I have an 11 year old dog with a heart condition. His whole life he’s been terrified of the vets office, until we found this place about a year ago! Now when we pull up, he’s trying to jump out of the car because he’s so excited! Everyone we’ve interacted with there has been so nice and understanding and really go out of their way to give him the attention he needs. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced vet that cares, this is the place for you and your pet.

Loved this place. Brought a dog I’m fostering there for a spay and shots. I’ve had dogs for many years and seen many vets from big city to tiny towns and I’ve never seen a surgery performed so cleanly. The only problem I have with 4 Paws is that they aren’t in Santa Fe so I had to travel to Albuquerque for the visit. Sure wish they’d open a local site inn Santa Fe. FYI, they also support the K9 community buy working with rescues to ensure transitioning dogs are happy and healthy. Support this business!

4 paws was able to get us in same day right after the holidays without paying for an urgent care fee. The vet and tech were very professional and super knowledgeable! My dog had a UTI and they had a urinalysis done within 20 minutes. So thankful for the staff and flexibility! Prices are reasonable, especially for same day services! The facility is clean and the staff is super friendly. Would definitely recommend.

So far so good. Took my six month old kitten for his pre-neuter exam. Highly knowledgeable techs and liked the Vet too. I'll post later when my kittens had his surgery. Post surgery: My Tabby was neutered on Friday February 3, 2023. Dropped him off at 8:00 A.M. it was a smooth check in. I picked him up at 3:00 P.M instructions given clearly. That same evening my cat was in excellent spirits and was just as though he hadn't left home. Today, five days post surgery, he is doing excellently. Thank you 4Paws. Update. Took my Tabby cat, almost one year old to have his claws trimmed. Thomas at 4 Paws said he did very well and that he was a sweet boy. Lovely. We'll be back.

I was really displeased with the last vet we went to, which my dog started heartworm treatment at. Rather than continuing treatment there, I sought to continue treatment elsewhere and 4 Paws was recommended by a few people in a FB group, and I am already SOO happy that we made the switch! First off, when I called to book the appointment I explained the situation about continuing treatment, asked if they would be able to do so, along with a couple of other questions. She made sure to speak with a dr first to make sure she was giving me correct information. Leading up to my appointment I also received a text confirmation, and they were also able to contact the last office to obtain my pup's records. Today everyone there was great. Not only was it a nice, clean waiting area, but the staff was friendly. And they actually took us in time for our appointment- we weren't waiting on them. Our tech was so personable (I'm so sorry I didn't get her name!) and was already making me feel comfortable about our decision after I explained the last place we went to. I haven't done a lot of cost comparison, but she told me 4 Paws has some of the best rates which so far has been the case for us. What really sold me on them was Dr. Hamel! She is amazing. My biggest concern with the last office was the doc's communication skills. Dr. Hamel was really amazing in explaining EVERYTHING in a very clear and concise way. She basically started from the beginning and walked me through everything- exactly what the medication my dog was already taking does, what the next steps are, possible treatments we could take including the costs and risks of each. They were very clear in the cost estimate and our tech even informed us of the Thrive Plus program they now work with which would save us 10% on all services that day and moving forward. (We did not opt into this program, which is separate from their office, but it was great to be offered and informed of) Overall I can't recommend them enough- they have a great, knowledgeable and professional staff with reasonable pricing. I will definitely be bringing my other dogs here in the future as well!

I have left great reviews before since we have been since our dog and cats. I just got word Dr Robertson is no longer with the Hospital. That’s too bad, I haven’t gotten to know the new docs yet. I understand DrRobertson is with Animal Humane Society. We will still continue to go to Four Paws unless we are disappointed which I hope we are not . The staff I have talked to are great.

We are new to New Mexico, and I was walking my dog, and he had a seizure. I googled, and this place was the first in the list, so we took our dog to them. They were so nice and got us a room immediately. They took care of our dog, and we will definitely be going back.

