The Cross Lanes vet did an excellent job with my cat, Vader. They were able to accommodate a walk-in even with several appointments already scheduled. While there was a little bit of a wait, that's more than understandable for a walk-in, and I noticed that the people that did have appointments were pretty much being seen right away once they got there for their scheduled time. I really like that this vet has a waiting room that is separated for dogs and cats. My cat is not a fan of dogs at all, and it was great that he didn't have to see them for longer than it took to get them checked in (although a few people didn't notice the large signs designating the areas hanging from the ceiling. Maybe a sign on the floor would be more noticeable?). They also have the option to stay in your car and come pick up your animal when your appointment time comes up. My cat wasn't very well behaved, unfortunately. But the vet was able to give him a light sedative and still be able to see him and help him. I'm glad they're able to accommodate animals of all dispositions to be able to see them. Pricing was fair based on other vets I've seen in the past. I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a good vet who can see you quickly and provide great service.

Dr McNeel is the best! My 7 yr old goldendoodle tore his ACL. Dr. McNeil performed a TPLO procedure. 3 days post op he started having diarrhea. Dr.McNeil returned my call that night and ordered him medicine. The recovery and follow up visits were great. The staff is so passionate and loving to all the fur babies. It is really nice to not be just a number.

Cross Lanes Veterinary Hospital was not my regular vet, but the positive experience I had with them has convinced me to switch. I needed an international health certificate to travel abroad with my two cats. Dr. Smith cooperated with me to complete this rather daunting task with patience, support and perseverance every step of the way. The staff monitored the situation and called me regularly with updates, doing everything they could do accomplish the task in the short time frame available. CLVH now has a new and loyal customer!

Our dog Marley got out of our yard and was hit by a car, her leg was broken very badly. Dr McNeel did surgery on her and she is doing great! It was well worth the drive from Mid-Michigan to have my Boston Terrier's surgery performed by Dr. McNeel and the outstanding Team at Cross Lanes Veterinary Hospital. This option literally saved months of time and the costs were about 1/2 of what I was quoted here in Michigan. Everyone who I met and talked to was outstanding. Absolutely wonderful .Would only trust the best to take care of our Blueheeler Maggie. This veterinarian hospital came highly recommended by our veterinarian clinic to have orthopedic surgery that was needed ASAP. We were able to have her seen and surgery scheduled that day .They showed such compassion and we now have our Blueheeler home recovering .This means the world to us and our younger blueheeler Minnie ! Thank you Dr. McNeal and your caring staff ! Update 1/8/21 Maggie is getting much stronger and has taken a few steps on her own ! We are giving her physical therapy everyday

Deff far better place then Avalon or gateway the staff was very friendly and u understanding so sweet and kind. Unfortunately our fur baby didn’t make it but she was 14 years old and she was having kidney failure and there wasn’t really anything anyone could do for her. They did make a clay memorial of her front paws for my bf as a keepsake it was only 22$ and they even gave him a bag for her burial it was so sweet. Deff will b bringing the rest of our fur babies here if needed.

I love this practice! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Continuing Education is a priority at this clinic, which allows a collaborative, progressive atmosphere among the tech and doctors. Being a Fear Free Certified clinic is also important to me. It means vet visits are going to incorporate compassion for my dogs’ emotions. The staff will take their time to ensure my dogs aren’t too stressed out and use lots of rewards during exams. Most of the time I have to drag my dogs out of the clinic. While CLVH might be slightly more expensive than other clinics in the area, I feel it is worth it with the type of care my dogs receive. It is also apparent that their staff is treated very well with genuinely happy faces and kindness every time I walk in the door.

I have never taken my pets to Cross Lanes Veterinary Hospital without being completely sure that they will be safe and well taken care of. They are so good to my pets that they aren't a bit afraid to go into the back to be checked out. They are professional and reliable. When three of my puppies ended up with parvo the vets took good care of them and they all came home well and are still with me.

When I got my Husky Kita in 2018, I'd taken her several times to another bet and they never did figure out what was wrong. I took her to Cross Lanes and they finally found a parasite and put her on medication. Three years later my girl is happy and healthy, I'll never take her anywhere else. Well we drove 4 hours to cone and get this surgery done on our girl Daphne. All the places in Ohio were at least $2000 more. We love our dog but didn't have the money to spend really. Its been about 3 and a half weeks now and shes doing great. Shes trying to play more than she should but recovery is going well.

