Today we called about farm vets to see if we could get one out to the house. Within no more than 10 minutes they had Meggan Freeland at our house attending to our family pet. Not only was it quick but she knew just what to do. He’s recovering now but our family can not express how thankful we are for the team at South Kent. You guys are amazing, thank you!

Great staff! Very compassionate! Very carrying. Place is very clean. Best prices vs vets in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They saw my German shepherd since he was like 8 months old till his death at 11 1/2 years. They were so amazing through all those years!! Best place to take your pets.

We bring all six of our furry friends to Southkent and each one is met with a huge smile and lots of treats. We trust our friends at Southkent and appreciate their kind natures, patience, and all of the love they give each of our pets. The reception staff is wonderful and we get a call reminder for each appointment that we have. They are very reasonably priced. We have working breed dogs and they understand the unique needs and personalities of each one. Our two cats even enjoy their visits! HIGHLY recommend! We won't go anywhere else, and the dogs get excited for reach visit.

They were friendly and careful when handing my cat🐈 made sure he felt comfortable around them answered all my questions and got a call same day on his lab report. Showed me where his back teeth has just a little build up will have that taken care in October. Got his 2 shots weighted said for his age at 8 years old and his size he is just a little underweight nothing to worry about. He had a great check up. Even my cat was happy with the atmosphere. Place was very clean.

I wish I asked the tech's name, but I went in today for a torn dew claw on our dog. The anxiety of it was too much and Rio had a seizure at the office. The tech was the best! She was very kind and calm (which both me and dog needed). Even gave me a lesson on trimming claws so I could do a better job myself. I don't care which doc I see there, but would like to request that tech next time!

I love my vet clinic! We've had our 5 fur babies going there for 3 years now. The entire staff is fantastic. Any time I have an emergency the get back to me quickly. For the Grand Rapids area they have the some of the best prices on vaccines and oral care.

We have taken our cats and dogs to this clinic, and had Dr. Bob Jackson for many, many year until he retired. He was excellent with our fur babies. When he retired we now have Dr. Burns. We have seen her a few times for shots, etc., and she has been very good to us and Reba. Wouldn't think of going any place else. We have been clients there for 34 years.!!!!!!

Dr. Ashley is awesome. She helped my family and I during the end of our time with our 13 year old pup. She was always willing to give her time (even on the weekends) to answer all of our concerns and questions. When the time came for us to say goodbye to our very much loved dog, she guided us through that tough time with her compassion and understanding. We could not have done it without her! Highly recommend.

A sad day on my first visit. I came in to have my cat put down. I was very happy they got me in the same day I called. My cat was in bad shape. Everyone was very nice and caring. They made sure I was ok every step of the process. They treated my cat with care and respect even after he passed. I never felt rushed or a bother to them. A wonderful vet with caring, professional staff willing to see every animal. We took our daughters chicken in and they were so sweet to her. Our dogs are also customers here and the staff does great with our Pitt Bulls anxiety. They make sure he trusts them and that he is comfortable. Easy to get a quick appointment if needed.

We recently brought our dog in for emergency services on a Sunday night, which ended up requiring emergency surgery. The Vet was very quick, friendly and informative about our options. We ended up moving forward with surgery, and are now so thankful to be able to come home with our beloved family member. I have to admit, I was a little scared to see the bill but was amazed by how reasonable it was - I would do it all again in a heartbeat! We really appreciate the professionalism, quickness to respond and affordable care this organization offers. I'd recommend them to everyone! They have a customer for as long as we're able to have pets.

If you love your pet there is no better place to be. The doctors are extremely competent and very caring. The support staff are excellent. The facility is spotless. Even if they were on the other side of county I would still go there. Their prices are fair. They never take advantage of you on hard to get or expensive prescriptions. Bottom line, they are absolutely trustworthy. If there is something they can't help you with, they will find someone who will. I wish I could get healthcare for my human family that was this good.

The staff is very kind and positive. They always do a fantastic job caring for my dogs. They have traveling specialists to help with complex issues. The only negative is the phone process. You typically have to leave a message and wait for a call back. The staff is not always responsive to listening to messages. The last time, I waited 4 hours and called back. The staff members said "oh yeah, I heard you message and was going to call, but i just had not gotten to it yet."

