My giant boy managed to break his toenail all the way up the quick while running at daycare. One look was all it took to see that it wasn’t something that would be kind to try to clip/treat without some sedation. When I established with my current vet, she recommended this clinic for after hours and other emergencies. I’m so glad she did. We were taken in immediately for triage. The open concept was explained to me and a private space was offered, but we were fine hanging out in the main room and seeing everything that was going on. The staff was extremely kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Even the people not directly involved in my big guy’s care stopped to offer much appreciated pets and affection…when they were not directly involved with another animal’s care, of course. Everyone was very professional and courteous. The whole process was very transparent with excellent communication.

I cannot say enough good things about VEG Denver. When my Newfoundland suddenly started crying out in pain one morning, I suspected it had something to do with his neck but I had no idea what. I tried calling his primary vet and they told me they wouldn’t be able to see him until the following Tuesday (this was on a Thursday). My friend looked up nearby emergency clinics and I had no idea how well she’d chosen until I met the staff at VEG. From the moment we got there until we left, I was never separated from my dog. When he underwent x-rays, there was a window I could watch through to reassure myself that he was okay. He was loved on and coddled by people who clearly have a passion for what they are doing, and I never once doubted that he was exactly where he should be to feel better. Not only did they explain every single test result in detail, but they followed up with me regularly and the doctors remained available for me to call with questions 24/7. When a similar incident occurred a month later, I called his primary vet once again and NEVER received a call back. This time my dog didn’t have to spend an extra second in pain because I called VEG immediately after. Not only did they remember my dog, but they expressed genuine concern over the phone and encouraged me to bring him right in. The energy in this clinic is healing. It makes a huge difference when the people who are working somewhere genuinely care about the patients that they treat. If I could put up a billboard telling everyone to go here, I would. They’ve given me peace of mind and helped me when I was absolutely hysterical and terrified that my dog wouldn’t be okay. I can honestly say I’ll never go anywhere else.

We took our bunny here immediately when we noticed his behavior was off. Our normal vet is 30 minutes away and would close in an hour, despite them being able to fit us in we chose VEG because we live a few blocks away. And I was so glad we did. Not only were they able to get us in immediately and work with small animals, but they were so responsive and communicative about what was happening. Nobody ever wants to be at an emergency vet, but we had a say in what services were done and had all pricing up front. I understand why the open concept might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I felt it really made the experience feel more welcoming and communal. We even had some techs who were able to stand with us and talk to help ease anxiety. We were offered water, snacks and chairs to feel comfortable. The doctor consulted a team of professionals through their system to get opinions on best care and possible reasons for his condition- it really felt they did everything possible that was available. We had to make the difficult choice to put our little guy down, bunnies are very fragile, and we were brought to our own room for privacy. I wasn’t going to write a review, because I don’t ever do, but today we received a letter in the mail from the whole team personally wishing us well. It was such a kind and thoughtful gesture that showed how truly caring and thoughtful their team is. Thank you thank you thank you. Long live Tony!! King of New York!! I hope you don’t, but in the case that you need an emergency veterinarian, I cannot recommend VEG enough.

My Great Pyrenees had extreme GI upset and his primary care recommended overnight care and stabilization for Buddy. Buddy and I headed over to VEG and he was seen in a timely manner and admitted. I love how I could see everything that was being done within reasonable distance. They treated him with such care and as if he was one of their own. Buddy spent about 15 hours in their care. He is back home and doing leaps and bounds better! Can’t thank VEG and their team/staff enough!

Absolutely blown away by the care, attention, and kindness of this Vet clinic. Our golden was attacked by another dog, and we had to come here at midnight. We were welcomed, immediately looked at, and offered a comfy couch and free snacks and drinks. Dr. Voss was insanely busy and still made time to greet us and our dog, and was able to treat, diagnose and get us prescriptions efficiently. She was very knowledgeable and kind. Every single staff member (Michael Matthews & Hailey being two of them) was kind, helpful, and offered us help if / when we needed it. They even allowed us to sit in the main room to feel more at peace. We saw each and every staff member caring for and loving on every dog in this clinic. I’ve never been to a better vet office. They also had a security guard watching out for us and walked us to our car. Blown away. If your dog is in need of an emergency vet, take them here; this is where they will get taken care of.

I never in my life expected to find such a welcoming and caring place to take my dog. My dog means the world to me, and to be able to stay beside him throughout all his tests and time in their care meant the world to both of us. They treated us like family the entire time and I knew he was in great hands. I’m beyond thankful to have found this gem in the animal care world. Everyone who works there is absolutely incredible and you can tell they all genuinely love and care about animals. I wish they had a normal vet practice so I could always take my dog to them! I wish I remembered all of their names because they all deserve praise! Also - the only low reviews this place gets is regarding pricing. I had my sister who is a vet elsewhere review all of the invoicing I received and she was shocked that I wasn’t charged MORE. This is emergency care. They see their patients immediately and the charges for that are reflected accordingly. This place is truly incredible and I would go back in a heartbeat.

Never have I been so blown away by an experience! My puppers decided to make a meal out of a toy and we needed to have it removed. We ended up staying there with our pup for 6 hours overnight. The staff was amazing! From compassion to thoughtfulness to cohesive teamwork. This place has it all. Your babies are in safe hands here and quite frankly the owners are too. Thank you for being amazing!

I have had nothing but great experiences with the staff here despite being there at some of the worst moments. My first time at VEG was August of 2022 - my dog was going through something no one could figure out. But my gosh the doctors and nurses here worked all night searching for answers consulting CSU veterinarians on call that evening. They treated me and my dog with such compassion and care. I was able to be with him through everything and be as involved in all his procedures as I was comfortable with. Unfortunately he did pass away the next morning. They accommodated me in every way possible from giving requested medications to setting us up outside for the euthanasia since my pup loved the sun. Even though this time was excruciating I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. They even sent me a condolences card signed by all the staff who we became so close to. My next visit was just 2 days ago with my new puppy. It only made sense for me to take him to VEG when I became extremely concerned at 1:30am. They reassured me and provided prompt, compassionate care. I can’t recommend this place enough when you and your pet are going through such a scary and uncertain situation!

We had an emergency with our 18 month old Havanese pup on a Sunday. We went to the closest 24 hour vet but had a four hour wait so went to VEG. They were amazing. We were able to stay with our pup the entire time we were there and while he was examined. Everyone on the staff was professional and extremely helpful, patient and understanding about our concern for our little guy. We were so impressed. Got great service and appropriate care. He is doing great three days later. We will go back there if needed in the future.

The approach to emergency care is revolutionary and absolutely the best I have ever had in 30 years as a pet owner. Everything about the process changes my expectations about emergency care. The moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with care. A doctor saw my 17 year old girl quickly and she sat on the floor with her. It helped keep my elderly baby calm (and me calm!). I was able to be a part of every step, was well informed, and felt so cared for. I hope that the rate of care and standard of care always stays this amazing!!!

Drove up here from Parker on 1/2/2022 and 1/3/2022 since my senior cat was not doing good. They were the only place I called that seemed to care and were very good with communication. They were very busy of course but that did not stop them from helping and getting my little buddy back on the mend and helping take care of him. They took care of a lot of people and showed nothing but respect and care for all the customers. The wait can be long as the juggle triage and case severity but they definitely do a lot and care for all the animals. Very appreciative of all their help and clear communication in a difficult time. My buddy is on the mend and hopefully we have many more years of kitty cuddles ahead.

I found a kitten in my back yard that was about 8 weeks old. She was very sick and I wasn’t sure she would make it through the night, she was skin and bones literally. My mistake I took her to the VCA The vet came to take a look at her set her on the ground and shoved her a couple times and Said she was fine. Apparently they only see Injured animals here. I told him I thought she has really bad worms because I could see them around her rectum he said to give her a bath and clean it up so that’s what I did. I stayed up with her all night. The next day I was referred to veterinarian emergency group. They got her right back and what I thought was worms were actually maggots. They did everything they could but unfortunately due to her having to wait to long she passed away. I recommend veterinary emergency group to anyone who needs emergency care or otherwise, they were great people and didn’t even charge us because she was a stray. This place was phenomenal and I will never take another animal vca emergency again for care! Beware everyone! She didn’t deserve this! Rest I. Peace Jupiter! 🌈💜

VEG is a place you hope you never have to go but I would never hesitate to go if my dog needed after hours care or care my vet could not provide. The care they give to the animals and their human companions is unparalleled. They make a scary situation better with their top notch care and bedside manner for animals and humans alike. My dog was bit and they were so transparent and clear about the care plan, made sure we were comfortable with the plan at every step of the way, and we never had to leave our little dog’s side. I would never considering going somewhere else with an animal emergency, big or small.

I rushed my pup in to VEG at around 2 in the morning. They did everything to make her feel comfortable and calm her down. I saw them moving the bench out of a room and bringing in a mattress pillows and blankets. I didn’t think anything of it. Eventually they told me they’d like me to rest in there and try to get some sleep with my pup beside me so she could try and rest too. They are seriously the most thoughtful, knowledgeable, and hospitable vets that I have ever worked with. They made me feel heard and was taken very seriously. They took great care of my pup as well. They worked with me on cost so that my girl would still get the high quality care she needed. Highly recommend.

I’m so glad I brought my fur baby into VEG. Everyone was so transparent with me from treatment to price. Every single staff member met me with compassion and these people genuinely care about our fur babies. I have never left Sylvie anywhere overnight before so I was really nervous. I was up at 3am, couldn’t sleep and drove over to be with Sylvie. They set me up with a clean bed and a private room so I could be with my baby. I’m so grateful I live so close but I would travel any distance to get sylvie the care that VEG provided. Top of the line. Thank you VEG for taking such good care of us!

This was my first dog emergency visit and I was very scared and stressed. The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. This calmed me down a lot and the overall experience was quick and very through. Dr. Voss was great at explaining everything she was doing and how to care for my dog when we got home.

This place will always be my go-to for emergencies. Everyone here is so friendly, personable and truly care about your pet. My pug, Kevin, loves to sneakily inhale hair and mulch every chance he gets. He suddenly started violently throwing up and having diarrhea. VEG ran all the appropriate tests (not an easy process to identify doggy illnesses) and explained why each test needed to be done. To my absolute shock, Kevin didn’t have a blockage and we were able to treat him and he’s on the mend! Nothing was done unnecessarily, and we were so well cared for here. From the receptionists, the givers of shots (the true hero’s who had to pin Kevin down), and the doctors, we had such a good experience through a very stressful time. I can’t thank everyone enough. Last but not least, I would like to thank Kevin for the emergency room visits, he just loves spending my money and without him I guess this review wouldn’t exist. Cool cool cool.

My dog Mister had been silently suffering from a nasty yeast ear infection and the staff at VEG gave him a thorough examination. Their staff was knowledgeable and the open concept care made it comforting to me as the owner. I was able to be with Mister every step of the way. After doing examining a sample from each ear, they concluded only one was infected and did a deep clean with a drying agent and sent us on our way with daily ear drop medication. I am thankful for the great experience yesterday at VEG.

It is with heavy, but grateful hearts that we write this review. This month, our cat (and the love of our lives) Baker, passed away due to extenuating medical complications. Although there was nothing more that could have been done at the time, she received the BEST urgent care at VEG - Colfax. The entire team's genuine empathy, concern, and quick care for Baker kept her calm and out of pain during her final hours. The team also personally cared for my partner and I as the vet, Dr. Kelly Voss, spent hours trying match Baker with a blood transfusion and finalize a same-day transfer. They even got us hot cup of coffees and blankets when the room became cold. The thorough care and kindness we received here will never be forgotten. We hope you can also remember Baker (aka Bubba Chicken) during the best time in her life, fat belly and all, with these photos. Thank you for everything, Ashley, John, and our pup Sancho

VEG was so incredible. They cuddled our dog, and treated him like their own. Everyone was so kind and provided above and beyond support for us and our pup. Cat and Rachel were extra sweet, sending us texts, pics of our dog, and even taking a Polaroid of us with our dog to keep at his crate when he was on a 24 hour hold. Cat gave him the cutest dinner when we arrived, displaying his food bowl with a toy on a platter! (5 star pup restaurant). When his time came faster than expected, Audrey helped us with the hardest decision of our lives. She let us spend as much time as we needed saying our goodbyes. She was sensitive and kind, and helped us in our goodbye by getting our pup a custard and burger from the goodtimes next door. We know our dog was in the best hands possible, and we really can’t thank the VEG team enough. We know he was able to be comfortable with your help, and that has been the most comforting thing in the world to us. Thank you, VEG.

great friendly team. we’ve been there a few different times with our dogs and each time they are very well cared for. Our dog had a few issues and we were seen right away when we arrived. They let us watch everything to see what they’re doing and how they’re treating our dog. we ended up spending quite a bit of money but it’s all good because our dog is back to health and we couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend this location

Unfortunately I tested positive for Covid on the same day my dog was diagnosed with a pneumonia. My dog had to be admitted to the ER for over 24 hours. He was on oxygen and IV antibiotics along with other IV fluids. It was such a stressful time and VEG made me feel confident that my dog was in good hands. He is already nervous around new people, I frequently called to check up on him (probably got annoying), and the staff always gave me a positive and proactive update on his condition. They even sent me a picture of him in the hospital to ease my mind. Thank you VEG for taking such good care of my best friend when I couldn’t be there. I truly appreciate all the hard work and care they put into working with me and my dog.

I had a wonderful experience at the Veterinary Emergency Group! I initially called the night prior to my visit and was quickly connected to a doctor. We spoke for around 15 minutes about my dog's seizures; she answered all of my questions and urged me to visit. To my error, I decided to wait. Princess had another seizure early the next morning. Upon arrival, we were welcomed and seen to expeditiously. After discussing treatment plan options, the initial price estimate came in too high for my price range. Dr. Matthews, the receptionists and I worked together to come to a more reasonable treatment plan. I feel confident that Princess received the best care for for the best price. I had a great experience getting my dog treated here. Everyone was very friendly and we’re able to get me in quickly. I was able to be with my dog and watch the procedure. Dr Heinrich did an amazing job and the Shelby and Gwen were great nurses! I would highly recommend this place.

I noticed my sweet girls mouth had a little swelling, but over the course of another hour her whole face was extremely swollen. 11pm and I knew she needed to be seen ASAP. VEG took her straight in, answered all my questions and took the best care of my little lady 💕 I was able to stay with her the whole time and she just fell in love with the staff, even cuddling in their lap while she got a shot. Thank you VEG! 100% recommend!

