Dr. Andy and staff at Center for Animal Wellness go above and beyond to take care of your pet and help you as the owner feel comfortable. Dental cleaning on my chihuahua, Milo went smoothly and I was kept in the loop the entire time. I’ve never had a veterinarian spend so much time explaining the process and truly making sure I felt taken care of as well. Have definitely found our new vet. Thanks Dr. Andy!

It’s important to have a reliable and trustworthy Vet who you can feel comfortable with for your best friend. The center for animal wellness has been there for Moose and I since he was just a puppy, to when he got really sick. It’s a testament to the quality of care that even though this Vet chopped his berries off, he still wags his tail and smiles every time we go in for his annual exam. They are literally the best Vet in town. 5 stars.

Dr. Courtney Turner is amazing! She explain everything in detail so we fully understood our dogs surgery. She listened to our concerns and talked us through those. She did a great job with Violet and she and her staff were wonderful about communicating and checking in with us through the first few days post surgery. Dr. Jeanne and the staff at Center For Animal Wellness are the most caring, accommodating, and efficient team I've experienced. Our senior cat has had some serious medical issues for the past few years, and Dr. Jeanne's constant guidance and support has literally saved her life (and majorly decreased her owners' stress!) As with many pet owners, we feel like our cats are our children, and I think this is the best place in Denver for their care.

I took my dog there for wellness and vaccines. Dr Andy is always so nice and gentle and did a thorough exam and then the team administered her vaccines. They were on time and the price for treatment was reasonable. Dr Andy answered my questions and gave me some advice on caring for her teeth it was a positive experience.

I love this place. If you are looking for a location where they really care about your animal (I have dogs) I have not been anyplace better. I have been seeing Dr. Andy for the care of my animals for more than 20 years. Unfortunately I travel a lot, so I have had to get my girls treated all around the country. These guys are a definite standout. I have seen a lot of Dr. Bleakley as well lately (Damn Dr. Andy is just too popular now and I can never get in), but now that I have more experience with Dr. Bleakley she is just as fabulous. They will take calls about concerns between appointments and get back to you with recommendations possibly saving you a trip in. They work well with my pets cardiologist to make sure treatments coincide with what is going on with her overall health. When I had to go to Hawaii they helped me with all the logistics of titers and import paperwork. Before crossing the border to Mexico they would make sure I was on all of the correct pest control meds (takes flea and tick to an entirely different level) and all the vet checks I needed were taken care of. I started years ago with my german shepherds. Now they take fabulous care of my two little schnoodles. They are wonderful from the people running the front desk (and I love that they have a few so you are never stuck in voice mail limbo) to the techs, to the veterinarians. I highly recommend them (although I would like to keep them as my secret so that I could get into see my vet whenever I wanted to).

We have really enjoyed working with the vets at this clinic for the past three years. Dr. Carolyn Karr was our vet for a long time, we are sad she is leaving this clinic (But its great she is going to do more animal charity work!!). What we loved about this group is that we have never felt pressured to purchase expensive testing or medicines, they have been able to work within our budget and within reason. For example, when our puppy got a UTI, we suspected it was a UTI, and the vet on call also suspected this, but could not give us a certain diagnosis without testing. Obviously, the standard of care is to test for the problem in order to proceed with the correct diagnosis and the correct treatment. At the time, our budget was tight and we opted not to get her tested (also based on our common sense knowledge and understanding her behavior, we were pretty certain we knew the problem). The vet was understanding and willing to work with us and our limitations he helped to prescribe the necessary medication to resolve the UTI without the extra testing, and gave us tips on what to look for if it was not a UTI. This group is great, we could not speak higher for their realistic and sensible approach to medical care for pets, as well as their compassion. We love the Center for Animal Wellness.

We have a 1.5 year old Bernese Mountain Dog and have been going to this facility since we got him at 2 months old. I love everything about this facility and every vet assistant and doctor we have interacted with here. Everyone is so kind, caring and very well educated. We typically see Dr. Courtney but just saw Dr. Andy for an urgent appointment. Both are amazing doctors that are extremely thorough with their explanations and really help you to understand your pet's condition and educate you on the decisions you can make. I could not be happier with the experiences we've had and the care we've received. They are honest and have extremely reasonable prices for the high level of care they are giving.

