My puppy has been going here for 4 months now. Really kind staff and very professional vet who asks questions that instill confidence. Dr. Chopra even found a tiny umbilical hernia that was missed by 4 other vets my dog had seen during the adoption process and then for vaccines with me prior to my first well appointment at East Boston Animal Hospital. Very approachable and my pup likes it there. I also like that they have the capability to do surgery there and have after hours emergency also. I’d rather, if my pup needed, to see someone who was familiar with him or that vet decides to refer for specialty care if necessary. That way my dog and me are comfortable and have rapport in the event of an emergency. They are doing renovations currently, and I don’t know if that impacts the waiting area or not— but the shape of the waiting room doesn't allow for much space. If you have a reactive dog you might want to see the space or discuss with the staff to arrange an appointment during a non-hectic time. So far I have only been in for early appointments and it is usually all puppies first thing in the morning, all well behaved. I recommend! Oh I almost forgot, pricing is very fair. They don't charge an office visit if it is just shots etc w a tech. They are responsive and kind. And my puppy wiggles his brains out for the vet techs he has had in the past for shots etc, so I know he was treated well when he was taken back for his shots!

My 🐕 dog of 5 years always happy & jumping around the house suddenly was limping. I brought him to East Boston Animal Hospital & immediately they squeezed us in. Dr Chopra 🩺 & the staff ⚕️ aside from Professional are 100% animal loving people, from the front desk to the technician they took great care of my Miguelito and I was happy to find out all he needed was a nail trimming he had a hangnail. They could have charged anything they wanted for an emergency but the pricing was fair and the peace of mind they gave me was priceless. Thank You Dr & Team!!!

My dog and I LOVE East Boston Animal Hospital! I've been taking my dog here for 2+ years and they've always treated her like part of their own family. They truly care for the animals and ensure your pet is comfortable and well taken care of. Dr Chopra and all the staff members were amazing. Very nice people. Very convenient. Have talked with other people who think it's to expensive and charge for every little thing. Everything is expensive today, if your a true dog person, then it's family and you would not complain for medical treatment. Since when have we been charged for only some of the services the vet does on our dogs.

Everyone is super friendly and helpful. They don’t try to upsell you on things you don’t need like some offices do and their prices are very reasonable. Best veterinary office I have found for my fur babies (Cat and dog).

Unfortunately we had to put our 11 year old dog Diesel down. He was very ill with complications from Diabetes. Dr. Chopra tried everything to save him but Diesel was too old and weak to fight back. He had the same issue almost 4yrs ago and Dr. Chopra was able to save him. So we are thankful for the extra years we had with our baby Diesel. I would highly recommend Dr. Chopra and his staff. Thank you!

I like how well they took care of my elderly cat, they did great dental work. However you have to wait a minimum of 30 min for every appointment. Seem disorganized. Like another review said, they seem to have way too many animals they are servicing for their small operation.

I took one of my dogs here for the first time the day she passed away and they were amazing on how they treated her they also explained everything to my dad and now I’ve been taking my other pups here. They’re very kind except for one of the ladies at the desks

For my first experience, they were kind, and respectful. The doctor was very informative. I will say the wait was long but all my interactions with the staff was nothing but respectful.

I came here with my dog on New Year's Eve for an emergency visit (he was having diarrhea for 3x days). I called every other vet location near me and no one was taking patients. East Boston Animal Hospital was different. Their receptionist was very kind, professional, and answered my questions. After this initial impression, I decided to take him in. While the streets in the area were a little confusing to navigate, parking wasn't hard to find. After making my way inside and meeting the Vet (Dr. Raman Chopra), I felt I made the right decision. Not only did he see my dog after only a short wait, but he took the time to answer all my questions and wasn't trying to push for more testing. He explained what he felt was the most likely diagnosis and made me feel at ease. Despite the distance, I will most likely be transferring the care of my beloved dog here. Top to bottom, from the receptionist, to the Vet tech, to the Vet, I highly recommend East Boston Animal Hospital. My pup needed to get his regular examination and yearly vaccinations in October. Being new in the area I was looking for a good Animal Hospital but in vain. I called several vets in the area(sorted by distance) but no one had any free slots until next year and some of them just blantly cut the call. Then one day suddenly I just came across East Boston Animal Hospital, I called and wallaa! Not only did I get an appointment but they were kind enough to adjust the timings as per my request. We had our 1st visit 1. Welcoming people at reception 2. Dr. Chopra and his assistant dr were amazing with the dog 3. Quick and informative 4. Very well handled the whole visit!! 100% recommended

Highly recommend! One of the worst things about moving to a new area is finding a new vet, and I was super lucky to stumble on East Boston Animal Hospital! The staff is extremely friendly and the vet is super knowledgeable and helpful. We've been bringing our cat to East Boston Animal Hospital for a few years now, and we've have had nothing but great experiences. Their prices are fair, the techs are very kind and skilled, and Dr. Chopra is clearly very knowledgable, compassionate, and pragmatic. Even our very old and grouchy cat is a big fan of Dr. Chopra!! Most importantly, she survived a life-threatening health scare a few years ago because of his extremely prompt and thorough emergency care. She stayed in the hospital for about a week to recover, during which time they helped me visit her, answered all my worried questions, and cared for her as if she was their own. Again, I can't speak highly enough of the level of care provided at East Boston Animal Hospital!

