i went here to get my 6 month old siamese some shots and a check up. the doctor and nurse were so gentle and sweet to my baby, who was scared and very timid. they were very caring which made her more relaxed than i thought she would be. i definitely recommend this office! thank you for taking time to make sure she was comfortable

I had to euthanize my beloved cat today. It was Sunday, and I waited until 8:00am to call, because doctors are humans too and I wanted to show as much courtesy as I could. Dr. Curt answered my phone call quickly and kindly offered the appointment immediately. Dr. Curt was very caring and thoughtful through this mentally extremely painful process. Thank you, words cannot describe how thankful we are. Now my beloved cat is pain-free. I have been a big fan of Kenai Vet Hospital's fan since 2018 and have only had positive experiences. Ladies there have sincerely loved and cared for my pets and are very professional. They always make me feel welcomed. Thank you for all you do.

The best Veterinarian Office I’ve ever been to! These folks truly care about your animals. It’s such a breath of fresh air. They have great ladies up front who are happy to assist you with your questions and scheduling, while the Dr.s really care and take the time with your visit. They don’t rush it and make sure they hear what you’re saying. They also don’t push medications which is a big plus. I’ve even had them offer complimentary services to our bill instead of charging us for everything. They have always listened to our concerns and questions and are happy to take the time to make sure you understand everything. We highly recommend this office for all pet owners for simple visits or for emergencies.

Kenai Vet was the only vet in the peninsula that was 100% helpful when our family was in a pinch trying to go through the rigorous process of getting three dogs to Hawaii as fast as possible! They were so nice and so helpful and had all of the correct information on hand to help us get through a very stressful time and not having to leave the dogs behind too long! We are so thankful for them and highly recommend!!

They just really go above and beyond to try to be helpful. Vets these days are usually pretty overwhelmed, and they managed to get my dog in within a week to he seen. Front desk staff, vet and vet tech were all very nice and efficient.

The vets are great and they do high quality work. It's obvious that they care about the animals . So the service deserves a 5 star rating. However, they recommended doing blood work that had nothing to do with why I was there , and I asked how much it would cost me because I was on a budget. I was clear about what I could afford, and I was told the tests would cost around $90 . When the work was done it cost me nearly $300. It was because they had to add some sedatives I was told . But if they would have let me know up front I would have waited. They just did the work and then I had to pay a bill I couldn't afford.

My 12 yr old mini poodle woke up with a swollen tooth abscess on the weekend and when i called the emergency line, Dr. Kurt was very helpful and left antibiotics out on the window for me to pick up since they were closed, which helped my dog greatly right away. Then i took him in for his dental exam a week later and then his dental surgery and Everyone there is always so friendly and did a great job with my poodle and making me feel more comfortable about the procedure. Dr.Kurt was great at informing me on what all they did and what to watch for during healing. I've been using kenai vet for all my dogs and cats for the past 12 years and been happy with them.

I rarely wait more than 5 minutes to get my animals taken back, and I feel heard and respected as a pet owner. I’ve been highly disappointed by another vet office in the area before, so I’m very grateful to know somewhere that cares about my babies as much as I do. Can’t suggest this place enough! I had found a lump on my golden retriever. Kenai vet was able to get me in the very next day after I had called. I show up and am greeted with nice receptionists and was brought back to a room right away. I did not have to wait very long. DR. GOSS was awesome! He was warm and welcoming with my dog and just genuinely seemed to love his job. He was able to take a sample from my boys lump that very day. The lump was just a fatty tumor (Lipoma) thank God! But Dr.Goss explained everything to me and was very thorough. I really appreciated this. I highly recommend Kenai Vet😊

Know how to handle bigger dogs like mine. >Other< veterinary clinics on the peninsula have handled him in an unprofessional, fearful way and didn't understand that he needed a muzzle. They muzzled him at this clinic without issue, were perfectly fine with handling his painful spots, and gave him a treat after taking off the muzzle.

