I've been taking my dog to EMRVC for 14 years. She is a very anxious pup and the staff, technicians and vets have always been very accommodating allowing me to stay with her during nail cuts, exams and even blood draws to keep her anxiety level to a minimum. My pup is also very stubborn with taking any type of medication. They have always worked with me to offer an alternative treatment (i.e. shot vs pill) which was very helpful in maintaining her health. I would highly recommended EMRVC if you are looking for a vet.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr Zulty, Dr Hicks, Dr Beizavi and the cheerful techs and support staff. They give compassionate care to all their animal patients. In addition, they're always patient and understanding with their human caregivers and go the extra mile to explain procedures and treatments. The treatment plans are explained ahead of time in writing, and now they have an online prescription service with extremely competitive prices. I've been bringing my animals to EMRVC since 2008 and I cannot imagine going anywhere else.

We took our cat there to get his nails trimmed because some of them were in to the pad of his paw. The did an amazing job trimming them and making sure there were trimmed back enough. While there they also looked at a wound he has and cleaned it up and gave him an antibiotic shot.

When it came time to put my pup to rest, they handled everything amazingly. Gave me time to say goodbye. Let me hold him until he was at rest. Didn't rush me out, even let me walk out of the back door (I couldn't get myself together). Everybody was comforting along the way. Thank you guys for everything.

Unfortunately I never took my dog here b/c I never travel on the other side of Eastern Blvd, so I never noticed it. However, my furry best friend passed away last week, and they were able to take care of Chico's final remains which was TOUGH for me. First time losing a pet in my life. I chose the paw print and hair clipping. I have to say that I was very happy (although sad at the same time) that they were thoughtful in the process and gave me clippings of all 3 colors of his hair since he was a Tri-colored dog. I was scared I'd only get the black, but the fact that they thought that through was very thoughtful. If I get another pet, I will come here. Everyone was very nice and sympathetic even though my pet was not a patient there.

This place has given my dog great care for 9 years. From the free puppy play class they offered to them fitting me on their very busy schedule to get my dog a vaccine he needed so he could be boarded, they are all just awesome all the way around.

My dog "Shotzie" has his share of aging dog health and allergy problems that need expert care. Although he's seen other vet's in his younger years Essex Middle River has been by far the best care he's had for years. He loves Dr. Hicks & Dr. Zulty and his feelings matter to me.

Absolutely fantastic. Dr. Hicks is the absolute best. She has been our vet since my dogs were 6 and 8 days old. When we lost our oldest dog she cried right with us. She felt like he was one of her own since she had him at 8 weeks and he passed away at 13 1/2. Absolutely love her and her compassion and care goes above and beyond.

I sincerely want to thank the team of Essex Middle River Veterinary Center who really came through for my pet who required surgery. Dr. K and Dr. Beizavi are AWESOME! I felt so reassured by their care, treatment. The staff are excellent as well. Always quick to get you in to see doctors, helpful, giving guidance and support in the care of my pet. My only two criticisms would be to give more education/demonstration to owner of pet on how to administer pet medications to pet. I felt very uncomfortable with this and clearly not successful with this as I would have liked to be. I really struggled with getting my sick pet to take the oral medications prescribed. The pricing is a little high but all vet centers are also pricey. Wish there was some type of insurance for pets. But the TEAM at EMRVC are really caring about animals! Thank you EMRVC Team for everything you did to help my sick pet get better! I LOVE YOU ALL!

I love Dr. Hicks. Her & I have been through 2 sickly dogs who have since passed. I now have a cat who has seizures whom we have adjusted his phenobarbital and are monitoring the effect on his system. Whatever Dr. Hicks recommends is in the best interest of the pet.

EMR vets, techs and staff are professional courteous and friendly. I appreciate the fact that they have never tried to up- sell their services. I have always managed to get appts usually within a day. Prices are reasonable and I get meds super fast. I recently had to make the difficult decision to allow my dog to go to her external resting place. The staff was very supportive, comforting and compassionate. Dr. Hicks and Dr. Preston have been taking care of my dogs and feral cats, (yes feral) since I moved into the area 3 years ago. I was very happy to find EMR Vets as i had visited others in the and i did not have the same level of comfort.

Essex middle river vet clinic is my go to spot when I need good reliable service everybody and I mean everybody are very helpful and nice. I had to take my fur baby daisy in for a surgery they fixed her all up the next morning they called to check on her they beat my to the call as I was going to call them with a few questions….very good prices and your fur babies will be in great hands here I highly recommend going here and for me it is super convenient as they are right around the corner from my house. The staff here is top notch I really can’t say enough good about this clinic if you go to them you will see what I’m talking about give them a shot and you will not regret it.

We take both of our cats here. Very good vets, they keep the cats healthy and happy. They treat them like they're their own pets. Reasonable prices, and they keep track of shots and wellness checks so you don't have to. They'll even send your pet birthday greetings.

