This is a wonderful vet, and I highly recommend them for your pet care. The folks were friendly, compassionate, and very careful with my little kitten. I think they love my kitten almost as much as I do. My little kitten loves them almost as much as I do. When he visits, he constantly purrs, and the staff spoil him nearly as much as I do.

My hamster's health declined very quickly once she hit 2 years old and I knew euthanasia was the most merciful option for her after exhausting other options in an attempt to turn her health around. I called mid morning and they got me in the same day, despite me only being able to get there within an hour before closing at best due to my work schedule. When I arrived, despite it being their last hour open, I did not feel rushed at all. The vet tech who took all our information was extremely kind and empathetic, I truly wish I could remember her name to share. Then the vet, Dr. Bell, was also wonderful. She took the time to listen to the efforts I had taken and we agreed there did not seem to be any other course to take. I can't recommend this place enough, every staff member I interacted with that day is doing the job they were born to do and it shows.

We woke up Christmas Eve to our 15 year old dog actively dying. Our normal vet wouldn’t see us and told us to go to Annapolis. I called Huffards and begged them to help. They brought us in quickly and put our dog down. They were so kind and caring and made an awful experience, so so peaceful. I will be forever grateful for them to helping our girl cross the rainbow bridge

We had excellent care for our cat Sunny who had pain in his back leg that was giving out when he walked. We have a current Vet, but they had no openings for several weeks, and even then, it would be on a waiting list. I sent Huffard Animal Hospital an email describing my Cat's pain issue, the Manger responded the next day, for an appointment for my cat within 4 days. Everyone was friendly, kind and caring, and gave my cat Sunny very good treatment. Dr. Bell gave Sunny a good check up, and did an xray of his leg. Prognosis was Sunny had some arthritis and prescribed appropriate medicine. We had never been to Huffard Animal Hospital with our cat, and the treatment was excellent.

I thought my pet was having a medical emergency late in the evening and my local vet was already closed. I googled nearby vets to see if any were still open and ended up calling Huffard Hospital right before they closed and the receptionist was so kind and helpful. She was so knowledgeable on the situation and was able to tell me where all of the nearby vet ERs were. I would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a vet in this area!

While the service and care is generally good the continued price increases are disappointing. While I am aware that inflation is out of control I don’t feel the current pricing at huffard is fair to the customer. There is no reason a normal neuter for a 35lb dog with no complications should be upwards of $700. This is just price gouging. We all need to make a living but this is really taking advantage of people and their pets.

Aweful experience when calling for help for my elderly neighbors dog who possibly dislocated or broke ihis foot which would surely be an emergency and was told they would not be able to see me for 3 weeks then said to go to an emergency vet before hanging up, no number for it or assistance in any other way. I was shocked to say the least that a vet would be so heartless and if that is in anyway how they treat customers I surely DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Yvonne from the front desk goes above and beyond for Schafer german sheppard and provides exceptional care to us for every need. We tried to board our dog here but had major issues with the receptionist as she never entered our dates. Yvonne came to the rescue and was able to fix our dates. The second time we had another problem with the same receptionist and Yvonne had to correct the issue with the phone call and the medication order . This dear, sweet Guinea Pig is called Cinderella. Dr. McAfferty (sorry if I spelled that wrong!) has been taking care of her throughout a terrible urinary infection. The doctor has been wonderful, as well as the staff. Because of Covid, they had to make drastic changes that result in much longer wait times. But that is ok! We are all in this together! The staff have always been the nicest people. Cinderella is struggling and I’m not quite sure what her prognosis is, but Dr. McAfferty listens to me and trusts that I know enough about my animals. Also, I spent a fortune on Cinderella’s initial visit, but as soon as the second visit came and I mentioned that my budget had gotten strained because of it, she has worked with me to help keep costs down. And I really appreciated that.

