Couldn’t figure out what was wrong with my sweet dog Molly, but she wasn’t being herself. Brought her in to determine she was likely hit by a car. The staff was very friendly and Dr was super knowledgeable. They are transparent about pricing and took great care of my girl who had to spend the night there. Got phone calls with updates on her progress and luckily she never needed to go into surgery. I recommend this place if you really have an emergency and need your dog treated asap. They will treat your dog like their own! :)

I cannot emphasize enough how amazing this place is. The staff was extremely caring and considerate, especially Lynette and Dr. Amanda. They saved my baby’s life, and it’s because of them that I will have many happy years to come with him. Thank you so much to the staff for keeping me informed! We thought the pricing was very reasonable considering everything we had to get done. Hopefully we don’t ever need to come back, but this place is a MUST for any future emergencies. Thank you thank you thank you!

My go to for pet emergency treatment! On Christmas Eve a passerby threw several bags of various narcotics into my yard without my knowledge, which both of my dogs ingested. My older dog was fine after a few hours of monitoring, but my 6 month old puppy had eaten a lot more. We found him lifeless in the yard and rushed him to PET Emergency Treatment. We were there within 10 minutes of finding him, but he was barely alive. The doctors and staff worked on him tirelessly through the night and the entire next day and saved his life! They found he had ingested both methamphetamines and Fentanyl. He is lucky to be alive and it is all thanks to the wonderful workers at this clinic. Now, just days later, he is home with us and bouncing around the house, as if nothing ever happened. I cannot express enough gratitude to everyone working to this clinic for saving my baby's life. Not only were they professional and compassionate, but they cleanly love their jobs and care about the animals they treat. I will continue to bring my pets here as long as they'll have us!

Dr. Ashley Harmon and her team were amazing. While listening to me explain what was going on with my dog, she recognized symptoms correlating to a disease common in one of my dog’s breeds (she’s a mixed breed). Dr. Harmon recommended bloodwork, the results from which, she was able to guide me in the next course of action and forwarded the test results to my normal vet for further treatment/diagnosis. I wish I knew the vet tech’s name because she was also amazing, kind, and professional. I hope you don’t find yourself in need of emergency vet services, but if you do, PET will take care of those you love. ♥️

Dr. Riddle, Hilary and the front desk were awesome. My beagle Charlie had a blockage and needed emergency surgery. Tier 1 was over capacity because of a dog time being hit by a truck. The weather was terrible and so was the highway. I called Pet ER to let them know we were on our way. Very professional, but you could tell they were busy. Wee got there and checked in. The parking lot was full. After about 1 1/2 hours, I was briefed on what needed to be done. No pressure, just Charlie had to have this surgery, what to expect and what precautions to take. Dr Riddle called after surgery with the good news, blockage removed. Called later the next day and he’s awake and eating. If he eats dinner he can go home. He did. He’s a little dopy from the meds, but my Charlie is back. Thanks Pet ER.

This place is extremely busy every single day, they take on so much for the anchorage/ wasilla area. Even with a heavy and busy workload the staff remained so kind, polite, and calm. I honestly don’t know how they do it, phones ringing constantly, lobby full of worried pet parents, and the staff handles everything with grace and compassion. Can’t say enough good things, especially thankful to Abigail up front, she came up to me multiple times to check in on me and give me as many updates as she could on Frankie. 10/10 and give her a raise ; )

Incredibly caring and patient staff. Thank you PET emergency Treatment for helping Peanut in his last moments. You truly care and gave him the best care and comfort. We appreciate you all.
Rhiannon Adams
Even though they were very busy, we were taken in and triaged quickly. Everyone was friendly and respectful. We were updated multiple times and I was able to have all my questions answered in a timely fashion. Even though it took multiple attempts to splint my cat’s leg, I feel the vet didn’t stop short of doing the best she could. In fact, my cat has been doing better than we even expected. Every person I interacted with was pleasant, professional, and thorough.

The staff at Pet Emergency Treatment on Dowling rd are great at what they do . Dr Harman & staff are very compassionate , friendly and caring . I really appreciate that they stick with seeing animals (Our family Pets ) by severity. Do be prepared to wait ! unfortunately they are always busy . Thank you for being here For our pets . Pet Emergency treatment on Dowling here in Anchorage Alaska !!!!

After my sister’s dog had collapsed one morning we rushed him to the ER. It was roughly a 3 hour wait but once it was our turn they quickly rushed him to the back to get seen by the doctor. Unfortunately the doctor did not have the news we were hoping for and unfortunately we ended up having to put him down. The doctor was extremely patient, kind, understanding and informative. You can tell she was passionate in her career and took extreme care. Thank you everyone for your help during this hard time!
Brittany Dent-Watkins
Although the wait was long, they took excellent care of my cat, Arya. She is doing so much better and I’m very happy with the quality of care she received. The vet, vet tech, and receptionist were very kind and competent.
I wish the waiting room had been available, instead of waiting in my car, but I understand that construction was going on. Overall, my experience was positive and I will be back if ( God forbid) my cat’s health takes a turn for the worse.

While the staff is incredibly friendly, the system that they have in place is in need of revision. You are told that it is a 4-6 hour or 12 hour wait, and if you are not there when they call for you, you will be skipped and not helped. So the patient can wait 4-12 hours, yet you can't wait 5 minutes, or give the patient a heads up when they are next? You expect a pet to sit in a vehicle for that long? Seems incredibly wrong and lazy.
Edit: I am changing this review from a 1 to a 3 star review. My pet was seen and as I mentioned earlier, the staff here are super friendly. Discussed with the vet all treatment options and decided on a good course of action.

Dr Richards is wonderful! She immediately reassured us that things were going to be ok. She tells it like it is with kindness & caring. The staff is very kind & thoughtful. We took our pup in & we had to leave her over night. They called about 10:30 to tell us she was doing fine and treatment was going as expected. When we picked her up they said that she was a sweetheart even though she was noisy all night. Their care made a scary situation more tolerable. Thank you!

My wife and I were only in Alaska for 2 months when I found our 11 year old boxer completely lethargic with very little energy one afternoon. I brought him in to PET Emergency and they found he was bleeding internally from advanced cancer. We ended up making the extremly hard decision to put him down. The vets and technicians were extremely supportive, kind, and empathetic guiding us through our decisions. It spoke to me that they treated us so well as strangers and I am still grateful for their kindness.

Did more for my dog than the veterinary clinic he goes to. Wait times were harsh but solid work and crew. Would definitely go back for any pet emergency. They looked at ser real other issues besides the emergency. Could really tell the Veterinarian loves what she does and her love for animals.
AKMBeth907
Fist time at this Pet ER. They were packed with a long wait but my 16yr old chihuahua was in congenital heart failure collapsing and not getting oxygen and they got her right in. I didn't know what to expect and at one point was going to put her down but was so distraught I couldnt think. The vet gave me my options and was supportive but not pushy either way. I took the chance to try to save her. After two nights she was off oxygen and looking more like herself and now I have her home. I do not know how much longer I will have her but I am grateful for every day they were able to give me. They are expensive like anywhere else, but their attentive care and fast response has given us more time

I have been nothing short of pleased with the services at Pet ER. Treated well by staff and veterinarians are good. Info explained thoroughly & answer all questions. Always personable and professional.
Yes, things are slow, but that can't be helped. More business than vets available.
D White
They did a great job with anxious clients and patients. Long wait but worth it. Not sure if our cat will survive but we appreciate their honesty and help.
Delia Call
Front Desk Staff and Techs were very efficient, courteous, and attentive. Vet who saw my dog was diligent and thorough. Charges were reasonable and commiserate with any other clinic. Very satisfied.
Angi Harris
This was my second experience at pet emergency, and both times has been amazing. The veterinarians and the staff are so friendly and caring. Both experiences have made me feel comfortable, and they care so much about my pets.
Hannah Hooven
Very kind staff. Long wait, but it's not their fault. However, you do have to sit in your car. You might as well go home and come back later because they'll quote you a time and it will probably take longer as critical care patients can come in at any point. Despite the craziness they go through, the staff are still very compassionate people.
I will say though, they didn't do much of a workup on my cat. Just over a week later, we found out (after an extensive work-up at a different clinic) that he has pneumonia and needed systemic antibiotics! I'm a bit frustrated because I told the staff here that he had a cough off and on but they didn't think it was relevant. They knew he had a bit of a fever as well, but they didn't think it was a big deal.

My dog is old and she's having some issues. I was thankful my veterinarian recommended PET Emergency Treatment for an ultrasound. The customer service was relaxed and helpful. I was happy to hear that my dog doesn't have liver issues when I picked her up, so now I'm waiting on the blood tests. I hoping everything goes well, but I can say that I'm happy with the doctor and staff at PET Emergency Treatment. I recommend arriving first thing in the morning to drop off your pet because there was no one here at 8AM.

My cat came down with pneumonia and needed a 24hr stay. Midnight Sun transfered him over to PET Emergency. The team at PET Emergency was able to provide the care he needed. Listen, these guys are busy. This is the only Emergency pet clinic in Anchorage that runs 24/7. Allthough I feel like the communication might of been a bit better, I absolutely respect the staff and doctors that keep this place running. It's obvious how hard they are working to give much needed care to our beloved 4 leggers.
I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who works at this facility. They were able to get my baby back to feeling better and he is now on the mend.
Thank you PET ER!! ❤

This Emergency Clinic is doing everything they can to help every pet they can. Just like many buisnesses these days they may be short staffed, that is not there fault and they are trying. They are the only 24/7 ER Vet clinic in Alaska! So sometimes emergencies come up that are already inside that we may not see, and this can increase the wait time.
If they closed like some of the reviews recommend due to short staff, we would have no where to take our sick pets at night during the week.
It is hard for everyone right now and they are trying their best to make sure everyone and every pet is taken care of.
Be patient be kind, because you really don't know what they are going through as the only 24/7 ER for pets.

I want to start this review off by saying I'm sorry to all Pet ER places that I have had bad thoughts about after sitting in PET ER last night and seeing just how busy it is and how emotionally draining this job is. I can only say thank you for everything.
I appreciate this team here at PET ER so much they helped my Biggie and I feel so much more confident knowing he is being treated by the doctor here at PET ER

This is an Emergency Service, so my cat's ear infection was low priority, but we were seen within 4 hours, which was sooner than I was expecting! The waiting room was very clean given that it is winter and an animal hospital; a dog was so happy to see his people after being there a few days he peed and a member of staff came to mop up the puddle right away! Price was also quite reasonable.

Ms Pheobe had an obstruction, and by God’s good grace we were able to get her the surgery she needed. The whole staff was kind, understanding, and helpful even though it was a bit of a tough situation (for many reasons). Thank you so much for helping Pheebs!
Cryptic Illusion
Absolutely wonderful. Took me in almost right away and helped treat my poor kitty lula. Helped me stay in my budget range and helped me understand everything I needed to know. Best place ever will be recommending. Nice ladies at the desk♡

Such a caring group of doctors, technicians and support staff. They nursed my Kelsie back to health and I knew that she was in the best hands. I am eternally grateful for the loving and outstanding care they provided. ❤️

We came in on Aug 17/18 around 11:00 pm to have our furbaby put to sleep.
The crew was very caring and helpful. The dog was even okay. But she came in and didn't hesitate and started to do the medication. She says to us that she was putting Sadie in a coma. We understood that. But then she says iok now I am overdosing her. I personally don't think that those words should have been used. Especially to greiving people.. I sure hope they change that part. I will never forget that. Other than that it was good as expected. Thank you for everything. ❤️

Awesome place to take you dog. I was totally impressed with the kindness of the staff, the new clean facility and of course the care my dog received. Highly recommend!!

The staff were very kind and professional and took good care of my dog. This was my second visit in several years and the first visit was also good.

I have been taking my dogs to pet emergency for over 3 years now and seeing Dr. Walton and his staff Emily and Naomi in the internal medicine care are wonderful. They go above and beyond the call of duty to help my dogs and to help me. Dr Walton is so good in helping getting them their medicine or watching them all day to see their behavior. If I have to leave Darla there, his staff takes turns holding her the whole time she is there she has separation anxiouty. I just know my 2 dogs are in very caring hands and they all are just the nicest people. My Darla probably wouldn't be a live today if it wasn't for Dr Walton and his staff.

I appreciate these guys taking part of the load from Midnight Sun Animal Hospital! Unfortunately I had to bring my cat here, pretty sure he was having an allergic reaction, didn't find out exactly what was wrong, but he got better a couple days after his visit. I also appreciate that the vet was honest with me, when she told me that she doesn't normally work with cats! Thanks for all you guys do, we appreciate you!

