I adopted this sweet girl from animal humane and she's absolutely adorable. The staff was so helpful. They provide a lot of good information for you to take home with you, including information about health care options for your new pet. There are a lot of adorable dogs and cats that need homes. If you're thinking about adopting, go here and find your new best friend.

I adopted a 1 year old cat named Lily Annette about a month ago. I've renamed her, but overall the experience was pleasant. The employees were very patient with me. I was picky because I already had a cat at home and I didn't want either cat to be too stressed out. They were very excited to hear I wanted Lily though, and while she was looking a little rough when she was at the shelter (she was a stray, she'd been with them for less than 2 weeks) I'm happy to say that she's put on some weight and is looking much healthier overall. Adding a couple of photos, the one on the right was from 2 days living with me and the other on the left is today.

They are awesome, very professional, and they help people. I have been using their services for several years now, and have found them to be the best veterinarian clinic that I have been to in the last 40 years. They help people with financial assistance, that can not afford a normal vet. They are a complete vet and animal hospital. Very clean, with a Great Staff who are very attentive, and take great care of my babies.

We first brought a cat abandoned in our apartment complex to the Animal Humane. He received medical treatment for his wounds on the shoulder and got his medical checkup. Later, we decided to adopt him and he has been a healthy cat since then. I whole heartedly believe in the great work they do for animals! They have been kind and helpful to abandoned pets. It is a worthy place to donate and make a positive difference for the cats and dogs. Our cat approves of Animal Humane New Mexico!

I loved this place compared to watermelon ranch. The facility is much nicer and the dogs seemed generally happier and the staff is really nice. I have one complaint. Whoever spayed her before I got her spayed her too soon. She was 3 months. Her stitches were terribly done and I’ve had nothing but issues with them and multiple vet visits since then and she’s now 6months. She may also be having secondary complications from her surgery that will have to be treated. It’s really sad and frustrating to have to deal with the aftermath of sloppy work.

Love Animal Humane New Mexico! We adopted our second dog here. The facilities are expansive and well maintained by great staff and volunteers; you can tell they really care about the animals. We had a dog already and had to do a few different meet-and-greets to find the right fit to co-exist with her, and the staff made the process very smooth for both the shelter dogs and our dog. They really get a wide variety of breeds that come through, as well as all sorts of ages (from puppies to seniors). If you don't see something that seems like the right fit for you, keep checking back on their site; you'll definitely find someone.

Animal Humane of New Mexico does so much good work in the city of Albuquerque (and the surrounding area) they do so much for cats and dogs (and people) but they do have some difficult and even maybe unproductive rules. They are sometimes unwilling to place an animal for petty reasons that don’t always make sense for the best interest of the animal. (or the humans for that matter) I understand why but it’s still a little frustrating. for example if you come in wanting to look at dogs and then decide you’d like to look at cats they say no. Or vice versa. And they won’t adopt a cat to a household where the cat might go outside. Which I personally think it’s silly… I won’t let a new cat go outside for six months to a year but eventually when they’re fully bonded I think they deserve the opportunity to go outside for a few hours here and there. They are ANIMALS after all… They do have a great new behavioral health and training center; they’re expanding their horizons and working with people teaching them how to be good doggy and kitty parents. So I really respect them for that.

It's been 2 weeks now since 3 month old Anya was adopted and I'm glad you were the first choice. The wait was a little long but understandable due to lack of staff. The facility is amazing though and you can tell it's run by people who truly care for the animals. The adoption process was pretty quick and simple, and the advise given to properly integrate Anya with my puppy worked out perfectly.

Animal humane of NM is an amazing organization. We are extremely lucky to have them here. We recently adopted our new baby from them and we are so happy with everything. We went there twice to make sure we find a life long friend and the staff were super helpful and patience with us. They have a really good record and history of all their animals to make sure that you find a perfect match. Not to mention they treat their animals so well! We adopted Maddox (renamed Mookie) who they 1st rescued from the street then rescued from the city shelter the 2nd time. The top left photo is from when they rescued him from the shelter. It broke my heart to look at that photo I cannot believe how beat up and thin he looked. The top right photo is from after he has been with them for a couple of months, they treated him so well that he looks like a different cat. The bottom two photos are from us. He is now the new king of the house who enjoys kisses <3 <3 <3. Please adopt, volunteer, and/or donate to this amazing place <3.