The veterinary staff is great, but the reception staff is terrible. There's about a 1 in 10 chance someone will answer the phone during business hours and about a fifty-fifty chance of someone returning your call. When I had cause to ask the staff why it's so hard to contact them, the girl shrugged it off. I love my vet, but they need better staff, badly.

We've been taking our family dogs & cats here for 30 years and are always pleased with the level of love and professional care they receive. We typically make an appointment in advance, and as such are typically in an exam room within a few minutes. You can certainly pay more elsewhere, but I doubt you'll receive more. Give these good folks a look!

Brought them a very sick cat and they took very good care of him. He was better in 2 weeks. They had to run blood and urine tests and i thought oh great there goes my check. To my surprise they were much cheaper than another vet i had do this same procedure a few years prior. They always take good care of my pets. Went to other vets in past and got lied to and overcharged. I now drive an hour to go see them, its totally worth it.

My family has gone here for over 20 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have moved a few times during that time and no matter how long the drive was I still staid here. All of the staff is very friendly and very passionate about there job. They also have really good pricing for all of there care from just regular vaccines to surgeries as well.

South Kent accommodates all the needs well beyond any other clinic I have ever frequented. It is amazing how rude clients are to staff, who are just doing their job. I have been absolutely disgusted by clients, who come into the office with unrealistic demands. The veterinarians are going above and beyond, which is many times overlooked by clients, who seem to think that vets are able to see all pets immediately. As for the practice manager, APRIL, kudos to her for remaining professional despite the ridiculousness of clients and the pressures that come with her position. Good job South Kent! The integrity of this office does not go unnoticed.

Clean and professional, and they care about you and your pets. We brought in our son's new service dog, and the trainer who was with us said this was the best vet he's seen anywhere. We called later with some questions, and they were very helpful on the phone too!

Great office. The front desk is caring and nice (you can't say that with all vets). When you call, they are nice and helpful. The vets are great! Again, caring and honest. Also...it's not crazy expensive. It's fair and worth the 25 minute drive for me. I have three furboys and they weren't even nervous while there.

These guys are really good and I didn't feel over charged at all. My little dachshund had a hurt foot and we almost took her downtown to emergency but South Kent strongly recommended that we wait until their foot and leg specialist was in at 9am. We kept my dog comfortable as we could for a couple hours and took her to south Kent and I'm so glad we did. As soon as you go to the hospital it's at least a thousand dollars. It was taken care of for only $152 total. Money isn't the most important thing when we're talking about a loved one but it sure did feel good to have my dog taken care of so well and to not have to dip in to my savings account for it. Very thankful I waited the extra two hours for them to see me.

Great pricing for Emergency calls. Same day appointments available. Very honest with diagnosis and treatment regimen for both my cat and dog. Other vet clinics said my cat had feline leukemia or cancer. Southkent Vet Cats health condition, tests, labs, medicine and pricing were far less than expected.

Our dog needed an emergency leg amputation. South Kent was able to see us quickly and the surgery was scheduled and completed within about 24 hours. Dr. Burns was direct and honest, and given our situation that was greatly appreciated. The pricing was very fair, and the staff was professional. Highly recommend!

My sister recommended him to us after many years of great care her dogs received. He does not overtreat, considers all options, including "wait and see," and trusts what his clients have to say. He is instructive in a low-key, clear manner and explains his recommendations. He truly enjoys working with our dogs and with us too. We moved out of state, or we'd still be with him. I have used Southkent Veterinary since moving to Grand Rapids with my Great Dane and found the veterinary staff to be incredibly caring and talented at what they do. They took care of my big guy through end of life, and I have nothing except the best to say about them. That being said, I find the front desk staff to be... lacking. I have come back to the office with a new animal this past year and am disappointed to find that the front desk staff seems noticeably less knowledgeable and more disorganized in comparison to my previous experiences. I consistently struggle to get them to answer the phone or return messages, my new patient records were not prepared before my first appointment, and my appointment was inaccurately set up causing confusion and stress for a new pet. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt, but you can only have so many below average experiences before you realize this might be the new normal. I no longer have faith that if an emergency were to arise, I could get in contact with my vet... and that is an uncomfortable place to be in.

