Everything at Southgate was perfect -from the spotless examination rooms to the friendly staff. The technician and veterinarian carefully listened to my concerns. My cat received excellent care and I was fascinated watching Yoshi stay so calm in the hands of professionals.

My little Teddy has been going here for years. The staff is very nice & very compassionate. This unfortunate visit we had a diagnosis of torn ACLs but the staff took such great care of my fur child, and truly treated us like family. They are only doing curbside now, so you come park and call the front office and they pick up the animal from your car, and bring them back out when done. Payment is done over the phone. Hands down my favorite vet in town.

Staff are always attentive to our pet's needs. They get us in to see our vet as soon as possible. The vetenarians are knowledgeable and compassionate with our pet and explain the issues related to the current illness or injury. Very professional staff.

They are such a caring team at Southpointe. When I had to say good bye to my best friend, Quincy, I couldn't have asked for any better staff to help me with the final moments I spent with him. I can't stress enough how important it is to bring your fur babies in. What started with ? conjunctivitis in his eyes and to be told it's brain cancer, it's such a shock to think he won't be coming home and you could tell the staff could feel your pain. Great place and I would highly recommend.

I love Southgate! I’ve been taking my puppy here since I got him a few months ago. They have always been so friendly and caring with my pup. They are also great and timely about responding to email inquiries when I notice something concerning with my puppy. They do such a wonderful job of keeping my little guy happy and healthy!

I use this awesome feature almost once a week and it never fails to impress me on how great you guys are to help me with my dog and how quickly you respond! They do a good job. The problem I had was they added over $100 for ear treatment without letting us think about it and having other options with over the counter treatment discussed. Very not appreciated when looking into a microscope is 45 dollars. Again, good treatment, just communication lapses.

They are compassionate and listen to your pet concerns. They aren't overly pushy when it comes to treatments that are not urgent which is nice, especially if you don't have the funds at that time. Very friendly staff!

We’re new to the area and our dog started limping. We called Southgate in the morning and they were able to get us in same day. The receptionist staff is amazing, so kind and responsive to all of our questions both over the phone and in person. The vet office is very clean and a friendly environment. Sadly we were diagnosed with an ACL injury but Dr. Machtell and the vet tech Brea were so helpful in explaining everything and answering our questions. Could not recommend this vet more!

We went to Southgate for many years, but switched recently. The vets are good, vet techs are wonderful, but the front desk people are rude. You're bothering them when you call to make an appointment and they don't acknowledge your exist when you walk in. The medication is double the amount it is online and the vet didn't want to write me an RX so I could order it. Not worth my frustration. Gladly driving an extra 10 minutes to a friendly clinic.

They were amazing with me when I had my dog. She passed away in an accident 3 years ago, but I vividly remember how much they helped me when dealing with her death. I have a cat now. He is a HUGE jerk to strangers, but they do their absolute best to make sure my little monster is healthy.

Very kind and efficient staff. Their prices are very reasonable but I love that they take CareCredit so when I had an emergency care needed for my cat I didn't have to worry about paying it all right away. The quality of care for my cat has been phenomenal. They answered all my questions, and they understand that not all cats are the same.

It's a little expensive compared to a couple others in town, but the staff are absolutely great and very accommodating. They love my dog (who wouldn't) and treat her very well. Cassiopeia LOVES going to the vet, so she must be treated like the queen she thinks she is.

I'm completely impressed! I took my cat in as an emergency case. He was seen quickly, examined thoroughly, and I was repeated updated and reassured about his condition. He came home with meds and clear written instructions on his continued care. I received two or three followup calls to monitor his recovery. Everyone there was professional and attentive. I've already recommended them to friends.

They were with me through losing my cat, which was an incredibly difficult day for me. The vet and tech who helped me were very compassionate, went over 3 options with me and stayed with me through everything. I'm very thankful I went to them and will definitely bring my future pets there. A week after losing my cat they sent me a card with his paw print in it which was such a thoughtful, beautiful gesture.

I have been taking my dog here since she was just a pup, the staff and techs and doctors all love animals and that's easy to see. This to me is almost as important as the knowledge of the doctors. To that I've never had a bad experience with any of the doctors here. They have always provided excellent care and have helped resolve a handful of issues over the years like infections and even a major surgery when she was a puppy. Pricing is fair and I am almost ways able to get in same when I have a concern with my pet.

I have been taking my dog to Southgate Veterinary Hospital for three years. They have always been very professional and caring. My dog has been in excellent health so I have not needed any speciality services. However, I did have her teeth cleaned last year and was really impressed by the quality of the service and how caring they were of my dog. Everyone has also treated me very kindly and answered any questions I had about my dog. I am happy with Southgate Vet and continue to take my dog to them each year for her annual check-up!

Amazing place to take your pets. The staff are all very friendly and it is obvious how much they care about every animal and pet owner that comes in. I’ve never had a bad experience here and have been going for years and years with multiple pets, they even seem to somehow remember each pet every time we come in. Overall I HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone to take their pets here. Reasonable prices for OUTSTANDING care. 10/10.