What a wonderful place. The facilities, staff, and volunteers are all lovely. Having the dogs in separate enclosed rooms makes the experience of adopting so much more pleasant. No loud and smelly rooms full of dogs! When I adopted from here, they let me have all the time in the world with the perspective dogs. Don't forget, they also offer some really great training classes!

Amazing place! The dedication is outstanding and the range of events, community service, etc. is really incredible. We adopted an eight week old Pitbull puppy four years ago who'd been there since he was a week old. I've had nothing but good experiences here. I do wish they wouldn't neuter so early; we had to give our puppy testosterone shots for a while to ensure bone growth, but I do understand why it's done and I'm not complaining at all. I wouldn't hesitate to adopt from here again or recommend it for others.

The Animal Humane New Mexico was great! I came looking to adopt on a Sunday and wasn't disappointed. After looking at a couple different dogs, I got lucky when they told me they had the perfect dog for me that someone had turned in that morning. Instantly bonded with Earl(the dog they told me about) and I adopted him. The staff was great with helping me out. They know their animals and any tips you may need.

Animal Humane runs a beautiful facility providing veterinary, boarding, and adoption services. When we decided to grow our family with a new dog friend we choose to use them. Given the reality of COVID restrictions we did not go to tour the available animals, but instead considered the availables from their website and then scheduled a time to go and visit the one we were attracted to. This worked well, as they are careful to remove animals from the website once someone has chosen to adopt. The actual adoption process was fast and they have it set up to be entirely contactless. We were in and out in 45 minutes. Our Razi (was Tommy) gives it two paws up!

Yes I am on a fixed income. My baby girls name is Kyro, she is my GSD service dog. And she was diagnosed with German shepherd panis about a year-and-a-half ago which is an autoimmune disease in her eyes. Animal Humane was able to help us out with the medication and the exam. Sunday we went and picked up some food for her from Animal Humane food bank which is in Albuquerque on Sunday and Wednesday morning for anyone that needs it nothing like this in Utah. This clinic provides a wide range of services. Taking proper care of your beloved pet can be very costly so Animal Humane relieves some of those costs to treat your pet. This is an organization that will take great care of your little friends. They also provide other services such as dog training, euthanasia, etc.

We got a very nice kitty named Miso from this location. They took us on a tour to meet the cats and it was a lot of fun. Be aware you need an appointment! However we found that there are often appointments available on the same day.

We've been going to the vet clinic here. The staff is wonderfully helpful and friendly. I highly recommend them to anyone that needs a low cost vet. Unfortunately because of extremely high call volume you can only leave a voicemail, and it can take quite awhile for them to get back to you. Being a low cost clinic, their services are in very high demand. So be patient and don't give up!

Ive adopted from here & the facilities are always nice and clean animal's WellCared for, the low income clinic here is also very nice, a couple weeks ago I had to put down my best friend because she was dying from cancer, the staff was kind and caring really went above and beyond to make sure this painful experience was as easy as it could be they even let me stay with my dog until she passed away and took her last breath I can never thank the Staff enough for their kindness during such a heartbreaking time,I like that they also offer cremation so that you can receive your beloved pets ashes back with a paw print

Not really sure how I feel. Showed up about 30 minutes tell there lunch break. The woman at desk was nice but, she definitely dragged out time to delay us. She could have handled it much better by stating, why don't you walk through to look at cats we have and if you see any babies you might want to meet, come back after we return from our lunch. Instead, she made us fill out paperwork, then her coworker left, she says, I can't do anything until my coworker returns. The stalling just didn't stop. We were like ok, so you don't want us to adopt. Cool. And we finally left. And an hour later, adopted a sweet fur baby from Bernalillo County humane society. They treated us very well, and acted like the animals were the most important point to all of this. Maybe they should call them to get retrained on kindness and the whole point to all of this? The woman who takes care of the cats was sweet and amazing. The front desk staff need training in kindness and priorities! I was polite and respectful but, I saw what was happening and realized there lunch was there priority! Come on people, please do better! Don't worry, we won't refer other people or return.

