Staff are pleasant and the price for the procedure was very reasonable. The communication before, during and after the procedure was excellent and greatly appreciated. Highly recommended.

We've been going to EHAC for 4 years. We started with their Puppy Plan. I'm not sure if that's what it's actually called, BUT it's a great way to save money on shots and vet visits for the first year with a new puppy. We love the staff! Everyone is so nice, and the Dr.s are very kind! Our Pirahna and GodZilla love everyone who works there. They are never nervous, or anxious being inside, and they love sniffing all the spots outside, 😆

I am so grateful to East Hartford Animal Clinic. When we picked up our dogs after boarding for the holiday, we were told one of our dogs had developed an abscess. Our normal vet was closed for the holiday weekend, so we took him to a 24-hour hospital the next morning. They gave him antibiotics and painkillers and suggested that we take him to his vet for follow-up. Upon calling our regular vet after the holiday, we discovered he had retired, and the new vet was only working 3 days per week and could not see us until 2 weeks later. They refused to work us in as an emergency and could not refer us to another vet. A friend suggested East Hartford Animal Clinic. They were able to get us an appointment the following day. They gave a preliminary cancer diagnosis and were extremely empathetic as I teared up at the news. They were also patient as I contacted my husband to get the names of the prior prescriptions. They were able to give us medication to help keep him comfortable and to refer us to an oncologist. Thank you EHAC. ❤️

They are more than accommodating. Meridian vet refused to see my dog because we were running 10 minutes late due to traffic. My dog was an emergency case. East Hartford is awesome. They gave me an appointment the same day and even accommodated us for treatment the next day.

My baby girl faithlyn was really getting depressed because she was in heat, she wasn't eating and was losing weight fast. Hartford Animal Clinic was one of the only vet that took her in shot notice to get her fixed. She was home by the same afternoon and was able to rebound with her siblings. Dr. Linda Kane, Laura, and the rest of the staff at EHAC have been great to work with over these last few weeks. My partner and I adopted our rescue pup on a Friday and were able to get an appointment for the following Monday for a check up and some vaccines/shots. They were lifesavers in squeezing us in on such short notice. Our pup Momo also felt very comfortable and safe in their care. I'm looking forward to keeping Momo healthy and happy with their future care!

Never been here but my buddy successfully been treating his dog here for over a year and they never once suggested a solution that includes bad taste sprays or bandages.. so they sell him stuff monthly and his pet suffers.. one year later. Wound has not healed.. buy my rx scam

Cannot thank Dr Sidorak and the entire staff at EHAC for saving my dog Sochi this week. He was so sick with a nasty GI bug. Proper exam with appropriate testing revealed he would need IV fluids for a couple of days. We came three days in a row to get my dog feeling better. He is on the mend. I had an extremely sick ferret and nobody would see her. I looked online and found the East Hartford Animal Clinic Dr. Barrios was willing to see her. She was given 2 iv treatments and some medicine to take home. Daisy ferret is better. She is herself now. I am so very grateful. Everyone here was so nice and so helpful. Able to get my girl in for a spay and a declaw removal within 24 hours (someone canceled). My dog is very strong and a bit of a spazz. Dr. Barriosnuevos and his team were great getting us in and out. Their system of calling in to be seen when you are in the parking lot seems to work well. No long wait time. Even though my girl has been having a difficult time keeping still we are a week in and she’s healing well. The front office team is very nice and like I said they move you in and out quickly. I had to go back to be seen 3 days after surgery and 1 week after surgery (today) and the visit was quick and pleasant.

