This clinic is always fast and friendly. My cat had an annual exam and feline leukemia vaccine and we were in and out in 30 minutes. The Staff was also patient in coaxing my cat to come out of the carrier and were not rushy at all and I really appreciate that!

I took my Red Ear Slider in for her yearly check up and to have her x-rayed to make sure she was not retaining any eggs. They were very gentle with her and I received the radiology images via email. It was a thorough visit and Dr. Vivian even trimmed her toenails for me. I wish they had more reptile vets, but I appreciate all the care and concern they provided for Floatsam.

Had to take my dog, Harlow there yesterday as her hip had popped out of the socket and she also had developed some tumors. Sadly because of her age and condition she had to be euthanized. The staff there was just wonderful with her. And me. So kind and gentle...brought her in treats. Allowed me probably an hour before and after the procedure. I highly recommend them.

I inherited 4 dogs after my brother's unexpected passing. In trying to honor my brother's memory I have had the dogs checked out by the vet and am giving them extra TLC. We had a follow-up up this week. My dog's medicine was not called in. I asked about it and was told I will hear back before week's end. Poor pup, 10 days later, still nothing. Searching for a new place to get the proper care in a timely manner.

Love the Vet and Vet techs here, actually moved here from another veterinarian clinic and have not regretted it yet. Everyone is kind, knowledgeable and patient with any questions you have about your pets. Even on busy days the wait to be seen are not unreasonable.

My dog is in pain and needs some teeth pulled. The appointment isn’t for almost a month and a half. With todays’s leadership, costs rising, and hours being reduced at my job. We need to get the money, and to beg, borrow, or steal (a familiar phrase) to have funds so I could Help him if possible to get him to feel better. I feel miserable, and I know it’s all my fault. I’m the one, as his owner, has the responsibility. I know I have to be able to pay for their care, and have the funds available. Everyone there is very nice. There is nothing they can do to get him in earlier I was told. I’m not at all saying there is any problem with the company. I don’t have any problems with their customer service. I have never had issues dealing with their staff. Very nice people.

Our kitten was adopted and came to us from the shelter with an eye infection. Unfortunately our kitten had to have his eye removed. Cottonwood Animal Clinic took such good care of our boy. They also took great care of us because we were devastated that he was losing his eye. We are grateful for the care he received and that he is home with us now.

They're the vet we took my childhood dog to and now my current dog. They are the friendliest and most helpful professionals and they go above and beyond to show that they care for our pets as much as we do. They listened to all of our concerns and worries we had for our dog getting spayed and they went over details and procedures as many times as I needed for comfort and reassurance. Great clinic! One of my dogs got a scratch in her eye and it was red and very irritated. I called our normal vet as well as ten others and could not book an appointment for a same day visit. Luckily Cottonwood was able to get me in and was not far away from my home. We saw Doctor Cimbal who was excellent! My one gripe is that the waiting room is very small. A fairly aggressive dog came out of one of the rooms and tried to attack mine and a few other dogs in the waiting area. If your pet doesn't do well with other dogs in close confines, this may not be the place for you.

We took our 14 year old chihuahua there. I called and they got her an appointment in 2 days. The lady on the phone was so nice. The vet was very professional. The only thing that was expensive was the medicine. We left with paying only $170.00 which is much better than the last place we took her. It cost us $700.00 at another place to have her misdiagnosed. I will be taking her to Cottonwood Animal Clinic from now on. They were awesome. .

We are new to the area and finding a good Vet clinic can be challenging, so I feel like we hit the jackpot. The staff is polite and always willing to answer questions or address concerns. Dr Sun is our Vet and she is amazing. We have a new rescue pup that is HW positive, something we've never dealt with before. This place seems to be the most reliable every time I need to schedule vaccines, microchip and a stay or neuter for my cats. They are very friendly over the phone and in person. They conduct follow calls and appointment reminders. If you miss their call, they will attempt to call you back to make sure to remind you about upcoming appointments or if they have any questions about your upcoming appointments. I can rely on this place to get scheduled sooner rather than later when all other local vet clinics don't even answer their phones much less have availability months out. It's a bit pricey but it's worth it for the overall quality and value.