We adopted our puppy, George, from Animal Humane on the West side. Awesome facility! We are so grateful for our new addition. Since adopting him in November, we have been taking advantage of the puppy hour at the main center and have already signed him up for a couple of more classes they offer. It's been great for him! You can even go to their website and watch your pup on their webcams. I am super impressed with their staff's professionalism and response time to all the questions I have had. We will continue to take advantage of all the programs they offer as George gets older. Very nice facilities, they have a pretty big main campus. I cannot say this enough, the staff at the Animal Humane of New Mexico is incredible! My fiancé and I have been looking for a puppy for months from another shelter and within the first few days of finding their adoption site, we completed an application and were able to adopt the perfect puppy! The staff is highly professional and upholds quality customer service. Before we adopted our puppy, a staff member called to answer various questions and provide information about our puppy's breed and personality. We adopted our current dog from this place. They are the best shelter that I've ever experienced. We first were curious about another dog. After an interview, in which the expert asked our job, personality, hobbies, home environment, she recommended another dog that would fit with us the most. We have lived with this four-legged family almost 2 years now. We all are very happy with each other. Very very professional and we really appreciate their help. The clinic is a very clean facility. The staff from the front desk through to the veterinarian were professional, friendly, and very kind & helpful. My pet was treated very well and her needs met. I went along with my brother Victor to shop for a dog. We went to the first shelter, which I hate to say was not the cleanest, and the dogs looked really distressed. We then went to this shelter on Virginia Street, what a 360 !! Beautiful well kept, no smell. My brother actually found the dog of his dreams, and named her Sasha. I live in Raton, NM and am looking for a small dog for companionship for us and our 2 1/2 year old Pit Bull Maria. I received a phone call today about a Chihuahua, but after discussing, the employee and I decided it wouldn't be a good fit for now. I definitely will be looking at this shelter in the future!!

You get a phone call pretty quick and set up a appointment to view the animal of your choice. They give you the animals background about behavior issues and health. My husband and I had an exceptional experience with Animal Humane NM! I applied to foster March 2020 when I knew I would be home and able to spend time with a dog or cat. We were called in September and picked up an active, exuberant 2 year old shepherd mix who was recovering from a paw injury. Over two months we got to know more about this sweet dog, his injury, his worries, and how much he needed the stability of a home. Marisa and Nallely took many phone calls and assisted with everything we needed from post surgical care, medication, food and behavioral help to help our pup heal. The veterinarians were outstanding and clearly care deeply for the animals here. This was an experience I will share with others and gladly do again when the time is right! At the moment we are new “adoptive parents” and so excited to welcome this new pup into our family.

Beautiful facility with passionate volunteers and employees. After finding a stray kitten we took her here based on the great reviews and we were not disappointed. Super nice clean facility. The staff here really seem to know their stuff on dogs. We are adopting another dog and we were very impressed with the entire meet and greet without dogs and our soon to be addition. Animal Humane has greatly and positively impacted the quality of life for my four legged family members. The staff is amazing and we love Dr. Yarne. She not only delivers an individualized and cutting edge care plan for my pets but educates and listens to me. My two dogs are rescues from extremely bad situations so they struggle with multiple health issues. The vet techs are always kind and attentive. Feather is one of our favorites. My dogs feel very comfortable with and are happy to see the staff. I myself have have some very serious health issues. I became unable to deliver the level of care I would like for my dogs medical needs due to not being able to work. I was fortunate enough to hear about this wonderful establishment. Because of Animal Humane I no longer worry about being able to deliver superior care and get medications for my pets. My dogs health is directly linked to my well being as I love them very much. Thank you Animal Humane for helping us in this time of need and for delivering superior, individualized and kind care for my babies.