Wow.. I only have good things about my visit. My dog, Vin had a stick lodged in his throat and it splintered in the front of his throat. I called and to my surprise they answered the phone but they were so professional and very nice, they got us checked in and set up. When I arrived, they got us a room very quickly and a tech came in to get some vitals. She was so so nice and cracked jokes with us. I’ve been to ER vets many times before, and never have I ever had a normal conversation with a tech or a vet because they’re usually extremely stressed or super busy (makes total sense it’s emergencies) but I could tell everyone really truly cared about my dogs care. They also didn’t separate us, which I thought was crazy! My best friend was with me and she was just as shocked as I was. I could go on and on about it, but this place is the absolute best. 10/10 best vet visit ever 😅 Photo of Vin having the best time ever with his nurses!

When all the other vets would not take in my dog when she was sick, VEC was able to get us in immediately. This place was able to care for Athena right away and gave her great care. They were able to see her and get a diagnosis within about 20min. Everyone was friendly and showed a lot of compassion for my dog and the others there. Highly recommend this place.

I am so unbelievably grateful for VEG and all of its staff!! We knew our dog Oliver was in pain, but had no idea how serious the situation was. Oliver had an emergency splenectomy followed by 2 nights of post-op care. We had been turned away by 3 other emergency vet clinics before VEG took us in. They were backed up and not sure they would be able to perform the surgery, but when I told them this was the 4th place we'd been to, they immediately said they would make it work no matter what. The whole experience would have been much more traumatic had we not been at VEG. We were able to stay with Oliver the entire time they were initially assessing him, we watched his surgery, and visited him numerous times while he was in post-op care. VEG makes every effort to keep you with your pet. Not only were they incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, but their level of care and compassion is unmatched. Their transparency around costs is refreshing. A special shout out to Dr. Pannone who performed the surgery and literally saved my dog's life. Besides Dr. Pannone we worked with Dr. Defrancesco, Dr. Heirich, Lana, David, Summer and Nicole. All of them were amazing! You could tell they truly cared about how Oliver was feeling. The kindness of the entire staff shined through no matter how busy the facility was or what they had going on. I am so thankful to have Oliver back home and for this wonderful group of people.

My dog went for an emergency. They were so caring and compassionate for the pets and their people. I hope we never have need for them, but should another emergency arise, this is where I will take my best friend. They take care of everything on site, and they talk to you, explain everything that is going on. If your best friend needs emergency care, this is the best place to go. Shiloh and I thank you.

When the first ER we went to turned us away because they were too busy, VEG welcomed us in immediately for care. My dog was extremely scared, anxious, and shrieking, and they did everything they could to calm him down so he could be treated. Everyone on staff was amazing and so patient with my difficult and stressed dog. We would definitely recommend VEG.

All I can say is wowww! Even though my pup Odin wasn’t the sickest animal there we were treated just as important as any of the other patients! I’ve never received this great of care at any veterinary facility especially at a busy emergency vet clinic at that! We were met with smiles and kindness from the second we stepped into reception, to meeting the techs and doctor to checking out! The staff constantly checked in on us and made sure we were comfortable and that Odin was still doing okay! We were registered, cared for and all set within an hour and a half! Which if you ever took your pet to the ER it’s typically hours spent before your even seen by a Dr! I am not sure what secrete system this ER has figured out but they should tell all the secretes to not only the other ER Vets but also spread the world to general healthcare facilities as well! They are absolutely rocking it!

We’ve been here two or three times now and I am obsessed with this place. If I could give them 6 stars I would. It’s always so scary not knowing what’s going on with your pup and they do an amazing job of communicating and keeping you comfortable and at ease. There were several times while we were waiting for X-rays someone came by to offer me a drink or snack. Like, what?! So kind. I have been in the back room several times when a patient’s dog had to be put down, and watching the way they treated those people on one of the worst days of their lives was absolutely incredible. These guys are so amazing, I actually prefer them to my normal vet! Cannot recommend them enough.

This place is amazing! In the late evening we noticed our Pug's face was swelling quickly and hives on her sides. We needed a Vet right away. We called 3 nearby after hour Vet's but they either had no Dr. or had a wait time of 4 hours. We called the Veterinary Emergency Group and they put the Dr. on the phone with me! We took her in and though they were busy, their processing was well planned. Saw the Dr. and Tech's immediately, they solved the issue very quickly with us always present and communicated to us the whole time.

Could not recommend enough. My little 40lb Collie got spayed 2 days ago and ended up getting an infection under the skin at the surgery site. Her wound looked like it had opened and I was freaking out. When I called, the staff answered promptly and had me send them a picture to which they showed to the doctor to advise us if she needed to come in. Ultimately they had to open the stitches clean out the infection and close her back up. They allowed us to be with her the entire time while walking us through everything that was happening. The staff was out of this world amazing going above and beyond any expectation. The stitches look a million times better than when we brought her home from the original surgery. She is back home and recovering. I can not thank them enough.

I would give 6 stars if it could! Tilly had to stay at the VEG for 48 hours and as scary as that was, I knew he was in incredible hands. I was sitting my son's cat when she ate 2 pieces of her toy. I was able to call and speak with a doctor that recommended I to come in. From the moment we walked in I felt as though my concerns were addressed with urgency and compassion. Everyone from the front office to the back office staff was amazing and knowledgeable. This is the 2nd time Pebbles has gotten herself into a bit of a pickle and I’ve taken her to VEG. I simply could not be more impressed either time with the care, the staff, the cleanliness, and friendliness of everyone there. There is literally not a single negative comment I can make. If you think you’re in need of emergency services for your pet, this is the place you want to go to. I brought in my English bulldog a few weeks back because she had broken out in hives all over her body. I kept going back-and-forth whether I should just wait until the morning to call my regular vet but I’m glad I didn’t. My dog had broken out so badly that her system could’ve shut down and I didn’t know that until I arrived at this clinic. I was treated immediately with kindness and a sense of urgency. I was not grossly overcharged for the services and the medication that we received. Dr. Debrincat and her team were so knowledgeable that I felt safe and informed the whole time. Thank for you for taking such good care of both me and my pup!

My coonhound Ricky Bobby ate a baby toy. 4 days later when it still hadn’t passed or come up he was starting to get very sick. It took several different vets before I found a place that could see him that night. VEG wasted no time in taking him into triage, getting him X Rays, and diagnosing a blockage in his intestines. Just over an hour later they were operating and removing the foreign objects that were blocking his digestive and had him in recovery within 6 hours of me first checking him in. I would like to point out to anyone looking that up front they will seem very expensive, they quote you the worst case scenario and bill you as such, then refund you for all the potential treatments they did not do. I cannot express enough, the fantastic and personal care that my dog got. I would highly suggest VEG for emergency vet visits. My husband and I can't say enough good about VEG Denver at Colfax. Dr. Voss and the team took such good care of our Zeke, 75 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback/Yellow Lab mix. We had a fun ski tour near Berthoud Pass, and sadly as he was bounding downhill on the trail behind us, his back leg caught a ski edge and cut a tendon. Their phone intake on our way there was great, and there was such good TLC as well as follow up so we could connect with a surgeon (they provided a referral list). The team made certain that his cast fit properly and made a number of adjustments for his mobility until surgery. There is a lot of love in this place and the team has it together!

Our 5 month old Aussie Stetson got sick overnight. They were able to get me in for an emergency visit first thing in the morning. Great care and counsel. Affordable for being an emergency. Nicole the Vet Tech was great. Dr. Sotiropoulos was able to diagnose the issue and get the meds necessary for his recovery. He is doing great now. IF YOU ARE IN A VET ER SITUATION THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! 2 weeks ago, Lily was struck by a (hit and run) driver. We rushed her to the closest ER, which happened to be VEG. Right away, Vet Asst (and about to be a V Tech) Sophie (I think that was her name, she was the best!) and Dr. Liv were on it. Lily had a hole in her lung and she was struggling because her chest cavity was full of air. She made it through the night, and Drs. Vrill (I hope I got that right) and Elena and VT Sam were amazing, personal, and SUPER attentive on her continued care. Monday morning, it didn't look good and the whole team (shout out to Dr Elena here) were incredible in their compassion in a VERY difficult time. They helped us find a place (Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital) that could help. And they managed the emotions of a loved one and cost perfectly and professionally. We transferred Lily to WRAH ICU (see our review there too). HUGE PROPS TO Dr. Strom and the medical transport team - if you have to transport a seriously hurt animal - USE THEM!! - there is no better service. If I could've had Lily transported from my home using her service, I 100% would have done that. Lily spent the week in ICU, responded well to treatment and is home and recovering amazingly fast. Trying to keep her from running around for 2 weeks is the hardest part! In short: on the business side, VEG was transparent, all treatments were explained and options and costs were made very clear. on the care side: I have rarely seen a place where every staff member I encountered has found the right work for them. They clearly care about each patient in a personal and perfectly compassionate way. We have 2 kids and when we were there on the rollercoaster that was 24 hours, they managed everyone (and Lily) with love, care, professionalism and compassion. I can't say enough good things about this place. I hope I never have to use them again, but I am thrilled and comforted to know they are there if I do. My cat wasn’t feeling well. I took her to get emergency care 2 times at VEG over the last 10 days, once at 9pm a week ago and once in the afternoon (for a follow up). They are so kind caring and attentive. They were quick to assess. They had testing on site (blood work, X-ray ((ultrasound if I would have gotten Luna there at the same time as the tech)), and results came quickly too. They were very kind both times asking if I was ok (they’re very empathetic to pet owners (our children) being scared and emotions being high) they seem to triage in order of most medically dire. My cat wasn’t dire but I was worried about waiting for an appointment at her regular vet might make Luna more uncomfortable longer. They gave meds and sent her home with care instructions. When I called to inform that Luna hadn’t improved, they were kind and asked if I wanted to bring Luna in. I ended up bringing her in. Both times vets called Luna and myself by name and we were asked multiple times if we were comfortable and if we needed anything. Luna seems to be better… she’s an old girl… but with the meds I’m optimistic. Thank you so much for caring for my fur-child! I would definitely recommend bringing your pet here in an emergency or need for immediate care.

We have been to VEG twice this week and they were fantastic. They took great care of both me and my dog. You get to stay with your animal the whole time they are there, which made a huge difference. The whole team was kind, warm, and welcoming. You get an itemized invoice before they start, which was incredibly helpful in understanding the cost. I was seen quickly both times. The first time I was there for 4 hours, the second time I was there for 8. But, both times, it always felt like things were moving and I always understood what we were waiting on and what the next steps were. In between visits, I had questions about if I needed to come back, and it was easy to get a hold of the vets and the staff to talk through options. This is hands down the best emergency vet experience I have had.

We’ve been here a few times for my older pup and I am very happy with the care he has received. Most recently my dog had to be hospitalized. Dr Rahim was absolutely amazing. She explained everything to us and worked in a step wise fashion in order to make things most cost effective for us while also looking for the most likely diagnosis first. She was compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. We were able to target what was going on, he was given the appropriate treatment and after about a 24 hour stay, he is at home continuing to recover. Additionally, I was extremely anxious about leaving my sick dog overnight- but Gabby- our tech during the day- and every other vet tech we encountered (I’m sorry I can’t remember names) were wonderful. I also really appreciate that there are no “visiting hours” and we could come and go whenever it was convenient for us, and that we could remain with him whenever possible. A wonderful establishment! They gave my pup the best care. Everyone was so friendly. I loved how we could stay with our dog the entire time. The doctor gave him a light sedation to put in 2 stitches in a small wound and then made sure he had medications so he wouldn’t be uncomfortable. Everyone was extremely caring and put our minds at ease and we highly recommend this emergency vet to anyone.

We were visiting my daughter from California for the Christmas holiday when my fur baby Gucci had an emergency. It was Christmas Eve and I was in a panic worrying that he wouldn’t get the care and attention he needed. My daughter recommended calling Denver VEG because she had such a great experience previously when her fur baby had an emergency. From the moment I called reception I knew Gucci would be in good hands. They answered my question over the phone & said to come on in. They saw us almost immediately and we were able to observe his care every step of the way. Dr. Sotiropoulos and the entire VEG staff were top notch! Everyone was in such good spirits and made sure we were comfortable and informed the entire time. I’m happy to report Gucci is feeling much better and back to doing zoomies. We had a very stress free experience! Everyone working was genuinely excited to see each animal and took very good care of them all. The staff was super quick to greet us, get our hurt dogs’ vitals, give us a solution, and had us on our way within about an hour! Absolutely incredible!! Our dog Darla unfortunately needed stitches and we felt completely comfortable with her in the care of this facility. Also, price was NOT bad! Very affordable and overall awesome place!! VEG made my boyfriend and I feel so at home and cared for. They were very thorough with explaining what they were trying to do to help our senior cat and answering all of our questions. We loved that we were able to be with Molly the entire time as well. It was very comforting. Unfortunately she wasn't going to make it though and they gave us a private room to be with her to say goodbye. The whole process was very hard for us but the entire staff were very considerate and empathetic. They even sent us a really sweet condolences card signed by everyone there that helped. They go above and beyond at VEG and I highly recommend taking any of your fur babies there.

Every employee that stopped by Mr. Kitty's table would give him loves, and I don't think I could have brought him to a better place. We were at VEG yesterday for our elderly cat Mr Bigglesworth. He was having a seizure and although the waiting room was full, they took him right away and got him on some anti seizure meds. It was our first time at this pet hospital and all of the staff were caring and so gentle with Mr Big. After taking us through our options, we ultimately made the decision to end his suffering instead of having him poked and prodded overnight without us. The staff took us in a private room and allowed us all the time and space we needed beforehand. Mr Big was my first and only pet so I’ve never had to go through that before but I don’t think the situation could’ve been any better, given the circumstances. He passed wrapped in his favorite blanket and in our arms. They provided us a paw imprinted clay stone that we will hold onto forever. ❤️ We are so grateful for the experience at VEG and will recommend them to anyone who needs it.