People are very nice. Had my dog euthanized. Would have been a glowing 5 star review but afterwards I found that I had to pay an additional $140 because they didn't explain the cremation process and sent my dog to a funeral home instead of processing in house. Then when I called to ask about that I was told I was also charged a $55 exam fee. No exam happened. I brought my dog in to be put down and cremated for $135. I ended up paying almost $300. They did credit me the exam fee back though. I don't think they were being shady, I just think it was a mistake coupled with not explaining their services and prices very well. Again, though, very kind people. I would go back again.

We recently had to make an emergency visit here when our usual vet was out of the office and our cat, out of the blue, started having (what seemed to be) a seizure. Another vet's office we were referred to refused to even see our cat based on the symptoms. But Cross Lanes not only accepted us as a walk-in, but rushed him into the back. Their only doctor was in surgery but still spared the time to quickly diagnose him. Turns out our cat was not having a seizure but blew a blood clot, the entire back half of his body became paralyzed, and would be in constant pain. The doctor who saw us was blunt but professional and very kind, and did offer alternate solutions but let us know he probably wouldn't gain movement back and would still be in pain. We ultimately decided to put him down. Staff was so kind and understanding through the whole process and even had the option to get a very reasonable ceramic paw print impression (which we did opt for). They also had a candle in the front that they lit in honor of patients that just passed away, which was lit before we even returned to the lobby. All in all, though it wasn't a pleasant occasion, I was incredibly impressed with their service and would absolutely recommend again. Thanks to the staff that so patiently helped us through losing Penguin.

My cat, Bruce, is hands down my best friend! He became very ill do to a blockage when he urinated. I cannot express how thankful I am to the team at CLVH.... from the girls at the front desk, to the, vet assistants, to Dr. McNeal, Dr. Leadmon, and Dr. Armentrout. They all gave him outstanding care and attention. He spent many days and night with them and I had no worries that he was in good care. They kept me updated morning, noon, and night; and also called once he returned home to check on him. I'm so thankful I made the switch a few months ago when I unhappy with the care from another vet with my other cat. Thank you CLVH for making my baby feel so much better!

My German Shepherd has been going to Cross Lanes Vet for over a year and half. She was 8 years old when we started going to treat her arthritis. Wonderful place! Vet was patient, answering all questions, not rushing through, very caring. Took us on time, loved it. Only bad thing I have to say is that the vet assistant wasn't friendly, and my kitty's condition was kinda nasty, but we were taken aback just by the grimacing on her face. If you're going to work with animals, you're going to be in these kinds of situations, so if you really feel that way, maybe that's not the job for you. Giving the benefit of the doubt, this was the first time I saw her and everyone has a bad day.

I cannot count the ways the Doctors and Staff at the Cross Lanes Vet Hospital have helped me over the years. A couple of events do stand out a bit more than others. We had a dog named Pepper that got hit by a car. The vet that was closest to our home said there was nothing they could do for her since her hip was in pretty bad shape. We took her to Cross Lanes and they checked her out. They were able to do surgery on her that allowed her to be the border collie that she was. It was very amazing and they were just wonderful in the follow up care needed for her. Another incident that is etched in my mind is my girl Annie who developed mammary cancer. She went through 2 major surgeries in as many years and then during the 3rd year after her diagnosis, she had a large cancerous mass on her liver. The doctors and technicians did not make any recommendations on what I should do but when I made the decision that she could not go through any more pain, they took over. I think there must have been 2 doctors and 2 technicians in the room with me when I made that decision and every one of us was crying. They took care of my girl in such a wonderful manner that I knew I would keep on going to this facility with all of my pets for a long while (and I do have a large number of dogs and one cat). I think just these 2 events show that this is a facility with doctors that are trained to do the unusual while at the same time, they actually CARE about both the pet and the owners. I doubt that I could find a place that has worked with me so well over the past 20 years to keep my pets healthy!

I honestly love Cross Lanes Veterinary Hospital. I've got two of my five cats (I know, I know) in their system and plan to take the other three soon. They aren't very expensive, as when I took my male cat to get fixed it was half the price of other vets near here that had awful, awful reviews. They also have such a nice staff who seems really interested in helping the animals. That being said, I just wish they accepted the pet assure that I have, but I don't really fault them for that. If you're looking for a safe, reasonably priced, nice vet this is it.

I have been taking my vets to CLVH for about a year, after switching vets. My previous vet said that my dog needed a risky surgery to correct a condition that may have left my dog incontinent, and he refused to try a more conservative approach. However, Dr. McNeel even suggested the conservative treatment first and performed it in his office, and now my dog is fine! I would highly recommend this veterinary practice to all pet owners! Great facilities, professional and friendly staff, and great communication.

