This hospital is truly incredible! I've gone there twice for emergency services and had nothing but positive interactions. The staff are so kind, caring and compassionate. They are truly angels that recognize how important your pet is, and treat them like your family. They are patient and communicate at every step so you know how your pet is doing, and even check up after they leave! I know they are likely very busy and stressed, but you could never tell. When my cat was dying, they took great care of her and gave me the resources for an at home hospice, which made a world of difference. When my dog got chocolate poisoning, they were very prompt and proactive with identifying how much he ate and telling me to bring him in immediately, and they took excellent care of him. The vet even called personally to give me an update with options based on her recommendations and costs associated with services. She even commented about how big of a personality my dog had and how pretty he was. She really made me feel at ease with her demeanor, and allowed me to see how much she cared for him and took time individually with him to see his uniqueness. There are closer hospitals, but I will only go to this one, because they are truly the best!

The Drs and staff were wonderful! They were prompt, professional and very compassionate. Their knowledge and quick action were so appreciated when we brought our puppy to them. The genuine care they show is touching and comforting. We felt very much at ease in leaving our pet with them overnight. We could text anytime for updates and they called to give us information in a timely manner. I would highly recommend this hospital to any animal family who needs help.

Duncan here punctured his shoulder on a metal plant protector cage Christmas Eve. It was a pretty large opening so we knew it absolutely needed to be seen to avoid serious infection. With it being Christmas Eve them being open easily could’ve saved his life. It would’ve been at least 2 days to get him in anywhere else. You can check in and share your info ahead of time and they even shared what to expect when we called to confirm we had done everything correctly. He stayed overnight for surgery and we got to pick him up Christmas morning. We dropped him off just before 11 pm and were told that when it came his turn in line we’d get a call to go over the estimated plan. We got our around 1 am and the text that he was ready and doing well by 3 am. I was super pleased with how efficient they were. The communication was excellent. You could tell through the call that the vet cares about each animal. Even in his notes we got sent home with it mentioned that he’s a sweet boy. They are appropriately priced esp considering how limited options are on Christmas Eve. He’s still resting and hopefully getting his stitches out in a couple days at our vet. So the book isn’t fully closed for us yet but they’ve been nothing but great. Even helping us through a follow up call with some concerns during his healing.

I had to Rush my Dog in late one night because had fallen very ill after eating. Turns out he was suffering from Bloat. Dr.Frances was there and got Jack back in surgery as soon as possible on a busy night! He was expected to stay about two days, but only had to stay for one because he did so well! He did have an issue getting appetite back, so they were even kind enough to let me come up and visit and try to feed him ourselves with his regular homemade food. Since he had bone cancer in his mandible before, he no longer has half of his bottom jaw so he can only really eat soft puréed food. They were so kind to let us come and feed him, he got his appetite back, and he looked super well! They all gave him the best care, and were never once rude when I called to ask about an update. Nothing but a great, compassionate kind experience when we went. Thank you to the staff for doing such an amazing job and saving my boy! We are a blessed family to still have him here thanks to you all acting in a timely manner.

We brought our sweet pup, Bentley in this Saturday due to an emergency. The staff was wonderful and took such great care of him. They requested he stay overnight to continue fluids and medication though an IV, and throughout the stay they made it so easy to text me with updates and pics of our sweet boy. The Drs answered all of our questions and stayed at the top of his care. He is home now recovering and I couldn’t be more thankful for the love and support they gave our little guy.

Our sweet old lab, Olive, had been declining for a while. We took her to the vet about six weeks ago and they said to watch her. She was still able to eat and having mostly good days. Then memorial day weekend hit and she started struggling, a lot. We took her to Animal Emergency Hospital after calling our after hours number for our local vet. They looked her over. They agreed with what our thoughts were, that we should help her to pass in peace. They were very nice and kind about it. Let us have all the time with her we needed. We were able to be there with our sweet Olive until her beautiful heart stopped beating. Everyone here was so kind and compassionate. They were reasonably priced. Super pleased y’all! We called ALL of our local “hospitals” to get our puppies foot looked at. (He had an abscess burst when one of our kids tripped over him). NOBODY was taking new patients… One even said “we’re only taking healthy pets”… like what?! Anyways! Last minute, late at night, and with better timing than a human ER! I will recommend all day! They saved my pupper’s foot so we didn’t have to worry about the infection going further, and possibly losing his leg altogether. I will say, he wasn’t a fan of the cone, today is the next day, and he went running through our door and the edge caught the wall and cracked the whole side of his cone open. So there’s that. Thank you all!

Loved the care we were given here! Did not know where to go when my dog was having a seizure super glad it was here the staff were so nice and reassuring and the Dr’s were amazing with working with you. They were super on top of things and good about giving me updates when he had to stay overnight. Do not plan on having to return but if needed I definitely know where to go. Beyond grateful.

Thank you all for helping ease the pain of having to put down our 15 year old golden retriever last week. Thank you to everyone at the Emergency Hospital in Grand Rapids. My dog had something going on with his stomach. In the middle of the night he was slobbering, pacing back and forth and trying to vomit. So I got online and filled out the necessary documents about him and his symptoms. It was very easy to do. It was only about 5 minutes and the hospital text me and said to bring him right in and a doctor was assigned to him. It took me 50 LONG minutes to get there but he was taken back to see the veterinarian as soon as I got there! Thank you! It did take quite sometime for them to let me know what was happening (4 hours) but I’m happy to report that he is doing much better now!!:) I definitely would recommend them. Thanks again!!

I brought in our 4 month old puppy who had gotten into something that made him not feel good. They treated him like he was their own and got him diagnosed and feeling better in no time. They were busy so it was a bit of a wait but I didn’t mind. Everyone was very nice and professional. Price wasn’t too bad either. Highly recommend.

After a very stressful holiday due to our dog eating 15 oatmeal raisin cookies, over 150 showed up after inducing vomiting under guidance of poison control. We attempted to see any emergency vet on Christmas Day that could help get him the proper blood work to ensure his kidneys weren’t shutting down. After being turned down at both the Saginaw and Michigan state emergency vets saying his case wasn’t as emergent and that they were too busy to help. We called to the greater Lansing veterinary center where they said we could come in. We drove an hour and a half with our dog there to be greeted with a very rude receptionist (I understand she was under a great deal of stress) and was told that our dog could not be seen. After 2 days of phone calls with vets and poison control with no help and the stress and anxiety destroying us over our possibly very ill dog. We contacted the Grand Rapids emergency vet via their online form, it was extremely easy and let us give a lot of detail about our situation, they got back to us within minutes saying he could be seen by a doctor. Thankful to get him a chance to be checked up, we drove another hour and a half to Grand rapids. Here we were greeted by an extremely kind vet tech, she helped explain everything to us and she was extremely kind to our dog. (I did not catch her name but she had braids with the ends dyed blue!) They said it wouldn’t take long for him to get his blood work done so we stayed in the car and waited. After about an hour we got a call saying the blood work was complete and it looked normal, the vet was extremely kind and caring and I’m sure she made our dog feel extremely comfortable while in a foreign place. She went above and beyond and ran a urine test as well to fully ensure that he was okay. After 2 hours he was all done and it only cost 300 for emergency pet testing on Christmas Day, and a very short wait in comparison to literally any other emergency vet in Michigan. If you are trying to decide where to take your dog to get swift care in an emergency. Take them here, they will treat you and your pet with kindness and give you the peace of mind that you need in emergencies :) Angelo hopes everyone there has a great New Year! His resolution is to lay off the cookies!

We recently had to take our dog in for emergency surgery to remove a tumor and part of his intestines. The staff was very kind and compassionate! They were calm and provided all of our options and expected outcomes from the start. They were prompt in answering our questions throughout the night and sent us pictures of our boy first thing in the morning. The staff and doctors made a terrible time go as smoothly as possible. We were able to visit and assist with feeding after surgery.

The vets and staff here are fantastic. I was really grateful for their knowledge, thoroughness and kind support when my dog Sachi got really sick over a busy July 4th weekend. They diagnosed the issue quickly and a course of action to get her feeling better and home. Their contact system is great for worried and stressed pet parents too, you text to see how the patient is doing and they get back to you within minutes with an update. Kept this fur mom sane. No one wants their pet to have an emergency, but if they do I’d highly recommend taking them here. Thank you everyone for taking such great care of my little girl!

The sign up process was easy online and I got a call as soon as they were ready for our cat, Meme. She had a laceration and needed antibiotics and a something to close up the wound. They touched base within the timeframe given (4 hrs) and reviewed the care and costs. Provided feedback based on how she was doing and what the next steps were to continue her recovery. They were thorough on discharge and asked if we had any questions. Cost was reasonable and worth it. Thank you.

My sweet boy swallowed a die and we didn’t know until one night Leo was very low energy and frothing at the mouth! The staff could tell I was very nervous- they did a great job calming my nerves. Our 1 y/o kitty started experiencing vomiting and lethargy after her annual vaccines. I called AEH with her symptoms and they informed me of the abnormality of vomiting after vaccination and need for immediate care, and I’m glad they did! We were able to wait at home for a little over an hour before dropping her off, she was treated and I was contacted within 4 hours (the suggested average wait time from the website). The cost was as expected for emergency veterinary care, and being a nurse myself they were just as thorough as necessary to rule out more severe diagnoses before treating her for a severe vaccine reaction. After reading some similar horror stories from pet owners with similar situations - I'm glad that they advised I bring her and very happy with the prompt and kind care she received! She’s back to normal at home bird watching and snuggling with her brother. :)

The doctors and staff at this facility are incredibly professional, soooo nice & very helpful! I will always trust bringing my pets into their office and know they will be in the best hands. I have had 2 wonderful experiences at this animal emergency hospital. My first visit was in 2020 when my 9 yr old cat, Cali, was going into kidney failure. They got her in right away (on a busy night), called me with the results within 3 hours of admitting her & were so kind over phone. Although they had to deliver me devastating news, the doctor I spoke with was so empathic & gentle with me as I processed the news. We were able to say our final goodbyes and we’re given as much time as we needed, alone with our angel girl. We were so thankful for all of the staffs kindness. My most recent visit was for my 7 month old kitty, Junie, who ingested some toxic lilys flowers. Again, they got her in right away & started treatment almost immediately after admitting her. The person i spoke to about payment information was extremely knowledgable & I appreciated them going over extra details with me. My kitty had to stay at the hospital for 48hrs & they updated me 2-3 times a day with pictures, bloodwork results and compliments about my kitty… it meant so much to me because I was worried sick. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING ❤️

Our two golden mixes experienced accidental ingestion of medication. I knew it could be potentially fatal and took them to AEH immediately. They triaged our dogs immediately, confirmed the important details and started treating them within moments. Every step was full of compassion. They checked in to confirm that I knew the expected cost and to explain the treatment. Then through the 48-72 hours hospitalization, the techs and vets kept in touch literally 24/7. They never acted bothered. They were kind. I could tell they cared. The medical care was excellent. We had a great, even miraculous, outcome but even if we hadn’t I would still recommend AEH over anywhere else due to the responsiveness, competent docs and attentive staff. Thank you AEH for saving our dogs’ lives and for the kindness along the way. I hope you each know that the work you do MATTERS!

