Urban Vet Care is the best vet we've ever been to! We adopted a kitten from the shelter and he had a bad upper respiratory infection. Dr Barone and the staff were diligent and made sure he regained his health! One of the best things about Urban is that they always give you a call after your appointment to check up on your pet. Our kitten, Camden, loves Dr. Barone!

If I could give Urban Vet Care 10 stars, I would! Dr. Barone, especially, is the kindest and most compassionate veterinarian I've ever been to. Her level of care is exceptional. My cat, who was not a huge fan of going to the vet, literally melted into her arms as Dr. Barone talked about her recommendations. Sadly, we made the incredibly difficult decision to put our baby down. Urban Vet Care sent a sympathy card signed by staff members of the office. It made me cry to have their kindness shine a light on an incredibly dark time. Once our hearts have healed, and we're ready to adopt another fur baby, we'll definitely take them to Urban Vet Care.

I just moved to the southwest side of town, so I was a bit overwhelmed about finding a new vet after 18 years on the east side. Glad I decided to try Urban Vet Care. They have such friendly and knowledgeable front desk staff and technicians. Dr. Rooker was personable and explained things clearly. So far I've only been to this practice for my newly-adopted cats, but I'm seeing all the same commitment and kindness that made me trust my eastside vet through my previous cats' old age and passing-on. I'm looking forward to working with Urban Vet Care throughout my cats' lives.

The Urban Vet team takes such good care of our pup. He always is wagging his tail there even though he's super fearful of other things (so you'd think the vet too). The process is always fast and they are responsive to any questions or needs in a very timely manner.

Everyone I interacted with here was *so* kind. I just adopted a new kitten and I also have a 5 year old tortie who can be pretty difficult sometimes. Not only were vets and staff great with my friendly little kitten yesterday, but they were also *amazing* today when I brought in my older girl. Dr Barone and her assistant Allison were INCREDIBLY AWESOME with her. They were both so compassionate and patient and calm! She’s not a fan of strangers and so people who can do well with her are worth their weight in gold. Couldn’t ask for better!

I've never seen any animals being excited to go to a vet. Bentley boy is soooo thrilled when we visit Urban Vet. He had done multiple blood tests here, and got neutered here as well. It tells me that the staffs really takes care of him even behind the closed doors. Thank you, yall are angels.

Our older cat Lulu is in such good hands here and the quality of her life is greatly enhanced. What a great group of people! Urban Vet happened to just be the most convenient vet from our downtown apartment initially but they have become such an amazing resource for maintaining our older dog's health. Everyone who works at this facility is so kind and caring towards me and my dog everytime we visit and the vets are very knowledgeable. I hesitated to write this review because it is tough to get an appointment here as it is, buy I highly recommend bringing your furry best friend to Urban Vet for care.

Urban Vet Care is the best! Their staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgable. My dog gets severe anxiety at the vet, and their team is always patient and caring with her. Their prices are reasonable and they typically have availability so I don't have to wait very long to get her in when needed. I will never take my dogs to any other vet for as long as I live in Denver. They are always extremely patient and gentle(especially with my scared rescue girl— THANK YOU Dr. Purdy) and extremely knowledgeable on all animal needs. My two dogs never have a bad time at the vet and don't hate it because they make it so fun and give them treats during the wellness exams. Even during COVID-19, they've managed to make the process as informative as it can be while adhering to social distancing measures.

Urban Vet Care is great. We love Dr. Lawson. They provided estimates for our puppy's first year which helped us decide to get pet insurance (totally worth it). When my dog was spayed they sent me a text when she was going into surgery and when she came out and then Dr. Lawson even called me to follow up. I can't recommend them enough!

