My cat, Fifi Miau, was treated very gently and ushered in a room quickly before a major dog pile up in the waiting area! That was comforting & considerate. Belcaro doctors and team are concerned about animals’ quality of life which is reassuring. My cat is old with old cat issues and the doctors understand that I don’t want to traumatize her with invasive procedures or, when the time comes, prolong her life selfishly. To top it off, their rates are quite reasonable.

Can't say enough great things about Belcaro. Dr Bechtold has been doing acupuncture treatments for my senior husky with arthritis and she's like a puppy again. Their prices are super reasonable and everyone who I've worked with here is awesome.

The first vet appointment went so well! Not being a native I was nervous to try any close vets but I did a lot of research on Belcaro and they looked the best and boy thank goodness I tried them. Front desk is super nice and friendly. Our mini dachshund was very popular such a friendly business. Dr sweet was super nice and informative. Will update this review as I see fit once we continue care. But so far we are very happy!

If I could give Belcaro Animal Hospital more than 5 stars, I would. They are simply the best at what they do. My 1 year old Golden Retriever was spayed by Dr. Strnadova and the process was so smooth and the recovery was much easier than I anticipated. Dr. Strnadova was so helpful and answered any questions we had about the process of a spay. My pup has recovered so well no doubt thanks to an amazing job done by Dr. Strnadova and the team at Belcaro. (Picture is of Bodhi in her surgical suit one day after her spay, happy as can be) We have also been seen by Dr. Edwards for vaccinations and she was extremely informative, answered all of my questions and worked so well with my pup. If you’re looking for a vet in the Denver area I HIGHLY recommend Belcaro Animal Hospital.

I must have done something good in a past life to have landed at Belcaro. After years of struggling with cat specialists treating symptoms, we finally landed in the arms of Dr. Edwards. She doesn’t just see several illnesses- but actually sees the whole cat. She listens- like really listens- and doesn’t treat me like just another neurotic cat lady (even when I am acting like one). She is compassionate and responsive- and holy affordable! Dr Herman and Belcaros Animal Hospital is the best Animal hospital I have ever been to. And I have been going to vets for 6 decades and in at least 5 states. Dr. Herman is our doggie Dr. He is kind, wise, compassionate, highly aware of any research on any condition and knows how to listen to the furry children's parents. I just moved to the area and my 8 year old Labrador was experiencing gastrointestinal problems. I took him to an emergency vet but when he did not get better I quickly looked up animal clinics.When I called Belcaro to schedule a follow up and new patient appointment for my pup they quickly scheduled a weekend appointment and then when I called to change it to Friday they were extremely accommodating. Dr.Sweet was very professional and thorough when she went over the care plan and answered all of my questions. I will continue to bring my lab as well as my golden here. After recently moving across the country, the process of finding a new vet for my three fur babes was stressful. I researched every vet in the area to make sure I found them the best care. Even after having done the research, admittedly I was still nervous. That is, until I actually visited this clinic for the first time. From the first moment I arrived, everyone I interacted with was especially kind, patient and communicative with my partner and I as we expressed our concerns and shared our pets' history. I've never seen my dog take to new people so quickly! The vet was incredibly knowledgeable and took so much time to speak with us, alleviating my concerns. They were respectful yet firm while discussing care options, which I appreciated greatly. I truly cannot recommend this clinic and it's incredible staff highly enough. I'm so happy to have my pets established here now and can rest easily knowing they are in excellent hands.

Dr. Hardy is an absolute angel he went above and beyond to save my three year old cat. I honestly don't know how to thank him. We took Delilah to Alameda East and they suggested we euthanize her. If it weren't for belcaro Animal Hospital and my family's Angel doctor Hardy the second picture of Delilah wouldn't be available. My family and I have been taking all of our pets including our rat to belcaro Animal Hospital for over 40 years and that's not going to change anytime soon. My dog was having some behavior changes and I wanted to make sure there was no underlying physical reason. I saw Dr Edwards this time; I usually see Dr Herman. Dr Edwards was terrific, really listened, and gave me great advice and we made a good plan. The staff is also very nice and things generally run on time.

I needed a new Vet during the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic, and my dog had a sore that needed attention right around the same time I got diagnosed with COVID-19. I called Belcaro to see if they would accept a new patient and if they could help us without being able to see him physically. They worked with me to get all his vaccination history transferred over and treated his sore with photos I emailed from my phone and a few phone calls. They even let a friend of mine pick up his medication since I couldn’t do so myself! They are also currently working with me to try treating some digestion issues my dog has that his previous Vet ignored. I would highly recommend Belcaro to anyone in need of a new vet!