Thank you to everyone at AEH, my dog Diamond was suffering from kidney failure that came on without notice, after not eating or drinking and becoming very dehydrated I brought her into AEH and they quickly got her started on IV fluids. She stayed for two days and I was very worried and nervous. I was able to visit her each day and the staff accommodated this each time very pleasantly. I was so glad to be able to visit her and let her know I did not leave her for good. If it weren’t for AEH being open 24 hours and being able to check my dog out during the middle of the night, I don’t think she would have made it much longer. Kidney failure is not curable, so the prognosis isn’t great, but she is alive and now pretty much back to normal — and I get to have her in my life longer than I would have without the help of everyone at AEH. Thank you for keeping my girl here and comfortable 💜

Animal Emergency Hospital got my kitty in right away when we showed up. She was having difficulty breathing, and they got her on oxygen to help. The registration process was smooth and the staff very friendly. I didn't get any updates unless I specifically asked for them, even though the doctor said they'd keep me updated throughout the day. However, I was able to speak with the doctor when I called, and they were very friendly and helpful and informative. I gave 4 starts instead of 5 because there's no waiting room for pet parents. After checking in (in the cramped entryway), the staff tells you to go home and they'll call with updates. But, I didn't hear anything and ended up calling to check on my kitty after 3 hours of not hearing from them. Overall, it was a good experience because the staff was helpful and answered all of my questions.

My dog, Zola, went in late at night due to having multiple seizures. Team was ready for her upon our arrival and understood the urgency needed for Zola. Kept us updated as much as possible (text, calls and pictures of Zola!). The care and compassion this team showed us during a difficult and scary time was outstanding. Zola ended up spending two nights with this team and we are happy to have her home and resting now. Since she has been home we have called a few times with questions and they were more than understanding and provided us with information. We are so thankful. I would also like to note the detail they went into to explain what was going on with Zola while she was there but also how to help her going forward (meds and care). I would hope Zola would not have to return again in the future but, if there ever is a time again, we would go straight here.

We had an incredible experience with Animal Emergency Hospital! We brought our sweet 2-month-old kitten, Harlow, in yesterday. She was struggling with fatigue and labored breathing, and they got her in right away. After diagnosing her with pneumonia, Dr. Abel and the front office staff held several conversations with both me and my husband regarding possible causes, treatment options, and their associated costs. Harlow was at AEH for about 8 hours receiving fluids, x-rays, and oxygen, and throughout the course of the day we received ample text and phone communication with the staff. I felt so assured all day that she was in good hands. They got her started on two different medications and sent us home with them, and the following morning (today) she was literally back to her normal self - they saved her life! We could not be more grateful!

I run a local cat rescue and I am always so impressed with their care if we get a cat that needs emergent care. Their triage process is laid out and easy to understand. They have done wonderful changing processes during the pandemic to keep humans safe and to be able to continue to care for the animals in need. The intake process is straight forward. I am always certain that the cats I bring in will get the best care. They even saved the life of a kitten we brought in who had pneumonia and wouldn't have made it through the night if they did not save her. They saved my girl's life. Our 2 saint Bernards had spay and gastropexy done this week our Molly didn't do so well and when we got her home there was massive bleeding. She was with the people at the AEH for 4 days and 3 nights and they were wonderful! They tolerated this anxious dog mama calling every few hours, even overnight to get updates. One of them talked me down when I was sobbing, terrified we were going to lose her. We got continuous updates and clear information about her status, her treatment plans, her lab results, and medications. They also provided clear financial information along the way so we could definitely make informed decisions. They even sent us pictures along the way! There will NEVER be enough words to express my gratitude for every single staff member, never. Everyone that works at the Animal Emergency Hospital on Plainfield are angels on earth and you cannot convince me otherwise. Every single member of that staff that I spoke with, texted with, encountered… all angels and I am FOREVER grateful for them, their compassion, and their knowledge. My 12 year old dog, Hank, had a sudden medical emergency and this was the only place open in the middle of the night and I am forever thankful for these literal angels saving my boy. They provided the best care and communication throughout the entire process and encouraged me to reach out at any time for questions or concerns. I never imagined or hoped to be in the position I was but when I found myself dealing with a crisis, they were there for me and my dog. The open lines of communication and texting program they have in place provided so much more comfort during such a scary time when the outlook was grim. They literally saved my baby, and there is nothing that I could do to ever repay them for what they did. Thank you, a million times, for being a light during the darkest hours.

It is a blessing to have a place like this, open 24/7, close to home. They took my Zoe in right away after she got into some trash and experienced food bloat. She spent the night there and the doctors and staff were very attentive, compassionate and great at communicating with me about my pet’s status. Jake got in a fight with his brother, and had his ear ripped. The folks at the Animal Hospital were sweet, caring, and eluded emphatic feelings and were helpful in explaining the process, I was advised earlier then later, Jake would be an over night guest. I got a call from the doctor, with in the hour I got home, and told i could pick Jake up in the morning and ensured me he was I good hands, and he was the next morning. Jake was release, with meds and clear care instructions. He is doing good. Rest assured they do their best providing the TLC that I would expect.

Quick response time, the vets were able to diagnose my cat and give her a diagnosis and stabilize her quickly. My cat had a stroke and they were very calm explaining to me what was going on. The staff are stellar. We appreciated their kindness, positivity, knowledge, and capability. The price was shockingly high, but that is not their fault. Our greyhound received sutures with general anesthesia, antibiotic, pain med, and sedative, for a total of around $1500.

These people were so great and understanding and caring. We drove 3 in a half hours because we couldn’t get with anyone closer too us and it was worth the drive and wait for them to save our cat. He was extremely sick with a botfly in his rib cage. He also had another worm before that, that had came out. This caused him to have two different types of infections so he was in a lot of pain. Me and my fiancé didn’t wanna watch him suffer anymore. If we had waited longer like other animal hospitals had told us he probably wouldn’t of made it. I highly recommend this animal hospital! They took care of our cat and everything they did was for a decent price. This is the place to go!

We brought our 17 year old cat, Autumn, to the hospital although she had already passed away before we arrived there. It was a Saturday and her usual vet practice was closed. Staff is highly knowledgeable and clearly care about animals. Our dog, Ace, had been here in the past for minor ailments (pink eye, gastroenteritis), but when he had been hit by a car and broke his leg, they took amazing care of him. They even referred us to specialty vets for follow up care. Shortly after leaving, he had a reaction to one of his pain meds and we rushed him back. They took great care of him and made sure he was comfortable and in the best shape he could be before discharging. We bring all our pets here for emergency care.

I wish I could give this place 20 stars. It is scary when something goes wrong with your pet. I feel very fortunate that I choose AEH. Hospitals for people could take a lesson on what good customer service is from this place. They made us feel at ease, and were in constant communication. The staff is amazing, caring, and kind. I would not hesitate to bring my dog back if the need ever arises. They don't just help animals, they help people attached to them. Thank you a million times over!!!

Our dog was hit by a car, we rushed him to the animal hospital. I was a mess. They took such good care of him and were all so nice. They loved him like he was one of theirs. They were not frustrated with me at all for calling so much to check on him either.

Our 6 month old puppy ran in front of a vehicle and was ran over. It was a Monday night after hours and no vet office on call in our area was answering our phone call. My cousin who is a veterinarian told us to get him to Grand Rapids as soon as we could to this animal hospital for sedation and fluids. I am so glad she told us to go here. We called and let them know we were on the way because we had an hour and a half drive a head of us. We were able to fill out some forms to get them out of the way before we arrived. As soon as we got there they took our dog back and started his evaluation. The technicians were so calm, nice and helpful. Before we even left the parking lot of the hospital the doctor was already contacting us on the phone and made us aware of Coopers condition and the plan of action she was going to take under our consent and kept us updated. I would strongly recommend this hospital to anyone needing care for their animal. I am so grateful we were referred here!

Hands down, best animal hospital I've ever been too. They were so compassionate and knowledgeable. My dog ended up having emergency surgery and they were able to diagnosis her within 10mins of us being there. We were informed and prepped for surgery within an hour of being there. Post op they kept in contact with us every step of the way and even sent us a nice recovery picture of our dog. Hoping we never have to go back, but would in a heart beat and will recommend them to everyone we know.

We are forever grateful for the care provided to our Callie! We were sent regular updates, including photos of how she was doing. Despite the uncertainty of if our dog would recover, it was comforting knowing that with certainty our dog was being well cared for. Callie left us for good just a few days later but I know that the love and care given to her during her 48 hours at this hospital helped give us that extra time with her. I couldn't recommend this emergency hospital enough.

I didn’t like having to wait without my pet for such a long time but he was hurting and I felt like he needed help. They did a wonderful job checking him out and making him comfortable. They sent him home with pain medications and told me he needs to lay low for a few days. So far he is doing better and not yipping in the night for nothing. Thanks to the staff for making his stay so comfortable. Thanks so much to Dr. Brinks for checking out my little boy. He’s my best little buddy.