I really like the ascetics of this place. It has come a long way over the years. It was very neat and tidy. They had reasonable fees. I was there to utilize the catch and release program for feral cats. It is a great program. It allows feral cats in the community a fighting chance without further populating the community.I will come back and check this place out some more and see what animals are available for adoption. I am very happy Doggy Daycare at The Center is finally open. I work on base, so their location right outside the Wyoming gate is super convenient. I feel like a real parent dropping my fur kid off at day care on the way to work and picking her up on my way home. As any proud pet parent, my dog is the sweetest dog. Ever. And they treat her that way when they bring her out. I like watching her on the monitors. I like seeing if she looks happy to be there. And she does. They are also really responsive. They are serious about safety. They enforce the dog to handler ratio. I like the screening they do for all dogs. Unlike my dog, again proud pet parent, not all dogs play well with others. The facility is pretty nice. Much roomier than a few other places we’ve been. Finally, all the profits from the Center go to Animal Humane. So it makes me feel good spoiling my dog knowing that less fortunate dogs benefit as well. I’m really happy with the Center at Animal Humane for Doggy Daycare.

SUPER sweet people! they just actually want to help you and understand that if you drove to see them you are actually interested in getting an animal. They take the time to have you visit with the pet and see if there is a good connection with the animal. What a pleasant experience when walking into Animal Humane|New Mexico. The place is so clean, the cat house is full of toys, and climbing trees and access to an enclosed outdoor space and it did my heart good to see these homeless creatures being treated so well. They are happy campers! The staff was friendly and the volunteers helpful. I love the way the dog kennels have cards that tell you at a glance about each dog and what their energy level is. They had piped in soft music and you can tell that all the people here TRULY CARE care about the animals! I didn't find my perfect pet yet, but I am going back until I do. I highly recommend going there too if you are adopting.

Couldn’t speak more highly of this humane shelter! Was traveling across country from Cali to the east coast and witnessed a dog on the side of the hwy that had been abandoned. She was a new mom who had been taken from her pups and was very scared. After letting the dog stay with us overnight we took her by the shelter in the a.m. on a Sat. Even though the shelter usually doesn’t take dogs on the weekend, they made an exception for this sweet girl. They helped carry her in from the car and gave her a quick check up. She was adopted soon after. Everyone was kind and thoughtful that day and each time that I’ve called in. We are so grateful to this shelter.

Gets a bit busy right at opening so we had to wait a while before our turn to be able to get some time looking at some dogs we were considering. The wait was worth it. Once they got around to us they were totally committed. Didn't feel rushed at all and the behavioral specialist gave full analysis with every meet and greet we did with our existing dog.

I've asked around what that to go to I was given y'all I see the amazing reviews but I just have one question we found a kitty in a dumpster planned on just healing her but our son has got a little attached , do y'all fix female kitties free if the kitty was abandoned, or do we have to report her being abandoned then surrender her and wait for y'all to fix spayed her and then adopt her? We are keeping her regardless but we can't afford the chance if she gets pregnant

I adopted a 6 year old FIV positive cat from animal humane recently. They were completely forth coming about his condition so we knew exactly what we were getting into. The staff was very helpful and kind, they made the adoption process easy and seamless as possible. I later returned to the clinic where he had a fractured tooth removed. Since he was a returning animal the surgery was at no cost and I completely trusted the vets with my cat. They called after his operation to inform me that it went well and when I came back to pick him up they carefully went over his medication and answered any questions I had. I think it is clear to anyone who goes to Animal Humane that everyone in the staff cares immensely for their animals and they ensure the highest quality treatment for every animal under their care. I’m very grateful for everything Animal Humane has done for my cat and I highly recommended their services!

This is a great place to look for a little companion. They will take there time with you and make sure you are comfortable with your decision. However, keep in mind these people at the Animal Humane love animals so much, they may downplay some problems/issues some pets display. Please make sure you ask a lot of questions. Walk the dog. Play with them. The "personality" matches are not 100% accurate! Sometimes they spend very little time with an animal to access its personality, so make sure to take your time. Even then, its possible there are problems after adoption. All in all, this is a wonderful facility.