These people are awesome! I'm currently dealing with some serious health issues with my old dog, and they have been very sweet and considerate. The wait times are tough when you worried about your fur-baby, but between covid and other Vet's months out for appointments I appreciate their dedication to dealing with all pets issues as soon as they can in order of severity and arrival. THANK YOU! They are also great with sharing information with our soon to be regular vet - the docs and the front desk staff have been seriously sweet!

They got our dog and My husband and I in very quickly since our dog was struggling to breathe. The staff were kind and caring towards our dog and my husband and myself. The vet shared the results of the tests and was realistic with the outcomes for all our treatment options. In the end we had to say goodbye to our 14 year old pup, a large tumor that had spread to other organs. The staff handles his passing with grace and were very respectful.

I took my dog in 2 days ago. The staff were so compassionate and sweet. They quickly took my dog through and began to care for her. I was allowed to visit her for a while. The vet, Dr Richardson, explained everything to me very clearly and truly worked quickly and efficiently to save my dog. She called me every step of the way to keep me updated. We both received the best care and my dog is safely home and doing well. I cannot thank everyone there enough for the kindness and care they showed both of us. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

My dog had what I thought might have been a stroke, ended up being a seizure. Our regular vet couldn’t see him right away so went to Pet Emergency. He was quickly seen. Care seemed good. Saw the vet about a half hour after they took my dog in back for evaluation. They couldn’t give definitive answers without more tests. I opted not to as my dog is pretty old and I just wanted him comfortable and pain free. Basically was advised to just monitor as he was doing okay by the time the vet evaluated him.

This is the second time I have had to take my young dog to this animal hospital and both times I had a great experience! Everyone was helpful, professional, and kind. They are thorough in their evaluation of my pet's issue, up front with treatment options and cost. I love that I can complete an online form before I'm on my way so I'm not trying to do paperwork with my pet in the waiting room. This is my go-to place when my pet is in distress!
Becca Bennett
Staff and the doctor we're fantastic! Doctor was very thorough with explaining what was going on and giving me options of what to do. They fixed my dog up and quickly discharged us. Squeezed my dog in in between surgeries and more emergent patients and I really appreciated that!! Thank you everyone who was working around 7pm on 3/9!

While I did find it a bit pricey, the staff was extremely polite and courteous. They did an amazing job of caring for my puppy. Even though they were very busy they took care of my dog with a quickness and kindness that made me feel like they genuinely cared for his wellbeing and safety. In my opinion their quality of service is unmatched in the city of Anchorage.
Karyssa Power
They were really polite, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. I appreciated how everything was explained by the staff as they guided me through the process. I was given a lot of information and options to help find the next steps for me to take in caring for my Daisy girl. The receptions, vet tech (I'm assuming is her title, but didn't really ask), and the vet were all really helpful and sweet. Just good people all around.
Teresa Hickok
The staff here were absolutely incredible! You are never seeking emergency care on a good day, and they were incredibly sensitive to that. Beyond their compassion toward my pet and myself, they were very tactful discussing the financial options. They were fabulous at keeping me informed of changes and updates. They also let me know of potential future concerns and possible treatment options. I wish I had had the presence of mind to pay attention when the staff introduced themselves so I could recognize them individually. Highly recommend these folks!

I took my dog in with porcupine quills to her nose, and everyone at Pet ER was exceptionally kind, efficient, and professional. I am very grateful we have such a great ER for times like these. My dog required special treatment due to a weird resistance to sedation, and they took that into account, then kept me informed as I waited for her to finally be sedated enough for removal of quills. I watched the caring way they interacted with every other pet owner there, and was impressed at how helpful they were in calming, reassuring, and treating everyone, people and pets alike. They were also respectful of each other, working supportively as a team to make everything go as smoothly as possible in an ER. The receptionists, techs and vets set the standard for outstanding performance no matter how busy and challenging the work. Thank you, Pet ER!
Kathleen Kowalczuk
The vets and staff at Pet Emergency were patient and kind when taking care of our very sick dog. We never felt hurried or rushed when they were giving treatment or instructions. We really appreciate the care our dog received.
Unlike their direct competition that rushes through every visit/communication, Pet Emergency vets and staff take the time to really take care of your pet.
Thank you!

Can’t express how thankful I am for this vet clinic. My younger dog ended up getting into the medicine cabinet and eating ALL of my older dogs rimadyl (beef flavor). To sum things up, she had to stay in the ER for a full week to get her kidneys flushed and many other things. EVERYONE at this clinic was amazing!! And took my feelings into considerations and my dogs. Everyday they called with updates. They gave me options that wouldn’t break my bank and worked with me. Of course, I also called a lot and they never made me feel like I couldn’t call. They even asked if I could bring something from home (blanket, toy, food) to comfort my dog. This place is busy and short handed but they saved my dogs life.
Chuck Coffin (TheronChandrel)
Front desk staff great. Vet was clear and concise about what my pet needed, communicated the plan plainly to me, and was very knowledgeable. Was provided an estimate before service, and services fell within that estimate when service was complete. Staff were great with my pet. Will be my go-to, if I ever have another emergency. Thanks everyone at PET.
Edit: Thanks to puppies being puppies, visits 2 and 3 also great experiences for care. Do be advised, it is order of severity that pets are seen! Your dog with a lame leg but no visible injury may wait a couple hours behind pets that arrive after you for more serious issues!

I can do nothing but tell people how amazing the staff and doctor was to my baby Princess I had to drive up from Seward to get my dog looked at afraid that she may be going into kidney failure due to grapes they took her right back and check her out right away the nurses and the front desk lady was amazing so sweet to my dog and me I was so scared but everyone did such a good job at explaining things to me because of them my little fur baby is living and okay I’m so grateful to this place they were truly a blessing to my family and I thank you so much .

Update to this review: thank you to all of the amazing vet techs and daytime vet Dr. Taylor who really went above and beyond to help Briza and keep her alive and well. The office manager was really kind and listened to all of my concerns and made me feel heard. Lastly, thank you to the front office staff for taking a million of my calls and to Dr. Richardson for being an amazing doctor. I have updated my 1/5 to 5/5 regarding these amazing people. The 1/5 is for the first vet. So the 3/5 meets in the middle.
Being educated on airway management and how to maintain one is not being a bully. Calling someone out for decisions that I specifically asked to not be made without having discussions with me is not being a bully. Advocating for my dogs health and well being is not being a bully.
In no way shape or form should any medical professional, whether that be myself as a nurse practitioner or a vet as a doctor to pets, sit in a room with a very sick dogs family members and act as callous as this vet did. Calling someone out for having a bad bedside manner is a reality check, not being a bully.
Being a bully is defined as “seeking to harm or intimidate someone who is vulnerable.”
In the instance of my sick dog, I am advocating. It doesn’t meet the requirements of bullying and I left the exam room and went home as to not say anything inappropriate or rude which would have been actual bullying. I have no respect for this establishment and none for this Vet. My dog is very sick and poor medical decisions were made and I am fully aware of each bad decision and the implications for her survival.
Judging from other reviews on BBB and this site, I suspect a lot of people are upset with this organization and tolerate it because it’s the only one open 24/7 which to them probably gives them the “right,” or in my opinion, the audacity, to treat people the way they do.

My experience was great. My pup was sick early morning and would not move a muscle all day. I was on a waiting list at another clinic and never received a call, so at 7pm, I followed up and they said they were not taking in anymore for the night, due to labor shortage and increase in high priority pups (which I understand). I just did not like that I was not informed of their policy when I called initially, and the web said they are 24hrs. I had to find out after the fact they were not. I called about 5 other clinics without any luck. I finally called Pet Emergency and I wish I called them first! They were available and outlined their process clearly and considered my pups situation and was very flexible. My pup had a bruise and was prescribed meds and was fine the next day. I recommend them and the staff was great to work with as well!

It took 2 nights of waiting to see a Doctor but our dog was diagnosed and then surgery has been performed. I'm grateful for that.

This is our little man Scrappy who received top-tier service from this clinic. He suffered a traumatic brain injury while playing with our 80-lb dog, and the brain injury turned into aspiration pneumonia. Scrappy spent 4 days in the clinic’s care, and thanks to the vet techs and vets, will make a full recovery. We can’t thank all of the staff enough for taking such thorough care of our baby and answering our endless questions!
Amy Dalton
Our dog had major surgery recently and the Pet ER team provided excellent care for our little cattle dog. The communications were outstanding - they encouraged us to call with any questions and information regarding the status of our pup. We felt like we were in capable hands through a protracted health crisis.

After first stopping at the better known emergency veterinary emergency hospital and both finding the parking lot full at close to midnight, I was faced with the decision to go home or try a lesser known emergency hospital I had seen on the previous day while coming back from an errand. I decided on the latter and drove there. It was PET Emergency Treatment. I found the lights on, a sign saying open, an unlocked door and friendly and helpful staff to greet me . There were others before me with their pet emergencies, so I waited in the car with my dog for about 45 minutes until an attendant came out for us. Once inside we were promptly seen by the Doctor who was caring, kind and knowledgeable. She spent as much time with us as we needed, no hurried encounter. We left with a calmed dog, a resolution of our issue, the answer to many questions and a prescription. I’m very pleased with the service and I would go there again!

First of all this is a crazy busy place! The staff front desk and medical staff do the best they can! Be patient and kind! Fortunately, their order of services is based off the patient severity. I waited to get in for four hours the day before. At that point it was not a life/death situation. I was transferred from a clinic the following day back to the Pet ER for an emergency surgery. My 2 yr. old male had bladder/urethra stones making him unable to pee. The type of surgery needed was very involved and there are only a few surgeons in Anchorage able to provide it. Fortunately, the Pet ER had one of these surgeons coming on in two hours. Dr. Diederich is one of those amazing surgeons. She was able to make my pet comfortable until she was able to take him to surgery several hours later. Surgery was very successful and he is recovering well. Dr. Diederich followed up to ensure he was doing well and also with a complete (17 page) medical summary! These folks are amazing! They are just super short staffed for the volume of incoming ER patients, so please be patient while those with life threatening illnesses or injuries are severed first.

I have a Siberian Husky mix and a Malamute mix. Both are mischievous and seem to find trouble (porcupines and sticks) no matter how close they are to the house- I have 7 acres but keep the dogs in the “yard”. The staff at Pet Emergency are fantastic! Quills have been removed from curious noses and one vet worked a pair of hemostats like a boss, removing a stick my dog had lodged in his throat. While I hope to never have to visit Pet Emergency again, I rest well at night knowing their friendly, highly skilled team are there if my enthusiastic dogs need them.
OMGitsSTORKY
The entire team from the receptionists, the TA's, the technicians, hospital managers, and of course, the doctors have made this entire cross over to the rainbow bridge as easy as it can possibly be. The compassion from the entire staff is felt through the entire process of letting our fur babies go. Jackie Chan and I are sending all of our love for everything that you have done for us while he was in your care ❤️

Had to take our 17 year old Chihuahua in to be put to sleep after a stroke. Have been in many times with different pets over the years. This time they were not busy as they usually are and got him right in. There are only so many people that work there so long wait times are to be expected, they can’t see every animal at once and give the attention their humans need during difficult situations. Front desk girl was super nice and sympathetic and took an extra amount of her time with us while we made a decision.
Keara Noel
Dr. Walton and the rest of the Internal Medicine staff are just wonderful! Our kitty, Tonix, has kidney failure and when we first began seeing Dr. Walton she was very ill. We were worried that Tonix would not make it through summer 2019 but with Dr. Walton's knowledge and are dedication to Tonix she is still with us today … a whole year after being diagnosed with end stage kidney disease. We are unclear how much time we have left with her but every day is a blessing and she would not be doing nearly as well without the Internal Medicine staff. I am very grateful for the care and support the staff has shown to Tonix and us and for teaching me tricks on how to keep her happy with a terminal illness. The front desk ladies have always been so nice and have always asked us about how Tonix is doing when we show up to see Dr. Walton or when we are just picking up medication. The kindness is very much appreciated as dealing with a terminal sick kitty is emotionally rough.

We had to take our dog in because his allergies were really bothering him and we couldn’t wait another 2 weeks for his regular vet appointment. I believe the visit was 2 hours total which wasn’t bad considering that he wasn’t going through anything life threatening, I was ready to wait longer. It did seem like a pretty slow night for them so keep that in mind for future visits. The staff there was really nice and he got the treatment he needed and we went on our way. Definitely more expensive than a regular vet visit so be prepared for that when you bring your pet in. Overall we were pleased with the experience, waiting wasn’t too bad since we could sit in the car and wait for them to call us.