We were visiting 1.5 hrs north of here (from 6 hrs away) due to a friends' mom passing. The day we arrived my little 13 yr old shih tzu had difficulty walking which then progressed to not walking. I must have tried 10 different vets and now one would see him. Finally I called AEH and they agreed to see him. I had to wait around 12 hrs from the initial call by the time the vet evaluated him (yes they have to prioritize the life threatening emergencies) but Dr Marilyn Brink spoke to me and explained her thoughts and was so kind and I could tell she had great concern for Hobie's well being and he wasn't just a number. She was able to get me into Dogwood Vet Referral Center the next day for an MRI and surgery. I am very grateful for her compassion and care. It's only been a few days but Hobie is doing great. I am very grateful to all involved and especially Dr. Brink, thank you!

They took in my beloved Pomeranian quickly, and helped relieve him of a lot of pain. Carson greeted me and took him in and really made me feel like I was in good hands with her kindness and empathy. When they offered me options for more testing for his kidney that could possibly be a source of the problem AND continued to recommended that he probably doesn’t need a blood test right now since he is only 4 really helped put me at ease that they were doing the best care that they can in my budget. I am so grateful for this place always being open, I don’t know what I would’ve done otherwise.

I came in Saturday night with my dog who was acting off and ended up having a fever. They did such an amazing job, weren't too expensive and replied to my texts because I was so sad having to leave him there overnight. They provided updates, the staff were so so so sweet and Odin is feeling better. If you have an emergency, this is the place to go when your vet isn't open. They were transparent, did what they needed to do and treat your pets wonderfully!

Though the wait was long it was well worth it for the care and love my bird was shown. With the only avian vet in town moved I had to come to their facility and was met with patience, dedication and understanding. Our little pigeon was revealed to have a broken leg and was provided pain medication, a splint and a time frame for when to return for a checkup. I'm grateful they were willing to take an uncommon patient, after 10 different to calls to other facilities that wont see avian patients being able to work with them and their wonderful staff was a blessing to us.

This Place is filled with amazing staff who love and care so much for you and your fur babies. Sadly I’ve had to go 3 times the last few weeks and every time their service is outstanding. You can see the compassion and love they have for all the animals. Even though they are constantly slammed with patients all day, and working their butts off they make 100% sure that you and your babies are well taken care of. Remember they are slammed because people drive from all over to come here but thanks to them my rescue kitty Mia is on her way to health, and my best friends husky who got shot by her neighbor is able to live his life for many more years.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Unfortunately this was my second time here, first with our geriatric puppy and second time with our fabulous feline. Kitty had a urinary blockage. I was beyond worried about him and the vets were just fantastic both times I was here. And more then that, the entire staff is awesome. Friendly, knowledgeable, and probably most important they are caring people who obviously love animals. Our cat took a few days post op to turn a corner for the better (he’s back to normal now thankfully) and the vet assistant was so nice on the phone and so reassuring and gave wonderful advice the several times i called to make sure this was expected. I hope I don’t have to go here again but if I have another animal emergency I’m at peace knowing I can trust this place.

The staff and vets at this location are absolutely amazing. We recently brought our corgi in after he exhibited some pretty concerning symptoms in the middle of the night. Even at 1am, the staff was phenomenal. Super friendly, caring, and reassuring. Dr. Sheikh was very friendly, and incredibly informative. She did an amazing job. Every single person we interacted with was compassionate and showed the utmost care. When going to a vet, especially in an emergency in the middle of the night, cost can be a concern, but this was surprisingly reasonable. They also only did what was necessary for a thorough diagnosis and examination. At no point did we ever feel overly pressured into anything other than what was necessary, which is something we were worried about having never visited before. Between that, and the beyond amazing compassionate care provided by everyone even in the middle of the night, we recommend this office whole-heartedly.

My puppy had a severe allergic reaction to an insect bite/sting. From my first call in a panic to when I got to bring my puppy home, the entire staff was kind, helpful, and supportive. They answered my questions with patience and treated my dog like she was one of their own. The vet I spoke with over the phone was informative and took the time to fully explain the situation. I'm happy to report that our little girl has made a full recovery 24 hours later thanks to the great care of Animal Emergency Hospital. I would recommend them to anyone!

Although they are often busy (a sign of a good clinic!), they truly care about each and every pet that enters their clinic. I had no worries about the care my Little Dude was getting. Every single staff member was amazing. I have nothing but wonderful things to stay. I took my very, very sick 5 month old lab in to the emergency. He stayed for 5 nights. The veterinarians called me, sent me text updates, and even photos of Zeus throughout his stay. They were upfront and honest about his chances, the risks, and the cost. I had a great experience with AEH when my dog, Lulu had an unexpected illness after normal vet hours. Despite this place being so busy all the time, everyone was so patient, kind, and compassionate when I called frequently for updates. We were so worried when we brought our cat in, but we could immediately tell that they were going to take great care of her just by how they were on the phone and in person when we got there. They assured us when we left her overnight that we could call or text at any time for an update, and as a rather paranoid pet owner that meant the world to me. The veterinarians that treated her were so thorough in their descriptions and instructions and truly addressed everything we could think of and more. We also had no idea was wrong, and within a short time of her being there they called and had a very good idea of what happened and helped us piece together what happened. She is now home with us and doing much better, and the discharge papers are thorough and so helpful. I called to ask a question after she came home and they were happy to consult the vet and answer. They will also work with you on budget concerns, and the estimates in the treatment plan they give (as soon as they know what’s up! So fast) were explanatory, straightforward, and easy to understand. We are incredibly thankful for everyone at AEH.

Very caring staff! When I was not able to be seen in Kalamazoo because they were too full, I was given phone numbers of places in Grand Rapids. I called the first number to be sure we could be seen there as we would have an hour to drive and my cat’s symptoms were those of a situation that can be life threatening. I was assured we could be seen. A few minutes in to the drive and I received a call back and was informed that the Byron Center location would be closer for me and they were already aware I was on my way. That is caring customer service. And that care continued once we arrived. My cat Arugula and I are home and he’s on the mend. I’ve already been recommending this hospital to everyone I know!

We were taken care fairly fast once we submitted our forms for intake for our kitten. the information and treatment that we received was extremely helpful especially because all of our cats/kittens had been tested on several occasion from our Vet with negative results only to find that those test were not right. It has salved a mystery (worms) that has been a very long road for cats. the staff was very nice and caring. cant thank you enough

The staff here are very patient, kind, knowledgeable, & helpful. We went in for emergency treatment for our 2.5 yr old standard poodle who had bloat. It was very scary to see him in so much pain, but the vet was very reassuring. Unfortunately I cannot put 5 stars because it was SO INCREDIBLY EXPENSIVE. Yes, I understand inflation, etc. And yes, they gave our boy excellent care. But most people I know who have been through this didn’t have the same astronomical costs. Other than that, our experience was good.

Ziggy cut his paw on some unknown object and this was the first place we found that was open. They took him in quickly and the registration/sign in was easy to do online. Understandably the wait time was a few hours before we were able to get an update (they’re very prompt with text updates and answered all questions I had over the phone while we waited at home) The vet who took care of Ziggy was extremely kind and did her best to accommodate our financial needs while still providing the best care for him! 100% recommend this place if your baby gets hurt, they’ll take such good care of them! Ziggy’s a little drowsy from sedation but very happy to be home and feeling better❤️

They kept us up to date on our pet's condition and were able to provide him with the care he needed much faster than I expected for an emergency hospital. Having the two hospitals was great since we got seen more quickly. My almost 14 year old Boston Terrier started having seizures in the middle of the night. I called the Animal Emergency Hospital, and then completed the online registration as requested, then rushed him in. They met me at the door, and took Buster as he was having another seizure. They were able to get him stabilized, and gave him the proper care. They took such good care of him, and he came home about 36 hours later. He has been seizure-free since. He seems to be slowly recovering (as expected), and even tried to bring my sons a toy to play soon after coming home. It will be a bit of a long road, but we are certainly on the right track. Thank you for taking such good care of my Frosty Bosty. He means the world to me and my family, and we are so grateful to still have him with us, and on his way to getting better.

Our 5.5 month old kitten came down with an upper respiratory infection, that rapidly got worse in a few hour span. They were able to get us in within 30 minutes of filling out the online form, and he was home back with us within around 3.5 hours. They offered a multitude of different treatment options for us, and we were able to leave the clinic with his medicine and a thorough care plan. Emergency services for anything are never “cheap” but they are still reasonably priced in my opinion. They were very efficient and communicative throughout the time of him being there. I brought our older cat here a few year ago for something else, and we had a good experience then too. They care about your fur babies here!

Called and took my cat in after a change in behavior, frequent urination outside of litter box, and debris in his urine. They said it was a slow night, but they were able to get him checked out and treated in less than 10 hours and gave him pain medicine and a new kind of food for his issues. The people were very sweet, and it was relatively inexpensive based on what I've seen from emergency vets. I wouldn't have been able to get to my regular vet for several weeks, and the speedy service was well appreciated!

We had to take our cat in for an emergency visit. This was the closest emergency veterinarian hospital but was still 45 minutes away. The staff was amazing! From the time we checked in online to our time at the hospital and throughout our entire experience. After our cat’s emergency surgical procedure the doctor contacted us and we were able to talk to him and he fully explained everything he found and how it was treated. Dr. Matthew Heydenburg and all the staff we had contact with were wonderful! They took such great care of our cat and I was put at such ease knowing he was in such capable hands! We brought our dog in after we noticed several stitches were missing from a procedure he just had done at his vet. From the beginning, Jess was amazing telling me to come in right away, she took him back and let me know they had to keep him overnight due to an infection and to sedate him so they could put more sutures back in. Communication was amazing from the time I left to when I picked him up. Dr Sheikh was awesome, called me and explained everything thoroughly to me, step by step on what they need to do. There's not enough words to describe how amazing this vet hospital is! After a freak accident with our kitten, Graydon, while on vacation in Silver Lake, we couldn't find any vet near us to help. I had the misfortune of needing to take my cat for emergency services over the holiday weekend but I'm so glad I chose this facility. She was having trouble breathing and rapidly deteriorating when I brought her in so I thought I may lose her but the veterinary team was able to stabilize her and she came home the next day. The staff was so caring and also did a great job keeping me informed throughout the process. If I ever do have another pet experience a medical emergency I will not hesitate to choose AEH again.

