I am always impressed with the care my dog receives at Hendricks. I have a Irish Setter that is very uneasy and very low confidence. I have been to numerous “top-notch” vets around the Boise area and many didn’t have the patience to understand my dog. Hendricks takes extra time with him and they know he needs a little extra love for trust. No staff has ever complained to me about my dog being aggressive or a handful instead they say, “Jack did so good today, we are proud of him”, I just really love this vet! Thank you for all you do and keep it up!

Dr. Abbey Burgess is our vet for our new puppy, and she is fantastic! She and both of the vet techs that we often chat with, Matt and Will, are all so patient with us being first time puppy owners. They answer all our questions and don’t make us feel rushed. They took amazing care of our girl when she was spayed and talked us through what was to be expected when they determined a couple of our pup’s teeth needed to be pulled. Hendricks also really cares about your pet. They called the day after the procedure just to check up on Rose and see how she was doing. They also called to check on Rose after we had to take her to an urgent care and they received the records. Thank you to Dr. Burgess, Will, Matt, and the rest of the amazing staff at Hendricks for taking care of our girl!

From the very first phone call seeking information before our first visit, to the warm greeting we received upon arrival, to the expediency of getting us into a room, to meeting the very sweet vet tech, and ultimately Dr. Squires, we were impressed with their warmth, friendliness and professionalism. Dr. Squires was very thorough in his initial exam, and sensitive to the needs of our pup who was feeling somewhat apprehensive given that it was her first time there. He took the time to answer all of our first-timer questions which we really appreciated. Additionally, their prompt, post-visit response in getting us a prescription order that we needed quickly was very impressive given how busy it was that day. All this to say, we feel very comfortable in recommending Hendricks Veterinary Hospital, and look forward to an ongoing relationship with this dedicated group in the years to come!

I have been taking my dog Samson to Hendricks since he was 8 weeks old. The staff has ALWAYS been welcoming, compassionate, prompt, and truly listen to my concerns at every visit. This week, my dog was sick and they were able to fit me in immediately. They were so kind and kept him all day to run tests / get him in tip-top shape so I could go to work without rushing or expediting his care. I knew he was safe and well cared for while there. I cannot recommend Hendricks enough and appreciate all of the staff there, especially Emily and Dr. Patterson!

Yorkie for his initial comprehensive visit and meeting vet tech Emilie and Dr. Patterson, I knew my boy would be in great hands! My dog woke up with an ear and eye infection. Prior to this I knew I wanted to explore a new vet, after calling & them having a full schedule for the day they were able to take him as a "drop off." The lobby and examine rooms were clean & everyone was extremely friendly & helpful. Because I had to drop him off they told me to expect a call in a few hours with updates. The vet called me and talked through his prescriptions and causes. Thank you Hendricks for the great experience, we will be back.

Hendricks Veterinary Hospital and Abbey Burgess, DVM, came highly recommended by my past Veterinarian whom I held in the highest regard but no longer has a general practice. Dr. Burgess is an outstanding Veterinarian who goes the extra mile to take care of my girl Mika. I have actually seen each veterinarian at this practice and all of them all were fantastic. While Dr Burgess was out on leave for a few months, Dr. Patterson took over my girls care and I could not have been happier with her. The technical staff and receptionists are all very friendly capable as well. I highly recommend Hendricks.

We decided to follow our vet who changed her practice location to Hendricks Veterinary Hospital in Boise. I will admit I was nervous due to the extra drive and the change on my fur baby Yoda .However ….I have to say… It was so worth it!! Yoda was happy to see Dr. Lemoine he went right to her and seemed right at home. The staff was extremely friendly when we first came in and got us straight back to a room. I was nervous about switching but I was put at ease as we walked through the door with all the smiles. Thank You it was a great first experience!

I adopted a new doggo from West Valley last week. I called first thing to set an appointment to have her looked over and a baseline health established. The appointment went great. Everyone was glad to meet Bella and made us both feel welcome. Dr. Squires examined Bella and made suggestions for her continued health and answered all my questions. Hendricks Vet Hospital creates a supportive and loving environment for your pets. Our experience with our German Shepherd dog was lovely. She does not like vets offices. She walks in and smells trouble. The staff were so kind and patient with her and her anxiety. Though she continued to be nervous, she sensed the staff was not going to hurt her. I was happy with the wellness exam and I didn't feel like they were pushing anything on me that wasn't necessary.