This place was God-sent when i was dealing with my good boy's final moments after a brief battle vs. an aggressive cancer. His primary vet and oncologist were across town in Englewood when he became very ill late at night. My baby had to be rushed last minute to this place that I had driven by earlier that day. They quickly rushed us in and did everything possible to try to stabilize him. All of the nurses and staff were extremely caring, patient, and compassionate towards us. They gave him all the attention he needed and accommodated us with a quiet, comfortable room where we would spend his final hours. They gave me as long as I needed and I got to be with him until his final breath, in the most peaceful and comfortable environment possible. I was able to stay with him a bit longer to say all my goodbyes before he was taken away. I'll never forget the VEG staff and can't thank them enough for helping me get through that most dreaded time in the most compassionate way possible. If you're dealing with the terrible prospect of having to put your best friend down, don't hesitate in bringing them here. I promise you won't find a better place away from home to give them a proper goodbye. :'(

The vet techs, staff, and doctors are all fabulous and super friendly. I brought my dog in with a bloated stomach with potential torsion. She ended up staying the night at the hospital. The doctors kept me informed of her care throughout her entire stay. I love that this animal hospital lets you hang out with your pet instead of rushing you out. The people working at the front desk periodically asked me if I needed anything while I sat with my dog. 10/10 experience. I didn't want to have to come here, but the staff members make you feel at home. Everyone here will take care of your animal as if it were their own.

I can’t recommend this place enough. My cat got sick on a weekend night and there was no where to take him in. Everything got serious so quickly! He had to have his bladder I blocked and a catheter put in. The staff was so supportive in telling me and getting the procedure done perfectly. He had to have surgery elsewhere after and I probably called VEG 100 times with questions and concerns. I eventually called to the point of them just recommending medical boarding for a few days during recovery so my cat and I both could rest. They seem to always have the solution while being so sympathetic. I could go on and on but I am forever grateful for the work they’ve done! You and your let will be in great hands here

The team at VEG were very nice, accommodating and able to take her in that day, even allowing us to be in the back during the procedure. Expect to pay an ER premium but that should be expected.

I should’ve written this review a long time ago…in November 2020 I brought in my geriatric yorkie poo after he was attacked in his side by a much larger dog (resulting in, I later learned, a broken rib). Being injured myself after getting in between the dogs, I had to drop Tripp off so that I could go to the ER and get stitched up and x-rayed (turned out my finger was broken, requiring surgery!). They took him right away and were so calm and comforting, assuring me he’d get all the care he needed even though I couldn’t be there for them to consult. I must’ve called every half hour to check on him, always getting through right away and getting thorough updates. When I was able to get over there to see him, they brought me back and pulled one of their desk chairs up to his “tank,” telling me to stay as long as I wanted. It was clear the way they talked about him that they’d put the same love into his recovery that they would for their own pet. He ended up staying two nights; when he came home he seemed almost totally back to normal, and once the bandage came off you wouldn’t even know he’d been injured. Fast forward to today and, even at nearly 14 years old, he’s the same spunky little guy he was before the attack. When I dropped him at VEG I knew there was a chance I’d never see him again. I still sometimes get teary with gratitude thinking of that day and how the outcome could’ve been so different. I’ve had to bring him back in a few times since for more minor “emergencies” and have had the same positive experience each time. I can’t express how thankful I am to have VEG right around the corner and for all the wonderful people who make it what it is. (Photos show Tripp on the day of the attack then at home a week or so later, just after getting his bandage off, happy as can be.)

Possibly the best experience we’ve ever had at the vet! We took our cat in after she was bitten by a dog. Dr. George Munguia examined and treated her. He was truly one of the best Veterinarians we have ever worked with. He was knowledgeable, calm and his “bedside” manner was excellent. Costs were extremely reasonable, considering it was an emergency, and everyone we met, from the reception, to the treatment room, was amazing. They were able to get our details over the phone while we were on our way in and they were ready to see us when we arrived. I’d recommend this clinic to anyone seeking exceptional animal care.

They were extremely busy on a Saturday afternoon but everyone was so kind and patient. They were understanding of my budget and for how busy they were they diagnosed him pretty quickly. He ended up having to be hospitalized, I was a mess and they were so empathetic. VEG has a come and go policy so open visiting hours so I could visit my baby whenever. Within a few hours of being hospitalized he was feeling much better and they released him. They emailed me very detailed discharge paperwork and answered any questions I had the following day. I highly highly recommend bringing your pets here in an emergency.

My cat Nym had a health scare this past week -- I have issues with anxiety anyway, and was super anxious about Nym being sick. I don't think I've ever felt more cared for at a vet -- everyone was so kind, they were super quick in getting Nym to a table or room both times I went in. Even when waiting for the vet, multiple people came by to make sure we were doing okay, offering tea and coffee, and just to say hi to Nym. Someone even brought me their chair so that I wouldn't have to stand while waiting. For every suggested test, they were awesome about giving a breakdown of cost and helping me work out the best line of action when it came to what I could afford. They were so patient in answering my questions, and even when I called back multiple times over the next few days with more questions, everyone I talked to always took time to help me and never made me feel rushed. This is a group of people who clearly care about animals and humans alike, and I'm deeply appreciative for helping me and Nym through a very stressful few days. This place is absolutely amazing. They took care of my sweet Daisy like she was family. They saved my girls life. She had a very serious infection called pyometra and was knocking on deaths door due to the infection itself and complications due to said infection. They buckled in and did the surgery with belief that the complications were due to the infection itself and they were right. They had an open door policy and allowed me to watch my girl through the entire process and allowed visiting 24/7. My sweet girl is currently recovering and doing very well. They saved my babies life and there isn’t enough thanks in the world.

I love VEG! Everyone is fantastic and the care is exceptional! They cared for our 11month old pup when she was hit by a car and then treated our other 10 month old pup a couple of months later when he had an allergic reaction to something unknown. No matter who we interacted with, they were friendly, loving toward my babies, compassionate, caring, and very knowledgeable. I had to take my 6 year old beloved tippy here the night after thanksgiving due to her vomiting and not feeling well. It was late and emergency veterinary was our only option and they took us in with open arms within minutes of walking through the door. They took great care of tippy and got her back to good health in no time. These doctors and nurses are extremely kind and knowledgeable on what they are doing. Tippy stayed 2 nights here and was given IV’s to hydrate along with antibiotics. We were sent home with meds to continue treating her gallbladder infection. I really appreciated the daily text updates with pictures of her and how she was doing. I’m also very thankful they have scratch pay credit here otherwise there would have been way I would have been able to pay for the services on the spot. Thank you so much Emergency Veterinary Group!

Awesome experience. I have a very spicy older dog, and everyone was great with her. Trust me, she does not make it easy to stay patient 😂. Everyone starting with the security guard at the door were nothing short of amazing. I was able to get right in and go to the back while the tech and vet examined her. They did every procedure they needed to do on her right where I could watch and even help. I always hated it when you take your animal to the vet and they immediately take them to the back where you have no idea what’s going on. This was a completely opposite experience. After all the tests came back the vet came up and showed me all her blood work and explained what all the values meant. I am a very protective dog mom and felt 100% comfortable with them treating my baby! Will definitely be back when my dog needs after hour care.

We took her 11 month old Doberman pincher there this evening and Dr. Melanie Mathew’s and staff was nothing short of amazing. You guys are really good at what you do! This is the place you want to go when your fur family member is ill or in need of immediate medical attention. This is our second time using this group and the experience was exactly like the time years before. Professional, courteous, kind, empathetic and knowledgeable. They really know how to talk to the humans about their family members about what they are doing and more importantly why they are doing what they are doing. I think their strength is their ability to communicate and they are very good at being able to talk to families and to listen as well as elicit and answer questions. Without hesitation I would recommend this emergency vet clinic to anyone who needs such services. This is an emergency clinic, so wait times can vary and I would be willing to wait all day to get the care my dog received when we were there on Christmas Eve.

They keep in great contact & never make you feel uncomfortable, when checking in on your pet. We also received a couple of texts with a picture of the little one. This place is close to being as perfect as an animal emergency room gets. I’ve been here twice now. The staff are warm and friendly. The staff and doc was more than competent. They checked on my dog several times while we waited and they checked in on us, the very afraid nervous pet owners. The doc came out to the waiting room and evaluated my dog as he was in so much pain and it would not have made sense to take him back to the big ER area. The doc was educative, as all the staff were, and compassionate with my dog that was scared and in so much pain. This is a VERY friendly and kind place. I can’t say enough good things about them. We were asked several times was there anything they could do do for us that would make our stay more comfortable. They even have great snacks!

Spent about 16 hours at the Colfax location with my pup a couple of days ago. What an amazing experience from beginning to end. You are allowed to be with your pet at all times and the vets, vet techs, vet nurses, front desk staff are wonderful! So kind and completely transparent about everything they are doing, why and how much. They were super busy and never did we feel as though are experience was less important than others. I learned a lot about what incredible hard work it is to care for significantly sick animals. Would not hesitate to go again in an emergency, hope we never have to. Can not thank them enough!!!!

Brought my female lab in shortly after she had given birth because she was limping. Because of the fear of puppies getting exposed to illness, they suggested over phone to stay in car while she would be treated. All the care was done at the car with the upmost respect for the mother and her pups. The staff all came to see the pups, and I was treated with respect. The tested showed a sprain and low calcium which was treated with meds. I was also called next day to check up on my female. This was second visit here to er clinic and I must say I’ll never go anywhere else in emergency. Staff is professional and caring for animals above all else. Her first visit was for a bee bite on snout. Then she was given steroids and Benadryl which helped her immensely. Thanks again you all rock.

The staff at VEG are so amazing! My cat Major had a very bad situation happen that needed immediate treatment, and everyone at VEG did everything they could to help. Every day when I went to visit him, everyone said how attached they are with him and how much they love him. After a few days, a ton of hours in the biscuit factory, and a few scary events later, my boy is home and is so far doing very good! Everyone treated my baby as if he was their own, and I loved that I was able to be with him when we was being treated. Being able to see what was happening and what was being done to treat him, helped me understand what was actually going on. If you have an emergency with your pet, I highly recommend bringing them here!

We had the BEST experience this morning at VEG. Our sweet 10 week old lab puppy fell off our bed at 5am, and we rushed her to the ER. They immediately got us back - even brought us lattes and everyone gave lulu such sweet care and attention. She ended up not needing X-rays and was walking on her leg just fine so they let us go with no charge - we are so grateful to know veterinary emergency group is there. Jojo, our 21-month-old German shepherd mix, ate three chocolate chip muffins. I called VEG and they said to bring her in right away. She was aggressive and over-protective at first, but the staff was patient and kind, and Jojo eventually warmed up to them and behaved. They were able to get her to vomit up all the chocolate and gave her fluids. By the time she got home, she was back to her old, playful self. My wife and I were both between paychecks at the time and hadn’t budgeted for a vet bill, but the staff helped us get a line of credit to pay for Jojo’s bill at the time of service. The best vet experience we’ve ever had.

Everyone here was so kind and sweet to our injured pup. It’s an emergency vet so you have to wait a little longer than usual, but everyone kept checking in and making us feel welcome and comfortable. We were allowed to go in the back with them to watch the procedures which I think made the whole process comfortable for our dog. They even put a super cute Christmas themed bandage on his paw!

This is by far the best emergency care and care in general I have ever received. My poor baby dislocated her hip and VEG made me feel so much more at ease from the second I walked in. Dr.Price was awesome along with every other staff member I interacted with. VEG is so considerate of both the pet and the owner, you are allowed to be with your pet 100% of the time so there is full transparency with what is going on and they are fair with their pricing. I literally cannot recommend coming here enough if you have an emergency.

First of all I came in all panicked because my dog just ate grapes and it was my first time ever having a dog. We have had her for a week so I was feeling so guilty. None of the drs made me feel bad and they all were saying how good it was that I brought her in! Second of all, I had both my baby boys with me and I had my hands completely full at all times. Every single staff member in there was helping us. Asking if I needed anything. Making them glove balloons, giving them coloring books, snacks, everything we needed. They were helping to keep my puppy calm and giving her so much love and attention that she needed too. Just the nicest staff and helpful crew. I can’t thank them enough. Amazing place. Had to go in on a Sunday after my dog was up all night in pain due to an ear infection. They are super friendly, caring, efficient, patient, calm, etc. The did a wonderful job dealing with my strong German Shepard mix who has fear based aggression and is quite the handful around strangers and is very aggressive towards other dogs and even moved us to a space where we wouldn't be around other dogs. The place is extremely clean and feels calm even though there were other animals getting tended to in the open area. I had to call a few times after she was treated to ask questions and they were always willing to answer any questions and to help out.

Being at this location for almost 15 hours, I was able to see both the day and night shift teams in action, handling a variety of situations, and was incredibly impressed throughout it all. Everyone I spoke to was friendly, helpful, intelligent and showed true empathy for all those who came in-- all of which makes a very stressful experience much easier to handle. The ability to stay with my pet was an amazing benefit that helped keep both myself and my dog calm(er) and everyone I spoke to was willing to take a moment and answer my many questions. I was regularly checked up on to see if I had any concerns or needed anything and was even provided a chair so I could sit by my dog's kennel as he received his IV. For being the most stressful moment of my dog-ownership years, Veterinary Emergency Group was able to provide me comfort and peace-of-mind by keeping me informed so I knew exactly what was happening, how much it could cost and how long it would likely take; all while healing my pup-- and for that I will be forever grateful!

While no one wants to go to an emergency the vet, your staff made us feel welcome and cared for the entire visit and even before we arrived over the phone. The vet went so far as drawing out diagrams to help us understand what was going on with jade. I wish I could remember the girl that "booped" jade's nose, and the ones that complimented her, held her down, took her blood and handed off our meds. Every single person did an amazing job and I hope you all know how appreciated you all are! You let us hold jade and pet her the whole time to comfort her which meant a lot. My pup and I had our second emergency vet visit of the week and everyone at VEG was phenomenal. The actual space can be overwhelming due to the high volume of animals cared for but the small touches like the waiting room amenities, transparency of care/being able to stay with your pet the entire time, and the kindness of the staff made it all go smoothly. As a member of the queer community, I also really appreciated that intake forms asked for the caregiver's pronouns and I felt safe seeing numerous rainbow flags around the lobby.

It's expensive AF, but when you're freaking out there's no better place. Not much privacy in here unless you get lucky with a room, but it's somehow pretty chill in here (open floor concept, there's 4cats and 3dogs in the open area, and their owners.) Keep ending up here because nobody else seems to be open on Sundays, and VCA can't get me in for 72hrs. Even when it's just a little kitty cold, they take you and your concerns seriously.