We have always received the highest level of care from Dr. Berrios and his staff, at the most affordable price. We found Dr. Berrios after 3 other vets could not help my 2 y/o American Cocker Spaniel stop scratching. Benji was scratching so hard that he created an open sore in his neck. He was no longer his happy go lucky, tail wagging self. He was so very miserable & I was so very distraught seeing him this way. Dr. Berrios did a thorough workup to make sure that there wasn't a more serious underlying medical problem. He treated Benji for the infection the scratching caused in his neck and also prescribed a medication to put a stop to his itching. Within 2 days, Benji was scratching less & he returned to his sweet, loving personality. Recently I had Benji neutered and prior to his surgery I received a call that Dr. Berrios had found an umbilical hernia on Benji's pre-op physical exam. This allowed for the possibility of having a second surgery for a greatly reduced fee and much more importantly, saving Benji from having to undergo anesthesia a second time. What I paid for Benji's TWO surgeries was far less than what I would have paid from other vets for the neutering alone. Lastly, I also have Benji followed by a holistic vet to minimize the amount of vaccines he receives and to use natural products & treatments wherever possible. Dr. Berrios and his staff have been very respectful of my wishes after making their recommendations for Benji's preventive care. Oops, one more thing. Although, neutering & repair of a simple hernia are not major surgeries and Dr. Berrios has extensive education and experience, I was still very nervous about Benji undergoing any type of surgery. Amanda was the vet tech who cared for Benji post-op. She kept me well informed. They let me leave one of my shirts with Benji so he'd smell my scent when he woke up and she was even willing to tell him "Mommy loves you!" as he was waking up. She didn't even laugh at any of my requests. I have been very pleased with the care and treatment my best friend has received from the East Hartford Animal Clinic.

They made me feel so comfortable throughout the entire process - from calling me ahead of time to review expectations for the day and costs, to spending time with me when I arrived, to calling me after the surgery to share an update, and following up with me to see how the dogs were doing the day after. This place is amazing! I brought my dog here to get neutered after searching many clinics many months ago. This was the only place that had an appointment available and I am so happy that it was. The technicians here we're amazing. Starting from the phone service all the way until I left. Not only were the people amazing but what surprised me most was that they were up front with the costs. I love this vet they are so amazing they know each and every one of their customers pets name. I found them when my when my now 14 year old Maltese dog was having arthritis pain in his back paws.. They are very affordable they make sure they show you pricing when you are there & before they start operating or doing anything on your pet. They don't push u to buy nothing u don't need or want,, They are the only vet that's cheap and affordable around here They have friendly vets & receptionists and they always try to get your pet in as soon as possible. I recently just had Puppies 4 months ago and my dog vet was just amazing Doc Linda she gave me all the information that I will need she made me feel better about the delivery process. I'm a first time puppies breeder so it was all new I was worried about everything but Doc Linda was emailing me back-and-forth after the puppy was born given me advice & reassurance that this can happen that won't happen and look out for this and if I need any help to just call or just come in. What more can a loving pet parent ask for fr a vet but compassion kindness respect and patience. I had brought my new puppy to see Dr. Kane this past fall and loved the attention and care we received. East Hartford Animal Clinic could see my beloved cat within a day. My rabbit was spayed here a week ago. Everything went well. The price is very reasonable. The team is friendly. The vet himself called us when she was done. They gave me medication that needed or potentially needed for my bun. The medication was packed neatly. They called me the day after to make sure that she was okay. My boy, Goose, is a Labrador Retriever. He's an amazing dog, but ear infections? Not so amazing. I brought him home from his breeder with one and was very worried (I've never had a dog have an ear infection before), so a week and a half ago I reached out to EHAC for an appointment. I called on Thursday, they got me in the following Monday. They truly took their time and were very kind to both him and me. So far his ears seem a bit better, here's to hoping they continue on that trend haha.

All the staff were professional and friendly. They explained everything to me and the costs of each recommendation, without pressuring me to buy anything. Found out my cat had a heart murmur and the doctor took the time to explain different scenarios and that I should follow up with a cat cardiologist, but she knew it was a lot to take in on a first visit so to take my time and call/return with any questions. Definitely recommend!!

