We love CHFA! The veterinary industry has been hurting and short-staffed, and over the past four years that I've been coming here, I have seen consistency in compassion, care, and expertise despite these hardships. Costs are fair for the industry and the quality of care is outstanding. My dog has pretty bad anxiety and gets quite nervous when we have to get pokes. I brought her in for her most recent visit in a basket muzzle and let the client care associate know she was nervous, and they immediately placed us into a private exam room - without making us feel bad about her muzzle. The staff was quick and efficient, and they even made a little note in her discharges to let me know how 'brave' she was. Thank you for this; it means a lot when dealing with such a nervous dog!

Knowledgeable staff, vet techs and doctors are just a phone call away. Multiple separate rooms at the center for cats and dogs. Surgical suites, prescription food supply, leashes, treats and more are available in the store section. They have separate entrances for cats and dogs to keep the peace. Ample parking and a dedicated rewards program. What more could you ask for.

We've been going to Cascade for a little over a year and had several vets that were passable but we were looking for another clinic as the experiences weren't what we wanted for our two dogs. We decided we would finish up the last round of our new puppy's shots and randomly got Dr. Nicholas Vito as our vet. He TOTALLY changed our minds and exceeded our expectations. He was personable, friendly, good with both dogs, and respected our decisions regarding our dogs health. Not sure about all the other vets, but if you are planning to go to Cascade or have been going and are not that happy, try requesting Dr. Vito and you won't regret it.

We recently brought our rescue dog, Auri, in to the Breton Village Animal Clinic for her first visit. We were blown away by the care she received from Dr. Vito and the staff at this location! The entire staff made sure Auri was at ease through the appointment, and strived to make her first visit a positive experience for her. They were very knowledgeable and made us feel so welcome. We are so happy we chose to bring our dog to this office!

Their entire team is fantastic, the hours of operation, emergency services to routine care and everything else they offer has been the best I have found in town. They have always been good with our dog. Reasonable prices and fast service. I expected to be charged for the follow up exam for our dog and she said no charge. I was not expecting that nowadays and appreciated it. Thanks Cascade. Last review was a year ago, still happy with them in 2022. They have been more then accommodating for us. My husband and I recently had to have our companion of 15 years PTS due to old age and cancer. Kane was his name. Dr Able, was the kindest, most compassionate veterinarian, as well as caring friend, during this truly hard time for us. I am a big fan of Cascade. My dog and I have had the BEST experience at CHFA. This is not our home base vet as it's a bit further away from our house, but my dog needed to have entropion surgery and I was quoted and extremely high amount somewhere else. When we came here everyone was very welcoming and very kind. They were very honest with the risks of the surgery that needed to be done, they felt confident. Dr Clayton did a wonderful job on my dog Mack's eye surgery. I am so grateful for the work he has done, and just the quality of life Mack is now able to have from this surgery. Also very affordable! I have used this vet practice for years but had not had a pet for several years. I adopted a shelter pet and he unfortunately has some serious medical issues that needed a good vet clinic that is absolutely tops in diagnosing pet medical issues. Cascade took the time to listen to what i said about my observations about what was going on with my cat and cared enough to do the testing required to obtain several diagnoses for him. I trusted these vets with my other prior pets and absolutely trust them with treatment of my new pet. I consider Cascade Hospital for Animals to be the best in the Grand Rapids area and highly recommend them. They are compassionate and caring vets who go the extra mile to diagnose your pet's medical issues and they treat you and your pet with respect. Wonderful vet clinic!

Every time I go in I see a different doctor and assistant. I'll ask what happened and they'll say they are no longer with them. Dr.Vito was a great help and then I come back and he's gone. Seems like cascade has an issue with turnover and I like consistency with my pets primary doctor, technician and staff in general. It's less stressful for them this way. Unfortunately this is the only clinic I've had this issue with and seems i might need to move on.

