animal hospital to anyone. Bring your babies here, they will be in the ultimate care!

I drove there all the way from Hawaii Kai, right past two (probably more)other vets, and I'm so incredibly glad I made the hour long drive! These professionals are amazingly compassionate, helpful, generous, and friendly. I've had a few pets in my life (I'm in my 40's) and have been to several different vets, I must say, this by far, is the nicest, most compassionate and wonderful clinic I've EVER been to. I will ALWAYS come back for any animal needs, regardless of the drive...you can't put a price on your pet's care, its worth it!!

Made a 1:30 appointment and watched as multiple people came and went. After the third call to the front desk to ask when they were coming to get my dog someone finally came out completely unprepared and said they had just gotten the card after 30 minutes of waiting. To top it off it cost $30 more for the same shot at VCA! I guess it’s time to go back to them even if they aren’t great either. I wish I could find a really good veterinarian 😢😖

I had an emergency with my cat and my regular vet was closed. Their answering machine referred me to Feather & Fur. I had never been there before and had always taken my animals to the emergency vet in Kaneohe when I had an emergency. Feather & Fur was by far the better choice, even if I lived in Kaneohe I would have brought her here. My cat was seen by a veterinarian immediately and cared for. The staff is friendly and helpful. The follow up to my visit was impeccable, with a telephone call the next day to check the status and a follow up appointment for an ultrasound. THEN they followed that up with another call. I love my veterinarian and will continue to take my animals there, but for any emergency Feather & Fur is the place to go. If you have recently moved here and are looking for a vet I would highly recommend Feather & Fur.

We recently lost our Cape Parrot to an infection. Birds are so difficult since they hide things until it’s too late most of the time. This experience is pretty much my absolute worst nightmare and to be honest, I’m not sure how we could have handled it if not for the excellent care we and our little Finnley received. We know that he was cared for even in his toughest hours, given scritches and comforted as he fought for his life. Ultimately, his condition was too advanced but I do trust that if there was anything that could have been done to fix it, Dr. Walsh would have done it. Sometimes there just isn’t and we will never be able to make sense of it, but we can live through it thanks to the gentleness and kindness we received. Dmitry spent a lot of time speaking with my husband when he arrived to pick up a few things we’d left with Finn. I understand he was very kind during that time. He took good care of our little guy when we couldn’t be there and we received feathers that he took the time to save for us. I wanted some feathers as soon as I learned what happened and we almost were embarrassed to ask, but it was already done for us. I couldn’t believe how thoughtful that was. No one ever wants to go through this sort of thing, it’s awful for families and I’m sure veterinarians and their staff as well. But when the worst happens, being treated with this level of compassion is what counts. Thank you to everyone who tried to help our little Finn. We are so impressed with you all ♥️

My cat is my baby and ive never really had issues with him before. I took him here and I was so worried about him but they did an amazing job with making me feel comfortable and calm. They did an amazing job with him and they were super friendly!!

About 4-5 months ago, my pet rabbit was exhibiting signs of severe illness and was sick to the point that he could barely move around the house by himself. Fairly late into the night, I took him to a nearby 24-hour animal hospital and was told that nobody on-staff could see "exotic" pets after hours; they referred me to Feather and Fur. As soon as I brought him in, I was amazed at the professionalism, competence, and compassion of the staff here. He spent almost three days recovering at Feather and Fur, and I was called with an update on his status at least once (usually twice) a day. I was given updates every step of the way and was presented with treatment options in a clear and easy-to-understand manner. I can honestly say that my rabbit is currently an alive-and-well 5-year-old primarily due to the people at Feather and Fur.

Came into the clinic early one morning for an emergency situation with my bird. The staff immediately assisted me and were very responsive to my bird's needs. Dr. Mina carefully listened to my concerns and provided me with helpful information that assisted me in making the appropriate treatment decision/plan for my bird. Overall, my experience was very positive as the staff were trustworthy, caring, and extremely proficient in what they do. Highly recommended!

I recently went to Feather & Fur seeking help with my dog who was very sick and needed urgent care on a Sunday, when our regular vet was closed. After my past experiences with other emergency care veterinarians, I was worried and anxious about the care she would receive. I cannot stress enough how grateful I am for each of the staff members who assisted me and my beloved dog. Even on a very busy Sunday, every person gave me and my dog undivided care, attention, and showed true concern and compassion. I also overheard them providing this same amazing service to the other pets and their owners. I know they were in a rush, but they fully listened to my concerns, empathized with me and my animal, and were thorough and professional in their assessment and treatment of my pet. What I valued the most was the emotional support they provided during a difficult time. I truly felt their love and passion for helping and healing animals. I’ll definitely come here again if there is ever another emergency, and I recommend them to anyone else. Mahalo nui loa.