Our kitty had a gunky eye which we assumed was an infection and wanted to get it treated as quickly as possible. We called around to see who would be able to see him as soon as possible and unfortunately were told it would be about a week to two weeks wait. Thankfully 4 paws popped up and I gave them a call, they managed to fit our little guy in and I could not be more grateful. They were so helpful, thoughtful, and gentle with our anxious little man. They were incredibly transparent with pricing and were able to get our kitty’s eye assessed and come up with a treatment plan quickly. Going to the vet is a taxing experience for pet and owner but they made it as smooth as possible.

Dr. Christina Kulage was able to squeeze my poor baby in for an appointment in her busy schedule to see my cat for an injury he got being outdoors. Even though he was a spicy kitty, she treated him like he was a sweet baby. The prices were more affordable than the quotes I received elsewhere. I will be taking him back here going forward. They are so good with our animals and they always call to check in on their patients. It's that kind of dedication and courtesy as to why I highly recommend this vet hospital. However, they still have a recording talking about their phones not working still and that is frustrating as well as them always being out of printer ink when printing receipts...

Thank you guys so much for saving my little dude! Your knowledge and ability to quickly diagnose and treat the problem saved his life and I'm so glad I came to you for a second opinion. This place will definitely be my first choice from now on. I came to Four Paws after a really horrible experience elsewhere. I had prepared to put my dog down who had been diagnosed with heart failure but wanted a second opinion first. 4 Paws was able to quickly discover that he just had an infection in his throat from allergies! The people here genuinely care for animals and they even made follow up phone calls to check in on his progress. He is back to his normal happy dog self!

The services and vets are fine. However, they always have phone problems so it’s hard to get a hold of them and even when multiple voice messages are left they never call back. I’ve also tried reaching out by email and never received a reply. After finally getting an appointment, their printer was broken so they couldn’t provide vaccination records and said they would email them. They never did. Such a hassle.

We had a great experience here! My poor fur baby had been suffering with diarrhea for a few days, and it hadn't cleared up. I was getting worried and decided to schedule a vet visit. I called all around town, and 4 Paws had a cancelation that day, so they were able to squeeze us in. Antibiotics and a steroid shot cleared up my baby's issues. Everyone was really sweet, and the visit didn't cost an arm and a leg either. We will be going here again if my pup needs anymore medical care!

Dr Robertson and staff are the greatest. All show genuine care for pets and respect for owners. Exceptional clinical treatment with the best results hoped for in the case of my golden retriever who had large fat feposits removed. Upon meeting Dr. Robertson she was the sweetest and most bubbly person we know. Our fur baby was showing signs of heart valve failure and she referred us to a vet cardiologist (the only one in Albuquerque ) to meet at 4 paws- which is perfectly convenient. I had been to 4 paws previously as a foster for Argos Rescue; this was my first visit with one of my own pups. The staff at 4 paws have always been very courteous and friendly. The dental work they provided for Charlie seems to have gone well and they followed up with me regarding his condition after coming home. They are very close to our home and that convenience is great for me. Their care is also a great value; I estimate my savings to be almost half of what my previous veterinarian quoted me a few weeks ago. I would recommend them to anyone.

I absolutely love 4 Paws! Dr. Robertson has treated two of my pets recently for a torn dewclaw and yesterday, a possible broken leg. She is absolutely wonderful. Dr Robertson and her staff are absolutely wonderful. My poor fur baby was in a very bad way lethargic, shaking, spasaming and panting while at rest. I did not have an established vet and a neighbor recommended 4 paws. I called at 8:00 on Monday morning to try to get an appointment and they got us in at 9:45. The gentleman scheduling the appointment was very helpful and seemed concerned about my dog. By the time we got to the vet his symptoms had calmed down guite a bit and I was concerned they would think I exagerated to get in faster. The ladies at the registration desk were very kind and understanding. Great place for your family pets. Unfortunately we had to make the tough decision to bring Lucky our Mixed Lab to rest. From the moment we called in to make the appointment, to the final moment when Lucky took his last breath, the staff at 4 Paws was truly compassionate and loving to our wonderful dog. 4 Paws is the best place I’ve ever gone to, for my pets. The owner, Dr. Robertson REALLY cares for the animals, unlike any other. Dr. Kulage is also great at what she does and they’re both so nice. I prefer going here, to any other place. My partner took her senior cat there multiple times(who passed away in 2018) and I took my senior dog multiple times(who I had to let go of in February). When I let go of my dog, I took her there. They can transport them afterwards, to be cremated, which I did. It was extremely difficult for me, but the way it was handled by the doctor and how everything was explained was perfect. They gave me the time I needed with her, before saying goodbye and made sure to check up every so often, until I felt it was time. We now take our 4 year old black cat and our 9 year old chihuahua to them and will continue to do so.

