We absolutely love this place. We recently moved back to the area after being in another city for 5 years. We have seen multiple doctors in the office but highly recommended Dr. Humane to anyone looking for a vet. Our dog has cancer and we are managing her symptoms. Dr. Humane regularly checks on Scarlet and always returns our calls if we have questions. Cannot say enough good things about PFAH

Thank you all for getting me and my dog seen so quickly especially as a new client! I cannot recommend them enough as they were quick efficient in getting the tests & results needed for my dog who ended up having Lymphoma Stage III. I was going to another vet before this, and it took them way to long and was just way to complicated and annoyed at how much I was calling to get information on a what was very time sensitive information on my dog and his results. Powers Ferry Animal Hospital showed me that there are still Vets around that care about each individual animal and their owners! Dr. Alex is who I was working with during this tough time, and I truly appreciated her understanding, sympathy and efficiency the whole processes!

This is an absolutely brilliant and wonderful place. When I learned my newly-adopted kitten had a rough prognosis and was unable to survive long, I asked my veterinarian (Dr. Smith) if there was anything that could be done. As it turns out, one of the vet technicians cared enough about my kitten that they wish to provide him support personally and make sure his days are comfortable. I know that he's going to have the gentlest days that can be provided to him. I will miss him dearly. Every step of the way, the staff were wholly empathetic. When I was sobbing outside the building while trying to come to terms with the prognosis, I was offered a cup of water. I didn't know they knew I was still there. Someday, when I gather the courage to try adopting another pet, I hope that Powers Ferry will give them the same care and grace.

We love PFAH, my dog was a patient there for 8 years, and she always received the best care and medical attention from the staff. We continued to drive to the practice after we moved to Kennesaw, because we valued them so much! At the end of my dogs life, the office provided such a loving and kind environment for us on such a hard day. This vets office truly cares for all the patients, fur babies and their humans!

I can not recommend Dr. Scott enough — He was so incredible with both of our cats. And while yes, it is more expensive than some cheaper vet clinics or the SPCA, Dr. Scott never rushes you, he will literally talk to you for as long as you need an answer all your questions, and when our one cat’s eye issue was not resolving, they referred us to Animal Eye Specialists which was a great referral. It genuinely worth the money for really good care.

We have been bringing our many dogs to Powers Ferry Animal Hospital for over 30 years. The level of care is exceptional - knowledgeable, attentive and compassionate. Several years ago Dr. Andy Smith was incredibly capable in treating our golden lab who had a rare autoimmune disease. And just last week Dr Smith successfully performed oral surgery on our 3 year old labradoodle. Our appreciation too goes to Dr. Megan.Wright and Scott Miller for services to our family of loved dogs. This practice is quite simply the best around. I was not happy with my vet and was recommended to Powers Ferry. They truly care about your animal and you. I’ve never felt rushed and they work with you to get the best care for your pet. There aren’t enough words to say how much I love everyone there. I drive 20-25 minutes to get there but I would drive 2 hours. Do not hesitate to bring your beloved pet to this practice.

The staff and vets at PFAH take excellent care of our 9 year old Cavalier King Charles / Cocker Spaniel mix. They are professional, compassionate and thorough. Our first visit was as a second opinion when our vet couldn't figure out why our dog was limping. At our first visit, Dr. Meg Wright figured out what was wrong and referred us to a surgeon where we could have the problem fixed. We have been at PFAH ever since and have been very happy there.

We bring our two mini schnauzers here after spending a lot of time and money at Cumberland Animal Clinic where we were very unhappy with the care we received. Finding the best veterinary care for my dog is so important to me, and I'm so glad to have Powers Ferry Animal Hospital close by! This was my dog's first appointment here, and I was so pleased with their professionalism and care for her. Doctor Human was great. She was so thorough in her call with me and when she came outside to introduce herself (we still can't accompany pets inside due to COVID restrictions). We have taken our Australian Shepherds here twice. Once when our poor Sadie had diarrhea for multiple days and this last time our Koda had an infected cracked toe nail. We will not be taking our babies anywhere else and we will continue to ask for Dr. Manack! We loved her! She even called to check up on our sweet Koda. Even though we like to avoid the vets office… if we need to take them in, we will be taking them to PFAH! Update: we had to take our babies in for a flea problem but I tried to make sure the issue of scabs was taken care of and it seemed to just be looked over. This was until we came back to see another doctor and Dr. Smith was amazing!! He took the time to really look at everything and look at their chart to understand what all might be happening. We love Dr. Manack and have missed her while she’s been away but Dr. Smith is now on our favorites list too!!