My cat and dog are very timid, but the staff goes the extra mile to make sure they feel safe and comfortable. The doctors have never just ran a test unless it was absolutely necessary and have always been very transparent from start to finish. Visits are very affordable and they provide high end care. It's hard to find a good vet in Denver because they seem to all be sponsored by Pedigree or other garbage brands. However Belcaro has exceptional doctors and front house staff that deserve a serious reward for how much volume they handle every day. Belcaro also has great product choices and it's evident they care about the animals they treat. I would like to see the doctors be a little more personable but it might be a tall order just based on the absurd amount of clients they have. I've never had a bad experience here, though.

My cat is a new patient here, and we really love this place so far! We moved to Denver a couple years ago so we were looking for a new vet. I was referred to this Hospital by Lynn from Lynn's Loving Pet Care (she's great if you're ever looking for a pet sitter). I first took my babies to Wadsworth Animal Hospital, which was okay. After switching over to Belcaro, I do feel there was an extra level of attention that wasn't provided at the first vet. Anyway onto how the appointment works during Covid - You pull up to a numbered slot, give them a call, and very shortly someone comes out to assist you. The doctor calls you on the phone during your appointment. The doctor seemed very knowledgeable and caring. He even agreed to keep up communication with me via email regarding my cat's progress, which I very much appreciate. Overall I am very satisfied with the service I received and plan on taking all of my cats here for the foreseeable future.

Doctor Otero has been wonderful. She's thoughtful, gentle, and takes her time sharing information about all of your options. They always offer to do a nail trim if the dogs need it, and I've had excellent experiences with all of the support staff. I can't recommend Dr. Moore's bedside manner with older animals, as he has repeatedly advised against treatment of a healthy animal based solely on age, but I have no complaints with him with my younger pets, or with any of the other staff at all. I've been bringing my pets to Belcaro for years, and will continue to do so, because I feel that I can trust them with my best friends.

After years of routine visits at Belcaro Animal Hospital, a recent positive experience with them prompted me to write out a review from the fantastic experience I've received from them! The entire staff and Doctors (I've seen 3 since being there) are warm and welcoming. Their prices are reasonable, and I've always been able to be seen within a timely manner. I've often gone in as a Walk-In, so sometimes there can be a bit of a wait. But frankly, its exactly how I'd expect to be treated as a Walk-In, whats important is they were always able to get me into their schedule. Recently my dog, Rodney, developed an allergic reaction. Dr. Otero personally returned my call, was able to help me get my pup back to feeling 100% at a time I was unable to get into the office for a formal evaluation. As someone who works in the health field, I am always impressed when the staff and Docs are willing to call their patients and help them however they can. It shows a compassion and love for the work that they do. I'd highly recommend Belcaro Animal Hospital, and will be remaining a client as long as I'm in Denver. Keep up the great work, thanks Belcaro!

Whether it's an office visit or via email , these vet doctor's indescribably been the greatest when it comes to follow -up. Both have such a loving and caring demeanor that my pets seem to feel right at ease (which is strange, due to my little teacup has high anxiety issues). We used Belcaro for our beagle Emma for 9 years. All the vets and techs were great. They were highly competent, and were very supportive when she was diagnosed with lymphoma. They worked with the oncologist during the 25 months that she was in chemo and remission. We recently "adopted" a 4 year old Aussie mini. This is the best veterinarian clinic in Denver. The only problem is a lot of other people know about them and making an appointment can take awhile. They are great with my dog. My dog had surgery on.hi stomach and they had to keep him overnight. The next day we picked him up and he was doing great.

We have been coming to Belcaro Animal Hospital for a few years. We have had excellent care for our dogs and cats. I have never felt that tests or procedures were done for billing purposes, but were truly needed by the pet. We have perscriptions that we regularly get refilled there, and we get our cat's special food there. Recently, we had to have one of our dogs euthanized, and everyone there was very kind. Our doctor, Dr. Otero, is always clear on what she is recommending and why. Every time you ask her a question, she starts her answer with "good question." We really do feel she listens and takes the time to explain things. She ultimately leaves the decisions to us, but we feel comfortable in exploring all the options, not just the most convenient or expensive ones. The front desk staff is welcoming, courteous and efficient. They have good protocols to get people seen, billed, and on their way as smoothly as possible. We are grateful to have such a wonderful veterinary practice to be able to take our pets to. It means so much when pets are "family members."

We take our three dogs to Belcaro and wouldn't go anywhere else. We love Dr. Bechtold, but all the vets there are terrific. They are very knowledgeable, experienced and friendly. The staff is also very helpful and friendly. As busy as Belcaro is, the care they give to animals is A+, the waiting times are not very long, the place is clean, and prescriptions/refills are easy to pick up. We can't say enough good things about everyone there and their operation.

