I took my dog here and the service was impeccable. They came out and got him quickly and I was in a comfortable room waiting for him. The doctor kept me well informed of what was going on and all my options. The only downside which I took a star off for was the price. I came out $700 poorer. $300 was just for 1 weeks worth of medicine...

I had just lost my beloved cat of 13 years suddenly last Saturday. From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted warmly and with compassion. They expressed their sympathy and handled my sweet girl with care. They arranged cremation services for me and contacted me immediately when her ashes were returned. I would most definitely recommend this clinic to anyone experiencing an emergency. I will also be contacting the crematorium who performed the service as this was also top notch. Thanks for all you do!

The staff and vets here are so kind and compassionate at every step in helping pet owners through an urgent crises or minor injury. The reception staff went out of her way to research extra info for me, and in time I was there, I overheard them having similarly helpful and patient conversations with others. It was an inconvenience to not have an appointment time, but compared to the other clinics that can schedule, the wait was worth the far better service as well as what turned out to be a perfectly reasonable bill. When I arrived, I was next to see the doctor, but before she got to me 3 other pets with more urgent concerns arrived. Seeing the dr care for obviously more important issues than a broken toe nail helped my patience. They seemed to move through quickly, but not rushed. It took about 3 hours, but it seems that depends on your issue and simply your timing. Pets with worse issues were seen within minutes. As for the medical care, the techs and vet were equally awesome, attentive and capable. My pup was in quite a bit of pain, and was wiggling, kicking and squirming to get out of having her toe examined. They all handled it gracefully, managed to administer plenty of lidocaine, and remove her broken toe nail. Thank you all! The care you provided to all your patients today was appreciated.

Took my furbaby here for an emergency ....staff was gentle with her and made sure we were comfortable since she has so much anxiety being in the hospital. I would certainly recommend it. I rated four due to the extensive wait times, although they do give advance notice that there could be a longe waits. They recommend calling ahead of time to get estimated wait times. Overall a good experience understand unfavorable circumstances. For the sake of my furbaby, hopefully I don't have to return but I would if necessary.

They were very friendly and cared about the pup. The vet answered all my questions and more.. she made herself available if needed to call once we went home. Also even offered to take xray if it would make me more comfortable that she was ok. But I believed her and knew she would know if anything was broken. Would definitely use again if need.

This office has saved my cat's life twice. He's a senior cat who is over 14 years old. The care and love that they gave him is unparalleled. Special shout out to Sadia who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and just amazing. She is a credit to the entire office. The technicians are sweet and goodhearted with the animals. Dr Mundy is a gem and I am so thankful that she was there when Dr Jones needed help. They were amazing! My cat was sick, and we arrived as soon as it opened. He was treated fast and efficiently, and recovered well. They will never reject an animal for not being sick enough, but on weekends when vets closes, they do often reach capacity quick like any other animal hospital. On weekends, I would try caring for your animal as well as you can, and be understanding if they cannot see it yet. This is the only hospital in the area that does not turn away non-critical patients, so it can be a wait to get seen.

My dog had a major surgury at a clinic in Laurel. 15 mins after leaving my dog started struggling and was not coherant. After calling the clinic i took her to and being told. we are not a after care facility and theres not much we can do for her. I rushed her to the nearest er vet which was Emerg. Vet Clinic in Catonsville. My girl was a 10yr old pitbull. I told the young lady I beleive her name was Stephanie that my dog was unresponsive and had surgury and i dont know how to pick her up without hurting her. She flew into action and grabbed a straight board. After she seen how bad she was she did not hesitate to wrap my girl up and take off running into the clinic to try and save her life. The Veternarian told me alot of information that i should have been told by Spay now in Laurel. The staff at EVC did everything to save my girl but it was already to late. I am forever grateful for everyone of their staff and how kind they was and patient. I feel like I owe this staff big time! Thank yous all so much.

They saved my cat's life. The Doctor on staff knew exactly what was wrong with him and, after a very rough night, he pulled through. The staff was very efficient, passing records on to my vet and to the cardiologist we visited the next day. They gave detailed instructions for the meds and all were very empathetic and kind.

My dogs came inside from a potty break in the yard at 12am. My lab was freaking out pawing at her face and bleeding, she was running around the house & threw up a large pile of foamy blood. I rushed her to this vet cause I googled and it was closest to home - although I had never been there since we recently moved to the area. When arriving the young lady @the counter was very nice, gave me a pager and said I could wait inside or in my car. We couldn’t have waited more than 15 minutes. The vet was very kind as she examined my dogs mouth and quickly found and removed a stick lodged in the back, across the bridge of her mouth. My dog wouldn’t even let me look in her mouth when we were still home! They didn’t even charge me for the visit! I have NEVER had that happen at any vet, and this is an emergency vet!! They clearly want to help animals not just gouge you - in you and your animals time of need. Kandi and I Thank you guys sooo much! Was a great experience and I know if any of my 4 pets are ever in need of emergency care this is where we will be going!

