I was so impressed with the staff. Their kindness was palpable!! It was refreshing and I felt so safe and confident bringing my cat there to get spayed. Thankful for this service, the gentle caring energy, and the quality of care. My cat is healthy and doing great after the procedure. So thankful. It's not everyday you meet good people. They were good people and it was a good experience.

Walked in and they were available to see my cat, they did a physical exam/ checkup, listened to all of my concerns and his symptoms. They were kind and very informative, I left with very affordable medicines, instructions for the medicine, and a few informative sheets they printed out for me to read up on. My cat usually hates the veterinarian & comes home anxious, the vet techs were so loving and friendly he was way more comfortable than he usually is at the vet. This is a great low cost clinic, and when I can; I look forward to donating to them to pay it forward 💛 I recommend this clinic to anyone who doesn’t have the extra finances but cares deeply for their pet.

I took my cat to the clinic because he was having some urinary issues. They were able to get me an appointment as a walk in (but I was there at 6:50a to ensure being seen) for that same day. To be safe, they kept my cat for the day on liquids to see some kidney levels drop. The vet and nurses were all very attentive and lovely. Pete was returned in good working order and prescribed special food for his urinary health. The visit was low cost and they offer payment plans if you can't cover the whole cost of treatment immediately. Highly recommend this clinic.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place. I took my dog here about 2 weeks ago, they were over the top with his care and so nice! I was constantly kept in the loop with everything that was going on, the communication and compassion at DFL is incredible. Had a terrible experience the first time at their new location. Incompetent technician was one, phones not reaching was two and three they take your pet out of the exam room where you sit and take it to a vet instead of vet coming to you. The second time was better. After I voiced my dissatisfaction, the manager on duty made things right. I hope they will continue to improve. Beautiful facility though. Very modern, super clean and bright.

They are great I was calling to find out how much it would cost to have my cat put down because the vet wanted so much money to pull some teeth they made an appointment for me right away and within 2 weeks her teeth were taken care of and they are working with me on 1/2 of what the vet wanted, they saved her life, much love!!!!

Low income folks welcome at this first-come-first-served clinic. If you can afford vet care for your companion, please consult one of the excellent veterinarians in your area. The care we received was prompt, courteous, thorough and professional. They worked out a payment plan with me as well. My rescue kitty is on the mend with a good prognosis.

I always recommend them. This hospital literally saved my dogs life a few years ago. She had a really bad case of “happy tail” with an infection that kept spreading further down. Without question they did surgery THAT DAY and allowed me to take my baby home with the medicine she needed. And they work with everyone as far as payment is concerned. The staff here are absolutely amazing. We first took izzy here for a surgery another vet said she needed after an 30 min exam. The staff at Dumb friends league spent over 2 hours finding the problem which wasn't what we were original told. We ended up having to put our baby out of pain and to rest I commend the staff here for the kindness, empathy and for loving on our Izzy the whole time. You all are truly amazing. We just also received a card from your staff, I have never known another facility like this one. From the bottom of our hearts. Thankyou

I have been relying on DDFL for my dog's dental work for a while. They have always done an excellent job and are extremely caring and compassionate. They fulfill a need that many rescue organizations don't understand yet--it's not just about adopting, but caring for your pet long-term. It's sad that so many a returning pets to the shelter because of astronomical costs these days for vet care. I work in healthcare and it's sad enough to see humans denied care, little own the animal companions that help us out in these difficult days. Without DDFL, my half-Chihuahua dog that is sweet, but prone to dental issues, would be reducing my own food and expense intake because I live paycheck to paycheck having also returned to school part-time. If my dog could speak, he would be really grateful and giving you five stars as well! I like the whole educational aspect also...and the fact that you also take care of horses. Dexter, our vet tech, as amazing and explained everything to our satisfaction with hospitality, professionalism, and respect. Thank you so much DDFL, for helping us to keep our loving dog healthy and happy! I hope that your work will continue!