Dr Myers advised me on what to do back at home and prescribed medication to keep my dog comfortable and heal her. I have been there before, and will choose them again if needed!

Came here early on a Friday for my dog who was vomiting and had bloody stools. I called ahead and the lady who answered the phone was very pleasant. It was a first come, first serve basis. I waited about 1 hour. My dog was examined by Dr DeBrincat who was thorough, explained my options, & answered all my questions. Even tho they were busy, I felt like they took the time to communicate with me. While they were unable to diagnose her with anything, they were able to give me some referrals and next steps and ended up not charging me for the visit which meant a lot. A lot of emergency vets seem to be in it for the $ and not actually care about your pet, but not this place! I highly recommend.

VEG was fantastic! We were terrified when our new pup started acting strange, but the team at VEG took the best care of him and put us at ease (and discharged him after curing his ailments!) For starters, we were given a special room away from other dogs/animals as our pup was too young to have received all his necessary shots (and we’re allowed to stay in that room for multiple hours while they treated our little Hugo). Once there, the team (and in particular, Dr. Lauren Greenfield) was extremely thorough and explained everything to us as it was happening in real time/provided multiple treatment alternatives. Hope we never have to visit an emergency clinic again with our pup, but will definitely return to VEG if we have the need!

It is very difficult to find an emergency clinic that is responsive, providing quality care, and good communication. I was out of town and my pet sitter had to bring my cat here. The staff communicated well and saved my pet from becoming extremely ill. My dog gave me quite a scare last night! Am I a “cry baby”? Yes. However, every single person I interacted with last night were kind, compassionate and patient. I was offered water multiple times, snacks and even a blanket at one point. We were in and out so fast, and the vet took her time to explain everything to me. I never once felt like she wanted to order random tests or labs for money, in fact she suggested holding off on a lot of things! I would 10/10 recommend this place to everyone with an animal. Hopefully we won’t have to be back with the pup to an ER VET for obvious reasons, but if we do end up there again I will feel so assured and confident where to go.

No one wants to be here and it is very scary when you are in a situation where your pet has to make a visit. However, without a doubt, the best care I could have ever asked for. Our 12 year old Rottie Mix couldn't stand and his eyes seemed to be rolling back in his head - we headed to VEG right away and they saw him immediately. They were so caring and kind. They kept him overnight and into the next day. They even sent us a photo of him finally eating with my husbands hat that he left for him on his head. We were lucky and felt so fortunate that our little bud had something that could be treated and we were able to take him home 36 hours after the incident. They even sent all the lab work and incident report to our regular vet. I cannot thank them enough. They really are the best! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Obviously this is somewhere you’d never hope to be, but if you do, you’ll be in the best hands. My experience here was as great as it could be. From the minute we walked in, everyone we encountered was so friendly and knowledgeable. I worked with several different doctors during my cat’s 3 day stay and each was so caring and helpful. Even those who weren’t working with my pet seemed to be up to date with my cat’s progress. The best part is that they are open 24/7 and you are welcome + encouraged to visit your pet whenever and however long you’d like. They even have beanbags and cots if you’ll be there overnight. Couldn’t recommend them more!

Olive (my dog) and I had the best experience possible here. Just got a check up call from Taylor to see how Olive was doing. It was a stressful situation so I can’t remember everyone’s name but Michelle saw I was stressed and asked if she could get me a glass of water, and her kindness helped ease the situation. Our cat was having a medical emergency. Our vet recommended that we call VEG because they'll do a phone consult. We called & explained the symptoms & the vet (Liz Lawrence) said it sounded like an obstruction & told us to come in immediately. We did & she was right. They rushed him back & got him assessed, confirmed he was obstructed & started treatment. These people know their stuff. They're quick, they revised their treatment plan based on our financial constraints & cleared the obstruction... all while we watched. It was so impressive! Best vet I've ever been too were so patient with me been up 3 days with a newborn. Brought me tissues water etc. My chihuahua is deathly ill they listened to all my concerns and provided a treatment I was happy with vs being forced. Will only go to them as everyone else in town has been so cruel mickey more then likely has advanced cancer. They also do care credit and a loan I am so thankful. The team at VEG was so kind and helpful during my emergency visit with my cat. While I first walked in and was a little nervous by the setup- seeing all the patients come in and the medical procedures being done in one open room- it actually ended up putting me at great ease, watching their team work like a well oiled machine, popping around from patient to patient. There were two vets on shift who seemed to collaborate on diagnoses and treatment, which I also appreciated to see, their team definitely cares about the job that they do! I ended up being referred to a specialist for further testing, but one of the vets helped me make calls to schedule the appointment before I left their building. While any 24/7 emergency vet is always going to be more expensive than you’d want, the pricing wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. The facility was clean and the entire team was friendly. I hope to never have to use their services again but if I find myself in a situation like that again I would not hesitate to trust their caring team to tend to my pets needs.

I took my dog to VEG after she got super sick right when we moved to Denver. Everyone was SO kind to both of us. While it was busy and we did wait quite a while to move through the inpatient admission process, VEG is a triage based system, and there was some relief in not being the most dire patient of the day. What really set VEG apart for me was the fact that they allowed me to stay with my dog the entire time she was in the hospital, which I honestly think did wonders both for her recovery and my anxiety. I was with her while she got blood drawn, medications distributed, an IV line put in, and an ultrasound done. I also ended up staying the night with her, and they put me in a separate room with a mattress where she could feel normal and cuddle up with me, something that no vet has ever done before. Once again, everyone was so nice to me and kept checking in and asking if they could do anything to make me more comfortable. The staff are experts at compassionate care, maintained transparency with me, and were very patient with me while I tried to ask follow up questions and make sense of what was going on through my very tired and stressed out brain. Special shout out to Dr. Haake, Dr. Debrincat, Summer, Jessica, and all the techs who helped put me at ease and help my dog recover. The team here saved her life and I am so grateful for all they did to help my best friend get better.

When Murphy started limping pretty severely after my vet's normal hours and I ended up having to look up an emergency vet, I thought the reviews of VEG were too good to be true. I've come to expect mixed reviews for vets as people are very protective of their pet family and can feel they are being overcharged at places like these. Every single staff member from the front desk to the vets to the Xray team were so kind and welcoming, Murphy got checked out before any services were recommended, and the Dr. talked me through options based on what I felt comfortable with. Yes it was an expensive visit, but I was given the autonomy to make the choice to pay for X-Rays or wait it out, and I really appreciated that. I was offered coffee and water throughout while we waited, and the amazing staff even gifted me and Murph a small stuffed cattle dog from the front desk because it looked just like him. So glad that VEG have come to Denver and will go to them whenever I need (which hopefully is not often :) )

These veterinarians were amazing! I was dog sitting, and came home to vomit and piles of white foam all over my apartment. As you can imagine, I was completely panicked. Turned out, poor little guy had a really bad case of kennel cough. I came in, after hours, and everyone was so sweet... and assured me he'd be okay. They were efficient, and reasonably priced. The staff here is really great, especially Dominick. I also like that I can be with my pet the whole time. A visit is $175 plus any other additional fees, so it is pretty expensive. I wasn’t crazy about the vet himself, seemed pretty knowledgeable but felt like he was moving so fast he couldn’t listen. That said the wait was really fast.

I had to take my dog Bear to VEG on a Saturday morning to get a claw removed. The staff was so sweet and helpful, the open concept makes it so that everyone who's working knows your dog and is aware of what's going on, so there's never a moment where your pet isn't getting attention. They give you all the costs upfront, and give you a breakdown of what they think is the most it will cost, and we actually got money back at the end because they didn't have to do as much as they thought. I really appreciated how transparent they were with the cost breakdown, they're not there to make money, they care about your pet. Bear actually had a bad reaction to one of the meds they gave us and when we had to come back, they saw him immediately, fixed the problem, and didn't charge me anything but the cost of new meds. Overall the best experience you could ask for from an emergency vet visit. Just to add, both times we were there I saw employees drop what they were doing on a computer to give attention (take them out of the kennel to cuddle with them) to dogs who were in kennels recovering, just because they whined a little or moved around. I saw them give extra blankets to an older dog just because the dog looked like he might be more comfortable if he had more cushion in one spot in his kennel. These people care when they think no one is watching. It's so hard to leave your pet in a weird place overnight, but it's cool knowing if you leave them here, they're taken care of.

I took my dog into VEG Sunday morning because she woke up with what looked like a pretty nasty eye infection. Even though it was very busy they got her checked in and seen very quickly. They seem to have a very efficient system with lots of staff/doctors on duty working very well together to keep things moving. Dr Nelson ran a few tests on her eye to rule out a foreign body or scratch on her eye and sent us home with eye drops that seemed to work overnight. My dog usually hates going to the vet but she loved Dr Nelson and the whole staff. I will definitely go back to VEG whenever we have an issue after hours or when I can't get my dogs into their regular doctor. Thanks VEG!!

We brought Gizmo our corgi today because he ate a chicken bone and became very sick. When we arrived we were taken to a room promptly and within a few minutes a technician came to see us . Grace and Vicky took very good care of Gizmo . The Doctor explained everything to us all tests and procedures that needed to be done . They checked on us periodically while we waited for Gizmos test . Offered us coffee while we waited .We were able to take Gizmo home with medications and instructions. I still cannot get over how amazing Dr. Lawrence was!! She saw me at probably my very worst state after bringing my cat who had just suffered an intense fall in and Dr. Lawrence somehow managed to explain things rationally to me and make things feel that they were going to be ok. I honestly can't even put into words how much better she and Nicole and Ashley made me, my husband, and my poor kitty feel. Instantly I trusted her and knew she knew what she was doing. There are no words that can truly describe the gratitude I have for VEG! Over the weekend, Saturday night of all nights to need a vet, my 13yr old min pin mix had suffered from something horrific I had never heard of (let alone seen). I immediately googled a 24hr vet and selected the number for VEG Denver. I was able to speak to a vet and send over images of her injury. The following morning I took her in and the ENTIRE staff was amazing! They made sure my dog was comfortable, that I was educated on her injury and meds she was given, as well as any questions I had regarding surgery/treatment she would need. They offered different payment options and I was even educated on Care Credit which can be used for both myself AND my dogs health costs. When sadly my credit wasn’t approved, just as I was about to reach out to my family via phone for help, I was notified that the Dr. and VEG would take care of the cost of our visit. I wanted to cry. I’m on disability due to my MS of 20 yrs and am on a fixed income. I was given resources for low cost clinical care for the surgery she would need. My poor dog had a benign tumor that had prolapsed. I will forever be grateful for VEG and the work they do for ALL animals (we spotted the smallest and cutest mouse I had ever seen that was receiving treatment there at the time), the information I was given, and treatment they gave my baby dog. I would recommend them any day and will be forever grateful for the help they gave to both me and my lil old lady baby!

I truly can't recommend V.E.G enough. As you can imagine, I arrived in an upset/ scatterbrained state as my dog was extremely sick. EVERYONE who works there is kind, swift acting, and immediately put you at ease (Erik, Dr. White, & Brittany to name a few--every single person was amazing I wish I could remember all of their names). V.E.G allows you to participate in every step of the process (holding your dog when they do bloodwork and testing) and allows you unfettered 24/7 access to your pet (you can sleep there!). I took my cat Sherlock here at 11 p.m. on Thanksgiving eve. He had peed a small amount of blood and was straining on the litter box. I called to register and rushed him over immediately. They were able to see him right away and treated me and my cat with compassion and love the entire time. Sherlock ended up staying for two nights because of a urinary blockage. Each step of the process of diagnosing and resolving his issue was communicated to me well, which I know is a difficult task in a busy animal ER in downtown Denver. Sherlock had surgery to remove the blockage, and I got emotional during the sedation process. The techs and doctor (Dr. Lawrence) were kind and sympathetic, and were clearly doing everything they could for him, communicating openly with each other and me. I felt safe bringing my cat here, and I did not feel like a bother, even though I can be kind of overbearing. When I would leave for the night, they called when they said they would in the morning. I was able to be with Sherlock when he woke up from anesthesia, and for every moment I could after. Just before we got home, they sent me his entire care summary, which I read in detail. Their documentation is excellent. Special shout-outs to Mariah, Cheyenne, Jenneth, Dr. Lawrence, and Dr. Morrissey, and all of the doctors, techs, scribes, and staff who took care of my sweet baby. I am so grateful for your love and skills. The only cons of this place are (1) the layout. I could tell that Sherlock was a bit nervous being there because of the noise and commotion of the open-concept layout, where people and pets are all in one room during exams, surgeries, and inpatient stays. They said there is separate, a quiet room for cats, but it was closed because there was a quarantined, infectious cat staying there (which is definitely the right call). And (2) the price. I know emergency veterinary care is expensive, as it should be. I paid approximately $4,600 for VEG to save my cat's life, and I would pay it again if it meant he got the level of care and love he had here. I highly recommend pet insurance for situations exactly like this. I'm grateful that they were able to help him, and he is recovering comfortably at home. Thank you, VEG!