My husband brought our Dog here after he ate a corn cob. We were concerned about him developing an intestinal blockage. Called three emergency vets- one said to watch him and call back in the AM, one said they were booked and wouldn’t give medical advice over the phone….but this one kindly said bring him in. They induced vomiting and he had indeed swallowed the cob completely whole— very likely could have been a blockage and dangerous situation if we had waited. My husband said the staff were incredibly pleasant, communicative, and the pricing was very reasonable. Thank you for helping our dog!!!

It seems odd to leave a five-star review for a emergency vet that put my dog down, but when Maggie was having seizures, I knew it was her time, she was an old gal after all. I brought her in at 830p, she was taken care of by the staff, who were both kind and respectful. The vet on duty was thorough in her explanation of what was going on, and gave us our options about what do without pressuring us one way or the other. We were given the room to ourselves, and when we ultimately did have to let my dog go, we were allowed to be there with her the whole time. I felt comfort knowing that the people here, a vet staff I'd never used before, were there for us when we needed them. This has been an extremely difficult time, and the vet was beyond kind during it.

This place was recommended by my vet. They gave amazing care to my very ill cat. The vets and nurses were incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate. I did have a wait in the patient room, but it wasn't too long. It was also cheaper than they had initially estimated, which I was really grateful. They really care about the animals here. They even asked me to email them with updates and photos of my cat so they could see how he was doing in a few weeks. I'll definitely be back here if my pets ever need emergency care.

First, ultimately we had to go to a different vet for our emergent needs, but in the time we were waiting, everyone was very helpful and considerate of our situation. A tech came and checked on our dog to make sure the emergency wasn't critical (or in danger of becoming critical), which was very thoughtful and unprompted.

I had a very close call with one of my cats, and after looking all around I settled on this place. Not only did they take him promptly, since I called beforehand, but they made sure to be very thorough when telling me the diagnosis. While it was fairly expensive, the service I got there was worth it. He was not in the best condition, but they did all they could to make him well again. They even let me visit, and gave me very enthusiastic updates over the phone. I had to go back weeks later to make sure Captain Jack had what i suspected to be a URI. It was, but what really showed me they cared-- That night a dog passed away right as it came in, and the vet took the time to make sure the owners and their beloved pet were taken care of. It was heartbreaking, but it showed how much they really do care. They saved my baby boy, and I am grateful to them. I have attached a photo of him, many thanks to them. I would trust them with him anytime.

My cat was referred here for overnight care after she had two (!) surgeries within a few days of each other. My husband and I were a mess. At that point, we really didn't have a good grasp of what was going on with our kitty and we were quite worried. Also, the costs were mounting. However, EVC was amazing. 1.) The receptionists are the most warm and welcoming receptionists in Baltimore. Amanda (I think?) is the best, and I overall just had a good feeling about leaving my pet with them. They often had to deal with both me and my husband calling (sometimes at the same time) to check in on our pet. They were so patient with us and helpful. 2.) The vet-techs are absolute professionals. They kept us updated and took meticulous notes. They share these notes with the owners. Everything from when she went potty to notes about my pet liking head rubs that morning. It warmed my heart. Also, they double checked and triple checked that we had all the meds we needed and were very good with making sure we were comfortable administering them and with feeding her via feeding tube. They spent about an hour going through everything with us, which we deeply appreciated. 3.) Dr. Gruver is by far the best veterinarian I have ever met, and I have met quite a few. She is so professional, but also incredibly caring. She had compassion and empathy whenever I called to speak with her. Like I said, I was a mess, and was frustrated that I really didn't know what was happening with my cat (not EVC's fault, or anyone's really, but my main vet tends to speak in technical terms and my husband and I were lost). She was calm and answered all of my questions with so much patience. There was no jargon and if there was she explained what she was talking about. She also took meticulous notes and even recorded when we called and discussed in the notes the goal posts for our pet to meet progress-wise. 4.) They knew we were worried about mounting costs and worked with us on a strategy to get my pet feeling better and also not break the bank. We really appreciated this. Overall, an amazing experience and I literally tear up thinking about how amazing this place is.

I cant say enough about Dr. Brennan? I think her name started with a B. Aside from selling a leg and a arm to make sure my dog was taken care of, she was really thorough and performed emergency surgery on my dog when others weren't available! She did the best she could with the conditions she had. My dog is back to his normal annoying self and I thank her for that!