I lost a couple of older dogs not too long ago, this animal hospital is tops! They were gentle, kind and sympathetic. I have a one year old dog now and she needed shots and a look over. My vet does a wonderful job making friends with my animals and being “tops” on their care and educating me. I will never go anywhere else. Oh, did I mention the other folks that work there are really great folks!

I had to change veterinary clinics because the one I've gone to for 40+ years closed and I was very apprehensive about going to another clinic, but I had no choice when my lab injured her leg so I ended up going to Essex Veterinary Clinic because it was close and I had heard good things about them. They did a great job and I was especially amazed at the caution they take due to COVID-19, they been very transparent and informative was well as patient and from what I could see great at treating my Riley. They don't rush, they listen, ask all the right questions to properly treat you loved one. Thanks to EVERYONE at the clinic I'm very comfortable with my choice and so is Riley.

We have taken our two pups to Essex Middle River. Visits have been good and Dr Preston is awesome. Very knowledgeable. There were a couple of instances of billing issues, where we were overcharged or not informed of a charge on the bill. It always got resolved. The pricing could use to be a little lower/competitive. We had to shop around when getting ready to spay our dog. It was like a few hundred dollars more than another vet.

I brought my dog in for an ear infection. Essex Middle River is not my regular veterinary hospital that I use but they are the closest. I was really happy especially since they could see me that day within an hour or so, wow. Very professional and compassionate and the complete list of services they offer was really impressive. I was also happy with the treatment they used for his ear (a one time dose that they administer) no drops -whew! They are tempting me to switch DVMs!

Dr Preston is amazing. We refer to her as our puppyatrition. She has taken care of our fur babies for the last 8 years. The other team members are wonderful as well. The technicians are very good and very caring. We would not take Sunshine or Sheldon to any other veterinarian. Everyone was very nice. The intake nurse was patient and listened to my concerns and made sure she got all the information correct. The doctor was incredible he ask questions and answered everyone of my questions. Even helped with extra information I didn’t think to ask. I’m extremely satisfied with this dog and cat hospital. I don’t usually review places, but my family had to make the very difficult decision to put our 12-year-old cat, Lexie, to sleep, and they were amazing with the whole process. Every member of the staff gave their condolences and took very good care of Lexie in her final moments. They gave us plenty of time to say our goodbyes and decisions were all up to us. The kindness made a very sad experience just a little more tolerable.

I do recommend this Vet. We were unable to have our cat seen quickly, so they recommended we call first thing in Saturday to see if we could be squeezed in due to a cancellation and it worked. Our cat was diagnosed and provided the correct medicine. The doctor was friendly and thorough. My only complaint was the side effects of the medication that were not disclosed. They are relatively minor, but not negligible. Take your pets here, but check out prescriptions online before getting them filled.

Just took my dog here for the first time because my previous vet closed down and I couldn't be more happy with the way they treated my baby. It was a no contact visit but Dr. Beizavi explained everything he was doing over the phone. Everyone was so friendly and informative and took such good care of my boy that it's now our new vet. I'm very pleased with our first visit. Staff were very pleasant and kind to our kitty. She's a shy girl but was treated very softly. We didn't wait long, they got us in quickly. The waiting area is clean and spacious, so your pet will have plenty of room and distance from other pets. Before making an appointment, I called around to get pricing, and this place actually has very good prices. I'm mentioning it since I've seen it brought up in other reviews.

***Update**** on October 15th our dog passed away, we took her to Essex Middle River Veterinary Center and they took very special care of her. We were overwhelmed yesterday, October 21, when we received a lock of hair and her paw prints along with a card from the clinic. It was amazing feeling to receive this from them. This place is absolutely incredible. First of all, of all of the vets I've been to, this is by far the nicest and the cleanest. ALL of the staff is so polite and compassionate, my goofy German Shepherd has severe anxiety of the vet and FREAKS out whenever he has to go... EVERYONE here was just so accommodating and helpful, and better yet, UNDERSTANDING! We saw Dr. Budge and he was an absolute delight: answered all of our questions, explained things thoroughly and helped us get our Shepherd feeling better. All of he information is provided up front for you and you're not blind sided with anything, AND the prices are reasonable! I will definitely be bringing my boy back here from now on!

EMRVC is very professional & compassionate about our pets. We recently had to have our 14 yr old lab Cindy Lou put to sleep & the staff & Dr. Beizavi we’re just so compassionate & comforting, even sending a sympathy card days later with her paw print as a keepsake. Even as far back as 12 years ago, my cat had a severely broken leg that needed surgery with hardware. Dr. Joseph Zulty did his surgery & was so compassionate & skilled with his care, even let me take some time to pay for the surgery and was more concerned about Max’s leg being fixed & his health. They truly care about the animals & I highly recommend this vet clinic.

