A family member recently passed away and I took in her 3 beautiful cats. When I got their health records, I called Meridian Veterinary Hospital to have their records put in my name. They were very nice and handled the update and explained some of the things in their records concerning their health. They emailed me when it was time for a checkup so I took one of the kitties in this past week. The clinic is very clean and tidy, and the staff were very nice. Dr. Eklund was so very gently and firm, easy to talk to, and my kitty responded very well to her. I will happily continue to take them to Meridian Veterinary Hospital.

I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my dogs. They care they provide is extraordinary. They have been my vet of choice for 3 different dogs over. We’ve been coming here for 3 years. Making an appointment is easy, I rarely have to wait to be able to speak with someone when I call. You are warmly greeted and helped right at your appointment time. While there isn’t a specific Veterinarian that we see each visit, every one that has helped has been great! The techs are awesome as well! Thank you for taking care of us!

I picked this Veterinary because of the reviews, the bios of the staff and they made an effort to fit me in the schedule, plus they do follow up calls. I have been bringing my pets here for years. All of the vets are so caring and thorough. I never feel rushed. My dogs love going here! My twelve year old Boston has heart problems that have been treated with great success. She is doing so much better. They also helped her years back with a bladder issue. What seemed like a house training problem was actually a reaction to her food. A new diet immediately solved the problem. I really trust the completeness of their care.

This place is wonderful. We took our dogs there for years and walked through dog hospice with an amazing vet! Now we have a new girl and we returned to this trusted source for advice, assurance of her health and her shots. I have always gone to Dr. Fisher for my cat Miso, she is very knowledgeable on cats and their behavior. He is a very anxious cat and he actually really enjoys seeing her at the vet! Dr Fisher has been able to answer my questions and concerns very quickly and spends a lot of time making sure she explains everything you need to know, even if the fall is after the vet hours . You can tell she cares greatly about what she does for her career.

I'm giving the benefit of the doubt here. I was actually turned away by the receptionist, "due to 'overbooking' ". I had taken my seriously ill (c.h.f./heart murmur, lethargic, and drooling), dog in, to try to find out what was wrong with him. I really want to believe that it wasn't because I was poorly groomed/dressed that Riley and I were sent away from the Meridian Veterinary Hospital instead of being welcomed, and treated. A very large thank you to the staff of the Idaho Humane Society Veterinary Clinic for their kind, and (presumably), gentle (not to mention "above and beyond"), ministrations to, and for Riley.

They have always been great! They genuinely seem to care about your fur children. I’ve been able to get in quickly when needed and scheduled reasonably. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. I have seen a variety of veterinarians and our primary veterinarian, Dr. Heitman. Experience has been great every time. They do not try to push unnecessary treatment or tests and are very clear to help you make an informed and educated decision.

Amazing!!!!! We went to the West Vet hospital with our Yorky she was shaking so bad and panting to the point she was having trouble breathing and her condition was not getting better. We spent roughly 3 hours there. We felt that it was more important for them to try to up sale us with MRIs, blood tests etc. I chose to wait a day and take our fur baby to Meridian Vetenarin to see Dr. Anthony he was amazing and my Yorky is doing better then expected for such a short time. He didn’t try to convince us that she needed an MRI or a blood test. Our baby is doing so good today we are really excited about the results Dr Anthony was able to apply for her. We just moved here about a year ago and I’m pretty picky about vets because of a bad experience in the past. I wanted to feel secure with my dogs safety and health, and this place is amazing. Sammy (my dog) is usually very uncomfortable around men, but Dr. Heitman calms his anxiety and mine at the same time. Great staff. The vet was nice and helpful. The only complaint is that my husband filled out the paperwork so he should be first on the file. They put me since I had taken one of my dogs there. I called to have it changed and the girl was a little rude Nd said it was. I called a few weeks later and it wasn't but this time a girl (not sure if it was the same person or not) fixed it and said it was hard to find. Shouldn't be rude for such a simple thing.

I cannot recommend Meridian Veterinary Hospital enough. I had an emergency situation with my 12 week old puppy and even though they were not my primary vet, they squeezed me in and took care of my sweet puppy! Luckily, everything was okay, but just to be sure they gave my pup an exam and gave me some advice and meds. Their customer service and professionalism was top-notch, and I seriously am so grateful for them. Thank you MVH!

Absolutely love this place and wouldn’t take my cat and dog anywhere else they love it here. They really put in the time and effort to make sure your animal is well taken care of. Had an urgent matter with jelly and they were able to squeeze her in that day and help her while doing Riley’s vaccines as well the same visit.

My doberman ate one of my daughters socks that would not pass through his system and he became seriously ill. when I contacted the office about his condition they responded promptly getting him in. Entire staff has professional and caring, he ended up having to have surgery and was at the clinic three days. They kept me informed every day of his prognosis I couldn’t of picked a better office to take care of his condition and I know we have found his veterinarian for all of his needs in the future. When my beloved Joe crossed the Rainbow Bridge, Dr. Albrecht took the time to call and share her sympathies with me. She did not rush me off the phone but really cared and listened as I grieved. Even though my dog was not an established patient, they were able to see her the day after I called! I was able to enter the office and stay with my dog, unlike other places that make you wait in your car for, possibly, hours on end. After a short wait, the vet came in. Very nice, friendly and down to earth. She examined my dog, called in some prescriptions to Costco and I was on my way!

