I can't say enough good things about this place. We are new to the area and needed a good local vet. My fur baby was going through some skin issues and I needed a vet stat, they were able to get us in quickly, reasonably priced , and so very kind to my dog. The entire staff was so helpful and knowledgeable. They even called my previous vets out of state to retrieve her records . What was a stressful situation turned into a stress free visit. I would absolutely recommend Robbins Road Animal Hospital.

Dr. Jolee done a great job with our Winston with his dental cleaning and kept us informed thru the process. They even called the day after to check up on him to make sure he was doing ok. We take all our pets here! They are highly recommended!

Everyone you come in contact with at Robins Road will put a smile on your face. My animals can be a little hesitant at first, but soon settle in. Everyone is so gentle with every procedure they hardly know what happened. The treats are plenty.

My new puppies first visit here was such a good one !!! Everyone was so friendly and happy ! Dr Karen was so kind and very knowledgeable that I was instantly sure I had made the RIGHT CHOICE to put RRAC in charge of Dash’s my new puppies care. During the exam he stood up and gave Dr Karen kisses ! He felt very at ease too . Everyone from start to finish of our visit was just so kind ! I left the office feeling happy and so confident in my choice for who I wanted to care for my new fur baby . I rate RRAC 10 out of 10 !!!!!

Before I got my puppy, RRAC graciously took the time to introduce me to the doctors, show me the facility & in general, helped allay any concerns I might have had about his care. When I brought him in for the first time, I was so impressed with the level of service, even though Morse was bummed by the vaccination, he was treated well. Every part of the experience exceeded my expectations. The staff at Robbins Road Animal Clinic is exceptional! I have a twelve year old cat that is usually fearful in the office and often resists the procedures performed, but the staff members are patient, kind, and innovative every step of the way, and they are also knowledgeable about his condition and treatment. Although my cat is not the easiest patient, he receives extraordinary care, and numerous steps are taken to help both of us feel as comfortable as possible. The information, intuition, guidance, and care from Dr. Wennersten is top-notch, and I trust that she and her staff always have my cat’s best interest at heart.

Dr Tom was very thorough when examining our Frenchie and explained our options for treatment exceptionally well. Amazing, caring, and helpful staff. We decided to go to them when we moved the area a few years ago and are happy we did so. Very prompt with responding to emails/phone calls and were very caring to our XL breed dogs. We took them here for all of their vaccinations, as well as any follow-up issues after neutering, and any other health issues that popped up throughout the years, and RRAC was always fantastic. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Got me in super quick for a first time appointment there, then when I had a COVID scare the front desk was very understanding and got me in the next week, which I really appreciated. When I got there I was met with two huge smiles and wonderful enthusiasm. The vet techs were so sweet and gave Skye so much attention, they were so insanely gentle with her and they gave her lots of belly rubs. Dr. Munro was so kind, patient, and loving towards Skye as well, she really liked him. It’s nice knowing my cats will be in good care every time we go!

I have been going to Robbins Road Animal Clinic since 2000 when I moved here. My Vet back home went to college with 2 of their Veterinarians. Jolee has been such a kind and caring person with my pets. Even after her father, George Wennersten retired he operated on my cat because he was not going to make it. The only other choice was Michigan State immediately. He did a great job and Jolee assisted. I now have a new kitty and will go no where else. I love this place. They are always helpful when I call about anything.

I started bringing my shepherd-husky mix as a pup to Jolee's Dad in 1974. Then there was our samoyed mix, followed by cats Oreo, deaf/diabetic/epileptic Motown and then his buddy Cosmo. Jolee, her Dad George and now Dr. Tom, have helped us take all of them from cradle to grave. Then we moved to another part of the county and purely for the sake of convenience went to another Vet's office that was closer to home. But we were having some recurring issues with one of our cats and out of frustration wanted a fresh perspective, second opinion, and came back to see Dr. Tom. He had some insight that helped us to understand what we were dealing with and some suggestions how to handle it. The other Vet's office is good but the visit at RR was like coming home.