I drove down from Anchorage this week with my dog to get his teeth cleaned here, they turned out really good, nice and white, all the gunk scraped off. I drove all the way down due to the fact that it was about half the price of any vet office I called in Anchorage, and also less expensive then a few other vets I checked with on the peninsula. They removed all the extra add on costs that other offices try to charge you for, and only do the necessary work to keep your furry buddy healthy and happy. They were ready when we arrived and my dog was ready for me when I came back to pick him up. Dr. McCartan and Dr. Goss were both very friendly and a pleasure to work with. Front desk staff were helpful in instructing about what my dog could and couldn't do before and after his appointment. I would recommend this office to everyone I know.

As a foster parent for a local rescue, I have tried the other places and keep coming back to Dr. McCarten & Dr. Wisnewski because they are great with the animals and always have the answers. From birth to death of my furry loved-ones, Kenai Vet has always been respectful, knowledgeable, and able to fit us in for emergencies. There is no other option for my family when a vet is needed.

One of the top 5 worst days of myself and my family's life... Had to put our elderly best friend of 16 years to sleep due to rapidly declining health and quality of life.. the staff up front at reception were amazing, kind, understanding and super helpful... The vet whom had to administer the end of life medication was extremely kind and explained everything before he did it... He offered kind words and reassurance...he did everything in his power to make our best friend comfortable and relaxed during her final visit... I highly recommend this establishment for those whom require veterinary services of any kind. We will always be grateful for how our best friend was treated. Update: I just had an emergency after-hours visit with the vet. This establishment is AMAZING!!! I cannot rave enough about treatment of our best friend and myself. The cost was entirely acceptable and he treated our doggie like he would treat his own. Don't hesitate to call this Veterinary Hospital!!!

Kenai animal Hospital has always done right by my animals and me since I moved here from Homer in the late 90’s. Dr Wisnewski has always been fair, especially when one of my dogs needed a hip surgery. I recently adopted a dog that was in need of extensive dental work. He is recovering nicely. I make the drive from Homer to Kenai for this vet. Front end is properly staffed and has professional attitude. Care has always been prompt, straight forward and I leave having accomplished what I intended for my dog. I do a lot of my own animal care at home, but some things require a vet and for those things this place is my top choice. Its no wonder they are sometimes booked out far in advance.

I cannot say enough good things about this vet! We started taking our first dog here when she was having knee issues, the original vet we had her at continuously gave her pain killers and dragged out the issue. Kenai veterinary clinic immediately connected us to who could preform the surgery she needed, within a couple weeks she was back home recovering. I was amazed at how easy to work with and affordable the Kenai vet was and their staff was extremely professional. We now bring our puppy here and it always is a friendly and welcoming experience. The front desk ladies are helpful and nice, and get you back to a waiting room in a very timely manner. We have been patrons of Kenai Veterinary Hospital for over 20 years. We had done business with other vets in the area that weren’t as responsive so when we recently lost both our small dog Lulu and our large Mastiff Sissy within months of each other , they were so kind and took care of the cremation services so quickly for us . I have gone to this vet since 2009 and have never had anything besides good things to say. I’ve referred countless friends and family and have never had a negative report back. I know situations vary and each person is different but I have always been extremely happy with the services provided. The doctors listen and provide excellent care. The prices are great and the staff are always kind and helpful. We had a very ill cat and they helped troubleshoot and encourage in any way they could and when the quality of life was to the bottom they helped us make an educated decision for our cat. They allowed us to stay with him in his final moments and even gave us privacy after he had passed to allow us to grieve. Some time later we received a hand written card that was a pleasant and much appreciated surprise. They always remember us and our critters and I feel like a valued patron. I love that they work with the local shelter too. Nothing but good things to say!