The vet was very kind with delivering difficult information to me (that my pet was terminally ill) and she gave me information regarding home euthanasia. You do have to wait a while to be seen, as it is a Vet ER, but that is to be expected. I feel like the front office staff could have been friendlier, hence 4 stars instead of 5.

Cannot put into words how grateful I am for this animal hospital. Our dog was diagnosed with a breakthrough case of parvovirus after being fully inoculated against it. He was not acting like himself and eventually stopped eating, seemed lethargic, and then started throwing up. We brought him in to EVC for triage and he was put under close 24 hour care by this facility for 5 days. There were some very tough days not knowing whether or not he was going to make it, but they helped get him back to normal and get him back home to us. We really felt like he was in great care with the employees at this facility and they were very good about giving us morning and nightly updates as to how our dog was doing. I want to give a special thank you to Dr. Nichols, Dr. Brennan, and all of the supporting staff that helped us get our dog healthy and back to us. Thank you so much!

This place is wonderful. You may have a bit of a wait but it's well worth it. I have a 6 year old German Shepherd that was acting sluggish,peeing everywhere and was just sick. I thought she was passing away at one point. We made an appointment. Usually Nyla will bark at people. She not once opened her mouth. Except when a stretcher was brought out for another dog. The techs and the Dr could not have been nicer. She ended up with a bad UTI they gave her a shot for pain and nausea. They sent us home with 10days of antibiotics. This happened in May. We just received a get well card from the staff yesterday. How nice is that? So I would highly recommend this place. And I usually don't do that.👍👍👍👍

I HIGHLY recommend this emergency clinic! The bedside manner was incredible, esp during Covid, and when the difficult decision was made to end my dogs life, they went completely out of their way to make the experience as easy as possible! The vet today, I am sorry I am blanking on her name at the moment, was incredibly generous with her thoughtfulness and did a beautiful job of euthanasia...I unfortunately have had a few animals die in my lifetime and this truly was the best way I have ever seen it done! The care is TOP NOTCH and communication is amazing! You are in great hands if you ever find yourself as worried as I was and needing an emergency clinic!

We had a very good experience with them! Took our cat in for an emergent visit and she ended up having to stay a few nights with them. Every staff member we interacted with was very pleasant and professional, and they took excellent care of our cat. They called regularly with updates on her progress and were always transparent about the cost of care. The doctors were very thorough and compassionate with their care of both our cat and us. The best emergency vet in Maryland. Extra attentive in care and great in explaining everything through the process. Reasonably priced as well. Took my dog I. To get her stomach pumped after she got into our trash. Quick turnaround and our dog seemed as ease as possible being discharged. Price was fair and not gouging the situation. Very helpful and clear on the phone, detailed instructions of what to do when we arrived and picked up our dog. Poor girl ate some raisins and had to throw up + get some blood draws but they took care of her and she is fine now! Prices were reasonable. My only complaint is that they called to tell me she was coming out and it was almost 30 minutes when she actually came out! I'm sure this was just logistical and my experience was very good overall.

My cat of 13 yrs took a turn for the worse yesterday. She had lost a lot of weight. Wasn't eating. When I got to her, she was laying on her side unable to get up or move. She was breathing and occasionally made a sound. I took her to this hospital where I had to ultimately euthanize her after a critical diagnosis. I know she is in a better place. She is no longer suffering. I feel selfish to have had to make this decision. I know deep down, it was for the best. This is the second cat we have lost in 1 months. Brother 13 yrs old and sister just turned 14 yrs old due to health complications. The staff and service was great.

They have covid protocols in place so you have to call when you arrive, they do intake over the phone, and then a nurse will come out to get your pet. It was busy when I was there with a couple of emergencies - I waited about 3 hours in total. They are cool with you leaving as long as you have your contact phone on you, but I didn't want to leave so just hung out in my car. Emergency vets are always expensive, so it wasn't a cheap trip, but I'm satisfied with the care my girl got and the eventual diagnosis. They were great about telling me the assessed risk and asking if I wanted to be conservative or aggressive with our approach. (Aggressive meant more expense but also peace of mind at the end of the day.) My girl was already feeling much better when I got her back.