This is one of the best vets I’ve ever been to! Every vet there is amazing and they listen to all of your concerns. We are first time puppy owners and we have so many questions/concerns. We are new to the area and had a dog with an injured leg, Meridian Veterinary Hospital was able to get our hurt baby in within a week whereas other offices I called were 3 weeks to a month out. Not only did they get our pet in in a timely manner, but the care we received from our initial greeting , through our thorough and attentive visit with the vet, Dr Higer, to our check-out was a perfectly professional and pleasant experience. The doctor specializes in acl surgeries and does not refer out which is one of the reasons we chose his office. He treated us as if we were his one and only priority while we had our animals examined. We received an information page on any vaccines and medications our pets received upon check out so there were no questions left unanswered. We subsequently had two of our other dogs in for exams and vaccinations and Dr. Higher and his staff were consistently excellent in customer care. We are absolutely grateful to have found a vet for our beloved pets and highly recommend Dr. Higer at Meridian Veterinarian Hospital.

There was danger that she would transmit whatever it was to her siblings. The whole clinic is wonderful! My little Bernie was diagnosed with Addison’s Disease and Dr. Albrecht has been amazingly patient with my questions & concerns (aka freak-outs). I heard about this vet and was a little hesitant of taking my dog to a vet in general due to a bad experience with my last vet but they were so friendly and patient with my dog who was shaking and scared. They took time to go over the care of your dog and made sure to answer and questions or concerns needed. We just moved to this town two weeks ago and having to find a new vet to replace the the one you have trusted for years in a new town is difficult. Obviously our first time there and they made it so comfortable and easy that it felt like we had been going there for years. Very professional and caring staff and the doctor was great, he explained everything in detail, willingly shared his knowledge and experience and took his time with us, we never felt rushed. We thought our dog was seriously ill since it came on over night but it turns out that he has happy dog syndrome, he sprained his tail near the base of it because he wags his tail so damn hard all the time and he must have hit it against something causing him pain and discomfort. We thought it would be an expensive trip and even after a through examination by the doctor we got out of there for pennies over $100 including a weeks worth of anti-inflammatory medication. We have definitely found our new vet clinic and doctor.

We checked reviews on Meridian Veterinary Hospital and were impressed. Called on a Saturday morning and they were able to fit her in at 10:30. Dr. Fisher is an amazing Vet for all your kitties needs!! I have been with her for over a year now and I strongly recommend her! She has kept mr calm when I had a crisis with my cat and got us through it and now he is alive and doing well. She has helped me when he came up diabetic last year. This is an excellent facility to take your cats and dogs to! We had two separate, serious issues with our two babies (doxies) and they helped resolve both issues and our baby girls are doing fine and enjoying life! Dr. Albrecht is a phenomenal animal care doctor that thoroughly explained everything in a way we could understand and stayed in close contact with us during treatment! We have been clients of Meridian Veterinary Hospital for over 6 years. Dr. Higer has always gone above and beyond, we are grateful for him & his teams expertise. Whether it be regular vet visits to surgery, we have comfort in knowing our dogs are being treated by the best and at a reasonable price. Special mention to Sammie, she’s amazing - always so caring & helpful when we call or come in. Most recently had an odd situation with our 3.5 year old Rottweiler, Finley. Dr. Eklund jumped in to treat her, ultimately finding that other issues were bubbling up, leading us down a different path of diagnosis and treatment. We had a emergency issue arise, resulting in visit to another emergency vets office, which was a terrible experience. Thankful for the after hours chat with Dr. Higer and for Dr. Eklund jumping into to evaluate and resolve the issue. We are beyond grateful for their sincere care and assistance. Can't say enough about this place! It was time to say goodbye to our 13 year old yellow lab, and we didn't have a regular vet. From the moment I called their office, they were kind and compassionate. When we arrived with our dog, we were immediately shown to a comfortable and private room. We have been going to Dr. Higer for eight years. He really cares about the animals he treats and it shows. He is very thorough, knowledgeable and takes his time to explain things. He doesn't run unnecessary tests. I recommend him to people all the time. He isn't at all close to where we live but it's certainly worth the drive. Meridian Veterinary Hospital has been around since 1941 and their strong legacy of care and compassion towards both pets and their humans shows. My parents used to take our cats there when I was growing up, and so my wife and I went to them when our cat, Dora, had what we thought was a bladder infection. Dr Albrecht and the vet techs were kind, professional, and very knowledgeable. Dr Albrecht was thorough in her examinations, and though extremely busy took her time and explained everything in detail. They not only got Dora properly diagnosed and treated (she did not have a bladder infection, but another ailment), but emailed me plenty of useful information, as well as called to followup with me to see how she was doing. One thing I do recommend is that you schedule an appointment for any non-emergency services. With such a long history, they are very popular with pet owners in the area and are constantly busy. Though their lobby was quiet the morning I went in, all their doctors were booked through most of the day, and their phone was ringing constantly. My hat's off to their office assistants, who got almost no reprieve the entire time I was there. Yet they handled the calls, as well as those waiting to check their pets in, with admirable efficiency and courtesy. A big "Thank You" to everyone at Meridian Veterinary Hospital, who we shall continue to use for our pets' care.

One of our dogs had an emergency recently and I was able to get in that day to see her which was a huge relief. When the same dog had painful teeth issues last year, they put her under to clean her teeth and kept us informed of the process all the way through. We sadly had to put down our cat earlier this year and while someone could have come to take care of it at home, they also recommended "Gentle Goodbyes" which we used since they could come sooner.
