Reviews of Falls Church Animal Hospital
I had the most wonderful experience at Falls Church Animal Hospital today. I wasn’t familiar with vets in the area, so I google searched vets which high ratings and who also operated near my house. The animal hospital wasn’t far away so I decided to schedule my puppy’s first appointment there. And I was not disappointed. The hospital treats illnesses very seriously so they ensured that people wore masks which I appreciated. The staff was super friendly: Sean took great care of my puppy when he weighed him and took him back for his shots. Dr. Stark was friendly as well. She answered all my questions and concerns about my dog’s health and potential vaccinations that he would need. Plus, the appointment didn’t take that long which was a relief. I highly recommend Falls Church Animal Hospital!
I am beyond Grateful to finally find a wonderful and caring place that takes care of my babies!!!! What a pleasant first time experience. We did not wait long, and my cat felt so relaxed. She usually freaks out but not that day. The Vet really spent time addressing my cat weight problem. She was so personable and compassionate as were her support team. We had such a positive experience that I booked another appointment for my other cat!!! They didn't push anything on me, and it was an affordable visit. THANK YOU FALLS CHURCH ANIMAL!!!!!!!
Such a great vet! My dog is quite difficult but they were very accommodating to his special needs and made him as comfortable as possible. It feels like a place where they really care about your animal and aren’t just taking your money. Excited to go back soon and so thankful to have found them!
Our 8 week old Golden Retriever was home for just a couple of days when he developed a rash and was itching, scratching, chewing on himself. We knew we needed to have him seen right away. I called more than a dozen vet facilities to have him seen and everyone was booked out for several weeks. The kind staff at Falls Church Animal Hospital offered to see him the next day for his skin condition as well as provide his first exam and next round of vaccinations. We were sent home with clear instructions and proper medications and are pleased to say that he was symptom free a few days later. The professionalism of the entire staff was over the top. The FCAH has earned our continued business and trust to treat our boy Winston.
I have been taking my pets (2 cats and 2 dogs) to Falls Church Animal Hospital since 1998. All the vets and techs are first rate - friendly, competent, and caring. The front desk staff is amazing. Everyone is so concerned and tender with my senior dogs. I appreciate the efficiency of the office procedures. Thanks for everything!
It has been a few years since I was last here but had the opportunity to visit recently and absolutely love it. Beautiful facility with some of the most dedicated and caring group of professionals that I have ever met. Highly recommend!!
They have always taken excellent care of my golden retriever puppy- we’ve seen drs. Harrington, Yam, and Jacobs and they have always been thorough with exams/explanations for treatment. The staff (vet techs, dental) are all fantastic, as well!
Front worker noted they are always short staffed so they often fall behind when working. Was on hold for 15 minutes before a worker disregarded their process and asked us to come inside.
The Falls Church Animal Hospital is very easy to work with; I was a first time customer, but I was able to get my cat in to see a vet fairly quickly. She had an ear infection that was treated and also had her yearly checkup at the same time. And, because she was a first time patient, the annual checkup was free (which was a very pleasant surprise!).
The vet, along with the vet tech, explained what had taken place and what to look out for in case the treatment didn’t take; happily, she is doing extremely well now with no issues and just as cuddly as usual.
I highly suggest this establishment for your pets; you won’t be disappointed!
The adoption agreement compeled me to spay the puppy before her 6-month of age and many vet clinics have policy that only spay dogs after 6 months. FCAH took me in, did an initial checkup, and scheduled a spay operation. Whole process was smooth. They are expensive compare to other, nearby vets. Lost one star because they only sent me the operation estimate the night before the operation, giving me an impression that they want to lock me in. Lost a second star because the ineffective discharge process, which took me about 40 mins from arriving at the hospital, to actually took the puppy home.
We have been going to FCAH for about the last 12 years with 6 different dogs.
The staff is terrific. In particular, Naomi Wheeler stands out. She is compassionate, communicative and effective. Naomi is always willing to "go the extra mile". Naomi is one reason that we have been such loyal clients/patients over the years.
Naomi, thank you for always paying attention to the details!
My dog was experiencing an allergic reaction. I called multiple vets and animal hospitals but they were all booked up. I called here and let them know about the situation, and they immediately sprung into action. They were able to squeeze us in 45mins before closing. They took great care of my dog and the Dr was very easy to talk to and helped us understand what was going on. The price was great too. 100% would come back.
Due to COVID, I wasn't allowed to go in with my newly adopted cat, but the folks at Falls Church Animal Hospital were great! Excellent communication, prompt service. I was very impressed, as this was my first time visiting them. The doctor called me after the check-up was over and spent a fair amount of time explaining things for me. She even followed up with an e-mail, as she forgot to give me the name of a supplement she was recommending. All in all, I think Ollie is in good hands!
My cat was very ill with a bladder infection and I was worried he would not make it. Falls Church Animal Hospital took him in the next morning very early to see him when my own vet couldn't see me until two weeks later.
They didn't charge me for the visit because I was a new client, and I only had to pay less than 200 dollars to treat my cat, and got a recommendation for a great cat food to switch him to. I can't express how thankful I am to them for their service, and I'm sure my cat would say the same! :)
We've been going to FCAH for like, ever. There has yet to be a doctor or technician or desk staff member we haven't loved. It's obvious to see they love their work and pass that love onto us and our pets. 'Couldn't recommend them more.
I’ve used this vet clinic for almost the entirety of my dog and cats life (10+years) and the staff has been very accommodating and I’ve never been pressured to try a needless product or service. They even found a way to fit us in for end of life services when we were very late for an appointment. There can sometimes be new faces but the vet industry is very hard on mental health so that is likely more a reflection on patient owners being difficult than the practice.
After relocating to this community, our family cat needed established vet care for a chronic condition requiring prescriptives. We were pleased to find a quick appointment and responsive communication. There was one front desk staff member that was probably experiencing an off day and was not direct or warm and cordial. The rest of our interactions with every other staff member and doctor was outstanding. Our cat has the care he needs and we look forward to future experiences proving that the one, less-than-positive, experience was an anomaly.
The receptionist is amazing. She truly cares about pets, was reassuring and worked hard to get my Siamese kitten the same day (through a cancellation) when I had a pressing concern. I highly recommend them!