I was so grateful for the way they handled cremating our sweet Sarah. She died on a weekend and they were open and ready to receive her, offering us a room if we needed to say any further goodbyes. In the craziness of losing one of my best friends, I didn't realize that the clay keepsake they offered was not just any paw print. It was hers. It means so much to me. They even sent us a hand signed sympathy card. We never had the need to see P.E.T. during her living years since she was seen on base and was healthy until she turned 21. But I can speak on behalf of our experience. The empathy and care we received was worth writing this review for. It feels worth mentioning that the price for her cremation was better than I anticipated and came with a mil. discount. Which is pretty helpful since we cannot simply bury our pets and be able to return to that spot. (The urn is included in my picture is not the one typically supplied. It is one we bought online when we knew it was near the end of her days.) We appreciate the genuine sympathy and support we received from P.E.T. Thank you for helping us bring our baby home the only way we could.

Pet emergency was efficient with my puppy’s vaccinations (she needed them immediately after adoption) and, later, when she had irritation (erupting stitches) at her spay site. They are honest about wait times and courteous and patient on the phone. The staff is incredibly sweet and loving to my little gal and clearly they care about their dog and human clients deeply. Maybe 8 years ago we had to say goodbye to one of our old dogs and my dad still has only kind things to say about the staff there and how they helped our old dog and us through that process. I was (and am) very pleased with the service and trust them to do what is best for their clients with a caring touch.

After I had a very bad experience with the other ER VET I chose to take the dogs to the PET ER and I wish I could have taken my puppy there instead! I took my my two dogs there last night after my puppy passed away the same morning because of a virus. Of course I wasn’t emotional strong and very worried about my 2 other dogs and their diagnoses. The vet techs and vet we’re super super nice to me and treated my dogs so good! I wasn’t worried about them being in there without me at all! They took their time with them, they answered every single question I had and even the vet stayed on the phone with me for 30 min explaining everything I need and wanted to know! 5 stars for sure and I will be forever thankful for them being so nice and sweet to me and my fur kids!!!

Thank you to all The staff. When I picked up my little Mia I know that she got the best care in all areas. We were delighted to see her improvement of eating as soon as we got home with wet food. We then proceeded to give her water which she did not want. Upon later in the evening she was more active she was able to move her bowels and in the morning she ate dry food with out hesitation and drank plenty of water all on her own. We will continue to do a follow up appointment and keep on moving forward with our precious baby. She’s happy as can be and purrs with all the love and attention we give her. We appreciate all of the hard work and full potential all of you have given. We appreciate all the kindness and compassion shown in all efforts.
Thank you!!!
Sincerely,
Sandra Ramsay and Tiffany Powers

I would have given PET a 5 if not for the absurd wait times that have been normal since I adopted our blockhead. The doc was great and the staff made our girl feel comfortable while taking care of her kennel cough. We did have to wait 3 hrs (actual) to be seen, which I understand can be a result of emergency situations coming in, although that is still a long time to burn fuel in the parking lot at 5 degrees. All in all I would come back because they treated our pup well and I don't really have an alternative due to lack of competition for emergency vet services.

Our little dog got hurt by being run over by her big sister! We took her to pet emergency and all we can say is they are awesome, we’ve been there before with another pet, they are very through. The only thing would be the length of the wait. You could be there for several hours, many people go there for their pets and the time spent waiting can rather long.

Incredibly compassionate humans here. My three year old cat had kidney failure and they were amazing.
Stephanie Miller
From the receptionist to the vet tech to Dr. Richardson - everyone was amazing! The vet tech quickly got a thorough history and physical of my pup and even gave some quick tips during the discussion. Dr. Richardson was able to take the information provided to the tech to understand my pups situation and quickly came up with a comprehensive treatment plan! It was a collaborative encounter that resulted in the best treatment for my pup. I really appreciate you all!

The folks here are great. We have been helping a friend through an extremely difficult time with her dog. The diagnosis has been very hard to pinpoint and the need to see a doctor happened after hours. Thank goodness we have several emergency options in town, but this one is 24 hours and takes care of the needs of a good part of our city.
With staff shortages, all of the clinics in town have had to cut hours and limit appointments…even with added overtime for all staffers…so this location is trying to pick up filling that void as well.
They took great care of Lily. They monitored her progress around the clock and kept our friend informed constantly. Niki sent pictures and updates, and the doctors communicated frequently. In a way, being there was like having a second and third opinion built in, because their doctors work in shifts. That allowed for a lot of different knowledge and treatment styles to come together to chart the clinical path.
With Covid their lobby is closed, but because of the critical nature of her issues, they did allow what I thought was generous visitation time. They were thorough and patient with questions and explanations and they spoiled her with pets and love.
Lily is doing a bit better day by day but we are certain we would have lost her if it weren’t for the team here.
As I said in another review I wrote for Ravenwood Veterinary, it is worth considering pet insurance if you have that ability. These procedures take the same time, tools, materials and staffing level as those for humans and yet cost so much less. Still, when you haven’t planned for it the situation can be made worse. I am considering it for my cats right now. They have information there, check in with them if you have questions.
Also, the plasma shortage leaves the clinic needing to ration at times. I found out that sometimes it is possible for healthy large breed dogs to donate. Ask your vet about that opportunity as well.

Our Berner puppy Hazel came in vomiting and very sick. She is on the mend.
The best part of the experience was the tech on duty got that while our baby is a big girl she is ultimately a lap puppy who needed to be held when getting fluids. Thank you for letting our big furry puppy sit on you while you were helping her.

I have been here a few times (unfortunately). I only say that because Pet Emergency usually does not mean a good thing. The vets/techs and people behind the doors have always been knowledgeable and the front desk is helpful and kind, even considering the demands they are under to get folks and their animals taken care of in a timely matter. The wait is long and usually costly but there are not many other options when you need the immediate care for your animal. At this visit my dog ended up needing a scope procedure to retrieve a foreign object from her stomach. I was THRILLED that the technique worked and surgery was not necessary. I spoke with my regular vet and they did not have the scope equipment to even be able to attempt the job so I was glad I went to Pet ER. It was over $2k to have the procedure but I am hopeful that my pet insurance will help alleviate the cost. I, of course, was very happy with the outcome and that my girl is going to be okay. I always pray for the people in the parking lot and the animals inside when I drive by! It is a tough place to be but I am thankful that there are people out there to do the hard work of helping our beloved friends (pets).

The staff at PET Emergency Treatment were so friendly and helpful! Dr. Riddle saved our dog from a twisted gut with an emergency surgery in the middle of the night. He kept us in the loop every step of the way! We are so grateful that he and the technicians were available overnight to help our dog, as his condition could not have waited until the morning. I can’t recommend them enough and am so happy to have a 24-hour animal hospital in Alaska.

Have been here a few times in the last few months (we tend to adopt dogs with chronic health issues apparently) and every time have been treated with such kindness, compassion, and absolute thoroughness.
If your animal isn't critically ill, chances are you're in for a long wait. Fill your gas tank, bring snacks and a blanket - it's winter in Alaska. The reason for the wait is because these people are doing their most and best to help the animals currently depending on them. They care, which is rare to find. I always think about how I'm blessed to be able to wait, that we're not in a life or death situation. They assess stability when checking the animal in, so if it is an emergency - they'll get you in!
Each time, we left knowing exactly what was wrong AND a game plan. I couldn't ever thank them enough for the consistent, amazing service.

Took our pup in after having a scare. Waited 5 hours to get in (they are the only 24 hour pet ER in Anchorage at the moment) and almost made it before a serious emergency came in. They were nice and said they would call us when the vet would be available so we didn’t have to spend the night in the parking lot. Got our pup in at 5 am and the vet and techs were great. Got her all checked out and received several options of treatment. We were also told to bring her back immediately if she got worse or just wasn’t getting better at all. All things considered I really recommend this place for after hour vet emergencies

I cannot thank the PET Hospital in anchorage enough! My puppy fin was showing signs of bloat early morning on the 25th. We rushed him in with the thought that we would have to put him to sleep. The same thing happened to his pup last summer and we were told when torsion happens their chance of life is as low as 30%. When we got there they took him in right away and got to work. The front desk lady Elizabeth was wonderful, she was able to get care credit to go through for us when it wasn’t working on our phones. We wouldn’t have been able to afford the 3,000 dollar surgery not to mention the aftercare involved. They were confident that the surgery was going to work and assessed him with an 80% chance of it working. After he was in the clear they stayed with him and sent us pictures and updates daily. When we called about twelve times a day they kept their patience and were very kind to us. We went to pick him up today and the nurses came out with him and were very kind and gentle with him. They explained the aftercare to a T and answered the multitude of questions and possible scary outcomes of the at home care system. They will continue to follow up and we will take him in for his checkups and appointments following up. I honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more. I am so grateful and wish the best to all of their amazing life saving employees. ❤️

Brought our 9 week old puppy in at 5:00am. They rushed us right to a room and assessed her condition. She was lethargic and laboring to breath. She was in anaphylactic shock. They stabilized her quickly and checked vitals every 20 minutes until they were sure the medication was working and she was okay to go home. They were busy as could be, phone ringing off the hook, emergencies pouring in the doors, but kept their composure and were polite and so helpful. We were there for several hours, but we are taking home our puppy….. alive, so well worth the wait. Hats off to these folks! They deserve respect given the amount of stress that runs through this clinic on a daily basis. So grateful for them. This is the only 24/7 clinic around…. Be sure to show them some ❤️!

I have taken my pets here when I cannot get in to my vet and their staff is very caring and professional. During these times with Covid it is very hard to get pets seen everywhere, so be prepared for a wait time, in your car, in the parking lot so you do not loose your place. I appreciated that they assessed my Zoe as soon as I checked in to determine that she was stable and okay to wait. They will put emergencies ahead of you and that is understandable and I certainly agree with it. I waited 6 hours, but for me, I will do whatever it takes to help my fur babies. Thank you to the staff for all you do for all the animals.

My little Guinea pig had a lump and I was so worried and other vets weren’t able to get her in soon enough so my boyfriend and I made it as fast as we could here and I can not complain at all. The staff was super nice and very helpful and even though the wait seemed a little long at times, it was all very worth it. It’s hard enough finding a vet in anchorage that takes small animals, but this vet went above and beyond. She stayed 3 hours past her shift to make sure my little piggy was going to be ok and she even helped drain the abscess free of charge because of how much she cared. The vet tech was also so kind and helped us understand exactly what to do with all the meds and told us which vets would most likely be willing to help us with further surgery. I am so glad we went to this vet and people actually cared about my little Guinea pig.

Woke up panicked as my cat had thrown up blood! Rushed him to PET Emergency and they treated me with so much kindness as well as my kitten, Koda. The vet gave me great advice and didn’t try to force me to do this or that. So far my cat is doing so much better and I would like to thank all the staff for what they do while you may be very worried about your furry friend. I hope i do not have to return, in the best way, but it will be my first choice if I ever need to get one of my animals checked out!

We went to pet emergency treatment last Friday with our 8 week old puppy. He tested positive for parvo and from the time they took him in and the time we got him back they were on top of his treatment plan, they all kept a close eye on him and did everything they possibly could to help our little guy fight it. Thankfully our miracle puppy made it and we picked him up today. I honestly don’t even know where to begin to describe how grateful I am for everyone who works here. The wonderful ladies at the front desk never got annoyed with how much I called, they were always super sweet and telling us they were rooting for him. The techs took amazing care of him, they played with him, loved on him, spent time to try and get him to eat on his own, and made sure he was getting everything he needed. The doctors really personalized his care, they made things happen when he started going down and really made sure he was getting the proper nutrients he needed. The most amazing thing about all of these people is that they were all treating snickers as if he were their own puppy, they were all sad when he started going down, they were all happy when he came back up and everyone was ecstatic when he got to come home. No one ever comes here on a good day and these amazing people definitely understand that.

I've been to Pet Emergency before when I had to say good bye to my best friend. Pet Emergency made it easier and when I went to pick up his ashes, they included a clay molding with his name and paw print. I can't thank these folks enough for helping me through a difficult time. So naturally anytime I have a pet emergency, I know who I can rely on for help.

I had an appointment for my cat for an ultrasound with Dr. Walton. He discovered my cat’s problem and explained it well. He answered all my questions and was wonderful to deal with. His techs and assistants were all so kind. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Walton. He is a very good vet and his staff were wonderful to my grouchy cat. I feel lucky indeed to have my cat cared for by Dr. Walton and his team!

Thank you for taking such good care of my little man, Brooks. He was attacked and bitten by a large dog. He’s healing now today because of your compassionate care, praise God. I appreciate you. Thank you for all that you do.

