My dog was a bit nervous in the waiting room but as soon as she came out from getting a shot she was so happy and all her nervousness was gone! I don't know what they did to her or what magic treats they have but it was so wonderful to see her in a good mood! I didn't know a dog could have a good time at a vet. 100% so happy to call Manzano our vet!

I've only had great experiences here! The staff really seems to care about my doggies and clearly shows that they understand how important they are to me. They go out of their way to ensure my pups can get in for emergencies as quickly as possible and make the whole process really simple. I moved way across town from their office but happily make the trek because I know my dogs will get exceptional care here <3

Abby, our 8 year old German Shepherd, had a great first visit with Dr. Hoshen and the vet techs. The visit was perfect. Upon arriving home, we went to the online pharmacy and purchased medications which was convenient and reasonable with several cost saving discounts.

The clinic and staff were top notch for our first visit. - The clinic was well run, everyone we interacted with was friendly and attentive. - The facility was clean and orderly. The tech who did our intake was wonderful: great at handling the dog, engaged, listening, knowledgeable, and relayed our info and questions to the doctor accurately. The doctor was excellent. She spent time with us so we could ask what we wanted, noticed details about our dog, explained our options so we could make informed choices. I got a personal call back not 2 days later with the blood test results from the vet herself! I couldn't tell you the last time a human's doctor did that.

I've been going there since it was a "one-horse" clinic, in 1975, with my first kitty. Now, many kitties later, I have trained many vets (kidding), but my history includes receptionists Dee, Suzanne, Michelle of the old days, Dr Rollag, Drs Jackson, Coons, Southwick, Whaley (I think her first challenge was spending the night saving my new pound kitty's life - she earned the privilege of becoming our "primary care" cat-ician). Can't say enough about the great treatment my "children" and I have received over the years. 1 Comment Like Comment Share 1 Comment Active Wendy Vorhees Lippold 2022 follow-up: still a Manzano-er though the faces have all changed over the years! Great to still see Michelle who went from Dr Whaley’s asst to Clinic Manager! Miss Dr Whaley but now the kids see Dr Erickson! Things have changed so much no thanks to covid and working hours. It was so wonderful when the weekday hours went to 9:00pm, (at least two of my cat’s lives were saved during that time), they had Saturday hours and while one of my kitties was an “inpatient” the vet tech kindly

Very positive experience, got my little Apollo in and the doc was able to set me up on a Paw Plan which is honestly less expensive and provides great value. Sure there is a little bit of a wait to get in, but with pet parenting, a proactive approach is more pragmatic than waiting until the last minute. I will be going back to get Apollo’s teeth cleaned and a couple teeth extracted.

I've gone to Manzano Animal Clinic for several decades with many of my Welsh corgis that I've had over the years. Doctors here there have come and gone, but never wavered was the professionalism, cleanliness, friendliness and kindness that' I've experienced here. I've said forever goodbyes to many of my old canine family members here, as the staff patiently sat with me through my grief. Surgeries, teeth cleanings and checkups were done here with the greatest of expert care, love and understanding. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves their dogs and cats.

Great vet. Wonderful service and great staff. They seem to really care about the animals and understand how complex it is to care for a senior animal. I never feel pressured into more expensive treatments, but also feel like Dr Erikson explains all my options and what each can/will mean for my pet. The office is clean and maintained. I brought my 13-year-old Chihuahua Yorkey mix it to have her teeth cleaned. Being older, I had some concerns of having her put under for the cleaning and the pulling of some teeth. The staff reassured me they take all the needed precautions to do a professional job at cleaning her teeth. I picked her up in the afternoon and she was a bit groggy but responsive. She ate that evening and the next day was feeling quite well. And this was despite the pulling of two teeth. She has recovered nicely and has gained her appetite and energy level. The staff gave very clear instructions when I picked her up and reassured me again that if I had any concerns, I was to give them a call. I would highly recommend this clinic and their staff for anybody that’s looking for reliable and caring veterinarians.