I did not feel that they took my call seriously. 1 of our dogs was attacked by a disrespectful neighbors dog. The neighbor was VERY UNHELPFUL getting their large dog off our smaller dog. He was bleeding alot and gapping amounts flesh were hanging out/off him. They said it would be a wait. They have several other dogs a head of mine. But they could triage him. 😒 I work in a hospital, I understand what triage means, taking basic information and the chief complaint. I called other places hoping they understand the gravity of this. But went here because "triage" was the best offer (which was stressful). Who knew there are so many ER Vet visits at 1130p on a Sunday. We arrived. Called. They took our information over the phone. Sadly, they were addressing payment, instead of just taking my dog bleeding in my arms in the car. (COVID restricts customers from going inside. So people sat in their cars) To simply be examined it was 150$. However, they were pretty quick to take him as we processed the initial 150$. Again surprised, they called us back letting us know they were looking at him (after the deposit cleared) and the Vet would call us after the exam. About 10 mins and the Vet calls. He is in need of emergency surgery. Luckily no major organs or vessles were damaged. She gave us a range of 1,100$ - 2,500$ for surgery but the $$ could increase/decrease during. We asked to start working on him while we try to figure out how to access that amount of funds (on a Sunday/Monday 12am). ATM's no longer let you access large sums anymore. They provided us with information to scratchpay and another loan service. We were denied from scratchpay. We are ok at saving, so a little background sleight of hand magic😫. We were able to put down the deposit, which increased to almost 1,400$. They said he needed to stay overnight and would call us for updates. The surgery went well. The cost of the surgery went down a little to 1,100$. They coordinated care with his primary Vet. Overall, we are happy with the outcome. Thank you all for the amazing service.

Took care of my pup which is the most important thing. Person who answered the door was rude and when he called to get info was rude yet again. Took my dog and said someone would call without providing anymore details. The inability to interact with the Vet or be allowed in to provide payment was very odd. Received a phone call from a different number asking for my credit card info and answer some unrelated questions. Refused to provide an update until I paid. Vet eventually called and was the complete opposite. Very helpful and informative. Wasn't too expensive neither. Would've received 5 stars if they operated more like a hospital instead of a drive thru and the person at the front desk wasn't rude.

This place was absolutely amazing. My pup was on her deathbed and all the other animal hospitals had like a 8-12 hour wait. These guys saw her with in an hour and with in 3 hours my pup was walking out not at 100% but certainly much better. She recovered by the next day. Can’t thank all the people over there enough, they were caring and amazing!

I cannot put into words just how great this ER is. Let’s face it, when we need ER services it’s usually a really serious and stressful situation. When I brought a sick foster kitten in they were so attentive to me and sympathized with my sorrow as we were given bad news. They understood, they cared and they were attentive despite all the craziness they likely endured that night. If I wasn't already satisfied with the services/care despite leaving with a tear stained face and an empty carrier; Id be remiss if I didn't personally shout out Dr. Nichols. She literally saved my two kittens lives with her care. I’ve never met anyone as compassionate and selfless. I am lucky to know a vet like her. I feel safe and confident knowing I can come here in the future if I need to. No one ever wants to need and ER but this is a damn good one.

Still following Corona virus rules, so you call when you get there and they come get your pet after you talk to them. Wait time depends on how many emergencies are there and how many patience are having a life threatening emergency. Excellent care. I'm only bummed out that our cat just turned 7 years old a month ago and she's having the age related problems of a 15 year old cat, but at least she got to come home. Very nice staff.

We so appreciate that they listened to our concerns and acted appropriately to treat our dog quickly before the grape she'd eaten was too far into her system. Other vets might have said "she's not critical" and sidelined her. This emergency animal hospital has won 5 ☆s and a happy dog thanks to their quick action.

Wonderful, kind and caring staff when veterinary services are required after normal hours. And not near as overpriced as you would think! They loved my cat and took turns coming in to hold and pet him. We've been there twice and each visit was just as nice. They really put you at ease during such a stressful time. I don't believe they can keep your pet "overnight" (day time hours) because they are not staffed, but in the event such care is needed, they will help you make the arrangements. Lobby and exam rooms are accessible, but I didn't check the bathrooms. I'm fairly sure they are, as well.

Unfortunately, a stray cat was hit by a car on a busy street in front of my home. The individual who did so never slowed down, stopped nor had interest in the welfare of this poor soul. Upon rushing into traffic to get to this cat, it was apparent that she/he was no longer alive. I couldn't stand the thought of leaving it there & wanted to respect & preserve the dignity of this animal. I called the E.V.C. of Catonsville & was informed by a very kind young man that the hospital would allow for myself to bring the cat to them free of charge as a "Good Samaritan" & that they would also scan for a microchip. Although the wait time upon arrival was not brief, I really have no complaints being that they were so accommodating. A young lady named Brit came out to my vehicle to retrieve the cat & was most pleasant, caring, warm & sincere. Her love of animals was evident & truly genuine. I had the pleasure of conversing with Brit enough to say that she really is a gem! Thank you for all that you do & for the care, consideration, effort & support that is offered to both animals & humans!