Since switching all of our pets to this vets office I have been VERY HIGHLY SATISFIED. Even tho we were a new family of animals/humans joining we are treated like we've been going there for 25yrs. They have taken EXCELLENT care of my daughters dog Dro too. This is a huge change for us because the vet we had been going to for MANY years became 1 disappointment after another. But the service we received on our last visit to that vet was sooo frustrating and downright SAD due to the fact it was our 3rd visit there in 2wks for Big's who was getting worse and worse everyday. They misdiagnosed him on the 1st AND the 2nd visit, they never did take a thorough look over him, just threw antibiotics at it & then that resulted in him not only being too sick to recover that we ended up euthanizing him so his pain would stop. And the absolutely WORSE part was that they directed me to just force him to drink as much water per day from one of those lg plunger type vials that are used to administer meds to a child so he wouldn't get dehydrated. They instructed me to do this to him several times per day. Come to find out that me forcing his mouth open as much as I could to give him fluids, antibiotics & this vitamin paste, that I was actually...well, LITERALLY, torturing him every single time because it turned out that the inside of his mouth was covered with ULCERS, which are EXTREMELY painful. His final, and correct diagnoses was a severe strand of Feline HERPES!! NOT the sex-swap disease that humans can get but the severe type. Had they diagnosed him correctly the 1st time he actually would have made it because 1 of our other cats caught since its HIGHLY contagious & he lived! So needless to say we immediately switched to Robbins Road Clinic.

I am very impressed with your staff. I dropped off records prior to our first visit and your staff reviewed the records and contacted previous vet clinics when they had a question and discovered that one of our dogs had not had a heart worm test when I thought that he did. From the reception staff to the vet techs and veterinarians, everyone is friendly and takes a genuine interest. I traveled this past year and used clinics in 3 different states. I was constantly driving to another city after I moved to go to my recent veterinarian, then an old neighbor told me about Robbins Road Animal Clinic, which wasn't too far from my new residence, after years of being with my previous veterinarian I was skeptical. I decided to give Robbins Road Animal Clinic a chance because I got tired of the drive and I really wished I would have done this years ago as I have been at my new residence for the last 11 years. I have been with Robbins Road Animal Clinic now for the past year and they are even better than where I used to be. Don't be afraid of change because change can be better. They are great! The only thing I've noticed is my appointment time and amount of flee treatment was not what I agreed too. This is probably because their lobby is closed and the details are being lost during their trek back to the office. Maybe they should bring notepads out with them to ensure the information isn't mixed up. Otherwise, they are good to me and my kitty cats!

I've always been pleased with this hospital and the way my pets have been taken care of. Unfortunately, I needed a clinic which also has boarding facilities since I live alone and need somewhere they can be taken care of in case of my own medical emergencies or accidents. With the exception of the rather pricey on-line store meds, I would highly recommend this hospital. Rather sorry to leave.

I moved to Grand Haven from out of state less than a month ago and was not yet established with a vet for my dogs. One of my dogs was bitten by a large dog. When I called Robbins Road vets they got me right in, not knowing me, and having no records on my dog. She required several staples in her neck, antibiotics, and pain meds. Within a day she was getting back to herself. The staff was kind and professional. The bill was very reasonable. They answered all of my questions, and told me to call if she did not start improving. They called two days later to see how she was doing. What a wonderful practice! I am a client for life!

I’ve had to make a last-minute (day of) appointment for my dog twice now and I am never charged extra or treated like an inconvenience. RRAC is a great animal clinic. It is comforting to know that I can easily make an appointment in case of an urgent problem. Also, all of the Vets are so caring, friendly and knowledgeable! Normally our pets see Dr. Munro...but if he is off or on vacation, it's no problem to see Dr. Jolee or Dr. Heidi. Also, the Front Office staff and Technicians are extremely helpful, considerate and experienced. Sometimes talking on the phone with one of the staff is all that's needed! Absolutely fantastic first visit. All the staff was super friendly and loving towards our dog. Dr. Wennersten was great with a wonder disposition to our dog. Our dog has in the past been super afraid of any vet prior and this visit however on this (first) visit our dog was comfortable and didn't seem bothered at all. Tail wagged the entire time, even after a shot. Love and highly recommend this vet to anyone.

Robbins Road Animal Clinic is the place to go if you want caring, compassionate care for your pets. I should know since I've been taking my pets there over 40 years. I know that when I go there my pet's records will be checked and any treatment they need will be given to them. When I bring my pets In (I have a dog and a cat) there is no fear in them. The dog walks right in and makes himself at home. All three vets have treated my pets at one time or another. Each one is very competent and caring. If you are looking for a clinic which puts the care and comfort of your pet first, take them to Robbins Road Animal Clinic.

Great with my dogs, which one is a pit mix so most people do not have the best relationship with her because of that one factor. Great staff, great level of care. Our beloved lab mix, Sophie, has had medical issues throughout her life, from worms and torn ACLs as a puppy, to severe arthritis and various "old lady dog" issues in her dotage. She has been wonderfully cared for through all of it. And the cat, who hates vets (and everyone else besides her family, and even we leave room for improvement) has been treated gently, with dignity and respect, and that helps ease her through the process.