Dr. Hamel is literally the best veterinarian I have ever met in my life, and the techs, are absolutely incredible!!! Each individual I encountered here, sincerely cared about the health and well being of ALL fur babies (not just the ones that were being seen by owners who took them in for a service). The staff members exuded with love, care, compassion, and dedication towards their field. I can't begin to express my gratitude for the Animal Humane Society!!! My roommates and I were contemplating for a while since we moved here if we were going to adopt a dog. This place was the best place for us to find one. They categorize the dogs on their certain behaviors and that really helped out a lot. The people that work there are absolutely amazing and you can tell that they love their job. I would totally recommend this place if anyone is looking to adopt a doggo or cat. :)

I wish I could give them 10 stars! THEIR TRAINING CLASSES ARE THE BEST IN TOWN. They are a great place to adopt, but I really want to highlight their training classes! OMG their trainers are SO SUPER DEDICATED to helping owners and their dogs. If you need background: their training philosophy focuses on positive training techniques, so no electric collars/choke collars/intimidation techniques here. I've adopted two puppies through the humane and I've taken both of them to the Sunday puppy playtimes. This is an AMAZING way to socialize your young puppy, even before they have full shots. Then I've sent my older dog through both puppy preschool and civilized canine classes. It was amazing to see the trainer specifically bring in extra helpers because some of the dogs in our civilized canine class had special needs for training. For instance, some were really shy, some were fearful of other dogs. They turned a group class into semi-individualized instruction and really focused on the specific needs of each dog! They also kept all of the dogs separate during the CC class b/c not all dogs are comfortable socializing. They really met each dog at their comfort level. Even though it's been a year since the last time I took a class, I still can contact the trainer and ask her a million questions. They just really love helping people and their dogs!!!! Finally, even if you didn't adopt through their center, they have a behavior helpline that anyone can call for advice. The humane really deserves kudos for being so committed to finding families for lost pets and then helping to troubleshoot some of the behavioral problems that can make it difficult for people to keep their pets.

mixed feelings: they wanted proof of ownership of my lost 18y/o cat beyond the myriad pictures I had of her with myself and my dogs in various places and stages of my life, then informed me the "suggested" reclaim fee is $40 when the regular adoption fee is only $15. I appreciate the great work they do, and while they did accept my photos and it was only a suggested amount it felt somewhat arbitrary and backwards on the pricing. I'm just glad I got her back. still seems odd that when a person produces proof of ownership that the price more than doubled.. I woulda paid whatever but can't help feeling like they're taking advantage of people's attachments.

A male and a female, the male was extremely aggressive towards the female. They warned us about his negative problems which we are addressing and he is learning quickly. Could not get anyone to pick up the phone. Took my dog all the way over there just to be told that they don't take walk-ins and they couldn't help any way. Total time spent traveling to facility: half hour Total time spent at facility: two minutes. At least I only wasted 32 minutes of mine and my dog's time. They may be great for certain things, but DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE IN AN EMERGENCY! They cannot help. My guess is that they specialize in vaccinations and preventative care.

I had two bonded dogs that I had to surrender to the Animal Humane NM, since I already had 4 dogs at home. The 2 dogs were from a friend of mine who had recently passed away, and I had no luck finding a home for them through close networks. So my last resort was to take them to the Animal Humane. It wasn't a guarantee that they'd keep both dogs together, but they said that they would try to and if they were separated they would make sure they'd go into good homes. Long story short, I found out the next day someone adopted them together. So grateful for this place!

To be honest this is one of the more beautiful places I have seen to adopt a pet. I wanted a kitten but it was $75. I had recently been to petsmart and the kittens were a $10. I've no idea why there such a disparity other than the fact that I get that animal humane relies on donations and contributions to survive.

In the past 3 or 4 years, my parents and I have fostered multiple dogs and a cat from the animal humane society. We foster failed and adopted one of the dogs. She's one of the best, sweetest dogs we've had. There's no question in the fact that they are being cared for. However, the staff is extremely condescending and snooty. They act like they're all that and a slice of bread to people that aren't exactly like them. We're kind and I believe that my family is great with dogs, but they never liked us at the humane society. It frustrates me that people feel so embarrassed when being spoken to like that.