I brought my 6 month old rescue, Foxy, to Falls Church Animal Hospital when she was vomiting for 3 days and couldn't get her in at our usual vet's office. The lady who I spoked with was so nice and helpful and got a chart started ASAP.
I called the next morning to schedule the urgent care visit and this employee wasn't as nice and interrupted me throughout the phone call, but once I arrived, the vet tech was very helpful and sweet.
Dr. Heinz called me right away with his findings and explained what he was going to be doing and his recommendations. He also called the next day to check on Foxy. I will definitely keep them in mind for any other urgent/emergency situations!
I always have a good experience with Falls Church Animal Hospital. They keep good records and their staff is always courteous and available to answer any questions or concerns. I trust them for my dog's care and wellness and if I moved, I would probably continue to bring my dog here. For those using automated scheduling, I suggest following up to make sure the appointment is scheduled at the time you requested for the services needed. Other than that one issue with scheduling, this is the best vet/animal hospital we've used in Virginia/DC.
I have been taking my small dogs to Falls Church Animal Hospital ever since moving to the area in 2012 and I’ve always had a great experience and felt that they were well taken care of. We’ve seen most of the vets there at one time or another and all of them have been wonderful. One of my pugs is high maintenance with chronic health issues and I have been very satisfied with the ongoing care that she receives. Also, I generally don’t like to board my dogs, but I have boarded them here a few times and have never had any issues.
My dog had a large mass on her back and was previously seen by McLean Animal Hospital and diagnosed her her with a cyst and advised me to monitor it. The cyst got progressively worse after an aspiration. They gave me an estimate for over $1500 and could not do surgery until three weeks out. It was already bleeding and ready to burst.
I took her to Falls Church Animal Hospital. They evaluated her with a free initial wellness checkup. They were able to schedule her within a few days with better treatment and for less money. She also was spayed and is home recovering.
Staff is prompt returning calls and very professional. My other pup will also be a new patient of Falls Church Animal Hospital when he is due for his next visit.
Thank you for taking care of my baby.
D. Barber.
They’re prompt, relatively easy to get an appointment with, and compassionate.
Falls Church Animal Hospital is great! Dr. Stark does a great job communicating and they offer boarding services that are well priced and they can offer better care than any doggy day care could
First time dog owner and Falls Church Animal Hospital has made it so easy! Found their puppy plan to be extremely valuable as we have unlimited office visits. My puppy loves it here and I always feel like they are taking great care of him! I also appreciate that they don't push me to buy his tick or heartworm medication from them if I do find it somewhere else for cheaper. This is a great animal hospital and very happy with them!
We adapted a rescue some years back that had several initial health issues when we started coming to Falls Church Animal Hospital. They have a great annual plan that covers all required shots and checkups under one price with substantial savings. The personnel there clearly understand animals and have always treated our rescue with understanding and empathy, even when she has very high anxiety going to her visits, even holding her recently when we could not attend in person due to COVID19 restrictions. If you want a caring, knowledgeable and cost effective vet for your pet, would highly recommend Falls Church Animal Hospital.
SUCH kind people. Took a wrong turn and it delayed me 15 minutes because of construction. I called them and told them the situation and we had to cancel the appointment, but Naomi the receptionist was so kind and bent over backwards to find me another appointment by the time I finally made it there.
Once there, the doctor and nurses were really patient and kind with me AND my cat Luna and reassured us that everything would be okay.
Excellent service and extremely compassionate people. I don’t mind driving from DC any day for them.
All staff have been exceptionally friendly over the last 3 years that we have been taking our golden retriever to Falls Church Animal Hospital. Our vet has been realistic with us as our dog ages and has never tried to scare us into making any decisions. She is a very good listener and addresses every one of our concerns. The waiting room is always clean, as are the examination rooms.
We absolutely love Falls Church Animal Hospital and can't recommend it enough!! Everyone I've interacted with is so friendly and helpful - and extremely patient with my anxious pup. Special mention to Naomi, who worked magic to help me when I was in a bind - she is awesome!!!
At a time when many organizations are having trouble ramping up to pre-covid service levels, FCAH is doing something right! They are responsive to phone calls and email, they have a system for getting appointments in and out promptly, they follow-up with you, and they seem to know and care about you and your pet. The entire staff was pleasant. I'm leaving this review after really trying to stay with my vet of ~30 years, who I loved. But, with a 2 week appt wait time and 6-8 hours wait time for emergencies/walkin-ins, they weren't finding ways to keep the clients happy and they seemed to think they were the only game in town and/or that every vet was having the same trouble. You know who isn't having trouble? FCAH!
I really want to like them because they are the closest clinic to my house. But I'm not sure if we'll stay. I'm a new dog parent and need a bit more informative communication. For example, I never received a vaccine schedule, and when I requested it, I got a document with information that doesn't apply to this clinic. They also had me worried over a core vaccine that they seemingly missed during our appointment, and only after I called and emailed them, I learned that it was done, but they failed to reflect it in the invoice and communicate it to us after the appointment.
We also had a test done, and I was told they would contact me with results in two days, but they never did, and now I have to follow up again.
I understand that they may be busy with the influx of new "pandemic" pets, but I don't have time for constant follow-ups and searching for the information myself.
On the positive side, they are pretty punctual with appointments, and the wait is minimal.
My dog has been going to Falls Church Animal Hospital for 2 years. We've had a great experience both in terms of veterinary care (ranging from standard immunizations to arthritis treatment to ear infections) as well as a great boarding experience. The vets and vet techs all clearly love their jobs and do great with my pup. I love that they follow up to ask how she's doing after any procedure!
Took my 8 week old Frenchie here after reading some amazing reviews and let me tell you they were even better than I could have ever dreamed of. Dr Yam is very thorough and understanding. The front desk staff and vet techs were so sweet and helpful too!
Nothing makes a new dog parent feel at ease like a reliable vet.
FC Animal Hospital always takes good care of our 11-year-old dog, who is a fairly large, rare breed with sensitive skin, ears, and eyes. When a kennel stay is necessary, we are completely comfortable boarding him at FCAH. He invariably comes out healthy and happy. The vets are professional and responsive.