Not one to post many reviews however credit must be given when credit is due. All in all, great experience. My dog, who is not the best other dogs, started having some emergency symptoms and I needed to get him seen relatively timely. The girl on the phone was great and squeezed me into their hectic schedule. They took great care in his and my own comfort, the communication was great, professional yet friendly and relatable, and took extra steps in making sure there were no stressful encounters for him. Despite the rushes and many customers, the wait was bare. Prices are reasonable and there is no premium for the care that you and your pet receive. Great team, great job!

The staff is very friendly. They're currently having people wait in their cars while a staff member comes out to pick up your dog, but my dog is extra nervous about leaving me, so they allowed me to walk with her to the door. They were also very clear about what they were going to do and about pricing things out beforehand so I knew what I was paying for.

I took my Schnoodle baby to his first appointment today with Huffard and I must say I am VERY pleased with our experience!! We had the best visit ever. Kelly and Dr. Carpenter were so patient with us and very informative. All of our questions were answered and they done amazing giving my baby his shots. I think we have found our forever vet!!

Updated: I went back for a second visit for my dog's vaccine. It seems like Huffard Animal Hospital has improved their check-in waiting. I stayed there for an hour and good service. Staff will come to you and ask for your information and time to check in. The staff brings the paper with all details, which is good. They have improved a lot better than the last time I went there. Waited for 3 hours sitting in the car to get my dog back from the vet’s office. Poor communication with employees. They use smartphone to call and talk with me from the doctor. I repeatedly told the staff and doctor that don’t call us via our cellphone because I am deaf, use text only. This is not a great way to communicate with people with disabilities. Parking has become overcrowded during busy hours. Difficult to find to park the car and check-in.

We've been taking our dog here for years, even after we moved a bit further away. It's tough finding a vet that works well, but the staff here are prompt and very attentive. I've never felt pressured or confused about charges or services, and they follow up by phone after a checkup to make sure everything is going well. Wait times are always short, and they're easy to reach with a phone call or email. Pricing is pretty standard, which means you definitely get a lot for what you pay!

This is the best veterinarian place in Baltimore!! I have a toy poodle and a pit bull. My toy poodle was having an issue with a lump on his head and they took care of him with such a genuine and loving attitude that I said I would start bringing both of my animals here from now on!! Huffard is not my primary vet and they were able to squeeze me in for x-rays when they were extremely busy. They were efficient, knowledgeable, compassionate and referred me to a specialist and set up a same day appointment for me. 10/10 recommend. They may be my primary vet from now on :)

My experience at Huffard has been nothing less than incredible. Every single vet tech and doctor I have encountered are so nice and personable, you can tell they really care about the pets they care for. Even when they are busy, they are so patient about having first time pet owners like me asking a million questions to understand what is going on and are so helpful and take the time in explaining things in a way I understand. They are also very quick and eager to respond whether you call, text, or email them. They are a little more expensive than other places, but it is 100% worth the cost for the incredible care they give! I could not ask for a better veterinarian office to look after my babies.

I selected Huffard for my pup two years ago when I brought him home from the breeder. They have not disappointed with the care and support with our pet. Our last appointment was for my pup to receive a heartworm test and a vaccine. when we came in I was advised that they cannot do that canine influenza vaccine as it will require an appointment. I was set to schedule the appointment but when we got into the room we were was advised by the technician that Dr. McCafferty can come in and give him the vaccine. I was like OK. Then after she came in to give the shot she asked about other concerns I have with my pup that she addressed as well. This included a hot spot on the side of his face, a review of the PennHip Assessment that was performed by another facility as I was hearing weird noises from his body since the assessment has been concluded. They went above and beyond the call of duty for me and my pup on this day and I have to say they have never disappointment me in the two years time they have been seeing my pup.