Thank you to the staff at AEH for taking such great care of Mr. Garcia. The wait time was insane, but understandable. We knew it would be a long wait, but the check in system was a brilliant idea. I allowed us to monitor our guy at home since his need was urgent but not an emergency. I expected the bill to be much higher so I was pleasantly surprised. I love the fact that Mr. Garcia was personally acknowledged for being a good boy on his discharge papers. Lastly, I want to acknowledge how very busy the staff is at AEH. I drive by on a daily basis and the lot is nearly always full. If you need urgent or emergency care be patient and understand that the staff is doing everything they can to see your pet.

My pup Skittles got sick while we were on vacation. She couldn't keep anything down and just kept vomiting. It was a Friday night, so only Vet ERs were open. We checked in online, filled out the comprehensive intake questionnaire, and waited in the comfort of our family's house. Once they were ready for my pup, they sent me a text and we made our way to the Animal Emergency Hospital in Grand Rapids. They checked us in, took her vitals, and talked with me about what was happening. Then, they recommended I return home to wait given it could take up to 8-10 hours for her to be seen (because she was in stable condition). I returned home to wait. The clinic texted me with clarification questions about what medications I had given my pup that day. A couple hours later, the vet called to speak with me, update me on Skittles' diagnosis, and confer about potential treatment options. Once we agreed on the path forward, they let me know it would be another hour or so before she could come home and that they would call me. Sure enough, a bit more than an hour later, they called to let me know Skittles was ready. They took my payment over the phone and once I arrived, I collected my sleepy girl who was already feeling much better. I highly recommend the Animal Emergency Hospital in Grand Rapids for any urgent care needs for your pets. Be ready to wait if your animal is stable, but they take great care of them! They also have a 48-hour no fee guarantee where you can bring your animal back within 48 hours of discharge if they are not getting better and the ER visit fee is waived.

My sweet girl was hit by a car. I brought her in and they took excellent care of her. We received updates via text and the vet called us with the plan of care. All costs were explained upfront. We were able to bring her home 6 hours later (she's a warrior pup) with medication for pain and details on how to care for her. Highly recommend!

Most importantly, my cat got wonderful medical care. There were a couple of things though that put this clinic at the top of my list. First off, I could text and get updates of my cat at any time. Even at midnight! That was huge, because my mind thinks the worse sometimes, and it was very reassuring. Second, there was a nurse assigned to my cat. Again, very comforting. And third, there is a designated cat area. No dogs barking to increase my cats stress. They had a hidey hole for her and used calming pheromone spray. These things are so important for my peace of mind and my cats healing.

I went to the Byron Center location. Staff and vet were very friendly and took great care of my pup. I went in at 12am and they took her in right away. I have very high anxiety in stressful situations and their kindness and professionalism really put me at ease. I couldn’t wait in the vet, which is fine because I’d honestly rather wait in the car, but they did let me use the restroom when needed.

Our Charlie became suddenly ill on Sunday. We could tell he felt horrible. The staff at Animal Emergency Hospital took excellent care of our boy, and kept us informed through text of how things were going and also provided us with pictures of Charlie. Charlie ended up needing to stay in hospital until Tuesday, and the staff was so professional when I called to check on him. Thankfully our boy responded well to treatment and is feeling much better.

After returning from a Xmas eve gathering we discovered my dog had consumed almost an entire box of chocolates that were wrapped under a try. The hour was late and the roads were terrible, but off we went. My dog was taken right in to begin treatment. The staff was friendly, considerate, and patient. They were so nice, especially since they were all working on a major holiday in terrible weather. Willow spent the night and came back as though nothing had happened! I want to add that the cost came in less than than anticipated.

We got right in & my cat was quickly admitted & we got home in good time. My only suggestion is it would have been nice to meet one of the doctors who treated my cat, such as when I went to pick him up.

Our 2 month old pomeranian fell and broke her leg. They got her in as fast as they could(did take a little while due to life threatening cases that were there, I understand). They took good care of her. Staff was very nice even with me being so worried and anxious to get her fixed up asap. I can't say enough good things about the experience I had here. My cat was acting very lethargic & not eating & I was so worried about him. They were able to get him in promptly to be seen when no one else could. He's a senior cat who can be aggressive with people & other animals & they kindly took that into consideration & never made me feel bad for the way he acted with them. They updated me regularly & explained everything in detail & answered any & all questions I had. My boy is already feeling much better & acting like his old self. Cat decided to go ham on some Tide detergent he knocked over onto the ground. Their online pre-appointment site is easy to use, just make sure you fill it out before hand because this permits them contractually to treat your pet. The faster it's filled out the faster they can help. As long as you do this, it’s easy sailing. They updated me every step that would cost more money. They could be a bit faster response wise as far as updates went; but as is usually the case no news is generally good news. As far as my pet goes everything they helped with was: induced vomiting, slow IV treatment and hospitalization after his temperature increased to 105 which also helped resolve breathing issues and possible pneumonia. He is now doing much much better with forced medication. And to top it all off despite them being nice their front desk/helpers just need a bit more experience as far as customer service goes making people feel more comfortable when they get through the locked doors.

A few days ago, our pup ingested a glove that became lodged in his stomach and intestines. The hospital performed a life saving operation, and our pup is now recovering at home. From check in, to communication, to discharge, the process was smooth and easy to navigate. Someone answered the phone every time I called and promptly answered my questions, no matter the hour. I am so grateful to the staff for saving our little buddy. Furthermore, emergency vet bills, and especially those involving an emergency surgery, are high, but our final total ended up at 2/3 of the original projection. This was a welcome surprise and saved us thousands. I will definitely use them again if there is ever an emergency.

Staff was friendly and seemed gentle with my dog. Took quite some time from check in to check out. They were busier than expected. But after speaking to two different people about his prognosis and meds, then told they just had to get his discharge papers, it was close to 2 hours before I could pay and get my dog out of there. Expect high prices and long wait times. Total time was about 6 hours and paid about $750 for physical exam and meds. Tip: sign in before you leave your house.

Great experience!!! I came at 12:30 am with my cat with a severe allergy reaction from the rabies vaccine. she was having seizures, fever and she was having a hard time breathing. Everybody at the hospital was extremely helpful and understanding, they grab her a soon we got there even though they were really busy five minutes later they came out with the treatment that she needed to let me know and have her in observation 5 h till she completely recovered. Everybody was extremely sweet !!! I’ll recommend this place a 1,000 times!!!! Thank you so much to everyone at Animal emergency Hospital!!!! You guys are doing such a good job!!!

We arrived on a holiday weekend, only to find the wait was several hours. Normally that would be a complaint - but it's not. Animals in immediate danger were seen first, and stable animals were sent home to wait for a text to return for their appointment. Putting animals in greater need ahead of others is why AEH is so great - they care about the best outcome for every animal much more than the lack of patience some owners may have. In the end, my pet was seen, diagnosed, and discharged the same day, and the wait was not horrible because they took the time to do a quick vitals exam and determine that his life was not in danger. I've been a customer for years, and undoubtably will be for several more.

AEH was sooo busy and it was Christmas weekend. But they still got my girl in and got her diagnosed and took great care of her! They even were considerate of my situation, running a 24/7 tow company in the middle of a blizzard, and were patient with me on getting back to pickup my girl. Thanksgiving was a night we will never forget. After a day of good food and celebration with family, our 8 year old doodle became very Ill at about 6pm. We thought it was food that may have been given to him so we called the ER to see what we should do. Because of his symptoms (lethargic, retching with nothing coming up, and not wanting to move) they recommended he be seen immediately. They gave us step by step instructions on how to check in and the process they had for dropping him off. We opted to wait in the car and after an hour the doctor called to inform us Miggy had bloat and a twisted stomach, which was not caused by the food. She went through the severity of the diagnosis and allowed us to come in to sit with Miggy and review the options. We were so blessed with the staff at the GR vet hospital. Every one of them had our Miggy’s best interest. The communication was more than I ever could have asked for. The Dr that worked on our doodle even spent over half hour on a phone conference with me and Miggy”s Vet, Dr.Innes to determine the best procedure. We chose surgery and the doctor called us at 12:30 am with the status. It was a success and we were very thankful it went well. We were able to pick Miggy up the following day and he is now resting as I write this. We are VERY pleased with the Animal hospital and recommend for any emergencies you may have with you fur baby.

Everything about the actual emergency hospital experience was 5 stars: friendly, concerned staff; low wait time; speed of diagnosis and plan of action; transparency of costs. The only negative was the cumbersome online registration process. It took a 1/2 hour to complete and forced me to re-enter the same information twice. This is the last thing you want to do when all you can think about is getting your sick animal to the hospital.

My 7 wk old (orphaned at 2 days) kitten was pretty sick. URI, black tarry stool and low blood sugar. They gave me a couple options and didnt pressure me into anything. They even suggested I DON'T spend the higher dollar amount because she is till pretty young. They gave her fluids via IV, dewormer and sent me home with some special food and probiotics. I've had cats most of my adult life and this is the first time I've had to bring one to a vet for being sick. They made the process very easy. I highly recommend them to anyone. My kitten is recovering and now eating regularly. Still nit as spunky but much better.

This is our 2nd time visiting AEH and truly so impressed with the quality of care we've received both times. The first time we visited was treatment of our dog from a dog attack and the 2nd for a burst abcess on our cat. There will be a long wait time (it's just like a regular person ER), but they are super flexible about allowing you to go home, talk to the vet over the phone, and pick up your pet when you're ready. You can also opt to approve charges before treatment and negotiate what services you'd like. The vets were very informative and the space is clean, inviting, and the staff are highly skilled. My older cat developed a tooth infection over the weekend (of course). His eye was swollen, he had a large bump on his nose, and I could tell he was uncomfortable and it shouldn’t wait until normal business hours. The Animal and Emergency Specialty Hospital in Byron Center has a streamlined, online appointment process. They sent me a text within minutes and I was able to bring Leroy in that morning. When I arrived at the beautiful facility they offered two options; I could wait or drop him off. I opted to drop him off so I could go to work. They kept in touch with me via text and called with results and plan suggestions and were transparent with costs. They communicated clearly if other life-threatening cases come in, those are priority. I was able to pick up Leroy after my shift and they gave me instructions and all medications. Was it expensive? Of course! It’s specialized, emergency treatment! Their training and knowledge took many, many years and lots of dedication. Have you been to the ED at the hospital lately? Use that price-point as a comparison. Vets train as long as MDs. While I was there, a family arrived to pick up their dog’s remains. The staff treated this sad moment with the grace and dignity and it deserved. They lit candles, the pupper was encased in a zipped up bag, and they quietly wheeled the remains out to the family’s car. If there is another emergency situation with my pets, I would definitely call on these providers again.