I've been using Falls Church Animal Hospital for eleven years. They have always provided superior care to my cat, Tabitha. The vet techs are very gentle with my cat (who can be rather combative), and they never express resentment when she acts like a jerk. Every vet there is an expert and a professional. I feel comfortable with every vet there treating my cat. I'm almost always able to get an appointment there on short notice. I never have to wait in the waiting room for very long. The front desk staff is absolutely stellar. I will bring my cat to Falls Church Animal Hospital for years to come.
We recently moved to the area and my dog got a torn toenail. Other vets in the area weren’t accepting new patients for months out. Falls Church Animal Hospital was able to squeeze us in the morning I called without question. The staff were all kind and professional and took the time to listen to my concerns. Highly recommend them!
The employees and Doctors at the Falls Church Animal Hospital are very helpful, accommodating, and caring. I have brought my cat here since I adopted her in 2016 where she has received her shots, check-ups, and dental care. Each visit we have been welcomed in a warm and friendly manner by the staff. The Doctors are great about explaining conditions, procedures, and related costs (absolutes and provisional). The Techs keep my cat calm and ensure that the all Doctors instructions are understood before leaving the facility. A good place to take you pet to get proper care and service.
Hands down the best animal hospital that I have utilized! My dog was in a life and death situation and they made sure she was at the best ER and held my hand the entire time! The doctor's go above and beyond, they answered questions and gave suggestions regarding my dog's care when they were not even working...I could not be more grateful! Their practice manager Shanelle, was very helpful and understanding all while being the upmost professional! Thank you ALL!
We take two of our animals here and have a really positive experience overall - it is clear that the medical staff (vets and vet techs / assistants) really love their patients. The only issues we have ever had is sort of hit-or-miss communication with the front desk - they sometimes are more knowledgeable / helpful depending on the specific person. Make sure to schedule in advance, since this place seems to always be super booked.
Absolutely love this clinic and the staff. I've always felt like family here and they go above and beyond to make sure your furry one is cared for. Even after moving away from Falls Church to Gaithersburg, MD, I STILL make the drive to this vet for my dogs because they are so wonderful and have a great annual packages that I haven't been able to find elsewhere. When you have an appointment that day, they write your animal's name on the cute light up board near the front desk with some kind of drawing-- small touch, but makes it more homey and personal! Without a doubt the best vet I've taken any of my dogs to in 25 years.
I have two Sugar Gliders and one dog. All new to me this year. I have found Falls Church Animal Hospital to be responsive, pleasant and to provide great customer service. Today, I had an emergent issue with Daisy, my dog, and they, despite pandemic staffing issues, found a way to get her in, treat her and get her back out to me. My dog was in pain and they showed genuine concern and professionalism. She is now resting more comfortably at home. Exactly what you want from your doctor.
My wife took our newly adopted Yorkie mix to Falls Church Animal Hospital yesterday for her new patient visit and was extremely satisfied. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Everyone took the time to answer her questions and provided good resources for services we may need outside of healthcare. We are very happy this is the Veterinary Office we chose to care for our animals.
My pets growing up all went to Falls Church Animal Hospital and for the last 20 years I've been taking my own pets there including three St. Bernards and all have had the best care. One of them required a lot of medical attention throughout her life and the FCAH team was very helpful in regards to managing the costs as well as could be while still providing her with the best of care. The staff is very friendly and conscientious and all the doctors are top quality physicians.
Even though I did not go into the office with my cat, I still had a good visit. The tech picked up Elizabeth at my car and the Vet called me with a very detailed description of her exam. He included feeding recommendations and info on helpful toys to watch her weight. I liked this better than taking her into the office myself!! Thank you Falls Church Animal staff!!
It is always an awesome experience at Falls Church Animal Hospital. We've been going there for decades now, and the staff is continually amazing, from the folks up front who greet us and make us feel at home to the folks in the back who tend to our animals with expertise and professionalism. We live in Herndon, where there are plenty of other vets; however, we are faithful to Falls Church Animal Hospital, making the trek with our five cats into Falls Church, because of the care and love the staff at Falls Church Animal Hospital give both to our animals and to us.
Another update: February 1, 2021
I have taken my two senior cats (16.5 yo) over the years when the concierge vet was not available. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, I took both my cats to Falls Church Animal Hospital. Dr. Ramos treated both of them (rabies shot, reviewed the notes I had provided, etc.). She had to deliver some tough news that they both have renal disease. Needless to say, I was a crying mess thinking I was going to lose them. I know they are senior cats, but they hadn't really changed their behaviors so I only heard the worse (not what she was saying I'm sure)! It is a disease we can manage not cure. Dr. Jacobs phoned me on Feb. 1 and said their renal disease is age generated and we need to change their food, which should help them. So much relief after speaking with him. He also answered every question I had, which was many, many questions! I will continue to take my two boys to Falls Church Animal Hospital because the doctors, technicians and staff are all amazing.
I have read some of the comments about the pricing. Yes, it may be higher than others, but the care is spectacular and I would do anything for my pets.
Plus, I appreciate their COVID procedures so much. I feel safe. I hope they feel safe and my pets are handled with care. THANK YOU, DR. JACOBS, DR. RAMOS AND THE ENTIRE FALLS CHURCH ANIMAL HOSPITAL TEAM!

Still 5 stars!!! Dr. Yam and the Falls Church Animal Hospital were able to take my previous kitty in last minute. Ran tests. Took care of him and certainly made him feel better. I remain extremely impressed by the entire team! Professional. Friendly. Caring. Fabulous.
Dr. Rogers and the entire Falls Church Animal Hospital entire team rate 10 stars! They are professional, friendly, kind as well as taking the time to explain what my pet needed and why. I recommend them to anyone -- far and wide!
They have made the first few weeks of owning a newly adopted dog (who came with his fair share of medical issues) much easier and less stressful than it could have been. The staff are all friendly and smart, seem genuinely interested in your pet, have great hours/flexibility (had to make one unscheduled visit in the first week), and great programs to provide coverage (and peace of mind) for the entire spectrum of pet health. Already recommended them to a few friends/family members with pets.
I've been bringing my dog Annue Laurie to the Falls Church Animal Hospital since she was a puppy. I am very pleased with the thoroughness the Dr. Yam and the Vet Techs give to Annie. The Front Desk Staff is excellent and always very welcoming and helpful.