Great vets. BUT! Organizational skills - to be improved. Management clearly doesn't read reviews, and doesn't learn from mistakes. I read the previous reviews, and I see that I'm not the only one. So many people complained that the time on hold is ridiculous. Yet the clinic is still understaffed. To me, it feels like their employees work under pressure, and naturally miss important details. Today my bunny was supposed to have a wellness visit in order to start her insurance policy. In the morning I called the clinic for an unrelated matter, and when I said something about today's appointment, the lady on the phone said that my bunny was checked as a cat in their system, and can not be seeing her today. So whoever scheduled this appointment, went through the whole "new patient" conversation without even bothering about what kind of animal it was. Now our appointment is rescheduled for Saturday which is an inconvenience for me - it delays the start of coverage. Previously, a couple of weeks ago, I had an unpleasant experience coming for an appointment scheduled for 12, arriving at 11:59, and then waiting on hold for 15 minutes just to check in. When I said something about it, the lady on a phone explained that they have only 3 people to answer 6 lines, and some clients wait on hold for half an hour. The way it sounded was as if I should feel lucky that my hold time was under 30 minutes. She also sounded very irritated. I am far from blaming her personally, it's hard to sound happy when you're working in conditions like this. Every time I come, the parking lot is full of cars. Looks like this clinic has many clients and thrives. Why not to hire more personnel to accommodate patients properly? Anyways, if things are not going to improve, I will go ahead and look for a different practice in the area. P.S. I added one star because supervisor Ms. Claire called me within half an hour after I submitted this review. She was very nice. My bunny's appointment is rescheduled for tomorrow. She explained that they are trying to hire more people. I hope they'll find more receptionists to improve waiting time issue.

Great groomers, good vets, but.... 2022 update: They have greatly increased the speed of checkouts. Vets, groomers, staff are all extremely helpful Before 2022: The check out period is something else entirely. I've waited 30 mins to and hour many times just to have someone give me my dog. Even before covid it took 15 to 20 mins to pay (vet side) which is the longest check out I've ever experienced animal or human. Now it's still 15 to 20 mins to pay. If you get your pet 30 mins after that, consider yourself lucky. Last time I finally asked it's been over 35 mins can I get the dog and the four people sitting outside said they knew nothing about it and couldn't help in any way. I wish they would just let us grab our own pets and leave. Great groomers, decent vet, but schedule at least an hour for pick up. (Th

They are thorough and patiently answer all of my questions. We have always had a great experience here. And during the pandemic, humans wait in the car while they take your pet in. Recently my wife and I had to euthanize our beloved cat, after 16 years. We normally took her to Millersville Animal Hospital, but she was dying and riding in the car terrified her... and we lived close to Huffard. We called and Huffard was incredibly sympathetic and understanding, immediately making an appointment. I took my cat Simba in because of a blockage in his small intestine, which prevented him from eating or drinking the past couple of days. Not only were they one of the few places willing to get back to me on black friday, but they were able to make an urgent care appointment available. During the visit I did notice a large number of callers making many of the lines occupied, but with the volume of calls, appointments, and walk ins [such as myself] I believe they have been neglected the appreciation they deserve for their service and diligence. Not only was Simba able to be seen, but the surgery was able to take place the same day and he is now in recovery. So from me to all the staff, from doctors to reception counter: "I whole heartedly thank you for the work you have done and continue to do!" The cost of the operation was compared with a family member who is a vet in DC, and the pricing is fair. However, I can't concern myself with price when it comes to keeping my family safe [Including the newest member, Simba]. Again I thank all the staff for helping Simba and I in this time of need!

We've been customers of Huffard for years. Last night at 7pm our beloved 14 year old cat suffered a devastating stroke. The team at Huffard allowed us to bring him immediately, regardless of their closing in an hour. They showed such compassion and care as we euthanized our cat. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to our cat, and we were very disappointed with our current vet who had been handling her care over the past couple of months. We knew it was time due to a sudden change overnight, and they made us a priority when they knew our cat needed immediate emergency care. They made the whole process as pleasant as it could possibly be, and the amount of care and compassion they had to both us and our beloved cat was incredible. Also, we felt so lucky that they knew the importance of being with your pets during the last moments despite covid. Dr. Archambault was by far the best Vet I have EVER taken my dog to. She was caring and compassionate! Also she was very understanding with all my questions I had and never once was short with us. She even called to check on our dog after we came home just to check on her. The staff was amazing as well the care they gave to my dog was amazing. I wouldn’t go anywhere else but here with my pets.