A week ago, we realized our dog, Sully, had a cracked tooth. Unsure how we would be able to afford care for him, I called Solutions to ask about the procedure for bringing him in. I was told to make sure I was there before 7 am, to call the number and wait for someone to answer - DO NOT hang up and call back! Stay on the line and wait for someone. There are three extensions you can call, and I used the second one. Someone picked up immediately and within about 30 minutes, I was able to get Sully in the building - he was happy to go in with them and was still happy when he emerged a couple of hours later. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly kind and professional. To be clear - we were prepared to sit in our car all day if that was what was necessary. For us, it was about a 30 minute drive to and from the hospital. All of the time we spent was worth it for the quality and cost of care. Not only are their prices low, they also offer a payment plan for those of us who are struggling. Sully ended up needing surgery, so we went back yesterday for that. Again, everyone was wonderful. They took great care of our furry family member who is still not happy to have a cone around his neck, but he's eating, drinking and wagging his tail. We are so grateful that this resource exists and we are forever thankful you were there to take care of Sully.

This facility was clean and the animals actually had room to move around.. A far cry from the sad cramped metal cages from every state run shelter I've been in. The adoption process was easy and our kitten from a feral community was well-adjusted and fit right in with our young daughter and 2 older cats.

My experience at the DDFL CSU Spur was absolutely amazing. I called this morning totally distraught trying to get my dog in asap for a problem that arose overnight. The woman, Emily D., At the front desk who spoke to me on the phone was INCREDIBLY kind and helpful. I seriously cannot express how much that mattered when I was so stressed and worried over my pup. I was able to be squeezed in and the veterinarian Dr. Redd and her assistant also showed me and my dog great compassion and kindness. They explained everything and further told me the costs of each thing, before having me go through with it which was very much appreciated. The costs of everything were extremely reasonable and came as a great relief, as that was my greatest concern besides making sure my dog was okay. I seriously cannot commend this place enough for the amazing service and low costs, I am so grateful.

I brought Rufus here because money is a little more than tight at the moment. Rufus had already seen another vet who was nice enough to give us a recommendation to PetAid. I didn't know what to expect as Yelp had horrible reviews. People didn't seem to be happy with the service/prices here and I was apprehensive about the quality of care Rufus was about to receive. I'd made an appointment for a specific procedure and when I showed up the front desk employees didn't seem to have any record of it, which was quite annoying. They said they would see us - and they did - but it was about an hour later. While waiting a woman with a puppy said she'd never bring her pet there again, that PetAid had misled her which seemed to be the popular opinion over on Yelp. I have to assume she didn't understand the process because Rufus and didn't have a problem. A vet tech took us to an exam room and then had me wait while she took Rufus into 'the back'. I wasn't happy about him being beyond my line-of-sight and paced anxiously until the doctor came to see me about his situation. They didn't perform the procedure but rather they ran an entirely new exam with tests. When I asked why they said they couldn't perform the procedure they said it was policy to run their own tests first, which made sense. Everyone everywhere wants to run their own diagnosis. The prognosis wasn't good: lymphoma. The veterinarian gave me treatment options, answered all of my questions and seemed to be very concerned with both Rufus and myself. She followed up with us when she said she would and called in a prescription in a very appropriate amount of time. My only complaints are the lost reservation, Rufus being taken away from me and the exam room needed a good scrubbing (dust was everywhere). Would I return if needed? Definitely. Rufus doesn't have long left in this world so it may be a while before I return, but I will definitely keep PetAid in my contacts.

I am thankful for the moment you informed me of Zeus' diagnosis, to the moment you explained how the process was going to happen. You were kind and humble. You gave me time to think and decide, and when the moment came to let him go, you remained kind and compassionate. Thank you for allowing us to cry, for not minimizing our pain, and for letting us hold Zeus for as long as we could. Zeus was part of our daily lives, from the moment we woke up, to the moment we went to bed. He watched over us, and was our most loyal companion, for almost 11 years. Was in today. I’m not sure how the check in system works since I got there at 640am and it said it was full, yet the window says phone check in starts at 7. But I did get the last spot of 3 on the standby appointments. They say you need to be in the parking lot when they call and just say they will call before 10am. I was only there until about 7:50am when they called and got me in for a 10:30 appointment! I was so relieved, plus then I was able to leave and come back for it rather than wait. When I got there everyone was very nice and made you feel welcomed and cared about. They did not make me to a fecal test like most other vets wanted and suggested a test for Parvo that no one else had mentioned doing. Turns out my pup has a parasite and a positive parvo test. They also checked with me before doing the test, telling me the price and making sure I was okay with it. The exam visit is $25 and then that, the parvo test and two small medications sent me out the door with a bill of only $73. The other vet I got into was going to be $150 for just the exam and fecal test alone. I’m so thankful to have this resource being a student living in financial aid. I would highly recommend DDFL for people who need the services and can’t afford a typical vet. You do not get subpar service and it made getting up so early worth it!