He visits them if he can...lol- I appreciate their kind "bed-side" manners because they understand that our pets are members of our family and they treat them as so...I've even had to put a few pets "asleep" and they handle the situation as professionally and courteously as possible. They respect the grief aspect and make the experience as loving as possible for the parent. In my opinion, Cross Lanes Veterinary Hospital is the only choice in the Valley. I've brought my pets here for over 20 years. McNeil and Armentrout are my favorites but they have a wait time even with appointments because they manage animal parents as much as treating the animal. There are many other great vets here, Dascoli, Smith, Warner are examples. I see a number of complaints on this board about costs, but I've been to other vets in the area that charge as much and don't have resources and technology available. You have to ask questions about treatment options and do some research and make your own decisions. There have been times, this clinic has referred us to Ohio State and Virginia Tech because they thought those schools would provide better care. My pets are my fur babies and I will do anything for them. This clinic has a wonderful support staff and I can't thank them enough

the best vet that I’ve found out of all three states me and my dog have lived in. I recommend this vet to everyone I know and just had to leave a review. They are so kind and understand. My dog has separation anxiety and they went out of there way to make sure she was comfortable even if they had to give her more attention. They don’t care what breed your puppy dog is they treat them all the same. Honestly my girl had to under go a difficult surgery but they did great job and they called me every step of the way because i was never able to leave her alone for the whole 6years because of her separation anxiety. They had her out of there within a couple few hours. And recovered within a week with no complications ! Thank you guys so very much for taking care of my lada!

My pets have been coming to CLVH for quite awhile. We have been thru the best and worst. We have had to euthanize pets because of disease and serious illness (beyond any treatments). We have taken our pets for wellness and shot visits and those few times of "OMG what is wrong with my baby (pet)!!" visits. NEVER have we found a more caring facility and staff and more upfront and direct group of doctors. Doctors McNeel and Armentrout have been especially awesome over the years. The doctors explain issues and give best courses of treatment if necessary. The most painful moments I have ever had with pets, these doctors were caring, sympathetic and most importantly, honest with diagnoses. I've been to other vets in the surrounding area, this is by far the best facility for pets. These group of people care about animals.

My dog had cataract surgery a few months ago on both eyes and one of his eyes became badly irritated out of nowhere while we were in West Virginia visiting our family for Christmas. The Cross Lanes Veterinary Hospital was quick to fit him in the schedule even though they were super busy. Landon saw Dr. Hedrick who was extremely professional and great with him. She stayed with us even after hours and gave his eyes a very thorough examination. The meds she prescribed cleared him up within a couple of days! She also worked to get us in at a nearby opthamology clinic as we were 13 hours away from his usual opthamologist. Thanks so much for all of your all's hard work! The staff's love of animals is truly apparent at this clinic. Every single person I encountered was extremely friendly and helpful. We have also taken three cats there over the same period of time, two of which had to be put down in their later years. My wife and I have two very active bird dogs that we hunt. Both of these Brittany's are full of excitement that makes them a joy to train and hunt over. West Virginia forests that hold ruffed grouse and woodcock are challenging to dogs and hunters and both of our dogs have been well cared for by almost the entire staff at Cross Lanes Veterinary Hospital. Our dogs are not hesitant about a visit to the Vets there, and in fact, even though they have been sutured, stitched and vaccinated many times usually arrive with stubbed tails wagging. Both of the dogs have been patients at Cross Lanes since we got them as pups from different kennels in Kentucky. One is now seven years of age and the other is four. As these female dogs age the Veterinarians at Cross Lanes watch their progress; what we love the most is how they use the latest in vaccination technology to protect our dogs. They were one of the first in the valley to use 3 year rabies vac's. Do we have a favorite Vet at the hospital? No, but we do have a favorite animal hospital and clinic and it is Cross Lanes Veterinary Hospital.

Cross Lanes Veterinary Hospital has got to be my favorite! Every employee, both techs and doctors, has a lovely way with frightened animals. I've only found one doctor who was a bit reluctant to handle my Siamese. To be fair, the breed has a reputation for difficulty, but once he saw what a pussycat she was, he did a great job for us. The fees are reasonable for this area, even when you have a cat stay over the weekend. I can't recommend them enough!