I live only two blocks away from another Veterinary Hospital that is very well known and on TV but I choose to drive several more miles to take my dog to Belcaro Animal Hospital. My dog gets good veterinary care at a reasonable price and, though thorough, the Belcaro doctors don't order exotic tests. The doctors listen well and they are willing to teach me. I learn a great deal every time my pup and I visit and my dog is thriving. Also the veterinary techs and office staff at Belcaro have fun together as do all the visiting animals = one great environment. I suggest you try it.

We have been using Belcaro for our pets' veterinary needs for over 20 years. Michael Herman is the most wonderful person with our dogs. We recently had a rescue Great Dane who was an emotional challenge and afraid of everything. Dr. Herman patiently worked with her for years, slowly but surely reducing her anxiety. Only onething - Dr. Hardy said his surgery day was Wednesday following my appointment and he said he would follow up - he did not, but I am sure he had a full schedule. If I could give Belcaro Animal Hospital 10 stars, I would. My family has been taking our pets to Belcaro since I was a kid, so when I got dogs of my own, the obvious choice for care was Belcaro. We have had nothing but the best care from all the vets we've seen, and there have been times when they have gone above and beyond for my dogs. When my Chihuahua ate a plant and became very sick about six years ago, Dr. Yrisarri didn't give up on treating him until he was better. When I took him to the vet specialist for further evaluation, he told me the care P-Nut received from Belcaro was excellent, and gave him a clean bill of health without further treatment. When my Bernese Mountain Dog had an after-hours allergic reaction to her vaccines, Dr. Moore called me not even 12 hours after our visit to the emergency vet and discussed how Tilly's vaccine plan would look from now on. He really put my mind at ease (and my husband's, too, she is his baby). My dogs have seen almost all the vets who work at Belcaro, and we've loved every one of them. I can't say enough about the great people who work at Belcaro. I highly, highly recommend Belcaro Animal Hospital to anyone whose pets are part of their families.

My family has been going to them for over 30 years and they have done great work with our animals. All of our pets never have had a negative experience here. The staff are great and if there is an emergency they usually try to handle it as quietly as possible. If I could give them more stars I would. I keep mostly with the doctors that I know and who have worked there for a long time. They respected my wishes when I had to Euthanize several pets because of old age and being uncomfortable. They gave me alone time with my pets before putting them to sleep. There is a lot of respect from all the staff members. It is always a good idea when making an appointment to getting there on time and if you have to you can leave the pet for the day if you have other things that need to get done and then pick them up when you are done.

I've been with Belcaro for a couple years and have a lot of experience with this clinic, even in that short amount of time. This is a very busy clinic so sometimes it is very hard to get through on the phone if you call first thing in the morning or end of the day. Dr. Herman is also a very popular vet and you have to book with him usually a week+ in advance. That's the end of the drawbacks to this practice and both of those are based on its popularity. You can pay less at some discount clinics and you can pay a lot more at VCA clinics which gets you a trendier waiting room, computerized files and a complimentary soft drink. But it doesn't get you better care. I see Dr. Herman but I've also seen a couple of the other vets and all of them do a great job. Dr. Herman is far and above the best vet I've ever taken my dogs to see. He works very hard at minimizing stress for the animals and is a brilliant clinician who doesn't over treat and doesn't perform unnecessary surgeries or other procedures. He researches, consults with vets in other parts of the country and sat on the floor with my dog during a 2 hour blood transfusion after the clinic was closed. The vet techs at Belcaro have been there for years ... there is no revolving door with underpaid trainees like I've seen elsewhere. I've seen and listened to enough in all parts of this clinic to know that these are very compassionate, professional people and I'm very happy with the care we receive.

Everyone was very polite and helpful in explaining all the processes and what the lab results meant for my cat. My cat is never a cool customer when it comes to vet visits, but I feel like they handled him as best they could with the utmost care. Can’t express how thankful we are for Dr. Herman! During a windstorm today, our back gate was blown open and our dog, Tyson, escaped for at least 15 minutes before we new he was gone. After frantically searching the neighborhood for a good 30 minutes I received a found pet alert for Tyson. Turns out that Dr. Herman had seen him loose in the neighborhood and took him to the clinic to scan his microchip (thank goodness for those!) and then posted to an online notification system to let me know he’d been found. This clinic has done nothing but been helpful each and every situation I've ever brought to them over a period of several years (which I feel like rarely are things I have brought to them simple!) They bent over backwards (literally) to assist in a very complicated dental of a tiny old dog with comorbidities. After working very long hours already, the vet I was working with called me late at night several times to give me updates on the organization of the dental which required an major orchestration of people and resources. I like that they are generally conservative in their approach and always follow-up to check on my pets. Gave her a shot for her sinuses and the cost doubled. Not really sure why they didn't discuss that first. What if I didn't have double the quoted cost? Other than that everyone was friendly, the office was well maintained and services were prompt.