We have two wonderful cats (Link and Tabby) who have unfortunately had some times where they needed some emergency care. We absolutely love this animal hospital! After taking Link here the first time, we instantly wanted to keep them as a regular vet for our animals(family). We just recently had to take our Tabby in for surgery today. We were quite worried about her and her overall health. The staff there were beyond amazing. They took wonderful care of her and made us feel at ease. We even received a discount on costs because they knew we were on a certain budget. They communicated with us through the entire process of her surgery. Best veterinary experience. We switched over to this practice a little over a year ago and we’ve never regretted it. The service is prompt- you are not stuck on hold forever when you call, the people on the phone are very professional, friendly & extremely helpful. We've been going to the Breton location for years and love it! We've also had great experiences at the Cascade location for surgeries. We really appreciate the compassionate care our pets receive. On our last visit, Dr. Rasche called us after hours to let us know Buster's test results to save us from worrying until the next day. All of the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. We also appreciated the creativity and careful planning that went into their COVID precautions, and feel we've been able to maintain our pets' health without risking our own throughout the pandemic. We have been taking our pets to Cascade and Breton Village animal hospitals for about 15 years. The staff is excellent. Leia, our German Shepard is very high anxiety, the care they give her and the compassion they show for her gives me complete piece of mind. The Doctors are thorough and take the time to answer all my questions. They do follow up calls to confirm whatever brought her in is healing up. I will never take my furry friends anywhere else!

This is by far the best Vet in West Michigan most likely, the world! i have lived in Manhattan, San Francisco, LA and Chicago and this group of Vets are dependable, progressive, tactful and comprehensive in their care. My pets are very important and I do not take this issue lightly. They have saved and helped the longevity of my West Michigan pets. They work with you not on you if you get my drift. After just one visit to the Cascade hospital for animals I am already impressed with the service I've received! My husband and I lost our boy dog a couple of months ago and were looking for a new vet for our girl dog (his sister). Dr. Rasche and the vet tech that checked us in were SO friendly and explained every single procedure they were going to do in detail for us, giving us such a peace of mind. They have been prompt in answering any questions we have, and have emailed us a crazy-detailed analysis of every test they ran and the results. I truly feel like my girl is in amazing hands here!!

Vet was thorough and appreciated her follow-up on the phone for our socially distanced visit. Grooming is well done. A bit pricey compared to others. But, good work. We did have a miscommunication regarding services that resulted in an over charge. I would have expected them to waive the charge. We may look for more affordable options for grooming. But, we shall see if we can find a place closer to home that we are satisfied with.

I was having a difficult time getting an appointment for a new patient due to the covid-19. When I contacted them, they got me in the next day. The doctor gave my cat a complete exam and determined she had allergies. She gave her the appropriate meds and we were on our way. To my surprise, the bill was way lower than expected. They take very good care of your pets and have the most reasonable pricing. Win Win

I had to take my bearded dragon for his first appointment, I pulled to the curb at Breton Animal Clinic and was promptly greeted and brought appropriate paperwork, they took my dragon and the tech called me very quickly to get a history. The vet then called and informed me my lizard was a female and she went over many things we could do better and things we have done well. I felt informed and comfortable taking her there and can't wait to actually have a in person visit instead of curbside.

My cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes. I live in Ohio but needed immediate care in Michigan. Cascade Hospital accepted the paperwork from my Ohio vet and knew exactly how to help. We initially switched to Cascade Hospital for Animals because our former vet refused to see our dog for a same day emergency appointment even though we were long time clients and it was early morning and referred us to one of the local animal emergency centers. Switching to Cascade has been nothing short of wonderful. They are open until 7 four days a week. They also have weekend appointments which is wonderful and has helped prevent the need to go to an animal emergency veterinarian. We've always been able to schedule a same day appointment if there is an urgent matter. We get yearly dentals for our dogs and find the price to be reasonable. They don't push treatment or things if we don't feel comfortable. They treat our animals with the best care. We really like all of the veterinarians we've seen. They are so kind and caring. They are all our favorites, it is too hard to decide on just one (Dr. Abel, Dr. Denison, Dr. Malik and Dr. Fuller). The rest of the staff is also just as wonderful. We live in Rockford but it is worth the drive to take our dogs to get such wonderful attention and care.

