Took my buddy my best friend and son...part of our family to this Vet and they were so wonderful and helpful very caring about my dog. That's the main thing I want in my care for my animals is to feel like they person looking at them cares about the best thing for my dog,not just to make money from me. If your pet is part of your FAMILY and you truly love them and they are not just a pet to you? Then care enough for them to take them to DUNBAR ANIMAL HOSPITAL... YOU'LL BE HAPPY YOU DID

I take both my dog and cats, Dr Perkins diagnosed my cat with lymphoma after other vets not pushing further to see why he had lost so much weight and gotten so sick. My cat passed away because the lymphoma was so far along 😞 The doctor and staff were so caring and compassionate!! More recently my dog got out of our yard and broke her leg very bad and she was seen as a walk in by Dr Whitt, we got referred for orthopedic surgery in another clinic but they were so good to my dog, and once again so caring. I highly recommend!

Dunbar Animal Hospital has always been there for my 15 years old Chihuahua and even though the Covid caused us to sit in our vehicles sometimes it has been a hassle still my fur baby was taken good care of.

Good old fashioned medicine- Dr. Grady is our hero! I have nothing but the highest praise for Dr. Grady and the entire team at Dunbar Animal Hospital... She is, quite possibly, the smartest vet i've come across in the past 6 years. Her clinical acumen is on point and her overall philosophy and judicious use of diagnostics is a rarity these day. Dr. Grady is super well-rounded. No frivolous anything. Just good old fashioned medicine. My senior dog has a million and one ongoing and new issues. She previously saw internists, cardiologists, dermatologist, etc when we lived in a big city. Dr. Grady wears all these hats, and then some. She has confidently helped us navigate thru serious issues such as high-suspicion for bladder cancer, extensive atopy, severe pancreatitis, and new diagnosis of diabetes. Her ability to synthesize all aspects of my baby's care is impressive. Dr. Grady is, quite simply, the whole package. Yes, the wait times are long for walk-ins. We always try to make an appointment. Everyone has been extremely helpful and PATIENT... Dr. Grady spent over 30 minutes at lunchtime going over results with me over the phone. She goes above and beyond for the pet and their owner. I noticed a while back Dr. Grady was interviewed by the Daily Mail about Vet Schools (or the lack thereof) in WV. My hope is that until WV has a vet school- Vet's such as Dr. Grady continue to come back home to WV to take care of our community. Her kindness, selflessness, and dedication inspire me. I trust her with my most precious love, and that says a lot. Not sure we could have made it this far without Dr. Grady.. so from the bottom of my heart, thank you. We appreciate you and everyone at Dunbar Animal Hospital.

I have been to a lot of vets . in June of 2014. I took my Dog Rusty to three different vets for two weeks for throwing up on a Friday night he couldn't stop Sat morning I took him to Dunbar animal hospital me and my sister got there around 8:30 they open at 9:00 my sister gets out of the car she gets in line to save our spot I pick him up and hold him in my arms at this time he had just enough strength to pick his head up I seen the staff going in the building at 8:50 so I get out of the car and walk over to my sister I started crying I told her Rusty is dying she said no he's not I was frantic and said he is limp and his tongue is turning slightly purple she took him out of my hands and starts kicking the door one of the staff comes running out and wanted to know what was going on I was screaming my dog is dying the woman takes Rusty from my sister's hands and said honey he's dead my sister said no he's not so we go in the side door she takes him in the back it seemed like hours but it was only minutes one of the doctors comes out and asks could they put IV and oxygen on him at this time I'm on the floor crying save my dog she said good because I've already put it on him they put us in a room about 10 minutes later she comes back out and tells us when she laid him on the table to take an x-ray she said he picked up his tail and wagged it that's when she knew he was a fighter and he was going to be okay. Thanks to Dunbar Animal Hospital Rusty will be 12 years old in May and he is doing fine

Dr Rossi has been my vet She was so compassionate caring and was so strong for me when I decided to have My Pippy put to sleep to stop her suffering. Now she is taking care of my new rescue pup Kizzy and as always she makes sure all your questions are answered and your dog child receives the best care

Only vet that I know of in the area that takes non-emergency walk-ins; however, their system for doing so is slow and takes away from the times they have available for you to make an appointment, so you either have to wait weeks for an appointment or bite the bullet and wait in the parking lot for hours. People abuse the system by calling in prior to arriving, jumping ahead of people who are physically there and waiting. The walk-in system could be improved, either by some kind of app where you can call in but only get in line when you are physically within the area of the vet or by having to physically be there to get in line. Staff seems fine; doctors seem okay but not as friendly or knowledgeable as other vets I've used. They are very quick to do med refills. What they are able to do at their practice seems limited. I've never been inside their facility due to covid.

The staff at the vets clinic were super nice. Not crazy about the wait in the parking lot & having to call in to get in line to be seen. My dog was passing away and I needed help. I was the 2nd car on the lot and ended up with a 2 hour wait & 6th in line. I had been there 30 min. before they opened. When I explained to the girl on the phone, she didn't really seem too concerned and left us sitting there. I was afraid the dog was going to pass away in the car underdress while waiting to be seen. Covid is over enough they need to have a better way to get in.