I've only seen Dr. Davis for my 14 year old Chihuahua and Dacusund (Loki & Brody) and I'M HIGHLY IMPRESSED by his care, kindness, gentleness, professionalism, calmness when the place is FULL of animals needing regular or emergency care when so busy. Most of ALL? His KNOWLEDGE! I respect Dr. Davis as well as fully trust my dog's life and his "quality of life" in Dr.Davis's care..I can't find and don't have a negative thing to say about the entire staff I've seen so far there.

We took our puppy in for its 12 week exam/shots. Our vet, Dr. Burgess, was extremely patient and answered all of our questions. We spent quite a while with Dr. Burgess and she always made us feel as though we were her only clients for the day. I feel it is an added bonus that Dr. Burgess has worked in an animal emergency hospital. Her assistants Matt and Will were also very knowledgable and patient. They both worked extremely well with our pup. They took the time to show us how to properly clean our pups ears and clip her nails. I've had a couple of opportunities to ask questions through their 'Contact Us' section of their website. They are quick to respond with answers to my questions. I am looking forward to many years of working with Hendricks Veterinary Hospital.

We are very fortunate. We have a pediatrician who loves our son and vets who love our dog. If I had to decide who appreciate whom more, I'd have to go with our dog's entourage at Hendrick's. They treat Cowboy like he's family. It's like he has a special place in their hearts, so they give him the VIP treatment. But then I notice that every pet is being treated the same way. We love Hendricks!

I had to take my dog in for an injury from an accident. They took her as a “drop off” because they had no appointments available. She was examined by the veterinarian quickly and he called with treatment plan. It was a very positive experience. His office staff is knowledgeable and explained everything well.

Finding a new vet you can trust is challenging. At other vets I’ve felt rushed, or that my dogs didn’t get a thorough once over. I visibly saw my dogs relax when Dr. Patterson put her hands on my easily excitable and slightly nervous shepherds. She is THOROUGH in her examinations, communicative, and happy to answer any questions. She identified my senior dog’s back issues that I’ve been keeping an eye on and haven’t found an answer for after visiting 3 vets, reviewing X-Rays, and visiting an acupuncturist. Dr. Patterson thoroughly palpitated his back, did some basic neurological tests and gave me good guidance on how to move forward with the issue. The techs at the clinic are so sweet, kind and genuinely love pets. They ALWAYS have your animal’s best interest at heart and are incredibly professional. I am so glad I found such a great clinic to take care of my dogs! Update: 1+ month later. Since our wellness visit I’ve had a routine neuter for my youngest dog and some emergencies with my anxious but loving older shepherd. I have been in a dozen or so times and I’ve called maybe two dozen times. The staff is SO incredible, patient, kind, and follows through with communication with the vet + techs. I KNOW my dog is getting the best care he can have both physically and emotionally with all the love they share with him. I get off the phone and think “I love my vet clinic & vet”. Always 100% positive experiences.

The crew at Hendricks Veterinary Hospital is just the best. My sweet Lotty got something stuck in her paw when we were out for a walk. Even after I got it out she wouldn’t put any weight on it. Even though Dr. Davis was in surgery all day, they said to bring her in and he would take a look at her between surgeries. After a little TLC and some ointment Lotty is back to her old self, and was happy to go on a walk this morning. I won’t take Lotty anywhere else. From the moment you call or walk in the door you’re treated like family. I know if they are treating me that well then they are treating my Lotty even better.

Dr. Patterson is amazing! We came in to the vet as a last minute appointment. Dr. Patterson not only figured out the problem but was able to do the emergency operation our dog needed. We did not know how bad our dog was until we brought him in. Then after the surgery Dr. Patterson called to let us know how our dog was doing and to give us an update, this was later in the evening. Dr. Patterson and her staff worked much longer than they had planned that day to help save our dog. She has been so amazing and attentive to us and our dog. We are so grateful to the amazing staff at Hendricks Veterinary.

My old Vet never really listened and the practice got too big and corporate. I will definitely allow the Vets at Hendricks to treat both dogs and pay for the procedures needed.

My dog was behaving lethargically and not taking treats so I knew something was not right. Though not an emergency I took him to an emergency walk in clinic and waited almost 2 hours without no contact or communication. Hendricks returned my earlier call and suggested I drop my dog off which I did and they got him in and checked him out and called me while the vet was looking at him and gave me 3 options for treatment . Two days later my dog is doing much better. So pleased with the service and care we got !