Love the vets and staff and have received wonderful care for my 3 year old and 6 month old dogs. Evening and weekend office hours make visits work well with my work schedule. Prices are reasonable. My experience with Urban Vet Care has been wonderful. I took my 10 year old miniature pinscher there almost a year ago because he was having respiratory issues. The new patient forms were easy to access online and I was able to make an appointment quickly. When I arrived the staff did have me use the isolation entrance just in case my pup was contagious, but they were still very friendly. We were seen by Dr. White who was very kind and attentive, she took the time for me to fully explain my pup's medical history and timeline of symptoms. After an initial exam he needed x-rays and a blood panel done to check for infection in his lungs. Dr. White explained to me her reasoning and let me know a tech would be coming in to give me a pricing quote and some options so I could decide what I'd be comfortable paying for. Some people get angry about talking "cost" at a vet's office but the simple truth is, it's actually very helpful and respectful of them. I was given the pricing of the xray, different tests, exam fee, etc. so that I wouldn't be blindsided at the end. I could choose not to do specific tests if I wasn't comfortable paying for them, it was completely up to me. Vet visits for sick animals are expensive, that's the way it is. Human health visits are so expensive we are required to have health insurance, why is it so surprising that it costs serious money when your pet is ill? If you have a problem with that either don't have a pet or get pet health insurance, which (by the way) Urban Vet Care does accept. After approving the costs all the tests were run and the xrays taken. Dr. White brought in the charts for me to see and explained what she was seeing. Medications were prescribed and I was told what to watch for. The next day Dr. White called me and let me know the test results (which were good news) and one more medication was needed. In the days following Urban Vet Care contacted me a couple times to make sure my pup was doing okay and a follow-up appointment was scheduled. Today he is a very happy and healthy dog, he just turned 11 a few months ago and we just went back to Urban Vet Care to do annual vaccinations. Fun fact, they also send email reminders when your pet is due for vaccines...awesome! I've been very happy with the care we have received so far and as long as I'm in Denver, Urban Vet Care will be where we go! Thanks everyone!

We have been bringing our senior rescue pug mix here for almost 3 years and they are wonderful. We started at another place and left because the vet was not personable with us or our pup (really our kid). We've had 3 vets at Urban and each one is so incredibly caring and loved on our kids like their own. Super helpful, not pushy about procedures that aren't necessary and understand that price may be a factor. Love this place and couldn't recommend them enough. Update: We've added 2 rescue senior kitties, both with complications and our Vet, Dr. Siebens is just wonderful with them. 🐾

We took our dogs there for 8 years before we moved back to California last summer. This place runs like a well-oiled machine, and is clean, with state of the art facilities. We saw several different doctors over the years there, and some are now no longer there, but overall we had consistently excellent care and service there. The techs and front desk staff are outstanding, and some of the same ones were there for years (more turnover with the doctor staff than the support staff - kinda unusual). They even have a comforting room set aside for euthanasia - made the hardest thing we've ever faced a bit more bearable. Lots of kind, caring, and competent people work there. Have been trying to find a place here in So Cal that we like as much as Urban Vet Care, but none have compared!

Urban Vet Care is the best vet I have ever experienced. The facilities (prior to COVID when we could go inside) were always so clean and welcoming. The front desk staff is also accommodating and kind (calls are returned ASAP). The veterinarians are professional and truly caring of my pet and her needs. They really seek to understand the problem and will take whatever time is needed to ensure I am feeling comfortable and satisfied. Recently, I have received a lengthy explanation from Dr. Siebens on my pets condition via email and I really appreciate her taking the time to sit down and type all of this out. We are so happy we chose Urban Vet Care for our new puppy. We took our 10 week old puppy into the center this week for his first vet appointment and were very impressed. The facility is clean and comfortable, the front desk staff were so friendly, and the techs and vet took their time with us as we had a ton of questions. I LOVE Urban Vet Care. I can't say enough wonderful things about them. I took my eight week old rescue puppy there as soon as I got him. I am a first time puppy mama and I was so nervous about making sure that my little guy was okay. They walked me through all my many questions with such expertise and kindness. When we left, they said we were welcome back for "Happy Visits." They explained that these were times that I could bring in my pup briefly to get him weighed and give him a treat. At first I was skeptical. Now I go every week and I have the only dog I've ever heard of who marches me to the vet! He is SO happy walk through the doors as he now associates the vet with treats and cuddles. Brilliant. So when I picked up my pup from a dog sitter just after the holidays and found he was chewing on glass.... I rushed us to Urban Vet. We love Urban vet care. Dr. Tousley is our favorite vet! She is so kind, caring and listens. I also feel like they have their system down very well with covid and not being able to let pet parents go inside. We don't live too far away, but overall our recent round trip took about an hour and 15 minutes from leaving our place, going to the vet, dropping our kitty off in the breeze way, waiting in the car, talking to Dr. Tousley on the phone to go over our cats health history, paying via a link sent by text, getting our kitty back from the breezeway and bringing her home. It really is pretty easy!