Attentive and friendly staff. My cat Logan is in terrific hands here! Dr Courtney and her Team are not only knowledgeable and fully trained, but they are warm and very efficient. Logan’s annual checkups and dental cleaning have gone well and we have been able to take preventative care in order for Logan to live a full, healthy life. I adopted him at 4 years old from the shelter. I’ve learned a great deal about cats and he is a terrific companion! Very tight parking here at the center. Take note!

I cannot say enough to express how absolutely amazing this place is! From the front desk, to the Doctors (Dr. Karrh in particular). Today was my first visit, and I was completely blown away at how friendly, helpful, and accommodating everyone was. Dr. Karrh had been my regular vet several years ago, and after getting a new puppy after a three year hiatus, I was very happy to have found her here, and so close to home to boot! I found that she is still the most caring, compassionate, and professional veterinarian l have ever had the pleasure of having treat my fur babies over the years. I have been going to the CAW for over a year now as my vet, Dr. Hill moved there from CityPets. I like the entire staff here and they are very responsive and efficient when I need something. My dog Maxine has a few chronic health issues and CAW has been available for immediate help when I have needed something. As far as value, the costs here are in line with most other Denver vets I have used. I highly recommend the Center for Animal Wellness. I am updating this review on Jan 12, 2023. I recently moved back to California and Maxine had a newish health issue. I had trouble finding a good and responsive veterinarian there. So when I had to come back to Denver for business, I brought Maxine back to TCAW and Dr Jeanne. OMG, she is so helpful, thorough and caring. She researched Maxine's condition and gave me many good ideas for continuing her care back in Santa Barbara. I begged her to move there so Maxine could continue with her. I have 30 years of experience with animal hospitals and in my opinion this one is the best I have dealt with so far. All the staff and doctors are excellent!!

My cat was having trouble a few years ago, he was only four and wouldn’t get off the bed, was barely eating and seemed really hot with a fever. I took him into The Center and the vet looked him over and called me an hour later, saying my cat needed emergency surgery and without it would most likely not make it past 48 hours. He had a nasal fistula, where the sinus cavity gets a hole in it that connects to the mouth. All of this to say — my cat is doing amazing now, he made a full recovery, and The Center’s vet gave me a call as soon as he finished the surgery to let me know how it went; he was so caring and answered all of my questions. They even trimmed down and cleaned up my cat’s paws while he was still under from surgery to really go the extra mile. I am so grateful for The Center and all they do, they send regular emails and they are so friendly and transparent, I would recommend everyone there. Thanks to The Center, I still have my cat today, alive & well!

From the receptionist who pays attention to you and ensures your pet safety, to the tech who personalizes her interaction with your fur baby (including cleaning up and apologizing for the unfortunate accident a frightened pet may have), to the Vet who practices with knowledge, patience and obvious affection this is the place to take your fur babies.

I love, love, love them! I’ve never had a vet take as much time as Dr. Andy does to explain everything and answer questions. I honestly love that after the exam he sits on the floor with the dog/cat to pet/play with them. My pets have been through a lot and their entire team has always been there. Last year Dr. Andy and staff dropped everything they were doing to make my cat’s emergency the priority of *every* staff member. Without their fast and hard work, my cat wouldn’t be here. An office’s quality is created by the entire staff, and theirs is amazing. Their front staff is always so helpful, super quick to respond, and so sweet! Their techs/assists are so great and helpful! We have been going to see Dr. Courtney for all three of our pups for years now. She has helped us through so many hoops and issues, and it’s so clear that she cares deeply about animals. Most important, Dr. Courtney and her staff know how to communicate superbly. We now live in Europe (and Dr. Courtney helped us immensely with the EU pet travel certificates we needed) and wish we could teleport ourselves to Denver for our pets’ care, but we are so thankful for the time we did have with her as our vet! The Center for Animal Wellness is the best. Having moved a lot and been to several vets with my cat, TCAW is easily the most thorough, kind, and caring. I’ve never had a vet sit with me for a full 20 minutes to explain my pet’s diagnosis and offer all the options. They really want to make sure both the humans and animals have a positive experience. They are also very transparent with pricing and affordable compared to other vets I’ve been to. My cat and dog have both had surgery here as well and it’s been a great experience.