Great vet office, they booked an appointment within the week. However I am a concerned about the price. The first visit was close to 200$, there are 4 visits remaining to get a puppy up to date with his vaccinations.. Does it usually cost 800$ to vacvinate a puppy?

They try to get you in here if you have an emergency + they can handle a lot of emergencies during business hours. The downside is that they accommodate a lot of animals and have no respect for client schedules and time--never an acknowledgement or apology for hour+ waits. Give yourself 2 hours for all appointments. Dr. Chopra is a kind and skilled veterinarian.

The care was excellent and the new vet that interacted with Freya was very knowledgeable. I have gone their for the past 17 years. The issues I have is that I am constantly waiting 30+ minutes for my appointment and, very recently, I have had a past due amount that was supposed to be removed because it was a mistake, but got charged for it anyway and no one could remove it. They gave me credit for it for next visit but it should have been removed 4 visits ago.

Had a great experience at EB Animal Hospital. I brought my two newly adopted kittens in for their second Distemper shot and a wellness visit. The staff (including Dr. Sawyer, the Vet Techs, and the Receptionist/Office Manager) were friendly, clearly loved animals, and had great answers to my questions. Dr. Sawyer showed his love of animals by thoroughly checking the kittens in every way while relaying stories of his own pets and stories of being a Vet for over 20 years. My kittens had no fear of anyone in there and loved showing themselves off to staff and other customers. The only shocking thing was the bill, but I also realize that the first year of any animals life is very expensive as they are getting all the vaccinations and being checked to make sure everything is progressing normally. Thank you to all staff!!

The staff here are excellent: friendly, professional and true animal lovers. They have some thoughtful operational processes like email reminders/confirmations of appointments, etc. They always remember me and my dog's name, which is much appreciated. The doctor is very good and has a way with my dog. It's a touch expensive, but the location is very convenient so I don't mind that.

Just two days after losing my sister to cancer, I had to put my 16 year old cat "down". She had been declining for months and, unfortunately, I couldn't put it off any longer. The staff at the East Boston Animal Hospital were compassionate, caring and professional. When I adopted my cat Shiloh two years ago, I chose the East Boston Animal Hospital because it was conveniently located and seemed to have good reviews. I haven't been disappointed! It's easy to get to by T or by car, especially if you're an East Boston resident and can park anywhere, and everyone I've dealt with there since has been extremely friendly to both me and my cat. She's not a fan of car rides and often, let's say, makes a mess. When I get her here, they clean her up a bit and even trim her nails- another thing she hates. I also like that they have convenient hours- that was important to me since I work a regular 9 to 5 job. This place has Saturday hours and evening hours two nights a week which is great. I've never had trouble finding a good time.

I took my sick kitty Olive here and tragically, found out that she had kidney failure and was going to have to be put down. Even though I was an absolute wreck, the doctors and vet techs were all incredibly sympathetic to me and gave me ample time and room to ask questions. They were wonderfully supportive and informative and I truly feel, as horrible as this all was, that I could not have asked for a better environment and staff to help make the end of Olive's life as easy and painless as possible. Highly recommend the TLC given here.

We have been taking both our cat and our dog to the East Boston Animal Hospital since we moved here about 4 years ago. We've had a a couple fairly large medical problems with both pets, and each time the entire staff at the East Boston Animal Hospital has been amazing. In particular, they have been incredibly accommodating of our very fearful rescue dog, who gets extremely stressed by strangers. The vet techs always approach her slowly and calmly, and try to ease her into everything (Maria and Guilia in particular, but really all of them have been great!) and Dr. Sawyer is so relaxed with her, and really takes everything slowly to keep her as calm as possible. As other reviewers have mentioned, yes, it is a bit expensive, and they do have products that they would like to sell; however, in our experience, they've always asked before they do anything, and Dr. Sawyer has always been able to explain to us why he recommends a procedure or product. In sum, yes it's expensive, but for us they've been awesome and completely worth it!

It would be responsible of the vet staff to inform pet owners a Breakdown of additional costs associated with a standard check up. I felt like I was “dooped” into unnecessary tests that added an additional 90 dollars to my bill. Doctor was understanding and removed the charge but was uneasy about it.

They are very good here can be a little pricy if testing needs to be done. I have taken all my pets here and just recently my puppy... That almost slept through his whole exam. Would definitely recommend.

They gave him the typical round of shots and made sure he was healthy. Last week I noticed my dog was bleeding from the back of his mouth. I called East Boston Animal Hospital and they said they could fit me in that day to get it resolved. They thought he broke a tooth but it was hard to see because he wouldn't let me hold his mouth open so they could get a look. Originally the vet said I could come back the next day so they could do a surgery to extract the tooth. Doc Sawyer saw that my dog was bleeding and offered to do the surgery right then instead of taking his lunch break. I could tell that everyone in the hospital really cared about my dog and his health. I was really impressed that they pitched in to help him instead of taking their lunch breaks and having me come back the next day. Doc Sawyer even called the next morning to check in and make sure that the bleeding had stopped. Gir is feeling much better now. I've been taking him to EBAH for most of the 11 years that I've had him, and wouldn't take him anywhere else. Thank you, EBAH, for your great customer service and for taking such good care of Gir for me!

I can't say enough about Dr. Sawyer and his team. I had to rush my kitty, Stewie, to the doctors last Friday. He was close to death (crystals in his urine). On top of all that he developed a respiratory infection. It was touch and go for 5 days. Dr. Sawyer saved his life. He went above and beyond the call of duty to keep me informed.
