I have recently had to take my furry babies here quite often unfortunately. Although it has not been under great circumstances, Dr Carlson has done everything possibly to help me deal with issues as they arise. This woman is the best vet I've ever had. I think reviews are important so I will elaborate. She is considerate to my anxiety. She takes the time to read my facial responses to things and gives me as much information as she can. She calms me without giving me false hope. She loves cats and this is important if you have a cat - lets be honest - not everyone is a cat person. I missed a call with her in regards to lab work and she was kind enough to leave a note with the tech to give to me- knowing I would call and be super worrried the following day. She takes time - that honestly she probably doesn't have- and explains so much to help me and my husband deal with what's to come. I'm sad, and honestly going broke- having to see her so much. But I wouldn't want anyone else. Thank you for caring for my furry babies and ultimately caring for me.

Cannot say enough good about this Veterinary Clinic. We moved from Ohio to the Alexandria area, and recently rescued our little guy Starsky before moving. We asked multiple friends and neighbors in the area for a Vet recommendation, and Hometown Veterinary Clinic was the #1 recommendation. Very friendly Staff, our Veterinarian is wonderful, knowledgeable, and takes the time to explain everything. They review options and anticipated costs so you can make an informed decision. I've raised and even bred dogs for over 35 years, and worked with many Veterinary services. Highly can give Hometown and everyone there 5 Stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We’ve been going to Hometown Vet for 18 years. Dr. Smith and the other veterinarians are very professional while also being kind and considerate. They have worked with me several times in regards to finances when my two dogs got into a fight. Dr. Smith sought alternate treatments and genertic prescriptions that would address their needs, all the ehile being very compassionate in their care . I would and always do recommend HomeTown Vet.

Being new to the area I really searched for a caring vet practice for my pup! Hometown Vet is tremendous. I love the way everyone interacts with the dog -holding them, helping them, giving treats and outstanding medical care. The rooms are clean and accommodating. I provided some key items I wanted addressed during the visit and everything was covered plus the extra information to plan for future Medical needs. The technicians were outstanding and loving and efficient. My dog responded as if she already knew everyone there. Tiger was quite at home and got lots of TLC! The only rough part was the scheduling of my first initial visit as I was put on hold numerous numerous times over days of calling and no one called me back and I told me they were very busy office without any way to confirm the visit. I can see now why they are so busy! I'm so happy my neighbor told me about such a wonder team of professionals to care for Tiger. thank you for the excellent care at Hometown Vet!!! Best visit ever !

The doctors and staff here are incredible! My dog absolutely hates having his nails clipped and is a challenging patient to say the least. Everyone at Hometown was so patient and forgiving of my pets behavior today during his nail appointment and created such a safe atmosphere. Brian at the front desk is a 10/10, not to mention our sweet VetTech, Nia! So grateful to have found this clinic a few years ago! Frankie loves going to the vet!

The Front Desk made this appointment easy and scheduled my next visit while I waited. Vet was very accommodating and let our Lab sit on the floor for the check up and he was calmer doing it this way.

The whole staff was very nice and made me and my dog hazel feel comfortable immediately. I can tell that they genuinely care about animals and I'm excited to have them as the clinic that will look after my dog for as long as I live in the area. My dog is usually anxious when going to the Vet but she did better than ever being in their care.

I have taken my cat Madison to Hometown Veterinary Clinic for several years since moving to the area, and they have always provided great service. Recently, and unfortunately, I had to make the very tough decision with her Vet to have Madison put to sleep after discovering extensive tumors and cancer. This is always an incredibly tough thing to do, but the veterinarian and all of the staff at the clinic made things a bit easier--they all truly care and were very comforting through this time. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of vet services for your beloved pet.

Banfield contract came to an end (hallelujah!), so it was time to find a better vet for my pup who has idiopathic epilepsy. Dr Smith came in highly recommended from a friend very dear to me. I trust him fully, so I know she had to be pretty great. After reading about Dr Smith I realized we absolutely must meet her. Had our meet and greet appointment this week and it was absolutely fantastic! The amount of noted she took on one piece of paper, all the details related to my pup and his treatments. She answered every single question so clearly, she made him feel so comfortable by playing with him and giving him treats. Thank you, Dr Smith! We can’t wait to see you again soon for our follow up appointment!