Especially when I was asked how long it took for us to get there. There was 40 minute drive & i still had to wait & wait. My first visit here was in 2011 at 1:00 in the morning. People don't realize that in a life and death situation with your pet that you are suppose to love and care about, that time means everything. My Vet will not open up in the middle of the night or on the weekend because my pet is in an emergency situation. In case you people have never been to a hospital emergency room....they charge alot more too! Same with pet emergency. Now on my third visit here, the second was to take my 11 yr. old Dachshund here for bleeding and the 3rd to take him back and leave him overnight, which was 13 hours later on a Sunday. I would rather have him watched by these people than have him home and have something go seriously wrong before I could get him help. He has all night care by Vets and staff for medical issues that I know nothing about! They have always been caring and attentive and I would take any pet of mine here again if it warrants an emergency situation. I love my pets that much!

I have to say first off, you must know what you are getting into when walking into an EMERGENCY hospital. I think many of the reviews on here do forget that. My pitbull was extremely sick and our vet recommend we take him straight to the hospital. Upon arriving there was 1 person in the waiting room as we walked in. My wife filled the paperwork out turned it in...and 1 hour later my dog was seen. The doctors here I do feel care about the animals, and our vet was very nice and respectful, it went down hill a bit with the shock of the unknown as we still do not know what caused our dogs disease. Anyways, sidetracked...we had no other choice but to pay the bill and leave him overnight, knowing a blood transfusion may be needed. I called in the morning to pick him up as we feel it's best for him to fight this out at home, but the entire process to pick him back up went very well, though as well it took about 45min. Long story short...we payed a lot of money, staff was nice, prices are high. Unfortunately I feel it prices the animals out of a life at times! I would recommend if your animals life is on the line.

My luna she is a Rotti was not feeling good for a few days . She was having stomach issues and puking. I live in Fremont mi. And once my boyfriend got home he rushed our dog here. They were excellent. They took good care of our baby . Reasonable priced for what was needed done as our vet wouldn't take her during the day as they were full . Luna is still recovering. But she has gastornitis. Bug that has to run it's course. Apparently dogs can pick up sickness from us because both my bf and I had it as well as week before .

Summer 21 A good place to take your pet for emergency care. From my visit their goal is to take care of Fido from initial visit to ready to go home condition. However, this can come with a great cost and options are not communicated for those that wish to provide at home care to make the cost reasonable. I brought my dog in for an intestinal blockage, this has happened before as she likes to play in the sand. Which she won’t be doing any more. We received the exact same treatment plan as a 24 hour vet in metro Detroit so knew they were spot on in diagnosis and treatment. However the cost of treatments and radiology beyond the initial ER visit are outrageous compared to my default 24 hour service provider in Detroit. 3 times as much!!! After initial diagnosis and treatment (shots) they wanted to keep her for observation and hydration. To save 1-2k$ Off their treatment and observation plan I opted to take her home and do it my self. 6 hours later the blockage passed and all was well. Had I not been down this road before with my pet I would have been out $2000 easily. I opted to take care of her and stopped at a third if that. I’ll reiterate same txt plan at my default 24 hour provider was $240 vs almost $700 here. You will receive good thorough care albeit at a hefty price. There’s a reason the advertisement on the front door is for a line of credit for veterinarian services. ——update I called to discuss costs immediately after visit before their posted reply. My concerns fell on deaf ears. Good care….. incredibly over priced. Pet owners are not made of money. At least give a reasonable charge on any line items. Does every small service have to be a big ticket item? Recently, My local vet ER followed this policy. They provided me supplies and instructions how to administer subcutaneous fluids to my terminal dog at home. They know customer’s are not a bank with unlimited funds.

I cannot recommend this animal hospital enough!! My sweet girl Penny was having some bad tummy issues and our vet is located two hours away, where I am originally from. I panicked and randomly chose them off google to get some help. Not only were they beyond professional, but the online check in process before hand saves SO much time, and additionally when I got there they treated her with nothing but kindness and as if she was their family! I will most defiantly be bringing Penny back if I ever need anything again. Dr. Bink is the doctor who treated my pup, and she was not only beyond professional, but truly took the time to make sure I felt comfortable with the plan of action, she additionally took time out of her busy schedule to call me personally and text me updates. *Also a very COVID friendly place, only dogs enter and wait time outside is not long at all.

Awesome emergency hospital. I had a bad experience at an emergency vet a couple if years ago. Swore I'd never go to another UNTIL mt cat acted like he was plugged. By the grace of God I found Animal Emergency Hospital. I called them and relayed my cat's history, grabbed my cat and we drove an hour and 10 minutes to get there. They were transparent, honest, friendly and professional. They did only necessary diagnostics- nothing fancy. Are they expensive? Yes but if you want quality care for your fur kid- this is the place to come. I hope not to have to make many emergency trips but if I do, I'll be going back to Animal Emergency Hospital. Thankfully my cat is doing better. He wasn't plugged but he has an infection.

They did such an amazing job taking care of our pup!! Every person we interacted with was fantastic. Their staff was so communicative with updates and allowing us to text for an update at any time. Their response times were incredible and they even sent us photos throughout our pups stay. They seemed to be incredibly busy and still took the time to do these small things that make a pet parent feel at ease. Dr. Westerhof did a great job explaining what was occurring and answering all of our questions. She also worked with us to provide the care our dog needed while keeping cost in mind as this was a concern for us. We can’t thank them enough!

I cannot express how thankful I am for Dr. Barscewski and the rest of the team at AEH. My boy Hamlet had quite a scary sick day yesterday after eating a mouse which is very out of character for him and around 1am after lots of vomiting and shaking and strange behavior I decided it was time go go in. We were greeted with kindness and compassion and he was quickly and calmly taken care of as soon as we got there. Everything was explained to me thoroughly and thoughtfully and I felt confident in everyones ability to get my boy back to 100%. They called me periodically through the night with updates and Dr. Barscewski was the sweetest ever. Hamlet is now home and resting comfortably in his bed and I could not be more grateful to everyone involved with his care. I will always recommend this facility. Thank you!

Our pup went in for emergency surgery this weekend. We felt completely in the loop on his status and progress during prep, immediately after surgery, and throughout the next morning as he started to recover. We received photos, text messages and phone calls throughout his overnight stay, which made us feel connected to him. All of our questions were answered throughout and the staff has been extremely kind and welcoming. Although I hope we don't have to make another emergency hospital visit, we would highly recommend Animal Emergency Hospital if your pet is ever in need of care.

This place was absolutely amazing. my chihuahua Lulu suffering from congestive heart failure was without meds for a few days and I had taken her to the VCA in Kalamazoo which I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. They would not help me get her meds for a couple of days while waiting for the shipments to come in. I called up this place and they were more than happy to help treated Lulu in a very timely fashion and the staff was so nice and pleasant to work with. And Dr. Samantha Barscewski was super helpful and very nice. I was amazed at the level of care received compared to that of vca Kalamazoo.... would highly recommend this place... and my Lulu l is doing fabulous. Thank you so much AEH of grand rapids..

I took my 3-month-old kitty in for cold symptoms that just wouldn't go away. The wait was long but that was disclosed up front and I was able to get in line at home & wait for a call. The treatment time was reasonable, they even call at 3:45 am :) I had the option to speak with a doctor BEFORE any care was given or at specific price levels. I did speak with the doctor, she laid out the treatment plan and the cost up front. Every person I spoke with was extremely nice and kind and I could tell they cared! This helped to alleviate my worry some and I am grateful for their kind and hardworking hearts & hands! Camilla is on the mend. 4 stars only because of price. $423 for treatment & medicine, no overnight stay. I understand that it is for emergency service but the cost is over-the-top! With the difficulties of getting seen by "regular" vet offices, I cannot begin to express my gratefulness that these folks are around but I also wish there was a way to make things a bit more affordable for the general public. I will say they accept Care Credit and a 3rd party payment plan to help get your pets care immediately. Overall, it was a good experience and I am pleased with the care we received ❤️

We live in Ludington, approximately 90 miles from any animal hospital. Our little dog was poisoned . This was late at night. The hospital took her immediately and within a couple of minutes she was in the hands of a highly qualified emergency veterinarian! This place is very important for West Michigan. They were all skilled, professional and very compassionate. They communicated with us frequently all along the way. Our dog fully recovered and we were discharged with clear instructions and provided a phone number to call 24/7 if we had further questions. We had a wonderful outcome and these special people made what was a frightening experience tolerable. We highly recommend Animal Emergency Hospital if your pet needs emergency care.

Animal Emergency Hospital provided excellent service that I hope we never have to use again! I have taken my dog to this hospital twice and their quick intervention saved my dog’s life both times. It is such a terrifying helplessness to drop off your sick pet and go home and wait, but after our first experience, I trusted they would reach out with any important updates. They called about 4 hours after we dropped her off and talked through our options. I think I am probably the worst version of myself in these moments, but they handled my panic with expert calm and explained medical information in a way that was digestible, even in crisis. I felt respected and as if we were truly a team trying to figure out the best care options that I could afford without judgement or shame. My pup is a sensitive gal and she seems more traumatized when I pick her up from getting her nails done than she did when I picked her up from an overnight hospital stay! This along with their detailed stay summary and care plan leads me to believe they are taking great care of their patients behind closed doors. What incredibly difficult work to do and I am so appreciative that y’all do it so well. Thank you!!