My 12 year old boxer had a skin tag that would not stop bleeding. They got her in quickly and were very calm with my panic. Shauna (but I know that isn't the right spelling) was patient and helpful and Dr. Anne Hicks called (limited contact appointments) and walked me through everything they would do, had the expected costs and everything. She called back and let me know everything went well and Sugar was doing well. And then at the end of the night when they realized they overcharged me, THEY CALLED ME BACK TO ISSUE A REFUND!! Amazing service to my pup and to me. Highly recommend!!

I was on gold for over 25min and hung up. They were suppose to schedule my dog for a nueter and call back. Never did. Very disappointed in their treatment. Been going there for 25 years I know times are hard but you should be able to get your pets in a reasonable amount of time.

I’ve been taking my Golden to EMRV for 9 years and I’m always very happy with their service! Everyone at EMRV is very good with my dog and they are very friendly and patient with her even with all of her anxiety. Pre-Covid the office was always clean and neat. My most recent visit on Monday (10/5/20) was limited contact and the process was very easy. I stayed in my car and talked to the Dr. on the phone once my dog was being seen.

I chose this as my new Vet in Baltimore after reading the reviews. My first appointment was today and I realized I made the right choice. From the initial phone call, to the front desk staff, to the vet-tech and then the Doctor every single person I encountered treated me and my pup with care and respect. My little guy had blood drawn and the techs were gentle and informative. The Doctor explained everything, and listened to my questions and provided informative feed back. I highly recommend this clinic and I will be making them Nugget’s permanent vet. Oh...you should check out their nail trimming technique...I had Nugget’s trimmed today after his wellness exam. This place is a class act.

EMRVC has been my fur babies doctors for years. Granted they may not be the cheapest in town but they treat my pets, in all stages of life, with love and respect. I have never been disappointed with the service or questioned their motives. They are knowledgeable and have good hours for making appointments. I would recommend them to anyone looking.

They have been our vets for 15 years. Or previous vet was slightly cheaper, but I have found that you get what you pay for. I would rather pay a little more and know that my dog's are taken care of, always! And the staff are great also.

This staff treats the pets like their pets. I know a lot of places say that, but these people SHOW that. When we had to put out Shelby down after a long battle with Lymphoma, they cried with us and those who weren't on staff that night cried for us in the days that followed. When Hemi was found, emaciated, dumped on the side of a road; we brought her in and decided that her terrible start to life was something we needed to make up for, they all looked at this puppy and said to Hemi, You have no idea how spoiled and how good your gonna have it!' That warmed our hearts knowing that the respect we held for them, they held for us as well! They're a great staff, caring people, and truly animal lovers!!! We love this veterinary hospital!

Absolutely love the staff. I've seen three out of the four vets here. They are all amazing and have great bedside manor. We've been bringing our bulldog puppy here since march ish and she even got her spay surgery there and they did wonderful. I will definitely be bringing my other dog here. Definitely recommend. And for those complaining about price, you get what you pay for in my opinion. I find EMRV to be priced perfect for the services and friendly staff. I'd recommend them to anyone. UPDATE: today 9/16 we saw Dr. Zulty and he is by far my absolute favorite. We've never been specific when we schedule because we love everyone there, but his vibe was amazing and the way he handled our two dogs was wonderful. Staff is always friendly and even the other families that bring their furr kids here are nice! Never a long wait.

I have been going here with my animals for a few years, previous to that my parents had always taken our family pets to EMRVC.. They are a little pricey, HOWEVER there service justifies it. I am always greeted with a smile and my pets are always welcomed with a petting and a treat. Appointments are easy to make and always easily available. One of my "pet-peeves" is the cleanliness of an office, every time I'm there I see an employee cleaning, which is awesome because then you know it's clean.. I also love the constant reminders you get emailed, for your scheduled visits and future visits you need to schedule. I have tried other vet offices here and there, but I always find myself back at EMRVC wishing I had spent the extra few dollars.

This episode with my german shepherd was the first time I used this vet because I live in Havre de Grace. He needed a special operation that my vet at home doesn't do. I was so impressed with their actions and all the follow ups with Dr Leggett that I'm thinking on changing vets. My dog is not fond with vets, but seems to have taken to Dr Leggett. It has been worth the extra travel time.

I discovered EMRVC a few years ago when I had my cat put down and needed to find a vet that would cremate her at a reasonable price. I made a last minute decision to have someone come to my home to put my cat down. I then needed to take her to a vet to have her cremated. I arrived at EMRVC a few minutes before they closed. They welcomed me empathetically and gave me as much time as I needed to part ways with my girl. A few days later I received a card from EMRVC which included a note from my cat, some of her fur, and her paw print. The card also invited me to visit them when it was time for me to have another fur baby. A few weeks later I received my cats' remains in a beautifully carved wooden box. I decided I would definitely give them a try in the future. A few months later I started taking my newly rescued mastiff there, and a year later, I took my kitten to them. Since then, I've convinced many friends and family members to make EMRVC their vet- we couldn't be happier.