Just before Christmas 2020, my cat was very lethargic and starting throwing up every time after she ate. We didn't know what was wrong with her and were very worried. We took her to the Center for Animal Wellness and they diagnosed her with kidney problems and put her on a renal diet. Since then, she stopped throwing up and has more energy than she did before she was sick. I am incredibly grateful to TCAW for helping my cat feel better and for giving me more time with her.

The Center for Animal Wellness was a wonderful place to take my dog. Not only were we new clients during Covid, but the staff was excellent throughout everything. My elderly pup was very ill and I ended up having to have her euthanized. However, I was incredibly grateful for the entire staff's compassion and grade A care they gave not only her, but also us. I was able to be with her during the euthanization process and the staff was wonderful. They explained each step carefully and made me feel at ease. Even when I went to pick up Maggie's ashes post cremation, the staff had all signed a letter regarding her passing. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone in need.

I took my cats here for the first time 2 years ago based on their reviews after trying 3 other vet clinics in Denver, and I am so glad that I did. Dr. Courtney is the only vet we’ve seen here and she is fantastic! She is great with my cats and with me, explaining everything very clearly. The front staff and the vet techs I’ve interacted with have all been very nice, caring, and helpful (shout out to Mindy most recently). I think their rates are similar to other clinics in the area, not drastically higher or lower, but I feel confident that they only suggest procedures that are necessary and will try non invasive solutions first. I highly recommend them!

I’ve taken my rescue here since I brought him home in January 2019. Zeus is actually happy to see Dr Jeanne and Dr Hunter! The ladies at the front desk are equally happy to see Zeus. They have always found time for Zeus in an emergency and provide great on-the-spot advice if I can’t bring him in that day. After having my brother-in-law as my vet for 20 years, I moved to Denver and had to find a new practice. I couldn't be happier with The Center for Animal Wellness. I love Dr. Courtney and Dr. Andy. They listen carefully, ask questions, explain everything carefully, and don't try to up-sell treatments, tests, or products. The techs and staff genuinely care about the animals and their people. TCAW has the most amazing private room for euthanasia. Comfy couch, pillows, soft lighting, and inspirational pictures. There's an inconspicuous peephole in the door so the doctors and techs can keep an eye on you without being intrusive. I've said good-bye two too beloved cats there. They gave me as much time and privacy as I needed. I held both fur babies on my lap, and their passing was gentle and peaceful. It eases my minds knowing it will be there whenever my pets need a graceful good-bye. Their online pharmacy is well-stocked with excellent prices, and quick, free delivery. I recommend them 100%.

I have been taking my cat here for about 4 years and I continue to be very satisficed and impressed with the level of service, often above my expectations. I have worked closely with both doctors and they are equally great. That is one nice thing is you can work with either one and they will coordinate behind the scenes as needed. They are incredibly responsive and multiple times they have called me late into the evening and will talk and help you as long as it takes, that kind of service is hard to find. The rest of the staff has been wonderful also. If I had a dog, I would take it here. Getting an appointment doesn't take long and they accommodate emergencies well. The costs have seemed reasonable also and they tell you what everything will cost up front. Really glad that I found these guys and I highly recommend them!!!!

Really great service. Edit: I have 2 cats and 2 dogs now and they are still great vet. Was my first time taking my cats to a hospital in Denver and decided to go here because of their reviews. Was not disappointed. Dr. Courtney was really nice and asked a lot of questions about what we were concerned about and then she answered all of our questions. Both the cats were obesse so she told us to call her back and tell her what food they were on so she can give us a diet plan. 11/10 recommend this place. PS. They have a nice follow-up too. ;)

I have had two cats treated by Dr. Courtney and through the passing of my cat Mr. Darcy and kitten hood with my cat Tigerlily they have been amazing. The Center For Animal Wellness is the only place I would take my pet in Colorado!