I was panicked about the state of my dog when I first called and they calmly asked thorough questions that helped me find the words to describe my dog's situation. When we arrived to the clinic, Ashley was reassuring and communicative about next steps and what to expect. The next morning, Dr. Francis called me and asked questions to better understand my dog's health history, address my concerns, and explain his blood work results. She gave me valuable advice about how to address potential future episodes and indicated she would send her documentation about his visit to my vet. I really appreciated the great care they provided my dog. Highly recommend.

4 months ago we brought my dog in after she was experiencing bloating and unable to get comfortable. It ended up being a malignant tumor, and we ended up having to help her cross the rainbow bridge, but the staff was amazing all things considered. They gave us as much time as we needed with her. My dog ate most of the contents of a packet of active dry yeast. I looked online to figure out if I should be concerned or not and was reading some conflicting information. I called Animal Emergency Hospital, talked through what had happened and, after a brief hold, was given directions to bring him in and why we needed to make sure he emptied the contents of his stomach. We arrived, the staff was very kind and helpful in the checking in process and with taking my dog back to a room. I received a phone call from the doctor after Duke had successfully thrown up and she talked through what happened and some after care instructions. About an hour later I was called again to pick him up and was told that he could go home. It was a pleasant experience given the situation. The staff talks to pet owners with respect and care. The price of their services are quite reasonable. Given the amount of animals I saw head in or out during my 2.5 hours sitting in the parking lot, I think these people are doing excellent critical care work, trying to take care of as many animals as possible. The people there were so nice!! They have such a calm demeanor that definitely helps with the stressful situation of having a pet emergency. I brought my puppy Fish in last night because of an injury and it helped relieve a lot of stress knowing he was in good hands. Fish was given a full exam and diagnosed quickly, better than the vet I had taken him to earlier in the day. I hope I don't ever have to bring another pet in as it's never a good thing to have to do that but I'm so thankful that AEH is available and will be my first choice if I'm ever in that situation again.

I do wish I could have met with the doctor rather than speak over the phone; I think this process (assuming due to Covid protocol) is difficult for both the staff and patients at this time. I was hesitant to go to the Animal Emergency Hospital based on other reviews. but we had a great experience. Their online check-in was very user friendly and we received prompt responses on wait time and when to come in. It was a very busy Saturday night and upon arrival there was a lot going on at the entrance. The tech staff was during their very best to triage the multiple people bringing their pets and trying to answer everyone in a timely matter. Admittedly, I was nervous to leave my pup, Luna, in the chaos, but she received great care. The anticipated wait time was accurate. She immediately was given pain relief and saw the doctor within the two hour time frame we were anticipating. The vet was very communicative and kind when she called to update us. Within an hour she was ready to be picked up. Overall, our visit took three hours from drop off to pick up and considering the amount of patients they had, I was happy with the timeline. Please be kind and patient with vet staffs everywhere... they are in over their heads, especially on a Saturday night when there are only minimal options for emergency care in the GR area. Thank you so much for caring for our baby and being so communicative and kind to us.

Wow! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I was so worried about my 7 month old puppy - and had to leave her there for almost 12 hrs on Memorial Day. From signing forms/waivers to hourly check-ins on my pup, each and every single staff member I interacted with put up with me with and were so kind, helpful, and supportive. The staff at the Animal Emergency Hospital was great. We had to leave our 2 year old GSD there overnight to recover from stomach surgery that he had at our vet's office. We were very worried to leave him as we have never left him anywhere overnight. Our worries went away when we realized how attentive and caring the staff was. We received text messages and phone calls with updates on our boy every step of the way. We were even told that we could text in the middle of the night if we wanted an update. We brought in our 7 month old puppy without registering her first - because we had never been there & we weren’t sure if what she was experiencing was life-threatening or not (sudden swaying while sitting up & lethargy & disorientation). They were extremely friendly to us & took our puppy back & instructed us to do the registration (but they still took her back) and the vet was super nice when she called also. I only wish that we could’ve stayed inside or with our puppy instead of leaving her there without us. However, we were extremely glad that she could come home that same night, just a few hours later

Our dog had multiple seizures in a very short time span. He just started having seizures a month and a half ago, seemingly out of nowhere and no other symptoms indicating any other underlying condition. We took him in and he had another one within the first hour of being there and they were able to complete various testing. He did end up having to stay overnight but we felt very comfortable and confident with having him there with them. They did a great job of keeping us in the loop and up to date on his status and condition. They also were more than willing to accept me calling and/or texting to check in on him as well. I never felt as though I was being a burden or a bother. They were all very kind and considerate and explained things in a way I fully understood. I would never want anyone to have to take their pet to emergency, but if you do, they are so wonderful and easy to work with.

My pet pigeon got an upper respiratory infection that set in fast and he needed antibiotics. This was the only place in the area that specialized in birds. Drove from kazoo.. Wasn't keen on leaving him, but it was the weekend and I knew that no one else would help. Vet was amazing and called within 40 minutes with a prognosis and answered all my questions. Picked him up 40 minutes after that which wasn't bad considering they were slammed with emergencies. Very reasonably priced especially compared to my regular vet. Highly recommend.

I recently took my cat here for the first time in the middle of the night by myself. I was very scared and wasn’t sure where I was even going. The staff was extremely friendly and comforting. They kept my cat overnight, and they immediately updated me upon my request. The vet personally called me in the morning and talked through everything with me, answering all of my questions. Leaving 3 stars because they were AMAZING with my dog who I brought in last month. They diagnosed her with epilepsy and prescribed her seizure medication that is working so well for her! I was very happy they took such good care of my girl ❤️ However, I brought my cat in over the weekend and she ended up needing a tooth extracted. The doctor told me that they generally don’t do tooth extractions, but that my cats tooth was falling out and needed to come out. They couldn’t give her x-rays to see if it all came out which I thought was weird for being an emergency vet. They also prescribed her pain medication and antibiotics that were a NIGHTMARE to give her. It made her sick, drool, walk wobbly, and she was unable to eat or drink for 3 days. I called back and they told me to just try baby food and to bring her to my vet if she still wasn’t eating. I am so glad I brought my cat back into her vet sooner because he told me that the pain medication and antibiotics were too strong and unnecessary for my cat. He gave her two shots and she was feeling better that afternoon! Finally eating, drinking and resting comfortably. So I paid over $100 worth of medication she doesn’t even need. Not sure if I will be back or not. Probably just for my dog and somewhere else for my cat. Just bummed me out because they were so AMAZING with my dog and not very helpful with my cat. 🥺

Our dog became very sick two weeks ago and wasn't eating and was vomiting continuously. It was a very busy weekend for the hospital so we waited for a call most of the day to take him in. However, when his condition became worse, they acted immediately and took him in for vitals and imaging. He was quickly diagnosed with a likely bowel obstruction and they performed surgery that same night. All of their team members were fantastic and the vet techs were so compassionate when it came to our pup and providing updates. Dr. Stephanie Wolffe is an amazing veterinarian (would recommend her again and again), and she saved our little guys life. She was very kind with our pup and you could tell how much he liked her when we visited in the two days following that he stayed at the hospital. She also did a great job explaining everything happening every step of the way, and she was supportive with us taking him home that third day to see if he would eat when he was not eating for the staff, which worked. Since this very stressful experience, he has made a full recovery, and we are so grateful for AEH.

I thought my kitten had been into some lilies because he was acting very lethargic and not like his normal self at all. Pet Poison control said to get him in to a vet right away, but it was after hours and AEH is the only 24 hr around. My husband drove while I completed the online check in, so when we got there, we were able to drop him right off and go home and wait for the call back. He had to stay for 48 hours for fluids and repeated kidney testing, and in the end he came home healthy. Got lots of pictures and updates on how much they loved the little guy.

My 1 year old lab Ruby had an allergic reaction and woke up with a VERY swollen face- I called, they gave me the number to text to register. I quickly got a text back to ring the bell right away when we arrive ( It was an hour drive) I received a call in about 1/2 an hour after taking her in from the Dr. and she had been given medication already to help her. They kept her for awhile after that before they could discharge her which as a puppy mama is frustrating, but understandable. They did send me a picture and she did look a LOT better!! That picture was SO helpful! She was smiling and her tail was wagging lol. As I sat in the parking lot ( like I said I live far away ) I saw SO many emergency patients going in, so patience is a must as it's an EXTREMLY busy place and life threatening things come first, as they should! Everyone was so nice! and I felt so comfortable with them taking care of my baby! I would not hesitate to go again ( hopefully it won't be needed! )

We took our 3.5 year old Aussie here in October 2019 after he started having grand mal seizures. The staff were so very kind and treated JJ like he was there own fur baby. Unfortunately JJ didn't make it (we still cry about it) and we had to let him go. The staff tried everything they could, but he wouldn't stop seizing. They helped us make the difficult decision to let him go. We still don't know why he started seizing, but the staff did their best. They sent us a card with their condolences a week later and it was a very appreciated gesture. We will definitely come here again if we ever need emergency care again (but hopefully we never do!!). My little pup, Oliver, needed emergency surgery to remove a foreign body in his stomach. I was initially not happy to leave him and wait at home, but they were in touch with updates and options and we were able to decide the best thing to do for our little guy. Since he had to stay over night, I liked being able to text for updates and the prompt responses. I always knew what was going on with him. They were so kind and reassuring and that helped the stress a lot. They told me they would "give him lots of love", how much they liked him - just little nice things things aside from the medical updates. I can pay them to take care of Oliver medically, but I can't put a price on their kindness and reassurance; I felt like he was getting lots of TLC aside from the medical care and I really appreciate that. I hope we won't have to use their services again for a very long time - it's a little stressful to have my pup hurting and needing emergency care. But, at least we know he will be well cared for if we do.