We are new dog owners and had a great experience at Falls Church Animal Hospital! Everyone was very professional and friendly, they are all clearly animal lovers! Dr. Joshi saw our dog and was wonderful with her. Glad we found a vet to trust with our family!
They made it so easy to bring our new puppy in during the quarantine. They came out and brought him inside while I sat in my car. The vet called me herself and walked me through his health plan. She was so nice and I never felt rushed. They took fantastic care of my little guy!
We have been to several local vets. What I like most is how wholly they care for your pets’ priorities first and foremost. We switched to Falls Church Animal Hospital (FCAH) after our cat, who had gotten a gouge on her leg that another vet treated, split her stitches on a Friday night (and our previous vet wasn’t open over the weekend). The vet took her in and fixed the stitches free of charge, with the recommendation that I touch base with the previous vet when they open. I switched my dogs and cats to FCAH right away!
In the interim years, we have taken our pets and our foster animals here, dealing with perhaps every kind of issue one can imagine. They are detailed in their observations, spot-on with their assessments, cost-conscious in their recommendations, and do not push for unnecessary procedures or services.
They probably aren’t the cheapest vet around—though I admit my idea of vet prices was set in rural Michigan, so everything seems very expensive in NoVA—but I have nothing but compliments for their standard of care.
My family adopted Bosco last year and we have been using Falls Church Animal Hospital ever since then. My sister has two dogs and her family uses FCAH for everything so FCAH is now our families' permanent choice of vets. I called one morning with a condition my dog was going through, and even though they were fully booked, they said to come right away. Because of that, I know they really care for our fur babies. I highly recommend FCAH always.
Falls Church Animal Hospital is very clean, the staff is friendly, and they always take good care of my cats. The doctors know their business and recently helped me when my cats wallowed something she shouldn't have. I would recommend Falls Church Animal Hospital in a heartbeat.
FCAH has always been incredibly professional and responsive to us and all of our pet’s needs. We have been with them for over 12 years and been very satisfied with every vet that we have seen. They were especially great with our older lab who was suffering before he passed away. They gave me the cell of one of the vets taking care of him and the dr just spent so much time and care with us. It was so clear that he was hurting seeing our dog suffer as much as we were. They also were so caring after he died and made a donation for us in his name and sent us a sympathy card, etc. They really have a caring touch.
I took my cat to Falls Church Animal Hospital for boarding while I was out-of-town. When I took her home, I noticed that she started getting irritated and kept scratching herself. When I checked out her fur, I noticed some little tiny dots on her just to find out they were fleas (see picture). Also, some of the staff members were very friendly, but some were not professional.
Started taking our pup here after a bad experience with another vet practice. Always friendly, never have a problem getting an appointment, and easy to get in touch with the Dr. if we have questions. Highly recommend. My only reservation is that they seem very intent on making sure we buy any medications from them rather than shopping around, but if they need to mark them up a bit to keep the good service, I'm ok with that.
Been a family vet spot for two generations of pets. Clean and convenient spot where the vets care for their patients. Also accommodated our recent pup who gets nervous at the vet’s office by having him go straight into an office and not the waiting room.
Falls Church Animal Hospital is the best veterinary care my dogs have ever received. They've used routine exams, immunizations, and boarding. Both dogs are 14+, one dog, Fred, is ill, multiple problems, and he's stable on daily care, but I have their back-up when I need them. The other dog, Maggie, is pretty good but stubborn. I must say that, in particular, Naomi has been wonderful for me and my dogs. She remembers us each time we come in, and she remembers to ask kindly about a recent family tragedy. She's wonderful, really wonderful.
Thank you for your care,
Margaret
My wife has been bringing her pets here for over 51 years! I have been coming here for over 20 years. We completely trust these vets and their staff. They have seen us through happy puppy arrivals, worrisome illnesses, and finally, painful deaths. We will continue to use FCAH for our canine family members. Staff kindness and sensitivity mean a lot to us.
My dog has been going to this animal hospital for several years now for check ups and ad hoc medical consultantation and they're absolutely great.
They always take good care of him and recommend great treatment without me feeling like I'm up sold.
One word of advise is to make sure you have or know a 24/7 animal hospital in addition to this for emergencies.
During Thanksgiving weekend, Falls Church Animal Hospital was able to fit me in for a short notice appointment to see my dog. They are not my usual vet but did a wonderful job of working us in, seeing him quickly, and providing a diagnosis. I have used Falls Church Animal Hospital in the past for my cat and will continue to use them in the future.
I took my dog here for the first time last Monday, and they were doing curbside pickup which made me feel safe knowing there weren't a ton of people in the establishment (due to COVID-19).
The service was quick, affordable, and the vet called to ask questions and was so nice.
Shortly after leaving, it appeared my doggo had an allergic reaction to one of the vaccines so we called back right away and they let us know to bring her back, they had the medicine prepped upon arrival and let us know they wanted to keep her to monitor her vitals the rest of the day. Willow (my dog) was fine and they even called the next day to check on her. I am so thankful they took amazing care and attention over my little babe. Couldn't ask for better service!
I was so concerned about boarding my wild German Shepherd for the first time in a new place. I was referred by Andrew C. When I checked the place, I saw how well kept this place was. Naomi at the front desk was so kind and so professional, she immediately made me feel welcome!! My dog had some health issues, and even though I was out of the country Dr. Yam, who I have not met before, made the effort to contact me and to let me know about Maya's condition and what course of treatment she was going to take for Maya. I finally picked up Maya yesterday after 12 long days of boarding her. Maya was beautiful, so well kept and happy. Andrew thank you for your kindness with Maya and thank you also to the rest of the staff for taking such great care of our Maya. I am looking forward to meet Dr. Yam very soon!! Hats off for Falls Church Animal Hospital
Lexie has been a happy patient at Falls Church Animal Hospital for 12 years and going strong. Happy the vets allow us to tailor her annual check-ups based on her history and lifestyle rather than having to just check all the boxes.
We had a wonderful experience with this vet. Everyone was always friendly and provided good service to us and our dog. Just recently we had to make the difficult decision to euthanize our dog. They made the whole experience as easy as possible every step of the way. Highly recommend!