I give a three because their prices are insane. They treat pets well and are super friendly, but their quotes and charges are so unreasonable. I've received second and third opinions from other vets for the same services and their estimates are a FRACTION of the cost. Our pup had a skin tag for which we received an estimated cost of $200. It seemed high, so I said we would wait. We went back two times and each time that estimate SKYROCKETED once to $500 and the next to upwards of $1k. They claimed our dog was "too hyper" and he needed to be sedated which required pre-op bloodwork and other tests. For a small skin tag. Each time they tried to make me feel guilty as if I just didn't want to spend the $ on my dog. We moved and ended up getting another opinion from our new vet. In and out in 30 min, they removed the skin tag with local anesthetic for $100. Yes $100 rather than a THOUSAND. The vet who performed this procedure said our dog was calm and it was no problem. They will treat your pet well, but get quotes before committing to procedures.

The staff was very accommodating and helpful with my dog who has special precautions around other dogs. They made sure our path was clear and got us into an exam room close to the front. They even let me check out in the room so we wouldn’t have to anxiously wait in the lobby. Their prices are reasonable for the area. I appreciate them taking the time to review the price breakdown with the procedure my dog needs and the aftercare he’ll receive instead of just handing me a piece of paper. I had to take my baby girl Tigger 😻 to see the doctor but was so disappointed when I couldn't go in with her. It was like I was leaving my daughter at school for the very first time. After the doctor examined her she called me on the phone we talked about what she wanted to do for the her care. I would definitely recommend this for all your animals needs. The staff is very friendly, caring and knowledgeable. Very pleased with the compassion that was given to my baby girl Tigger 😻😻!!

I recently went here for the first time ever. When my primary vet would not let me be with my cat for the euthanasia, Huffard allowed it and for that I am so grateful. They placed an IV with an extension line to maintain some distance while still allowing me to be there holding my cat. Such a good idea, and so caring. They were also very organized and kind. They also offered to provide a paw print imprint and some of his hair at no charge. I picked up my cat's remains today and I am very satisfied with it all. The paw print is a 3D impression and the hair came in a cute little bottle with a ribbon. If I get another animal, I would definitely bring them here just based off my experience. Their COVID-19 protocol is also very well done.

Called today needing to have my cat looked at even though we were new patients and it was short notice. The receptionists were very kind and nice and helped check us in very quickly. Dr. Jones is amazing. I'm so happy that she took the time to listen to our concerns about our cat and took very good care of her. Plus our cat loved her too. Have been taking my cats there for 11 years now, Dr. Plitt is so good and lets me bring all 3 at one time so cats are everywhere in the exam room. When I moved to Westminster 4 years ago, the last thing I wanted to find was a new vet. I continue with Huffard's they are the best, the couple times I have not been able to get right in with Dr. Plitt another vet has taken over and everyone has been so great. Very caring and compassionate. Will continue to make the 1 hour drive to take them there.

100% the best around the Pasadena area. I have taken my dogs there for a little over a year and have had nothing but fantastic service from everyone there. From the Vets, the front desk staff, and the boarding and grooming staff, everyone is super friendly and knows their stuff. We use to go to Dr. Grey with our first pup and the first time we ever went there she got down on the ground with our pup (who was very scared and shy) and made her feel comfortable the whole time. Unfortunately she has left Huffard but every time we go back, the Vets are so excited and very friendly towards our dogs! Huffard is expensive, and I hate looking at the bill sometimes, but it is the only places that I trust with my dogs and giving us the right care for them.

