I highly recommend Summit Animal Hospital to anyone especially after my experience with them. From booking my 12 week Cane Corso’s ear crop appointment to drop off, surgery day, and pick up.. S.A.H. was nothing short of great. The staff was informative extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable with the whole process. When I picked up Blue she was so happy! I was impressed with the ear crop you guys did an amazing job.. I’m glad I made the 3 hour outta state drive to get services done with you. Thank you Summit Animal Hospital

I love my baby. she was vomiting and not pooping for about 3-4 days but she was better the same day i brought her here! My wait was about 1 hour, so quick... I just took home medicine and she's back to normal eating all her fav food thank you guys 😘 …

This place gets mixed reviews. For myself all I can say is I have no complaints. If I call and leave a vm they always reach out to me and answer my questions. I have recommended this place to friends and family and they haven’t complained either. If you can afford higher prices for your pet then do it. But so far this is affordable to me and until I find a good reason to leave a bad review, I’ll keep taking my Jax here

This is long overdue. One of the best places to have your dog seen. Caring staff and extremely knowledgeable vets. I moved out of the area, but drive over 2 hours to get treatment for our dog when he is sick. Cost is also very reasonable Thanks so much for all you do! God bless your staff!

I wish i would have gone there sooner. Some of the best service ever. Unfortunately our cat was too far along with her kidney disease and we ended up losing her but they were so kind and did what they could. Thank you all for you dedication and hard work.

I was a little skeptical of this place. They seem overly busy. But for a busy place they are very organized, helpful, and clean. Don’t be surprised if when you arrived there is a group of ppl outside. They only let a certain amount of ppl inside at a time, and I encourage you to have an appointment. They answered all my questions. Someone called me before my cat’s surgery just to make sure I knew everything, and they called me when he got out (as I requested). When you call you will have to leave a message, but they get back in a timely manner. Pricing is very reasonable. I would recommend.

Best vets ever! They truly care about animals and everyone in the office is so kind! They don't accept appointments so you do have to wait, but it's well worth it for the quality of service and care.

One of the most honest vets I’ve ever used! They’re caring and affordable. This is a walk in facility, so no appointments so the wait time can be long but that’s only because they’re so affordable they’re always busy. My dog’s surgery was half the cost quoted by another vet. Been going here for 9 years.

This place is my to-go since 2007 my dog had parvo and let's just say the vets all took care of my dog and lived a long happy normal life. They are completely affordable compared to other vets I love them so much I drive from ohare to summit. I them have only taken my dogs to summit .

Best vet in town…..the service s great! Now, if only people would respect the hospital rules. I Took my pet in today and while standing in line I watched a man get verbally attacked because he formed a line while many left their chairs in the parking lot to hold their spots Glad he and a few others stood their ground against those that were trying to bash him for doing what is asked. There are clearly signs stating, no items to hold your spot and the line forms on the sidewalk. With that said….. still the best place to take your fur baby. Thank you staff, for being the best.

Didn't go inside so we just talked with the vet tech outside. They were so nice and patient and so were we. It was almost 3 hours total we spent there. However I'll sit in my car and wait as long as we need to, to make sure our SnoopyDogg is good! Thank you for taking care of him ❤

Even though you're not able to make an appointment everything still manages to run smoothly. You go inside to check in and then wait in your car till they call your phone, they take your pet without which makes me sad to not be there with him while he's getting shots etc, but they're usually back out in under 10min! Still one of the more affordable vets, super clean and very VERY nice staff! I only take my dog here

The best absolutely the best , waits can be little long at times because everyone comes here . Me and my wife own 6 dogs and my son has a breeding business and we have had many occasions were we have gone to various vets . The level of care here is outstanding the staff make sure you understand what's going on and that you understand the after care . They don't try to drain your pockets and the prices are more then reasonable, they give you options on what is really needed and the cost and optional things that are not absolutely necessary but is more for piece of mind . They have alot of frenchies bulldogs and micro/exotic bullies under their care which is really important if you have a micro bully due to being a newer breed alot of vets don't know about this breed and their care . It's a long drive for us but more than worth it . A must if looking for a great vet