Well I went for a weekday walk in hour from 8-11. I got there at 9 and left around noon. I had to call them to get in line and I stayed in my car with my cat because of Covid. They called when it was her turn and they got my cat and she had her checkup and shots. The vet called and updated me and gave me information I needed. I hated not being in there with my cat but I understand. I think waiting in the car with my cat for her turn was for the best. Very nice people!

We have been bringing our dachshund puppy Cornbread to your office since he was 6 weeks old and he is now 15 weeks old and he had a visit today which was his fourth one. Everyone that we have spoken to over the phone has been very courteous and kind. If you make an appointment for your pets you will be seen at an appropriate time. The service is extremely great and the Vets are also very nice and concerned about your pet and also ask you if you have any questions that you would like to have answered. We have another appointment for Cornbread in 3 weeks and then after he turns 6 months old we will have him neutered there. Dunbar Animal Hospital with be the place we will always take our pets.

My vet was out of town and it was time to say goodbye to my Athena. They brought is in and were very comforting and understanding. I can't thank them enough for that. I miss my girl, but know she is no longer suffering. This is one hellova caring team.

Amazing caring doctors and staff. I want to thank the entire staff. Our Gracie lost her battle with cancer. Dr Perkins and the staff were so caring. Just received a sympathy card from them signed by the Doctors and staff and the card had her paw print inside. So very touching and so very thoughtful. I would recommend them to any pet owner.

Couldn't go in with my dog Sadie because of Covid but I talked on the phone outside multiple times about her including with the Doctor. They were great with Sadie and me. The price was good for a health checkup including a blood test. I think it was a little over $200. I got charged over $400 for a blood test alone at the animal hospital in Kanawha city 2 years ago. So I'll return to Dunbar from now on.

They have always been so sweet and have took care of all of our furbabies very well. When our cat Jax was attacked by dogs they tried for a whole week to help save him and then it came to the point of quantity vs quality of life. When we put him down we still had over $2000 left on the bill and they were nice enough to offer to erase that debt for us. They have always been caring and helpful with our dog Cache, who has an allergy to everything. My grandmother loved them in the 90's and I love them today! We don't take our babies anywhere else!!!

I introduced my new dog to the doctor here. He was able to get his home again chip put in with no issues. I recommend this place to people if they are looking for a new vet. I have not gone to other places because of how satisfied I am with the service that I have received with both of my animals. They are very kind to animals even when they are a little rude such as my older dog. He does not think that anyone should ever do anything for him which I think is quite funny. Yet whenever he sees his doctor he is very excited until it's his turn for his check up.

Dr. Grady and Dr. Rossi were so helpful with my geriatric cat. Even though we ended up putting her down, they were very kind and supportive. They helped us set up cremation and even made a keepsake of her paws for me to keep. Also much less expensive than other vets I've been to. Very professional, very clean, I basically have nothing bad to say about this place! Highly recommended!

These folks have been nothing but wonderful since we got our retired racing greyhound. They have been beyond helpful and patient answering questions. And after a stitch opened back up after surgery, they fixed her up and only charged us for a round of antibiotics.

To long of wait when you go there and you can get through to them when you get out front with your animals I get there at 8am but not get anyone one phone at hospital to let them know I'm out front with my dog I go early so I can be one of first one to be seen but then other people show you can be there early but still not seen for long while I think some people going there and get treatment like they are put in front of the line because I got early in morning and I wait for someone to come out to get my dog and some people just pull up and someone will come out to get dog and it suppose to be first come first serviced but that's not true it's not first come first seen its who you know and who know you

They contacted me when my missing cat was found after one of their clients brought it in and the microchip was scanned. Am grateful to have located her but the client has yet to turn over the cat. Well can't hold that against Dunbar Animal Hospital, not their fault that one of their patrons is some crazy old lady is a has decided to be a thief.

Very nice and caring staff. I took my teacup chihuahua Skye in so sick she could hardly move. Shw was throwing up and had diarrhea. She was diagnosed with Parvo and I wa so scared because most dogs do not survive this terrible illness. My ba y was hospitalized for 4 days with iv fluids and antibiotics she slowly started to get better and on the 4th day I was able to bring her home. I was able to call and check on her all hours of the day as many times as I wanted and they were always so very nice when I called. I want to thank the wonderful staff for taking such good care of my baby. I would recommend them 100 times.

Always can get in to see one of several vets. We inherited our Taco and travel to this vet office that has seen him since he was weeks old. They are not set up for advanced surgeries for knee caps but refer to the best in the area if a specialist is needed. Tender loving care from everyone in the office. Mornings for walkins. My Pitt has a shrunken head, DR Witt advice me to a out of state Vet that specializes in this condition after one blood test that came back negative, she said she would put money into specialist instead of wasting money on a maybe test, so instead of milking me for more money they are honest and fair, I have taken a few dogs her over the past several years and no complaints here

Dr. Banning is a pure saint! Dr. Rossi......not so much. She is very condescending and rude. Wouldn’t take my cat to her on a dare but I’m thinking she’s a dog lover and doesn’t care for cats. In any event I have had no issues whatsoever with any other vet. They are all wonderful. With one exception.

I don’t have enough good things to say about Dr Bannon and his staff. I’ve been taking our pets to Dunbar Animal Hospital for about a year (since we’ve been in West Virginia). We have 4 dogs and 2 cats. I wouldn’t think of going elsewhere. Dr. Bannon has a true gift with animals.