I called frantic and Michael was calming and listened intently. He sent me a link to check in online. When I arrived they accommodated my request to separate my sick and anxious dog from the other dogs. They saw me promptly. Everyone was so compassionate and friendly. Not anything I’ve experienced at any ER vet I had been to before. They took a team approach so the visit didn’t take long in comparison to one’s I’ve had in the past. Through supportive care my Dalmatian is turning the corner within 24 hours. The doctor had amazing bedside manner and was great with my dog. She tuned into my needs and treated in accordance to that starting with the highest priority things and ruling out anything that is least likely in order to save cost. The team member that discussed my payment and the online consent showed so much empathy and kindness as I was tearful about my dog and how much it would all cost to treat her that talking to her calmed me down for the night. She’s a secret whisperer for emotional pup parents. We saw numerous team members. I felt like I met so many people and yet not a single bad interaction with a waiting room full of anxious parents. I never felt the pressure they were under. It inspired me to maintain my compassion as a fellow healthcare professional at a local hospital. Also, it made me feel great to have them in my neighborhood where I just moved this July and to be part of this community. I wish I remembered everyone’s name. The cost is 100% - 200% higher than other emergency rooms around. The doctor was irresponsible, spent a few seconds checking our dog and left a wrong diagnosis. My dog was reactive to lumbar palpation because he didn’t like people to touch his back since he was very young. The doctor didn’t listen or ask, instead left a wrong diagnosis as a backbone problem and rushed to see other dogs make money. We left, took him to another hospital, and figured out the digestion issue. Be aware of their reviews. I literally heard they ask people to leave good reviews to exchange ……

This is my second visit to VEG (first was with another cat) and I totally believe you have the best emergency folks available. I've been to other emergency facilities and they seems so stiff and clinical. VEG is totally different, I like that there is an emphasis on keeping the people with their fur baby as much as possible. I totally believe this reduces that anxiety on the part of the fur baby as well and the person. I like that everything does not happen behind a closed door. On both my visits all of the staff have been so compassionate and caring . My first experience ended up with me having to put my cat to sleep which was very unexpected. In both cases, the staff immediately assessed the urgency of the issue and responded appropriately. I never felt like I cared for my fur baby than the staff did. It's great to know there's such an incredible place to take my babies when something goes wrong. Thanks for making such a great business model. It's very people and pet oriented. Is there someone on the staff you'd like to compliment? They'd appreciate the positive feedback from you! Dr. Haake was incredible and explained everything in a way I could understand and was very patient with my questions. One of the techs was Claire and she was great also. A huge thanks to Dr. White, Dr. Heinrich, Dominick, Sheena, Bri, and Ahhana for saving our dog, Oliver’s life. The folks at VEG are a breed apart from all other animal health care professionals we have experienced. From the moment we arrived on Saturday Dec 24, 2022, Dominick stayed with us and personally cared for Oliver over the next 8 hours making sure he was okay. We started to have some worry when Dominick’s shift was over only to have Sheena take over where he left off. Sheena might just be the sweetest person on the planet. As if this wasn’t enough, we were introduced to Dr. White and Dr. Heinrich. Both of these amazing doctors were so helpful in their approach to getting Oliver through the next few days. We were invited to come to the emergency room and basically camp out next to Oliver night and day. There was no concern about us being in the way. We felt like we were in the living room of a close friend. It was truly an amazing experience that was so special to us. This place is excellent! We tried to call our regular vet for a semi-emergency situation and, after being on hold for 45 minutes, gave up and called another vet who referred us to Veterinary Emergency Group. We got RIGHT IN and were extremely pleased with the service. They examined our dog, diagnosed the problem, prescribed medication and we were on our way in less than an hour. The staff was very professional and helpful and caring. We even received a follow-up phone call the next day. I would definitely go here again.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! This place is absolutely amazing. I took my cat, Rambo, here after a long, sleepless night of trying to deal with another emergency clinic and they were amazing. I took Rambo into ANOTHER emergency clinic around 11:30pm Saturday night and they were uncommunicative and just flat out mean. After spending 4 hours there, they told me he would have to be hospitalized and quoted me $3,000-5,000 for the bill and they wouldn't treat him until I paid the minimum or paid the maximum if I was using any sort of financed payment! (essentially, holding my pet's health hostage) I called VEG, to get a second opinion on what the "other guys" told me was wrong. I spoke with Dr. Nelson and she was so kind and reassuring. She talked me through the whole thing and Rambo wasn't even in their care! Yet.... After finally giving up on the other emergency clinic, I transferred Rambo to VEG. They were immediately responsive, professional, and sensitive! They have a super easy check-in process through text messages and the nurse kept me informed of everything that was happening via text. As soon as they could, they let us into the treatment area to see Rambo. The facility was beautifully clean and they had blankets in all the kennels for the animals. I met with Dr. Marion, who had just taken over for Dr. Nelson for the day shift (yes, it was dawn at this point) and she was just as sweet and sensitive to my wife and I. She told us that not only was the treatment the other clinic recommended unnecessary, but could have done more harm than good! So, instead of my cat spending two days in the hospital with my wife and I spotting a 4 figure bill, we spent $115 with VEG and Rambo is feeling great! Thank you so much again, you can't even imagine how emotional this night was for my wife and I and we will never bring our cat anywhere else.

I have to say on Christmas Eve this group of people were amazing - my story comes out on the positive side but I know for others yesterday was the worst day of their lives. This team of professionals where outstanding on all accounts. They did every thing they could do for each person and their beloved pet …. and made calls when they couldn’t make miracles happen. They went the extra mile on every person in the center… I almost cried three times and not for my own four legged fury friend and companion but on the caring and interaction and time they spent with everyone who walked in the door. i know some people were impatient and wanted to get going but the Veterinarians were handling multiple cases and the support staff as well. Our 20 lbs, 11yr old Shih Tzu ate a large dark chocolate bar. We had called around our area for advice and cost of services. Several places told us it would be 3-5k for ER visit and aftercare. Where at VEG the total was less than 1k. We were provided the contact info for VEG. Once we called, someone answered quickly. They emphasized we should bring our pup in for treatment given he ate a fatal amount compared to his weight. We drove there immediately, they texted us a quick check-in process so they were prepped when we arrived. Upon arrival several people were ready to help us. We quickly met the ER doc and answered some medical history questions. They elected to induce vomiting, provide charcoal paste, and IV fluids. Our vet tech was Amber and we are very happy she helped us. She and the ER Doc Voss made us feel confident our pup would recover fully. Amber did it all and we were with our pup the whole time, that itself speaks volumes. Amber gave us our instructions for after care and was still so compassionate toward our concerns. Maddie was at the front desk and she was very kind and positive. She made us feel welcomed and reassured. They had onsite security that was also very polite, helpful, and personable. Overall it was just an outstanding experience given our situation. Our pup is just 24 hrs since his visit and is doing well. We could not thank the team at VEG enough for the care they gave our pup and hospitality they showed us as concerned parents. Thank you, thank you, thank you.❤️

I have been to this e.r a couple times with my puppos and its been great! Today was just as amazing. We walked in for an ear infection and everyone greeted us. What stood out to me was one of the techs attention to another patient. He was with this other dog making sure he was ok. The best place to take you loving pet to. A few months ago we had an emergency with our kitten who passed away and we took him here. Unfortunately he didn't make it but the whole team was there supporting both Me and My boyfriend. Then just yesterday I had to rush my older cat to the emergency and when they had to break the news to me that his kidney was failing they were there to support me. I told them I couldn't afford his night there so they gave me an alternative which worked for me and my cat. My older cat looked pale and the medication they gave him has him already going back to normal although there is no way to fully fix my babys kidney they still worked with me and sat with me while I cried. They are such loving people and you can see that they take pride in what they do. Roodik was calm throughout the exam he's usually very scared but they gave him much love to make both him and I comfortable. I've been to other vet places but this place cannot be compared to them. On a busy New Year’s Day night, they got me in and saw our cat almost right away. The vet took her time getting to know Sadie, even though they were busy. She was able to tell me she thought is was a UTI without doing testing or taking samples. She gave us meds and a painkiller and said if Sadie wasn’t better in 2 days to bring her back so they could take samples at that time. 2 days later, Sadie is back to her old self. We felt welcomed and safe in the clinic. EVERYONE was wonderful, which calmed us down considerably. We really appreciated the level of concerned attention we received, detailed and well explained information regarding Mokko's condition and necessary treatment. We also liked a lot that we were allowed to be with Mokko all the time, and EVERYONE was walking us through the steps they were taking while treating Mokko almost as we were in training. Again, EVERYONE acted with extreme confidence and performed their tasks with impressive skills. Having Mokko's nails trimmed while he was coming out of anesthesia was a nice, heart warming touch. Not sure if "bedside manners" is a term that is used in veterinary medicine, but the VEG staff were impeccable in that respect. We walked out from the clinic with increased knowledge about our kitty's situation and needs. That was our first veterinary emergency room experience, and I cannot imagine that it could have been better in any way (much, much faster and informative and spot on than any human ER situations I went through). The first thing my wife said when we got back in the car was that as far as the ER visits go, ours was an extremely pleasant one. We would like to thank Dr. Sotiropoulos, her techs Molly and Grace, and all other staff members for their their kindness to us and for their beyond awesome treatment of Mokko.

I can't say enough good about VEG. I had to bring my little guy here because of an infection in his mouth and he was in a lot of pain. From the receptionist to the vet tech to the Dr. ( Dr. Beth) they treated me like family. Very caring and very focused. They gave him pain meds and antibiotics and treated him like he was their own. So happy to have them here. These guys are professional and excellent in their field. Thank you so much VEG for taking such good care of my kiddo. So I'm writing another review on VEG. I had to take my other kiddo in on 12/15/22. He was having severe anxiety, so I thought and had me up from 1:30 am. Took him into VEG at 6 am. Dr. Matthews was the one who worked with him. She took the time to listen to me and was extremely compassionate in what he was going through. The entire staff who I worked with that morning was fantastic. They ran x-rays on him and saw he had some pretty bad arthritis in his back hips. They gave him a pain injection and sent us home with medications. He has been fine ever since. I'm so grateful VEG is in my neighborhood. Thank you for all you do for my kids

I don’t rate often but the staff at Veterinary Emergency Group was Fantastic last night. My boy Debo needed help and they were amazing. Emergency anything sucks but this was about the most pleasant and successful experience I’ve ever experienced! The estimated cost was upfront and they only did what they had to so I was refunded back the extra not used. The entire crew is caring, calm and super professional! Friendly people overall though a front desk girl was a bit of a snot to me when I called in and immediately said something negative about my choices to take care of my pet as if I wasn’t stressed and upset enough. Once you check-in it feels like people work at snails speed. Plan to be there for hours no matter what or when you go. They will also try to do every service under the moon for your problem, many unnecessary, and the up charge on every service and medicine is absurd. The first time I visited a medication I needed was out of stock so they sent me to walgreens pharmacy and the medicine cost $15. I was quoted over $100 for that same medication from veg. Since it was for my pet insurance didn’t apply so that wasnt the reason it is just purely another thing to squeeze money out of you for. I also caught an over charge of $300 and had to argue for days with the front desk about it and ended up being right. My second visit I was very hesitant to go because I was afraid of the bill and unnecessary services that would be offered. But i went in with a plan of what I needed from them and what I could wait for for the regular vet and they respected that completely. While my first visit was disappointing to say the least the second was much better, just be cautious.

It was a great experience! Since Alameda East was booked and had a 6-8 hour wait, we were referred to you. We were glad you were not too far and were able to get in. The 2 hour wait wasn't too bad. Your waiting room was nicely stocked with drinks and snacks. The guard was nice and the people that were waiting to have their pets treated were nice to talk to. I was grateful for Dr. Miller's findings, advice and was super glad she didn't start pushing procedures on us that were unnecessary. I knew what was wrong with my cat and I knew what she needed, no more. She respected that we would get in touch with Dr. Fitzgerald at A.E. during business hours for underlying causes of these recurring infections. I also appreciated that Dr. Miller felt the amoxicillin would do a better job than the injectables Dot got before for her bladder infections. Even though administering them orally is a bit unenjoyable, if it is more effective for Dot then that is what we want. I would definitely come back to this clinic. Thanks for all you do!!!!!! Dr. Miller was fabulous. I also liked the receptionist and the tech who took vitals. Everyone was so nice and helpful to other customers. The guard was a nice man too. I loved it there.

We recently took our puppy to VEG and while he ended up being transferred to a specialty hospital for his condition, I cannot say enough positive things about the care he received at VEG for the 36 hours he stayed there. Dr. McCorkel and Dr. Nezerka were incredible, and our night nurse Rachel R. was outstanding. She went above and beyond to care for our puppy as if he was her own. Truly everyone on staff at VEG was wonderful. Highly recommend taking your pet here in an emergency.

I took my cat here with a condition that I knew would result in euthanizing him. They were compassionate and helpful, saw us immediately, and offered tests to confirm the situation and a private room to spend our last moments together. I did have a misunderstanding about the cost options of cremation. I don't recall this being explained to me at the time or seeing it itemized on a receipt, but if you want to receive your pet's ashes, they have to cremate them separately (vs as a group), which is an additional cost and it comes with some extra touches. At the time, when I was asked if I wanted his ashes, I didn't realize it changed the cost or by how much. This is an emergency room for pets. No one going there is having a good day. I am grateful for the people who have the emotional strength to work there and to provide endless compassion to those who need it. After writing this review, VEG management did reach out to me and were very kind and understanding and cleared things up, so I have edited my original review to better explain the situation.

Everyone who works there is so sweet and kind. We felt that they really listened to our concerns and we were even seen right away. Dr chelsie price diagnosed what was wrong with our kitty and after getting home and looking up inflammatory bowel disease I saw our cat had almost all of the symptoms. It was reasonably priced for an emergency hospital and they didn’t push us to do any tests we’re weren’t comfortable with. Thank you Dr chelsie price and the rest of the staff! I’ve said it once and i’ll say it again. If your pet is having an emergency, this is the place to go. My poor Lemon feel out of a tree and ripped out his nail, tooth and has a giant scab on his head. I was checked in and taken to a room almost immediately when i walked in. There was a little wait time and every 2 minutes or so a tech would come in to check on us and love on my boy. When he was able to be seen by a doctor, they came up with a plan to help him almost immediately and were very cost- conscious. I was able to sit down and chat with other pet parents after while i was waiting for Lemons medications and everyone seemed really happy to be with their pet the entire time. I had an amazing experience and my Lemon is at home ( hiding under the bed upset of course) and he is finally sleeping knowing that he will be okay. Thank you VEG!

Can’t say how great our experience was. My partner and I brought our cat in for a suspect urinary blockage this afternoon. We had the expectation that we’d probably need to wait at 45 min before anyone was available (as you might expect at other vets), but we’re really surprised to be taken in immediately after walking through the door. We were given an estimate of the anticipated costs up front after describing the issue and discussing treatment options. I wouldn’t say it was cheap (it’s an emergency vet), but the costs were much less than anticipated. Even though the issue was much smaller than we thought and our cat was a huge grump, we felt taken care of and listened to. The next time there is an emergency, we will be back.

Grayson our diabetic cat went into insulin shock & after racing him to our primary vet he was transferred to the ER where doctors & nurses working diligently to bring him back. We brought my dog in after she was hit by a car and injured. The staff got us in quickly and were so attentive and accommodating. Dr. Hensley and the whole staff did a fantastic job with taking care of my pup and making sure everything was explained and answering our questions. We are so appreciative of the care that VEG provided, and how easy they made the whole process. They definitely helped relieve a lot of stress and worry my boyfriend and I had after seeing our pup so hurt. Our pup Shelbi was looking 100% times better after we came back to pick her up from getting a splint and some stitches. The staff even put the cutest stickers to decorate her splint. Can't recommend this place enough!