I have been coming to this practice for a few years. I am even willing to travel out of my normal area that I live to have my furr babies seen by this wonderful practice. You can expect that your pets will be treated with kindness, love like it's Thier own and dignity. This place tries it's best to be as accommodating as they can and will go above and beyond if they have the ability to. They are exceptionally reasonable on prices. You will always know and are given choices on the services that they can provide that day along with the price before the procedure is done. They are always great at answering any questions you have and the advice is great. Need future care like vaccines, they have an amazing program that you can pay for that helps w the cost of them and they have a great system for email and text reminders for appointments and upcoming services your pet may need. They are worth the 30min drive for me and my pets and I will always recommend and continue to recommend east Hartford animal clinic to anyone that needs pet services.

I’ve only been once so far with my new puppy. The staff that we’ve interacted with were super friendly. I just felt really rushed and the parking lot was packed. The vet didn’t really ask a lot of questions or recommend anything. She basically just asked if I had any concerns and if I had noticed any bumps as she looked him over for ticks I presume. My pup wouldn’t stay on the scale for longer than a second either so I’m not 100% about his recorded weight. The price was very reasonable and most reviews are great so we’ll definitely be returning. I’m hoping they were just busier than normal that day and time.

Dr. Barrios and his team are simply excellent at taking care of your family-pet. From the basics to the serious surgeries, this clinic performs extraordinarily. I took my ferret, Mousse, here and he got blood work (30 minutes for results- that's quick work) and Dr. Barrios also performed two surgeries (removed two serious growths). I brought Mousse in the morning and a few hours later he was good to go. My family and I were obviously very nervous about the surgery, but Dr. Barrios and his team took the time to speak with us and explain the procedure etc. After the surgery I saw Mousse and he looked great, as if nothing happened. He was a little sleepy, but showed no signs of pain. I honestly was surprised at how well everything worked out. Now regarding pricing, for the quality care your family-pet is receiving I believe the price point is very fair. I felt extremely happy and thankful leaving East Hartford Animal Clinic. A huge shout-out to Dr. Barrios and his team! Thank you all for taking such good care of Mousse, he is recovering well!

Very good experience. Went with our 6yr old rescue bulldog and we were in and out in about 10 minutes. My wife signed her up for some prepaid shots program at her first check up so we didn't have to pay anything for her shots on this visit. Staff was very nice and friendly.

The only thing was that they gave me a quote but that did not include all the items that would be needed in the price. So the cost was more than the quote. Other than that they were great!

I highly recommend the East Hartford Animal Clinic. The staff is amazing. They go over everything with you whether it's routine or a more in-depth procedure. My dogs are wary of strangers but they were very comfortable with the staff. I was so nervous bringing my dog to get spayed, as a lot of people are, I’m sure! I had never been to this clinic before, but the staff was so reassuring and helpful when I expressed my concerns at drop off. They gave me a midday call to let me know how my baby was doing and were so great and patient at answering any and all of my questions at pick up. The very next morning, I got a phone call from them first thing to make sure she was doing well. The icing on the cake was how reasonably priced they were! By far the cheapest I found in my long search for where to bring her. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a place that will truly care about their animal as if they were their own!

I cannot say enough great things about this place... This was my situation. My daughter’s Guinea Pig was not acting normal when i got home. Out of panic i went to the location in East Hartford. I called in from their parking lot and they were more than accommodating. They made space to attend my daughter’s pet. I was told there was an emergency visit fee of $135.00 which i was ready to pay on top of the check up. I tell you, after they took Panda 🐼 in, the Veterinarian came out to the car and explained what was going on. He told the vet tech that was with him not to charge me the Emergency fee. I swear this place is a place that truly cares about their Furry patients and their Owners. Please support this Location. They are GREAT! 💯

Amazing vet care! Prices are very reasonable compared to a regular vet and the care and patience is better! Although it’s a small clinic, everything is done within an exceptional amount of time. I brought an older cat here for the first time in early September. When most veterinarians were unwilling to accept new clients due to the pandemic, East Hartford Animal Clinic was very welcoming. All of the staff were very caring and concerned about my cat’s health problems. Sadly, my cat was at the late stages of an untreatable disease and her life came to end. Should a new pet be part of my future, I would certainly call East Hartford Animal Clinic!