Our pups were in recently for routine dental cleanings and at ages 11 1/2 and 12 years, they need some extra special care when having their annual dental cleanings. Dr. Abel and Debbie W. did their usual fantastic job of cleaning their teeth. It was very much appreciated. They also did a great job explaining and assisting with the after care instructions and visits. BUT, I will take the time to say that going to Cascade Vet in my busy schedule was well worth it. Not only did they answer right away, as soon as I got to the location, they greeted me inside, called me right away asking about my pet and called me again while I was waiting in my car to go over what my pet needed. I have been taking my now almost two year old dog here since she was eight weeks old. From the beginning, they have gone above and beyond with her care. I have never been dissatisfied with anyone here, from the client care associates to the doctors themselves. Many of them remember my dog by name, despite not seeing her for months at a time, which really shows how much they care. The facility itself is very clean and well kept, and their extended hours make it easy for me to schedule appointments around my inflexible schedule. It really speaks volumes when say that my dog gets excited to go to the veterinarian.

We were new to the area and looking for a vet for our two dachshunds. Many responses to my Facebook inquiry suggested Cascade so I gave them a shot. I now know why they got so many recommendations! What a great practice; nice, courteous and caring. I brought my dog in because he had a reverse sneeze that concerned me. As it turned out, it seemed to have just been a change in the environment and my boy would get over it in just a few days. The doctor was the one to call me and give me a full report which I appreciated. I think a lot of vets would take the opportunity to convince me that allergy tests were needed but instead they checked out my pet, didn’t find any issues and sent me on my way all the while assuring me that I could bring him back with any further concerns. These people are just the best! Took my cat, Boots, there after she dislocated her hip. From the initial appointment to the surgery to fix, they have been beyond helpful, extremely open to questions, and very friendly. They do their best with COVID being a thing. I've been taking my Maltese mix there for 8 years. Lucy just turned 15! She has been well taken care of by all staff members of Cascade Animal Hospital. She is a little difficult when it comes to grooming, they suggested a calming medication for her that works well! Brittany does an excellent job with her grooming needs. Definitely recommend.

what a great place,it started years ago with one of our labs having spinal neurapathy and emily just welcomed him with open arms. We came from another vet who recommended Cascade Hospital and we stayed. it probably has been about 8 years. Then the superb service on our other lab who felt he needed to eat everything in sight, the emergency service in helping him recover and the care they provided to him. The doctors now have the responsibility of our Aussie girl who can be sweet but contengious if her paws are touched. The Vets have been very caring during the euthanasia process and very cariing at all times. thanks for your service to our family

Our almost 10 year old boxer comes here for physical therapy due to DM. Emily, his therapist is absolutely amazing. She is very communicative, friendly, educated, and helpful. She has been a great support for both myself and my dog through this terrible disease. Emily is an asset to this office and we continue to bring our dog here because of her level of care. Your furry family member will receive nothing but the best care for rehab here, I couldn't recommend them enough.

Brought our pup here for an emergency visit. Was able to coordinate an appointment via email from work as his symptoms developed through the day and the vet was fabulous. It was pricey but honestly completely worth it. We also do puppy training through here and Nikki is a fantastic trainer, really great with the pups and gives owners the tools to keep their pups happy and well behaved.

We love this place. However, I am disappointed that when you have to euthanize your pet without an appointment that you are charged an emergency fee. Isn't the euthanasia enough trauma without getting hammered for a fee?

I was there last week with my dog. Excellent care, and a very nice staff. I made the mistake of taking him twice to a different vet, and it just wasn’t the same. We go to the Breton Village location because it’s super close, and convenient for us. If you’re looking for a great vet, then I wouldn’t hesitate to bring your animals there. We’ve seen at least three of the vets there, and they were all thorough, and very caring.

This was my first time at this location, I normally take my dog and cat to the Breton Village office. This office is clean and well stocked with food, medicine and other items. The staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful. They quickly put me and my dog at ease. The vet communicated with me quickly and gave me updates throughout my dog’s surgery. I cannot rate this practice highly enough. I have taken my cats there for many years now and have never had anything less than professional, capable and kind service. You can tell that the team here really cares about you and your pets. As they've guided me and my pets through various treatments, I've never feel pressed to do anything I don't want to do and I've always felt like I am in control of the situation, both health-wise and financially-speaking. To a stressed-out parent, having your provider on your side in that way is unspeakably comforting. This is a veterinary practice that is worth every penny and then some.