These vets made me want to become a vet. They even sent us home with a super cute photo of our doggo. I was so scared for my pup and this team was so kind, and didn’t make me feel guilted or shamed into treatment like a lot of emergency veterinarians do. They actually dissuaded me from some testing that I requested. They said they would run the tests if I wanted them to but laid out why I should go see a specialist instead of paying to get the tests done there. They said the results wouldn’t be conclusive at their clinic and I should go see an oncologist — which saved me a lot of money and the oncologist they referred me to said that they were smart to not run the tests I requested. It’s sucks because I’m so excited to go back to VEG, but also hope I never have to. 💕

This place is AMAZING! Definitely different from any other animal hospital I’ve taken my shih tzu to. This facility allows you to stay with your pet the ENTIRE duration of time he’s there. I had to take my 4 year old shih tzu “Guapo” to VEG at around 11pm, I gave them a phone call ahead of time as this facility is pretty far from me to make sure there was availability to bring my dog in before making the drive. When I arrived, someone opened the door for us and took us back right away. Mind you, this was at 11pm and they weren’t terribly busy so they helped us quickly. They were very thorough and told me every detail of what to expect during our visit. Staff was absolutely amazing to Guapo and treated him as their own, which said a lot to me right away I was super impressed with how good they were with him. Unfortunately my dog’s prognosis was not good without treatment they recommended, and finances were short. I felt my whole world crashing down as I felt my FOUR year old dog didn’t have much time left and I didn't have the finances to support him. But luckily we qualified for donations and was able to get help despite my financial issues. Dr. Debrincat was Guapo’s doctor and she was phenomenal. She helped me get treatment for Guapo and performed an endoscopy on my dog in about 10-15 mins and I got to watch the whole thing. She was super thorough and informative. Any questions I had she always had an answer with no doubt in her mind! Other staff also told me that Dr. Debrincat is an amazing dr. and my dog was in good hands. And they were absolutely correct! I’m super grateful I brought my dog to VEG as I feel that he would not have made it if I didn’t bring him. I brought him to Northside Emergency Clinic in Westminster which they kind of shrugged the issue my dog was going thru. Luckily, with my dog-mom instincts I knew I had to get a second opinion elsewhere. And i’m so glad I found VEG. I would recommend this facility to any dog/animal owner and this facility will be top of my list if I ever need to bring any of my fur babies to a hospital (god forbid!) thank you so much VEG, supporting staff and Dr. Debrincat for helping my baby and for the amazing experience. I cannot express the gratefulness I feel as Guapo holds a VERY special place in my heart. Thanks to them my dog is home, alive and a lot happier. 10/10 experience!

Good place for initial help and for life threatening care. But be warned... of high pressure to decide on care services... That you may be able to defer. i was pressured on last visit for care by the radiologist with expert knowledge to have immediate emergency surgery on my cat for a intestinal blockage. They wanted $6-7k that's outrageous. I waited to get a second opinion. Found Dumb Friends League Vetinary Hospital at CDU SPUR. They charge $800 for same surgery and do this regularly. They did x-rays and saw the blockage moved from small intestine to colon. No surgery needed. Cat pooped out the rubber band that day.

I am SO grateful for the Veterinary Emergency Group! As a dog mom who's had pups for almost all of my life, I've been to my fair share of ER vets over the years for everything ranging from an anti-histamine shot for a bee sting reaction to major surgery for a cryptorchid testicle, and my experience at VEG was *hands down* the best experience I've had at an ER vet. The difference here is that they let you stay with your pet for as long as you want and allow you to be there for everything (excluding surgery, I imagine...) and that really makes all the difference in the quality of care, in my opinion. For this visit, I came in because my dog had a terrible non-stop cough that was causing her to regurgitate bile and my primary vet was booked for the day and couldn't get us in, so off to the ER we went. All of the Dr's that we saw here over the 30 hours my dog was admitted were awesome; from Dr. Nelson who was amazing with examining my pup and really advocating for her when she was initially concerned that she had an esophageal obstruction, to Dr. Pannone who took over my pup's care when Dr. Nelson's shift ended, to Dr. Meyer who was on my pup's overnight rotation and finally figured out with a 2nd set of radiographs that there was a bit of pneumonia in her lungs; they all went the extra mile with making sure that my pup received the very best care. All of the other staff were amazingly delightful and sweet as well with check-ins to see if I needed any blankets to sit on while I hung out with my pup (I was there for 8 of the 30 hours) or coffee/snacks to make sure I was comfortable, too. I hope I don't need an ER vet again in the near future, but I know that the next time I have an emergency situation pop up, this will be the only place I take my pup. Thanks so much for everything, VEG!! I'm so incredibly grateful that my baby Clementine is feeling better!

We are so thankful to the team at VEG! Last week, our boy Ollie came down with a bad cough. We took him to another emergency vet who gave him medication and he had a terrible reaction. We took him back to the same vet after he was continuously vomiting and they gave him more medication and didn't follow up with us. After an afternoon of continuous vomiting, we could tell something was just not right. We got a second opinion with VEG and they told us to bring him in. Having a sick pup is a scary and stressful experience but the vets (Dr. Meyer and Dr. Pannone) were so attentive to Ollie and really went the extra mile making sure that he got the proper care. He stayed overnight to be monitored. The staff texted us pictures and each time we called to check in we were able to speak to someone right away who gave us detailed updates about his condition and test results. It's really a terrible feeling to leave a sick pet in an unfamiliar environment but the staff at VEG made us feel so much better that he was in good hands. We were so impressed with the friendly staff, communication, and quality of care at this office and would definitely recommend choosing them if your pet is in need! Ollie is almost back to his normal self thanks to VEG!

We had to take our adult cat Poinsettia in due to not using the restroom for days and being unusually bloated and lethargic. While the wait time was long it made sense since the building was packed with other concerned pet owners. When taken back they drew a cute flower on her room with her name which warmed our hearts. We were told an idea of what was going on and what prices were going to be. The more she got looked at the worse her diagnosis got, and in the end she was found to have cancer cells in the fluids in her tummy. We were heart broken as we made the decision to end her suffering, but the staff gave us time to be with her and were so sympathetic during the whole process. One of the employees sat in the room with us for a couple minutes and talked to us about the silly things her cats did to get our minds off things. We are very grateful for that. She passed wrapped in her favorite blankets like she used to sleep at home. This was our first pet loss, so we are still coping through it, but we couldn't have chosen a better emergency vet to go to. Thank you all for being so nice and understanding. This will definitely be our go-to emergency vet for future kitties, but fingers crossed we won't be back for a while.

I cannot express my gratitude to the Veterinary Emergency Group enough. There are an incredible group of professionals. And it is such a unique experience compared to other vet hospitals. I walked in with my Min Pin, who was obviously in distress and the nurse called out "I need a doctor now" and 4 staff members, doctors and nurses, came to our side and immediately because examining my dog. I was allowed to stay with him at the exam table for the entire process. They explained everything they were doing and answering any and all questions in a language I could understand. I was able to stay by his side the entire time, and was welcome to spend the night there if I wanted. When have you ever had that experience? I ended up having to transfer him to another facility for a neurological exam - the same old same old, wait in a steril cold room waiting for hours for an update. I happily give them a thumbs up and would recommend them to all my neighbors and friends. It is so comforting to have a place like this close to downtown without having to drive 30 plus minutes outside of Denver for comparable services. Great job team and many thanks!

VEG is the absolute best! I love that you stay with your pet for the exam, procedures, and the waiting in between -- it makes such a difference to the furbabies. We've visited a few times -- first back in October and a couple of visits this past week. Our most recent visit was with Dr Simone Meyer. She was very thorough, thoughtful, and put me at ease with what our game plan is to get our dog, Delilah, feeling better. Rose at the front desk was very helpful and kind. She went above and beyond for everyone that came in and helped make pets and their owners comfortable.

We had a great experience with the care our dog received at VEG. Our pup developed gastroenteritis late in the evening, and the emergency vet by our house told us they had a 3-5 hour wait time. They referred us to VEG, who got us in immediately. The staff was so caring and attentive to our pup, giving her cuddles/pets as well as a bath to clean her up when she got sick during the visit. They ran all the tests she needed, described all the tests and procedures to me, and followed all the procedures to make her well again. She had to stay overnight for fluids and monitoring, and I was able to rest a little easier knowing she was being taken care of. We received photos of her relaxing overnight and an update on her care from the staff. They told me I could come in and visit her anytime, and they even set up a chair for my daughter and I to sit with her when we visited. I also appreciated that the procedures and costs are transparent. She made a full recovery, and I couldn’t be happier. Should my dog ever need it again, I would immediately go to VEG even over the emergency vet slightly closer to our house because I was so impressed with the care our pup received.

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is unlike any other animal emergency vet facility, in the best ways possible! After having spoken to a vet over the phone, my family and I were immediately greeted by the staff and taken back with our dog. I was with our dog the entire time she was being treated (except for when x-rays were being taken of course). It was so reassuring for us and our dog to be able to be together as she was obviously sick and scared and we were very worried. Although they were busy, a vet tech brought out three bean bags for us to sit on and a blanket for our dog. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and compassionate. Throughout the visit, multiple people checked on us and asked us if we needed anything. The vet techs are highly skilled and so nice. Dr. Munguia was thoughtful and patient and we immediately felt confident in his approach and recommendations to treat our dog. The entire time I was there (at least two hours), I observed the amazing expertise and teamwork among all the staff. In addition to the wonderful treatment they provided my dog, I really appreciated the great communication during and after the visit. I received a copy of the invoice, the exam notes and recommendations, diagnostic results, treatment plan and discharge instructions. I also received a call the next day to check in on how our dog was feeling. The treatment our dog received worked and she was back to herself the next day. VEG is 30 minutes away from our home, but if we needed emergency help for our dog again, I would go back there in a heartbeat despite the distance.

This place is incredible. Our German Shepard was throwing up blood and we were treated with such great care and attention. For those of you keen on the details, here’s what happened: On day 1 I called to get info on how concerned we should be and what to expect at their facility—I was immediately put on the phone with a doctor, no hold, who walked me through various conditions his symptoms might indicate. The doctor then sent me a text to fill out an intake form while we were still on the phone to be sure I received it. Once we got to their hospital we were seen in minutes and the nurse, doctor, and student training all sat down on the floor with our very nervous boy and immediately started working. While I did my intense mom rant detailing his condition/history, I was never interrupted and felt that my concerns were heard loud and clear. They worked with us to confidently meet his needs while ALSO being considerate of our budget and never made us uncomfortable that we could only afford so much. We left within an hour of arriving, they were focused and efficient. Our dog continued to throw up blood later that night—we called back (at 3am) and they invited us to come right back. Again we were met immediately with care and undivided attention. We had to take further diagnostic steps to find the cause of the bleeding, our budget was again respected and they found every way to “say yes”, walked us through next steps, and how to collect a sample that we needed to bring back this morning (our third visit in 48hrs, which was literally no problem, they were committed to us and our dogs health). Side bar: Tobias is very scared of needles and likes to talk his talk with any sign of injection—instead of sedating him, making us feel like our dog was naughty, or taking him elsewhere, they simply had us be at his face giving him lots of love and distractions. We weren't charged a emergency visit fee for the second or third visit since it was a continued event. We worked w Dr Kelly and nurse Gwen and they were awesome. They answered any and every question I had no problem (admittedly I’m pretty thorough). All three visits we also had our Doberman and they were happy to keep our little family together at every step. I’ve had my fair share of emergency visits over the course of 7 dogs and these last 48hrs at VEG have unequivocally been the best care I’ve ever received. I can’t recommend them highly enough. Everything about my visit was great. The doctor and everyone on staff were friendly, compassionate, and caring. My dog started bleeding uncontrollably from his mouth. I called them asking if I was able to come in and they told me to bring my pet in. Check in was sent to my phone and quickly filled out. As soon I came through the door, my pet was seen by the doctor. They were very attentive and thorough from the plan and transparent with the pricing as well. It’s never a good day when you have to visit an emergency vet, but the care team at VEG put me and my dog immediately at ease. Granted, I happened to arrive when things were relatively calm, but still, I was invited back into the open-concept triage space within 15 seconds of arriving. The team announced my dog’s name and every doctor and staff in the room looked up to greet us. We were met with two doctors who immediately sat on the ground and began talking to me while examining my dog. It all felt so casual and calming even though we were all aware of the potential seriousness of the situation. The doctors were able to describe several possible courses of action based on my dog’s test results and immediately got to work. But the best part was that I got stay with my dog the entire time while the team continuously updated me on the results of her tests. People came over to say hi and check in often, and the whole time we were no more than 5 feet away from a doctor or nurse. I have never, ever felt more comfortable in a medical setting, human or animal. Thankfully my dog was okay and we were able to leave together with very clear follow up instructions. Of course I hope that we don’t have to end up in emergency care anytime soon, but if we do, I’m coming here. Thank you so very much to the whole VEG team!

The staff at the Veterinary Emergency Group are ALL amazing individuals!!! They are kind, compassionate and professional! It is wonderful being able to stay with your fur baby every step of the way. The staff go out of their way to make sure you are as comfortable as you can be in the situation. They offer water, coffee, snacks, and even a bean bag to sit with your pet or next to their kennel. The communication is great! Being notified every step of the way before, during and after surgery was so helpful. The doctors never seem rushed and took time to answer all of our questions thoroughly. Being able to visit anytime amd stay as long as you want offers a level of comfort that we have not experienced in any other pet emergency situation. I would 100% recommend VEG!

They treat on a emergency basis, however we've never had to wait long. Honestly in my opinion, any wait time is worth it. Not only to get help when you need it 24/7. They offer you the ability to be seen by a medical staff with the upmost capability and impressive level of knowledge. As a team, they provide the best possible care to their patients. (The ones with fur and the ones that love them) When our vet let us down, the Veterinary Emergency Group was there for us!

My pup got an eye injury playing with another dog so I brought her in to get everything checked out to be on the safe side and the staff was amazing. Everyone was super nice and accommodating. I love how open they were and the fact that I could be with my pet the whole time was amazing not only for me as a scared fur momma but also for her as she gets anxious and stressed at the vet. They were able to get us in right away and service was quick and thorough. This is an emergency service so it is pricy but given the proper circumstances it’s necessary. Our experience was very positive and I’d recommend taking your pet here when in need of immediate treatment!