As far as most people of concerned cropping a dog's ears by the owners request is animal cruelty!! DR. GARY is a awesome vet and so is Tracy!! He has so many years of working with animals. Ive been coming here for years. Vaccine visits are quick, but if you have to see the vet you are in for a LONG wait. I am currently waiting in the room & we are going on 4.5hrs 😳 it took 3.5hrs just to be called back. UPDATE 3/24/23 We had to put our baby girl down in november of 2022. They were thee most supportive people we had the privilege of working with. They had us come in towards closing time which was a mart thing to do (when we left we didnt have to walk through the crowd of dogs knowing we just put ours down). They allowed us as much time as we needed (never rushing us) what surprised me & made me breakdown in my car was that along with her ashes and her paw print they gave us a batch of her fur... thank you SAH for the amazing 9yrs of pet service you offered my baby girl.

This Animal Hospital is beyond amazing! When my dog was dying of parvo I called every vet and animal hospital in Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Not only were the prices unrealistic for me to even attempt to try to gather that kind of money, but all hope flew out the window. Until I found Summit. They told me to come in right away and worked with me about the payment. They were truly amazing. They made sure to save my dog first and worry about the money later. I recommend this place a billion times over, that's how awesome they are. Very friendly, caring, compassionate. They deserve an award of Best Animal hospital & Vet of the year/decade! Ty so much Summit Animal hospital for saving my pitbull Puma. He just turned 4 years old May 7th, 2021. I added some pictures. Ps. If Summit didn't exist, this dog wouldn't alive today! Loved this place! Its unfortunate that I couldn't go in to check out the clinic due to Co-Vid restrictions but the staff made me feel comfortable enough to leave my cat with them. They were quick and efficient. I arrived at 8am and was done by 8:40. They have plenty of parking. It was quick to get an appointment for my Kahlo! Definitely will continue going here

Some people say really negative things about this animal hospital but I have had really good experience so far. They are taking their time with you and your pet making sure that everything is alright doesn’t matter how busy they are. Prices are fair as well. I’ll definitely come here again and again. Expect to wait an hour in line, bring a chair if you need to. Once it’s your turn, it’s just signing in and leaving again until they call 📞 you for you to bring your pet in. Affordable vaccines, but don’t get them groomed here. I paid for a nail trim and they barely even cut anything off and left my dogs nails all jagged. I fixed it when we got home.

Incredibly nice, helpful and accommodating. All of the information the receptionist provided when I called was very helpful for the senior who asked me to call on his behalf. I have always heard so many wonderful things about this place and I will continue to refer personal friends. But those that plan on taking their pets here, please be patient! They are doing the best they can and are truly accommodating all those that go to their facility. You cannot make an appointment for a general visit. It’s first come, first serve. Unless, you have a prescheduled surgery for your pet. So if you’re impatient, can’t wait, don’t want to wait and feel YOU are a priority over all those that are willing to wait, then you need to go elsewhere. Plan well (water for you and your pet) and please always clean up after our pet. Remember to always leash your pets and place cats in carriers. This location is on a high traffic, four lane road.

I’ve been going to this vet since before it was at this location and I LOVE IT! They treated my dog for 13 years and recently put her down. They are so caring love Dr Nathan and Stacy the staff is wonderful although it is a long wait definitely recommend. I Love going here with my pets, very affordable, nice and clean. Staff is very nice. The only thing I didn’t like was when I took my dog to get a C-section she was giving to me very cold all full of blood and puppies also. She barely could walk on her own. I been to other animal hospitals and they take there time, they warm momma up and clean her and pups. Once she’s was able to walk on her own that’s when we left.

I arrived to the hospital about 8:20 am. When I got there it was already a long line, about 30-35 people ahead of me. I was a lit frustrate cause of the long line. I begin talking to a young lady in front of me and she assured me that the line would move fast. Guess what she was right. The hospital open at 9:00 am. It was a lady at the front door asking you what you was there for, and then they tell you what line to go to. They had several lines. The doctor done an excellent job. I am definitely going back.