I've been going to Cascade Hospital for Animals for years now. They've done an incredible amount for us. From boarding my dog (including needing to extend the stay, and they were incredibly accommodating), to helping care for rats, and my cats (i have a lot of pets, clearly). Even during the worst moments (including losing a cat less than a week ago from the time I'm writing this), they are the most caring, helpful, and understanding group I've ever met. Even during almost 2 years living in a different state, I talked about Cascade constantly. They are the absolute standard I use for a vet now. I live about 45 minutes away now, and I refuse to go anywhere else. It's unbelievably difficult to find a good vet, especially when you have a variety of animals. Finding one that can care for any type of animal is near impossible. I've never hesitated recommending them, and I don't plan to stop singing their praises anytime soon.

We had a very good experience with Breton Village Animal Clinic and have recommended it to our friends. We requested a face to face with Dr. K. Fuller as we were new to the practice and she made the effort to come come out and meet us before taking, Ember, in for her exam and vaccinations. Dr. Fuller then called and gave us a report post exam and explained any concerns. We also had to switch over Ember's medications from the former vet, and Amy pursued finding a source for her DES at a reasonable price. In every case they have gone above and beyond our expectations.

I was very happy with the service my cat Blinky received. This was my first visit as I had moved and wanted a closer vet. I'm happy I choose this Vet. Cascade animal hospital truly is the best vet I’ve been too. They have such a caring staff and people who actually care about your experience there. I brought Rico in for a nail trim and Lia from the reception desk remembered that I had left my free dog treats and receipt from my last visit and was so kind to set them aside safely for me until I came in again. The fact that she remembered meant a lot. I definitely recommend bringing your babies here.

I had an emergency with my Corn-snake, and the ladies at the clinic were so warm, welcoming and helpful! They truly care about your animals and treat them as one of their own. Even though I came from an hour and a half away and wasn't a client of theirs prior to, they got me in within hours that same day, and had a vet who completely specialized in exotics help me out. They gave my snake the utmost care and attention. Not to mention, the facilities were quite impressive, clean and quiet (for a clinic). The prices are very reasonable too. They won me over!

Great, friendly staff! They got us in very quickly to have ACL repair on our dog. Because we were able to get him in so fast and they did such a great job, he doesn't even need physical therapy!!! Not only did this save us time and money, but the surgery itself was about half the price of the first surgery that he had on his other leg on the other side of the state! We will be back!!!

Excellent service and care for our fur babies! We just moved to Michigan at the end of March and originally went to a different vet. After taking our dog in for his teeth to be cleaned the original place gave us the run around about his teeth so we wanted a second opinion. Dr. Malik saw our dog and said that a few of his teeth were saveable amd one of the ones that the other place missed needed to be removed. She gave us an estimate that day and when all was said and done they came in below the estimate! We are so grateful for all their work! They even saw our rats and were great with them too. I absolutely recommend this place for your pet needs. This is the place your pet deserves!

They took such good care of my baby. He went in for a teeth cleaning and surgery. The staff is extremely kind and they were so loving to my doggie. They cuddled with him after he woke up instead of just leaving him. He us a small dog that gets scared easily. The staff was extremely kind to me and answered any question that I had. I cannot thank them enough for how well they trrated me and my baby! We went back for another surgery to remove a lump on my baby's shoulder. Once again Dr. Venenman and staff took excellent care of him. The staff love on him and say how cute he is. I was worried about him on Saturday and called up there for some advice and the nurse consulted a group of doctors for their opinion. I received a follow up today (Monday) to see how he was doing and if I had any concerns. I really appreciate how they treat my sweet puppy and myself. I recommend them to everyone. Thank you so much for how well you care for my baby when he is there! Went back again, once in May for his heartworm test and to have a couple more lumps checked out. He had a different doctor this time. His usual doctor was out. He was treated very well again. Just went to have my baby checked out this month. He ate some food that he shouldn't have. I had called for advice on how to get him to eat and drink, because he wasn't. They offered some advice and suggested he get a check up. I ended up going to their triage. I am very glad that I had. Once again the staff was very kind and caring. They love on my puppy and treat him very well. I am so grateful to all the staff. I can't imagine anyone taking better care than they do.