My experience with The Center For Animal Wellness has been the best that I've ever had with a Vet's office. The doctor spent a full hour with my dog during a routine check-up, asking questions, watching closely and feeling for abnormalities. She was so thorough and followed-up directly to discuss lab results and different options for treatment. Though veterinary services are never cheap, they're reasonably priced, and they don't seem to be in the practice of overselling things that your pets don't necessarily need. My dog was battling a bad infection that eventually took his leg. I went through 5 vets before I found this one. Dr. Courtney & Dr. Andy have been so amazing and actually helped discover that my dog never even had an infection but instead, a very rare form of terminal cancer. Our two dogs were always stressed when they saw their vet, until we started going to The Center for Animal Wellness! The staff is incredibly knowledge and so caring. We figured our male dog (he's older, 12 yrs of age) had a bad tooth because he stopped carrying his favorite toy in his mouth. So, I took him in for a check up and they found that he developed a fractured jaw from an infected tooth... Dr. Courtney did his surgery and called me with updates. She was phenomenal! He is now back to carrying his favorite toy around the house. Our female dog (she's the same age... they were litter mates) developed diabetes last December and Dr. Andy has done a few glucose curves on her. He's also excellent! He also explains things very well and he is so genuine. We now live about 35 minutes away from this clinic, but I will continue making the drive because I love ALL of the staff, from the receptionists, to the vet techs (or are they vet nurses?), to the doctors. And, most importantly, our dogs love them, too! (&they are very picky on who they like and dislike!). I cannot say enough wonderful things about The Center for Animal Wellness!

I find it’s a tad bit pricier than some other vets but I believe it is worth the cost because I know that my dog is getting quality care. I brought my dogs because our tiny chihuahua wasn't eating since we introduced a new puppy into the house and because the puppy needed shots and was having some stomach issues. Dr. Andy is as amazing as the reviews mention below! He sat down and went over each dog individually, listened to every issue, and discussed each of the treatment options. I think we were there for about 1.5 hours total for the two dogs. Most vets want to rush you in and out, so they can make more money, but Dr. Andy was compassionate and caring and took his time, so that we were at ease. We brought both of our dogs to a different vet down the street about a week prior, and were sent home thinking everything was ok, but we were wrong. Dr. Andy discovered that our 4 lb chihuahua had a severe heart murmur (5 out of 6 intensity), which was totally missed by the vet down the road. He came down sat down with us and discussed the severity of the issue and talked about all of the options and answered our questions. If it hadn't been for our decision to seek other care, our little girl might not be with us right now. I brought her for an ECG and they confirmed that she has a very severe murmur which is treatable by medication. If advise at a vet or doctor doesn't seem right, go for a second opinion. I'd highly recommend this vet because they are compassionate and thorough.

And during this crazy pandemic, the vets take time to call you and talk you through your pet's appointment.

Our American Bulldog / Rottweiler was told he needed ACL treatment and potentially surgery, after taking him to the Center for Animal Wellness, we tried some join and muscle pills and he's been great and active ever since, saving us thousands of dollars. They're not in it for the money, they truly care about the animals well being. I would recommend the Center to everyone!

But he is always patient and responsive. I have jokingly asked if the Dr. Andy could become my primary care health provider. The Center is awesome. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Courtney! I had called my previous vet, and three other veterinary clinics, just to be told they were booked for the day and they couldn’t fit my Rowdy dog into their schedules. They instructed me to take him to an emergency clinic, they had no other referrals for me. My daughter told me to call The Center For Animal Wellness. As soon as the sweet lady (I wish I remembered her name) answered the phone, I was treated better than I had been treated by any of the staff at the other clinics. Even though she told me that the doctor was in surgery for the day and did not have any other openings. She did say she would talk to the doctor, and get back to me. Shortly after, she called back and told me Dr. Courtney wanted to see Rowdy. I was so relieved because it was a Friday, and I couldn’t go all weekend and not know what was wrong with my little guy. We arrived for our appointment and I called to let them know I was there. They were doing curbside pickup due to COVID. The tech asked me all the necessary questions and really listened to me and my concerns. She then came out and took Rowdy in for his exam. In a few minutes, Dr Courtney called me. She told me what she found when she examined him. With her detailed explanation, she gave me some treatment options. As she explained my options, she made it very clear that she would only do what I was comfortable with. She was very upfront about the cost involved with the different procedures. I felt she really cared about what was going to be the best treatment at the most affordable cost. I felt comfortable that I was making an educated decision and told her what I would like her to do. In no time, Rowdy was back in my arms, ready to go home. He didn’t have any anxiety without me there. They took very good care of him AND me. I want to thank everyone involved with Rowdy’s care. We had a great experience and when the need arises, we will go back to The Center for Animal Wellness!