We had to take our dog in late last night after a cyst on her back burst. Tier One was closed when it happened and Midnight Sun told us they were incredibly busy and to try to take her to one of the other emergency vets. After reading the reviews, we were honestly scared to take her here. But, we were pleasantly surprised! We waited about an hour and a half to be seen and our appointment itself took maybe 30 minutes (so 2 hours all together). This was actually very quick compared to how long we’ve waited at Tier One before! Everyone on staff was incredibly kind and helpful. We had no issues whatsoever. I’m really glad we made the choice to take our dog here, I would go back if there ever was another emergency! (We did go on a slow time - so this likely affected our wait time. All emergency vets tend to be long waits on weekends).
All in all the visit ended up costing $280 which is about what I expected going to an emergency vet.
Siobhan Patterson
If you come here definitely be prepared to wait. I was there for 5 hours before my dog was seen because it’s a first come first serve basis but if there’s an emergency they will treat that pet first. That being said I gave 5 stars because all of the staff were incredible and they aren’t the reason behind the wait time. The receptionists were super patient and friendly with me every time I asked where I was on the waiting list. The vet tech was also really nice and she was great with my dog, Maggie. The vet, Dr. Harmon was also great with Maggie. Usually I feel pressured to spend as much money as possible and I always feel like the vet is in a rush to get me out of the office but Dr. Harmon talked me through different options so I didn’t feel like I needed to spend so much money. She also listened to and answered all my questions. Overall the staff here were really professional and I will go back if Maggie needs to see a vet quickly (as in that day bc the wait will still be long lol)
Angela Carpenter
The staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. They were thorough in his exam and gave me all the information I needed to make an informed decision about his treatment. They were up front about pricing so there were no surprises at checkout. My only complaint was the wait time. I understand it is an emergency animal hospital but we spent about 7.5 hours total there, it was almost 5 hours before we were even taken back.
Danielle Cooper
Our Bogie had to have a tumor removed from his mouth which include a piece of jaw bone. The surgeon was a traveling specialist so he doesn’t necessarily work for this office. But all the assistants and office staff were great. They took great care of our pup through surgery prep and recovery. They cleaned all blood out of his fur then apologized when he got blood on himself again right before I picked him up. They continually commented on how cute he was and how good of about he was. Not to mention they squeezed us in within a day. Great pet er!
Kelvin Sonnekson
I gave it 3 stars because the Dr. And staff are friendly but wait time is horrible. We waited 4 hours till my dog Charlie got seen and treated. I really do hope that you will find a solution for the longer wait times. It’s unfortunate that this is the only Pet ER that’s open 24/7. I’m still thankful that my dog is feeling better now after the treatment.
Olivia Pepin
They expect you to wait in the parking lot for hours to have your pet seen. After waiting for 4.5 hours in the parking lot I asked to be called at home when we were next in line and was told no you have to wait in the parking lot. So I went to Midnight Sun pet emergency and was told that they would call me to come back when it was my turn. If I had stayed and waited at Pet Emergency I would have been sitting there for a 6 and a half hours. Totally rediculous expectation of the clinic. My dog did go there for overnight care. I was told my dog was ready to go home so I went over and still had to wait 1 and a half hours to pick her up.
Ron E
My rating is for service rendered. The doctor and staff are everything you could hope for.
The 10 hour wait to get in... well what other choice do you have when your loved pet is ill and it's weeks to get into your veterinary.
The nature of an ER hospital is unpredictable. That said, there should be a better system that would have allowed my pet to be at home. I live 7 minutes at worst from the hospital. My pet and I could have waited for 8 hours at home and still spent 2 more hours in the parking lot to be ready.
Maybe it can't be helped. We're going into winter and my guess is this coming year, maybe always, will be even more difficult to mange.
Charlie Morse
We came to Pet ER on Friday night after being turfed by another 24 hour clinic in town that didn’t even look at my dog and just told us he didn’t sound critical and could wait until tomorrow.
The staff initially quoted us two hours, but had us in a room and being looked at within 30-45 minutes.
The doc on duty took a look at our Beau and gave us her gut prior to performing x-rays which confirmed. After that, she was understanding and accommodating as we made the difficult decision to say goodbye to our old man.
Throughout, the staff was kind and courteous, and interrupted our grief as little as possible for the business part.
The doc came back, explained everything, then very kindly helped us send Beau over the rainbow bridge. Afterward, we were afforded all the time we needed to grieve and say our final goodbyes.
The doc was reassuring and took the time to let us know we’d made the right decision based off the conditions that presented.
When we were ready, the staff came in and very carefully removed Beau as we once more said our goodbyes.
This was by far one of the worst experiences of my life, but they made it just a little more bearable by taking the best care of both Beau and his humans.
I’ll never be able to thank you all enough for the kindness you showed us.

I am a single mom on unemployment. Making the call to take a cat into the vet, knowing emergency care is costly was a hard decision that this clinic did not make me regret.
My kitty took ill, I tried several of my usual places but there was no availability. This was my last resort.
The staff was kind and supportive, my cat hates the car, but fortunately he didn’t have to wait long. Front reception was gentle and supportive. The DVM got back to me in a reasonable time frame and discussed options for his care. My heart dropped when I heard the costs, but they worked with me to help me find something that would help him and assist my finances. I was able to get him reasonable care and antibiotics. He’s home and doing much better in 24 hours. I’m still awaiting diagnosis, but he has already improved thanks to this clinic and their supportive care. Thank you you kind folk. I’m very satisfied.
Samantha Krasnansky
Upon arrival the staff was great, they took my baby in and called within 10-15 minutes to let me know what needed to be done and the cost. I said yes, let’s proceed. The tech that called said ok, we will call you with an update once we do the X-rays. After an hour I called to check on him. I sat on hold for 30 minutes to speck to someone as they were slammed. Once I talked to some one I found out they had not even started on my animal because they required a deposit which they neglected to tell me or call to see if we were going to put one down since their lobby is closed. The communication with the tech and receptionist was beyond terrible. Once I paid my deposit they got right to helping my baby and the doctor was amazing. Great communication and answered all of my questions. I would recommend them but be aware they require a deposit to be paid before helping your animal that they may not speak up about. If we knew we would have paid a upon arrival. I’m just glad it was not a life or death situation for my furbaby because he was inside for an hour and a half. That amount of time can changed things in a bad situation.
Margie Masangcay
Great place to take your pet if your regular vet can’t see your pet on the same day for urgent cases. It’s clean. The doctor and the assistant was pleasant and nice. They really explained what they’re going to do.
One of the receptionist wasn’t as nice or accommodating. That’s one of the reason why I gave them 4 stars and it was a very long wait. Before they see you and after they see to get your bill. Although they did say the dr has an emergency case. I asked if we could just pay online, to just send us a link or something, they said no. My husband still needed to go to work, and I missed work. We were there for almost 6-6.5 hrs total.
I would still take my dog there if I have to. Just hope it won’t take that long again.

After seeing the news report yesterday on
the critical shortage of veterinarians, I realized that I needed to write an overdue review.
I suspected my rottweiler ingested a foreign body, and after being told "we are too busy" by my veterinarian and others, I drove from Anchor Point to Anchorage for care. So to those of you whining about your wait time, add four hours times two for travel time.
At this point I will state that I was a veterinary technician for 25+ years. I worked at a emergency hospital for about five minutes because it is emotionally overwhelming.
The nighttime receptionist was beyond
kind, the technician and Dr.Riddle were patient and helpful despite being so busy.
So back to you impatient, ungrateful,
entitled whiners...understand there is a massive shortage of veterinarians. If you are curious as to why, and since you have soooooo much time on your hands waiting, read my review of Tier One Wasilla. Then, be kind to and appreciative of veterinarians and their staff, or there will be even less of them in the future.
Thank you so much for being there for Lichen.
Caitlin Johannes
These guys are great. We unfortunately see them on a semi regular basis but we have 2 cats and 2 dogs so someone is always doing something that requires a last minute visit to get stitched together or whatnot. Wait times can be long but it’s no different than going to a human ER. On demand care is like that. We haven’t ever had a seriously long wait (1-4 hours to be seen is reasonable because we have gone to them with minor emergencies like upset stomachs). They are kind and accommodating. They are gentle which is great for my shy husky. The doctors know their stuff and the staff is understanding of how important your pets are to you. We love this place... we just wish we could see them less.
tiffany johnson
Very kind and understanding. Able to assist in needs of both dogs. Explained everything going on and needing to happen and were willing to call and update when any cha he’d since my dogs needed overnight observation. Pricing was also reasonable.

My small dog was attacked by a larger dog the night before in another city and we had to drive back to Anchorage to find an emergency vet. She was stable and her injuries were not too severe but I got in within an hour as they take pets based on severity. The vet, I don’t recall her name (I was a little stressed) was very understanding and explained all she did and some recommendations. The person who checked me in and the tech were both quick and thorough also. I would definitely recommend PET in an emergency! Thank you PET.
Jason F
Wonderful people who helped me and my pet. No nonsense, get stuff done, no over charging, no unanswered questions.
Danielle Lane
The staff was incredibly helpful especially as a first time dog mom. They were understanding and got our “little” guy taken care of right away. Hopefully won’t need to go back but if I do need to make another trip to a Pet ER this is where I will go. Highly recommend to friends and family with pets in an emergency situation

I had to take my sweet doggo in after she suffered an extremely out of the blue full body seizure. She had never had one before - to say I was anxious and worried would be a complete understatement. Everyone from the front desk staff, to the vet techs, and the vet herself were extremely pleasant. They took good care of Kalli, were very patient and explained everything to me thoroughly. They didn’t try to force me into anything unnecessary, called before administering blood tests and made sure to give me the cost of everything up front. They sent us home with detailed paperwork, which included information on the best way to monitor my sweet girl for any more seizures and what avenues to take should another one occur. Overall, I was very pleased with their care and thankful they were there!
Sonya Senkowsky
The details of our dog's last hospitalization (during the pandemic) are too awful for me to be able to write, but I wanted to express my appreciation for everyone at PET E.R. who helped her. She had a chronic condition for which she was being treated long-term, and they had already saved her life at least twice over--once identifying and removing a cancer. This meant that she got to know the staff, and they got to know her. They not only were compassionate, but it was clear they had created a real relationship with our girl. This was also obvious in the fact that she never feared going to see them. This, and the way that they shared details about what they had observed and their interactions with her, made us feel she was at least among friends when she passed (through no fault of theirs). We also deeply appreciated that they pointed out we could probably get our pet insurance to work with them directly, so we didn't have to keep wondering what would get covered. We did this, and it worked flawlessly, allowing us to give our girl the best possible chance. (Yes, vet care in general is super-expensive in Alaska. This is why pet insurance is a necessity. PET ER's charges are not out of line with what you can expect elsewhere in Anchorage, and they have specialists on staff.)
Halle Schuening
These ladies were so quick and were amazing about keeping in touch with what’s going on and what they have to do. They made my night a little less stressful and took only the best care of my puppy. This place is the only true 24 hr vet care facility. I can’t explain how thankful I am for the team and how well they took care of my puppy. This has to be the only emergency vet I’d recommend to anyone.
Beverly Holmes
Pet Emergency Treatment is the most well-run and professional clinic. They communicate with the pet owner every step of the way and provide excellent care. I have used them several times over the years and their service level is consistently high. My current visit was for my cat who had a broken and infected leg and Dr. Davidson and the staff gave him kind and competent treatment. They reassured me by sharing every step and I knew that my sweet cat was in good hands. Thank you Pet Emergency Treatment!
Lisa Ilutsik
We had to send our precious dog in for an exam to find out why she’s losing weight. Sadly there’s nothing that can be done medically for her. They took excellent care of my dog , for that I am eternally grateful, we love Sara so very much. Thank you for seeing Sara, we live in bush Alaska and there is no veterinary services. Thank you 🙏 …

Cami had to go back in to Pet Emergency as she wasn’t responding initially to the oral antibiotics and her pancreatitis flared. Almost all of my he staff and all the doctors were extremely warm, professional, articulate in communicating concerns, options and progress. Nurse Amanda and Kaitlin deserve special appreciation as fo a couple others that I apologize but I forgot the names…… going above and beyond with caring for both Cami and me. Cannot thank you for bough for giving me more time with my gal! Thank you! Cameo (Cami) and Leigh

My kitty had a bad and bloody UTI. I had to wait in my car, but I got the most helpful, caring and calming vet tech who calmed me down and explained the process. They were absolutely packed, and I saw people going ahead of me, they had some critical patients that night. I knew she was in good hands and we just needed to wait. My baby and I were treated with such kindness. Thanks for saving animal lives Pet Emergency!