I have been with Dr. Robertson since 2014. It was just her and today, she has two other vets that have her ethics, kindness and care. I still favor her for all her loviness. She sits on the floor with my big dogs. Always a happy person. Shes also very intelligent and intuitive with my creatures. Im still getting to know the other two vets and they are very good too. One of them had to put my kitty to sleep last year. . She was so good to me and gave me the support I needed. I had Lola for 20 years! The assistants are always happy to assist and great at doing their job. GREAT PLACE!!

We had to find a new vet and I'm very happy we tried 4 Paws. The vet was very responsive to our email when an incident happened with one of our dogs, she had us bring him in ASAP . When we got there the vets were very friendly. We were nervous that our dog had to go in without us (Covid-19) because at the last vet he slipped out of his harness and they couldn't treat him (deemed him aggressive even though they were our usual vet ((VCA Montgomery)), but at 4 Paws Pet Hospital they snuck him inside with ease before he even realized we weren't with him. He didn't seem nervous or anything when they brought him back out which was a great surprise. They treated him very quickly ~20 minutes, gave us the medication he needed, the whole visit was very affordable, and he was back to his normal self within a few days.

A busy place full of animals and amazingly nice people. I interacted to some degree with 4 or 5 employees/providers and every single one of them was wearing a smile under their mask, I could just tell. My 12 year old cat was diagnosed as diabetic and while scary to hear, his vet and others showed me everything I needed to know so that I could go home confidently and take care of his new needs.

Dr. Robertson has been our vet for about 6 years now. We've found her to be a very kind and compassionate person. She genuinely loves animals (and is great with the owners, too!) We like her so much, when she switched from a nearby 25 hospital, we followed her across town to 4 Paws. As another reviewer wrote, the pries were not so high as to be affordable, but not so low that we worried about the quality of care. We just rescued our fourth dog from the pound and, despite getting a free first visit from other vets, 4 Paws was our first call. The only reason I didn't give the full five stars was the distance and the lack of 24 hour intake. If the location works for you and you aren't concerned about the hours, I highly recommend Dr. Robertson and 4 Paws Hospital.

I had taken my baby to two other clinics closer to my neck of the woods before my sister recommended 4Paws. Truth is- the clinics in my neck of the woods did not seem to offer the same quality, professionalism, or cleanliness and the other clinics did things like giving my little yorkie human cold-cuts without my permission- I have never experienced any of that here and if 4Paws staff wants to give my babies an appropriate treat they ask. 4Paws is a good 30 minutes from where I live but the pricing is affordable and reasonable- they offer many services and I really love the Vets.

I wish I could give more stars. Our dog, Drake, was so ill. I called, described his symptoms, and got a same day appointment. This was incredible considering it was only a few days away from Christmas. We got there and the staff members were beyond sweet and caring. They took our doggy inside to examine him and just showed him love the whole time. We opted to get bloodwork done and waited outside in our vehicle for the results. The staff kept us updated and was apologetic for the time it took. There was no need for an apology, though, that was the quickest vet visit I have seen. Our doggy had to stay overnight to get rehydrated but we felt very confident that the staff would love and care for our baby. We received a call the very next morning with an update. Unfortunately for us it wasn't good news but fortunate for us 4 Paws Pet Hospital was able to give us more time with our pupper during his last days. I am never going to another vet clinic/pet hospital ever again. We can't thank them enough. This will be our forever Pet Hospital.