I have been going to South Kent for 25 years. They are so kind. Dr. Burns is one of the best doctors at South Kent and the next in line is Dr. Miller. Their prices are really reasonable. An office visit is between $35-45. They dont try to sell you more xrays, medications, etc. Getting in can sometimes be tricky because they are so busy. At times it is really hard to get a Vet tech to answer the emergency line. Most of the time I have not had a hard time getting my cats in when they really need to. Their office hours are good. I wish they were open on sundays for a little bit. I wish they kept the emergency after hour service now they just send you to Blue Pearl. DO NOT go to Blue Pearl because all they care about is money and not the animal. If you have to take your pet to an emergency after hour place there is one on Plainwell. I took my cat to Blue Pearl and charged me $750 to drain fluid off my 5 month old kitten and South Kent did it for $189. South Kent Vets take their time with my cats. Dr. Burns has even called me after hours to answer my questions. They truly care about your pets. When my black cat, Jakie, had to have a lump removed by his ear and had to stay the night they allowed to see him as often as I wanted to. I did see alot of their cages were rusty and old looking. The cages are in a small closet type room making my cat really close to other cats. My OCD with germs hit me hard. I was worried he might get something from the other cats because they were so close together. I trust them but i cant help having that thought. They remodeled. I really wish they would have had a cat side and a dog side. I highly recommend them.

I have had wonderful care for all of our dogs from the staff and vets. Once we called shortly before closing because we noticed our dog hadn't been "wagging" that day. The receptionist told us to bring him right in and they waited until we could get there. He had pancreatitis and need hospitalization but what struck us was that they took such a vague symptom seriously. Our bill for his extensive care was much less than expected. We wouldn't go anywhere else even though we live some distance away.

This veterinary hospital is where I take my 3 animals. I have been going there since 1988. This is the most important place to take your animals. They are very gentle with the animals and take such great care of them. The receptionists are very knowledgeable. and very helpful. I recommend this vet clinic and hospital to everyone.

They saved our toy poodle and our lab mix from parvo! We later had to move an hr .1/2 away from Caledonia and after having a horrible experience with a different vet in Big Rapids we drove the long distance back to South Kent in Caledonia so they could fix what the other vet messed up and let me tell you what, I will NEVER go to any other vet again!! The long drive is SO worth the great knowledgeable treatment my pets get here!!! I have so much respect for this place!! I also have many friends and family members who bring pets here and would say the same!! :)

I’ve been a customer for a very long time. I’ve used this clinic for my dogs and horses. They don’t do horses anymore but I still take our dogs there. I wouldn’t go anywhere else because when I did take my dog locally in Lowell I paid twice as much as I would have at Caledonia. I highly recommend them to anyone that loves their animals.

We are very pleased with the services offered here. Today one of our dogs passed after battling some health conditions that eventually ended his life. Gotti will definitely be missed but we are very satisfied that the doctor who treated him knowing that he did everything he could to give him a fighting chance to survive. True compassion was displayed from the moment we took him in up until the last phone call I made to set up burial/cremation arrangements. Thank all of you who took the time to attend to Gotti.

If they were to ever close I might literally cry. Probably half the price of any vet in my area (forest hills) and they go above and beyond the call of duty on everything. They take all of the worry out of visiting the vet for our cats and Great Dane. I know I can take an animal in and it won't break the bank. Kind people who will answer all of my questions. Have had everything from vaccines to surgeries performed by them. In one case my dog had a minor complication after surgery for an injury and they boarded him for days and kept an eye on him for no extra charge. My old vet in forest hills would have been hundreds for that service alone. I like casemier there the most. The blond dr. with the curly hair is also awesome.

We've came here few years, saved our daughters Yorkies life bought from crooked breeder by Weberville, north of Hesperia. She was toxic carring dead fetus.