New to the area and took a cat in that we found outside about 2 weeks ago. Cleaned her ears and her ears started bleeding bad, took her here and they were very fast. Very very reasonable priced. And very professional! The receptionist is such a sweet heart. I was expecting this bill to be atleast $300 because it's a emergency vet but I left paying under $150 for my cats exam, and medications! I highly highly recommend. While it's rough dealing with the legations that the pandemic has set, the staff do their best to take care of every let that comes in. Twice they've seen my dog, in different years, and each time they were conscientious of his comfort and ability to recover as a senior animal. We brought our dog here in December 2020 - just one day before New Year’s Eve. We were at home and when we let our 17 year old dog (who was in relatively decent health) outside, he suddenly fainted. He was unconscious for a minute or so, and when he gained consciousness, his back legs were not working. We called his regular vet and a couple of other vets, but none of them could see him until January. We were told to take him to the ER. While making calls, our dog has gotten better, was able to get up, walk around, he seemed totally fine. But we still wanted him to be checked out, so we decided to take him to this animal hospital. As I said, the dog was fine, was calm in the car. Upon arrival we handed him over to the staff and waited in the car. They did blood work, X-ray and an hour later called us with some bad news. They said he was not looking good, he possibly suffered a stroke or a heart attack, his heart was in a really bad condition, he had fluid built up in his lungs and was currently kept in the oxygen room. The vet offered us two options - to keep him there for a treatment (injections, assuming since it couldn’t be done at home) that was too expensive for us and not guaranteed to work, or euthanasia. We were not allowed to see him, unless we would decide to proceed with euthanasia. We inquired about the option of taking him home and maybe giving him some medicine, but the vet said he was in an extremely poor state and if we took him out of the oxygen room he would likely suffocate on the way home, or over night, or would pass due to his heart condition. It was a very difficult decision, and we were extremely close to choosing ending his suffering. Then I thought about the way he was when we dropped him off. He seemed fine and normal. So we decided to take him home with us and if his condition worsened, then we would bring him back for euthanasia. They brought him back to our car and he was in a terrible condition. Clearly highly sedated, not responsive at all, eyes bulging, just panting for his dear life. The vet told us if he makes it over the holidays (which she doubted), to take him to his regular vet for prescription and only sent us home with lasics (to remove fluid from his body) and told us what we might expect if he starts doing really bad. I sat with him on the back seat and he stopped panting after about 15 minutes. When we got home he was still sedated, but calm. After a few hours he started to walk around pacing erratically and barking/crying (never heard him make sounds like that before). We thought it was time, so we got dressed and were ready to go, but suddenly he stopped and settled down so we didn’t take him back. He was probably coming off the sedation. January 6, 2021 was the earliest day his regular vet could see him. They reviewed his paperwork from the ER and prescribed him heart medicine. In July 2021, he is still alive, doing really well, being the usual happy little dog, no pain, no side effects, he has not been in any discomfort or had any lesser of quality of life. I know we are on borrowed time, but I’m glad we did not decide to put him to sleep that night. We would have lost at least 6 wonderful and happy months spent with our dog. We think the cause for his condition to worsen was stress. He is partially blind and deaf, he was in a strange place without his humans, being handled by strangers, that probably stresses him out to that point of hyperventilating… if we kept him in there for too long, he would have probably died as unnecessary stress was being put him by separating us for so long. This is not the vet’s fault as she was only judging the obvious signs, and I don’t think they did anything wrong, but still happy we did not listen to her and did not end his life prematurely..

Had an emergency with my puppy 3 days ago. The receptionist was not to friendly at first but was ok later. The Vets and Techs are great. Had to take my other puppy yesterday (same virus) and the receptionist was great and the staff was great. They printed out an estimate of the care beforehand and allowed me to decide. Had to put down a deposit because my puppy stayed overnight. They returned $189 dollars back to my card that they didn't use.. Honest place.

Despite this, they were great with communication, and explained everything over the phone while I waited outside the building. We rushed our dog here after a trip to the vet saying he needed more than what they could provide. The staff at Emergency Veterinary Clinic were quick to take our dog back, look at the situation and immediately started treatment. Long story short, our dog ended up needing emergency surgery. The staff kept us informed every step of the way and took excellent care of our pup. They even let us visit our dog knowing he had to stay another night with them. Even though the bill was a little high, we were so please with the work the vets and staff did; the money didn't matter. We have our dog back safe and sound. We would highly recommend taking your pet to this place. Fingers crossed we won't need to go back, but if we do need another trip to a Pet ER; this is the place we will go.