I have a cat that really does not like going to the vet. The first time i brought her here, the doctor was able to work around her viscous objections to being poked and prodded without resorting to sedation, like the vet i was seeing before required (for an extra 300 dollars!). I have always been pleased with every provider that has to deal with my hellcat and my constant apologizing. I highly recommend this office.
The techs were all so helpful and kind. The intake was thorough. The visit went quickly and I was informed each step of the visit by staff. Dr Jacobs is awesome! Check out was easy and she went over all that happened during the visit/how much was explained.
Thank you so much!
Our bichon needed to see a vet while we were traveling. Falls Church Animal Hospital was closed to us and we took a chance. From the initial phone call, where they worked him in during a booked day, to the wonderful treatment our dog got from them, and the free first visit (unexpected!), this was a quality experience. My husband commented, "Can they be our vets from now on?" (Wish they weren't hundreds of miles away.) We recommend Falls Church Animal Hospital highly. If they treat clients half as great as they treated us (strangers), this is a place you can trust with your pet. We're grateful for their caring treatment, exceptional care and superior-quality service.
I've always had a great experience bringing my cat to Falls Church Animal Hospital. All of the staff are excellent in making a vet experience as comfortable as possible for an animal. I definitely recommend them to anyone in our area.
We have used Falls Church Animal Hospital for the past 14 years with both of our dogs. The staff are kind and caring and knowledgeable. When we had to put our elderly golden down last year, the entire staff was extremely compassionate and comforted us and our dog at the end or her 16 year life.
We have changed Vets offices a few times trying to find the right one. We have been to FCAH twice now and have a good experience both times.
The first office visit was free and they gave us important information about our dogs nails.
At the second visit the Doctor we had was very kind, compassionate and professional. She took time with us and gave us options for dog. She followed up with us after the visit to check in on how our dog was progressing and provided additional information.
When calling to ask questions and picking up meds the doctors are happy to answer any questions we have.
The pricing may seem a bit high but when you factor in the quality of care and all the free advise, FCAH is totally worth the cost.
We are very happy with the entire staff.
We have been going to Falls Church Animal hospital for many many years and 6 dogs. Everyone is always so helpful and pleasant. Even when they are really busy, the staff-front desk, techs and vets always take time to answer questions, professional and show the dogs some love.
I would highly recommend this practice.
We have been bringing our dogs to the Falls Church Animal Hospital since 1985. The staff and veterinarians there have been uniformly knowledgeable and caring in their treatment of our dogs. The doctors are good diagnosticians and our current dog goes happily to the hospital whenever we take him. We heartily recommend the Falls Church Animal Hospital.
We have been using FCAH for over 20 years for both routine care and very sick pets, and have never been disappointed. Even during difficult pandemic times FCAH has made it possible to keep up with our beloved pets' care. Thanks for your dedication!
Very educated and professional doctors at Falls Church Animal Hospital. They show compassion, explain conditions/illneses and follow up exceptionally well. Have had the best care for all my kitties for over 30 years. Very kind, helpful and efficient front office, too!
I have been taking my cats and strays to Falls Church Animal Hospital for years. The practice provides professional, timely and compassionate service to both the patients and the pet owners. The vets, vet techs and support staff are always welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend this practice for your pets.
Initially I had my doubts, but over the last two years Falls Church Animal Hospital has taken great care of my Jindo Annabel
The folks at the front desk are a bit rude and after a couple years of it I've had about enough of all that. Its less ag to just take my dog to Caring Hands. Perhaps over scheduled appointments, charged a bit more for procedures than other vets in the area, maybe worth it maybe not. Communication regarding my dog's health has always been good but far too much ag around appointments. Cost fluctuates when you let them know you considered another vet.
By switching vets we are missing out on a chunk of coverage under their Playful Paws program - but I still would recommend the program if you decided this is the vet for you.
We have taken all our pets, dogs and 2 cats, to Falls Church Animal Hospital since 1985 on the recommendation of our neighbor, Audrey Snell. She had high praises for Dr. Rogers' care of her cat. All the doctors, care attendants, and office staff are terrific; plus they all love their patients. My two Llasa Apsos have never been afraid when we go there for appointments.
I'm a new cat owner and Falls Church Animal Hospital made it easy for me to board my cat while my family and I went on vacation. They provided the paperwork in advance and explained to me what I needed and how our cat would be taken care of. Our cat came back happy!
We are new to Falls Church Animal Hospital and I found the veterinarian responsive, he listened to my concerns and came up with an individualized plan for our aging dog. Great experience, I look forward to coming into the facility and meeting the staff in person!
I Have been a patron to Falls church Animal Hospital for 15 years and can honestly say I really feel like a part of there family.besides being treated with the ut most respect the service is superior to any other vets I have ever been to. the customer service alone is superior. I had my german shephard being treated at another local vet the bills were outrageous and she never got better I Took her to Falls church Animal hospital and after the first visit there was tremendous improvement I brought in a stray cat that had many issues and that was also a amazing experience I give Falls church Animal Hospital ten stars for outstanding service and exceptional love and knowledge for there customers
Staff were very polite and helpful, and the vet was wonderful! She took her time and answered all of my questions. So far they've always been able to make a same day appt, too. I found about this place through my roommate, who also takes her pet there and has had good experiences. Also, the first visit is free.
Excellent, caring staff! They are totally committed to the well-being and comfort of their (in my case) furry patients. My cat had a urinary tract infection on a Thursday and was back to 100% by Saturday morning (when he woke me up for his breakfast).
I am new to the area and just visited Falls Church Animal hospital with 2 of my pets. The staff could not have been nicer to me or my four legged friends. Dr. Jacobs did an exam on each of them and the only thing I was charged for was my dogs Bordatella vaccine. I look forward to bringing my other 2 pets to see them in a few weeks. So glad to have found them
We have been taking our pets to Falls Church Animal Hospital for over 25 years and have found the team universally loving, professional and responsive. From letting go of beloved animals to bringing new ones into the family, the doctors and support staff are critical care providers to our continuing menagerie. I especially like the new electronic appointments system, since it makes it so much easer to schedule and manage our pets' health needs. You can't find a better veterinary health care provider in our community.
Our cat was in a lot of pain, and needed dental work. Falls Church Animal Hospital worked with us to come up with a plan that helped our cat but was also affordable. Their communication was excellent - from face-to-face discussions, their detailed quote, and follow-up after the cat's surgery. Highly recommended!