My guinea pig had some eye irritations. I called every vet that would see a guinea pig in Anchorage and the booking was so far out, that each vet kept referring me to other vets to see if they could get me in faster. After calling all of the vets in town, the earliest appointment was 2-3 weeks out. I ended up going to PET Emergency. I was in and out in under an hour. My guinea pig was taken care of, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. Highly recommend this place. Very professional as well.
Crystal Williams
The vets asst was really great. She got my boy to not be afraid and come out from under the chair. Without her it would have been almost impossible to successfully exam Zeke because he was so skittish at first, but with some gentle coaxing he lightened up a bit.
Christy Garrett
The staff was very helpful and solicitous in what is always a trying time. They kept us informed and our pet was obviously well cared for and came out happy to see us, but not stressed as they were when we left! I could tell they had been comfortable with the people and the surroundings.
Sheena Woodard
Our boy is home and I couldn’t be more thankful to Pet Emergency Treatment. They saved my life by saving this Devil of mine. The staff there were some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. I really just wanted to hug them all. Dr. Riddle, omg I felt like he was trying to save his own dog the way he was with Ruger. Dr. Hefley did his surgery and talked to us before and after. She talked and explained everything like we were friends. Tia up front, her energy kept me happy when I was in there and Kelly, the manager, well she’s beyond a saint. There’s no other way to put it! She’s my hero.
After the experience we had with them, I wouldn’t take my dogs any where else for an emergency!
Julie Confer
Awesome staff. Very nice greeting when I arrived. Hardly any wait. The price for my visit was reasonable. They sent an update to my regular vet asap. Very happy with everything.
Eric Voorhees
Our young puppy had an accident and we are so happy we turned to PET to help. Dr. Richardson was prompt at seeing us due to the urgency of the situation and was very helpful and informative while our puppy was at PET. We felt our puppy was in very good hands during her entire stay at PET. Since our puppy stayed the night and Dr. Richardson went off shift, Dr. Compton took over during the discharge process and was also very helpful. I highly recommend PET and consider them highly professional, responsive and caring for the animals and service they provide. Thanks PET!

The staff at pet emergency were amazing. Everybody was so caring and helpful. Dr. Walton was a fountain of information and so knowledgeable. Everybody makes you feel very comfortable there. I highly recommend them to anybody with a pet!!

The staff was amazing even though the clinic was overwhelmed. The wait was so long, but it isn't the clinics fault. It is even more important that while this staff had to deal with frustration and urgency, they did it with kindness and patience. Great Job PET ER!!!

Besides the 8 hour wait outside in the vehicle all night, once we were called in, they gave my Hank 2 tests and in 20 minutes knew what was wrong and was given 3 day meds to get rid of problem. They got right to the point and had compassion regarding our boy and what the prognosis was instantly. Definitely will bring Hank back here if we ever have to bring him again. Thanks to those that help our pets be the best they can be!!

The staff and Dr Richardson are amazing!! They took great care of Mocha after having an emergency last evening! Thank you and May God bless you all all!

The care from the veterinarian was fantastic. Very thorough and answered all my questions. Our dog was suffering from severe liver toxicity after eating a large pile of amanita mushrooms that had been stashed in the woodshed by squirrels. However, I am only giving 3 stars because of the excessive wait. Over 9 hours waiting in the parking lot while consistently being told that I was next on the list and not to go anywhere. In the meantime, I watched other animals walk in and walk out, the parking lot empty and fill and empty, all while I was waiting. I definitely think a better triage process is needed. Perhaps it would be helpful to allow people to leave after triage as long as they can get back quickly (15-30 minutes).

They took incredible care of my sweet Myshka and I’m so grateful to have her home 🐾 …

Our shepherd puppy had a wound on her neck and our vet couldn't schedule us in for an assessment. PET ER was one of the recommendations, and I'm really glad we went here. The wait time was expected as it a walk-in only clinic. Don't go here expecting to be seen asap for minimal issues, and don't be rude and nasty due to impatience. These vets and techs are working around the clock and assessing accordingly. Honestly the two hour wait was way less amount of time than I was expecting and not a big deal. I packed treats, snacks, books, and chargers so it was a whatever it takes type of visit. Once they took our puppy, the vet did a good assessment figured out the issue and the front desk gave us a run down on the bill. She was in and out within an hour. Our puppy is very hyper and super loud, but everyone was very patient and knowledgeable!

Dr Walton AND ALL THE STAFF have been exceptional.
When my dog was clinging to life, he had discovered the root of her illness and quickly put her on track to a recovery system . It may be a slow process. but very well worth it. we appreciate there hard work and not giving up on her as another local clinic was.
DR. WALTON AND STAFF Thank You very much for all you do and your concern for our pet

Excellent care down to every detail in the treatment of our kitty (aka, our smallest family member). Its has been a while (happily!!) since needing a vet with our animals - what a surprise that our cat was examined from head to toe & each issue specifically addressed. Our pet got just as good of care (if not better!) than a human family member going into a hospital emergency room. Thank you so very much!

My dog was seen in the Pet Emergency 2 days ago for a bite on her side given by one of my other dogs. When I came in about 7 pm at night, there was no one in the waiting room. A tech came out and immediately wanted to give IV pain medication. I asked to see the doctor first. It was a long time before the doctor came and then I was told that I would have to pay $700 on my credit card before she could be cared for and that I would have to leave her there and come back. I asked to be called as soon as she was done. Also, I was told that if my dog arrested during sedation that she would only be given CPR if I signed an agreement ahead of time to pay $350. At 5 am the next day, I called back for the second time and was told I could come in to get my dog. I asked to go over the charges and $120 was credited to my card, (total cost now $580) but now I find out it will be 7-10 days before that happens. The doctor was professional and my dog was given good care. I am very concerned, however, that the charges are too high and money has become more important than service, particularly that the staff will only provide resuscitation if you sign in advance to pay for it. To me I feel strongly that the veterinarian should be willing to resuscitate an animal without having to know in advance if they are going to be paid for it.

My dog was taken there on a Wednesday night because of a uti that is ultimately my fault for not watching. They ran tests on him but before that we needed to put a $700 deposit down to do all these tests. We were told by the Dr that our dog would need to have his kidney levels drop before proceeding with the surgery. However my dog didn’t have surgery until Sunday afternoon partly because of his levels but also partly bc of them being so busy or other emergencies. So my dog ended up extending his stay and then when I went in to pick him up, I checked out with one receptionist, she took the payment but afterwards I sat for almost another hour before my dog was brought out -( I had to ask again for them to bring him out after I had seen so many other pets come out and leave with their owners.) They are great and the fact they provide 24 hours service is great. I appreciate all the efforts. What I don’t appreciate is the demand for payment and the lack of information. I was told numerous times I would get a call back but I always had to call in. I would be on hold for 20-60 mins and some of the receptionists didn’t have a clue what was going on and sometimes just sounded more annoyed that I was calling. - these are our babies, family members. Again, not all the experience was bad. Some of those techs and receptionists are really great with the animals and it shows.
Thank you again for taking care of my baby and letting him come back home to me. I appreciate you all taking your time to provide feedback. Again, your services are great! Thank you.
Ken Hagler
Staff was kind and understanding and took good care of my kittie. Care was limited that they could do and was referred out to a specialist. It was a looking wait but it New Year's Eve day so I know they were full. Overall, my experiences have been good.
Sharon Andersen
My dog had a horrific accident the ripped her side from behind elbow towards her hip. She was rushed to PET Emergency and they did a wonderful job of repairing her side. The care instructions were very detailed and clear...She ran the risk of having some of the tissue becoming necrotic. She has recovered beautifully with no further surgery necessary. I'm so very pleased with the staffs caring and patience with my questions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them highly.
Dina Vinyard
The Emergency Animal Hospital experience was awesome. They got my dog in the same day, were very timely and thorough. Kelly helping me on the phone, the vet tech who came to get my dog and assess her, Stephanie coordinating the doctor and surgery and Dr. Fugazzi were all exceptional!
Amy Fell
Very kind and caring team of people from the front desk to the technicians to the doctors. I will say Since the wait times are insane understandably it’s an ER so it’s in order of need I get that. But I would suggest maybe some type of triage process on intake. Situation my dogs ear was actively bleeding blood all over myself and my dog we were told it was going to be a few hours wait and no assistance was offered to me in terms of anything I was just told he was essentially not dying which was obvious. I had to come up with a solution myself and basically ask if a tech had a moment to at least wrap the ear to contain the bleeding while we waited because otherwise he’d be sitting out in the rain bloody for hours. I know they assess the dogs pulse on intake to make sure the dog isn’t in danger that I get but maybe take extra step of a triage type process would be helpful while patients wait to see the doctor. All in all good experience and thanks for taking care of my boy.
Nicole Deren
I am so happy with the team here. I was so worried about my puppy but I got seen quickly and the doctor was fantastic in getting him assessed and treated. I feel good knowing that in an emergency I can take my pets here and they will be in the best hands!
Heather Beck
My small dog ate chocolate covered raisins and was pretty sick. While incredibly busy, the staff was efficient, professional, patient, and knowledgeable. While I wish my dog didn’t have to visit, Pet ER did a great job taking care of her.
Lorna Morris
There was quite a wait, but I was seen as soon as a slot opened up. The staff was extremely pleasant and genuinely caring. The doctor was thorough and suggested an x-ray to determine if there was anything that might show up. The doctor discussed the findings and a plan for care. I trust them with my pets.
Kristin Oberman
Communication has been a little unclear lately. I know they are super busy, but clear communication can help tense situations tremendously. They did a great job taking care of our cat who was in pretty rough shape. Obvious they care a great deal and do everything they can to help sick and injured animals. Much appreciated!
TaggarungAk
Very kind and knowledgeable! They were able to see my hamster very quickly! Very reasonably priced. I’ve been there with a friend when they had to put their dog to sleep, and they were very compassionate and professional. They even had a room with couches where you could say goodbye in comfort and privacy.
Rory B
Wonderful staff helped when my poor dog cut his paw. They were sympathetic about my problems with blood and took him to the back to exam his paw closely. He got stitches that night and is already feeling much better. Every time I have needed them they have always been there, not just the most recent visit. Highly recommend going there if your animal is in need.

Yesterday I called my clinic and told them that my cat had passed away and wanted to have her cremated. They were nice enough to tell me they would just take her over to the Pet Emergency Treatment and I'd end up paying a transfer fee so I should just call the PET and take her there myself. I called them and they told me to bring her down anytime and call when I got there. The parking lot was full and instead of making wait hours like I was expecting I called and they took my information over the phone and told me to walk her into the entry room. They were kind, understanding and quick, which I was very glad of as sitting in my car with my dead cat was not a pleasant thing. Thank-you to each and everyone who helped me today. I appreciated it more than words can say.
mary dimock
Staff professional, and my dog received great care from Dr. Applegate and her staff during the 4 days she was at PET. Only negative was the wait time spent in the parking lot and estimated wait time was always much longer than stated, up to 6 hours, leaving me in limbo as to whether I should make the 40 minute drive back home or wait in town. Apparently, during this pandemic they were short staffed thus causing the longer waits. I am so glad my dog is recovering and I owe that to PET so, in the end the wait was diffinately worth it for my now healthy companion.

My dearest boarder collie lab recently had surgery and was presently g with a suture infection issue with possible dehiscence. It’s a Sunday my usually vet was closed. I was so grateful that we could be seen with you all!!! Thank you for the excellent care and kindness in our moment of distress!!!!! The cost was so affordable and the service A++++. Thank you 🙏
J Bohannon Family
This staff was amazing! We called at the parking lot, they took her back right away as she had some shallow breathing, slow heart rate. They kept in communication with us, took care great care and now my pup is doing great!
It was a big tricky trying to figure out how to get in there. You can’t turn right into the parking lot from Lake Otis or left from Dowling cause of the median. Causing some u turns.
Amelia Winczura
Overall a great experience. Very friendly staff.
Took longer than expected as we provided phone number of toxicologist with our pet insurance company prior to showing up with our dogs. We did this as requested by our insurance company so they could call before we arrived as ingestion of a substance is a time sensitive issue.
J S
Excellent service even though everyone is under a lot of pressure. For an ER clinic you have to expect longer wait time, however the staff is always apologetic and eager to get you in as soon as they can. I know that the clinic was very busy last night with multiple seizure dogs and the vet there is personable. I cannot say that about all vet's that I have run across. She is exceptional even though under high stress. The front desk staff is very kind and patient. I wish I could use this clinic as my regular vet but is hard with not being able to make appointments.

I have a mini daschund who was attacked by a chocolate lab and he sustained two bad bite wounds. The staff at Pet Emergency are amazing. They are professional and caring. They understand the stress I have been going through and they have been so kind and providing excellent medical care. They go above and beyond. I would recommend anyone who needs emergency or just general care to seek care from this facility. I choose them over regular vet care. This place is amazing!
Adam Lutchansky
Dr. Walton and his team are fantastic. We came to them with a withered and dying pet and Dr. Walton performed a series of diagnostics, discussing the logic and price with us at each step and patiently explaining the technical aspects. When the diagnosis was in, he provided a number of paths forward. We took his advice always, and followed his directions with discipline. Our pet is now in full remission, is active and happy, and is starting to look rather plump. Emily, Ashley, and Jessica are each awesome, and always got back to us to answer even trivial questions. Dr. Walton also has a wild, incredibly patriotic life story. The rest of the Pet ER staff always treated us well, and the facility is always clean and organized.