This is the best veterinarian hospital for birds on Oahu. I really like the doctors and staff. They truly care about your animals. The people here are friendly, helpful and cheerful. I am even thinking of maybe bringing our dogs here. I don't think you will be disappointed if you bring your animal here. The prices are also reasonable and they accept Care Credit so that's a plus for me😁

I took my dog Brownie here late one night because he had cut open his paw. It was the closest place to my house that was still open because the Kaneohe VCA that Brownie usually goes to closes at 9pm. Feather and Fur is located in a shopping center so it has more than enough parking available. Because we were there in the middle of the night it wasn't very busy and we didn't need to wait long at all. The staff were all very friendly and even offered Brownie a treat while I filled out check-in paperwork. Brownie ended up needing stitches for his paw which also meant that they needed to give him anesthesia. I hadn't thought that his cut was serious enough for stitches but trusted that the vet knew what was best. The bill cost me around $700 which I wasn't too excited about but I was happy to have Brownie taken care of. They sent him home with the cone of shame to keep him from messing with his stitches and told me to keep it on him for 10 days but I didn't have to heart to leave it on past the first day. I ended up just putting a sock over his paw and that worked out alright for us.

3 yrs. ago, I was told that my beloved Chihuahua needed to be euthanized by a vet at VCA in Kaneohe. A colleague from work told me to get a second opinion at Feather & Fur. He saw Dr. Hancock and she told me she didn't agree with the previous prognosis. I am glad I brought him here. My guy is well and just as spry as he was when he was an adolescent. He is 12yrs. old turning 13 in January. I cannot thank them enough!

Today my family brought our cat to feather and fur thinking there was no chance he was going to be okay. We moved to Hawaii and for the first time ever experienced fleas. Our cat lost more than half his body weight, wasn’t even getting up to use the liter box. The Vet today gave us some hope, & understanding that most the meds we were probably using Hawaii fleas were resistant too. And that our cat could recover and gain some weight back. Now we’re on track to do so. Our experience here was awesome. We really didn’t think our kitty would be coming back home with us.

I go here for my two dogs and cat. They are always very sweet and helpful. They answer every question I have and give me the best product for them. They also remember me and my pets too. A couple of times I have came in with my cats kennel and a dog or two dogs in my arms (I don’t trust them walking in the busy parking lot) everytime they offer to help me with my pets to my car no matter how far away I park. Dr. Brooke’s is great too!

Great help from Dr. Walsh for my parakeet. He was able to see him quickly and diagnosed his problem quickly, too. He also took the time to answer my follow up questions in a clear way. Having an on-site lab for their testing is a great benefit

I've been going to this clinic off/on since mid 90's and I have nothing negative to say. Everyone is super nice, they work with you, nothing is "new" to them, treat u and ur pet with respect and are reasonably priced. Additionally they are open 24/7. Which I think is awesome!!!! There's no ER vet charge! Dr. Walsh is awesome! Thanks F&F💙🌼🐕

Best clinic on Oahu! After trying several clinics since moving here we will stay with Feather & Fur. Great vets, great staff, great office, reasonable prices and most importantly treat your animals well. It is a 40 min drive for us but well worth it. They have weekend hours and after hour emergency care. All around fantastic vet clinic.

Edit: for exotic pets, definitely go to Kalihi pet clinic. Feather and Fur is still great for everything else, but Kalihi is much better (in my opinion) for exotic pets. Very professional and caring. The only negative I have is that the price for a consultation seemed steep to me at $79 for an exotic pet. I would certainly recommend them to anyone else who has a pet other than a cat or dog.

Whichever lady veterinarian that working the graveyard shift around 2 am helped me tremendously in dealing with my kitten's pyrethrin poisoning over the phone. Another emergency veterinarian place that I called would've required me to call poison control (PC) services and pay PC's fee so that PC could tell the veterinarian team at that place what they needed to do to treat the poisoning. The doctor at Feather & Fur, on the other hand, immediately knew what I was talking about, gave out a detailed treatment plan (if her assessment of the cat matched the diagnosis) of what she would do if I brought my cat in, and gave honest rates & costs that would've been associated with it. When I told her I'd improvise off of her treatment plan, she was rightly concerned and caring enough to make sure I knew I could come in or call at any time if things took a turn for the worse. Even though I never went in, I was able to to stop my kitten's tremors and stiff limbs going off of her hypothetical in-patient treatment plan. Hours later, he's now back to hopping around and walking about...in fact, as I was typing this, he brought in a rat he caught outside... I've been rambling too much, but this veterinarian with 15 years of experience at Feather & Fur really cares for animals and has the knowledge and know-how to help them. If the rest of the veterinarians and staff at Feather & Fur are like her, know that your pets are in good hands.

I have taken my puppy to a few places. But this place is hands down the best. They are so good with my dog and thoroughly take the time to explain what they are doing, why they are gonna do it and how much it will cost. I don't think it costs too much more than some of the other places, but it's worth it to me to have piece of mind about where I'm taking my baby.

I absolutely love this vet, every time I’ve been the staff is super friendly and great with my pets however, I always book an appointment and show up 5 or so minutes before my appointment and then sit in the parking lot waiting for 30-45 minutes waiting for them to take my dog(s). I make appointments so I don’t have to sit in a small car with 2 screaming huskies waiting and yet still end up in the car for about a half hour each time waiting for them to intake my dogs.