Such an excellent experience here, even during these more restricted times (due to COVID-19). My older dog was at ease immediately and the vet and techs were so thoughtful and responsive. Highly recommend. September 2021- I think it is important to update this review. I wish I didn’t need to, but it is easy to love a vet when we take our fur babies in and see that our pets will recover. When our girl, an Aussie with the biggest heart and sweetest disposition, started getting worse and worse with cancer, Dr Sun showed her the ultimate compassion. She helped our dog die with grace and dignity with her family around her. She let us take the time to grieve and explained the process to our kids who hadn’t experienced the death of a pet in this way. I will always grateful to Dr Sun for those last minutes with our girl and for giving her (and us) the gift of a gentle death. If you’re looking for a vet that’s right from birth to death, Cottonwood Vet is the right choice.

I am so happy we switched vets! My dog, Ghost, was limping on her back left leg, and when I had taken her to our previous vet was told three times that she just pulled a muscle, despite it lasting for two months. During this time we ended up moving to Rio Rancho and took her to Jolene Sun at Cottonwood, and I am so happy we did. Our concerns were actually listened to, and after x-rays we discovered Ghost tore the tendon in her leg and needed surgery. She recommended the type of surgery and sent us onto the surgery center. Recovery is going to take some time, but it makes such a difference to have a vet who actually listens to our concerns. While I am disappointed to say the least that our previous vet failed to catch this, I am relieved to have found a vet I can trust.

I've only had positive experiences with the vets, techs and staff. We had two of our dogs need urgent care recently. Both times they discussed options with us and showed our pups a lot of love. My 14 y/o toy poodle needed emergency surgery and the cost was very reasonable. I now have the most expensive piece of landscape granite on display in my rock collection, but I also have my baby boy thanks to the care and attention he received from the staff here. I'll continue to recommend them to anyone looking for a great vet.

Dr. Forsythe has been my vet for a number of animals, yet I’ve seen many others do to emergency hours and such, and vets prior to the 19 years I’ve been with him. He is BY FAR, the best veterinarian I’ve encountered. He’s kind, reasonable, knowing, and just so good with animals. His staff is awesome and attentive as well. You won’t find a better veterinarian.

I was extremely worried about our newest member when she began having a bloody stool and was unable to hold food down, especially because at 10weeks she was exactly weighing only 1lb. This clinic took our call at 2:30pm and made room for us at 3:00pm due to our pups possibly serious condition. They were extremely busy when I arrived but my puppy was taken immediate care of despite not scheduling ahead. I am extremely thankful to have found this clinic and thanks to them our pup is healthy and happy now. We have of course continued to take all our pups here for their care.

When I needed an urgent visit for my cat after he was attacked by a hawk or owl, I was able to get same day exam and treatment here. The staff were very friendly and caring and I was glad there was an injectable antibiotic that helped keep infection down and he needed only one stitch and done. I was super grateful for them being able to accomodate me. My Zink is thankful as well. He is fully healed and already playing and climbing like an expert!

From the standpoint of getting an appt same day due to a cancelation to finished consultation, the clinic is great for us. Friendly staff, knowledgeable tech, professional and deeply dedicated doc (we had Dr. Mike and his tech Michael). We will be bringing all our pets here from now on. I recommend this vet clinic for the above reasons as well as their listening skills which are hard to find these days. Our issue was an ACL possible tear with our dog and the doc gave us three options (no sales pitch) as well as a 14 day Rx for pain and inflammation.

Great care and concern for our safety and such wonderful service. Only 1 person allowed in with pet, then you have to wait in your vehicle with your pet until staff come out to you. So much extra work for them but still very pleasant. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

We used to go to Taylor Ranch Vet, who referred us here, and I am so thrilled they did! Our 2 1/2 yr old pup jumped into some chollo cactus (OUCH) and the spines were all the way up her legs. over 100+~~~ Dr Cole spent over an hour pulling them out with me......she was so kind and patient. We immediately transfered all her puppy records to Cottonwood ~ and never looked back! Taylor Ranch told me to shave her hair first and that they would only give me 15 minutes tops! We are so thankful for Cottonwood, we've seen them now 2 more times, and always pleased with our visits.

Our first office visit went well, Dr. Sun was wonderful. It can be nerve-wracking to find a good vet for your new animal, but we were pleased with the service and facilities.