Our experience at VEG was fantastic. VEG was very busy, but there was never a moment where we didn’t feel welcome. I almost turned around because the lobby was so full I expected wait at least an hour. To my surprise we were greeted immediately, saw a technician within 5 minutes and a doctor within 10 minutes. The staff works really well with one another. Everyone who approached Scout was so kind, caring and gentle. Dr. Isreal didn’t even flinch when our pup (15 lb, 1 y/o) tried to nip him - Just got more help and got the job done efficiently and safely for all parties involved. It really does help ease the pets anxiety that VEG allows the owners to stay with their pets. We definitely recommend VEG for any emergency pet needs.

Amazing care and quality. Our dog had an extreme emergency. We were able to immediately walk in without hesitation. A team of 4-5 people came quickly and began their protocol. The doctor communicated consistently to us and never made us feel rushed. We were allowed to be alongside our dog however long we wanted to be. Our dog required hospital transfer and 2 staff members transported him and waited until my he was checked in at the other location before leaving. As tragic as our situation was, VEG gave the highest quality of care.

VEG is amazing. If something happens to your dog and your vet is not open, come here ASAP. Our beloved Apollo was hit by a car on Thanksgiving. We luckily were only a 5 minute drive from VEG and rushed him here. Within minutes, they stabilized him and had a treatment plan set up for us. But beyond the medical expertise, it was their care that really made them so amazing. They took over one of their spare rooms and made a bed for us so we could spend the next three nights with our pup. Every time they checked on him, they also checked on us. The doctors were straightforward, explained everything in clear terms to us, and they gave us options. The nurses were patient, loving, and incredibly helpful. After we had transferred him from VEG, the doctor who was there the night we brought Apollo in still called to check and see how he was doing. Happy to say Apollo is home safe recovering now, all thanks to VEG! Thank you all so much.

I wanted to take a little time to share my experience at VEG, Veterinary Emergency Group. I had to take my cat in on Feb 25th, 2022 to have him looked at. He's an older cat with Hyperthyroidism and needed some immediate attention. I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY, recommend this emergency veterinary hospital if your fur baby is in need of immediate attention. Everyone, from the moment we walked in to the time we left, was so incredibly nice, polite and very accommodating. I had even asked who was in charge because I believe in letting upper management know, how good of a job their workers (were) are, doing. Its nice to know that you can take your pet to an emergency vet hospital and have the type of experience that my sister and I had. No one every wants to have to take their pet to an emergency, but if that unfortunate time ever does happen, Veterinary Emergency Group would definitely be the place I would encourage anyone to take their pet. ❤️

After bringing my 3 month old corgi in during late busy hours, every worker that I spoke with were nothing but wonderful. They stayed consistent with the best attitudes no matter how many patients came in, very informative, nurturing to my pet and myself, and it was very clear that you could see that each and every employee truly loves what they do. I have never been to a vet or Vet ER visit that has shown this much character. I would give 10 stars if I could.

We had to take our kitten in around 11 PM on a Friday. She had opened her wound after getting spayed the week before and I was panicking. They were all WONDERFUL. I am so glad we called. They sent me the paperwork before we arrived and were able to help our kitty as soon as we walked in the door. I never thought I'd be leaving a 5 star review for an emergency situation, but that's how amazing the staff at VEG was. My dog needed to be hospitalized and every single person I interacted with at the clinic was competent, kind, sensitive, compassionate, empathetic and genuinely cared about getting my dog feeling well again. Despite being an emergency center, the clinic felt calm and not stressful. The doctors explained everything clearly, checked in on my dog and me frequently and wanted to make sure we were both as comfortable as possible. My miniature schnauzer had been avoiding food for over 5 days with it getting worse each day. I finally couldn’t wait and took her to VEG today. Their team is so quick and on top of it, I felt safe letting Stevie get treated here. Not to mention it’s an open concept so I was able to stay with her. This helped her anxiety, and stress level. Within the hour of treatment my baby was already eating her food again and came back to life. While I can’t remember the doctors name due to my own anxiety I want make a note that he was quick and decisive with a game plan and truly made the situation manageable and this includes the entire team that worked with us. I also want to mention a pretty red head that gave Stevie extra attention to calm her down which helped. I am so thankful VEG exists. It fills a very a large void. You don't have the long wait times or stressful, chaotic atmosphere that you do at the large 24 hr Vet Emergency Hospitals. Also, unlike those places, VEG lets you stay with your pet which significantly lowers the stress level for the pet and owner. I was very impressed with everyone I encountered, from the receptionist to the vet tech and vet. Dr. Munguia was excellent. He really took the time to review my elderly cat's extensive medical history and took that into account with his treatment. He was very knowledgeable and did a great job of answering my questions and explaining options for my cat. I never felt rushed.

Dr. Kelly Hensley and her team were absolutely amazing. I'm a (human) ER doc and had to bring my 13yo Golden Retriever in on a Sunday night when he got very sick. This place is amazing for emergency dog visits! You feel seen, heard and they are so welcoming to you and your pet. They genuinely care to help fix whatever issue you’re having all while making sure you’re comfortable by answering all questions, thoroughly explaining options and offering food and drink multiple times. I was even there when a dog was brought in that was hit by a car. I was extremely upset after seeing this and all of the receptionist and even a nurse came to check on me. They are so kind and caring and truly take care of your pet as one of their own. I have unfortunately had to take a couple of them in for emergency vet care… I used to go to Alameda East as it was my only option and I was always so disappointed about the care and compassion that was missing. I drove past VEG one day and was so excited that there was a very close emergency vet to me if I ever needed… the day came and I will never go to a different after hours vet. I love the open room atmosphere and that they offer you to stay with your pet through their entire experience. The love that the staff has for their jobs is absolutely remarkable. No one wants to end up in an emergency vet clinic. My poor boy, Finn, ingested something he should not have and I am so thankful the first Google suggestion for an ER was VEG Denver. Finn was treated like an absolute king during his entire 48-hour stay. VEG made sure he got his fill of love and ear scratches, and they even moved him into his own room when he became too stressed in the big room. They were so attentive to Finn’s likes and dislikes! Not to mention, the team were so friendly and kind. They let me visit my buddy as much as I wanted to and kept me up-to-date on his blood work and how he was doing. There are not enough doughnuts or words in the world to show my thanks and appreciation for the VEG Team… Though I hope I never have the need for an emergency vet again, I’m relieved to know there is such an outstanding clinic to go to. We are so blown away by our experience at the veterinary emergency group. This past weekend on 5/14, Our two pups decided to have a buffet in our bathroom; digging and eating our trash— leaving us no choice but to head straight into their emergency clinic because we needed to have it removed. We ended up staying there with our two pups for 4 hours. The staff was so wonderful!! They were so attentive! They immediately greeted us as we walked in and were so quick to make sure our kiddos were taken back in a timely manner. I cannot recommend VEG enough. Everyone at VEG knows how stressful coming to an animal hospital can be and they do whatever they can to make you feel welcomed and at home while caring for your pet. From the moment you walk in the door the entire staff is welcoming, understanding and supportive of all their four (and two legged) patient’s needs. My 6month old puppy had diarrhea for 3 straight days so brought her over to the emergency as rice and chicken was not helping. The check-in process was super easy and smooth and they got to us right away. All the options were presented and explained to me. Everyone that talked to me was very friendly to my dog and to me. The place is super clean and modern. The entire time I felt calm and confident they could help me. They provided the necessary tests and medicines for my pup. I will definitely come back next time my puppy is in need of an emergency, but hoping I don’t need to.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff. The facilities are nice and they have a waiting area stocked with free coffee, snacks, books, etc. The bathroom is nice and clean. They also offer discounted rates to fellow veterinarians. Waiting times can be intense sometimes, but it is an ER and they have to triage other patients ahead of yours if they're critical. Overall a solid option to go to for vet ER services in the area. Their open clinical area is pretty unique but they do have closed off rooms for when they have to isolate patients.

My 17 1/2 year old cat is having some health issues and it’s so hard to get into a vet right away unless it’s an emergency vet. This place is SO busy! They treated us like we were the only one there. We have visited twice in the last two weeks and both times the staff and Vets took their time with us and made us as comfortable as possible. They gave us options and I never felt like they were about the money. They were upfront and they seemed to genuinely care about my Bella as well as how I was doing. I highly recommend this Emergency vet. No one wants to have to have to visit an Emergency vet, but I really felt like we were in good, caring hands, both visits. One was the middle of the night and one during the day, both times, exceptional care and bedside manner. Thank you for caring for my Bella and I.

I cannot recommend VEG enough if you ever find yourself in need of emergency vet care. We had a pretty minor incident with our dog on a Sunday (definitely not life threatening but a cut bad enough that we didn’t want to wait until Monday to be treated) and experienced such great treatment and care from the folks at VEG. They were so kind in their interactions with Miley and with us. She’s a pretty anxious dog and being able to stay with her during treatment went a long way to ensure she was feeling comfortable. I also witnessed the way they interacted with folks who had to unfortunately come in for more serious treatment and they moved so quickly to treat their animals while being compassionate and caring to their owners to ease their worries. Overall just a great place with some great people.

From start to finish I truly had such a great experience at VEG. Everybody who worked there was incredibly kind, helpful and answered all of my questions. I was shocked at how efficient the process was, and how quickly I was in and out despite a very full waiting room. I wish I could remember everybody’s name, but the tech who took my dog’s vitals, Dr. Lindsey and Randi were all fantastic and really put me at ease after a stressful few hours. We have had a lot of emergency vet experiences unfortunately with our 2 dachshunds and the wait at Alameda East has become so long that we wished there was an alternative and was recommended this place by our primary care vet and a friend. When our dog ingested something non toxic but needed fluids and sedation so he didn’t injure himself we brought him in at 3am on a Friday night. They were well staffed, busy but attentive and was able to address our situation right away. I appreciated the quick attention because when your dog is in pain or discomfort you want them to get treatment right away even though may not be life threatening. I felt the staff understood and respected that and gave us piece of mind he would be well taken care of and he’s back to his normal self! Grateful to have them in the neighborhood but hopefully don’t need to return anytime soon.

Their team was very professional, skilled and a pleasure to talk to during the process of getting our cat examined. It's taken us some time to be able to write this review, but we felt as though it was absolutely necessary to share our incredible experience through such a heartbreaking time. We brought our little boy Dobby to VEG for what we assumed was something blocking his airway, as his breathing was labored, completely out of nowhere. He had not exhibited any other concerning behaviors until this point, and was only 6 years old, so something terminal was practically out of the question in our minds. Upon arrival, despite a lobby full of other pets and owners, VEG took him back immediately after recognizing that his labored breathing was likely due to a significantly more concerning reason. Triage began immediately. The vet took an ultrasound within maybe one to two minutes, and informed us that his chest cavity was filled with fluid and he was likely experiencing heart failure. Devastated and shocked, my partner and I agreed to a myriad of tests and treatment options to get him feeling and breathing better. Ultimately, to NO fault of the incredible staff, Dobby's prognosis was poor and we said goodbye to him that night. The staff provided us with SO much reassurance, assuaging our guilt, comforting us, and giving us all the time we needed to prepare our goodbyes. I'm pretty sure that every single staff member took a moment to come over to us, give us their condolences, and tell us we were making a selfless decision. After we finished saying goodbye, staff hugged us and emphasized the importance of us getting home safely. We will be getting his paw prints, which will be so comforting, but the most comforting thing of all is knowing that the staff were able to alleviate his pain and allow him to pass comfortably, purring in our arms as he went to sleep. The unexpectedness of this loss is one of the most challenging things to cope with, but I am so glad we made the decision to take him to VEG and that his final moments were filled with love. I hope to never visit again, for obvious reasons, but am so glad to know that if we ever face another emergency, there is a vet who is truly compassionate and will do all that they can. We love you forever, Dob. 💕

They did a great job taking care of Turtle. He broke his leg at the groomer and VEG responded very quickly to our call to ensure there was no wait. They addressed his pain first and made him comfortable before doing further tests. I appreciated that they let me stay with him the whole time and so Turtle stayed calm. It took around 3 hours for a broken leg and they were also able call around on the weekend to find an ortho surgeon to get him all pitched up.

UNMATCHED QUALITY OF SERVICE AND CARE!!! From the moment I walked in with my 4 month old Cane Corso mix (Bear) with a swollen hind leg. I was quickly checked in and gently asked questions about our situation. They attended him quickly and took time to acknowledge each and every patient as we all waited to be treated. The love and compassion ALL staff radiate under such momentarily life changing situations was comforting. I got there and it was so busy I chose to sit on the floor with Bear out of the way yet felt acknowledged by all staff making sure him and I were ok as we waited. Once the chaos slowly diminished by moments- ALL staff took time to sit with patients concerned parents to check in and make them feel heard as they waited. Whitney in particular sat with me for a couple minutes on the floor and reassured me of all steps that will be taken to make him feel better. The receptionists were extremely attentive and genuine with concern and answering any questions from the moment you check in to the moment you check out. The facility is absolutely CLEAN!! The way they have their area set up seem like a movie. Absolutely incredible. For such a stressful situation, they truly brought peace to my soul every second I was there. I hope I don’t have to go back again with any of my pups. I know that if I am faced in an emergency situation- they will be my ONLY location. Because I KNOW first hand that they will do everything in their power for my animal and for myself during that time. Thank you VEG for your genuine concern for each animal that walks through your door and having such PHENOMENAL STAFF with unmatched service and quality of care. Thank you!

My dog had a suspected blockage and we were able to get in quickly, be seen right away, and EVERY step of the process was happily explained to me. They were ALL so kind, real, and compassionate towards me and my dog. My dog made friends with some of the staff and was clearly more comfortable in this clinic than any other vet office we've been to. I appreciate the open concept design and transparency of the business and got to be there every step of the way for my dogs xrays, diagnostics, and ultimate endoscopy. The docs were professional without being unreachable. We had Dr Jeni Nezerka and talking to her was so easy and I felt like we were in the best hands. This is always going to be my go-to place for any of my pets when they need emergency visits.

The Colfax and Colorado VEG is full of amazing people! This was honestly a better experience than I’ve had at my primary vet in the last two years. I have been poo-pooed by my primary over questions about my geriatric cat’s health and told “she’s just old." I came to VEG for a simple UTI concern, not wanting to wait the entire weekend to hear back from my primary vet, and received more *CARE* than I could only HOPE to get from my primary vet. I have been pointed in the right direction to have my concerns addressed by a vet who only just met my animal, and that's not even why we visited them. Thank you, VEG, for making me feel like my old lady cat's health mattered, and not simply prescribing meds and sending us on our way without any of my questions answered. Your animals are in AMAZING hands here. Every single person I came into contact with was lovely. I wish they offered primary care!