I brought my cat in yesterday afternoon after one of his teeth fell out and we saw Dr. Jones. Dr. Jones was absolutely great! She really went over Fluffy's dental disease and explained how we should handle it moving forward. She gave me an estimate for a dental cleaning with extractions to get him all fixed up and it was VERY reasonable, especially with the dental month discount. I used to work at a veterinarians office so I was worried about the estimate but I was truly shocked at how affordable it is. I have seen multiple vets at Huffard and they are all great. They truly care about their clients and their pets! Dr. Jones even mentioned that others places may offer the dental cleaning and extractions at a cheaper cost so it shows they are not out to make a quick buck. However, I would much rather have my trusted vet do the surgery instead of a cheaper place that I'm not familiar with. Fluffy is looking forward to his cleaning and extractions in two weeks!

My dog had what looked like a seizure and this was the closest open place. They took us right in despite being 30 minutes to closing and were amazing. She gets very nervous at the vet and I was very pleased with how they treated her. They were kind and considerate with her and loved on her the whole time we were there. My very first experience was "ok" at best. I did not think the doctor was not as involved as maybe she should have been. Every visit after that, we got a new doctor and it was smooth sailing. The location was extremely convenient for me, but that did not play a huge roll in this facility caring for my pets. The front desk stay is wonderful, to say the least. They were always welcoming and smiling and really enjoyed my dogs active presence. They would always offer a room for us to wait in, as oppose to the waiting area in front, because my dog gets over excited around other pets and that gesture was always great for us. The appointments were always easy to make and accommodated my families schedule. My dog also received surgery here for a cancer mass. All went well and the doctor even called us during his procedure about another mass we questioned about during a previous visit to see if she could go ahead and remove it to be on the safe side. Of course, we had to pay for that extra, but it was nice for her to call and ask. Overall our total experience was a pleasant one. All three of my dogs were able to be in and out of there appointments in a timely manner and the staff was always great to encounter. We no longer live in the area, but if I had to choose, I would take my pets back here. The facility also offers boarding and grooming. We did not use these services, but it was great to have the option.

This is one of the best places I’ve taken my dog in Maryland. I’ve been to vets all the way from the shore to the mountains in Maryland. My dog is like my baby so I am very careful which vets he goes to. The prices are also ok compared to other places I’ve been. They have plenty of waiting space so you can avoid being right next to other animals if yours is shy. Plus they usually have animal planet or something like that playing in their waiting room; what’s better than that?? They always call me after I visit for a specific problem to make sure everything is still going alright. I appreciate that follow up. Their staff has also always been friendly and helpful. We’ve had everything from cracked teeth to surgery follow-ups here and we’ve never been disappointed with the service. We also haven’t had trouble getting appointments when we need them and the staff are willing to work with you in adjusting to get you in. I’m planning to keep using this place as long as I live in the area and I recommend them to anyone I know who has a pet.

I had an appointment at 2pm they came to get my dog 25 minutes later, I said I was going across the street to Chic filet and would be right back. They called me 3 times asking where I was, without my dog being ready to be picked up. When I got back after 15 minutes I waited until 3:45 to pick up my dog. When they brought me my dog they had different medication for my dog, and not the med what she needed. You maybe under staffed, but get it together!

I can not say enough wonderful things about Huffard. I have been bringing my Yorkie there since 2013 and have been very pleased with the staff. Dr Gray is simply the best and I would not trust anyone else. That's why when I recently got a new puppy I didn't hesitate one bit to have Dr Gray be his vet as well. She really takes the time to get to know you and your furry children and provides generous advice and puts you at ease with any questions you may have. I will say that I once had a skin issue with my Yorkie and I called Huffard and received a same day appointment with another vet in the practice, unfortunately I don't remember her name but she was also very sweet and promised to update Dr gray the next day. The very next day Dr Gray called me herself to check in on my handsome boy. That's rare these days and speaks volumes about how much Huffard really cares. I also would highly recommend their Grooming Department. miss Julie does a wonderful job.