Amid the Covid era, I found it difficult to find vets willing to take on new clients. But huge cheers to the Center for taking on my two fur babies once we moved to this area. They worked incredibly hard to bridge the communication gap caused by Covid precautions, such as staying in one's car while the techs bring in your animals. The vets called and did a tremendous job introducing themselves, walking through recommendations, and overall showing you how much they care, and how hard they are working to still make building a relationship a priority. I first came to the Center for Animal Wellness after my dog blew her second knee (after a horrible experience at a vet surgery fixing the first knee). Dr Courtney saw some concerning things around my dogs liver values and suggested doing an ultrasound prior to spending the money on a second knee surgery. It ended up that my dog had liver cancer. We decided to make her as comfortable as possible and not put her through either surgeries. Thankfully she is still with us and so happy. She doesn't even hate going to the vet anymore. A month later my brother landed a great job in Chicago. Within the next month, his little and aging Yorker died while in my care. He explains absolutely everything, never, ever pressures me into a medicine or procedure, and always works with me to come up with the best compromise if necessary . Yep, there's a little traffic to deal with to get there, but I've never found it a hassle. .... and is far outweighed by the expert care and excellent doctoring and personal touch you get.

I have taken my fur baby Loki here since we adopted him. We got our first visit free as a thank you for rescuing instead of shopping which was awesome. Since then we have been in more times than I can tell you - our Loki is a sock aficionado and has allergies that manifest as hot spots in a number of places, among other things - and they have been amazing every time. They know exactly who we are even when we call, and always get excited to see Loki when we come in. I also have never felt like they did anything just to charge us some extra fees - they don't care if we bring him in or not so long as we're doing what is going to make him happy and healthy. Additionally, they recommended our current Pet Insurance provider and have always been good about submitting our claims in a timely fashion to make sure we get our refunds fast (if you don't have pet insurance and have a puppy, I HIGHLY suggest you sign up, it has paid for itself and then some!). I will never use another vet in Denver if I can avoid it and would unequivocally recommend this practice to anyone.

Absolute best vet I've ever taken a pet to. 7 years ago my new puppy got very sick. I didn't have time to make an appointment, she was literally limp in my arms. I went to THREE other clinics first (with a limp unconscious puppy in my arms) who turned me away because they were busy. When I got to The Center for Animal Wellness they rushed me into a quarantined room and a vet saw us within minutes, but the real differentiator for me was that the vet sat on the floor with us and made sure my puppy was completely ok before letting us leave. That level of compassion has never changed and I have never taken a pet anywhere else since then. I don't even live nearby anymore, but I make the drive when I need to because my pets are my family and no one cares for them better than the people at this clinic.

We saw Dr. Courtney and her staff and they were absolutely AMAZING! We explained what happened at Petco and that we were unable to touch his paws since. Dr. Courtney spent 20 minutes talking about our dog's health and then her staff took our dog in the back, gave him a Kong full of peanut butter while they cut his nails and he did not care! If you need an amazing vet and office in the downtown area, I recommend this clinic. Everyone in the medical department was beyond all my expectations. They were thorough, informative, gentle, and kind. Our dog had to have emergency surgery while we were traveling in the area, and after we left town the following week, the desk staff refused to fill our prescriptions. We were forced to get the same, still current, prescriptions from an emergency vet. This happened on three separate occasions, resulting in our dogs running out of both prescription food and long term medicines, as well as leaving us with more unplanned vet bills to get new versions of our still-current prescriptions. We had talked all of this through with the doctor before we left and were assured that we would be able to get our prescriptions filled, which leads me to believe that the front desk staff just continually denied our prescriptions without consulting the doctor. If I had a direct line to the doctor and could bypass the combative front desk staff, this would've been a five-star experience, but it ended up being a big headache and lots of unnecessary expense.