The care, compassion, and competence of the reception staff, techs (sorry I can't remember everyone's names), and Dr. Jones was impeccible and comforting during a very difficult time. The chance to be with my beloved boy every step of the way made such a difference. This is a one-of-a-kind practice that is so different from other ER experiences I've had. I cannot say enough incredible things about the Vet Emergency Group on Colfax. Nobody wants to have to go through this experience (or have to pay for it!), but if you do, please go here. I was in the emergency room for 48 hours with this incredible team. We were trying to avoid surgery on my 2 year old doodle that might have eaten something he shouldn't. VEG took it step by step, laying out my options for the next test or straight into surgery. This experience is obviously incredibly stressful, and you're worried about your baby but also the climbing costs. While still incredibly expensive, I really appreciate Dr. Nezerka for walking me through every medical result as well as talking me through the financial impact of each course of action. It is expensive for sure! But there were no surprises. In terms of the level of care my pup AND I received, I was blown away. Every single Tech there truly cared about us. Gryff was constantly getting cuddles, I was constantly offered water / coffee / snacks / tissues / company / anything. I was allowed to stay with Gryff through everything up until actually watching the surgery. They could all tell how nervous I was and someone was always checking in. They also explained EVERYTHING, which is so helpful when often you feel like you don't get the whole picture. Here you do. Some special callouts - Dr. Nezerka - SO warm and nurturing. I literally felt like I had my mom there with me. The best in terms of explaining each medical result, each next step, all options available, and the financial implications. The whole front desk - As the first people you see when you walk in or talk to when you call, this is so important. They were absolute sweethearts. You can tell how much they care about your pet and you. Dr. Brien Jones - Dr. Brien did my pup's surgery, and I am so thankful he did. An incredible surgeon and given I was right outside watching through the window (I think the stress and adrenaline made me do that), he even engaged me through the surgery as he found the culprits that my pup ate. Hailey M - The anesthesiologist and tech assisting on the surgery was also such a sweetheart (there's a theme at this place). Just such a kind soul. She explained how my pup would react to the drugs and what would happen at each step, so I was prepared. I was also allowed to be with him as they did everything to prepare him for surgery. Literally EVERYONE else - I cannot stress enough the warmth that I felt from everyone there, not just the technicians that were assigned to me but everyone there. I was constantly checked in on and offered tissues (I was stressed), water, coffee, food, etc. As horrible of an experience as this was, it was made better and memorable by an incredible group of humans. Experience was traumatic but VEG made it so much better! They went over and above to make sure that not only my dog was OK but myself included. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and so kind! I don’t think there is anything that they could’ve done better. I was just in tonight with my dog who had a minor emergency. I was super impressed with this clinic and would definitely come back with my dog or cats if we ever have another emergency. Everyone including reception, vet techs/assistants, and the vet were very calm, reassuring, and kind. I really appreciated that I was able to stay with Dodge the entire time as opposed to rushing him back and leaving me in the waiting room. They kept us both comfortable and we didn't have to wait long for anything, even though they were fairly busy. I also didn't feel pressured on anything, we discussed options for testing and I did decide to decline x-rays and didn't feel any push-back. Emergency vets are inherently expensive, but my bill was not outrageous and I think it was comparable to other emergency vets in the area. Emergencies are stressful and scary and I was definitely more panicked than I needed to be, but everyone here was very compassionate and I calmed down right away. Would definitely recommend.

Needed to take my pup to the emergency room around midnight. We were immediately greeted and the wait for the vet tech and doctor was relatively short. Dr. Beth Sotiropoulos was amazing. Luckily, there were no serious medical conditions with my pup. This facility is pricey, however, considering this is a 24-hr emergency care facility and I came with no appointment, the price was expected. The level of care is exceptional and in line with the price paid.

ER on steroids I have never seen such an operation- they work with such precision and do this choreographed dance that is amazing to watch -they are positive and caring to the animals and with each other Something that I have just never witnessed- I was so impressed having been in so many ERs with animals in the past including horses. From the minute I called in and spoke to Dr. Brien and he’s the one that helped me through the evening with my little friend the corgi. That I was housesitting for. All of the techs that helped me last night and today when I picked him up. And Dr. MEGAN who helped us figure out how to navigate the next step. A trip to the emergency vet is never a fun experience, however VEG made it as seamless as possible. My pup woke up last week struggling to breathe and I took her in immediately, turns out she had pneumonia and her body wasn't receiving enough oxygen. VEG kept her overnight and she was able to come home the next morning. As scary as an experience this was, VEG was extremely transparent about the cost, they allowed me to be with my pup, Pita, at all times, and even once I went home they were great about calling and texting me updates. I would certainly recommend VEG to others. Pita is now on the up and up and recovering extremely well!

This was an outstanding experience for me and my new puppy! We were so worried about him, and as new dog owners, all we wanted is to know he was alright. I was greeted with reassurance the moment we walked through the doors. All the staff were excellent with Brewer and there was virtually no wait to see the doctor. Filling out preliminary info, going through his history, and taking his vitals were done efficiently and with ease, which was surprising given how scared he normally is. I got to go in the back with him (not just hand him over and wait blindly in the lobby like other ERs), and we were given a room where we were treated. We were consistently and throughly communicated with throughout the process, from the technicians to the doctor's evaluation and treatment plan. This place is wonderful. I just moved to the area and my kitty started getting sick. I called ahead of time and they advised me to come in, and I was able to check him in online. I couldn’t be there with my cat due to being home sick, so everything had to be explained over the phone. The staff was so helpful and patient with me and my cat. He received great care which was a relief being in a new place - would definitely recommend!

I can’t say enough about this emergency vet. Our six month old puppy had a bad reaction to some sedatives and the team at both the Colfax and Edgewater locations, between the hours of 12 am and 3 am, were some of the most lovely, professional people while I figured out if I should bring her in and then when I actually brought her. She was unusually anxious and pacing, and the vet got on the ground with her and just hung out while we talked through a possible diagnosis and treatment options. I was so tired from a few days of terrible sleep, and not once did I feel overwhelmed or confused. I felt confident she got the care she needed when we left, and never once felt like it was a burden that I had brought her in. The vet even gave me some suggestions for next steps on an eye infection we were managing. From someone who really was at the end of her rope and exhausted, I will always err on the side of prioritizing this emergency clinic over any other. I hope we never need to go back, but if we do, I’m so grateful they’re in Denver.

From the moment Flora the Doodle was wheeled into the clinic after being hit by a car, the team never wavered in their compassionate and superb care of my dear dog. From the docs to the nurses to the vet techs, everyone was always cheerful, engaged and focused on good care for all the critters at the clinic. To an outsider like me, the place looked chaotic and crowded at times. In spite of that everyone remained focused and always willing to answer questions about Flora, get me a glass of water, find a chair, and explain the strange beeping sound coming from her monitor. Part of this emergency health crisis was the cost. That part was handled in a very expedient and well defined way. I always knew what was coming in terms of cost....and ways to handle it. Well done everyone...Keep up the good work...we need people like you in times of crisis with our beloved pets.

Took our 9 month old goldendoodle here late the other evening. Our place in line bumped a few times due to more emergent cases that came in but the staff constantly checked in with us/our dog, offered drinks & snacks and told us what was happening. The care was excellent, diagnosis made and treatment began immediately along with a follow up plan. Communication excellent and all questions answered. Never felt ignored and was nice that we could be with our puppy the entire time. Hope I don’t need a vet ER again but if I do I would definitely go back here!

They did their best to make sure my wife and I as well as Calcifer we're comfortable while we waited for results from the tests they ran on Calcifer. Best emergency vet visit I've ever had! Obviously I would have preferred not to have gone, but my buddie was very ill and needed immeadiate treatment. Dr. Nelson treated my dog Wynston for pneumonia and foreign bodies in his stomach. I wish I knew the names of all the wonderful staff who treated him (there were too many to remember). Front desk staff was the most professional I've ever dealt with as well. They were also transparent about billing and I wasn't hit with any suprise charges. They will be my first choice if another emergency ever arises. This was the Denver location on Colfax. Thank you Dr. Nelson and staff! However, shortly after we landed in Denver, I noticed blood in her stool and immediately searched for an emergency vet on Google. I’m so happy I found this place! VEG took great care of my dog. He had a fairly quick onset of pain, which was diagnosed as swimmer's tail, and he is doing much better today. What really impressed me was how well the staff worked with Lucky. Lucky is a big dog that can get anxious in new surroundings. Everyone was patient and kind to him. They were great at comunicating, professional, and friendly too. I'm so glad to know VEG is there for my emergency needs. Their pricing is very fair and the quality of care is exceptional. Update: a few months later and my other dog had a bite wound. It was a Sunday on a long weekend, so I was happy to know VEG was there. Cuddles recieved the same excellent care as Lucky did. I really appreciate the consistency of compassionate, skilled care my dogs have received.

My dog's nose had a bug bite, scratch, cut or something and it soon her face was swollen. She looked like another breed of dog! I called VCA Alameda and they were too full. I looked for another emergency and found VEG. I called and went. They were a little busy but able to handle the volume very well. The intake was quick and vitals were taken immediately. The back room was bustling with activity with vet techs, animals, other supporting personnel..it looks like a MASH unit or triage. I was able to go back with my dog to the room and watch everything that was going on with other pets, my pet, etc. The Veterinarian prescribed meds and we were on our way home. This group can handle anything that comes along. They all work together for the better good! Highly recommend!

The best part is they got us in and out quickly. If you've ever been to a hospital you know that's usually not the case. Their process of checking in and payment is automated by phone so make sure you bring your cell. The staff is friendly and knows how to work well with animals in destress. They have a nice parking lot, for downtown Denver that's a huge boon.

You aren't seperated from your pet. You are with your pet through out the exam as the doctors figure out their diagnosis. Definately a good, new approach as you see how your questions are answered while keeping your pet calm.

I simply cannot say enough nice things about the staff and quality of care at Veterinary Emergency Group. I brought my dog, Ginger, in for an emergency visit and found out that she had a life-threatening infection that needed immediate treatment for her to survive. She was admitted to the hospital for two nights and when we picked her up this morning, aside from being really tired, she looked like a completely new dog. She's eating and drinking again, and her bowel movements are no longer bloody and loose. My girl is a rescue from a junkyard who came into our lives when she was two, and she's terrified of people. The staff at VEG must have some special kind of magic, because she allowed them to get close to her, pet her, and care for her, something almost unheard of in the last 4 years since we adopted her. They were completely transparent in their billing and estimates, explaining every item and why they thought those things were necessary. While emergency care is expensive, I never felt that they were overcharging me or taking advantage of the severity of her illness to get more money out of us. No price gouging, no garbage charges or unneeded tests. If you need emergency care that you can trust, VEG is the best place to be. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you did for our Ginger. We are so grateful.

Our fur baby was attacked by another dog and we took him to another animal hospital but we had no primary vet to follow up with. They got us in immediately, took excellent care of him and the vet went above and beyond by giving us her work schedule the following week so we could bring him to another follow up with her since she was familiar with his injury. I wish they were primary vets instead of just an ER because they were compassionate, communicative, and had excellent customer service from the front desk all the way up. Thanks ladies!!!

Absolutely nothing needs to be improved at VEG. This place is really impressive to watch in motion. Every employee is compassionate, helpful, professional. They treat each other, as well as their human and animal clients, like they truly care for them! They all go well above and beyond the normal level of professionalism, and their efficiency and industry is extremely impressive. The open floor model doesn't seem like it should work, but it does. My dogs always go from shivering and terrified when we arrive, to at least moderately comfortable if not relaxed after being there for a short while.

This is by far the best Vet clinic/hospital I’ve been to in the Denver Metro area. They were very open and honest about pricing, and did what they could to work with us given the situation and based on our budget. The employees also did their best to accommodate us with an aggressive dog. I’m generally very over critical but they exceeded all my expectations.They also offer a veterans discount, so that’s a plus. Either way, definitely a 11/10!!!

Aside from the reason for my visit, I had an amazing experience here! Arrived very stressed and worried for my cat Sheldon, but the staff was so amazing and friendly that I immediately felt at ease. Every staff member referred to my cat by name and even knew which cat was mine when I would call over the phone. I was allowed to be present for every step of his treatment and it was up to me if I wanted to be there or step outside because it was too hard to watch. They even said I could stay overnight with my cat if I wanted to. Doctors called me at the end of their shifts to give me updates, and during nighttime hours I would receive texts to let me know my cat was stable and doing well. When I went to pick him up at the end of his stay, the nurses would talk to me about his behavior overnight in such detail that I knew he was very well cared for and received lots of love and attention. Would recommend this location to anyone.

I wish I could give more stars. VEG did an amazing job with my Penny from the time we called to the time we left the parking lot. David and Lana were phenomenal, not only did they take amazing care of my fur baby but they kept me informed and at ease the entire time. Dr. Brill was amazing as well, he talked me through everything and made feel comfortable putting my girl in their hands. They truly care about your animals as they are their own.

I brought my dachshund in for a hurt neck. The wait wasn't long from the nurse's triage in the lobby to being able to go back with the doctor. They were very clear about what the issue was and treatment moving forward. The staff was all very nice and professional. I personally work at a vet clinic and was very impressed with how things ran and would take my pet back there if another emergency happened.

We have been to “VEG” twice, and though the first time can be a surprising experience (open exam room where you wait with your pet) we warmed up to this new concept. Everyone was really nice. They got me a coffee since I couldn’t move cause daisy couldn’t walk without a lot of pain. They helped me with making sure she was comfortable and out of the way of traffic so she would be less stressed. The doctor got her on pain medicine as soon as we could. The techs that helped daisy on and off the X-ray table were also very nice and comforted daisy a lot. She doesn’t normally do well with new people when I’m not in the room and I could tell she was very comfortable. The front desk staff was very kind to a young man that came in to pick up his dog’s remains. They treated it as an emergency to get him out of there and to respect his privacy. He was clearly very distraught and struggling being there.

We’ve taken our dog here a few times now for emergency visits and would never go anywhere else. Dr. Jones & Nicole, our nurse could not have done a better job with our precious pup.