I brought in my dogs mickey and apollo for their shots and exam. The staff were very nice and courteous. My new puppy apollo liked it and will be bringing him back in a couple weeks for his last set of puppy shots. I enjoyed my visit even though it was a vet office.

I was referred to Dr. Cole by a very close friend of mine and couldn't have made a wiser choice than to listen to that bit of advice. The treatment of my dog as well as myself is above reproach. The care provided was above all medical care I have personally received. She is diligent, detailed, and systematic about the services and recommendations she has provided to me. I just adopted a young adult dog from the Santa Fe shelter and asked a friend who formerly practiced veterinary medicine in Albuquerque for a vet recommendation. Two words: Mike Forsyth. She worked in Critical Care and holds Dr. Forsyth in very high esteem for his ability to treat everything from acute injuries to more complex, possibly life-threatening matters. I met him this past week for my adoptee’s first visit and cannot say enough about Mike and his entire team...Jessica, Cindy, and all the smiling faces behind the scenes I watched interact with clients both on the phone and in person. I met 4-5 other clients with their dogs waiting for their appointments (I was very early) and one couple waiting to pick their senior up after dental work. Their praise was universal. I found Mike to be a very caring individual who really wants to work with me to ensure the adoption goes well and my very happy 20# beagle mix remains healthy. A recent transplant from the upper Midwest, I needed a lot of instruction on New Mexico’s parasites and the differences in prophylactic care. He sat on the floor to examine my dog, who delighted in crawling all over him while he was examined and given the thumbs up. I understand and agree with the clinic’s superlative client ratings. I recommend Cottonwood Animal Clinic for the skill, compassion, and the great love they show for their clients. I am so pleased to have them guiding my new pup’s care!

My husband and I are truly grateful for this Clinic and all of it's staff. 3 days ago we had a bad experience with Sunrise Veterinary Clinic where they wouldn't take the time to help us put our beloved dog to sleep while they were not even busy. So we tried Cottonwood and I asked the woman at the desk if they could see our dog and explained that his legs are weak and he was losing use along with his other health issues, and she said we could see him in 15 minutes. When we got in the exam room, the assistant laid a blanket on the floor to make our dog comfortable then Dr Mike Forsyth came in and talked to us while he was also making our precious Baron more comfortable and explained to us how the procedure will work. Then Dr Mike Forsyth handled the whole procedure to where our Baron did not suffer and was gone so peacefully. When it was over we never felt rushed, and then whole staff was so very kind and they all told us how very sorry there where. We even received a clay paw print of Baron to keep. Two days later we received such a very nice sympathy card from the whole staff.

I have been seeing Dr. Cole for about 9 years now. Over the years she has taken care of all of my equine, canine, feline, and fancy rat needs. She always goes above and beyond for all of her patients, including late night in-person visits to her patients if they are required to stay overnight at the clinic. The reason that I continue to see her instead of other vets that I have been to in the past is because: in addition to going above and beyond with treatments, she is always very genuine with her feedback and analysis of my animals. She always lets me know what all of my options (and costs associated) are up front, and makes recommendations on what she personally feels is best for the patient. She really makes you feel like she is recommending what she would do for HER animal. Additionally, if there is more research that is needed to be done (such as an MRI required for my pet), she will make a referral to an excellent specialist accordingly. I highly recommend her as a veterinarian if you are looking for the best, most considerate treatments for your animals. - AnnMarie

Dr. Mike Forsyth was absolutely the best vet we could have found when we were visiting Rio Rancho/Albuquerque from Florida last week. Our 9 month old lab ate something bad (imagine a lab doing that!) and it made her very sick. After two days of trying to get her well, we gave up and tried to find a local vet to see her. The staff at Cottonwood was willing to fit us into their already booked schedule that morning. Dr. Forsyth listened to us, sat down on the floor to bond and check out our 63 pound puppy. He told us he could run extensive tests to verify his diagnosis, but thought it was unnecessary and would save us money not to do them. Two pills later we were out the door and he even gave us his cell phone number to call in case we had any trouble as we made our way up New Mexico and into Colorado over the next few days. I was even more surprised to get a phone call from him two days later checking up on our dog. My husband and I wish we had a vet like him at home! I highly recommend Cottonwood Animal Clinic.