20 years of outstanding service and this is my first review! CHA has taken care of all our family pets over the years. While I started with Dr Siegel, every doctor has been great. They were there with our excitement with a new kitten or puppy, and there at the end of life to help. When my golden was too arthritic to be taken via car, they came to my home. My very emotional son was there and they were so patient and gave us all the time in the world to get through this. When it was time this year to put my cat Moose down, I brought him in. They had a beautiful wicker basket for him to lay in, with a blanket. The candle was lit by the front desk so people knew a family was having a hard time. They performed dental surgery, castrations, emergency treatment for Kitty and Remie when they each decided to eat things that were poisonous. They took good care of my pets when it was boarding time, or time for a bath and groom. They introduced me to Lean Treats, which have become my pet's favorite, and I feel better knowing they are healthy for them. They had every prescription dog food I've needed over the years, every durable toy, calming sprays and anything you could possibly want. All this though, never got me to write a review. Shame on me. What made me realize how incredible they were, was what they did for two of my children, who are adults now, live in other cities, and have never taken their pets to them. My son has a golden retriever who was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia. I called and spoke to one of the doctors who spent over 10 minutes answering questions, providing suggestions and more. When I offered to pay for the consultation, I was told that's just part of our service. My daughter called them herself, when their mini Australian Shepard puppy broke its leg in 2 places. Her Vet was short with her and provided no options other than a $4800 surgery. Another Vet she called, offered nothing. Out of desperation she called Cascade Animal Hospital. She explained who she was and that her Mom went there. She told them she didn't really expect that they would talk to her, but she had to try. They calmly explained various options, where she could take the dog for surgery, provided assistance with financial plans if required and more. CHA did so much more for her, than the other 2 Vets combined. That's when the light really clicked that we were all so blessed to have this group of doctors here for us. If you are considering bringing your pet here, you are making a great choice! They are warm. compassionate, well trained, knowledgeable, and have multiple options available for treatment. Although we moved to Lowell now, I would NEVER take my furry family anywhere else.

Love this vet. We just got our first dog and as first time dog owners, they are helpful whenever we call about little things that aren't a big deal, but we worry anyways. They take extremely good care of our Great Dane and the people at the front desk always remember our dog and are always excited to see her. Being open on the weekend and having hours later in the evening is very helpful for our schedules and allowing us to get our dog in when needed.

CHFA is incredible. I recently had to put one of my babies to sleep and Dr. Denison wasn't taking appointments that day, but because she had worked with him in the past she wanted to make both me and my little man comfortable and fit us in that day. Also, one day I was 15 minutes late due to being lost on my way there and Jill, one of the techs, still made room for us for a dental estimate. I also saw Dr. P one day through ER with a dog I rescued from CL and CHFA was able to squeeze me in last minute, with no extra charge. The day I brought the rescue dog in Dr. P and his technician Savannah were great, and Ashley at checkin was also very helpful in getting this nervous great dane weighed. They were both very friendly and very thorough. I am so very thankful for CHFA!

Absolutely the most knowledgeable and compassionate veterinary practice in SW Michigan. They have complete updated facilities to perform any procedure necessary in my experience. No sending you somewhere else for services. I have taken all my rescued animals to Cascade Hospital for Animals for 15 years and will continue to do so. They can be trusted completely. They also ask permission before providing services, so we know where we stand. I appreciate that they have wonderful hours so I don't end up going to an emergency vet. I can always get an appt. and that means the world to me and my animals. They treat a wide variety such as exotics also and are very experienced in all kinds of pets. I would go nowhere else. I drive 50 miles to Cascade and it's worth every minute of the drive!!!