The opportunity to receive low cost pet care is life saving, literally for many animals. Here’s a few tips I would like to share for those who have never been. 1. If your animal is older, or has underlying health conditions, they may not operate because they are high risk and the subsidized care is only for normal candidates. 2. Get there early to be seen early for the walk in, I was there at 5:45 AM and 4th in line. I was seen at 7:40 AM. 3. Be prepared. The vet I spoke to was very nice, but stern, they recommended euthanasia when there was an 150$ cost for a visit and my cat was older. I ran the tests so my cat would have a chance. And ended up taking to my own vet for care. And lastly, 4, they do not do overnight care- if you need to have a pet in overnight care you have to go to a emergency 24 hour hospital…I was quoted the DFL discounted $500-650 for one day and night of care. So keep in mind for your budget. Overall, this place has a great purpose and unfortunately my kitty was too old and sick to receive care at. I would go again if needed. However I would prefer to keep my cat in their known clinic as the environment is VERY high stress, my cat came out in a lot worse shape then I dropped him off. Poor guy. Looking back, had I known the surgery clause about age and underlying conditions I would not have brought him as I could have guessed he would not be a candidate. Also for reference, my vet charged $2500 (+500-650 for overnight care) for the needed surgery for stone removal in the stomach and pu surgery. DFL quoted $1050 (+500-650 for overnight care) Significant savings.

They were so wonderful with my kitty. I'm so thankful for their services, as I'm disabled and on a fixed income. I don't know where I would have gone if they weren't here. Everyone I interacted with on staff was wonderful. They were so understanding that my kitty is my ESA, as I'm autstic, and she's extremely important to me. The vet tech very clearly explained the medication to me and made sure I understood it before we left, where other places I've been they rush you through it and I get confused.

What a wonderful place!! We took our cat in thinking it was going to be in and out. Sadly, this wasn't the case. I am so grateful for this clinic. The doctor and staff showed my cat compassion, and kept her comfortable until we could say our goodbyes. After she left, the doctor called us to let us know that she had passed peacefully. I can't say enough good things about this place!! It's comforting to know, that there are better alternatives for an animal to be treated with care and respect, and it doesn't cost you a million dollars either. I would suggest that everyone that has an animal, to take them to your nearest Denver Dumb Friends League!!! ♥️

I had a really great experience with a consultation on a large mass/ lump removal. The logistics were a little tricky to get there so early in the morning..but the care and knowledge by the vet/ student was as good if not better than a previous vet i had seen.

They did an amazing job! Out cat broke his shoulder and had to have an amputation The surgeon and other doctors were very helpful. They made me feel very much more at ease about how he would have a normal life even after losing a limb. When we came to pick him up and get his medication both the surgeons and surgeon came out and greeted us. It was really nice to meet the people behind the surgery. They also helped explain the medications and how to give them when to give them perfectly. Our baby is doing amazing and has already been run around his pen. We've actually had to MacGyver it a bit so he can't escape he is now gained the nickname of who do you need the three-legged escapee. We can't wait to bring him in in about a week to get the staples removed and are so ready to get back to letting him have a normal life. Thank you to the entire team at dumb Friends League you all are amazing and I've been recommending you to all of my friends.