The staff here are always courteous and attentive to my dog's needs. The place is well kept and the services are reasonably priced. I've always left feeling like my dog was in good hands and that the recommendations and diagnoses were as accurate, fair, and sincere. Best veterinary practice in the area.
My family and I have been using the veterinarian services at the Falls Church Animal Hospital for over 25 years. We have always received stellar service and care for a variety of pets. The staff has been most attentive, caring and compassionate. I continue to use the Hospital and look forward to many more years of visits!
I came in to bring my boys (2 of my 3 orange monsters) to see Dr. Amy Yam for their annual appointments, and it was fantastic, as always. We've been coming to FCAH for a few years now, and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else at this point or seeing anyone else. The staff is so friendly, and their doctor is just incredible -- she's compassionate, loving, funny, timely, and never recommends anything that she wouldn't do for her own cats. I just think so highly of her and FCAH; they keep our family happy and healthy, as you can see in the photo which was just taken just a few hours (and a meal) later. Thanks, Dr. Yam!
Dr. Amy Yam was fantastic. I visited the FC Animal Hospital because my dog had blood in her urine. Dr. Yam calmly told me what to do, had my dog stay there for a couple hours so she could get a good clean urine sample and gave me some antibiotics. She has followed up with a phone call on the results of the urine sample and we are taking the proper steps to heal my dog. It was a very thorough appointment making sure my dog was properly diagnosed.
I believe that the staff and vets here put a lot of thought and planning into the care they give our pets - both for medical and boarding considerations. They are good with my dog (who is not the easiest) and I like that I get the results of tests and exams as soon as they are available. They answer my questions and give advice as asked - without blowing smoke.
My elderly dog was fading. They made last minute arrangements to see her on a busy day. There was nothing else to be done, and she came home to be euthanized at home . They were kind and caring and did not charge me for her last visit.
I adopted an older cat, Hank, with some health issues. Everyone was so kind and professional. They gave me several options for treatments and answered all of my questions. LOL they even watched Hank when my car battery died in their parking lot. ❤️ A+++
Very professional and caring service. Even when I visit the hospital to make food or other purchases without my dog, the staff always asks about my pet -- and always by name. It always impresses me that they remember her name. I could not be more pleased with the quality of care and attention they provide.
I absolutely love Falls Church Animal Hospital. I have been going to them for the past 15 plus years. Everyone is very friendly and extremely helpful. Most recently I have had the pleasure or having Dr. Puentes, who is just been great with my sweet dog. Dr. McGrath has also been awesome. BUT really all the doctors are amazing! You can't go wrong! If you're looking for a new place to take your sweet babies, Falls Church Animal Hospital is the place to go!!!
Falls Church Animal Hospital has been our companion through the lives of six or seven cats. We have always been impressed with their efficiency, competence and compassion. They don't over or under-treat our pets and they keep their appointments timely. We've gotten very fond of the vets and staff at FCAH.
A bit pricey but worth every penny.
Our dogs have been under their terrific care for over a decade.
From the staff to the vets, everyone is friendly and professional.
Highly recommend.
I have only been here once, but agree with other people’s posts about a few things that have made me choose another vet in the area.
1. The front desk staff is not friendly. Specifically the two older women who have clearly been there forever. They aren’t very polite, patient, or friendly with customers and from what I witnessed, they weren’t even friendly with each other! The other receptionists were friendly but weren’t front and center which is a shame because they were much more pleasant to work with.
2. They are expensive. I’ve been to plenty of vets over the years and never feel vet visits are cheap, BUT this vet’s prices seem exorbitant. It’s something like $79 just for an exam (I feel $50 is reasonable). And I think the heartworm test was close to $80 as well. Just down the road at Value Vet, they charge only $50 and exam and I think $30 for the same heartworm test (and their staff is super friendly! But I digress...)
3. Quality of care: I do feel that my dog was examined thoroughly but I didn’t feel the dr had very good bedside manner. He felt my dogs lumps and was very straight forward about it being cancer. I don’t want someone to lie about something so serious to make me feel better but there was zero compassion Or care for such a serious diagnosis. There was no sympathy in tone or words. And when your pet is your family, this is kind of essential.
Overall I wouldn’t say STAY AWAY, but I wouldn’t recommend it either. There are better places with friendlier staff and priced more reasonably—like value vet. They are my go to for routine exams and tests.
The staff are so understanding and accommodating. I needed to bring my dog in for an emergency and all of their emergency slots were already filled so the vet saw my dog on what was supposed to be her lunch break. So grateful for all those working here. Thank you for your kindness
We have had to put down two animals recently and Falls Church Animal Hospital people were so kind and caring. It was a wonderful way to say goodbye to dearly loved pets.
I have taken all of my dogs here since I was 13 years old. Five dogs and 22 years later, I'm super happy with the love and attentiveness everyone in the staff gives my dogs and I. Most recently they all fell in love with Scooby and it made his first visit so pleasurable even during COVID. You won't be disappointed with them.
The staff is always so kind and take amazing care of my pets. I really appreciate too that they let you know which treatments are crucial and which are more preventative so if you are on a budget you can make sure your pet gets the care they need, but maybe skip some of the extra items that may not be 100% necessary. Thank you for everything FCAH!
My dog boards here and she always comes home happy and exhausted from all the play.
I have 3 cats, and they have taken such good care of them over the years, and went out of their way in one instance when one of my cats got an infection. They are so kind, and even at their busiest find a way to help and take care of my cats.
We're a long-time customer. Our dogs are always respected and well-treated, and the docs really know their stuff. I especially like their program for yearly "insurance" that allows us to visit as often as we need to throughout the year. Very handy!
Amazing customer service, always reliable and very helpful. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I have been bringing my dog here for 9 years, and my parents have been bringing their dog(s) here for 20 years. I would highly recommend this place for any of your furry friends.
We brought our two dogs here for 4 years while we lived in Falls Church. For the most part, the front office staff was always friendly and patient, and the entire staff showed caring and thoughtful regard for our crazy Lab and high maintenance vizsla.
During the COVID-19 crisis my dog had a tooth abcess on a weekend, although not my regular vet they took my dog in for a quick check up appointment and provided antibiotics for him.