I’ve been coming here since I moved to CO 4 years ago and they have been great to work with. My dog actually gets excited in the car when she realizes where she’s going! They are patient and willing to answer any questions you have. My dog recently cracked her tooth bad enough to need an extraction, which was stressful enough but even more so during quarantine when office visits were not available. Instead we did a virtual visit as the exam and a follow up phone call to answer best options for moving forward. It was incredibly simple and effective - great to know they are willing and able to transition as things change. I’ve never had any trouble getting an appointment when needed and they’re all so friendly. My dog enjoys coming here and I trust her health with their expertise!

Everyone at Urban Vet has treated my dog and me with great care and compassion. Dr. Lawson is wonderfully practical about his recommendations for my puppy's care. He totally gets where I'm coming from as a concerned pet owner, but not a crazy, spend-all-my-money-and-time-on-my-dog kind of person. All the vet techs treat Rooney--who is a bit skittish--with such patience. And the front desk staff greet us warmly, are super-efficient, and so helpful. I am so impressed with Urban Vet Care. My dog is 13.5 years old. They went over everything they felt he needed. I was impressed by the Vet's knowledge of new things, suggestions she made for some issues he is having and how very nicely both the Vet and the Tech treated this grand old boy. The cost of vet care if usually a consideration for most of us. I appreciated the reasonable cost of care and when an extra test needed to be done, she explained the benefits of doing the test and the cost. I highly recommend Urban Vet Care.

This clinic has an excellent selection of vets that always have gone out of their way to get my dog in , even if I didn't have an appointment when my dog ripped a toenail off and had to have it removed. I think the doctors all have great bedside manner too which is important when you are scared and unsure how to proceed. The front desk and techs are always peasant and very kind and presented me with all the info I needed to make the best decisions for me and my pets. I also get my dog food there which is convenient.

BEST VET EVER!!!! When I called the practice, the receptionist was very professional and kind. When I explained my situation, she found me an appointment for my dog (who is 12 and has multiple major health issues) with the vet I requested the very same day. The office is very nice, very clean, and feels relaxing. My dog could even negotiate the front steps. All the staff were great. Dr. Andreae is a dream come true. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional, and at the same time actually took the time to have a conversation with me about my dog. When I handed her a two inch pile of records, she simply smiled and said, "I have a lot of reading to do." She was gentle and thorough during the examination, and is continuing to help me explore options with a very complicated situation. She returns calls in a timely manner, and test results were communicated to me in detail as soon as they came in. All I can say is I feel 100% better that my pet will be well taken care of.

Crossing Speer from Clay was a little terrifying but worth it! Got a same day appt for the baby girl and they were quick and efficient.They have banners in the parking lot with the number to call when you arrive, and after you're triaged, you drop your pup off in the breeze way and then they take them back. I waited in the lot during her appt and she was out in just about 10 minutes. Super affordable. Great staff. Go to Urban Vet care.