I’d give the scheduler at Yuma street 2 stars for poor listening skills and lack of communication. Only giving 5 stars for the phenomenal staff at the CSU Spurs teaching clinic on National Western Drive. Angela, Karla Dr. Schaffield and Dr. Rhodes were incredibly attentive , efficient, thorough. Their communication was incredible and they had so much compassion for our situation. Dr. Schaffield referred us to the clinic from an Urgent care for more affordable treatment. Dr.Schaffield did all that she could with in our means and communicated with us the entire time. Dr. Rhodes had us in and out in less then 2 hours after multiple tests and multiple Drs taking a look at her. We had more information leaving after a short trip then we did at the previous place we went to for 4hrs. My dog is naturally anxious and she LOVED all of them. She tried multiple times to go back with the techs when they would come in and give us updates. They went above and beyond and I really am grateful for that.

My 11 yr. old black lab had a bad sist on his right upper back. They removed that sist, precribed pain meds for him post surgery. Worked out a payment plan for his surgery & had follow-up appointments. I would have never been able to have his sugery done without them allowing me to make payments. Excellent Veterinary Hospital, one of the best in the Metro if not the State of Colorado.

The staff and vets are amazing. But, the way they run and control their emergency appointments . Is a joke! You show up there at 7:00. Sit on the phone for 40 minutes to an hour. Just waiting for them to answer the phone. Then, IF you get lucky enough. To have your pet seen. You get the pleasure ( said sour castically) of waiting for 3 to 5 hours. To be seen. Usually, you get pushed away. " We aren't seeing anymore pets today. You can take your pet. To another vet. With what? My good looks? This is ridiculous!!! They need to fix this. My dog could loose his sight. In his eye. Do they care! The answer is NO.

Our animal was spayed, chipped, and vaxed here. Wait was long but that's to be expected-so don't complain or be surprised! It's a nonprofit helping all of us with affordability when our animals are in need. Also- since it is so low cost throw them a donation so they can continue their work.

They were very friendly and thorough I thought. Very reasonable priced also I thought. I got blood work, medications, exam and rabies vaccine for $175. Good deal now days. Only bad thing is it's walk in Soo you have to get there early and sign in for your pet to be garaunteed a spot. Small price to pay though for such a cheap price. They also have payment plans as well. Definitely will go back.

Cannot recommend these guys enough! My girl had a bladder stone that needed to be removed, and I was hesitant to spend $1,400 at the vet for a surgery during a pandemic, where things have been so uncertain, despite wanting her to feel so much better. I was referred to Solutions by a stranger I had met and couldn't be happier. They have made the process so simple and have taken a HUGE weight off my shoulders! I got there at 5:45am on Monday, was fourth in line for appointments, was seen within an hour after opening at 7am - surgery was scheduled for that Friday. The payment plans they offer alone are game changers, for anyone who doesn't have the extra money to spend on what a vet would typically charge for the same procedures. Make sure to get there EARLY! But you won't be disappointed :) Thank you guys so much for helping my best friend and I!

This place is definitely needed in the community.. Because it's a no profit,, your vet bills will be substantially lower than other Veterinarians.. They do excellent work,, and always follow up,, to make sure you pet is ok... Because it is a non profit establishment meaning the money's that they receive are All donations ,, when you have an opportunity,,, donate !!! If you have the money to go to a regular vet,, and you come here,,, then You Really Need To Donate,, Keep the ball rolling for others,,, karma !!

I took my 8 week old puppy here after we went to VCA Alameda ER. He was experiencing vomiting, diarrhea and stopped eating food and drinking water and I cannot express how positive our experience was. Although the wait was long it was totally worth it. I took my 5 month old kitten to the solutions cat spay clinic last month. They are so efficient at drop off and pick up, have plenty of staff to assist with your pet to get you in and out quickly. I was so impressed at how tiny the incision was and my cat recovered pretty quickly. I would recommend this clinic to everyone. They do free cat spay/neuter and also give free vaccines at the time of surgery. For dogs I think there is a small fee but they do work with low income clients on payment. Their regular animal hospital located in the same building also does free check ups for pets, and low cost shots. Check the website for more info because they limit the number of people they will see daily and you have to get there early.