My dog has had to be hospitalized in Pet ER twice this year and both times has been amazing. The staff is very knowledgeable and kind when treating both my dog and my anxiety over my kiddo. I so deeply appreciate the outstanding care my dog has received. You guys are the best!
Berenise Flores
Amazing! My dog ate something toxic in the middle of the night and we had to drive to PET emergency as they had advised us to come in. As soon as we walked in they took my dog back and induced vomiting. I had never taken my dog to a vet for an emergency situation before and I was very worried and stressed out but they were very compassionate and I felt they cared about my dog as much as I did which eased my nerves.
Dahlia Garcia
From the time we walked in, we were welcomed. The receptionist was very nice. My Mia was very uncomfortable, restless, and panting when we brought her in. As her parents, we knew she was in pain, but we did not know she was pregnant. She needed a pretty urgent C-section due to baby's low heart rate. Dr. Valero and the Vet Tech took great care of my Mia. The puppy had a very low heart rate upon delivery. We did not expect a good outcome for him. The Vet Tech did an amazing job recovering him. I'm so glad mom and pup are okay and home. Mia is now also spayed. We also received very thorough post op instructions. Thank you so much for taking outstanding care of my fur babies.
Shannon Storey
My dog Noel ate a big box of raisins right before Christmas and she was seen right right away. The staff were friendly and informative and I felt at ease knowing my little best friend was in capable hands. They let me know I could request updates at any time and kept me informed. And based on the fact that Noel seemed to need to say goodbye to all the staff as she passed through I’d say she was also happy with her care
Konrad K
Long wait but to be expected with ER care. The staff was awesome. AJ is awesome. The vet and vet techs all were helpful. I called back about something yesterday and the front desk girl was a bit curt with me, but I know they’ve been busy and probably stressed out. Overall a good experience.
Kris Lowe
They were quick and courteous when my puppy had a bad allergic reaction and I was worried. They took care of him in the middle of the night and told me how to handle it. Thought it was going to be much more expensive than what I was billed but it was a good price for great care. I will be going to them with my dog for future care. Thank you so much for helping us get through a ruff night. Seriously, I was scared my dog was hurting and they took care of him and he is 100% again.
Sue Sumpter
The care our dog received during a critical life threatening emergency was excellent. Dr Allison Melocik was quick to diagnose the illness which I am sure saved our dogs life. Thank you!

❤I couldn't have asked for a better team! ❤
They got Loki in, examined, & treated asap! Everyone was kind, courteous, compassionate, & my poor suffering dog is now on the road to recovery thanks to their knowledge & dedication! The fact that they are there to answer questions & provide support afterwards has been a Godsend! I truly cannot say enough good things about my experience with them! Thank you, team PET, y'all are the greatest!👏❤👍

Once we got into a room after 5 hrs of waiting. In spite of the long wait - it was worth the care my little girl got.
Heather Stuart
We were at Pet Emergency for 8 hours waiting due to the amount of people going to pet emergency right now because they can’t get in to see their vet for anything urgent. As busy as they were, they’re customer service was amazing and I appreciate the services they offer to us pet parents. They’re staff are great and always polite and responsive to my questions! Highly recommend!
Keri Wittwer
Took my old man chihuahua terrier Jet there last night to be put down. First time ever going through that so I have nothing to compare it to, but all of the employees, including the doctor, were knowledgeable and kind, and very professional. I would highly recommend this place for all of your emergency pet needs. Their prices are also very manageable.
Steven Rosenfield
Excellent and compassionate care during a stressful time for both pet and owner.
My only complaint would be the long unavoidable wait to be seen. Due to the pandemic this was endured in a very cold car.
Cody Rodgers
Our cat, Atlas, has had the unfortunate chance to go to the pet ER recently and ended up needing a surgery. The staff were very understanding and compassionate towards how much my cat means to me and gave him the love, attention, and care I expect. Obviously the bill was a hard pill to swallow, but as many pet owners can relate - we would do anything for more time with our pets.
Michael Andrews
The vet and staff at Pet ER were incredible when I brought my dog in. They acted super quick, explained everything to me and were able to treat my dog immediately. Very happy I chose to go to them!
Tina
I said goodbye to my best friend of 13 years in July. It had been a difficult and emotional day for the staff at Pet ER but they made sure my girl could be in the sunshine and green grass. Pet ER had saved her a couple of times in life and in the end they gave her the most peaceful passing. Thank you to Dr. Harrison for being so kind.
Makayla Goodwine
Amazing customer service! The front desk ladies did amazing calming me down after my cat got into a fight and I am entirely grateful for them. I had to wait for a hot second because there were other emergent situations, which I understand because it is an ER. But once we were seen, the staff was super helpful and very caring when it came to my cat. My cat has since fully recovered and I would recommend PET ER to all of my friends! Thank you guys for everything!!
Lynsea Newman
I brought my lil angel Reilee here on Jan 22nd, the Drs there, Dr Sarah especially was so caring and such a wonderful veterinarian. The Dr that came after her shift was just as Wonderful, Dr Riddle I think, I was a complete wreck over losing my baby in the end, and they all were very caring, and the front office was very understanding and very helpful and very kind too.
Kristin K'eit
The staff here were quick to assist me, explain the process of checking in and seeing my pet in relation to covid-19 restrictions, and were compassionate while being efficient. They kept me updated through out the process from when the vet would see my pet, when the vet would update me on the exam requirements (an x-ray and blood draw), when the vet would let me know the results of exam, and treatment options. The only minor thing that would be a plus is to have more written info about the prescribed medication like side effects and how long until my pet would be adapted to it.

PetER is the best. Our little dog (all 7 pounds of him) got kicked by a bull moose. We rushed him to PetER and they took excellent care of him. He is going to make it, has a long journey ahead of him but he is a tough guy! They have taken care of our other fur babies in the past and been there at the end.
Yes, during these pandemic times you have to stay in your car but they work at keeping you up to what is going on with your fur baby.
All of the doctors from the ER side to the internal medicine and all the techs are the best. We are so fortunate to have this quality of care in Alaska.
Anne Williams
Pet Emergency Treatment saved my cat's life. When I rushed her in she was in extremely critical condition from insulin shock. They were able to immediately stabilize her and kept her overnight to monitor her condition. They kept in touch with me throughout the whole ordeal and were extremely compassionate and kind. I would highly recommend them to any one experiencing a pet emergency.
M Croz
Friendly staff really showed they cared. Took my kitten in at 1100 at night after we noticed his eyelid starting to swell and turn bright red. As soon as we arrived they checked on my kitten to make sure he was stable and identify the main issue. They got us into a room within 10 mins and did a thorough exam and was able to identify another issue he had. They were caring and took time to explain the treatment he needed not just at that moment but over the next couple weeks. If you have a pet emergency this is the place to go.
Heidi Tsukada
I came in with my very old cat who seemed to be suffering from a UTI. I was greeted immediately, and despite several animals that were also needing to be seen, my cat was seen and we were able to leave within 2.5 hours of my arrival. The tech and Dr.Lavery were very kind towards my cat, who was really nervous. Dr. Lavery was also sensitive to the cost of the medication that my cat needed and she prescribed the bare amount noting that it would be less expensive at our regular vet.
J. Seagull
I really appreciate these folks. Compassionate, and professional. Great communication, also. Fixed my little friend up, after he got into some trouble. Every member of the staff we spoke with had a calm, professional attitude. This was my first trip to this vet, and was very impressed with them. Thank you.
Loni Quinn
Our 12-year old Pomeranian needed emergency surgery after we noticed her acting very sickly for about 24 hours. Dr. Lavery and Dr. Harmon provided excellent careened treatment of our little girl. The facility was very patient and accommodating; they always answered questions when I called before, during, and after surgery. I cannot recommend their hospital enough.

I recently obtained a Babygirl Wrottweiler puppy on the day of pickup she had a huge abscess on the right side of her little face that had been blocking out her throat it was so swollen! I began searching for vets and within the hour after I purchased new baby puppy I had her in at Pet emergency treatment ! They had her lanced and drained and gave her fluids and started her on antibiotics and pain meds for puppies ! Now it’s been one week later and she is halfway through her medications and she is thriving !! She was so close to expiring and now she is a happy healthy puppy again !! I would reconnect this veterinarian to anybody !! Anyday!! You can trust them with the best care they can possibly provide for your animals health and wellness needs!
Kelly Lewis
The vets and staff were wonderful with my dog. Every interaction was extremely professional. Even though they were slammed with business, they were still able to take great care of my pet!
Sheri Lee
Compassion and expert treatment! Our boy was handled with such wonderful care! Our experience was excellent throughout...from Steve at the front desk, who was amazing and friendly, to Dr. Richardson, who only ordered necessary tests and was compassionate and kind. We saw a wonderful vet tech that was very caring and gentle. The fee for service was much lower than expected and our boy even got a treat before leaving. This is by far the BEST place in Anchorage to take your beloved pets in an emergency!
Kay Huebner
Our dog required emergency care/surgery on a Sunday at a clinic in Wasilla. We live in Anchorage. That evening there was a complication. They didn’t hesitate to immediately assist us. The technician was so kind to not only our dog, but to her owners during a very stressful situation for us. Thank you for your compassion for our dear dog.
Elizabeth Anderson
We arrived on a Sunday afternoon after a porcupine encounter. They got my dog evaluated immediately and made her comfortable until they were able to attend to her quills. She was well cared for by the staff and they were very helpful and informative. The staff were kind and my dog was in good spirits when she was finished.
Jackie Carney
As always, my Great Dane, Shorty, had a great experience. Went in with a painful broken nail and was treated with excellent care by Dr Riddle and his caring assistants. I have used PET for years and have always been treated with great care.
Lorena Alice Nay
Great precautions were taken with Covid. My dog’s care was very good. It was expensive but understandable. If you suspect you may need a cone. Better to bring your own as they are quite expensive from here. It was Memorial Day so there was a wait but great communication. Thank you
Richard Hawley
Pet Emergency is our place to go for all emergencies with our fur babies. Have needed their services several times. They ask questions and explain things in detail. The Staff is considerate of any situation and the Vets are fantastic...thorough in their exams. They listen to what you can tell them about your babies...they are considerate, very caring. Highly recommend Pet Emergency.

A week ago we brought one of our cats home after a week hospitalized at PET ER. He is a very complicated case with diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, and inconsistent response to insulin, who sometimes goes into diabetic ketoacidosis. This was his third hospitalization for these problems, and this time he had a gastrointestinal bleed requiring a transfusion on top of it. It also turns out that he has a very rare blood type, and the blood had to be flown up from Seattle. This is literally the second time they have brought him back from death's door when we were sure we were going to lose him. We have taken at least four other pets in over the last 12 to 14 years, usually for less severe but still urgent problems, including a dog/porcupine encounter that included porcupine quills all over the mouth and head.
As a human physician who sees some of the same or at least similar problems from the other side in the hospital with considerable regularity, and who speaks a similar language, I can say that the care we have received has always been outstanding. This is both an emergency room and a hospital, so patients get triaged. The most serious are seen first, and the doctors don't always have time for long discussions and good bedside manners. However, the triage is fast and efficient, critical patients are seen quickly, and every doctor I have spoken with has been quite knowledgeable, including when time permits, rather long conversations about the similarities and differences of treating the same disease state in humans, dogs, and cats. We have always found the support staff knowledgeable and compassionate, with the exception of a single new hire who was literally on her first day at work there, and who had backup paying attention who immediately jumped in to help her when my description of the problem suggested immediate action was necessary.
I can recommend PET ER without reservation. Depending on the number of pets there and how seriously ill they are, your wait time may be long, and the doctor may have less time to spend with you than you would prefer, but without exception the care our pets have received has been excellent.