Belcaro has been our vet clinic since 1991 and we wouldn't go anywhere else. They have given us superb care through five Labradors and two cats, from babyhood to their last moments--where they have cried with us. They have handled chronic conditions, cancer, broken teeth, a puppy with 36 inches of carpet binding jammed in the intestines, a cat's love of ribbon (also jammed in the gut) dirty ears, nail clipping, behavioral issues and just routine visits. Every time we are there, they give personal attention by listening and then explaining. Nothing is too minor, and if it is a serious condition we know our guyzos have the best of care. We wouldn't go anywhere else.

I was referred to Belcaro Animal Hospital when my over active Doberman was suffering from acute diarrhea. A renowned veterinary hospital wanted to do abdominal surgery on Mowgli who tested positive for hemophilia. The cost would have been $2,500 if he didn't need extra blood & care. I took Mowgli to Dr. Bechtold who ran tests for giardia, which was positive. Antibiotics were given and Mowgli was back digging holes in a few days. I can't praise them enough for the quality of care, the compassion and the kindness they have shown over the years.

Dr. Otero diagnosed our senior siamese/shorthair mix cat MAX with irritable bowel syndrome after another vet had seen him and couldn't find anything wrong. Our poor Max had been vomiting after every meal for months and he was miserable. Dr. O found the problem immediately and started treating him. He also had a thyroid malfunction. We are so grateful that the staff at Belcaro is so attentive and courteous. We are now taking all three of our felines there. In February my beagle/jack russell got attacked by a coyote in our backyard. It was a terrifying experience I thought my 24lb pup would not survive. We took her to the emergency vet first (it was 2am) and Belcaro took her in first thing when they opened. Dr. Rakefet Orobona was AMAZING and acted swiftly. She explained everything to me in a calm manner even though I was a complete emotional mess. Dr. Orobona and her staff took amazing care of my pup, she did holistic wraps around her neck (she couldn't go into surgery due to her 12 year old heart having a murmur). Dr. Orobona literally thought of every angle to her multiple wounds and told me exactly what to watch out for and how to nurse my pup back to health. We went back for multiple check ups and the staff was so happy to see her recovering it touched my heart. Robs (my dog) was so happy to see everyone even though she probably knew she was going to get her wrap changed or be in pain at some point during the visit. She would be showered with love and attention the moment she walked in the door, everyone rooting for her to make a full recovery. Well she did. She is still a crazy mutt who gets into all kinds of trouble and loves going on adventures. Her care was not cheap, but they did so much and literally saved my dog's life. I feel like they charge a very fair in price and provide excellent medical care for their furry patients. If you are looking for people who really care about your pet and will do anything for them, this place is it. P.S. Don't ever let your dog, no matter what the size, out at night (or dawn/dusk) alone during winter or early spring. Doesn't matter if you are in a highly populated area (we were when my dog got attacked), the coyotes are hungry and will do anything for a meal.

I was happy when I brought my 2 year old Bichon for her yearly shots, the vet took his time examining and answered any questions I had. However, I was extremely dissatisfied the day after when my dog ate an unknown amount of Orbit gum. When I called asking what I needed to do the receptionist told me that all the vets were going to lunch (it was noon) but I could bring my dog in and they may get to her around 2pm, yet this was considered an "emergency". When I explain my concern of my dog not receiving any treatment for another 2 hours I was told I could always go to an emergency vet care center and "best of luck". I am no vet but if this is considered an "emergency" wouldn't they want to assess and treat my dog before all the gum is digested? Thankfully, I did take my dog to the emergency vet and she is fine. I would prefer a vet that is available for both routine and emergent needs.

My family has the greatest gratitude and confidence in Belcaro Animal Hospital. A huge shout out goes to Mike Herman and Anna Otero for their excellent care for two full generations of our dogs. Dr. Herman treated our doxie, Bean from puppyhood until she died of old age. Dr. Herman referred her for neck surgery while she was in her prime, and she energetically lived another six years. Dr. Otero treated our doxie, Lily through no less than 3 potentially fatal conditions for 8 years. Lily was a rescue supposedly dying of cancer when we first brought her to Belcaro. We dodged that diagnosis, and Lily then developed Cushings – 2, 3, 4 years ago? Under Dr. Otero’s care, Cushings didn’t negatively affect Lily a bit. Lily had minimal blood tests and the medication wasn’t expensive. Lily thrived. Then she developed a heart murmur. 2 years ago. Lily was trotting around in the backyard the day before she died, at 16 years old. We currently have a 13 year old dachshund and a 9 year old great dane who act and look as if they are puppies. They are both exceptionally healthy and happy and both run (fast!) every day. We have the highest recommendation for Belcaro!