The Vet and staff were remarkable at every turn - what a truly phenomenal vet
We have consistently had good experiences here, particularly with Dr. Jacob and Dr. McGrath. They listen to our concerns and treat our cats with gentleness and respect. Their care has been effective and thorough without adding on extras that our cats don't need.
Very friendly staff. Seen three vets so far and they have been very informative and patient answering my questions.
My dog ate some chicken bones and we were able to get in right away and they followed up with a phone call the next day. The only thing that I really don’t like is that they take the dogs in the back when they give them vaccinations.
Very positive. The staff is very professional checking clients in and taking care of prescriptions and billing. The doctors are also very professional in handling my pets and made suggestions to ease their trauma of going to the vet clinic.
I highly recommend this animal hospital over others that I've used in past.
my fur babies and I are new to the area and finding a good vet is part of our required infrastructure. we read many online reviews before finding a place that sounded right for us. we were right! not only was the place clean and easy to find, the staff and Dr. Schreiver were knowledgeable and kind. my babies are not young and finding folks we trust is key to our peace of mind. thank you FCAH!!!
We’ve been coming to Falls Church Animal Hospital for years. The care and attention our pets have received has always been above and beyond our expectations. We highly recommend this practice!
22 years and 3 dogs- great service and care for our girls!!
I have been taking pets to Falls Church Animal Hospital since the early 1970s when my class Guinea pig (named Sonny Jurgenson by the sixth graders) got sick. All of my own family's animals-- many cats and dogs over all those years-- have received excellent veterinary care and a lot of TLC. And-- as one or another passed away-- the understanding and support was wonderful. Can't say enough for the staff! The Falls Church Animal Hospital is an excellent place to take your pets for care.
May Ohman for the Ohman family
Responsive. Organized. Friendly staff. Time efficient scheduling. Dr. Julia Wolf has always been wonderful with my pets. Highly recommend Falls Church Animal Hospital.
I've been a client since before Dr. Rogers arrived. Currently, Dr. Yam cares for my three cats. My cats have always received the best of care, and I would trust any of the doctors with Fresca's, Ollie's, and Suzy's wellbeing!
Wonderful and very pleasant staff. Dr are gentle and very through exams.
Our pet is very relaxed and at ease with the staff ar Falls Church Animal Hospital. Would highly recommend the this hospital to all.
Amazing vets and supporting staff. All take amazing care of my furry family members. They have ruined all vets for me. This really is the best place to take your four-legged loved ones.
Kind and gracious staff. I receive top-notch treatment and service for my elderly cat.
Great, attentive service. Nice to work with, definitely recommend
We have a long standing relationship with Falls Church Animal Hospital. We are on our third dog, and we would not go anywhere else for our veterinary care. They are, simply the best.
Simply put, Dr. Yam saved the life of my cat, Albert. He had been miserable, and we were considering putting him down. He is a terrible fighter while being examined, but Dr. Yam found a way to treat him. Now, he is in considerably better health. My other cat, Isaac, appreciates his bedfellow's miraculous turnaround.
I have been going to FCAH for more than 40 years. They provide top notch, professional veterinary care. My dog loves to go there and we are always greeted with warmth and compassion. I would recommend FCAH to anyone.
We use Falls Church Animal Hospital to board our dog when out of town. So far we've had nothing but fantastic experiences (over 10+ weekends of boardings so far). We plan to use them for boarding as long as live in the area.
We have been clients (with furry family member patients) for many years, and we always come away feeling that the vets and other staff have done their best by our dogs and us. Thank you!
FCAH has assisted us with the passing of an old dog, as well as the new care and discipline of a 10 week old. We trust them to be honest with us.
I just adopted my dog in October and asked for recommendations from my neighbors where to go. FCAH came up the most and I can see why. From the front desk staff to the vets and assistants, everyone there seemed to genuinely want to put my dog and myself at ease.
We are on our third dog, and we have taken them all to Falls Church Animal Hospital. The entire staff is very knowledgeable, and caring. You cannot go wrong with this vet clinic.
Love the staff and doctors! So helpful and caring! I am updating this post bc FCAH has gone above and beyond for my dog Lily. Lily is frequent flyer with leg/paw injuries from different accidents. Every vet I have seen here is amazing with Lily. I appreciate Dr. Puentes and Corine going the extra mile for Lily this round. Thank you!
My two dogs go here and the doctors/staff always take great care of my boys. They adapted well to 2020 and there was no disruption to their care from Covid restrictions
Falls Church Animal Hospital takes good care of my pets. Their Veterinarians are always the best, and the tech team is skilled an caring. Thank you.
Friendly and knowlegeable staff. They're responsive and always follow up with you on your pet's well-being after any procedure. They care about our 4-legged family members!
They are competent, professional, friendly and genuinely concerned about the wellbeing of my Sheltie, Max. They are also respectful of my pocketbook, offering sound, practical advice while being considerate of costs.
I am so so grateful for this place. Outstanding service from check-in to checkout. Warm, wonderful care of our 3 year old doodle Charlie. Welcome to Dr. Cook!!!
Amazing!!!!! The Staff was so nice to our dog! He had a stomach problem when we came in he was very tired and breathing weirdly and he was throwing up. When we came out he was running an barking and as happy as a clam!
Hospital staff is a hit or miss. Some are great while others are not as engaged, and give conflicting messages and confuse the pets’ parents. Overall it’s convenient and meets the needs so far.
Great, friendly and helpful staff although I do feel that they really do a bit too much to drive the fees up. Meds are extremely pricey compared to other or online places. It you don't have much choice if you have a sick animal.
I have been taking my pets to Falls Church Animal Hospital since 1978. Everyone has always been very caring through all those years. I wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else.
I received the usual prompt, courteous and professional service I have always experienced from the doctors and staff. I am glad that I have always relied on them for all my vet needs.
Only been once, and not inside (Covid), but seemed very nice and the vet had a great phone personality. /And the prices seemed reasonable
I recently moved to MD, and still bring my dog back to FCAH. The knowledge, helpfulness, and compassion are unmatched in every staff member from the desk to the vets here.
Great veterinary practice. Caring staff at every level - from reception to doctors. Excellent systems for managing appointments and follow-up.
All our dogs have loved FCAH over 34 years. We do too: great vet care, good boarding, and a fabulous staff.