This is the best vet by far Dr. Tracee is so sweet and very adamant about getting her patients the animals well. The week before I went to the low-cost veterinarian in Chicago heights and I was truly amazed of how unprofessional they were. It wasn't a low-cost veterinarian at all they charged me $230 for little bit of nothing and a couple of prescriptions I went to Dr Tracy and I got four prescriptions for my dog a x-ray and blood work done all for $110 she's feeling better I go Monday for her follow-up she may have to have surgery

Went on a Saturday, I was #14 to see the vet and waited a total of 5 hours since being in the waiting line to driving off the lot. Overall, long wait time but it was worth it when I saw and spoke to the vet. Had a different experience from my regular vet who I feel like is money hungry and quick to give my pet drugs and that's it. This vet truly listened to me and my concerns. Will definitely come back. Thank you to all the staff, they were sweet and caring.

Love this place because they always attend my pets well and have affordable prices. My only complaint is that sometimes they are hard to get a hold of but it's because they are always super busy. If you go, early arrival is highly suggested because they do reach capacity for the day and will have long wait times. Other than that, they're great.

I just left summit animal hospital to bring my my two dogs Harley-Davidson who is on meds for a heart murmur and Maggie May for vaccines and check up. I have been bringing them to Summit Animal Hospital for a few years now since I left Banfield. My drive is at least 14 miles one way. I want to send a Great Big shout out to Dr. Kim and Laura and the whole team and doctors. For always being kind and caring for all the pets they take care of. People need to learn to be patient the doctor and team take each and ever pet they see as their own so time might be a long wait. Expect it ! Do not get upset or angry. Be patient. These people are great! I went in today and I may have had to wait but it was worth it. They really made me feel welcomed and cared for. My puppy was jumped by my bigger bully and he got him really good that the ER suggest I get his eye removed. Most vets were trying to charge me 600 off the bat & this vet made me feel like he wasn’t about the money. You can easily charge for surgery but I walked out paying $50 not bad for a cone for himself and some medication. Thank you again! No one no matter the story! No one wanted to take him but here they made me feel like I can come an any day and I’ll be taken care of so a big thank you. You all are great! 🙏🏽

♡♡♡ Summit Animal Hospital. Previous to finding this office, I had used 3 other vets, all of whom seemed more worried about what they could sell me than my pet. At Summit Animal Hospital you can feel the love they have for your pet and all animals. They go above and beyond, especially when your pet is sick. They will not overcharge you nor sell you services that your pet does not require!! Staff is very friendly, even when they are crazy busy. I cannot say enough good things about them. ❤️

I think this is a great place!!! Yes, you have to wait like 1-2 hrs for your dog to get checked but it’s worth it because it’s extremely economic!!! That’s why people go there and if you love your dog enough you would wait that time! I am so grateful I found them years ago! What you would pay in another vet for 800$ here you pay half or even less! It’s AMAZING! God bless them!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Only thing I would love is that they would answer phone calls!

I've been going here for years. The staff are absolutely wonderful and the prices are reasonable. I have not taken my pets anywhere else once I found them. The building is always clean too. Every room I've been in, and the bathrooms, always clean. Edit: I just used their groomer for the first time last week. My normal groomer was booked and I needed my dogs hair trimmed. She is absolutely wonderful! I think I found a new groomer for my doggos! It’s a bit of a wait, but the price is better and her cut came out much better too.

The staff was friendly. Place was well kept. You can come inside and check in and go back to your car with your pet and wait for a phone call or text to come in. I went on a Friday at 9:30am and wasn't helped until 1:30pm. Inexpensive but the wait was terribly long.