I had to take my baby boy in for an emergency appointment a few days ago. This clinic was so accommodating, even though we didn’t have an actual appointment in advance. I only wish the outcome could have been different, because we had to say goodbye my boy that day. The staff was great during this beyond devastating experience. My heart is broken that I had to say goodbye to my best friend, but I’m grateful that he was able to be surrounded by people who very obviously cared about him (and his family, of course) - even though they just met. We cannot say enough about Dr. Robertson and the staff! Our precious 4# little girl Harper became very ill one day and we were fortunate enough to have chosen 4Paws to examine her. New to the area, we had not yet established a vet relationship. Harper was diagnosed with Pancreatitus and sent home with medication. Her condition worsened overnight, so we took her to VCA, since 4Paws had closed for the day. They were terrible and diagnosed her with complete kidney and liver failure, recommending euthanasia. The following morning we had her back under Dr. Robertson's care -- she NEVER lost faith in Harper's full recovery. She provided realistic optimism and incredible attention to Harper's health and well-being. The protocol that Dr. Robertson prescribed was spot-on and now, 1 month later, her kidney and liver functions are back to normal -- truly a miraculous recovery! Dr. Robertson's knowledge of Harper's condition, proper medical treatment, and amazing bedside manner, all combined to bring Harper out of her dangerous illness. We had the most caring experience at 4 Paws. My sons best friend Sally had been sick for about 2 weeks.The day my son decided to put her down because she was not doing well at all. He called around to different vets for the most reasonable price, due to the amount we had already spent on other hospital visits with Sally. He made an appointment the next day, Sally was hurting and crying all that day. When I arrived home from work he knew he did not want her to suffer one minute longer. I told him call back and ask if they can fit us in. The vetenarian said they would take us if we could get there in 20 mins because they were about to close. When we arrived the whole team was so welcoming, caring and patient with us. My son was devastated knowing he was going to loose his best friend of ten years. The vetenarian came in the room and told us they were not in a rush and we could spend as much time with her as we wanted. We just had to let them know when we were ready. We said our good byes and told them we were as ready as you can be. They allowed us to stay the vetenarian explained everything she was going to do in the most caring way. We sat next to Sally with our hands on her as she drifted off to sleep. Again they explained to us to take all the time we needed with Sally. My mom joined us a little later to say bye. We have never had to put one of our pets down before 4 Paws made this very hard experience very calming not rushed and the team was caring. I will always be greatful to 4 Paws for making that very difficult day my son lost his bff a little easier to deal with! I had a very good first visit here after moving to town. My dog had been limping lately and I suspected a broken bone or sprain. It never occurred to me that it was arthritis! So Dr van der Walt put her on a regimen of antiinflammatories and supplements. Also got a few other maladies checked out, all of which are age related. 4paws is the BEST. All 3 doctors are caring and wonderful. Dr. Meisner had to take my terrier to emergency dental surgery after a crow attacked him. He had cuts and a broken tooth with bleeding gums ripped out. It was high risk because Darby has seizures. Dr. Meisner handled the anesthesia gradually and safely and got Darby's mouth repaired. It was 10 days ago just before bed as I was falling asleep when Tecumseh, my Australian Cattle Dog/Canaan Dog, had his first idiopathic epileptic seizure. I was moments away from falling asleep and heard a strange noise in the room only to find Tecumseh in a full blown tonic-clonic or convulsive seizure(grand mal) . His first seizure was a bad one, I initially thought something was electrocuting him due to how violent the seizure was. Tecumseh’s first seizure had a duration of almost three minutes and thirty seconds, for me it felt like 3 hours…Tecumseh suffered a slight hearing loss after that first one. These guys are absolutely amazing. I am traveling and I had an emergency situation and they were able to get my dog in right away, and they were so truly helpful, and really went to bat for her and got her all fixed up, and got me everything I needed. They were so affordable, so helpful and so kind and I am just so thankful to you guys for everything. And not only that, they were even going to get her in for a health evaluation because I was going to be flying on short notice, and honestly, we just could not have had a better experience.