It was a little bit of a process to get my baby in, but without them he would have died. No one would help me because I had no credit and refused to do payment plans, but these guys did no questions asked. The staff was very kind and helpful. I pray I never have to bring my dog but here again, but I know if I am ever in trouble they will be there. They did major surgery to get a corn cob out of my dogs intestines. The line does begin to form very early here, but that is to be expected at any low-income vet. The day I took my cat in, July 8th, the location was only taking 7 "clients" that day, so I was in line by 5:30 - and I was 4th in line by then. Once the doors opened the process went a bit faster than most, I dropped my cat off with them, waiting for a phone call. Long story short my cat is an indoor/outdoor cat, who was attacked about July 6th by a wild animal and the back leg that didn't look injured was. Turned out her hip was dislocated. The hospital did a leg/hip salvage surgery on my cat, after calling and receiving permission, and I was still able to get my cat home that same night. The total amount I have to pay is about 10% of the total bill itself. This place was a blessing for me and my cat, who is alive and recovering well 🙏

My pup was in very bad shape. I had gone to an emergency vet late at night and I was unable to get all the help I needed due to finance. I was told to prepare to take my sweet girl home to die since i couldn't afford the surgery. (Mind you, she is only 7 months old) The next morning I went straight to Dumb Friends League. I was comforted and reassured that their service was not about cost, it was about resolution.(their cost was amazingly affordable and they worked out a payment plan for me) My puppy didn't have a certain or even positive prognosis before undergoing surgery but they went above and beyond to figure out the issue and fix it and spay her in the process. They did the surgery even worked with me to sched asap. It cost 500 dollars people!!Not only are they affordable and more than willing to work out a payment plan that works for you, they take walk ins. Be ready to wait if your a walk in and i reccomend being there at 7 or before but if you are there they will see you. They really care about your pet. I helped my client take her dog here and they are wonderful! I have met 1 Vet and 2 nurses. The vet, can't remember her name, was exceptionally nice and caring. She was very professional, yet did not come off as haughty. The best thing about PetAid, if you are low income and can prove it, they will work with you to find a payment plan that works for you. And they don't make you feel less for having to do so. The only con I can think of, and it really is not a con if you need it, is if there are emergencies that come in, you may have to wait for extended periods of time to have your pet seen. Like an ER, the more severe cases usurp your appointment time. Although, out of the 3 times I went there, I only had to wait past my appointment time once. And even then, it was not more than 1 hour. I found if you arrive early, like an hour early, you get seen right away. I definitely recommend, and in fact will take my pets here, if needed.

My little guy Canello needed all of his teeth extracted which would have been almost 2000 dollars at a local vet. This hospital has been providing care for all 4 of my Chihuahua's. They have performed spays, oral surgery and few other minor procedures that involved anesthesia for all of them. I appreciate all they have done for my dogs. The only downside of this place is that it's almost impossible to get them to answer their phones in a timely manner and the front desk isn't always on the same page as the back staff. The facility is pretty clean and the doctors are very nice! As far as the vet techs, some are experienced and others are interns. They have been very affordable for me based off of my income. I would recommend it this place due to wide range of services they provide as well as pricing.

I've taken my pets here for years now. They were extremely helpful when my dog first started having uncontrolled seizures. The cost is great for low income and they also have the free spay/neuter clinic there for cats. Update: I had to make the hard choice to let my dog (Gunner)pass in peace after he failed to recover from a day of hard seizures several days before. The staff was wonderful and helpful. They took me right back to a room as a walk-in. The vet and staff made me feel comfortable and were reassuring of my decision. Thank you to all for making a tragic day a little easier!

What an awesome place for folks who can't afford normal vet fees. They base their fees on a sliding scale which makes them affordable when you've got to take your pet in. They have a lot of volunteers like the person who initially saw my cat. She was a 4th year student at CSU Veterinary School, who works directly under the supervision of a licensed vet. Placed did the job they needed to do after the fact . Long story short Experience was ok front desk ladies were not so nice and didn’t have the sense of urgency I expected for my situation . Price was cheaper but still a lot ! Felt like it was kind of weird I went in there for a dog c section since she was having trouble with labor they wanted to neuter her instead of caring about delivering her pups . Then all the sudden all the puppies died . Sadly I don’t believe it but I have no proof and they didn’t show the ultrasound . But all in all glad my dog is alive and recovering thanks pet aid .