We have been taking our dogs to Manzano Animal Clinic for over 17 years. Our first dog was with Dr. Obrian for many years until he retired. We got Simba and Shiri Hoshen has been his vet for 5 years since he was a puppy. I have always appreciated the way I'm treated by everyone there from the front desk to seeing the vet. I'm even more appreciative of the way they treat my dogs even when I have to leave them for a reason. We are really happy with Dr. Erickson! She is so kind and patient. One of our dogs has issues with chronic allergies and skin inflammation. She has taken the time to really work with us to find solutions that make sense for our family. This has been a long term problem we've dealt with for several years, and I feel that Dr. Erickson has always been very supportive. I never feel pushed into making decisions that might not work for our budget/goals of care for our pet. She respected our decision not to pursue specialty consultation. I wanted a middle of the road approach that focused on the comfort of my pet, and she was willing to work with us to find it. I take my two dogs here and I find them very good. They offer a yearly plan that includes basically all the maintenance care (shots, teeth cleaning, check ups, etc), which helps spread those expenses out over the year. Vets are competent, kind and cordial. Hard to find better for the money

Manzano is doing a wonderful job getting clients in while minimizing exposure to their staff. I’ve been in for a few emergencies and they’ve always been able to fit my pup into their schedule and are very responsive and communicative. I can be a bit of a pain of a client because I want everything explained in detail, and Dr. Erickson is always super patient with me and helps explain anything I ask. Also shout out to Leah, one of the lead veterinary nurses who always goes above and beyond to love on my pup!

The vet was nice but I really needed a list of the daily regimen for my dog just like my doctor does for me but that aside very informative. But I'm finding out there prices are exceptionally high for a dental cleaning and x-rays for a senior dog needing preventive care as he ages.

I came to this practice 5 years ago after being referred by a friend. I live in Corrales, but don't mind the distance, given the quality of the care Manzano has given my dogs and cats. I've been able to establish a relationship with one Veterinarian and am usually able to see her with enough notice. It feels as if they make the effort to know me and my pets. That's made me able to rely and trust the care and opinions their vets offer to me. The doctors and staff are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I feel that all my questions are answered before I leave my appt. It's been important to me that Manzano has up to date equipment and their facility is spotless. While they are definitely an upscale practice, I feel that they are considerate of me and often offer multiple treatment options when and if possible.

In the few instances we’ve had to see a vet ASAP, we’ve seen other vets at the practice and we’re just as satisfied. I highly recommend the paw plan as well! Unfortunately I had to move on to a new vet clinic because every time I call to get my furry kiddos in they have no availability for weeks. I felt like I needed to call a month in advance to get in. With all the juggling in life as it is I found it that they don’t have flexibility on their scheduling. My pets have been going there for years, they have great doctors. Fortunately, I was able to find a great vet clinic that has more flexible hours and that are open Saturdays as well which helps for those of us who work all week.

I have a 25 lb dog that had a new patient appointment for a physical and shots. The clinic allowed me to go inside with a mask, which I appreciated. They took us both into the exam room, then took my dog to the back for his exam and left me in the exam room. I was fine with that because I trust that vet professionals know what they're doing and will take good care of my animal. They brought him back to the exam room and told us to wait for the vet to come in. My dog is skittish, so I expected some level of stress from him when he's in a new place. I was petting and reassuring him when I noticed that there were droplets of blood on the floor that looked fresh. I looked at his foot and there was blood all over the top of it, so I was checking out his foot to figure out where the blood was coming from. It turned out that the vet cut his dewclaw so deep into the quick that the blood was just free flowing. Now, I had to learn how to cut my dog's nails correctly, and I have nicked his quicks before, so I understand that accidents happen. That said, I have also learned how to cut his nails short without ever hitting his quicks or making him bleed. I took issue with the fact that she cut so deep into his quick and didn't double-check that he wasn't bleeding before sending him back in and making us wait. I ended up asking her to clean him up as soon as she came in, and the rest of the experience was positive.

Dr. Hoshen , Dr. Darbie, Leah and Andrew were there when my cat had growing lumps on her mammary area. Dr. Hoshen is her general doctor and Dr. Darbie was her surgeon. I am new to town and was nervous about finding the right place for my cat but this clinic is the best in town. They are never pushy with medications or treatments. Always very transparent. They are always very helpful, thorough and understanding.

I was taking my dogs to the annual check-up back in June, and thinking that it's been more than 15 years that we've had Dr. Whaley as our vet. I was thinking that during that time I had several physicians for myself and who knows how long the current physician will last. My dogs (10 and 6) and cats (14 and 13) are the lucky ones in our family. They have always been taken great care of. Everyone at Manzano clinic is always very helpful and extremely friendly. I have all the confidence in Manzano Animal Clinic, as we have taken several pets there over the years. They strive to be compassionate and to give superb care from the minute you come through the door. My little dog and I are treated with courtesy by the receptionists, assistants, and doctors who spend time making sure my dog's health is the priority. The whole veterinary staff are very attentive. This last visit they shared the different options available for his care but didn't push anything on me and I appreciated this. The doctors always inquire about my little guy's personality, too, not just their immediate health. My dog is held, comforted and talked to.This is a great benefit as he is a little Chihuahua with nerves of Jell-O. He is always offered a treat, too. I am given ample time to explain my concerns and ask questions. Appointments are easy to make. I made this last one at their website, never had to use the phone, and was responded to immediately with a confirmed appointment. Two other things that impress me greatly: They are very clean and sanitary. As I sat in the waiting area I could see the assistant wiping down the room I would be called to. She wiped everything down multiple times with her spray bottle, leaving nothing of the last patient behind. I also have observed with every visit that they often mop the floor whether there has been an accident or not. I trust their care and have no reason to go elsewhere. They also have a rewards deal. I told my daughter how wonderful they were so she took her little dog there and we both got a $25 discount for the next visit.