On top of being incredibly generous and compassionate, their gentle, tender loving care while examining and treating these sweet kitties truly made what is usually a stressful situation so much more pleasant. It is a great practice. I trust them always. This time I was a bit stunned at the final price of my dogs visit. I would have like them to explain everything they planned to do and the final cost. Vaccines, I expected but the labs were very expensive. I was not expecting a $158 senior dog lab. I would have said don’t do that. I will be more watchful next year.

Dr. Andy Smith is truly an angel on earth. You would be crazy to go anywhere else for care for your animals. We were having trouble introducing our two cats and he made multiple attempts to personally call us back and even spoke to us on a FRIDAY AFTERNOON giving detailed advice to make this a smooth transition for us. You can tell he truly cares about your animals and their health. I will never take my cats anywhere else.

We have used all the doctors over the years with our pets and all are very good. This past weekend, we were worked in the schedule on a Saturday to see Dr. Berkowitz for our sick dog. Incredible staff, they take extremely great care of my pet and are on top of things when it comes to their health and making sure I’m 100% informed. Customer service is also so comforting and bright. Very helpful and great place. 11/10 recommend! Also... For anyone with VERY energetic and squirmy pets, they do a great job of working with the animal and doing what they need to do without harming them in order to get them to be still. I have had horrible experiences in the past with places harming my puppy because they couldn’t get her to sit still any other way. Powers Ferry Animal Hospital gives me peace of mind, I feel very comfortable having my pet there.

PFAH has provided care for 3 of our pets over the last 15 years. The vets we’ve worked with are great and the front desk and technicians are more professional than the counterparts in most of my own doctors’ offices. During the pandemic they have shown better understanding of infection control than have those same human healthcare offices. They have never steered us wrong and have shown us outstanding support when these sweet family members have reached the end of their lives. We’ve moved farther away but will not change vets.

My recent visit to Powers Ferry Animal Hospital was a WONDERFUL experience! From booking the appt. with Jenn, to taking my 14 year old cat IN to see Dr. Smith. I had been to 3 other Vets prior to coming to see Dr. Smith and each of them gave me no answers to some severe behavior problems with my pet. Dr. Smith was so compassionate and thoroughly explained everything to me that he found. He diagnosed her problem immediately and got her on her way back to health within days of treatment. I will be a patient for life! I highly recommend this veterinary practice.

I found PFAH several years ago through a friend’s recommendation. We have a very nervous dog and had a vet that never took vitals or did bloodwork because of how nervous he was (though he was never aggressive). My first time at PFAH, they let us in a back door to help avoid the overstimulation of the lobby. The techs and Dr. Meg always spend such good time with us. Our first visit, Meg was on the floor with our dog, getting him comfortable. She was able to get vitals, bloodwork, and solve issues our dog had for months that went undiagnosed. The office is clean. I can’t say enough good things about PFAH! I have been taking my puppy Goose here since he was 8 weeks old. I’m a first time dog parent and have had SO many questions. We got our 8 mo. golden retriever, Hudson, neutered here and it couldn't have been easier/less stressful. Because of his size, I expected the bill to be at the higher end of the range they provided, and it was $100 less than anticipated. They keep your pup overnight to keep an eye on him, which is a great feature. The staff is friendly and will go above and beyond to help/ ease anxiety that puppy parents can have about their dog going into surgery. The office is always clean and never chaotic, making reluctant pets more willing to visit the vet. I will definitely be referring friends in the area to Powers Ferry.

I'd guess most people either love or hate a vet office and I love my vet. The office staff is very friendly and quickly respond to online prescription requests. My dog sees Dr. Manack and the smile you see in her picture on the website is the same one we are greeted with every time we are in the office. She is upfront about what my dog needs and listens all my concerns, even the ones where I'm just being an overly protective dog dad. The one negative to this office, and it could be a big one to some people, is the cost. Because it's an animal hospital most services will run more than a neighborhood single doctor vet. I would recommend taking the prescriptions to an online site to save some cash.

Our pets are family and we want them to have the absolute best possible care.They tend to be a tad more expensive, but the quality of care is night and day compared to what I've experienced at other places. We started to PFAH after transferring from another vet that constantly threw different medications at our dog that wasn’t fixing the problem. However, from our first visit with Dr. Miller, he throughly reviewed Maggie May’s medical records and listened to our concerns. Maggie is now healthy and doing well! I have been to a lot of vets over my time as a pet owner. Never ever have I felt so confident in the care my babies get here. My dogs are my whole world and the thought of anything happening to them makes me ill. Dr. Manack is FABULOUS and saved my sweet puppy after we rescued him and the rescue group didn't tell us he had some respiratory issues that turned out to be pneumonia that almost killed him. Dr. Manack called me personally to tell me how he was doing during his hospital stay. He's now 2 and healthy as ever. All of the front desk ladies and techs are wonderful as well. Always answering questions and never seem annoyed or rushed. I always feel like my dogs and I are a priority to them. The care plans are always explained thoroughly. My dog had some dental work done recently, and I was so nervous about him going under anesthesia but they assured me he was safe and even called me during his surgery to say he was doing awesome! I truly appreciate these humans for caring so much.