If you have a bearded dragon, don’t waste your time coming here. The Doctor has no specialty in exotic animals, doesn’t even know how to handle them, and he didn’t even examine my beardie, and he was grabbing her all sorts of way to the point that she was very stressed and wanted to run away from him. Our appointment was at 9am, it ended at 9:10, so he basically just talked for 10mn and he didn’t tell me nothing I didn’t already know, and they charged me $70 for all that. Lol

this was my first experience with this vet. The receptionist and technician / nurse were very kind and answered all my questions.They were efficient, and knowledgeable, and the prices were reasonable. I took my 7 month old kittens for their spay/neuter. My babies are doing well post op...their incisions are clean, and healing well so far...only on day 3...but my kids are almost back to normal already! Would definitely recommend! !

A little confused. I called to make a appointment because I suspect my dog having a cavity. I specified I need a confirmation if my dog has a cavity. Booked the appointment, went there. They were very professional and friendly. The doctor looked at my dogs teeth for 5 seconds and tell me she can not confirm if that's a cavity or just discoloration unless they do xray. They said they do not have the equipment for that so she gave me a list of canine dentistry where I can book a x-ray for my dog. And they sent us home. I'm confused if they knew they cannot confirm the cavity and do not have the equipment for it. Shouldn't they refer me to dentistry in the first place? They had me come in to tell me they cannot tell me whether she has a cavity without x-rays and billed me $67 for giving me a list of animal dentistry and "physical". I attached the recommended places for dental issues so you guys can save yourselves a trip and unnecessary bills.

Finally an exotics vet I don't have to take out another mortgage to visit! I thought the staff was very welcoming and the care delivered was good. I didn't have any problems setting up an appointment that saw my ferret quickly. The clinic is an older establishment, but the first thing I noticed walking through the door was that it was very clean. There was no "animal" smell that you sometimes find in clinics. If you ever do encounter that, walk right back out the door. If they can't keep it clean, they can't keep your pet safe. I will definitely go back. I live in Danbury,, so it's a hike. But I think it's worth it.

I just had my bunny Bisy spayed and chose this facility because of their great reviews regarding care and cost. Caring for your pet can't always mean being able and willing to shell out hundreds or thousands of dollars, it just isn't possible for me. For her health, the spay was a priority but I was quoted literally hundreds less than a few other vets that take "exotics". The procedure went smoothly, staff was super friendly and followed up a few times the next day. Bisy is feeling great. Thanks so much!! Really!

I brought my male cat to be neutered. Excellent service, they treated him so well. The paperwork I filled out said they **HIGHLY recommended** a cone for the cat after being fixed. I purchased one via EH Animal Clinic. I called back a week later, asking when he can have it off. They told me they aren't recommended for male cats, and they're for female cats. I was confused, I wish they would have mentioned that when I discussed purchasing one from them. They also removed and threw away his flea collar, and didn't realize it until I was home. They had only told me they didn't recommend them because the one I had was not good for cats, they damage their skin. They then recommended a Seresto collar, which I have ordered. I didn't think it was fair that they removed it and tossed without my consent, but if it means keeping my cat healthy and happy, it's fine. Next time, I wish they would let the owner know they are removing and throwing it away. Not enough to take away a star. My baby boy is happy, neutered and vaccinated, and I plan on returning! EDIT: Neutering, 2x Vaccinations, and the cone was $154

I absolutely love East Hartford Animal Clinic. My Little Wynnie was sick and she is never really friendly as we all know how CHIHUAHUAS are. But they warmed up to her and she warmed up to them. The nurse was absolutely so loving and patient and nothing was done without my sayso... everything was explained in detail and I didn't have an outrageous bill. In Two days Wynnie was getting back to her old self. The clinic has friendly staff and the place is nice and clean... its very easy to find cause it is right on the avenue. <3 I recommend East Hartford Animal Clinic for all vet needs.