The staff was super understanding of the fact I made an 8 hour round trip twice to have my dog treated for bladder stones. Dr. Hamel was very comforting and helpful with every question I had. I'm very thankful for this clinic and the donors that contribute to its operation because I didn't have the funds to have my dog treated here in El Paso. We're currently two days post op and Fitc (my dog) is doing very well. Thank you so much for helping me and her out in a jam.

I adopted a 2 year old Pitbull "Lady Bird" someone had adopted her before me and brought her back because she would go pottie in the house number 1&2 and she would also vomit in the house. She bite one of the first people that adopted her and this is what the shelter told me was the reason she was returned (she bite) shelter also told me that the reason she threw up was nerves getting adjusted to new place. I had "Lady Bird" 4 days before i had to return her. I would walk 20 minutes a day 4 or 5 times a day. She went to bathroom outside 1 time in 5 days. I would get done walking her and bring her back in and within 5 minutes she would pee in the floor. The last night she was here she threw up all over my couch. This dog has medical issue's and shelter must know this but they are still trying to adopt her out one more time. I feel the shelter was not completely honest with me so overall all this was not a good experience. I will not be going back to the shelter to adopt anymore pets and they tried to get me to adopt a cat while i was there the first time as well getting the dog. Not happy at all about this experience!!!

I have taken over six dog training classes at Animal Humane and I keep coming back for more! Civilized Canine (basic obedience), Perfect Pub Pet, Nosework, Agility... there really is something for everyone, human and canine. The instructors are knowledgeable and truly care. Classes are fun but really informative, too. I've learned so much and strengthened my bond with my dogs as a result. I can't wait to take a class at their beautiful new training facility! I have also adopted two dogs from Animal Humane and the experience was wonderful. The staff there gave me great information on my dogs' personalities and how they might fit into my home. They even had my dog meet the prospective dogs to see how they would get along. I felt prepared and excited when I finally took my little guy home, instead of worried and stressed, thanks to the adoption process and the input from the shelter staff. I will never go anywhere else to adopt.

NO ONE WILL RESCUE THIS FREEZING DOG. I am contacting Animal Humane society about this freezing dog at Los Altos Park 10100 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. Please rescue this poor dog that has been sleeping by the trees at night on the south west side of this golf course. He is black and white fur and too old to be freezing like this. You guys never told me you take in strays. So I couldn't keep appt bc on that day I couldn't trap this cat. I like that you respond, would be nice to have known that. I went to corrales and they were great with information. When I took this beautiful chocolate siamese in, the handlers were soooo matter of fact I couldn't tell they have any affection for animals. I cried leaving the cat. He was adopted immediately. They assured me he would be the only cat in new home. But when I called they didn't let me know. He fights with other cats. I probably wont go back to humane bc of lack of info to ease my pain and to make it easier to deliver a stray that I grew to love. I donated 20.00. Juanita montoya.

I've gotten both of my animals so far from them. A cat originally named Riley, now named Ava (who has behavioral problems because she was found on the streets and brought in without her mother when she was still drinking milk). Then today I got a cute Heeler mix puppy named Lyric. I kept the name. Their service is great and their staff is very friendly. Their animals are all healthy and cared for with a lot of love. Lyric loves everybody, there isn't an aggressive bone in her little puppy body. I strongly recommend Animal Humane for anyone who wants to adopt a dog or a cat (:

I'm giving them 3 stars because I do respect what they do, but on the flip side I haven't had great experiences with them. I've captured (if that's an appropriate term) a stray dog and stray cat. Both times that I've given them to the Humane Society, they give me an attitude as if I'm surrendering them as MY OWN pets. Now I know why people just dump their unwanted pets on the streets, they don't want the guilt trip.

Animal Humane Westside is a wonderful place to consider to adopt your next furrever animal friend. We adopted our doggy, Bambino, there in December 2020 after he had been returned by a previous adopter for chasing a cat. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Our doggy came with all of his shots, he was neutered, and microchipped. They offer free a free animal behavior advice line and other helpful services to make adoption a smooth sailing process for you and your furry friend. I’m so lucky to have another wonderful doggy in my life. Thanks, Animal Humane for allowing us to give Bambino a second chance. He’s living happily with 2 other rescued dog siblings and an elderly cat.