Mia had another great visit with Dr Chad. She is 10 now and was not having any urinary issues and her exam was fine. But, it was suggested to consider a cath specimen to further assess her urinary/renal health. But, she also had labs done that confirmed renal, hepatic, etc were fine. I guess I would expected a cath specimen to be suggested if labs had been abnormal or we had expressed concern reference urination, etc and not as a "preventive" approach. I do realize she could have casts, etc in her urine despite normal labs that would be concerning. If that is why it was recommended then I would recommend that be explained. (My spouse took Mia to the appointment). Thank you, we really love Dr Chad, takes his time.

Depends what vet you get...I took my cat in on a Friday evening after he started walking funny and just overall more lethargic. Thought maybe he had some arthritis in his back legs. Tom gave me reassurance that my cat would be ok, and that yes, it probably was just arthritis and he gave my cat a shot of depo for "pain". Said if my cat improved, he was probably in pain, if not, he's just old, but his heart and eyes and everything checked to be normal. Re-read that, EVERYTHING ABOUT MY CAT WAS COMPLETELY NORMAL AND HE WAS FINE. Didn't take my cat's temperature, do any sort of blood work, and didn't listen well to what I was noticing was different about my cat (who knows an animal more than the caregiver?). Over the weekend, my cat progressively got worse, not eating, more lethargic, not improving, etc.. Wednesday morning rolled around and my cat had peed in our bed and it didn't smell like urine (he has NEVER gone outside his box, EVER, even after moving 6 times with us). I brought him to the bathroom which was the place he seemed most comfortable in, and he pooped. He could not walk and didn't care if I bothered him, he just did not care about life AT ALL. I called the vet and made an appointment to come in that same day. This time I got Heidi, and she was the sweetest. She checked his temp, and listened to his heart and came to the conclusion my cat was experiencing some type of organ failure. She was very nice to us and completely understanding and just calming about the entire experience of euthenizing my beloved cat. I will never bring another pet to see the male vet, I will from now on request Heidi.

They are always friendly and willing work with our schedule. The reason for only 3 of 5 stars is lack of emergency care. Recently our boxer tangled with a muskrat on a Friday evening. The muskrat bit our boxer a couple of times during the encounter. The dog was bleeding very hard, not gushing but almost. We called every vet in Grand Haven and Holland, they all directed us to the emergency clinic in Grand Rapids. We were able to clean the wounds and stop the bleeding ourselves.Had it been more serious driving nearly an hour to GR would not have been an option. There should be an on call vet in the area.

When my Mocha got sick at only 15 months of age, I thought I was going to have to put her down. I even made the Appointment to have her euthanized. She couldn't walk, her eyes were drooping, couldn't eat...I was devistated. After bringing her in, Dr. Heidi determined that she had bacteria that attacted her brain stem. She prescribed Mocha antibiotics and steroids and asked me to try that for a couple of weeks. It was a long couple of weeks, but she started getting better. And now almost 5 months later she is back to normal. These Drs truly care about your animals! Will never take my dog anywhere else!

The doctors and staff are the best. They have taken care of our animals for over thirty years. After we lost our Bassett hound, Priscilla, we vowed no more, but broke down and adopted two basset hound puppies, Tillie and Charlie. We we excited to bring them in for their first vet visit at eight weeks with Dr. Jolene and for the next three years have either seen Dr. Jolene or Dr. Heidi. Recently our three year old Bassett hound, Tillie, had gotten sick with what we all thought was an infection in her glands. She was running a fever and her throat was red. She was put on meds but not getting better. A long story short we found she had Lymphoma cancer. Drs. Jolene, Heidi and Tom were great with her. They cried with us when we got the diagnosis about her cancer and Dr. Jolene was very honest with us and what she would do. It came down to what was best for Tillie and us. She could have suggested chemo and it would have been money it their pockets, but it wouldn't have been the right thing to do for Tillie or would it cure her since this type of cancer is incurable. It would just by her a few months and the chemo would be terrible on her. Through the meds they gave her, we had three more weeks with her. We called and talked about what to do as she was getting closer a d closer to the end. They knew how much we were hurting and guided us through whatever we wanted to do. Dr. Tom was there when she passed. I can't say enough about the staff and doctors at Robbins Road Animal Clinic. They truly care about your pets, your furry babies, and also care about the families when their pet passes. My heart is still hurting greatly with the loss of Tillie, but I know Charlie will always be in good hands with Dr. Jolene, Dr. Heidi and Dr. Tom and their staff.