DOG: Around 2010, I took my gr Nugget to see Dr. McNeel. Nugget needed a TTA (Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) is one of the newest method for repairing the canine knee with a torn ACL ligament) surgery which was done on the other leg the year before at a well known place in Columbus. He recovered very quickly resulting from Dr. McNeel's work and had the exact same procedure done AND the cost was less. He walked without a limp the next day but at the 'other' place he whimpered and cried all the way home and was limping for days afterwards from that first surgery from the' other' vet. Dr. McNeel is very, very good at this surgery and does several per week. CAT: A couple of weeks ago, I took my 13 year old Norwegian Forest cat Princess to see Dr. Smith due to her gagging issues, not eating her dry food and her voice was changing. She was diagnosed with Stage 2 Renal failure and a battery of tests were done to determine a generic data base and to see if anything abnormal showed up. I feel Dr.Smith is very thorough and her assistant was very gentle and loving towards my cat who's stomach area is uncomfortable. She is on KD canned food mixed with other soft food and Princess for some odd reason, isn't having the voice issues but she still looks at dry food (other pet's) and wants it but still won't eat it. Something more is going on and our next step is a GI scope. I trust these two vets with serious issues regarding my animal children's health even though it is close to an hour drive from the farm.

We recently had both our dogs teeth cleaned at CLVH. Once again the work was excellent as performed by Dr. Dascoli but this is nothing new. This entire staff of doctors and office staff personnel are outstanding. After more than 20 years with this group and multiple fracture repairs, etc. we have learned that they truly care about your pets and when you hurt over sickness or injuries with your pets you can sense that they really do "feel your pain". In 2013, my cat had both Struvite and Oxalate bladder stones. I had been taking my cat to another vet without much success. I then took him to Cross Lanes Vet Hospital for an ultrasound. The doctors at CLVH quickly determined what was going on and recommended surgery. The surgery was successful but my cat's kidneys did not wake up from surgery. A real emergency. The folks at CLVH put my cat into intensive care, hooked him up to IVs and other equipment, and got his kidneys going again. An absolute miracle. If I would have taken my cat anywhere else the results would likely have been much different and I would not have my cat today. I now take my cat to CLVH for all of his medical needs. I have really become an unofficial salesperson for this place as I tell anyone and everyone that I speak with about animals how great CLVH is.

My beautiful cavalier King Charles spaniel dearly loved coming to see his favorite vet, Dr McNeel, weekly over the last many months. Our 2 year old Dobermen female got very ill on Christmas night. We took her to the emergency clinic in Spring Hill and they x-rayed her and was guessing she had an intestinal blockage or tumor. They re-hydrated her and when they opened in the morning, we took her to Cross Lanes Vet Hospital, she was a very, very sick Doberman. After exam and looking at the x-rays, they were not sure what was wrong in her intestines but Doctor Allan McNeel recommended exploratory surgery and that she was near death. They laid out the costs and we decided to try to save our Baby. They found a handful of rubber balls chunks blocking her intestines, they removed them and put her back together. 2 weeks later Dr McNeel removed the staples and our Baby is back to her old self, bouncing off the walls, playing and being a young Doberman but without anymore rubber balls to ingest. The Cross Lanes Vet Hospital and Doctor McNeel saved our Dobermans life, was upfront on her chances to survive, was upfront on the costs, treated us kindly with compassion and took very good care of our Dog. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Our family lived in Cross Lanes for 20 years and now in Winfield, WV, for 12 years! We started going to the Cross Lanes Animal Hospital back in 1986! We had a mix, female Beagle / Basset Hound (LuLu) treated there for 17 years! At the same time, we had a large Kitty (male) (Gus) that was treated there for many years! We had a registered 13" female Beagle (Daisy) for 15 years! After moving from Cross Lanes to Winfield, my daughter's female registered Bassett Hound (Honey) and my female Beagle (Suzy), are still treated there! We had to have LuLu put to sleep while in Cross Lanes and after moving to Winfield, WV, Daisy had to be put to sleep too! The cross Lanes Animal Hospital gave us a plastic bag, with Daisy"s Paw Print in the bag! These people are very professional and very personable too, our friendship is in it's 32 year!

My long hair Chihuahua - GCH JJ Carolina Lily - jumped down the porch steps and ripped her ACL. Dr McNeal repaired it, she recovered complete mobility, and then she ripped it again. When he checked her after this, the repair was damaging the bone, so the vet replaced the ACL. Since that time, Lily has gone on to win her grand championship! On Lily's last visit, Dr. Armentrout was impressed by Lily's physical condition. Do you know how small an ACL is on a 4 lb Chihuahua?