Dr. Thompson is such a wonderful doctor. I really appreciate the fact that she diagnosed my cat with a bladder issue that wasn’t just “a uti”. She explained and dug a little deeper as to why he actually had the bladder issue, beyond diet. It never occurred to me that it was stress related! The staff is always so kind! They make a stressful situation so much better, I Wish that they could be our regular vet! This was our 3rd emergency visit in 3 years and they are consistent, knowledgeable and friendly. I took my cat here at 830pm on a Monday. I called ahead and they informed me that they triage animals by severity so they cannot always give a timeframe of when your animal would be seen. However, by 930pm, she had been seen by a vet and I was given a call with all the information from the exam. Dr. Perez was calm and very informative and took the time to answer all my questions and repeat everything as needed. By 1030pm, I picked up my cat with her full bag of medicine, detailed overview notes, and detailed instructions for administering medication. Overall, even in the time of COVID when you cannot go in with your animal, the staff were professional and efficient even though you could see how busy they were. I would most definitely take my animals here again if needed.

A few nights ago my dogs got in a fight over a bone and one required staples for a bite wound and my regular vet was already closed for the day. They saw us immediately, and were so kind and calm and patient. I really needed the calming influence because I was totally panicking over everything. The doctor talked to me for a while and was so nice while I rambled and worried about everything, she gave me some excellent suggestions for how to prevent and address disagreements between them in the future. The receptionist recommended a trainer and was also so sweet and understanding about how I was feeling. They were gentle and quick with my dog who needed the staples. I was also amazed at how inexpensive it was! I used to be a vet tech and was keeping a mental tally of what I thought the bill would be, and it ended up being less than even my low estimate. I'm so glad to know they are right up the road from me. Hopefully I won't have any more late night emergency vet visits in the future, but if I do, I'll definitely come back here.

The vet actually sat on the floor of the exam room with our sick and scared dog and did her whole exam from the floor. The ER took great care of my cat who had a foreign body stuck in his intestines and they had to cut maybe a 6 inch incision. I assumed they would give us a cone after, Im not too knowledgeable when it comes to animal surgeries, so I thought when they didn't and said he'd be fine, that he would be ok without one. Turns out on the visit with his regular doctor to remove the staples 14 days later he was playing at the staples and so needed a cone for another 14 days post staple removal. They were extremely surprised the ER didn't put a cone on him following the surgery, so my poor baby had to go through more healing with a cone on his head. A bit concerned that this is such a common thing (cone after surgery) that should have been provided and I trusted their judgement.

I called them the night of July 4th and they said it might be a second before they got to us, but to please come on in. They asked where I was located so they would have a time-frame for my arrival. They even suggested a closer vet facility so I would not have to travel that far. I declined because the other facility didn't have the best reviews. The staff and Kathryn Hickson were outstanding. My kids were crying. They explained all of our options, but with our Lab's age, advanced issues and our budget, it wasn't feasible for us to save her. They left us alone to say our goodbyes. Gave us as long as we needed....way more than we needed. I'm glad I went there. I would definitely use them again!

I can't say enough nice things about this place and the people. We unfortunately had to have our dog euthanized there last summer in the middle of the night after she had a stroke. They were so VERY kind and caring with us - our Daisy was 16.5 years old and it was like losing a person for us...and they totally understood what we were going through and treated us so sensitively and gently. My only minor feedback is that the place itself could use a little sprucing/freshening up, but the care is extremely kind and professional so that's not a big concern...they also seem to be good doctors. I was so grateful for their kindness that I bought small gifts for the three people who were working at 2am that morning. I would not ever hesitate to return here with another dog. They really care. I'm very happy with the care and treatment my dog was provided during her time of need! My dog went into Labor on Easter and was having difficulty delivering one of the puppies so I called and asked for advice (I pretty much knew I had already done what I could to try and assist at home but for someone who doesn't already know what to do the advice would have be helpful and I appreciated them just taking the time to be on the phone with me). They told me to come in and told me what to expect when arriving since social distancing measures were in place due to COVID-19. The Vet regularly kept in contact with me and kept me updated about everything that was happening. Unfortunately we did lose one puppy but they were able to save the next puppy which was the last and a c-section was avoided, they gave my dog time to see and care for the puppy that passed so momma could handle the loss as she should. They made sure momma and the rest of the litter was doing well before letting us go home. Everyone here was kind, compassionate and realistic from beginning to end. The cost of this ordeal was very reasonable and way less than what I was expecting it was going to cost. Hopefully you will never be faced with a emergency concerning a furry family memberbut if you do I highly recommend coming here and at least keeping their number handy should you be faced with the unexpected.

My cat, cinnamon, got sick last night and started getting very wobbly and almost falling over when she was walking. It was 7 PM and I called a couple of vets in my area that were still open, but they said they were full. I called this clinic, and I was able to take cinnamon right in. It is an emergency vet so there was a couple of hours wait until cinnamon was seen, but with the care that she received, the compassion of the every staff member that I dealt with, and the cost of the visit (which included several tests, anesthesia, & treatment), I highly recommend this vet clinic to anyone who needs to get there fur baby seen immediately.