Another awesome experience at Breton Village Animal Clinic's curb side service. I'm so impressed with the staff coming to my car, wearing a mask and keeping a safe distance. As I am parked, Natalie, the sweetest technician, calls me and we discuss what the needs of my precious ferrets are. I know my pets are getting the same great care as they did when i could enter the building. Dr Ritzman then calls me with the results of her examination. She is so thorough and informative, we develop a plan together so I always am giving informed consent. I am an ICU nurse that works on the unit caring for Covid patients. I need to be protected and this system keeps me safe, and I can get quality care for my ferrets. I'm such a fan of the wonderful, compassionate staff and their concern for the safety of clients.

I am feeling very frustrated with the organization of this establishment. First issue: I called and asked when my next appointment was, I forgot to write it in my planner and I knew it was coming up. So I figured hey let me just call real quick and find out. They tried to tell me the appointment didn’t exist and I had to reschedule another and pay for ANOTHER fee when I already paid for the initial fee. My bird is disabled and unwell and I already had to wait a month for this appointment. I had an actual panic attack. I was shaking and sobbing bc my bird needs help and I am not at a place where I can just waste money like that. If I’ve already paid for something, I can’t pay for it again. They said there was nothing they could do, so I said no there is, transfer me, and they did and they traced my appointment through my card. Second issue: I received an email that my appointment was at 9:40 this morning. I panicked OF COURSE and called and was like hey if you could please figure that out so it doesn’t happen again bc it gives me anxiety, that would be appreciated. And the lady was extremely rude and didn’t even say that they were sorry. If there was a better option for care for my bird, I would go somewhere else. But this avian specialist is the best in the area and the closest so I have to. I didn’t have issues like this before the location moved. I’ve never had issues like this prior with anywhere or anyone. For example, I am not the type of person to yell at someone when they get my food wrong, I usually don’t even tell them and I just eat the food I don’t like. I’m not a mean aggressive person. But when it comes to my bird, who has been in severe pain for the last year since she has become disabled, I am very serious about it. Please do better with your organization and we will not have an issue. I am very upset rn about this. I know this is a harsh review and I am sorry but it is the truth. I shouldn’t have to experience this kind of stress and anxiety over simple things. Especially when I’m paying THIS MUCH MONEY. I don’t make 100k a year and this is a huge financial strain on me. also pls don’t ban me bc like I said, I don’t have anywhere else to go with adequate care. No offense, you deserved this review. I’m over it. Do your job and stop causing me anxiety. It’s not hard to send me the right confirmation emails for the right time of my appointment and to not tell me that my appointment doesn’t exist when I’ve already waited a month and paid an initial fee. Do better. I read so many great reviews about you guys and it really hurts that I’m not receiving the same care as the rest of your customers when I pay the same price. My bird deserves better. I deserve better. Premium price = premium service. Do your part please. I don’t want to have anxiety every time she has an appointment now bc things keep going wrong. Edit: I later talked to someone who was very nice. It’s not their fault that the avian specialist has things that keep coming up. I’m still upset about this bc it caused me a great amount of anxiety and stress, bc it’s life or death for my bird but I understand. I edited my stars, instead of 1, 3.

I highly reccommend this place! My dog is like family and when he developed a limp in his hind leg I noticed immediately. I waited two weeks and tried medication at the advice of my local vet to no benefit. I was concerned about possible surgery, associated risks, and the possibility he may never walk on all four legs normally again. After meeting with the doctor I was very impressed. They made sure I was fully aware of what the procedure entailed and associated costs (which were much less than I found in my research of this procedure) and it seems they made every effort to keep him as comfortable as possible during the procedure.

We live in Battle Creek and had searched in a two-hour radius of all of the clinics that offered rhinoscopy, a procedure my vet recommended to diagnosis my dog's sinus problems. I chose CHFA not only for their price (about 1/3 of what MSU cost), but also their proximity. I am so glad I did! The staff was exceptionally friendly, kind to my dog (who is terrified of new places, but they all loved her!), and Dr. Steven McBride was wonderful. He listened carefully, explained well, and treated both my dog and me with respect. If we lived closer to the area, CHFA would be our regular vet clinic.