We had an incredible experience here! Our cat's health started declining rapidly throughout the day, and the employees here were so awesome at answering all our questions and explaining the process of his treatment. After bringing our cat home, he didn't worsen, but different symptoms arose & the staff were quick to have him come back in to another location to be re-assessed. It was more incredible that the employee helping us register via text was the same person who had loved and cared for our sweet baby the night before and happened to be working at the other location we were bringing him too that night! AEH took very good care of my Norris after he swallowed a half of a cob of corn!! 🌽😬 I registered online and waited for my turn to bring him in so they could check him out. They induced vomiting so that he would hopefully get it out himself before other measures would need to be taken. He was able to get it back up!! The staff was absolutely amazing, friendly, helpful, and loved on my pups!! So grateful that this facility is a 24 hour operation and put me at ease while I was waiting for him. One of the hardest nights of my life was when my beautiful Chocolate Lab (Daisy) passed away in the comfort of her bed at home. The worst part was carrying her to the truck and knowing I was going to have to leave her somewhere. The staff at this facility was great. I let them know I would be bringing her and they had a exam room ready and available in the far back of the building. They were extremely comforting and talked with me about her and my options for her remains. The room they picked for me had its own exit out so I didn't have to walk through the lobby looking like a disaster. I genuinely appreciate their assistance.

The doctors explained everything perfectly, made it easy to understand, and gave me every option available to me. They were transparent about cost, treatment, the exam and their final results. If you EVER need to take a pet anywhere, go here. They are the best I’ve ever seen. Forget anywhere else! Let me mention this too, I AM NOT BEING PAID TO SAY THIS. NO ONE IS FORCING ME TO UP THE ANTI AND GIVE GOOD MARKS FOR THE HELLUVIT. This is my honest to god, tear filled opinion and by god, I wont go anywhere else for my babies in times of emergency. I brought my 3 year old cat here after I found him covered in blood and urine and walking off balance. There was concern he had a urinary blockage but after some blood work and urinalysis, they found he did not have a blockage but did have what's called cat vertigo and some inflammation in his bladder. I brought him home that evening and have been giving him the medicines they prescribed him for 5 days now. He is still walking a little funny but the bleeding is gone! They took such great care of him. When the doctor called me she made me feel so assured and just comfortable with having him there. The staff is amazing at drop off and pick up. I know if I ever need them again in the future, that my animals will be loved and taken care of. Highly recommend!

My dog Saber had a neck injury that healed almost completely then he re-injured it on a Saturday and was in extreme pain. I took him in and was seen quickly and the vet worked with me to prescribe the same medications my regular vet did when the initial neck injury happened, plus a pain injection to make him more comfortable until those meds kicked in. They even printed a GoodRx coupon to save me some money on a prescription she had to write since they didn't carry the medication at the clinic. It is a bit pricier than a regular vet clinic but that's because they are open 24/7. Thankfully my dog is much more comfortable now!

Expect a wait time if it's not a serious injury or situation - though not their fault most times they're both incredibly busy and short staffed. I have heard great things about AEH so I called and was directed to the text check in program...inconvenient if you don't have someone to drive while on your way there. Upon arrival (9:30pm) I noticed how busy they were which I hear is all the time (must be the right place to be then) but given the status of our kitty they took her right in & was told to go home and wait to hear, I was notified through text as the process moved along. We had the best experience with the Animal Emergency Hospital recently. Our regular vet referred us here after we discovered what was causing our cat's behavior. I’m giving a 3 star mainly because I was told in person to stay in town that I will hear from someone within 1-2 hours ended being 5.5 hours I contacted them via 1 phone call and 1 text message before I got to talk to a vet so who knows how much longer we would of waited. They allowed us to text their doctor some photos to which they referred us to the Animal Emergency Hospital Grand Rapids. The ENTIRE staff was so kind, patient and reassuring. This hospital is super busy, but they manage their patients so well. I couldn’t be more appreciative of the doctors, techs and staff. Everyone was understanding of his nervousness, and they were so gentle with him. I’ve experienced many veterinarians in my life and this team absolutely exceeded my expectations. Having animals emergencies are never easy, but this team made it easier for not only Griz but all of us as we awaited his results. I am incredibly impressed with their check-in process! Took my Cavalier in during the night due to continued Nausea. Was met with a friendly face that took my concerns to the doctor. Unfortunately was not able to stay with my dog throughout and had to wait in my car but was communicated to throughout. They were able to stop the nausea and get him feeling better. One of our labs was hit by a truck on Christmas Eve. I was getting ready to take them for a walk when our 2 year old lab ran into the street and was struck. He was hit extremely hard and at first glance I thought he was dead. I scooped him up and rushed him to the Emergency Animal Hospital. The hospital was overwhelmed, there were 41 animals already waiting to be seen. They took him in immediately and made sure he was stable. From there it was a waiting game. It was amazing to see a staff that was obviously under pressure, on Christmas Eve to be so cool, professional and kind. Every interaction along the way made me feel like our pup was in good hands. We had no idea what the outcome would be, but I felt like he was getting the best care possible. After X-rays, ultrasound and getting his wounds cleaned up, he is back home safe. After witnessing him be hit, it’s a miracle that he didn’t have any broken bones or severe internal injuries. All this to say our family is grateful and impressed with our dog’s treatment here. I hope you don’t find yourself in our situation, but if you do you can be confident in the care your family member will receive. Thank you again Animal Emergency Hospital.

My German Shepherd collapsed on a Sunday and wasn’t feeling well, we loaded her up and I filled out the online registration and check in on the way. They took Myah in immediately when I arrived and took her back on a gurney. They said it could be a few hours before we would hear, however the doctor examined her right away. Unfortunately, the outcome wasn’t good and we had to make the hardest decision ever! I may not have my baby girl, but they made the experience as best as possible and were great with her and us. Firstly I want to say that the three stars are because my cat received AMAZING care and was saved and very well taken care of which is the most important thing. However my problem lies with one staff members attitude as well as policy/communication. I was told my cat had a urinary blockage which they treated, then they called me after everything to tell me that my over $2,000 bill was due today or they would stop giving my cat treatment. Wouldn’t accept a payment plan, and when I tried to run my credit card (which has a limit) it didn’t work, so I needed to call my bank to authorize it. They wouldn’t wait until first thing in the morning for me to pay in full because “The reality of the situation is that we’ve already been understanding enough, giving him care so far without payment, and your pet is very sick and we wouldn’t want him to go ALL night without care.” Not to mention the care credit and “scratch pay” they offer take 7-10 days to process? Even though it’s hospital policy to pay that day? Absolutely disgusting and a reminder to not go into the medical field if you don’t have care, compassion, and understanding. Really made me scared at how much they valued $$$ over care. 😢👎🏻

As my dog gets older she unfortunately needs emergency care occasionally. The vets here are so sweet and wonderful at their job. From reassuring me that my girl is okay to getting us in in a timely manner they were wonderful. Very communicative. One thing I really appreciated was that my dog wanted to smell EVERYTHING and the person who brought her in, even though she wasn't wearing a coat and it was very cold out, let my dog sniff around and see what was going on for as long as she needed.

I’m leaving as many details as possible for this review as I think it’s important for future patients to gauge if this is the right emergency facility for their situation. I’ll start with the positive. My pet and I were seen quickly and the digital check-in was a painless but thorough process. All staff were professional and friendly and updates were regular. When the doctor called I felt I had her undivided attention, and they were in no rush to get off the phone. They made sure I was aware of expected costs and outcome of treatment. Unfortunately, I do not think this is a good facility for long-term animal hospitalization. The facility seems to run smoothy for short-term treatment of injuries and trauma, but for emergency medical diseases I would likely go to another facility. Due to the high traffic of patients, and possibly lack of medical knowledge of the kennel staff, my dog left the facility in pretty rough shape. She was alive, which I owe to the veterinarians there, but due to her stress and GI issues her skin was very raw and irritated despite the best efforts of the staff to keep her clean. Her lips were bloody from excessively panting from stress and I felt slightly disappointed she was not given anxiety medications. However, overall, they are incredibly professional and well equipt to deal with injury and trauma. If you anticipate your dog being in the hospital for a few days to recover, maybe go to another facility more prepared to deal with long stays!

The people here were so kind and caring. They were efficient in caring for our kitty cat. They checked him in, got him seen, and reviewed everything with us in a relatively quick manner which was appreciated. The vet explained everything amazingly, answered all our questions, and went over things more than once to make sure we were informed of all our options. They worked with our budget without sacrificing care for our kitty. They put him first and made sure he got what he needed and didn't leave those doors without having a good treatment plan in place. Took my ferret here after I suspected she ate a string from one of her toys. The people were all very sweet and assured me that my girl was in good hands. She was able to come home the very next day. AEH is my go to for my critters in emergency situations. Always have good experiences with all the staff. Everyone is always really friendly and you van tell that they love what they do. One of my cats had emergency surgery and had to stay for a few days. Of course my family and I were worried sick for our princess, but the staff helped ease our worries. They were even sending pictures of her via text with updates! We don't go to AEH frequently (thankfully), but I'm always relieved when my pets are under their care! I can't recommend them enough!

But, it’s nice knowing there’s a high quality facility and caring staff at Animal Emergency Hospital to provide service when needed. We were kept up-to-date on our cat’s condition and involved in the decision making process (because of COVID protocols that was all by text and phone). Every nurse and Dr I spoke with were so nice and genuinely cared. You could hear it in their voices and see it on their faces. That was very reassuring knowing I was leaving my sick cat in good hands. I loved the option you could text them to see how your baby is doing. They were super busy and the wait of leaving my cat there was hard because it was a long time. I can’t be upset with them, they were very busy with a lot of critical animals. The only thing I would recommend to them is that when they call to give you the options of medical care expenses your animal has, is not to only tell you the most expensive option. When they called me, it was way over what I could spend and I asked if there was a cheaper plan but also recommended that my cat was going to be okay if there was. I had to wait even longer (which now it’s past midnight) and there was a cheaper plan. It was $700 cheaper. I went with that option and it was exactly what my cat needed and is his healthy happy self again. I still give them 5 stars because they were so caring.

My dog got a hold of my inhaler after my cat knocked it off my desk, he was given care as soon as we showed up and they kept us up to date on everything that was happening. The sent us a photo of him and we were given several reports of him being in his best behavior. I really appreciated how fast and reassuring they were with us it helped me sleep that night.

Overall, they were really a great group of people to deal with and they took really good care of our issue for our reptile. The only issue I had with them was that when I had to bring him back for a second antibiotic dose, I was told that this should be a pretty quick timeline to get that done, but was waiting in their parking lot missing work for over an hour and a half. But I am still not displeased with them regardless. They are extremely friendly and courteous and took extremely good care of our pet. I would definitely use them again. Just not when my work schedule is at risk.