I went to Huffard's a few years ago with an emergency, my dog was obviously extremely sick and I needed to get him to the vet on a Sunday morning. The staff was amazing and took every step possible to explain why he was sick. I had to put him down that day and Dr. Carpenter was amazing. I take my dog Finn for day care every Thursday and it is absolutely money well spent the staff is so friendly and kind and you can tell they really love what they do. I even had a emergency where I needed to drop him off for daycare and they more than accommodated me. Huffard Animal Hospital is the only place I trust to treat my guinea pigs. Finding a veterinarian who treats guinea pigs is not easy, so Huffard is fortunate to have two on staff who are both excellent. Drs. McCafferty and Goldman showed professionalism and compassion when I had to euthanize my boar last month and in the treatment before Bandit ultimately stopped responding to it. After Bandit died, they made a casting of his paw prints and gave me a lock of his fur. They placed him in a box with a poem about how we did the best thing for him. Today, I got a sympathy card in the mail. I've taken my guinea pigs to Huffard for at least 15 years and will continue to do so. I cannot say enough good things about them.

New to the area, found Huffard vet, pugs needed a nail trim and 1 needed a distemper shot. Called expecting the 2 week delay for an appointment that I’ve been running into and was pleasantly surprised to be able to get an appointment the next day to have everything done. The office area is setup perfectly with segregated areas so the different pets can relax while waiting. Techs are wonderful, Dr. Colleen Mccafferty put the boys at ease and did an excellent job with the exams and administrating the shot. And the final bill didn’t give me heart failure like at some vets. :-) Really glad we found them!

Unlike some other reviewers, I never felt that my vet visits were rushed, but they certainly are busy. If you are a regular customer, the staff at the front desk will greet you by name. I've been to some other places where they don't even bother to know who you are. The staff here is amazing. They are absolutely unsurpassed in caring for both pets and owners. When we had to put down our beloved cat Persephone, they were so professional. There was a special comfortable room. They gave us as much time as we needed both before and after the injection, even though it was closing time. They did not rush us at all or push us to make the decision. I will always respect them for taking care of us and her during this time.

My boxer has been going downhill for awhile now due to old age (12-14) and what we suspected was cancer. She had good days and bad days. Late Saturday night/Sunday morning was really bad. We could not wait any longer as she was now in pain. Our vet was closed on Sunday and Huffard's was open. I called and I believe her name was Amanda (sorry, I was too upset, I hope I got her name correct) answered the phone. I am sure she had a hard time understanding me as I was crying uncontrollably. She was so patient, she even went into a quiet room so she could hear and understand me better. She did her best to calm me down. She was so comforting, compassionate and understanding. She told me to bring her in immediately. She told me that 2 people could come in to be with her during the euthanasia (due to Covid). My husband was getting dressed to take her. I prayed that God would take her so we didn't have to move her and thankfully that happened. My baby was able to cross the rainbow bridge at home. I called Amanda back and she was so sympathetic. We chose to go with Huffard's to have her cremated. The decision was absolutely based off of how great Amanda was during this entire situation. I am waiting for her ashes and am sure that everything will be wonderful. Thank you Huffard's for helping our family during this time.

Amazing experience over all!!!! I have a 1.5 year husky who I think ate something he shouldn’t have (I hope that was case atleast). Anyway he was vomiting and shaking on the floor for 30-60 seconds. We dashed up to the clinic for the first time, took us in as emergency no questions asked. Only charged $$80-$90 for emergency service. We got a follow up call 3 days later. Luckily he has been fine since the incident. I fully recommend this vet I even tried to give extra money but the would not accept it. THANKS HUFFARD!!!!!!!!!