This is our local vet. Most people pick a vet based on proximity, but I would 100% go out of my way to come back here if I had to. I've met with multiple techs for both my dog and cat and they have always been so warm and friendly with them. We rescued my pup just a week ago and they were able to answer all of my questions about health and behavior issues. I highly recommend them!!

I’m a retired teacher, and other than a few years between pets, I have owned dogs all my life. We recently relocated to the Vinings area and I rescued a puppy. After asking around and reading online reviews, the most recommended vet group was Powers Ferry Animal Hospital. In the past month and a half, I’ve seen 2 different vets in three visits and both have been so caring, kind, and professional. I’ve spoken to the front desk person over the phone a few times and that person has taken the time to answer my questions and reschedule the appointments when I had a conflict. Everyone that I’ve seen has been so friendly and wonderful. In all of my years of owning dogs, this is the friendliest and most professional vet group I’ve ever used for my pets. As always, powers Ferry Animal Hospital gave us great service! We had a comprehensive visit, all in one stop! Covid-19 precautions are in place! A masked and gloved tech gets your dog from a specified parking spot after calling you arrived (same procedure for picking up). The doctor called us with diagnose. I paid over the phone and emailed receipt. Dog came home healthy, smelling great! Love our vet!

I started taking my dogs to Powers Ferry Animal Hospital in 1990! I have continued to take my dogs there through my various moves around the city. It is worth a few extra minutes to know that my big goofy mutt gets the best care possible. The staff and doctor's have always been wonderful and have managed to fit me in when I have made frantic calls because something has gone amiss with my dog. When I am out of the country and not easily contacted I use their kennel services because I know Jaycee will be well cared for.

My kitten was throwing up so much that blood actually came out and they managed to see him the next day! I was so happy that they managed to see him so quickly, they checked him out, gave him fluids and even took an xray to make sure he didn’t accidentally eat something bad. It’s been a few days since I lost my dog Neville and having to say goodbye to a pet is obviously one of the hardest things pet owners have to do but the love and compassion shown by the staff and Dr. Miranda at Power’s Ferry was really amazing and made the horrible day much less horrible. Leading up to having to put Neville down, Dr. Miranda saw Neville a week prior without an appointment with no trouble whatsoever when he’d had a serious seizure that would be what set off the chain of events leading us to discover a cancerous tumor deep inside him on his spleen. Unfortunately Neville, who was 14 years old, wasn’t able to rebound or be saved but Dr. Miranda and several other folks in the office were always willing and able to take my calls all that week as we tried various things to see if we could get him to a good place for a possible surgery. Ultimately that wasn’t the outcome but on Neville’s last day, which wasn’t planned, they gladly took us in first thing in the morning when I arrived with him and took us to a quiet room where a soft blanket was already waiting on the floor for him. The procedure was quiet, Dr. Miranda and her tech whispered while they worked near him and when it was over they even made me an ink imprint of his paw. They were unbelievably loving. They treated me and my mom like family and Neville like he was their own dog. This is tough moment but they made us feel so much better. There is no doubt that the folks at Powers Ferry love all the animals that come through the door like they are their own.

I have been a client of Powers Ferry for over 16 years. I have been impressed in particular with the consistency of their practice regardless of the turnover that all vet's offices can sometimes have. Regardless of the vet that you see, you will always get a wonderfully caring and attentive person whose abilities to diagnose and to treat are first rate. In addition to that, I have never felt that they have pushed unnecessary tests or services on me, and believe me, I have had needy animals! In particular though, I love Dr. Smith. His ability to treat the harder cases and to diagnose difficult to treat ailments is amazing. I have an 18 year old cat who was in a very difficult place physically. I had taken her to countless specialists at a point when I first got her. It was finally dr. Smith who figured out what to do to treat her. You will also get the follow up phone call or the call with test results at 7 or at 8 pm at night just because he feels it is important to let you know. If you are looking for a place that will treat your animals with the kind of love and compassion you hope for, this is the vet for you.