Dr. Allison Melocik saved my dogs life!!!! My blue heeler Annie had a very puzzling case. A otherwise healthy active happy dog went from running 7 miles on Sunday to collapsing on her face every time she tried to stand up by Wednesday morning. She also scratched herself a bald spot on the first leg she started to limp on. All the normal blood work and x-rays came back normal but even bending her front legs at this point caused pain to the point she cried.
Running out of options and pain meds only making her cries more mild when we bent her legs, Dr. Melocik and her team really put on their out of the box thinking caps. But we had discussed how she has traveled coast to coast spending significant amount of time in states where there were ticks more commonly found. So they ran a test for Lyme disease and bingo. My poor Lil girl has lymes.
After finding that and checking her liver functions and that coming back normal, she knew the proper treatment and medications to immediately improve her condition and get her on her way yo recovery. Big shout out to a dedicated Dr. Allison Melocik and her team who did an excellent job today. The other two pettos are happy to have their sister home.
Annie and my family thank you

We brought our 14+ year old dog in here to have a relatively large oozing, nasty growth removed from his head. Knowing the potential for long wait times, I called early in the morning (before 4:30 am) and was told they could see me right away if I got there soon. As soon as I pulled up, someone came out, I filled out paperwork, and they carried him inside. The vet called me soon after and explained the process (examination, bloodwork, removal if we wanted it). Given his age I was concerned about anesthesia but Dr Richardson explained it can be done safely in older dogs as long as everything is okay physically for anesthesia. They gave us an estimate and said it would likely be the next vet (Dr Lavery) who would do the procedure. I called at 8:30 to check on him and they said he was still waiting but they would call me when he went into surgery--which they did around 10:30. Dr Lavery called as soon as he was out of surgery (about 11:30) and explained how it went, etc. They told me I could pick him up at about 1:30 which I did. Most of the bad reviews are for long wait times and cost. I got up at 3:45 AM to call--not ideal but hey, it is my dog so I can sacrifice some sleep. Four stars and not 5 for a couple of reasons...the cost is a bit much--I know it is an emergency clinic but I am not sure their costs are really that much higher than a non-emergency clinic. Also, when I went to pick him up, they were shuffling him out of the clinic holding his head up with a cone (I had said no cone and the incision is on the back of his head where there is no way he could reach it!) that was still sort of dragging and holding up his hind end with a towel--that was not working. I met him at the door and had them take off the cone and picked him up and carried him to the car. He isn't that heavy (~65 lbs) and carrying him was a much better option than trying to force him to walk when clearly he could not. It wasn't until the next day that he could actually stand on his own. All in all, I would go here again. Scary to send my dog in to a vet that I don't know, then never get to meet, and wonder if he will even make it through surgery at his age. But everyone in there was great to deal with and I would certainly go here again and would recommend them!
Anna Tracey
I appreciate the staff at Pet ER. Everyone was very nice and professional, I know they deal with a lot everyday but they still show compassion. They were up front about costs and my dogs prognosis.

This is a great place, but please stop telling people false information. They told me my pets leg was going to have to be amputated or she’d need to be put down. Just to tell me to try to come back a couple weeks later for her cleaning and they told me her wound is healing great and she will be fine. The amount of stress this put me through. However, this is my go to vet for my pets. They do help in every way they can.

Good team during the time my dog needed them the week of May 13, 2021. I do believe they did what they could for my dog. just make sure if your animal died you follow up on their ashes. No one called me, they said they called and left a voicemail but nothing on my end. No missed call or voicemail. My dogs ashes were sitting there at the pet Er for almost 2 weeks after I decided to call to check today. Tia said they were having issues with their machines in Juneau and anchorage but they did call and leave a voicemail. my issue was no one followed up. Then tia said i could have called if I was concerned and I was the one who called then she said well that's good I'm glad you called. That's terrible customer service. I lost my dog and I was expressing how I felt about them not following up especially if they knew they had issues with their phones. Let me repeat that, Tia said they did have issues with their phones or machines in Juneau especially. Tia wanted to phone fight and didn't care about someone else. She basically blamed the whole thing On me for not checking up. My dad had to go in and get the ashes. He softly told the two girls who at first impression looked like they didn't care that they really handled the phone situation wrong and if they knew their phones were not working correctly there should of been a follow up. The blonde girl said she would talk to the techs.

It's never easy to say goodbye to our beloved pets. The staff at Pet ER did all they could to make the experience as physically painless as possible and could not have been more supportive, patient and kind with our cat and with us.

You were fantastic...no matter the final outcome. Not only did Dr. Richardson and all others involved as doctors and staff, do your utmost to take great care of Duke, you were also very pro-active with regard to keeping us updated at all times.
You're worth every penny charged, and we love you!
Donna Joe
Would give more stars if I'm able to go in with my pet. Easier for them to show and explain at the same time, instead of trying to explain over the phone. My dog had put cast in 6 weeks ago. I was never able to x-ray photos. 😞 …
Marella Hein
They went above and beyond to help us with our very injured kitty "Stormy". They were kind, understanding, and patient with us. I've never been treated so well at a veterinary clinic. Our kitty is back home and he is going to make a full recovery!
Mariel Donovan
My dog, Cooper, was able to get into a bottle of my other dog’s arthritis medication, Rimadyl. He ate a number of pills that surpassed a lethal dose by a significant amount. Pet ER saw him immediately and took every measure to save his life. They communicated often and clearly and with immense kindness. I’m very grateful to them for saving Cooper’s life and helping me to manage his future treatments.

Had to take one of our pack in last night for a hurt paw. With as many fur babies as we have we are at the ER maybe once a year. We love PET last night was no exception. Theu were great with me and my pup. Our animals are comfortable with the staff and always treated well and even get snacks after their visits. Thanks guys for being nice, dependable and great with our pets!

I was very impressed at the level of care and customer service that was provided to me and my feline boy. My 10 year old cat had an issue with his kidneys and not only did he leave feeling much better after a 24 hour stay, they also took care of me too. I walked in at 9pm at night to get an update, and as busy as they are, one of their techs took some time for me so that I could visit him. I had a ton of questions and they answered them all, without ever making me feel like it was too much or like they were in a hurry. I was one of those crazy moms who needs to know every little detail and I just appreciate so much how I was treated and how well they took care of my cat. I am so grateful to have a place for pet emergency's that I trust. Great receptionists, techs, and Vet's. Well worth it!

Recently had a pet emergency. They were able to take our pet and provided excellent vet care. They were quick and when I called for updates they were friendly to answer and give me prompt answers. Office staff very friendly and attentive. Will continue to use their services.

Our boy Balto was having serious issues throwing up and was very dehydrated. We arrived and waited a bit as he had seemingly been doing better, until he covered the entire waiting room with puke .. they immediately took him In the back to start helping. The staff was very sweet and accommodating and made us feel better about the embarrassing moment we just had with our dog, and were very professional and kind from the moment we walked in. They also ensured they weren’t charging us for more than what was needed, and even tried (and succeeded!) getting my sometimes reactive dog to cooperate with xrays before deciding to sedate him. Thankfully, they didn’t need to! I would 100% take my dog here every time . Thank you PET ER for helping our sweet Balto feel better!!
Lindsey Poirot
Brought my dog in for a bad shoulder injury and had nothing but a positive experience. The staff was all very friendly and helpful and the Doc was very informative and did not do any unnecessary testing or imaging that they could have easily gotten away with to jack up the price.Very happy and thankful for their service.
Lieza Wilcox
Long wait, it looks like these guys are overloaded and probably need another doctor, but the vet and the staff were wonderful, and went above and beyond to get my dog the help she needed after an accident. Covid-related policy of waiting in the car outside is really an improvement over regular business. Much more comfortable for the pet to hang out with owner in the back seat than in the waiting room.
Jordan Petersen
We recently took our dog into the clinic to get looked at, and they were very friendly, patient, kind with my whole family being an emotional mess. It ended up with us having to put our dog down unfortunately, but they were very understanding. They didn't make us feel like bad owners for having to make that decision VS. having surgery on an 11 year old pup. They were nothing but great. I would recommend anyone to this clinic!

The team at SOVSC is wonderful. I knew something was going on with my pet as she was throwing up all day...I called in the evening and I was told to bring her in. I told them her other symptoms and the person on the phone said she was unresponsive. It was an emergency and I thank the the ER for seeing her. She was there for 3 1/2 days. After tests it showed that she has pancreatitis. I Thank the overnight Dr.s and Dr. Winters and her team, Jean and Ashley.
Hannah Stepanchuk
The first time I came here, my kitten had a horrible ulcer that developed on his eye and he had to have his eye removed. I was treated with so much respect and courtesy and in a timely fashion! The second time, today, I brought my other cat in and he ultimately had to be put down. I didn’t see this coming at all it absolutely the last thing i expected from this trip. I was accommodated, treated with absolute compassion and everything went exactly on my terms to make sure I had the most comfort possible in such a horrible situation. That meant the world to me. I cannot express how much I appreciate not only the kindness shown to me, but the gentleness towards my cat and the clear value of his comfort and life. I was devastated regardless, but they helped me know he was pain free, comfortable and unafraid when he passed and that’s priceless.

Another exceptional service done for Shiloh today. Well-explained treatment plan and estimated payment. Thank you for great service for our pets!!!

Although it is frustrating that there are long wait times here, it is understandable since it’s an emergency services center. The main issue and the worst part about the place is the front desk girls, especially the young blonde haired girl. I hate having to call out people but this was a horrible experience. These kinds of girls should not have these positions, especially in a place of high emotions and scary situations where people’s beloved pets are in bad conditions and the owners are very distraught. They are very unwelcoming, unsympathetic, and displayed absolutely no care or concern in your pet that is in pain or horribly sick. She would ask you questions in such a rude and monotone way. She was laughing on her phone and to the other girl while you were filling out paperwork. You do not feel like your pet is in safe hands here, or cared for here, at the front desk.
Once you stick around through the wait times and get past the front desk girls, the veterinary professionals in the back are absolute rockstars. The vets in the back are genuine people who are so kind, and actually show care and love for animals. They are so gentle and loving to your animal. Their explanations were very clear to help elaborate what is happening with your pet. You finally feel like your pet is in good hands. They call your phone throughout your pet’s stay to give you updates, so you are aware of what’s going on.
In conclusion, the front desk needs a lot more of a welcoming energy, but the medical professionals behind the scenes are amazing!!

I adopt/foster senior animals so I have my fair share of visits to the emergency vet. I moved to northern California from southern California and this was my first time bringing one of my seniors here. I have to say this was THE most professional, cheapest and friendly emergency facility I have EVER done business with. This is now my go to facility for all my animals/fosters emergency services. AMAZING!!!
Corin Smith
Everyone there is so incredibly nice and understanding. Although it took a while to see my pet, they were able to get him into surgery and get him home on the same day. Can’t say thank you enough!!

I want to take the time to post that I woke this morning to find my bunny rabbit Jet in gut stasis again. Even with all the dietary and living condition changes we have made over at home in the years...it happened again. I previously experienced that PET emergency did not see exotic animals. But this time (Sunday morning) with usual vet not available, I called and they said that although they do not specialize in rabbits, they did not want him to suffer and I should bring him in and they would see what they could do. I brought all his medications and emergency medications with him. After a kind and experienced examination and diagnosis by Dr Harmon, the most kind and experienced vet tech, Jessie administered fluids to by dehydrated bunny as well as his emergency medications. Jessie taught me some "tricks" to self-treating my bunny at home in case we have another emergency on a Sunday or Holiday. Bunny Jet was back on his feet and eager to eat again before he left. My little bunny is very sensitive to the people who touch him or care for him. He really liked and responded favorably to everyone there, especially Jessie. I was critical of them a few years ago, but now, I give them the highest and well-deserved praises.
Mwinvictus
The entire staff was very warm and receptive throughout our recent, middle-of-the-night emergency visit. They helped check out our little Nelson promptly, took the time necessary to thoroughly explain possible areas of concern, and presented us with options which allowed us to make an informed decision. Our entire experience was positive and we felt the staff was professional and courteous to the highest degree. From now on, this will be our go to care provider when time is of the essence.
*side note- We’ve read many negative reviews of this business (which it is just that, a business with employees whom all need to get paid). Surprisingly enough, the majority of these negative reviews seem to center on financial concerns. We felt that the price we were presented with was both reasonable and affordable, especially considering the nature and timing of our visit. Don’t let these naysayers keep you from receiving excellent, professional care.
Tracy Smith
Nobody likes taking their pets to the emergency room. But the staff and Doctors here are fantastic. Everyone was kind and helpful. And in the end they fixed my poor girl right up. Thanks!!
Joyce Goodell
We first brought our very sick dog here a year ago, after she was undiagnosed with a severe issue from another hospital. She was treated, referred, and also hospitalized. Since then, we have used Pet ER exclusively until we find another vet capable of taking care of her unique problems. It is expensive, but we have repeatedly gotten quality treatment and advice from them. The inexperience of the front desk staff shows at times, but we have been treated with care and respect. Dr. Walton (the internist who travels to AK) is one of the most knowledgeable animal physicians I have come across. He takes so much time to discuss issues, answer questions and give options. The Vets and techs on staff have a wonderful knowledge base, and are caring and compassionate. I would recommend this hospital for care for your pet.
Susan Carter
I have been extremely happy with the care my dog has received at southern Oregon Specialty Veterinary Center. No one locally could figure it out, and they knew pretty quickly what was wrong with my dog and how to treat it. Its expensive, but if your pet is dying, its the place to come.
Rosa Urbina
My bunny Aspen was very sick Sunday. I had to take him to the Pet Emergency Treatment late at night. With all the chaos going on the staff was really kind and willing to see my baby bun. I was a hot mess crying and they were very kind and understanding. Aspen is feeling a lot better and I have to say that the staff was a big help for me and Aspen. Thank you!
William Seccareccia
I've always had a positive experience here, the staff is great and knowledgeable. Both my pups have been here and will continue going here when I need expertise or emergency services.
Highly recommend Dr. Walton and the stem cell procedure for pets (that would benefit from it). Works wonders!
Rebecca Osborne
PET emergency was able to get my pet in and evaluated quickly. They found the problem and immediately got on fixing it! They kept me very informed of what was going on which was very appreciated! Would definitely go back for any pet Emergency!
Robert Thomas
My dog Patch saw Dr Walton. Dr Walton was wonderful. He took the time to explain what was happening with Patch and answered all my questions. I was never rushed nor did I feel hurried. The doctors at Pet Emergency have always been fantastic.