Our experiences with the doctors, techs and staff have all been very positive, and compassionate. They listen. They respond. And they follow through. Our old doggie is crippled, and they are doing their best to ensure his quality of life for however much time he has left. I took my elderly dachshund here after a poor experience with my previous vet. My girl is terrified of any new place and has been having difficulty with mobility. The staff at this office are WONDERFUL! The tech and vet both took their time with us, making sure she got familiar with them and were gentle. This is my third revision of this review. Once again the staff here is amazing, caring and patient! I’d like to move this to 4.5 stars but that’s not an option. I’m leaving my original review below. I do need to revisit this. These guys really came through when my senior dog had a sudden pain issue. Still, the vets and staff are amazing but the upselling is annoying. I’m adding star. It's a vet. They do what vets do. They seem to care in general and I appreciate that as I am pretty particular about my dog. What I will warn you about are the solicitations. You will get plenty of them from email to calls to upselling during a visit. I just want to take my dog to the vet for what is needed, not for the Kardashian treatment.

We love Hendricks. Can't recommend enough. Besides my own confidence in them and positive experiences, our animals have been through the ringer with Hendricks on their side (emergency surgery for our cat, and spaying our puppy, and shots all around) but both animals are still somehow always happy when they get to go in and say hi to everyone. Dr. Patterson and her assistants were very helpful and they loved our kitten and his Halloween themed collar and harness. They were very gentle and professional. Dr. Patterson is an honest vet that explains everything and asks for your input before performing procedures. She has also had to deliver me bad news about my pups hip but did so very eloquently and sympathetically. Front desk staff are always pleasant and accommodating of my shy pup. AMAZING!!!! That's all I can say!!!! I had an emergency with my senior pitbull and was at the ER vet which didn't turn out very well to say the least. I called Hendricks and they were so incredibly sweet and compassionate to my situation. They got me right in and took great care of my 12 year old baby girl. Doctor Davis was so thorough with her crazy symptoms. I am beyond happy with the way everyone treated me and my pup!!!!!!!! I will never go anywhere else!!!! My little dog came down with ear infection on a Thursday night. When I called to get an appointment the said they would talk to the vet and he’d squeeze him in. No response on Saturday and called again and they said the same thing. Well now the infection is in both ears. Called Monday and they did squeeze us in. Dog was crying in pain by now. The vet did tell me that I can just drop him off in a case like this and they will see the dog sooner. So all ended well but for this issue I’m only giving them 3 start

The entire staff at Hendricks has always be so welcoming, warm, gentle, and patient! Patient with me more than my dog. I canceled a recent visit only to wake up the next day (the day we were supposed to be seen) that my dog was not doing well. They quickly got me back on the schedule and called back when an earlier appointment became available. They answer all of my questions with out an air of irritation in their voices and they ALWAYS call back when they say they will. Our dog is our first baby and we so appreciate Hendricks treating her like their very own too.

I love Hendricks Veterinary, I went to them when my previous vet was not getting to a solution with my chocolate lab and his issues. I expressed my concerns with them and they have worked hard to get to a solution, they have been great to work with and everyone down there has been friendly and professional. We have been with Hendricks for years and have always been pleased with their care. We moved a few weeks ago and my dad that lived with us passed away a few days later. All the busyness kept our dog occupied, but when all the company was gone he started having anxiety attacks and they are heartbreaking to watch. The local vet could not see him for over a week, so I called Hendricks. They were booked solid, but squeezed him in anyway. They were so caring and UNRUSHED when they were examining him even though we were squeezed in. They cared about him and did not want to cause more anxiety. We have always been pleased with Hendricks, but this experience was above and beyond!

I recently adopted a young adult malemute from the shelter and took him to Hendricks for a wellness check and update his vaccines. The team was so kind and helped answer all of my questions, including dietary needs for northern breeds. Zev even loved it, too! It was awesome how they lead him around the the building after his appointment, and he was given so many treats for being such a good boy while making everyone'sacquaintance. I'm thrilled to have found such a patient and loving team that will keep my boy at his best as life continues on.

I adopted a rescue pup recently and needed a veterinarian. Due to the pandemic, I was asked to park in a numbered spot and call upon my arrival. A technician came to my car and brought my pup in for an exam while I waited in the car. I spoke with Dr. Patterson on the phone about the issue, and she prescribed medication. I found her to be very thoughtful, caring and professional. Hendricks is my new vet now for sure! On a subsequent visit, I dealt with technician Will. He was also very professional and took the time to answer a number of questions I had about my new pup even though they were obviously busy. My overall experience with Hendricks is they really care about their patients, and they take the time to explain everything to the pet owner.