We only just started going to urban vet care, but have been so happy so far! Dr. Tousley was so kind on the phone (since I couldn't go in to the office due to covid) and addressed all of my concerns seriously and thoughtfully. I had a follow up question the next day that was unrelated to our pup's treatment, and the office responded immediately (with advice from Dr. Sieben since Dr. Tousley was out that day) with a very helpful and thorough response, which I really appreciated, despite how busy I know they must be! We're excited to be regular patients at Urban Vet! My one piece of advice is to call a couple months in advance of routine appts (we went for a pup checkup and vaccines) to schedule appointments, at least if you're a new patient, because they book up quickly and are quite busy!

We've only been there a few times but so far, they have done an excellent job taking care of our two little kitties! Our old vet was ok but after a few friends came to Urban Vet Care, we decided to switch and we are very happy with the decision. One of our kitties had to get dental surgery and the vet who took care of him was friendly, informative, and reassuring as we were a bit nervous about him going under. Everything turned out well! The staff as a whole is friendly and accommodating and the place is clean and welcoming.

It's a nice clean facility, and the staff is very friendly, but I am going to look for a new vet. I moved back to the Denver area about six years ago and started taking my dogs here. They are pretty expensive and the last few years the availability, and quality of care just hasn't been worth the higher cost of this vet. I could go into more detail, but it would be a winded review. I just feel like there has to be a more personal, and better option in the area.

UPDATE: An employee called almost immediately after this post and credited our account for the medicine. They've been great about communicating and now we have our preferred vet back. It was so nice that they were so responsive! Our dog Penny has been seen here for multiple exams, x-rays, a teeth cleaning, etc. and we always had such a good experience. Today, that was not the case. Normally the front desk will itemize your charges and give you a receipt upon payment, and even before that we'd always been explicitly told the cost of every recommendation by the doctor and techs. We were talked into taking home heart worm medicine that our dog has never used in her twelve years. We were never told the price, just given two boxes in a paper bag. When we received the final charges at check out, it seemed a little steep, but we had a few procedures done today, so it sort of added up. However, we weren't given a receipt or description of the charges, just a final amount, and they said we would be emailed the receipt. As we drove away, we finally received the email showing that the heart worm medicine was over half the total cost, and we immediately found it at a much more affordable price online. After calling Urban Vet Care to ask if we could return the items (maybe 10 minutes after leaving), they said they couldn't accept even unopened medicine, and suggested we should have asked ahead of time if we wanted to know. The whole experience felt underhanded, especially since they'd been so transparent in the past. We expressed this concern directly to them, and we did not feel like it was received. For lack of a better term, it seemed like they didn't really care that we felt pushed into a purchase, nor that we were dissatisfied with their communication about it after having so many previous good experiences. If they'd made any concession or admission of error at all, we'd probably return, but as it stands, we'll be looking for a new vet and will no longer be recommending Urban Vet Care to our friends, family, or colleagues.

My husband and I love taking our dog, Layla, to Urban Vet Care because Layla loves going there. The staff is so friendly and make Layla feel comfortable. Layla is a little skittish, but the staff is so good at making her feel comfortable by feeding her treats throughout the visit. When we get to the vet, Layla jumps out of the car pulls me into the building because she's looking forward to lots of treats! The office is also very clean and has nice decor. The only veterinarian we have used is Dr. Andreae and we love her! She is very thorough and great with Layla. She gets down on the floor to do her exam, which is so much better than having to lift Layla onto an exam table (something I have had to do at other vet offices and my dog hated it). I would highly recommend this vet to anyone. My husband and I plan to always use this vet as long as we live anywhere near Denver.