In the last year and a half we have taken one of our cats here for LASER therapy and our dog for CCL surgery and all of our pre-meetings, procedures, and follow-up were GREAT! Cascade Hospital for Animals has cared for my 12 year old Golden Retriever Therapy Dog and my 20 mo old Golden Retriever in Therapy Dog Training for the life times of both dogs. Keeping them healthy and up to standard in terms the requirements of Vaccination regimens etc. and treating them for the issues that dogs face as they age has been skillfully handled by CHFA stand and a god--send. The vets and techs can handle any and all of the needs of keeping the dogs healthy. They are wonderful people with caring hearts available 24/7 that bend over backward to care for the our animals and their owners.

We had a unique situation where our cat, Alice, ingested some brush water diluted with exterior paint & primer. After a rough morning of monitoring her and cleaning up plenty of vomit, I called Cascade Hospital at exactly 7:30AM (opening time) and was immediately put through to someone. We explained the situation and even though they had a full morning, they told us the vet would make time to see her ASAP. Staff was on top of it, comforting and helping us through calling ASPCA poison control. They gave her fluids, some medicine for nausea and told us the next steps in her care. We were told there would be a fee for squeezing her in and when all was said and done (and crisis averted), we were a bit worried about the cost. Luckily, there was no price gouging for our urgent situation and we are feeling very fortunate and grateful for the quick care we received for little more than $150. Can’t recommend enough. Thanks for taking care of our dogs, cats and bearded dragon over the years, guys!

Dr. Anderson and Dr. Sullivan are wonderful! I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of the high employee turn over at the hospital, especially at the front desk. It was always nice to see a familiar smiling face when I walked in. Over time I noticed some were less likely to engage because they were working under a considerable amount of stress and were very unhappy! When I asked one of the employees where some of my favorite front desk staff had gone she replied: Management does not treat their employees very well. Even if they have been there for many years. She stated it’s a “Shame” because they have lost a lot of great employees over the years due to the leadership of the hospital Administrator. Even the hospital manager has left. I was saddened to hear that! As a consumer it’s important to me to frequent a business knowing the employees are valued and treated well. If their happy in the work place that will filter down to the care my pet will receive especially when I’m not there. Clearly...it starts at the top and the owner should do some house cleaning!

We are in mourning with the passing of our dear Vizsla, Sadie. Without the kind, caring and compassionate treatment during her age related demise, we wouldn't have enjoyed the final 7 months with her. Dr. Siegle has been our superstar veterinarian for the past 30+ years. Each of our dogs have benefited from his special care. His personal touch is legendary. Most recently Sadie, age 12, became burdened with tumors, her back end became plagued with arthritis and she gradually lost her zest for life. We were able to say goodbye during the Christmas holidays and the staff made her final day very gentle and sensitive. She passed and is now pain free. We've lived in many different places but have never experienced the professional, personal and caring nature of the Cascade Hospital for Animals staff. I used to be scared to bring my dog to the vet because no matter what miniscule thing she found on him she would tell me that he needs surgery - do you know how much anxiety that gives a person to hear their dog will need surgery literally every time he is taken to the vet? I do not have to worry about that at Cascade Hospital for Animals, these vets know what they are looking at and what they are talking about. Our second and newest puppy Macks had mange, something that our previous vet South Crossings didn't detect until weeks later when he was completely bald, and very sick. When they finally caught it (after us specifically asking for him to get a skin scraping to be sure since they insisted it was Allergies) they wanted to put him on various pills for 3 months. We immediately switched both our dogs to Cascade. One pill for the mange a month later Macks was as good as new, in fact they even caught that he had puppy strangles and he has been happy and healthy since. Love the people here, they know what they're doing and they treat your pet as if it was their own. Highly recommend.