My experience with Hendricks has been great. I just started bringing my two large mixed breed dogs here this summer. With COVID, I need to wait in the car but I sent a list of questions/concerns in with the vet tech. Once the wellness exams were done, the vet called me and we discussed everything on my list. We gave them that feedback and they promptly responded and changed their practices. They care: Last time our dog was very nervous. Instead of continuing to make him more afraid they cancelled the appointment and recommended we come back another time. We did and they took extra care to make sure our pup wasn't afraid and it worked!

The staff are all very accommodating and professional, and very good with the animals they care for. I arrived a few minutes early and they were able to take Jasper in right away. I recently moved about 40 miles from the clinic, and have tried another vet a little closer to my new location, but still find them the most responsive and thorough clinic! I have taken my two dogs as well as my cat here and both times they provided excellent service. They were able to see my cat the very next day when I called for an issue we were having with him urinating outside of the litter box. They also came and took him inside right away because of his anxiety and took great care of him and helped him calm down. I am glad I switched over to them as we used to go to Settlers Park Vet (no issues just far away) and it works out great since my pets don't enjoy car rides and they are only 8 minutes away. I also appreciate the precautions they are taking during the pandemic. They are not allowing anyone but staff inside and they all wear masks. When they did allow you to come in you also had to wear a mask during the visit. Thanks!

When I got my first cat I wanted to find a place close by, so we went to Hendricks. I am so glad we did!! They explained everything they were doing during the initial exam and made sure we had the proper information to continue our vaccinations properly. When we got our second cat we took her to Hendricks as well. I received the same amazing treatment. Unfortunately we had to declaw both our cats after failed attempts to get them to scratch elsewhere. (they torn out chunks of our rented house carpet). Dr. Squires was understanding and did not make me feel guilty (even though I did). They took wonderful care of them and kept them overnight. When one of our cats didn't seem to be healing properly they told me to come in right away and within 5 minutes my husband and I were in a room and they were examining her. Everything is due up front, but that is how 90% of vets work, so it isn't a problem for me. I will never go to any other vet for my animals. They have a client for life.

We've loved our experience at Hendricks Vet while we've taken our two dogs, (an 11 year old and 3 year old) to the hospital for the last 4-5 years. The staff is competent, always friendly, and treat our dogs as if they were their own! From our first visit for a "hot spot," every visit has been informational and a great mix of recommendations, but nothing over the top. The doctors have different services they might recommend, but are never forceful if something is more "optional" at a stage of your dog's life stage. There are many reasons to like Hendricks Veterinary Hospital: availability of emergent/immediate care appointments, Saturday morning hours, cheerful, high-service staff, Docs are caring and have a great level of up-to-date knowledge and common sense treatments at a reasonable cost. The Docs perform most of the surgical services at the facility providing continuity of care rather than having the procedure done by a vet that is unfamiliar with your pet. Our dog had a very successful knee surgery, again for a reasonable cost. They put great store in preventive/wellness care for their patients, taking time at each appointment to be thorough about your pet's health.