I called hufford on 4/20 asking for them to put my cat down because it was her time . They fit me in that day and just told me to call before coming ! On the way there , my cat had passed . during such a difficult time & during a pandemic - they were very friendly, & professional! We got two puppies and they were very sick with a bacteria infection. Yes it did cost to get them better but when you get a dog consider the cost of their up keep. Don't assume your just going to put out money for shots. The staff and Dr. McCafferty were wonderful. They knew I was upset about having to leave them over night when I had just had them for about 5 weeks. They made me feel secure about leaving them and kept me updated plus put up with my calls. I have always had large dogs and this was my first experience with small breeds. They saved me money as they knew if one dog had the bacteria so did the other so they mixed there samples so I only had to pay for one test. Also when we were there an obviously very ill dog came and you could tell the distress of the owner as I'm sure the dog was older and not going to pull through. Not only how they cared for the dog but the owner impressed me. The staff is always welcoming and I highly recommend them.

The staff are great I had my dog put down there and they treated him phenomenal. We adopted a new dog after his passing she got pregnant ( we thought she was spayed) however we took her there because she had an infection in her nipple/ milk duct. They quoted us 180.00 for an antibiotic which was ridiculous we had it filled at Wal-Mart for 70.00. I can understand a mark up however that's extremely high amount. So if you go there make sure you plan to spend. If your in it to help people care for their pets you shouldn't try to take advantage of it.

Their staff worked with us to get him early appointments and in a room right away so he wouldn't get into trouble in the waiting room. My dog Daisy has been cared for by the staff at Huffard Animal Hospital since she was a puppy, which was 8 years ago. I have always been happy with the service and the friendly atmosphere that you get when you walk in the door. Recently I experienced an even greater display of caring. One day a few weeks ago Daisy was not herself, she was lethargic and not eating. I became very concerned and I called Huffard's and informed them that I did not have an appointment, but I needed the Vet to examine Daisy. They told me to bring her in and they would fit her in. I expected to have a lengthy wait since I was a "walk-in", but to my surprise, 10 minutes later they took me right back to the examination room. As it turned out she just had an upset stomach, they gave me an instruction sheet on what to do and when to do it and they answer my questions. As always the staff was very professional and thorough with her examination. The staff there you can clearly see they are all animal lovers. Happy ending Daisy is fine, thanks to the excellent care at Huffard's. I'm better too.

Although they took very good care of our puppies, gave them each a very thorough exam and confirmed our suspicions, I felt more like I was in a human ER than a veterinarian's office. I cannot begin to tell how wonderful these people are! My dog had not been to visit the vet in a long time and when she had a growth in her ear that broke open and had an arterial spray, she was losing blood too fast, we called them and they said bring her right in. No shaming me for our absence, not even while we waited for what could be done and how much the estimate would be, they just showed her love and compassion and us humans too. Then, while expecting the surgery she needed to be the next morning (today as I write this) I get a call from Dr. McCafferty that she has already done the surgery pretty much right after we left as she couldn't leave her overnight in that condition. I can think of lots of places that would have done just that....but not Huffard. They have always loved our pets. My doggy is happy and healthy this morning because of them and we can pick her up after work. Huffard does great work and they really do love our pets. - UPDATE as of 9/19/16 - took a stray kitty we took in who had kittens as she was very sick, not eating, drinking and generally lethargic. They once again provided OUTSTANDING service - kitty was feeling MUCH better by the weekend (visited on Thursday) and is now almost 100%.

Dr. McCafferty always takes care of us. she's very thorough and very sensitive to our pet's needs. If there's a test she could run to make money but she feels it truly is unnecessary she'll let you know and she won't do it. She'll do only what's necessary and she'll warn you ahead of time of the costs involved in particular treatments and blood work and other preventive measures. And we've had good experiences with some of the other veterinarians there also. They've all taken the time with our animals and none of them rushed to conclusions. Going to the vet is never a cheap experience but the doctors there make it a little easier to absorb by the quality of care we receive, usually it doesn't take too long to get in, appointments can be cancelled within just a couple of hours for your convenience, and with the constant communication we receive from them. Dr. McCafferty even called us In the middle of the week to see how our cat was doing if she prescribe certain medication for her. Oh no I give it a 5 out of 5 stars. I will recommend them to anyone who has a pet that they really care about.