These guys are awesome. They base the cost on your income & although it's not free, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than a regular vet. We saw a 4th year very student from CSU who was very knowledgeable and conferred with a licensed veterinarian before coming up with a plan for my neurotic kitty. The were able to get a blood draw & a urine specimen without any sedation & were so gentle that kitty didn't stop purring. I'm very happy they are available to folks who aren't rich but have pets who need care. Thank you!

Dr. Hergert was so supportive and knowledgeable, it could have been much more of a stressful process with any other veterinary clinic. I had my cat Static put down there a few weeks ago. They were gentle and kind, and I held my cat on my lap as they gave him the injections. I held him through the end. A few days later I received a sympathy card from them. A nice touch. Last week another cat had to have teeth pulled. 8 in all. He seems to be doing just fine. My thanks to PetAid Colorado, though now I believe they're called "Solutions Animal Hospital". They bill you according to what your income is, so it's also affordable too!

It's a great place to take your pets. It's very busy at times. There is a bit of a wait. I don't mind the care my dogs have received has been great. A week ago my dog had been making a honking noise.I looked online to see what to do. I know it's not what we should do. I read that it might be reverse sneezing not a emergency. I let it go. After 2 hours I thought no this is uncomfortable for my pup. I thought oh no another vet bill. I got to Pet Aid with my pup at almost closing time. Of couse when I got there my pup stopped making the honking noise. One of the Vet Techs came out and spoke to me and looked at my pup. The Tech said he looks okay. The Tech said it could be allergies he could be sneezing. She said it's called reversed sneezing. The Tech was right. On the drive home my pup threw up some white junk. Which the Tech said could happe. I gave him half a benadryl and the issue was resolved. I'm so grateful for the advise and not having me spend money that I didn't need to.

They kept me updated on her condition. They took care of the majority of the bill. I was able to bring my cat home and they called me 3 times to ask how she was doing. My Irish Water Spaniel had pyrometeria and was on the verge of death. We had emergency surgery planned for 1st thing the next morning. After i dropped her off the vet called with a quote that was three times what i was told. i tried to apply for an emergency vet care card and was denied. With no way to pay the vet I went to get my dying dog. They referd me to the pet aid and not only was my dog having her surgery within hours they were happy to work out payments with me so I could afford to save her. They were attentive and my dog is happy to be here. A christmas mericle for my clan they literally saved her life! Can't thank them enough...I will recommended them to all my pet friend's!

The wonderful people of PetAid saved the life of my kitty. Period. After eating an entire shoelace (and over a foot of yarn - he's tenacious!), Lloyd needed emergency surgery, which was terrifying... both emotionally and financially. We were blessed enough to receive a referral to PetAid from the hospital we rushed him to after working hours, and even more blessed when the medical director saw that referral and approved him being seen early the next morning. When Noelle, who first met us, took Lloyd back and helped us during our whole ordeal, delivered crushing news about what xrays showed along with possible outcomes, she did so with kindness, a small hug, and a gentle but honest tone. She was the one to call me later that day to let me know Lloyd had made it through surgery and things were going well. She was also the one who helped us the following day when he was ready to come home, with solid post-operation instructions and needed supplies. This gracious person went one step further yet to come with me back to the front desk, with my kitty in tow, to be sure the bill was correct. The difference in pricing from the over-night hospital to PetAid's services was enough to make me want to cry, finally with happy tears. And the best part is that the care given was not sacrificed even remotely - I dare say it was better then we could have possibly hoped for! Lloyd is healing beautifully, meowing at the door convinced he's already ready to come out and play as we speak. He has made a miraculous recovery, no doubt due to the generous and animal-loving hands of all the great people running this special place for our furry little loved ones. I'm beyond grateful for the series of events that lead us to the healing and helping team over at PetAid!

My dog Sunny got diabetes almost 3 years ago now. He has been on human insulin until last month when I had to put him on a new brand just for animals. I also had to purchase new syringes. I'm on a fixed income and the added expense for me has been very hard to deal with. The vet docs were able to get me some syringes and some meds to help him to start eating due to someone else donating. Thanks to whoever did that I wasn't sure how I was going to pay for those last month. I found a place online that sells them for 1/2 of what they want for them here in Colorado and I found the Vetsulin for nearly $15 cheaper online too. So thanks PetAid for keeping Sunny healthy even into his senior years.