The experience from the get go was amazing. I recently moved downtown from a small town with my cat. He developed a weird cough and I was reluctant to go to a vet. I found that this was super close to my apartment complex. My first experience at this place wasn't that great, but it was the vet who rubbed me the wrong way. I came in with my dog Henry, concerned about him dragging his back legs, and without trying anything else, she told me I needed to get a MRI that costs 10k first, and cut my visit short. I almost didn't come back. I had to go back for my other dog, Tula, and I'm thankful I did. This time, I met with Dr. Sean Lawson. He was kind, smart and offered alternatives for my budget. From that point on, he was the only person I would see, and I highly recommend him as a vet. Both of my dogs were in great care with Dr. Lawson and they both loved going to see him. He gets on the floor with your dog, and just has a gentle, animal loving soul. We recently left Denver to the east coast, and I stopped in for one last check-up with my dogs and felt genuinely sad to leave Urban Vet care. I literally got teary eyed, and I'm typically not that emotional. It says a lot. They price match pet meds, the front desk staff are so nice and caring, and the service they provide is amazing.

Appointment booking is easy, there's hardly ever a wait, and the vet's that I've seen have always been helpful in answering my questions. My only complaint is the cost of certain services. They quoted me $900 for a tooth extraction surgery for my cat. I went to another clinic 30 minutes away and they did it for under $300 the same day. UVC is definitely pricey, but they were super close to my house & I've always been happy with the way that they took care of my cat. If you have the money, it's a great place with great service.

I was even there for my cat during a storm - lights went out due to weather. Nonetheless, the circumstances didn't phase them or their ability. Urban Vet was dedicated to treating my cat so they used natural lighting & flashlights going above and beyond to help my cat. Folks like these give you a sense of place and community. Their actions show they are more than ready to help to their full ability and they are passionate about their mission for our pets. We love our vet! Dr. White and the rest of the team are always super attentive and thorough. My dog actually likes coming here and they even contacted our previous vet and got all of her records before her first visit which made my life easier. The only thing is that they close at noon on Saturdays and are closed Sunday, however, they're usually open until 7pm during the work week. With that, I would just suggest you know where your nearest 24 hour emergency veterinary hospital is (they'll happily help you with this, too!) I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great vet in the area.

*****Updating Review: I am adjusting my rating due to my opinion that they aren't truly specializing in cats with complicated issues. My cat had been losing weight/ sick for months after put on a Veterinary RX Royal Canine Diet (see reviews on their Urinary food since Jan LOTS of cats having issues due to formula change [not UVC fault]) and while they were great at getting the abdominal ultrasound scheduled/ done, they advised the next step could have been exploratory surgery. I then took my cat to obtain a 2nd opinion that said that exploratory surgery is not needed and first line is to treat as IBD. Additionally, he was not treated for a UTI at Urban Vet care that he tested positive for the bacteria in Jan, March and April, at UVC, while 2nd Vet immediately treated him, as it could have been making him systematically ill. Pros- Large practice able to see you quickly, I'm guessing good w/dogs Cons- Maybe in depth feline care/ diagnosis go else where." ***** Thank you I feel very confident and pleased with Urban Vet Care! After a trip to the ER vet for my cat, I needed to follow up with a Vet close to me. I've seen 3 different vets here (Dr. Rooker, Dr. Luplow, Dr. Tousley) and they were all SO wonderful. They keep REALLY good records in their system, so they know what *has* been going on with your pet . If you are like me, when your pet is sick you turn into mama bear and want the BEST. Every time I've called the front desk has been SO AMAZING. I feel like they are a) listening to what you are saying b) get back to you in a timely manner. My kitty is currently going thru some health issues but I believe between myself and Urban Vet Care, we won't let anything bad happen to him ~ like working as a team. I felt like they care, but also didn't over encourage pricey tests or unnecessary things. Thru Covid-19, thank goodness they are still here and open to care for our pets . Thank you guys for staying open, I know it's been hard but I feel better knowing my cat still has someplace to turn if he is sick! Ps- Honestly their prices aren't bad... I mean considering , I mean do you or I , know how to run a blood panel on your cat or dog? Didn't think so! :) See we need the experts!!