I also have a cat, and Dr. Andy shows genuine care for all 3 of our pets, and takes the time to explain what is going on with who. This vet clinic has been amazing for the past 5 years I've been going there since having my dog as a rescued puppy. They have always been super sweet and caring towards my dog and anytime I've had to go in for ear infection issues or allergic reaction "emergency" visits day of, or surgery, they always know how to treat my dog efficiently and quickly and have always eased my mind when I've been worried about an issue. The center is also located super close to the Starbucks drive thru on Speer, so it makes it easy to grab a coffee and for your dog a little "pupachino" whip cream treat after a vet visit. I've referred many friends in town to use the clinic for their new pets and will continue to go to them as long as I live in Colorado.

Staff was friendly and professional. I Understand there is the current C-19 crisis that is affecting how businesses operate at this time, which is creating a strain on the staff as well as the clients, but it is still strange not being able to communicate directly (in-person) with the doctors regarding the medical issues with their pets. Trying to communicate over the phone with the doctor does not always provide the best diagnosis and course of treatment for the animal, and also creates stress and confusion with the animal, when the owner is not present. The animal's stress will always exist when the owner is not there, but perhaps using video conferencing (i.e. facetime, Zoom) to communicate. Perhaps consider allowing the owner access to the examination room only (no sitting in waiting room) once the examination is ready to begin, with protective mask and gloves, keeping 2m required space between Dr. and owner, and limited touch points, while in the facility?

This place is nice and reasonably priced. However, they have very short hours. Only open till 5pm, and I’ve had to rush my cat to a different vets office when I’ve had little scares. I was also told I couldn’t get my cats meds if he didn’t come for a check up but he’d already been to a vet open till 7pm. In the end a great place if you can take half a day off just for a vet visit, not all of us are that lucky.

Recently started taking my dog here. Love the doctors and staff here. However I feel the office nickel and dimes you. I fill my heartworm prevention over the internet (cause it's much cheaper than getting at the vet, who wouldn't?) and they charge you $10 to write the Rx. Ridiculous considering all dogs have to be on this med once passing a worm test free and clear. If they'd just make the prevention med more cheaper I would buy it from them. They also charge $20 for an "exam" before giving my dog an update on vaccines. Normal, except my dog just had a full comprehensive exam there within 30 days before that? I just feel they have lots of unnecessary charges.

Mr.Cheeks here- I'm the one who had the appointment so I am the one giving the review! I LOOOOOOOOVE The Center for Animal Wellness and every one loves me right back. Let me tell you about my annual wellness exam: Mom said it was time for a check up and a vaccine so she packed me up with my favorite blankie and away we went. Well folks, turns out I get a little car sick and it got messy- fast. Not too worry, as soon I arrived Mindy and Ruth helped get me cleaned up and get my carrier ready for my ride home. I watched some fish in the tank for a minute and then it was time for my appointment. Ya'll- they had toys and treats waiting for me! I was allowed to play a little, roll in some catnip and enjoy a snack before my exam. Now I really don't know what an "exam" is cuz when Dr. Courtney came in the room she spent a lot of time petting me all over, admiring my paws, checking out my magnificent furry belly, looking at my wonderful green eyes and she told me I was handsome a bunch of times. If that is an "exam" that was really easy! Here's where it got real: turns out I am a chubby cat and I need some dental work. I'm not gonna lie- it hurt my feelings a little but Dr. Courtney is my friend and friends tell each other the truth. So now I'm on a diet (lame- my belly is MAGNIFICENT) and Mom upped the toothbrushing until I can get in for a cleaning (also lame). Then I got a shot- or so Mom says cuz I was so busy eating treats I didn't even know it happened. If you guys are looking for a place that cares about their kitties and keeping them happy and stress-free during their visits, this is the place! 2 unopposable thumbs up from this ginger cat!