The staff was warm and welcoming. Check in procedure was great, tho the online form is a little long and in some places repetitive. They took great care of my puppy Willie and helped me to work out what likely happened with the pup. Very patient and understanding. Thanks AEH!

One of my rabbits was having an eye issue that I needed to resolve before his regular vet was open again on Monday. Being a Saturday morning, I had to call several hospitals to check for availability and the willingness to see a small animal. AEH's receptionist was very friendly when I called with my concern and they were very sweet to my bunnies (they allowed the bonded pair to come together). The wait wasn't terrible either - I think we spent about 4 hours waiting - which is pretty good since we were lowest priority, and the cost was very reasonable. While the vet that took care of my Rascal said she wasn't specifically trained for rabbits, she was educated on what meds they can/can't have which was a big relief. In just 24 hours since starting his medication regimen his eyes look so much better. I am very grateful for the treatment Rascal received.

We had our first scare as new dog parents over this past weekend and the team at Animal Emergency Hospital were incredible. Everyone was super kind, and they texted us back quickly when we reached out for an update on our boy. The check out process was very smooth, and they explained everything they did for Luca as well as the medication we were to give him over the next couple days. I left their business feeling confident that they had done everything they could, and that I was able to take things from there. Sometimes with emergency rooms, they will do necessary tests, or try to convince you to do more, so that you spend more money. That so absolutely NOT the case here, and as much as I hope we don't have to come back here, if Luca is in need of emergency care in the future we will be coming back to Animal Emergency Hospital on Plainfield.

I am blown away by so many things during our recent visit/experience with emergency animal hospital. They were so kind, knowledgeable, and very informative with me. I went in with a 5 week old baby golden retriever who was completely lifeless, and I could tell they were going to do everything they possibly could to treat him, and care for him like it was their own pet. We were able to take him home the next day for a very reasonable price, with all the treatment and care he received. I would recommend this place to anyone!

We brought our dog Patches there Christmas morning for emergency care; he was a very sick pup. They were extremely busy, but did an initial evaluation right away. We ended up waiting for his actual care so they could take care of more urgent cases first. I was fine with that. They took excellent care of him from diagnosis to treatment, and he has since made a full recovery. Staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful. They even provided us with up dates throughout his stay. I would recommend them and will use them again should we have any more pet emergencies.

Our dog became very sick recently and sadly had to visit the hospital multiple times over a week. The staff and Vets were all so wonderful with communicating exactly what was going on and what next steps would be. They communicated with our primary Vet and the surgical hospital he needed to be transferred to. They not just took such good care of our pup but they helped ease our minds each step of the way! A needed service. Busy. Was left in a room for 90 min. while kitty evaluated for euthanasia as they had some critical cases. It happens. Could have avoided prepping kitty with an IV if the Dr. had come in sooner with evaluation results, as decided kitty just needed some meds and still in pretty good shape. The other thing was listed online pricing not completely accurate; there’s still an emergency fee on top of the office visit fee so plan accordingly. Gave 4 stars because the staff & Drs. were caring & knowledgeable, convenient location, clean.

I brought my cat in recently, who ended up staying overnight for treatment and observation. The staff was so kind and caring, very informative. They checked in with my every step before conducting testing or starting medication, were open about the cost, and even sent me picture updates of my cat twice during her 24 hour stay. I was able to text for updates and get answers quickly, despite the long check in/wait times (they're very busy, I get it). I was glad to be able to check in online and wait at home.

I have brought my pets twice. The first experience was with my younger cat who was septic and needed emergency care. The second experience was more recent with my other cat who needed urgent but not necessarily emergent care. My expectations for my “urgent” visit were probably off. It was very frustrating because it took 7 hours and they had only gotten through one step of the workup. I had to call every couple of hours to see how it was going. I was frustrated but they were very professional on the phone. I recognize that my expectations were off. I would recommend that they are more open about what to expect if your pet isn’t in a dire situation. Priority goes to the emergencies, which makes sense. I just didn’t realize that it would take so long. Otherwise, I highly recommend them. They provide excellent emergency care.

Our 6 month old puppy, Noodles, suddenly became lethargic and could not stay awake. We were able to get him in immediately to the Animal Hospital. The staff were friendly, helpful and we were assured he was in good hands. Many tests later and with much diligence, they discovered the culprit, got him on antibiotics and within 24 hours, he began to feel better. They literally saved his life and we are forever thankful!

The morning after Christmas, We called AEH at 2:30 am and they were great from start to finish. Our 5 month old pup had food bloat (inhaled 6-7 cups of adult dog food in a short amount of time) and he was miserable. We have no doubt he was given the best care and after a long day he was ready to come home. We received text updates and a phone call to go over the plan. It was a bit hard to get through by phone but they had a ton or patients at the time plus our pups care wasn’t on hold which is the most important part. The cost was actually cheaper than I expected being a emergency facility. The cost wasn’t a factor to us- the health of our pup was priceless. We hope to not have any more dog ER visits but if we do, we would chose them 100%.

I can’t say enough what a great experience I had here, I called a million places worried sick about my cat Luna (first time pet owner lol) and this was the first place that not only said yes bring her in but spoke to me with such kindness and empathy. From the moment I dropped her off they were constantly texting me with updates, even going as far as letting me know what a sweet girl my cat was. That communication and human touch really made all the difference while I was stressing over what was wrong. I had contacted the other 24 hour emergency center in Grand Rapids before I ended up coming here from Muskegon. The staff was amazing! On the phone they were very helpful and had a much shorter wait time than anticipated. They were also very upfront regarding the fact that depending on what other emergencies came in while my sweet girl was being treated that it possibly could take longer for her to come home. The doctor called me right after she saw my girl and thoroughly explained what was going on and what the treatment would be and what the wait times would be depending upon the results of how quickly my girl responded to treatment. They were patient with my questions and my numerous phone calls. The cost was quite reasonable and no unnecessary treatments/tests were done. I highly recommend this office for your after hours fur baby care.

I love the animal emergency hospital. For unfortunate things I've had to bring two of my own pets in and each time they were very kind patient and took great care of my animals even though they were very very busy. They were especially accommodating considering my dog has special handling requirements due to anxiety and they were patient and kind to her and took very good care of her, when I picked her up I could see that the staff had definitely earned her trust. I love how they take the extra steps to send anxious pet owners pictures of their fur babies when they can't be there, provided communication via text message, and they have also been extremely accommodating with pick up times in circumstances where I've had to bring my cat in the middle of the night but had to work the next day. They also have a great check-in system in my opinion allowing you to wait at home to keep your pet comfortable while waiting for your turn. I wouldn't want to put my pets care in the hands of anyone else, thank you to the staff.

Even though the hospital had a lot of patients, they were able to get my dog in to quick wrap his paw the day he injured himself. We were told to keep our spot in the queue for the following day; we were seen in the morning and we were able to pick our dog up surprisingly quickly after his procedure. They had an influx of many critical patients prior to seeing our dog and they were still vale to get him seen promptly. Great service and communication by this animal hospital! I highly recommend!

I really highly recommend this place. They save my Princess Mia life. Over the the New Year Holiday weekend she got a really bad infection in her eyes and her doctor could not see her until the following day. After reading all their reviews, I decided to take the plunged and decided that there is no way I could wait another day before she was seen. I registered on line within 10 minutes after completing the registration they text me and told me to head over to the hospital with my Princess. Within 2 hours after I had dropped her off the doctor called me and explain what had to be done in order to relieve her pain. And how much it would cost. Since it was the holiday money was really tight since I was laid off 2 weeks before the holiday started. They referred me to a few sources to help me with the financial situation and they even worked with me so the cost was not so high. Which other vets would have not cared and did tested that was not required. This place really cared about me and helping me keep my little girl alive. They were very compassionate to what I was going thru. I am so forever grateful for saving my little girls life. And let me tell you Rhett their service was so quick I've never received such amazing service. Everyone there was just so kind and helpful very very organized. So in conclusion to my really long review I very highly recommend Emergency Animal Hospital. And all the great reviews that I had read before decided to take my Princess there were all true they met all my expectations and more. Why can't any of the vets around this area be all like this Hospital.

We brought our cat in about 10 pm on a week night. The office was clearly busy however we never felt rushed or like they were to busy for us. Quite the opposite, they were kind, attentive and very comforting. It was so scary leaving my cat not knowing anything about this office. Our dog got hit pretty hard with a tennis ball in the eye and needed medical attention in the evening. His vet was closed at this time so our only other option was to find emergency care. Glad we called here bc we were eventually seen that night. Although they were extremely busy our dog was still able to get into the vet and get his eye evaluated. We called at about 9:00pm and received a call to come in around 1:00am. I think there were 13 people before us. We tried the blue pearl to see if we could get in sooner. The blue pearl actually turned us away and said they would not see us. They said they were busy for the night and they would not take anymore patients. Really!? It’s an emergency facility. Anyway, I’m glad we stuck with the Plainfield emergency vet bc our dog got amazing care there. The doctor did a thorough exam and gave me a detailed report on his eye and some meds to keep him comfortable. Definitely happy with the outcome and the professionalism here. I also want to add that we have used this same vet years ago bc we needed to put down one of our dogs in the middle of the night. They were so compassionate and made the process easier on us. I am very appreciative of their services here and that they are here for our pets.

I can't say enough good things about this animal hospital. Yesterday I had to take my ailing 16-year-old cat Tails there. I was constantly crying because she was so sick I was 99% sure I was going to have to have her put to sleep. They were kind and patient to Tails and I, filling out all the paperwork for me and taking their time explaining everything. While it was still heartbreaking letting little Tails go, their compassion really helped with the process. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

First trip to an emergency vet. Given the circumstances, our experience was very positive. The staff was very caring, explained the process thoroughly & took excellent care of our puppy. She had to spend the night & Dr. Reznik called in the middle of the night with an update. We discussed workup options & she was very supportive of our decision to just stabilize her until we could get her to our regular vet the following day. Hopefully we never need emergency vet services again but if we do, we will definitely return to the Animal Emergency Hospital.