The staff are caring and courteous, and genuinely care about both the animals and their families. Because it's an emergency clinic, they're often dealing with traumatic injuries, grief, and loss, and they always handle the situation with genuine compassion. Our family has lost two dogs over the years, and we've relied on this clinic both times for diagnosis, emergency treatment, and compassionate euthanasia. While I do wish that they offered a less clinical environment for their euthanasia services, you won't find a more honest, caring, or experienced staff anywhere in the area. I sincerely hope you never need their services. However, if you do, I highly recommend them.

I am out of state and my daughter called me hysterical that her new dog had been hit by a car and didn't know where to go. As she was scooping her up I found this vet hospital online. They took my daughter right in. Gave her puppy a thorough exam (x-rays, ultrasound, etc). They were polite and courteous and didn't make her feel bad or stupid. How do you review a place that you hope that you never have to go any more than you want to use your seat belts or helmet? Fortunately for me I found out because our vet (at the time) told us (as they were closing) that our family pet had cancer and that since they were closing we needed to take him to Catonsville Emergency Vetrinary Clinic to have him euthanized. When we go there they were patient, sympathetic and helpful. So helpful that they were able to identify that he had Pancreatitis not cancer and were able to stop his vomiting and help him live a long full life. We've since been here for other reasons and the plain truth is that they are extremely competent, reasonable and open 24 hours. Nobody ever wants their dog to need medical aid but if you do then you can take a little comfort in knowing that Catonsville Emergency Veterinary Clinic is there for you to do the best that they can.

Not a bad experience, but could have definitely been a much better, cheaper and accurate visit. Waited for about 3 hours and no one was in the waiting area when I arrived. However, a younger white couple comes in and every vet is looking at their dog and took the dog back immediately to X-RAYS.... basically blowing off my and my pups needs. Cats are roaming freely, umm not everyone is a CAT person... then after I was called to the back, clearly the Vet was new, didn’t care, or wasn’t interested in my pups needs bc, they NEVER determined the reason(s) for my dog visit. And after paying for X-rays, exam fees and such, which is costly.... I had to take my dog to another animal hospital and pay again for them to tell me that her tail was broken. Umm seems like the money I paid for X-RAYs would have determined that but this place said my dog was just constipated....

We were sent here from our primary veterinatrian and the staff at EVC could not have been more professional, responsive, and caring to my poor dog and my wife and I who were very emotional. I can not express how amazing this practice is. We rushed our yorkipoo in around 10:30pm on 7/28 due to him doing something to his lil leg that was causing him pain. We were there maybe 5 minutes when the tech came out and asked a few questions, then took Dude to the back to have him assessed. I was not even a quarter of the way through the paperwork when the lovely tech returned our boy and informed us of the prognosis. She said he was all done and free to go. She advised us to follow up with our vet the next morning. This morning Dude is the same little guy he was before his incident last night. I will be calling the vet after I finish this review! Our dog had a surgery and the staples had opened up. Our vet was closing for Christmas so I had no choice but Pet ER. My heart sank because of cost and impact on an older dog. I drove to Catonsville feeling pretty down. Every interaction I had here was good, I listened to the person at the front desk handling a really sad, tricky conversation in an extremely sensitive way while I waited to check in and thought about how hard a job they have. No one wants to be at Pet ER. The vet came out and explained cost to me, it was about a third what my previous Pet ER experiences had let me to expect. When I went back to pick my dog up a couple came in with a cat that had been hit by a car. Again, an awful situation was handled with practical sensitivity. And my dogs’ bandaging is very impressive and she seems well. I can’t afford to use a pet ER as my regular vet but if I could it would be this one. Thoroughly impressive and satisfying experience, couldn’t be more grateful.

I've been here for many cats' passings (my mother's a cat lady), and each time, the staff have been gracious, kind and steadfast. There's nothing as terrifying as at midnight, worrying about the health of a creature you love, only to have to wait--luckily, we didn't have to wait more than what felt like mere minutes before scans were done and painkillers were given. I was especially surprised at how friendly and caring the doctor was, she had platitudes that I'm sure comforted my mother and helped us in our cat's passing. The nursing team here are also swift and kind about handling billing. We did not feel rushed, and their compassion was truly appreciated.

They saved my kitten's life. There are other emergency clinics closer to my home, but I chose this one based on reviews. We had just gotten him from the shelter a couple of days before, and he started having horrible congestion and was panting for breath, so we took him in. Initially they checked him out and sent him home with some medicine and told us to bring him back if he got worse. He got worse a few hours later, and they immediately got him into ICU. Their staff and doctors are so kind and caring, they kept and eye on him constantly, and called us several times with updates. Thanks to them, our little Triton is now home and on the road to recovery. The bill was also much less than the initial estimate they gave us, so that was a plus. I wouldn't hesitate to take any one of my pets to them for emergency treatment.