Love this place!!! Very clean and nice atmosphere - doesn't feel at all like a clinic. Very large waiting area so I never feel crammed in with other dogs. That said, I rarely wait for long at all. They are prompt in taking me and the pup into a private room and a technician arrives right away to get the rundown on what's up. Something I absolutely LOVE is that they never perform any procedure in the room with me no matter how minimal. They take my dog to the back where the vet checks him out. Dr. Smith and his helpers cared for our animals from 1984 when we got Rufus, our golden retriever, until I moved to VA in the summer of 2014. He treated Rufus until his death, actually sending his helpers to our home to treat him as Rufus could not climb the stairs, and my husband could not lift him. . Our cat, Blackie, was kept in the best of health even after he was hit by a car and had to have surgery on his hip removing one of the bones. Amazingly his body adjusted to this loss after the surgery (as Dr.Smith knew he would) and he could leap and run --and he did for years until he contracted cancer. Dr; Smith handled this difficult time so gently and thoughtfully- I will never forget how he sat on the floor with me after he had put Blackie to sleep and told me he would put him in a little coffin and would carry it out to the car for me - I would not have to check out nor did I have to speak to anyone. I was struggling to keep composed! We had boarded our pets with him every time we went out of town -so they all knew our pets well. With my current pets. Boo, my larger than usual Pomeranian, and Gabriel, my rescue cat, we received the same excellent care, considerate treatment, and expert advice on training and health. Family pets are almost as close to us as children and it is a great relief to find an excellent veterinarian to help us care for them. Now that I live on my daughter and her husband's farm in southern VA, I have had to find another veterinarian, but there will never be another Dr. Smith and his crew. If you live in their area, you are fortunate.. .

Recently my elderly cat became ill. I got an appointment with Dr. Berkowitz and brought in my cat. We had a discussion of symptoms. Blood work was done while I waited. The diagnosis was inline with my fears. The Dr. gave her a steroid shot and we went home and she promised to follow up in two days. When she called back, we made the decision to put the cat down. She immediately made an appointment with Dr. Miller, my regular vet. I arrived, Dr. Miller described the process and asked if I wished to watch. I declined. He was very kind and professional. After explaining that there was no fee for euthanasia, and a discussion about local cat shelters, I left. Powers Ferry is a wonderful animal hospital and your pets will receive the best care.

I've been going to PFAH since the mid-90s. True story: in 2011 I moved to Raleigh to take a job. The expertise of the PFAH family of doctors (Dr. Miller is a personal favorite) and the professionalism of the staff are so off the charts that I flew my dog back to Atlanta (in his Sherpa bag in the cabin with me of course - I would never fly a dog in the cargo hold) for his shots. Honestly? You won't find a better vet. I refuse to see anyone else for my pets. I was forced to put my dog of 14 years down, and Dr. Miller sat on the ground with us as we said goodbye to our Chevy. As my family and I cried over her, you could see him tearing up. He offered to get her paw print for us and handled our loss in an exceptionally kind and empathetic manner. When we asked about payment, he responded, "Nothing. We can make money other ways. It just wouldn't feel right to charge for something like this." A few weeks later, I received a letter in the mail notifying me that the hospital made a monetary donation to the UGA Veterinary School of Medicine in memoriam of our sweet Chevy. I cannot thank Powers Ferry Animal Hospital enough for their kindness.

As a pet owner totally GREEN to the English Mastiff breed, I fully trust Dr Wright with King Marley and Queen Karley until she was taken from us at Georgia Veterinarian Specialist. During one of the roughest times in my life, 7 new born puppies and no job, when the pups had issues, the staff was very accommodating and when Karley was killed, Dr. Wright knew that I wasn't at ease with the lost or why and had me to bring Karley's remains to her for autopsy where she found that GVS (Dr. Cobb) had NOT done their due diligence to save her before putting her down. Later, long after I'd started healing from the loss, I received a notice from UGA that Powers Ferry had made a donation to the Veterinarian School in memory of Queen Karley. I'd even recommend PFAH to my undeserving enemies. LOL. They are a true class act, compassionate and very knowledgeable.

She was to be put down because she could not control her bowels while in the home. Before taking this drastic action, we took Cassie to Powers Ferry Animal Hospital. She’s had stomach issues since birth and she vomits a couple days a month, totally randomly. No one has ever been able to figure it out. After our second visit to PFAH, their vets, Drs Miller and Wright completely solved this two year old illness and my dog has NEVER in her whole little life been this happy and this healthy. I am beside myself as I feel like my baby is finally able to live her life! She is finally showing her real personality! She’s gone from what used to be my “lazy, sleepy, sweet yet super tired puppy” to my “healthy, energetic, well behaved, playful and thirsty puppy!” She finally drinks water and plays and interacts and it seriously only took these vets two visits to figure it out. She got 10 of her toys out yesterday and played with them during the day and only took two naps!! I am absolutely eternally grateful to this practice and will forever bring my dog to only them.