I have been going to Manzano Animal Clinic now for 5 years for my animals; Manzano has always been there for me. I love them! They are able to set an appointment for me sometimes same day, sometimes within a couple of days. If I have an emergency, they can get my animal in during the same day. The staff is very friendly, professional, efficient and extremely courteous. The inside of the building is always clean, neat, and what I like most, is that it is not a wild zoo. No pun intended. There are usually no more than three animals to be seen at one time in the waiting room. The outside of the building is kept clean; even when trees are dropping their leaves, the outside of the building is neat. I can't say enough about Manzano Animal Clinic.

I've been taking my dog to Manzano Animal Clinic since I first got her back in April of 2012, and have had nothing but outstanding experiences every single visit! 8 solid years, with 2 visits (at least for regular checkups) every year; the fact they have been able to provide stellar service to myself, and more importantly to my dog, is a true testament to every single person's dedication and love for their job! I have also yet to see a "stereotypical" irate customer, which I do find somewhat surprising... but at the same time not surprising at all. Simply because of what I previously said: everyone working there is genuinely kind and caring to whoever comes in, be they 4-legged with a tail or not. They're nice to the pet's owners also! (Ugh, cringe joke) I can't speak about every Doctor there, as I've only ever had appointments with Dr. Wildgoose-Lister, better known affectionately as Dr. Bree. From the very first visit with her, both myself and my dog decided she was the Doc we always wanted to see. Every appointment or interaction with her is always a pleasure, even when the visit is not exactly under the best circumstances. She is easy to talk to, explains anything you may want to know in an easy to understand way without being condescending, and is overall enjoyable to be around. While my opinion of, and experience with Dr. Bree is outstanding, I'm sure any pet owner can agree that what we think comes second. The most important thing, and the area where she truly demonstrates what an amazing Veterinarian she is, without a doubt is her interaction with her "patients". The word patients is actually unfair to use when describing the animals she works with and treats, because it is obvious she sees every one of them as a part of her family. She truly cares about the pets she works so hard to help, they all simply love her! I can say this with confidence and pretty much as fact, because I'm lucky enough to have seen her with many different animals, each with their own unique personalities and "quirks". And regardless of what those quirks and personalities may be, she treats them all with the utmost care, compassion, and concern for their wellbeing. I'm sure if any of the pets she has helped could speak, they wouldn't need to waste time with any words; they'd simply express a feeling, a feeling that is certainly the best there is: love. As I said earlier, I have not had an appointment with any Doc other than Dr. Bree, but I honestly believe that every Doctor there is excellent; it's hard for me to think that everyone at Manzano would be consistently amazing, but have any Doctor there not be on that same level. I could quite easily go on for a long time about how wonderful everyone here is, but would be unable to fully do them justice. Manzano Animal Clinic is, absolutely without a doubt, the best Veterinary Practice I have ever had the immense pleasure of working with! Regardless of the reason for bringing in my own, a friend, family, or neighbor's pet, I know it will be the best experience possible. If you are looking for a new Vet, or your first, you will be hard-pressed to find a better Veterinary Practice than Manzano Animal Clinic. One final thing to know, would be the changes that had to be made for everyone's safety during the current COVID-19 Pandemic. Even though the normal process has been altered for safety, Manzano Animal Clinic has done extremely well with making the visit for your pet as easy as possible, for everyone involved. They are, unsurprisingly, very consistent with the new process; easy to understand instructions are given when an appointment is made, and it all works quite smoothly. After having made the appointment, I knew what to do and expect, and was relieved to see every step of the "COVID process" executed just as I had been told. During this stressful and exhausting pandemic, the last thing I want is to be extra worried or uncertain about the level of care my dog will receive. Thankfully, Manzano has implemented a great system for everyone!