I have had positive and negative experiences with this group... but overall I think there are spectacular. We've adopted a couple of dogs from them over the years, sweethearts that can be described more as family than pets. In the past four years or so I've been managing a feral cat colony, including bringing them into AHNM for their trap/neuter/release program. - and I can't say enough about what a relief this support has been. I couldn't afford to fix these cats on my own, and if I didn't neuter them I would have seen dozens upon dozens of births, and sick and hungry cats. Instead with their help I have managed to keep this colony at a manageable size, which I can feed and care for. I am also a contact for Ally cat Allies and on occasion I've had calls about sick or injured cats that needed taking in. On one occasion I had a liter of tiny sick kittens that I ended up having to surrender. The surrender fee for the kittens was high, but I am aware that a place that works so hard to keep an animal until it can find a home can get expensive. I don't always meet smiling faces at AHNM, sometimes I have a bad experience. But I also know that sometimes people have bad days or just don't know how to get along with the public. If it's bad I make a point to let management know. Otherwise I try to remember these people are human too. Over all thee are great people, and this is a great organization that Albuquerque and Bernalillo County would be a sadder place without.

We've taken three classes now at Animal Humane, and they've all been super useful. Staff here really care about ensuring the best possible life for each animal that they train or adopt out, and I have a couple of friends who started work there in the last year and are having a positive experience.

I went in several times to look at certain dogs, but it wasn't until my fourth visit that I met "Amos", a little black lab mix with a curled tail. He was perfect. I took him home the next day. I can't begin to describe how thankful I am for him and the humane society employees. They helped me find my companion. He is always with me, he checks on me in the shower, and guards the window by my bed (much to my chagrin). I have my forever dog and the best companion I could have ever asked for. His new name is Laz short for Lazaretto, and everyone that meets him loves him entirely. Thank you for my forever dog. I highly recommend coming here to find the perfect animal for you.

My poor cooper had many loose teeth I had to make a few appointment to get to the main appointment where they had to put him in surgery and take like 9 teeth out and they cleaned the remaining teeth that he had left they did a good job very expensive though I had to fall back in a couple of things but it was worth it and they did a awesome job with my baby, one of the ladies in the front desk was rude but one of them was nice I can’t remember there names but they should not be hateful with anyone that Enter the building after all we’re the one paying for the service there I think later she called and apologized to me when was ok but I’m suffer from by polar so it’s hard for me to understand why people do that but anyway appreciate the call for the apology, the main thing is they took good care of cooper and that’s what matters....

Tov (now named Zeus) is a real doll, though he acts more like a four year old than an 11 year old. He and Scorpio (our 10 to 14 y.o. cat) are checking each other out and so far are a little leary of each other. I really think they will be good friends soon. The first night little Zeus spent in a separate room, but since then he's had the run of the house with Scorpio. Tov-Zeus likes to jump up on counter-tops which is not allowed here, but a little lowering of my voice and a "NO!" works with him. He has gotten into my plants also, but I've put them up and out of the way, "NO!" He has caught on quickly. He's smart and affectionate and we love him. He eats, drinks, plays and sleeps and is really a cute guy Thank you very much for our new guy !!!!

We went here to purchase our pet. We signed in and sat around waiting to be called for 30 mins + before I finally went up to ask for help because the employees were sitting around chatting, yet one other person was being helped. Then they referred me to another building all together. So we finally got to the cat building where we told them the name of the animal we saw online and wanted to see. She proceeded to show us every other animal instead. When we finally insisted on viewing the original one, it was the one we fell in love with. Little did we know just because we purchased an animal there doesn't mean you can go back for veterinary visits for shots and stuff. Vet visits are for low income people only, and we were told we'd have to bring in paycheck stubs for proof of income! Wow, we'll know more next time if we ever decide to adopt again from them.

A huge amount of animals are looking for a new home after being victims of the hurricanes. All the border states of Texas are taking in animals to help. Special interest groups too. Full blooded dogs are in our shelters. Also check out "pet-a-bulls" and Google for other rescue shelters in Albuquerque. This is our little rescue and she is so happy to have a home.