I arrived with my very sick Bully Baby who had just turned 8 years old that Saturday. I knew she was but not with cancer ridden lungs. She would look up at me with her sad brown eyes, licking my hand to let me know she loved me. The staff was so sweet and gentle with the news. Dr Kim was so helpful! Day 2 of Cali getting her steroids and she's eating like crazy Update as of 3/12/22, Cali crossed over the rainbow bridge. She took a turn for the worse that day and I took her to premier emergency vet and made the tough decision to let her go. But I still thank Dr Kim for giving me another week with her.

Took sick cat and ended up having to euthanize her. The Dr and her assistant were very kind, compassionate and did not hurry me at all. (Since I wasn't totally prepared to do that when I went.) Let me make a few phone calls and gave me time alone with her. It's first come, first served, but the wait was about an hour and is worth it. It's a lot cheaper than the regular vet and easier to get in. A few other places I tried didn't have appointments for weeks.

Summit Animal Hospital is PROFESSIONAL, CARING AND AMAZING. As an owner of a Cane Corso who is not socialized, he had not been to the vet since he was younger. I was so fearful of taking him to the vet not knowing how it would be handled which prevented me from taking him for a few years. I bought a new choke collar which we could not get off once we got it on and it was snug. I brought him in, they were able to give him sedation, remove the collar, get him updated on shots and deal with another issue. I am so relieved as well as my Corso, to have that collar off. I cannot recommend this facility highly enough. Their staff is friendly and calmed me as soon as we discussed the situation. Now that I know the process, I am beyond comfortable with bringing him back. If you need a vet in the Chicago area, who knows their business and fair pricing, this is the place for you and your fur baby. They won't disappoint.

Amazing animal hospital. Quoted half for a test for my very sick dog than at his bet of 14 years that wouldn't take him in because they no longer take "emergencies". Great service and very caring staff. Expect to wait a while but it is worth it. You'll wait anywhere you go.

This place is fantastic. They really take care of your animal. All their staff show love and care for your pets. It is really busy. So make sure you get there early. They practice social distancing and you must wear a mask. You are not aloud inside...so you can wait in your vehicle with your pet. Highly recommend.

Dr. Gary and Debbie were so amazing to my cat! He was throwing up so I took him in for a checkup, he stayed overnight and also got a groom - he looks and feels amazing now!! I was so appreciative that they gave my kitty a good time and a lot of attention, as I was so sad about leaving him overnight. Dr. Gary gave a thorough diagnosis and took his time to explain everything to me and Debbie even called me to update me on my cat. Thank you summit animal hospital!

Amazing. Simply amazing. Although it does take a while to get the veterinarian to assist you because they only do walk-ins right now, because of COVID-19, the service there is quick and straightforward. You just simply park in the parking lot next to the hospital, walk out and sign in by the front door pink binder, and just go back to your car and wait. They WILL call you ONCE and if you do not answer they will not call again due to the large amount of people who are “behind you” in line. Took my Doberman to get looked at and seemed he had some allergies, and they gave him some medications and shampoo and turned out great. No more itching and the ear infection began to slowly fade. He still has a bit left over from the ear infection, but a bit more medicine and my Dob will be fine. Recommend this place, but just please keep your dog inside your car, if you are waiting to be called. Do not be rude and go to the door and demand for help. They will call you. Also, to be respectful of other dog/cat owners, I recommend to also stay in your car to avoid barking or aggressiveness to occur between dogs/cats. Not that expensive, but is far if you live in the downtown area.

Nice place very small but affordable I would had given it 5 stars because of the great and attentive Vet. The only negative thing I have to say is that i took my new puppy in for a physical and they told me the waiting time was 45 min due to only two vets being available. 9/3/20 - I had a great experience here. First time going here. The overall wait time was about an hour, as expected. But the actual check up, diagnosis and giving us the meds was like 10-15min. My dog kept scratching and shaking his ears, so it was an ear infection. I got my dog, a Doberman mixed with Boxer, in March and little did we know that we'd be quarantined forever. So my dog has zero socialization skills with people and other animals. Because he's 7 months and continuously growing I haven't bought him a muzzle, thankfully the clinic provides one if needed. When we had to give him to the nurse at the entrance she made sure to move slowly around him so he wouldn't panic and he was fine, so indo appreciate that. After the doctor did a quick checkup he came outside with a translator as well, if we needed one, and showed us the correct way to clean our dogs ears. Overall a quick, cheap, and efficient vet!