As the owner or caretaker of between 6 and 11 dogs at any given time, I had been the customer of every veterinary practice on the peninsula over the years- until I found these guys. They stand heads and shoulders above the others in terms of cost for services, friendliness of staff, quality of care, and their willingness to accommodate partial payment in emergencies, unlike the rigid refusals to do so I have had from every other vet. They have consistently gone above and beyond to ensure that my dogs receive the best care possible, while working within my budgetary limitations. Everything was overall good experience the staff was nice they were have great pricing, only thing I was a little upset about was being handed my newly neutered cat covered in pee from chest to toes soaked when picked up. I will say although that happened and was upsetting the staff was very apologetic and kindly washed him for me so I didn’t have to smell him the whole 2 hour drive home. My cat seems to be healing great and getting back to normal within 24 hours overall I would recommend this vet

When our dog scratched her cornea running through our woods like the crazed puppy she is, we knew we needed to get help for her. She was obviously in duress, guarding the eye by leaving it shut most of the time. She only let me wash the goobers and debris from the eye with a dampened clothe once, briefly. The white part of her eye was red and we were worried about infection or loss of her sight in her left eye. Kenai Veternary Hospital was the only place that would take her without waiting a day or more. The staff is caring and quickly set up a time the same day. Dr. Wisnewski knew exactly how to treat her and with the fluorescent dye, you could see she scuffed her cornea pretty badly. Doc treated her and gave medicine to help with pain. He is a very caring, compassionate healer. We moved Ellie’s records to K.V.H. that day. I can’t tell you how much we appreciate the whole experience. Ellie got better quickly and is looking good. I met a dog owner at the dog park yesterday who didn’t go in and get care soon enough, the dog got an infection that threatened the eye. ‘So glad we found K.V.H.! Thanks again to the professional staff who genuinely care for our four-footed champanions. Skip and Brenda D.

We are from Palmer, and my toy poodle became very ill while we were camping near Kenai. I chose this hospital because it was the closest to us. I arrived there first thing Monday morning, and was greeted by a very pleasant receptionist. I am sorry I can't remember her name. She promptly checked us in and we were seen by Dr McCartan within 15 min. Dr McCartan explained each step he was taking to examine my pet. His assessment was thorough, and he was patient, and reassuring. He seemed to understand my anxiety and was very compassionate. He instructed me on how to take care of my pet following the visit, administered some medication, and we were on our way within a half hour. I would definitely recommend this facility for your pet. My poodle is doing great! And lastly, I was pleasantly surprised that the payment for services rendered was lower than I expected.

They were very knowledgeable, patient, and open during our visit. Our dog, Duke, is definitely one of the family. We’ve been to numerous vets trying to figure out his skin issues. I felt finally heard, and they’re going to continue to work with us...I’ll update down the road how Duke responds to treatments. I didn’t give five stars just because their in Kenai and with their office hours it’s hard for me personally to get there, but we’re gonna find the time!

Great Veterinary Clinic. I’ve known almost all of the staff there since I was little as my mom has been taking our animals there for years. I miss Dr. Gruber but Dr. Goss has been absolutely amazing in taking over the Veterianry care of all of my crazy fur-babies. And Dr. McCartan along with Dr. Gruber (whom no longer works at the clinic) saved my Himalayan Milo’s life, which I will be forever grateful for. Thank You Kenai Veterianry Clinic.

I love Kenai Vet. We found out our dog had bilateral osteosarcoma the beginning of 2020, by April he was put down. Dr. Grubber was fantastic in helping us manage our dogs pain and helping us make the hardest decision of our dog's life. We will be lifelong Kenai vet customers

Dr. Gruber is very thorough and spends a lot of time with your pet and you explaining things, answering any questions you may have and making sure you have an understanding of your pets condition. She did this each time with me and my dog as his condition developed and got worse. She even didn't mind speaking on the phone with me when I called their office. How many Dr's do that??? I don't know if I'm allowed to put this in here but I changed to them after several bad experiences with my pet and a couple of times of them ripping me off but me having to go ahead and pay it to have care for my animal with a larger clinic in soldotna. The initials of the clinic are SVA. Once again thanks Dr. Gruber!!