So that I could make an informed decision on how to care for Max. When I called with concerns over the weekend the on call doctor followed up with me with in a half hour. My boyfriend and I have been bringing our 10 month old boxer mix here since we got her this past March; Although we have not had any "bad experiences" per se, we have do only have ONE reason for continuing to bring our pup here and that reason is because of the vet tech, Shelby. We took our beloved furry girl Baby to East Hartford Animal Clinic for a prometra spayed surgery. They took excellent care of our cat and her health need, but more importantly kept us calm during the process. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO! We have had to take our beloved furry girl Baby to East Hartford Animal Clinic for a second time due to bowel issues. Dr. Kane took excellent care of Baby during the initial visit, sadly we to bring Baby after the constipation was still an issue. Baby was taken care, but the after care instructions were not clear, medication scripts were not give, and it takes days for staff to approve scripts. We now faced with running out of medication, and are told scripts are approved until late in the day. Seems to me, if you want an animal on medication you give the owner the prescription. Very sad and upset with the lack of care.

I'm surprised at all the negative reviews here because we've had nothing but good experiences here. Then again we've never had to bring our cat in for any emergencies. Whatever care we give her has always been appreciated by the staff. They've always given Pepper good treatment and took the incentive to recommend sedation when she gets her annual checkup as she can be very feisty and took the time to answer any questions we had as well as followup in a timely fashion. Unlike the previous clinic in East Hartford we used, they never used any kind of scare tactics to make us approve treatments that might not be needed. If anything, the office could use more people working the front desk as they always seemed to be overwhelmed when we're there.

While professional, they knew the situation with our dog and still saw him. Our dog, B, has a heart murmur and needs dentistry. Our local vet recommended E Htfd Animal Clinic for dentistry work with his condition. We called, explained situation. We brought B in and they couldn't do anything until dental xrays were taken. 1st, if you do dentistry why don't you have xray machine for that? 2nd, if you knew you would require xrays, why even waste your/our time/money/etc to see B.

Honestly I called and was able to get in 45 minutes later which was amazing. Clyde had a bout of diarrhea and the doctor and tech did absolutely everything to put me at ease and rule out any potential diseases which I was really worried about as I work with shelter dogs and while I take precautions I still worry about bringing things home. I was so worried about my baby dog because he means the world to me and the patience and care they had with him was great. He's really shy with strangers and I don't know anything about his background and the girls were so gentle and slow with him and it meant a lot to me. I've brought my cats here in the past for routine care and my elderly cat had a surgery and a few dentals. I live about 35 miles away from the clinic but it is absolutely worth the drive and I wouldn't trust any other vets with my beloved pets. They are all friendly and compassionate and find a way to make room especially when your animal is sick. I highly recommend them to everyone!!!! Our 8 year old ferret had a real bad growth on the back of her neck which was constantly bleeding in losing. He recommended surgery and told us that there was a 50-50 chance only because she was so old. Unfortunately she passed after the surgery and the staff was very compassionate offered us free cremation and when we decided to bury her in our own backyard they didn't charge us for anything up to and after the surgery. Our little Shih Tzu had a couple of bad molars and other vets had told us it would be 1500 to $2,000 to remove them. Dr. Barrios and his staff not only remove the bad molars but any other teeth that were in bad shape and never charged over the amount that was quoted. For the same price that was quoted at other vets for this particular surgery we were able to get two ferrets two cats and the dog all their physicals their yearly shots and the surgery for the same price if not less. I can't believe some of the reviews I'm reading here after all the good experiences I have had with this vet.

I'm surprised to hear that some people gave bad reviews. I have seen Dr. Barrios at East Hartford Animal Clinic in the past with a previous pet and had an excellent experience. This time I had a sick monitor lizard. I was feeling very guilty that we had been unable to bring him to the vet sooner as our financial situation was bad. They were very accommodating and got us in as soon as were were able. Dr. Barrios did not judge us for not coming sooner, nor did he try to get us to spend money that he did not have. Instead he was very caring and gave us an honest diagnosis and let us know all the things we could do given the diagnosis and the options. I have been to other vets- hell, I even worked for another vet- and I am positive that the same situation would have other vets recommending things that would have cost hundreds of dollars more with the same ultimate outcome. I appreciated his honesty, caring, and the helpfulness of the staff, the prices, and the convenience of their hours. I will give him high marks to anyone who asks and will return again.