This place is the best. All of the staff are so caring, the Vet's are all top notch. Dr.'s Tracee, Jen, and Nathan are wonderful. Yes, sometimes there is a wait, but they try to get you in as quick as they can. No one is standing around here. They have a very busy practice because the quality of care is excellent. Here's my experience: -Customer Service: The staff is great, they took the time to ask questions and provided feedback on my diabetic cat. The wait can be long line due to the "first come first serve" approach though this gives everyone a chance to come in as needed. -Location: Easy to locate off of Harlem, ample parking. Once we needed care for our cat, it was concerning to find a good vet that could provide with good service at a reasonable cost. Glad we found the folks at Summit Animal Hospital.

Okay to start off they did an great job with my pups ear crop, they look amazing. The day of the surgery was my first day at the hospital, the assistants were nice and explained things thoroughly. Went back a month later for an exam, and the overall visit that day was pleasant, the place can get really packed since it is a walk in; but luckily it wasn't busy so everything happened pretty quick. Doctor was nice and honest. Prices are definitely affordable, i am so glad I chose to go to SAH I couldn't be more pleased about this place !

I had to bring my cat to be put down. He had two fatal viruses and was suffering. During his sickness, the hospital did everything they could do for him. When the time came, they were very professional in handling him. They made sure that it was quick and painless. They explained everything that was happening. I was able to go in and be with my cat. Also was able to bring someone else with me. After it was over, they allowed me to stay as long as I needed to say goodbye. They showed patience and understanding. I would highly recommend taking your pet to them for anything.

Was there bcuz my Nala had a bad leg. It took us 30 drive. My sister in law suggested I try them out. She had nothing but praise for this hospital and the staff. Very reasonable prices. we not able to see the Dr. Got there at 9:30am Tuesday, after 45 minutes wait time. I ask how much longer, they said 1 hour and 1/2 there had new computer systems and it would be like that for the next couple if weeks. It was pretty busy, but they did keep the flow going pretty good, pets getting dropped off and pick up quickly. Parking always seemed to be full. It was suggested the sign up sheet is placed out at 8am, Drs start at 9am. I guess we will try again. I am sure, I will add more comments after my visit.

Dr. Traycee saved my 10 year old lab. We came in and she admitted him right away and performing life saving surgery the next morning. I really though he wasn't going to make it. She removed a twenty pound tumor from his side and saved his life. We are ten days out and he is like a new dog. Very good service. Yes, they only do 1st come 1st served, but it is not as bad as you think or some might say. I live 15 minutes away and today I arrived at 930. It's 1045 now and I'm already back home. I brought my pitbull in because she was favoring her front paw and I asked them to give her a check up and perform an x-ray. They did everything quickly and thoroughly. Ofcourse the wait is depending on what you're going there for, but I personally feel that I was in and out in no time. The prices are incredibly reasonable as well. Due to Covid-19 you can not go inside to be with your fur baby, but you can be assured that your baby is being cared for very well here. I would recommend this place to anyone! Thanks for helping my baby!

They performed a C-section on my exotic pocket AB, and delivered her pups safe and sound. The mom is doing well also. They gave amazing care to our Bruno, including when we had to say our final goodbye to our beloved 14 year old pup! They were compassionate and never charged for anything unnecessary. Even told us we shouldn't get extra tests just to find out all of his ailments. He was 14 yrs old, had kidneys failing and could barely walk. Educations and treatments were far less expensive than any other veterinarian facility. Highly recommend them.

They were very sympathetic with us having to put down our 13 year old fur baby. We ordered a clay paw print and included a cutting of her fur. The only downside to the clay print, though, is that we have to harden it ourselves. We were also distressed that we had to wait for her to be euthanized. We feel that pets that need that service should get priority over others, as it only makes things harder on pets and owners. I wouldn't be opposed to going to them for our cat's needs, i.e., regular grooming and veterinary care.