After checking my cat in, the vet on duty quickly came to me and told me his brain was shutting down and offered to humanely euthanize him. I had noticed them on a bike ride as they are super close to my home, and upon seeing the good reviews here I thought I'd give them a try the next time something came up. This morning I woke up to find that one of my cats had gotten into a fight with something awful last night. They were able to book me same day, and called my previous vet for records. Clean facility, friendly atmosphere. Three different people worked with me, none of them were rushed and I felt they genuinely cared for us. Vet techs seemed unconcerned with our questions because our pet “is just a cat”. Not a phrase you expect to hear from your new vet. Also, not a fan of how injections are given because the vet techs take the animal out of the room we’re in - we aren’t able to watch the vet give our pet the various vaccines. I’ve never encountered this before. This vet will make room for your pet in cases of emergencies which is comforting!

Our dog has had multiple issues from hip dysplasia requiring an FHO, "happy tail" syndrome, a cut paw and an infection- Urban Vet has diagnosed him accurately every time and given us great referrals for specialists. We've seen multiple vets at the clinic and really like them all. The vet techs are really helpful and sweet with our dog as well. While it may be a little overpriced and our wait times are a little more than I would like sometimes, we will continue to bring our dog here because of the great care he receives from everyone.

Very nice vet to bring your pets to. Probably the cleanest and one of the more professional places I've encountered. The place I was taking my dog too before was a little cheaper, but I can assure you if this place is more expensive it's worth it. I still thought it was pretty reasonable. An annual wellness checkup, multiple vaccinations, anal gland removal and I think one other thing was $150. Even though I didn't answer, they were thoughtful enough to call the next day and check in on my pup. I really only went to this place because I literally live next door. But whenever I move even if it's out of my way, I will continue to bring my dog here.

In my bad experience the vet recommended a specific date for a specific vaccine but when we arrived at the appt we were told our pup was too young for the vaccine. I had to go in back to see my dog once, and while i was back there they were inserting an IV into another dog. We have been taking out puppy there since we got him (so about a year now). The vets we have seen there have been awesome and you can really tell they love working with animals. No one could tell my why I should pay 2 times as much for theirs other than the fact it's the one they carry same with heartworm medication. My experience at UVC was bittersweet as after bringing my dog in for what I thought was a hurt paw, Dr. Sean found a tumor on his spine. Sadly, I had to say goodbye to my best friend of 14 1/2 years. Dr. Sean helped me through my options in a sympathetic manner...and assured me that my choice was the right one. I was followed up with at home. The euthanasia was completed in a private, comfortable living-room like setting where I was cuddled with my dog on the couch. Dr. Sean was so calming, respectful, and explanatory through the process. Our dog has likely had thyroid issues for at least a year. We went to two other vets - one of whom said that Max was simply getting old and that's why he was loosing his hair and one other that simply did a thyroid test and put him on meds - which seemed to accelerate the hair loss. We finally went to Urban Vet Care and they solved the problem - thyroid and a skin infection, which required antibiotics. Max's hair came back better than ever AND he now has the energy of a pup - even though he's 11. Amy Rupp is fantastic and takes the time to talk with you about various options and possible issues. When the animal hospital wanted to do an invasive surgery just to rule out cancer, and it would have made it impossible for her to hike anymore, urban vet did a minimally invasive procedure and her recovery was very fast and she is still climbing mountains with me.

I can barely remember my own doctor's name, but I know Dr. Rupp's name by heart. She is an excellent diagnostician that diagnosed and treated Cushing's disease and hypothroidism along with a slew of related complications in my older dog for a few years before he finally passed. She and her staff got to be very familiar to me and I could tell they truly cared about Toby and wanted to be sure that I was educated on his condition and treatment options. I'm not confident that your average vet would have been able to diagnose and treat my dog as quickly and confidently as Dr. Rupp did when the disease presented itself.

I like to ask lots of questions in general, the staff was great at answering them or asking the Doc when they didn't know the answer, instead of giving a vague, overly technical B.S. answer to confuse and boost image. Even with my barrage of questions there were only 2 they didn't know but I still walked out with the answer. Building is clean, everything looked top grade. Best of all, they can work with you on the price if you need some help.