We have a neighborhood cat that was abandoned some time ago that we have been trying to take care of. When we were finally able to get her to trust us enough and let us take care of her, we brought her to East Hartford Animal Clinic (who made a very last minute appt for us!) and they took great care of her. We were able to get her vaccinated, have really terrible mats removed from her fur (which Robbie did on a whim without an appointment and did such a great job!), and get her flea and tick medication covered. Gimli still has a long way to go before she's in tip top shape, but you can tell how grateful she is for all of the care she received! She even hung out in the house with us for the whole evening last night! Thank you guys!

To see these poor comments from people is so upsetting. To say this clinic is expensive or has over charged you for something that was clearly and substantially less then most clinics is crazy. They are one of the only clinics that have very reasonable fees for their services and are always willing to set you up a payment plan. They also go above and beyond to help their customers pets because they know their not just a pet but a family member. I've brought my young male cockatiel Louie a couple times and both times they were extremely helpful and put my mind at ease. Louie gets stressed and anxious very easily so handling him is not the easiest thing which that was the one thing I was very worried about and the vet was so gentle that my bird actually looked relaxed. The first time I called to make an appt for Louie I was worried I wouldn't be able to get in right away because typically at majority of non emergency animal clinics if your not already a patient there your first appt wouldn't be for two or more weeks but at this clinic I was able to get an appt right away which was amazing to me. Louie had a respiratory infection and the doctor gave me antibiotics. He went above and beyond for me by mixing the pills into a liquid form so Louie and his sister Luca could get their antibiotics thru their drinking water and seeing that Louie still wasn't comfortable being handled that was the easiest way. For him to even think about the sister Luca saying that he was worried she could get sick and gave me enough meds for both birds really showed he cares about the animals. They also called me before his follow up appt just to check up on Louie to see how he's feeling and they did that after every appt I had for him. For them to actually take the time and call you just to see how things are doing was a big plus for me. I've never had any of my past veterinarians take the time to do that or to ask one of the assistants to do that. Basically I'm saying that this is my favorite animal clinic and many of my friends favorite. They make me feel welcome and at ease. I know I'll never switch to another clinic and I know that the next visit Ill need for my dog will be with them. I drive over 30min just to get there and I have two different vets that are less then 5 min from my house that have had good reviews and I still won't switch. Thank You East Hartford Animal Clinic for doing your best and being your best keep it up!!!

I took my bunny in for a mani-pedi and was pleased with the care they provided. It was very clean and they were careful clipping her nails. She is a feisty bunny and it was much easier to just transport a few minutes rather than a lengthy trip on the highway. I only gave 4 stars as they cannot provide in emergent care.

I will always recommend East Hartford Animal Clinic to everyone I know. Anyone with pets understands how expensive it can be to find quality care but EHAC is not only affordable, but every single person on their team is kind and educated. Even at their busiest, I have never felt that the facility was unsanitary and no one let the chaos affect their customer service. The only complaint I have is parking, but they share a small lot, so it's not in their control.

It is too soon to warrant a 10, but Zeuss was happy when we came to the clinic and he was happy when we left. Even after jumping off the exam table like the chowder-head he is. When it comes to being knowledgeable about veterinary medicine, Dr Barrios KNOWS HIS STUFF! Kelly, the Hospital Manager keeps the wheels greased and the clinic running smoothly. Then when it comes to making your pets feel comfortable and at ease during their time at EHAC, Precious is just oh so precious. The only downside to the clinic is that they got a little house cat who lives there named Marmalade. Marmalade can be a bit on the moody and temperamental side. So, if she's having a bad day, you just need to stay outa her lane!