Good new facility. Pricing usually beats all other neighboring Animal Hospitals. Staff is nice. Facility clean. 1 star off for misdiagnosis of a tick that was stuck on our dogs neck. Tech said it was a cut due to scratching. Turned out that wasn't the case. 1 negative experience out of several positive. Just make sure you ask questions .. and maybe ask a second opinion.

Very long wait times- I waited 2 hours and 25 minutes for my dog to be attended! And poor customer service! This hospital should ashamed of themselves! The check in person was very rude, impatient, and hardly paid attention to me. I would periodically ask every 30min on the status of my dog on their list and 3 out of the 4 times I asked the person would not give me a clear answer and gave me negative looks. However, the only redeeming quality is their prices are low. $96 for one shot, anti bacterial treat, eye medication, and other stuff.

I will never go anywhere else. Never once had a bad experience. The wait can be a little long on Mondays and Saturdays. They genuinely care for animals. Dr . Tracee put down my cat Buffy and was so, so gentle. They allowed me to sit with her in a room while waiting and when the medication was being administered I was with her. Then, when it was over Dr. Tracee hugged me as I sobbed and allowed me as much time as needed with Buffy. In the years since they always take care of my dog who needs steroids for allergies ever fall. The rates are affordable and again, the staff is very loving.

I cannot stress enough how thankful I am for this place. I am a first timer here. My chihuahua was brutally attacked by another dog and was left very mangled. We brought our baby here and was taken care of right away. The doctor and nurses took great care of him. The vet was very informative and made sure we knew how to conduct aftercare for our dog. My cat was in need of medical care. The vet facility I use for the past 12+ years suddenly closed with out notice. I was informed about Summit from my doctor admin receptionist. They welcome walk ins. Staff are Polite, efficient, reasonable, and thorough. My cat recieved immediate care and I went on to have him groomed, registered, and borded overnight. This place is amazing. Friendly staff awesome doctors. They saved my puppies life. While she was in surgery due to her swallowing a foreign object, the doctor himself would call me everyday just to give me a status on her health. They had told me that most of her intestines were damaged and she had a 50/50 chance she wasn't going to make it. They pulled through and so did maddie. I'm not 100% sure about them anymore When I got meds for my dog the vet tech clearly said the price was exactly 100 dollars. I look at my bank statement and they drew over what she had told me. I feel I can only trust country side vet now with my card information EDIT: After this whole ordeal, I had the need to take my girl dog to get a few frontal teeth removed.... They had evaluated her and drawn her blood to ensure she can be put to sleep safely, I get the date scheduled and only had to wait for the blood work results. I finally had gotten the call and the person tells me that she's good to be operated on and we're keeping the date... The surgery day finally had arrived and they take her in, I'm an anxious person so I'm anxious as hell that day.... A few minutes in they call me to say the Dr was not comfortable putting her under cuz of elevated levels in her liver. Tf I had gotten the green light days prior! I had to spend MORE money for the pills that will help. NO! Paying for the pills isn't what I'm mad about, but the fact that they could have told on that first call what she really needed instead of green lighting it. I had run out of money by then too and she still has really loose teeth. I can't seem to find a vet that will help her with out breaking me.... This place had left me a sour taste tho....