Overall good vet office. Doctors seem to care. The scheduling has gone to an online system which I have been using for at least a year or more. I have yet to be successful in using online scheduling because everytime it says my dr I'd booked out a month or more. I end up calling the office and they get me in within a week. That's my biggest deal with them. One more thing and I believe it's normal across all vets is the cost of doing blood work. I can't take my pet in without it costing several hundred dollars. I have to save up to get any blood work done. Everything else seems reasonable and comparable.

I'm shocked with the number of negative, recent reviews for Manzano because we've had positive experiences with 3 of the vets here, dealing with initial low weight, parasite treatment, vaccination requirements for boarding and training classes, and neutering services so that he can attend day care. As a dog owner, we have kept strong records of symptoms, visits, and developmental milestones, which has aided the proper care of our puppy. We did have a misunderstanding in regards to the terms and conditions of the paw plan, which the hospital director, Michelle Chapman, was very professional and thoughtful in responding to so that we could reasonably determine an agreement on how to proceed. Currently our main vet here is Dr. Darby, but we've met with Dr. Shiri and Dr. Nick as well. In all of our visits, we were never rushed, and the vet answered all questions and concerns, as well as took their time in treating our pup.

My older dog has been going to Manzano for ~14 years, and the rest of my fur family is seen there as well. The staff and doctors - we primarily see Dr. Bri but everyone there is wonderful - are always tolerant of my and my babies behavior, and take the time to explain in detail what is best for them. The paw plan tailored to my dogs ages is affordable and provides extra services. I never feel like I'm paying for services I don't need, and the office has worked with me when my dogs had to have emergency surgeries; which were not cheap, but very reasonable compared to other veterinary businesses. My older dog ate a rock that lodged in her stomach, and almost exactly 1 year later my new puppy swallowed part of a toy that lodged in his intestine. They both came through with flying colors; although my now almost 2 year old still tries to swallow everything... I was very upset taking my older dog in for her recent dental visit because she's old and frail, and I was really emotional about her going under anesthesia (she was perfectly fine). Having someone take the time to "talk me off the ledge" was greatly appreciated. My dog's frailty and sensitivity also improved after her teeth cleaning and extractions, so I'm assuming she was in pain before hand. She obviously received excellent care and is a little more active with a little more attitude. I'm just extremely grateful to have Manzano taking care of my babies.

This is a bit of a tough review to write, but I do want to at least give the staff here credit for their attitude and understanding during a tough time. One of our dogs was incurably sick and had to be euthanized. Throughout our entire time there, they told us very plainly what the process entailed, gave us as much time as we needed before and after the procedure to say good-bye, and were very understanding the whole way through. Nobody ever wants to be in a position where they have to put down one of their pets, but the staff here at least let him go painlessly and quickly, and I can't thank them enough for it.

She's so gentle that our dog--who was previously very fearful of going to the vet--actually doesn't mind going. I cannot believe how laid back he is about the process now considering how trembly and barky he would get at all of the previous vets we've visited. Our original visit was to schedule a teeth cleaning and I could not believe what a great job they did--our dog's teeth look brand new. It's a scary thing to go through. The veterinarians and staff have been great. The challenges during covid make everything more difficult but they have handled new safe procedures etc very well. Our other two dogs have done well with Dr. Darbie and Dr. Hoshin. We are grateful for their insurance plans too.

This is by far the best clinic I have been to for my babies in Abq. They even called my angel a baby too! She had severe dental issues and not once did they treat me like a bad dog mom, but instead gave compassion and understanding being as she is a rescue. They are very kind and go over every detail with you along the way. They offer a payment-plan type thing you can sign up for monthly (for select services) and are more than willing to work with you. The kindness and love they showed myself and my sweet doggie was just wonderful. Some say they are more expensive, but I have been to another (I wont name them) clinic who charged me just as much, if not more, without the compassion you can find at Monzano Animal Clinic. These employees geuinely care about the well being of your pet and you. I couldnt be happier with my expeirence! My little girl is the most happy lively dog I've ever seen after surgery. Since I've posted this, Dr. Haines has long retired. The level of care of my Chihuahua is still very high. I still recommend Monzano. We've been taking our Chihuahua there for years. They're a wonderful staff. Dr. Haines saw our little boy the last couple of visits. He's very gentle. If Norman Rockwell painted a veterinarian, the human subject would take on a Dr. Haines quality. They also have a vet that specializes in canine dentistry. I have no problems recommending Manzano.

I finally found Manzano Animal clinic, Dr Whaley was the best we had ever seen. She found out what he had and treated him and us with the best care we could have found.