We recently had to take our little "Scooter", a 7lb long haired Chihuahua to the emergency clinic. Because of covid issues he had to wait to be seen (they are super busy and short staffed) when he was seen he received outstanding care. Highly recommend them.

Had to leave my older dog for a work trip and he’s on the high maintenance side these days... PetER came through for us when my flight was cancelled and I was delayed a day over the weekend and my husband had to bring him in.
Over the last 14 years I have always been able to count on PetER. Additionally, it is a very nice, clean and caring clinic.
Betsy Palfreyman
My dog went to clinic stable but needing Emergency surgery. Staff was pleasant and helpful, sadly money does seem to be such a priority at these clinics now. Unfortunately, my dog ended up with complication of peritonitis post op and rapidly became septic. A poor prognosis of survival and cost estimates over double the original cost of surgery… the surgery that caused sepsis to begin with, led to decision to let my poor dog go rather than put him through hell with little hope of recovery. In my research peritonitis occurs in less than 10% of patients post op, it was and remains heartbreaking that my 5 year old pup ended up on the terrible end of this statistic. My regular vet both called me after this loss and wrote me a lovely note. This clinic did neither. They also forgot about me when I arrived to pick up the ashes. After spending $4,000 and having the heartbreak of this complication, I would expect better.

My cat swallowed a toy and he received vital care on a Sunday night! Thank you!
Aeonius West
Many thanks to Dr. Lavery and the techs who helped put my beloved shepherd to sleep. We were treated with tenderness and compassion from the moment that we walked in. There is a quiet room set aside for these difficult moments, and I had plenty of time to say goodbye.
The price was very reasonable, considering that we had three highly trained professionals who were available at an unscheduled moment in the middle of the night. So many thanks for your hard work and expertise.
Rita Jacobs
Have used this facility many times for many pets over time. Always pleased with the professional service and caring staff. Yes, it costs a bit more to use an ER facility. ERs maintain staff 24/7 and a wide variety of advanced diagnostic equipment beyond what most GP veterinary practices have in house.
The wait time can vary as they triage critical care cases. I had an occasion to stop in again on the weekend with a routine issue (that would have become a critical issue without care) because regular clinic was closed. While waiting to be seen I recalled the many times past dogs and current accident prone Boxer dog had been treated here. Glad to have this facility here.

PetER has been a saving grace. My pets have been on some kind of mission to drain my finances and give me a stress heart attack. PetER has been amazing in calmly dealing with my hysterical self and taking amazing care of my fur babies. Thank you all you do and I hope to never see you again this year. ☺️🥰 …

Dr. Walton is great, he is a very knowledgeable and well connected vet! I literally drive all the way from Homer to see Dr. Walton. (It's almost 10 hours roundtrip). I believe Dr.Walton is the only vet in the state that can treat my dog Brutus. I've been to four other vets in Homer and Soldotna and Brutus's case has been beyond them. Dr. Walton takes the time to really assess and treat Brutus and goes above and beyond to help me keep him healthy, he thinks outside of the box and reaches out to his many contacts in the medical community for solutions for my dog! I will always recommend Dr Walton.
Sarah Kingsley
Thank you so much for always providing such great care to our two dogs!! We especially appreciate everything Dr. Lavery did ~ She really went above and beyond and is very knowledgeable and compassionate!!
McConnell Adams
Great staff. On the phone prior to me going there, when I was there and after. Didn't get hijacked on the price. They were caring and understanding in crisis. Made me and my baby girl feel comfortable. Upfront on pricing. Great experience overall from the front desk to the doctors and assistants. Made what could have been nerve racking a pleasant outcome. I am thankful for their help.

The ladies at the front desk and techs are awesome to deal with. They really do a great job given how busy they are. We have had mixed feelings with talking to the veterinarians. They can be very short to the point that comes off as rude.
Tracy Ross
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. My dog needed surgery in the middle of the night and the Dr called me after to let me know she was out of surgery and recovering.

I would like to thank the staff at pet emergency, specifically Brittany and Hannah, for taking such good care of Gracie last week. I was scared, and frazzled and emotional and Brittany bent over backwards to comfort myself, and Gracie. She was an angel in my desperate hour. Hannah went right to work and was honest and so helpful. As you all know , if you are at pet emergency ,it is high anxiety. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience last week, and the compassion they showed for my dear Paddy boy years ago💜 Thank you, ladies, for being there for this community, when we are most in need of a human experience when our animals are sick or hurting.
Britany White
I can't imagine what they go through on the daily. It was a hard day, and I'm really thankful for all the help and care from the crew. Be good to them guys, it's a wait because they are so busy. They took care of my fur baby. I'm so thankful ♡
Jennifer
So sad to see so many negative reviews.. I had excellent service. My dog had the beginning stages of chocolate toxicity and she don't like people she don't know and they handled her perfect and was able to help her as much as possible and stayed with in my budget. I am so pleased with them and would recommend them any time. I am so thankful they helped my Drama Queen ... <3 thank you sooo much
Gregory Benson
This weekend was the first time I used the emergency vet. Every employee was very friendly. They were very kind and compassionate with my dog.
Joy Horn
Excellent wait time. 20-30 mins to be seen and max of 2 hour visit was so great for our emergency vet visit. Thank you! I appreciate you taking good care of my Tuck pup.
Tracy Olson
I have taken my dog Cisco to Pet ER twice now. Each time they were took very good care of my boy, prioritizing his emergencies appropriately. The worst was to help him after a stick implaement to the back of his throat. I cannot thank the staff for their care of Cisco and to me, his worried mom.
Cameron Byars
Took my dog in for a swollen face(bee sting). They took her right in. we were back home in an hour and half, you guys rock! Super friendly, very efficient, and organized! Thank you so much!
Hollea Rastall
they have been there for me more times than I care to count. They are caring, knowledgeable and friendly people. More than I care to count I have had to depend on them in the middle of the night. they understand sleep deprived pet parents. Their 'end of live' care has come up to a standard that just cannot be beat, from the 'private / comfort room' to the 'cremains' you receive when necessary. thanks as always for the great service.
Taryn Claybrook
Sunday night my boxer got very bloated and wouldn't eat and just wasn't acting like herself... I was worried she had bloat (twisted stomach). My husband and I called the front desk and asked their opinion and they suggested to bring her in. On the way there I was reading reviews and was worried about the cost or not being treated fairly...but worrying that I could lose my dog was worse.
We brought her in and she was instantly taken to the back for xrays after they asked my permission. I filled out some paperwork and waited about 15 mins until a dr spoke with us in a room showing us the xray and thoroughly explained everything and gave her recommendation to keep my dog overnight for fluids and observation and repeat xrays. I called my sister, who is a veterinarian oncologist in Seattle, and she agreed. Before agreeing we were showed an itemized estimate with a lowest and highest price that we would pay and they explained what each thing was for. We did have to pay before treatment was initiated which is normal.
I was called the next morning the same time they said they would call and picked her up that afternoon. The dr explained everything that happened throughout the night and showed the before and after xrays. We ended up overpaying by $30 and received the money back on our card when I picked her up. I had a very different HAPPY poochie now:)
Overall my experience was WONDERFUL. Very nice, caring, engaged, and knowledgeable staff. I don't think the price was bad at all for the services we received (not that I put a price for my dogs medical treatment!)
I definitely recommend for an emergency veterinarian :).
Samantha Cross
They were kind and made sure I knew what was going on every step of the way. They understood my concern and was very helpful to getting what needed to be done. Their concern for my dog was amazing to see how much they cared for her.
Kirsten Sikora
They always do such a great job at PET. The doctors and staff are top notch and give wonderful care to the animals. So comforting to have them available 24 hours.
Karen Fairbanks
Ms. Breanna was super nice and helpful over the phone. We didn't wait long for a tech to start the process. Dr. Richardson was a great communicator, all staff were amazing! Even though we were only in the parking lot, we felt and knew Chewy was in great hands!
Johnny Ray
Thank you. You gave me enough time to say good bye too my doggie Rocco. I was really emotional, Pet Emergency took so good care off everything. From time of humanity treatment. Meds to stabilize, then too Eunthanized. It's a very hard time, Rocco was My Kid. You helped me when I had nothing too offer. I'm so grateful! Thank you!
Ken
Recently my 14 year old dog passed away. I was not sure what to do. I called Pet Emergency and they gave me options. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They sent me a card in the mail and made a little paw print on a piece of clay. It is hard when you lose a pet that is like family to you. They made the process easier to deal with. I will continue to do business with them.
Catherine Greene
I had to send my dog by herself to see the vet for an infection. I was kept informed throughout her stay and staff was very accommodating and kind. Thank you PET ER!
Angie R
I wasn't able to go in with my dog due to Covid protocols but with that being said the Pet Emergency Staff was awesome. There was good communication and my dog received wonderful, compassionate care.
Lacie Patterson
My dog got ahold of a porcupine on a Saturday. They got him in and out quickly! The staff was very nice and it was very reasonably priced especially for an emergency vet clinic.
Janette Martinson
We received awesome care from PET for our kitty Bailey and their services are well worth the wait. Remember they see the most serious patients first.😊 …

At 0540 on a Sunday morning, I found my dog shivering, shaking, and unable to walk. Drove straight to the facility, where they placed an IV in him, and worked through diagnoses to an epileptic seizure. He continued to seize for hours, so they medicated him, drew blood for testing, and finally were able to bring the seizing under control. He was there across two doctor's shifts, and several attendants, all of whom showed the utmost concern and care. Each doctor was professional and empathetic, and explained every option and possibility well. The treatment was expensive as he was there for a couple of days, but I have no doubt that Elvis would not have survived without their care and expertise. In the event of an emergency, I will be counting on them again.
Desiree
We were recommended to you by several of our customers! You were able to get our dog, Aminta in very quickly and were very helpful. We will definitely be using again when she needs something. Thank you!
Viivien Horvath
Went in the early morning, to check my puppy out. We got called in immediately. The whole stuff was friendly and super helpful! They called and ask for our approval before they did any additional services!
thornton willis
Great service, everyone had a positive attitude, understanding that emergency vet clinics rack n stack based off of nature of injury, we had less than average wait time. They kept us updated through the process, overall would go back again.
Robert Turner
My pet was aged and had a heart condition. She had to be euthanized. They made the experience more tolerable bt having a special room that was comfortable and "home-like" to administer the drug. A lived pet passing should be solemn and somewhat sacred, not cold and functional. Thanks for easing the process.
Savannah Westenbarger
My cat Radius became very sick with no reason to our knowledge. We live in an area where we had to fly him in. They were very patient with us trying to get things figured out to get him into Anchorage. They called us twice with information within a few hours of him showing up. They were very caring and loved Radius, giving him a lot of attention. The vet taking care of him decided to put him on a specific diet and even brought her own cat food from home to see if he would eat it. Radius will be home tonight (Tuesday) and I cannot wait to see him. They are truly amazing people and animal lovers!
Kristin Hansen
I have gone to pet emergency many times over the years. Have only received excellent and compassionate care. Will continue to go when I cannot get a pet into the regular veterinarian
Carrie Ross
Ver caring and thorough. The wait was loooooong. However, the staff is kind and the veterinarian took the time to explain my pets care with detail and empathy

Service was quicker than originally estimated, and the staff and vet were amazing. They took great care of my boy, and seemed to genuinely care. I highly recommend them.

Alaskan Girl
It is a very long wait to be seen but they got my puppy in when other places won’t accept new clients with pets right now so I am overall happy with that. I would definitely recommend if you are new with pets
Kathleen Macko-Echternacht
It was a great experience for our pregnant cat not quite ready for birth. We can count on their help for sure.

Back in late august of 2019, my dog was sick. We decided to euthanize her once we got the diagnosis to prevent her from hurting anymore, and the staff were very kind to my family and pet.

The only Pet Emergency facility in Anchorage as far as I’m concerned. Professional, courteous, caring and skilled. I have been elsewhere, and the care and professionalism were sub-par.