My wife and I ask ourselves why we waited so long to switch to Huffard Animal Hospital. The place is busy, busy, busy, but once you get in there and your pet is treated, you will know why the place is so busy. The only drawback folks is you have to be watchful as you are approaching the front doors and if the staff is taking care of multiple customers at the front desk, it might be a good idea to wait outside or move inside and into the waiting area. There is only a few feet between the front door and the reception desk. Other than that, nice job Huffard!

You get what you pay for. Yes it is expensive to take your animals here but they receive great care. They have saved my dogs lives several times and as soon as we walk through the front door they know us, which is nice. My Dad's Pomeranian stopped walking all of a sudden last night. I called the hospital this morning and they were completely booked with Emergency appointments. Every Vets office gets its share of bad reviews.. but I love the staff and Dr McCafferty here. Dr McC adores all animals and will love on/greet them before talking to you,especially if the fur baby is one of her regulars. Which to me, is How It Should Be!! She always takes care of my choc. Lab Groot and just loves on and adores him. He became her patient at 9 weeks old when he had to have one of his eyes removed because of a genetic problem. Dr McC was kind, thorough and called me herself to update me on his progress and how surgery went. To look at my best doggie friend, you’d never know he was missing an eye unless you look really closely. Otherwise he appears to be *winking*. I won’t go anywhere else. Huffard is our docs’ office.

My pet, Raven a 13 and half years old lab was bleeding from her mouth and nose and obviously was sick and not injured in any way. I was very concerned, because of her age I thought this was a sign her life was coming to its end. I called Huffard as I have always done for my pets and was told to bring her in. My regular vet examined her, took some tests and prescribed meds. She is now, a week later back to her regular healthy self. I cannot think of any veterinarian establishment I would ever take my pets to unless I had no choice in a dire emergency. We (my daughter and I) took our kitty, Camo to Huffard Animal Hospital for an urgent care visit on Sunday morning. We are not regular clients of Huffard, but our vet does not have Sunday hours. We were treated with courtesy from the moment we walked in the door. We were taken to a room within 15 minutes of arriving, despite not having an appointment. The vet assistant was very kind and saw that Camo was nervous and tried to offer him some treats. The vet arrived after a short wait. She examined Camo with care and suggested an x ray to rule out a broken or dislocated bone. When the x ray showed no bone issues she explained that Camo most likely had a sprain or strain and that she could give him an anti inflammatory medicine. Throughout the entire visit we were treated with kindness and respect. The vet and vet assistannt both chatted briefly with my daughter, who wants to be a vet when she grows up. We are grateful for a vet practice that was able to see us for urgent care on a Sunday and treated us kindly. Camo appears to be doing better today after his third day of Onsior. I was able to move his leg and he did not complain at all. Thank you Huffard Animal Hospital!

My family and I switched to Huffard from Arnold Pet Station since APS prices and expectation of care level (tooth cleaning, cancer treatment, etc) were so extreme. Huffard is CHEAP comparatively and the service is top-notch. I am a college student taking care of an aging cat on a tight budget - we brought our older cat here to be put down and something that could've been a horrifying experience was only a little bit sad. They are clearly looking out for the animals without being pushy about pricing or service - "I'm sorry, I just can't afford the extra money to do that" is an acceptable answer here. They understand that a good home doesn't have to mean a rich home. I miss the cleanliness of APS but I was so sick of feeling emotionally manipulated by their staff and jacked-up prices and I am thrilled to have found somewhere where my cat can be happy and healthy on a budget.