I know that no one wants to take a loved one (Human or Pet) to an emergency hospital room for any reason. I had to bring my kitten of 4 months in for what I was to kidney failure. I've had nothing but good experiences here. There was one doctor who didnt have great bedside manner and he left something to be desired last year when I brought my kitty in, but the rest of the staff and doctors were phenomenal. Both times! They treat everyones pets wonderfully and give them the best care. As with any walk in place, it can be a little slow (they do have a lot of animals to see), but Id say this is a faster one and also the one I trust with my furbaby.

At first I was reluctant to go to an Emergency Animal Hospital due to a bad experience I had at Falls Road Animal hospital, but the staff at the Catonsville Emergency Veterinary Clinic were nothing but supportive during a difficult time. Everything from the medical care to the billing was clearly explained upfront with kindness and compassion. I rarely leave reviews, but I felt as if the staff here went above and beyond to make this difficult, sad day a lot easier for me and my poor old dog.

Have taken my dogs here in emergency situations and never had an issues. Literally saved my dogs life, feel really lucky to have a 24/7 vet so close to home. I did have to take my dog in when her tongue was split open, it has to be stitched together, costed under $300 and i feel like that is really reasonable for a situation like that. But ive also had a $2000 bill from when she ate something that got stuck in her intestines, dogs are not cheap! But i feel like they try to keep your bill as low as they can.

These folks saved my Maremma Sheepdog dog Nicola! After ingesting several unmentionable items from the trash which quickly swelled and blocked her stomach and small intestine, Nicola became very ill. At EVC, X-rays were taken and fluid therapy was started to get her to pass the blockage, to no avail. At midnight they began her surgery. They even called about 1 a.m. to let me know the progress and again around 2 to let me know she was out of surgery and ok. After two days in the hospital she was weak but ready to go home. Three days later she was herself. I was very impressed with the care, the concern and communication from the doctors and techs. The price was just what you’d expect in a situation like this but they accept Care Credit which was a huge help. I’m so grateful for this place and highly recommend it.

Had to call in here for my savannah cat Taylor having blood in his urine. They convinced me to come in even though it was almost midnight saying I shouldn't wait until the morning. It was a great decision to come here as the entire clinic is very professional and helpful. Dr Cullen came out and talked to me multiple times about Taylor and even had the techs clip his nails while he was there so I could avoid another trip. Price was very reasonable for an emergency trip and would come to this clinic full time if closer to me and possible but a great choice for an emergency if needed.

I let go of my 12yo golden here. Kind staff and prompt care. They were very sympathetic and gave my family enough space and time to mourn. They were very helpful when i was arranging private cremation. They even sent me a sympathy card home. I would recommend. I couldnt help but to notice some one star reviews about cost and wait time. This is ER that operates on 24hr basis. It has far higher operation cost than office hour based vet. So you have to understand uptick in the price. I see a person complaining about 2 hour wait. It is natual to triage and prioritize animals in more critical condition. I recommend you go check out ER or prompt care for people. You will have far more wait time than 2 hours if you walk in with little booboo on your leg or whatever. You need to relax and be thankful that there is an animal ER in the area.

They took him in the back within 10 mins. They were so good with him. I will definitely take my baby back again if needed. My only complaint was with the x-ray they only did one side and him laying on his back. I thought they would have done both sides on his back and standing up since it's a back and nerve issue

My dog came in after I found blood in his stool.. I called and they said they were open and would be waiting for us. Got in around 5:30 and Blu was taken in by about 6:15 after a (definitely) more pressing situation came in right after me. The doctor came in about 15 minutes after the tech took his temperature. The doc handled him well, as did the two technicians that saw him and took him for his blood work. The doc came in 10 minutes later, talked me through the situation and gave us antibiotics. I came out paying just about $140--this covered initial look ($98) and then the blood work and medicine. We left at around 7:40 (roughly two hour visit). Overall a great experience. Thank you, EVC.

These people actually care about animals. I needed serious advice about my pets health and was answered by a very nice assistant who listened with focus and care. She immediately went to talk to the doctor and then repeated the advise, carefully emphasizing the details. My first call was to the Howard County emergency vet which was closed, my second call was to the Dunloggin vet, the experience was so horrifying that it prompted my very first google review, then as the saying goes third times the charm, I called this clinic seeking their advice and they nailed it. Interestingly the Dunloggin vet seems to recommend this place instead of the Howard County emergency vet, as their google reviews similarly shows how they refuse to help pet owners who aren't their regulars and direct those people to the catonsville clinic instead.