CHA came to my attention because of a terrifying experience with my kitty getting her foot stuck in the bath drain during a flea check. When she got stuck, she immediately started panicking and trying to jump out, which led to her toes swelling and caused her to get stuck even worse. I called well over a dozen places looking for help (animal rescues, fire department, 911, plumbers, other veterinarians/animal hospitals) and no one could offer any help or suggestions to help my terrified and distressed cat. By the time I called CHA I was hysterical from worry that my cat would be stuck in the drain for days before I could get her some help. When I got in touch with CHA, the woman on the phone (I apologize I do not remember her name) was so empathetic and dedicated to doing whatever she could to help. She immediately consulted her team and started calling animal rescues and other places to try to find some help, but had no luck. When they couldn’t find help elsewhere, CHA went above and beyond what could ever be expected of them given this crazy situation. The owner of CHA, Dr. Siegle, (along with an amazing veterinary technician, who unfortunately I can’t remember her name at the moment) came to our home in the middle of a pandemic to free my cat. Dr. Siegle and the veterinary technician worked so calmly and compassionately to help my cat and I felt the entire time that she was in good hands. Eventually, a second veterinarian came to our home to provide assistance (unfortunately I didn’t learn their name because I was coming back from the store just as the team was finishing up). The CHA team was able to free my kitty’s toes and are currently taking care of her to make sure that she’s okay and doesn’t have any broken toes. I cannot begin to describe how grateful I am for everyone at CHA who helped save my cat. I also want to mention that Dr. Siegle was off from work today and he came in solely to help my cat. He expressed that he was simply happy to help. I do not know what I would’ve done or what could’ve happened to my poor cat if I didn’t cross paths with CHA. I want to say thank you so much to CHA for everything you did and I would HIGHLY recommend this hospital for anyone who wants to ensure that their precious fur babies are well taken care of.

I recently took my birds to Cascade Animal Hospital for check-ups. It's quite a long drive, but I won't take my birds anywhere else as long as Dr. Ritzman is still there. She is so knowledgeable and experienced, and I trust her opinions and advice. I always leave having learned something new and feeling confident that my birds are healthy. The calm, confident way Dr. Ritzman and her staff handle my birds really helps them cooperate and not leave traumatized (normally my GCC is very aggressive and my cockatiel can get panicky around strangers). We have had a wonderful experience with Dr Siegel. We transferred our dog to CHA after a recommendation from a friend. Our dog had a terrible skin condition that had been misdiagnosed at another vet - she received a lot of unnecessary invasive treatment & medication. We are blown away not once but twice by Cascade Hospital for Animals. When we had an emergency with our chicken, Lucy, we had to drive from Holland in order to find a clinic that would take chickens- Dr. Tracey Ritzman saw her immediately. Not only did Dr. Ritzman save Lucy's life, she called us and checked on her to make sure things were going ok. Cascade was upfront with the costs and nothing came at a surprise. A few weeks later our cat, Stuart, was having some medical issues. We saw our vet here in Holland but they couldn't do the surgery that he required. I was relieved to find out Cascade did the required surgery, and for 1/3 of what another office quoted us. We met with Dr. Steven McBride and his composed, calm, energy gave us peace knowing our cat was in good hands. Dr. McBride personally answered our phone calls, emails, and we was always willing to talk us through things and answer any of our questions. We couldn't recommend Cascade Hospital for Animals any more highly based on our two experiences. The doctors are intentional, they communicate costs up front, and they are great at what they do!

Cascade Hospital for Animals heard my call for help after my cat named boots spent 7 days at Michigan State University and two other Specialty veterinarian clinics and hospitals. He had an urethral blockage and tear and was fading fast. Cascade got boots in for Same Day Surgery ( perineal urethrostomy ) and he was home the next day for half the price that anyone else would have charged for the same procedure.The clinic personnel were professional and very informative. I like Cascade animal hospital, they are one of the more experienced practices in the area with exotic species. However, they have a hard time admitting when things go wrong on their end. My chameleon was bleeding from the mouth after they used a tongue depresser on him, and they denied it could be from that or anything that happened during the appointment. (I wasn't mad, just really worried about a more serious cause) A consultation at a second office said the tongue depresser was the only likely source, leading me to believe they were too nervous/prideful to admit that mistakes happen. I would have been totally fine if they said "yeah I doubt it but he could've gotten a little cut in the tongue depresser" but left confused and concerned when I was told "we aren't sure what caused this, but I know it has nothing to do with his visit here"