The new facility is very nice with a huge parking lot which was definitely needed. I hated going to the old building because there was no lot and there were 2 rooms that were connected where you'd go to see the Vet. There would be people basically cutting through to get to the other room. So this new place is a much needed upgrade. It's a beautiful facility with sliding barn doors on rooms and the flooring looks really good. The prices here can't be beat. Because of that it's always busy. I've met people from other states and from over an hour away who come to this Vet because of the fair prices. So know what to expect when you go here. You can't really complain about the wait or how they do things if you're going there for their prices. I don't expect a Whole foods experience at Wal-Mart or a Hilton experience at Red Roof Inn. If you want immediate care you will have to go somewhere else and pay for it because this is a first come first serve. It's not based on emergency, so you should consider this also. I noticed a lot of the bad reviews here we're people who thought their pet was having an emergency but they chose to wait here instead of going somewhere where they could be seen right away. Sometimes those pets died. It's very sad but if your pet is having an emergency you might want to go somewhere else. People start lining up outside of this place about a half hour before they open. I took my dog to an emergency Vet on a Sunday and was told she needed a $5000 emergency surgery or euthanasia for a life threatening condition called pyometra. They weren't able to do the surgery at that facility and they didn't transport. So I took the dog home and was supposed to bring my dog to the other facility the next day. That visit cost $540. I stopped at Summit Vet for a second opinion before going to the other facility. They treated my dog with antibiotics for $75 and she was able to get a non emergency surgery 2 weeks later for $250. I was also told that if the antibiotics didn't work she would have to have an emergency surgery for $1500. So I'm glad I came here wait and all. The emergency Vet didn't even give me the option of antibiotics. And I considered putting my dog to sleep as I'm sure a lot of people would after being told that. Most people aren't going to spend $5000 on a dog.

Wonderful alternative to vastly expensive vets, Tracy and her team are great at what they do. Have had numerous visits to this vet and have always left very happy. They don’t rip you off and they have the upmost compassion for what’s going on, along with being equipped to handle exotics and livestock. You will want to get there somewhat early because they don’t take appointments. Would recommend to anyone in need of a skilled veterinarian.

My mother's dog has had an ear infection for almost 2 years. They keep giving me different ointments and pills but it hasn't helped. I don't live with the dog and my mother doesn't tell me this until I take the dog to be groomed. I'm going to have to take him somewhere else to be checked. Also, they do not take appointments, which is ridiculous. You have to wait sometimes 2-3 hours and they get soooooo crowded that they run out of chairs and people are standing. Good prices if you have the time to wait. I won't be going back.

My pet died last April and I should have written this review then. I love Summit Animal Hospital. I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else. They tried to save my dog and barely charged me what any other local Vet would have charged. They don't have the fancy building and the pretty atmosphere--they don't need it. The love and care that they showed me towards all of my dogs is what keeps them very popular. They are a neighborhood Vet. I hope they never sell out to a large company. Today I will take my new rescue dog to SAH. I expect the same experience I have had each time I went there. My experience was sad but they are wonderful people. Dr Tracey is the best vet I have ever met. Trust me its not the building that makes the Vet great. It is the Doc, and the people behind the scenes.

Actually I'm still waiting I also called the office but there was no answer. I asked the young man "is there something wrong?" after telling him my situation. He responded " I don't know What's going on ." UPDATE Summit never reached out after 24 hours . I will find another vet office

Everyone in there is very knowledgeable. my puppy has been sick for a few weeks now and Dr. Nathan has been helping us. Without him I'm not sure what would have happened to our puppy.

My cat had been suffering with what i thought was either a skin ulcer or an infected wound for about a day when i noticed he started to irritate it even more by scratching it w his hind legs, i immediately started looking for hospitals that would take him in that same day but after calling nearly every animal hospital in the chicago land area for 3 days and even went all the way to Premiere Orland Park just to get turned down. However Summit Animal hospital answered my call very quickly and told me i just needed to get on the sign up sheet to be seen In a couple minutes (but for the most part we waited only an hour and a half) Which may sound like a bit much BUT it is NOT Compared to the month and a half we would half to wait in other hospitals (I AM NOT EXAGGERATING) (they were all booked til may/june, its April. Im glad my cat was able to be seen at summit as soon as he did even though it took us forever to find this location Thank you for attending to my cat the same day and not turning us down like every other location