We brought our kitten here for vaccinations, microchip and neuter. The staff were all very gentle and caring toward our baby. All told, it was rather more expensive than we expected. But well worth it. The waiting area and patient rooms were very clean. Appointment times were respected and we received a call as soon as surgery was complete, letting us know that our pet was recovering nicely. A few hours home, if he is in any pain, it doesn't show. We will definitely be back, and our cat will be a long term patient here. Overall a good experience.

I took my elderly dog here several times, and each time the vet's and assistants were very kind, compassionate, and most importantly informative. Prices were good, maybe even typically a little less than what I expected each time up to and including the end. I just had my old man dog put down here, and, though I mourn his loss, I felt obligated to come on here and write a positive review. They were very understanding, explained the process, sympathized with my pain, and were overall exceptional in their work despite the unpleasant circumstance. Definitely 5/5.

I've been going to Southgate vet for years now, since 2006, and I've always been very happy with them. The front desk ladies are friendly and helpful, and the vet care has always been good too. Other than routine checkups and vaccines, my cat was spayed there, and I chose Southgate because they were of the few if not only vets in the area to offer laser surgery, which made her recovery far easier. In all my years and experiences there, I have not once had a problem. They've always seem invested in my animals and treat them with the best care. I'd definitely recommend them.

We've used Southgate since another vet knew they used a laser scalpel to remove a tumor from our golden retriever some 11 years ago, giving her a bit more time...she was 16. The last 10 they have been the medical resource for our Alaskan Malamute. They have an excellent staff & sound veterinary treatment.

I've been bringing my 3 cats here for 6 years and I've never once been disappointed. The staff is always friendly and the veterinarians are skilled and friendly as well. The prices are very reasonable too. Even though we've moved from South Fargo to West Fargo I'll continue my care through here because of how amazing this place is.

Since moving to Fargo we have taken our pets to Southgate. I feel our animals have been treated well. Prices seem to be very high based on veterinary visits from Grand Forks experiences. Possibly more time should be spent on providing options for treatments suggested. I do feel that I get more attention from my doctor than from my veterinary doctor. Wish that should change.

I am so happy with Southgate Vet. I've worked with Dr. Birchum for about 2 years. She is intelligent and a great communicator. I came to Southgate Vet with an problem that my previous vet couldn't solve. It took one appointment at Southgate to find the problem and the solution. We have gone to Southgate Veterinary Hospital for almost 7 years now. Our cat underwent two eye surgeries there and she was handled with care and love. We were very impressed by the staff at Southgate and how they know both our animals each time we visit. We just recently had to put our dear, sweet cat Molly to sleep and their staff was amazing! As hard as it was to put our feline friend of 10 years to sleep, they were so sensitive to our time with her, the room was quiet and caring and we couldn't have asked for a better staff during such a difficult time. We love southgate we have been taking our dogs here for the last 3 years and the staff is always so kind an sweet and they have always made sure my dogs were comfortable, for whatever they were getting done. The only issue we have ran into is that they have a lot of clientele so sometimes when we wish we could get in same day it can happen because they are so busy.

When it became clear to us that our beloved kitty, Princess, was going to pass on from cancer we were able to have more time with her thanks to the incredible palliative care Dr. Talbot and staff provided her. She had many months of comfort and quality family time with us that, we firmly believe, would not have been possible without the very thoughtful and intelligent Dr. Talbot constantly trying to figure out what was best for her and for us. We are so grateful to him and the wonderful support staff at this hospital. We, as her pet family, received the support we needed during a very difficult time. She was well cared for. I took my cat here Roxy for surgery in 2007 services received at that time was absolutely excellent. We recently took our dog (Bear) here in the last month. Our dog was suffering from kidney stones, the person that made Bear's appointment was amazing, our dog means a lot to us, and the pain that he was in was really concerning, the receptionist understood our cares and showed genuine concern in scheduling us as soon as possible and voicing her understanding of our concerns. We received prompt care, we received thorough treatment-- that didn't break the bank, just treatment necessary nothing over the top-- least expensive means of treatment were exercised first. Received treatment outcome directly from veterinarian. Our dog's health was treated with upmost care, questions were answered, and concerns were addressed. Bear is feeling much better thanks to their services. Would highly recommend their services.

Took my dog, Finn, here for a nail trim today. I'm always nervous taking him somewhere new for his nail trim because he HATES getting it done. The receptionists were very helpful and prompt in getting his records from his previous vet. The clinic is very clean and calm in the waiting area. The tech really impressed me with her obvious kindness and patience. She gave me a report once she brought Finn back out to me, she told me he didn't like it very much--which was no surprise--but she did not seem annoyed that he was a difficult patient (which I've experienced at other vets/groomers). Haven't had any interaction with the doctors yet but overall, we had a great experience!

I had a very old "senior" cat who passed away at 24yrs old. He had gone blind about 2 years before that and I took him in to be seen. The tech and Dr. Machtell were so compassionate and helped me to know how to take care of a blind cat. My cat had such a strong will to live and be with his family. When he did start to go into heart failure, we took him in to be put to sleep. The staff was SO wonderful and compassionate and cared not just for my cat, but me also. Since then I have a new cat who is a hunter and they have helped me deal with having my first indoor/outdoor cat. They really CARE about me AND my animals!! I am SO glad I found them! - Jeannine