Dr Goldfarb and his staff are excellent. I love this new location so much more than the previous place. This is a wonderful veterinarian to take your pets to.
I have been going here for over 4 years and have nothing but good things to say. I never feel rushed or pushed to purchasing anything. Some vets also recommend OTC instead of prescription which I love.
You will feel like family, you & your pets receive personal attention. They have compassion, respond to your needs, and always treat your animals with loving care.
Love these folks. They took care of my cat throughout his life and now they take care of my dog. And they do procedures like dental work while kenneling. I trust them.
Always friendly, professional and helpful. Good place to go.
Great staff! Super friendly front desk and wonderful vets!! They are very responsive which is important. Two thumbs up!!
Great overall experience! Great doctors, staff-- friendly, efficient, sensitive to our pet's needs, saw us quickly, good wait times.
As always, the team at Falls Church Animal Hospital took good care of my two cats. Dr. Jacobs is terrific.
The service at Falls Church Animal Hospital is outstanding. They are professional, caring and true animal lovers. I would recommend them to anyone.
My two cats have been well cared for by the staff of FCAH and don't seem to mind the car ride to the vet. The treats are appreciated by both.
In over 20 years, and four dogs, we've always been pleased with the quality of care from Falls Church Animal Hospital.
We had a problem that needed quick attention and we got in quickly and saw a vet. She diagnosed the problem , gave us the meds we needed and we will return for follow up and future needs.
We've been going to Falls Church Animal Hospital for a few years now and like the doctors and staff. I have never had a problem getting an appointment when I needed.
Very friendly and professional... first visit was free but diagnostics and meds cost over $400... hmmm... not so free...
The front desk, the tech, and the vet were on their game but I'm still reeling from the cost of blood tests... and the results... high white blood cell count... taken the antibiotics ($55) and let us know if he doesnt improve....
They have a really good deal for puppies that covers all the required shots, check ups, and any emergencies for a year, but it's a payment up front.
The most trusted in our neighborhood. We feel always assured to leave our dog while we are away.
Boarded both of my dogs for five days during wife’s pregnancy and delivery. Both dogs returned happy and clean!
As a new resident to Falls Church I was impressed by the efficiency and friendly staff. This will be my pets new Veterinarian, glad I was referred to them.
FC Animal Hospital has seen us through literally decades of cat care and we have always been happy with their friendly professionalism.
Great local veterinarian. Excellent service and caring vets. A little on the pricey side for animal care, but you'll know your animals are in good hands.
Dr. McGrath was very thorough checking out my old puppy (15.5 years old )and very informative. I highly recommend her.
Falls Church Animal Hospital has been our vet for several years now, and they are wonderful.
Very caring people. Helped with Roxie for years plus, Naomi does pet sitting...Definitely,check her out.
Great system in place for COVID-19. Had to wait in the car but the doctor gave us a call to go over everything in detail.
Been with them for over 16 years. Took my old cat over for her final trip. Very compassionate vets and staff.
The best Vet and staff around!!!
Fabulous staff. Dr. Yam is the best. They treat the animals like their own family.
They took great care of my cat! Staff was very friendly and caring. Short wait time at the office
Welcoming staff, friendly vet, and great advice! Will be back. Thank you!
The staff was just as caring and professional as always. I have been taking my cat there for many years. They add that TLC.
I wanted to thank you Tammy for the way you care for me and my family as well as going above and beyond with providing absolute great service
Great, friendly place--top notch vets! Your very loved pets deserve a place like this. You do too!
This place is very good. They working late hours and always ready to help in emergency situation. The stuff is very helpful and nice, and the Doctors are very professional and caring. Thank you!
The vet was helpful, thorough, and informative. Everyone we've interacted with has been friendly and polite.
Very accessible, easy hours for working people, quality care, equal oppty for cat owners! Dr. Amy is the best!!
Friendly staff! Along with an annual exam for my pup, her nail trim was well done.
Knowledgeable, helpful vet and friendly staff, and a comfortable environment. We had a great experience here, and we highly recommend it!
Always welcoming and caring. I have been a happy customer for my cats! Highly recommended
Quick appointment, friendly service, good advice. Cats seemed not to like it so much, but my wife and I were very happy.
We always receive wonderful care for our dog from the staff and doctors at Falls Church Animal Hospital.
Dr. Yam is the most caring and conscientious doctor and I feel so blessed that my dog is in her care.
They "really" care!! Been taking my animals there since 1970s!! Naomi at the front desk is so caring and accommodating!!!
I love everything about this clinic. They are kind and extremely responsive.
Highly experienced doctors. Not a strip mall veterinary clinic. Always go with a hospital as your primary vet care, not clinic.
Wonderful Staff! Professional, friendly, and very caring about the animals.
Falls Church Animal Hospital staff are the best! They make my cat feel like a lion!
Really liked the vet, front office and whole feel of the place. Very friendly and reasonable prices.
We've been taking our cats here for years and love the vets and the rest of the staff
Have been taking my 3 dogs there for many years and the personnel their are extremely friendly and always looking to help out.
Best place ever!! Loved working with Dr.Rogers and Jacobs, best bosses ever!! Miss them from Texas I say Hiiii!!!😘🙏😢 …
Excellent and friendly service. Our dog actually enjoyed the visit!!!
Nice experience, great staff, they treated my little one as I was expected.
I'm planning to return.
Everytime I have been here has been great! Everyone is so kind and loving towards my pets.
Great doctors with high level of knowledge. It's a bit pricey which is the only negative.
The staff here is amazing. They provide great care and make room for emergencies.
We've been going there for 6 years now, great service. Thank you for keeping my Sunny healthy.
This place is awesome. All of the staff and Vets are excellent - well trained and caring.
I found FCAH through a neighborhood list-serve and very pleased with the find. Competent vet services.
Always good with my dogs. Seems like quite a few with cats visit too.
I miss Dr. Rogers but still like FC Animal Hospital!
We've used them for 6 year, and they have been great
Boarding check doesn’t work in Sunday, so you can’t drop or pick up your pet then!
Staff were friendly and attentive.
Best Staff! Great packages! Amazing Practice Manager!!
They take good care of our cat, who thinks he's people.
They love your pets as much as you do. Always perfect service.