We’ve been taking our pets to summit for apx 10 years+. I will never go anywhere else. Literally the entire staff from the front desk to the veterinarians are the most professional, compassionate people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. I’m in rescue so I deal with a lot of animals and I take my own 5 animals here, I have always received the best advice, treated with the utmost kindness and respect , especially in difficult times and the surprising aspect is they are the most reasonably priced clinic out there. I moved so it’s a 30 minute drive, but that will never stop me from going. I see Dr Nathan Ranke and he is an angel on earth! I’ve never worked with someone professionally that goes above and beyond and out of his way as much as this man. Dr Tracy and Trent are just as wonderful! Marissa is master of multi-tasking and Ken is always very helpful. We even named a puppy after another employee (Kenny) because he saved his life, he call him “Little Kenny”. I have been coming to Summit Animal Hosp for over 15 years. Courteous service from all, the doctors are very informative, and I always leave knowing my pets have received the best care. And when my pets passed away, they were very compassionate. Also, the prices are so reasonable (went up, but not by much, and still far more reasonable then other vet offices. When I took my 10 rottweiler puppies for their 1st shots and came up a little short on the fees (which were very reasonable in the first place), they reduced it to what I had. How is that for reasonable? The new location is fantastic (very roomy) with lots of parking available. Will never change vets.

I love this place, best animal hospital I've taken my dogs, they do take pride in what they do to help animals. I met a man that had gone to two different animal hospital and both told him there was nothing he could do for his dog. He's dog wasn't able to walk around nor eating for a few days they found 1st signs of cancer, they told him he's best thing to do was put them down. But as an dog owner they become family so he was recommended to this hospital within a few days of been seen the at summit animal hospital his dog was back to being a normal dog again they found a virus infection which was what seem to be causing his health to deteriorate not the cancer. These dog got a second chance to live all thanks to the doctors that work there and truly believe in helping animals by bringing them back to health.

Yes, you have to wait long for your turn, but the doctor will always make it worth your while and will not charge you insane amounts of money for things you don't need. They don't put a bunch of money into the cosmetic look of their facility, (and really who cares), their energy and money goes into their animals. Exactly how a vet should be run if you ask me. Ok you walk in and the place looks like a total dive. It is so little I can't believe the amount of staff that work there. They are right on top of one another. That being said a fancy building = high prices it does not equal good care. I was very embarrassed because my dogs 8 and 10 had never had a dental cleaning and the one puppy had horrible breath. I went in and got their shots updated. Rabies ( with tags)shot and two other shots so they could be admitted and be safe around other dogs. The normal shots all dogs get. Plus antibiotic pills so the dogs could have their dentals done at the next appointment. $75 a dog! WOW crazy affordable. Then we were able to schedule an appointment for 2 weeks later. Do to my dogs ages they recommended blood work but said it was up to us. If they found something in the blood work they would postpone the cleanings and take care of the other problems first. Blood work for two dogs ($50 each), deep teeth cleanings for two dogs, 5 teeth pulled total, pain meds, and more antibiotic and my total was $345. It was a great deal. I felt like staff cared about my babies. Their teeth and breath are fabulous! I have found a new vet!

i love this hospital most of all it has perfect and affordable prices for anything your fur baby needs we were devastated to hear our dog needed surgery thinking it was going to be very expensive called a couple hospitals refered by vets at banfield in petsmart comes out it was over 3000 dollars well thank god my dad found out about this place!! they told us her surgery was going to be 800 but came out to be only 500 we are so glad we took our dog there she is doing so good i recommend this hospital to anyone! thank you so much summit animal hospital!! <3

Small animal hospital with friendly staff and doctors. I only go there to buy medicine for my dog cause they give me a good price. I am giving it 5 starts because I knew it was a first come first serve place, but for me waiting was an inconvenience and rather pay elsewhere for appt. Our dog was spayed there and it was a good experience.

I brought in my rabbit that got injured from a spay at a specialists vets office. Dr. Tracy was recommended to me from a relative of 15 years going here. Western Medicine technique was applied to my rabbit, and I wouldn't have had her as long as I did if it wasn't for Dr.Tracy. Thank you always doctor for being there for my little Gizmo and myself.

It is a small waiting room and its first come first serve basis so they are usually pretty busy, But I can only ascertain, it's because of their Optimal and Progressive treatment , Careand Hospitality towards you and your pet(s).