Looking for a vet that uses you to make money? Call Hendricks Vet! They lack personal service so much so that when you sign up for their Paw Plan as a way to be a responsible pet parent, you only receive service reminders via email and physical mail. Oh, and they send them when you’ve already used up all of your services in hopes you will spend more money and waste your time. They sent me an email reminder that my dog was due for his semi-annual appointment along with a link to book online. I followed the instructions, and booked the appointment, including a notation that I was booking per my semi-annual reminder email for my Paw Plan. After the appointment was said and done, they told me that they don’t read those notes and that the field I provided the notation in was pointless. Instead, they insisted I should not have trusted their automated email and that I needed to pay $50 for the exam where they did nothing but spend 10 minutes looking at my dog and telling me he looks great. They did not care that I would NOT have booked the appointment had they not sent me the reminder email leading me to believe he was due for services, again, per my Paw Plan. When I shared that I was dissatisfied with the way they had used their automated process as a source to make $ off of my family, they offered me a $6 discount for the service. That’s right, for 10 minutes of a service I would not have booked per their automated email reminder and lack of checking details (my note when making the appointment) I was offered a $44 bill. I told them we were a single income family and shoveling over $44 for an appointment we did not need (and they could have prevented me attending) was not fair. They did not care. The $44 bill was now our responsibility. Seems like they could have offered me more? And instead of apologizing, the woman and the front desk argued with me that it was my fault for trusting the automated email. Why is it my fault that they use automated systems and not personal?? We are finishing up our Paw Plans (2 dogs) since we are in contract for them and don’t want to waste more money, but will be cancelling in February as soon as the contract is finished out. Thanks for taking advantage of this new family struggling to make ends meat, Hendricks Vet. You’ve made things fun— Not! **I am changing this from 2 stars to 4 based on a phone call I received a few days after sharing this review. A kind woman called to apologize for the poor service we experienced and explained that they would be changing their process for reminding clients of Paw Plan usage and appointments. The woman was kind and sincere and spoke to me for about 15 minutes. I felt that she truly cared and I was pleased to see that corrective action was being taken. We had a follow up appointment for our second dog and all went well so we are continuing the Paw Plans as they are truly convenient. Thank you for taking corrective action, Hendricks.**

We've been using this vet for our greyhounds since October of 2012. I am so pleased with the operation and the communication. The doctors are compassionate and kind. The first service we ever used was when they diagnosed our greyhound Rusty with cancer. We were offered options and allowed to make our own decisions with guidance. The euthanasia was gentle and we were given as much time as we needed. Today our eldest (13) had a dental cleaning with extractions and was treated like the princess she is. Prices are reasonable, too. Highly recommended.

This team is truly the best! Our little household and business worships our 2 year old border collie. Her name is Jet and she does everything with us! Helps us run a small local service center and is the sweetest little pup out there. Yesterday, she was severely injured with a massive laceration and open wound down her side. We immediately jumped in the car frantically calling and hoping they would help us in such short notice and at the end of the day with only 30 minutes left in their work day. They took us in and immediately jumped into action on our scared little pupper in pain. We were very lucky and she made it home that night a little scared with lots of sutures and a bit of a recovery ahead of her but she made it home. I just recently got my first pit bull puppy Luna. The First day I got her we took her into Hendricks to get her a basic check up and her first round of shots. They were wonderful with her and welcoming her to the clinic. Very informative about the paw plan and the benifits for a new addition to any family. Since then my puppy had a surprise vet visit due to an eye injury the paw plan covered 90% of the visit. They were so caring and gentle with my little pup. My dog hadn't been feeling well so I took her into a different vet who misdiagnosed her with arthritis. After a few months, she was deteriorating rapdily and something didn't seem right about the diagnosis I was given, so I took her into Hendricks. Dr. Squires knew what was wrong with her within minutes. This story doesn't end well, because she had terminal cancer and passed away two days later; however, Dr. Squires and all of the staff were so compassionate and kind during the last few days of Lavender's life, which really helped with the pain of losing my friend. I feel confident in the veterinarians' skill as professionals and am especially comforted by the fact that everyone is so caring. I switched all of my animals over to Hendricks and have become a life long customer.

My sweet dog Boudreaux (Boo Boo) got a boo boo from another dogs bite at dog park. I took him in for exam very concerned how I was going to pay to get my dog surgery to repair his wounds. The vet tech suggested Scratch Pay. I applied was accepted and my dogs injury was taken care of. I few days later the wounds abscessed and he needed another surgery to save him from a serious infection brewing. They took him in right away and he under went another surgery. Scratch pay extended my approval amount and Hendricks only charged what was approved the second time. Blessing me with the comfort that my dog will be fine and that I didn't have to stress about money as this all happened before the holidays. God bless this hospital and its staff. On 11/5/16 Dr. Davis went above and beyond for my Golden Retriever Ruger. I brought him in just before noon closing and after taking X-rays to determine he had an intestinal obstruction Dr. Davis and his two amazing technicians Megan and Nicole took him to emergency surgery after hours. They were in surgery for 2 hours and had to make incisions in his stomach and 3 incisions in his intestines to remove the string, plastic and stick he decided looked tasty earlier that week. Ruger is now making a miraculous recovery and already seems to be almost completely back to normal. Dr. Davis checked in with us every single day to check on his progress and advise us on medicating Ruger to manage his pain and ensure a strong recovery. I don't know what I would do without the incredible team at Hendricks Veterinary. I am forever indebted to them for saving my furbaby!
